I bought one of these for my son about 5 years ago, and now my husband. Excellent coffee, takes up minimal room on the work surface, very easy to clean and, very importantly, the filter inserts are easy to clean as the inner base filter can be pulled out for cleaning if the small holes get clogged. We have had two othe more expensive machine where this was not possible. If left too long before cleaning out the small holes can easily get clogged and then are almost impossible to unblock as coffee sets rock hard in the small holes.

Great as a starter espresso machine. Easy to use, good quality espresso, haven’t had it long enough to use the cleaning function on it but I hear its easy to use. Obviously there are better machines out there if you want a high end device, but if you just want a decent espresso machine that’s straightforward and churns out nice espressos for home use you are onto a winner with this one. Plus I got it via amazon warehouse so it was half the price and the only issue was there was the tiniest of scratches on it which you barely notice unless you look for it tbh.

Been recommending this to all my friends since buying it as its a very good purchase, even at the standard retail cost.

This machine has been great since I picked it up on offer from warehouse. Was fed up with the guilt of nespresso so thought this would be a positive change. It definitely has been, fresher coffee with the same amount of effort but miles more enjoyable. Has really good pressure and gives good crema to a shot, makes good milk too. It has a small footprint on kitchen counter too and looks great. It has limits in terms of making a few cups at once but it’s a home coffee machine so it’s perfectly fine for that purpose, especially with a good grinde

I had a Krups for 12 months and it died so needed to invest in a better quality one! The Krups was 100 and was actually my 2nd as the 1st died after a month. The replacement Krups died (in a dramatic explosion all over the kitchen and me) after about 10 months!

Lucky for me Amazon supported the warranty and gave me a full refund. Clearly they couldn’t replace as I’m guessing the model was recalled for trying to take out coffee lovers like myself!

Anyways my good buddy has one of these and suggested I invested the extra for a better model. And he was 100% correct!

For starters the steam is twice the power of the cheaper Krups and really goes to town on the milk. Its quicker too so making 2 coffees now means we can drink together without one going cold, or drunk before the 2nd is made.

I get the feeling this ones going to last the test of time!

I bought this knowing that it will work with ESE pods and I am very pleased. The adapter fits into the filter perfectly and creates great espresso every time. The milk steamer does a great job on all kinds of milks for when I need to knock up a decaf vanilla oat latte, then hate myself for fifteen minutes before i can use the machine again.

My only complaint would be the noise. She’s a loud beast when she gets going, not great for early morning pick-me-ups.

All that aside, a solid machine that has set be back on the road to decent coffee and not the swill that Nescaf try to peddle down the co-op.

I’ve bought other cheaper machines all under 100..and was never happy with them…so decided to treat myself and buy a slightly more expensive one…definitely worth it!!..coffee is nice and hot unlike cheaper ones which I found make it tepid…milk frother does its job nicely…but my favourite bit is the fact that if you remove the main drip tray there is a secondary smaller removable drip tray underneath…which gives loads of clearance for a standard coffee mug!!! The programing function for delivery amount is straight forward and its not to noisy.

Purchased this coffee machine as a friend of mine already has one & I brought this machine based on seeing & using my friend’s one.
I got rid of the awful Nespresso pod machine (cost a fortune in buying pods) all the time & upgraded to this one, there is loads of YouTube videos you can watch on how to modify the machine & how to teach yourself the art form.
I buy already pre-grounded coffee from Kimbo to supermarket coffee so price ranges from 2.50 to 6.00 & I get on average between 40-50 cups of coffee so hence why I’m saving money
The actual machine has worked faultlessly in the time from receiving the coffee machine, I’ve had no issues, the coffee temperature I’ve programmed to high via the settings (as I like my coffee hot I’ve set the double shot to 26 seconds by pressing & holding the double shot button 1st of all (just once) in-order to set/program that extraction time.
You get the tamper, milk jug & all the other accessories you see in the pictures.
I use this machine at least 2-4 times a day & I only ever use the double shot setting, I don’t use the attachment it comes with for the milk frothing (it’s best with that left off) sometimes the milk spout will pop off but that is due to the steam/pressure so you just got to be careful & mindful when using that method.
Overall I rate this machine 5 stars as it doe’s everything I need it to do but I hope that it will last & be reliable (only time will tell) Also on a side note, I set the water to soft as I only use mineral water from Tesco, you get a 2 litre bottle for 0.50p as I live in a hard water area but I never digest tap-water so this should also make the machine last as it will not need descaling on frequent basis.

Upgrade this little gem to a bottomless basket and you will wonder why you ever spent money in a coffee shop if it wasn’t for the atmosphere which you can’t buy..
Its My go to machine for thoes perfect golden brews and I’ve had a few mid range and budget machines.
This one I just instantly mod it to my preferred use and use it untill it needs a new pump and replace it takes years to kill and the parts are easy get hold of and cheap also great fun strping and assembling
Not as hard as you would think just unplug it of course… and you can’t go far wring with all the easy to follow YT vids…
Its basically one of the Best budget coofe machines that can produce amazing results with the right touch

one of the best machines for a decent expresso under £500

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOur previously capsule coffee machine was broken, was looking for a replacement without capsules for the environment. Our kitchen is not enormous, so we want a slim functional good quality coffee machine with milk frothing function. This one prop up in the search and we gave it a go. We are very happy with the purchase. It is relatively easy to use. Only takes around 2 min to make a latte.

The only reason I took a star off is that you can’t really make 2 cups of coffee at a time. If I put 2 scoops of ground coffee in the “2 cup filter”, it won’t fit into the machine… So end up making 1 cup at a time, which takes longer to make 2 cups. Other than that, I am very happy with the machine.

Very quick delivery and good service.
The coffee maker is really easy to use and set up is quick.
Accessories are really good quality and sit well on the cup warmer plate.
Coffee is very good and smooth with ability to set different strengths via the measure pots and a bonus that it takes pods was a surprise.
Cleaning and de-scaling are simple operations.
    Highly recommended

I bought this having been a tassimo loyal for many years.
This is a very good coffee machine, and it looks the part too.
Very easy machine to use and clean. This makes a superior cup of coffee I have to admit and it makes hot coffee too, not the usual like warm brew that pod machines produce, including Nespresso. I bought the bean grinder which is a matching product and the two are absolutely amazing so far. The difference is compelling compared to pods to be honest and the taste is worlds apart. There are a few other purchases you will need to make like knock box and milk jug with a thermometer, but it’s well with the outlay I can assure you.

Bought this Delonghi coffee maker after the pump on our previous model – used frequently for 5 years – began to lose power. This one is more sophisticated with electronic flashing lights and the ability to preset volumes, heat levels and monitor cleaning! All too complicated really – but it does produce an excellent cappuccino from the e.s.e. pods that we buy. The drip tray – made with a very shiny finish – has scratched very easily! That is the only (small) failing!

I’ve now had this machine for 2 and a half years, it’s used every day and I still absolutely love it!

Yes it’s not as easy as a bean to cup machine would be, and a little time consuming if making more than 1 cup, but I’ve gotten to quite enjoy the coffee making ritual.

From a maintenance point of view it’s been very easy to look after, rinse out the portafilter and steam nozzle after each cup, give it the occasional wipe over to keep it shiny and descale it when it asks for it.

Smart looking, takes up little counter space and most importantly makes great coffee. Far better than any pod machine with the freedom to use any ground coffee you like, and no wasteful capsules! I wouldn’t be without it.

For the price this is a lovely machine – so far. Slim design is great for small kitchen surfaces. Easy to use and easy to clean.
It is versatile in that you can use one scoop of coffee and press for a one cup amount of water to make a strong espresso. Or press for a 2 cup amount for a slightly weaker espresso. Or press a couple of times to ‘wring the beans for all they’e worth’ and still get a decent Americano. Not used the pod option yet.
The hot milk nozzle and frother are great. I make sure I clean it after every use to avoid blocking, unless I am using it a few times in the day.
Overall very pleased with the machine and I trust it continues to live up to its reputation.

I chose the Dedica after reading many reviews online (in this price range). Not disappointed so far after 1 week of use. This produced amazing flat whites out of the box.

My first coffee was made using a 2 year old Aldi ground – and it was pretty good. I then purchased some Ethiopian whole bean from my favourite coffee shop, ground using my burr grinder, steamed semi-skimmed milk and the results were absolutely fantastic – great flavour profile and consistent too! I imagine the results would be as good if I bought pre-ground coffee – maybe better?..

The only issue I have experienced was when a few coffees caused the pump to struggle to push water through the coffee/filter – I found the issue was not the Dedica at all and I was grinding the beans too fine (didn’t know that was a thing, I do now!).

My wife has started using it – the simplicity and results make this a great purchase. I fully recommend the Dedica to newbies who are shopping in this price range.

Note: I bought a SS milk jug too as this makes the process easier.

More compact than our previous de Longhurst machine. Heats faster . Generally we do the double espresso twice then heat milk for a cappuccino.
Only disadvantages on/off button is near the back so not easy to reach and to get the old coffee out of the pod you need a spoon or something else. Previous machine had a metal bit that stopped the podfalling in the bin.

After a long time of wondering whether to get a pod coffee machine or not to bother at all, I decided to refine my search and only search for a barista style coffee machine for a real experience of brewing coffee. I also chose this because of how little waste there is when comparing to a pod coffee machine. I only waste the ground coffee puck but this goes straight into our green bin so no harm at all!

The machine is super easy to use. I find that the portafilter is now very smooth after a few weeks of daily use. It was a little stiff at first but with a bit of practice and as the machine gets worn in, it’s super easy to use. I live in a hard water area so I invested in a water filter so that I can save the internals from scaling up. This machine did come with some internal cleaner but I’m yet to get to my first full-on descaling.

Filling up the water is nice and easy. Frothing the milk for cappuccino is simple and straight forward. I tend to use the Hot Milk function as I’m more of a Latte drinker.

I wish this came with a better tamper than the multi-tool one it comes with. I find it hard to press the coffee into the portafilter because of the spoon being on the other end. I’ve invested in many tools to compliment this machine such as a black milk jug made by Rhinowares. Also, some cleaning brushes to be able to clean the small holes and pipes when doing a clean of the milk steamer.

One feature which I am a little underwhelmed with (it doesn’t really have any effect on the machine in my opinion) is the cup warming shelf on the top. It gets to be luke warm at the best. You can barely notice the heat from it. If I am pre-heating cups, I just run them under the hot tap. To be honest, I never really do this either…

All in all, I’d definitely recommend this machine. It looks great, there’s a wide range of accessories you can get direct from Delonghi and it makes a great coffee. I have never been barista trained and I picked it up in a couple of days.

I ordered a replacement for my original De Longhi in June. That one worked ok-ish, but one evening in September it exploded!! Cleared up the mess, phoned A,axon, and after the Amazon rep couldn’t connect to the manufacturer, he offered to replace it. Next day delivery/ no hassle/ again very impressed by both this wonderful machine* and Amazon service. The coffee machine works faultlessly, but I don’t like the plastic insert in the coffee holder, but as I cannot persuade the other inserts to fit, it just means it’s fiddly to clean.

With practice you can get a good work flow going and make ok extractions but I fear I will “outgrow this machine as I continue to hone my technique.

It’s and ok first home espresso machine but it seems to struggle with some beans more than others despite the grind size being the same.

Few minor complaints about build quality, stream wand needed replacing as the stock one isn’t great, steam switch has a microswitch missing the armature to make it work well, you have to turn it beyond what looks correct to actually activate the switch.

Not bad at this price range but no good for making multiple cups back to back as it’s a single boiler it has to alternate between the coffee temp and steam temp which is a bit tedious if you’re making coffee for 2-3 people.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat machine. It has roughly the same footprint as my Dulce Gusto Melody 3.

Taken me a day to get the hang of it, and work out the perfect (for me) latte and mocha.

The only gripe I have is that it is incredibly hard to push the filter holder around into the lock position. I have found it helpful to have the machine switched off when doing this to avoid pushing the buttons inadvertently.

That being said.it more than makes up for this by being PODLESS!

Useful to buy a couple of espresso shot glasses and a metal milk jug. And if, like me, you like really hot coffee, steam the milk twice. 🙂

Cost: Dolce Gusto at 3.50 for 8 drinks equates to 43.75p per drink. A 250gm of Illy ground coffee is 6.50, and using 5 gms per drink, equates to 50 drinks at 13p per coffee. Adding 300 ml of semi skimmed milk (I like a latte) at 80p a litre takes the overall cost of a latte to 37p. Saves 6.75p per latte. AND NO POD!

Plus the grounds are good for the garden.

    Great!

Mine arrived yesterday after 2 days of having to drink instant coffee, not a pleasant experience.

My previous Swan espresso machine stopped working after 2 yrs, pump just stopped pumping. Before that I had a Nespresso machine that used pods which also packed up after a couple of years due to pump failure.

Let’s hope this one lasts a little longer.

This machine is solidly built, has a good quality feel to it. Everything fits well together. The two features that I like about this machine is the automatic stop and the fast turnaround time. The reheat is instantaneous thanks to the use of thermoblock heating system, and it’s ready for the next one before you even have time to empty and refill the coffee ground.
The water capacity is only 1L but it’s really not a problem because filling it is so easy.

The noise is no worse than any other machines and there’s hardly any vibration thanks to the solid and weighty construction.

The programmable setting menu is not the most obvious and intuitive to use but you only have to do it once. You can set the water temperature, water hardness, water amount for each of the cup settings, and there’s a descaling programme you need to use from time to time. There”re only 3 buttons and lights, so you adjust the settings by pressing and/or holding the buttons in different sequences. You won’t remember which is which after 3 months, so keep the instruction booklet safe!!

The result is a lovely rich, smooth aromatic coffee with good crema lasting well into the minutes, and that’s with normal off the shelve supermarket pre-ground Lavazza espresso coffee ground.
It taste much better than the Swan machine that I had, with much smoother coffee, less bitterness and much better and longer lasting crema, all with the same coffee ground.

I’m sure if you spent a 4 figure sum on a machine you’ll get a better result comparable to the professionals, but for a mere mortal I doubt I’ll be able to easily tell the difference. It’s simple to use for a daily morning coffee, it’s easy to use, no fuss, easy to clean. For a machine south of the couple of hundred pounds it’s definitely a good buy.

We didn’t want a big one as the last one was a Nespresso machine and wanted to use the same space.
The pods were getting far too expensive and so opted for an espresso machine and so glad we chose this one as we are not baristas and wanted a machine that was easy to use but wanted good quality coffees!
We’ve experimented with different espressos and up to now we love the Starbucks one which is also a great low price!
Love, love, love this machine and would definitely recommend.

Great value for money, I’ve used other machines that are more expensive but get damaged very easily and need to be replaced often. This one is still going strong after 2 years of daily usage! Highly recommended.

Unfortunately this doesn’t make make steam just hot water and therefore just waters down the milk does not steam it and carnt be used as hot or frothed milk

***I love the coffee this machine makes. ***

*I don’t like the little hole you need to put a pin in periodically. So tiny. It just seems pointless.
*I don’t like the descaling that needs to be done (my old model which I had years, didn’t).
*I don’t enjoy all the messing around with setting the various flashing lights for different functions.
*All in all – I love the coffee but I feel they’ve went too far over pointless things.

**I must add that other coffee machines seem to be doing the same things. **

I’ve had this machine for almost 3 years now, and although I’ve been using it a lot (average of 3-5 times a day!), I never had a problem.

The quality of the coffee is excellent every time, and with a bit of practice you can make batista like cappuccinos.

Buy it, you won’t regret it!

Right out of the box it makes great coffee. I chose to remove the pressurised basket and got a normal one from Amazon for only 8. Makes very good espresso.

ever invested in a coffee machine at this price before. had one that i used to use which was a different make and cost half the amount but broke after a year
This machine is very nice looking, quite easy to use once used to it
quite time consuming to make my cappuccino so cannot use it in a hurry
but makes a lovely cappuccino with soya milk just as good as from the coffee shop
i do use it daily and I used to buy a coffee every day before.
hope it lasts as only had a few months but happy so fa

The Dedica has a smaller worktop footprint, and is easier to clean. like the adjustable auto ‘shot’ control, makes it much easier to walk away from without risking diluted espressos. happy so far.

Generally happy with this coffee machine. Bought one for my friends and they loved it so bought myself one too. The first one was faulty but I’m a Prime customer and Amazon replaced it the next day and the new one was perfec

I’m am purely an amateur coffee maker, so the questions above, blending output heat and the likes do not mean anything to me! What I can tell you is that this is a good little machine. And it works. I watched a couple of de’longhi you tube videos to learn how to set up and use the machine first. From the first try I had acceptable coffee. The more I use it the better I am getting and more adventurous in my coffee making. I don’t believe you’ll find a more easy to use machine to start off with, especially for general home use.

Decent coffee from the get go!

This is a great machine, fully metallic with intuitive buttons and ease of use. This machine in my opinion is a super simple coffee maker which is excellent at producing espresso and has options if you fancy something a little more luxurious like Cappuccino or Latte.

While expensive, I think this machine is really great for the price and could have asked for a much higher price point. Thankfully, they haven’t and this is a fantastic, accessible, machine.

I bought this coffee maker because of the size and design, one neighbor have the same and the coffee es really good. Well, now that I have mine I can’t be happier, works perfectly fine, love the fact you can use a big mugs or small espresso cups, even the almond milk get creamy and delicious. The size is perfect for small kitchen since it doesn’t take a lot of counter room and it’s a really good looking machine. I just love i

    Way better than expected

Milk frothier / steamer is good has 2 modes steam or hot water. Can fit a decent sized container. Coffee shots are a bit annoying has to measured with provided scoop can’t fill to top as won’t fit in machine. Amount of water and heat can be adjust but temp not as hot as I would like even on max.

I upgraded from a very simple espresso maker. It took me a little while to perfect my technique, it helped when I read the instructions. I really like both the crema it makes and the milk frothing. You can add extra heat too if you wish. I really like that it measures out the amount of crema so you can let it do its thing while you get the milk and other stuff ready. I think it is worth paying that bit extra as I do get a better cappuccino using this machine against the basic version.

It’s a good quality machine , that makes good coffee consistently. It’s also a good looking thing. The issue is that there’s a known fault with the on off power button. If you look through independent reviews , it seems that some owners have had issues where their machine was a problem. For me it wasn’t a big deal. Brand new, straight back to Amazon, swapped out and the replacement has worked fine since. Might be a Friday afternoon machine, but quite a few seem to have had similar problems . I would recommend it though, based on its coffee making qualities and overall value.

I am some what of an amateur coffee enthusiast that didn’t fancy plunging money into pods but also didn’t fancy weighing out water volumes and grinding fresh coffee everyday; this is exactly what I wanted. I also use a separate milk frother you can find on Amazon made by a company called Chyna which I highly recommend. This machine is also the highest ranked in its ‘genre’ on Which? as of June 2020 🙂

I have had this for over 8 months and have 0 complaints.

This is the perfect personal coffee machine

Use the machine daily and so far have been happy with it. Easy to use and clean. Would recommend this product although I notice that the price has jumped up considerably from when I bought it at the end of Decembe

I thought I’d wait a couple of weeks to review and I have done but can honestly say this is my favourite purchase on Amazon to date. Its so easy to use and the coffee is so good. I wanted bean to cup for less waste but it also means you can chose from lots of different coffees. Its quite compact so doesn’t take a huge amount of room. Its really quick to start up and holds a lot of water. We’ve used it daily since getting it and I wish I bought one sooner.

WOW I LOVE MY COFFEE MACHINE!!

IT IS SOOO EASY TO USE ONCE YOU GET THE HANG OF IT, I WOULD SUGGEST YOU QUICKLY GOOGLE HOW TO USE THE MACHINE INSTEAD OF READING THE BOOKLET.

THE MACHINE DOESN’T COME WITH A MILK CUP SO I WOULD SUGGEST BUYING ONE, IF YOU LIKE TO ADD MILK TO YOUR COFFEE.

IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A QUICK AND EASY MACHINE I WOULD 100% SUGGEST THIS ONE, I’M SO HAPPY WITH MINE!!

SUPER QUICK DELIVERY, THANK YOU SELLER!!

Descaled the machine it was a bit of a faff. Had to rinse it though 3 times before is was happy that all the descaled liquid had gone.
Love using it now, just hope it doesn’t need descaling sign for a while.

I love this espresso machine. The coffee it makes is excellent and it easy to make the milk foam. It takes little space, is sturdy and easy to use. The water tank is a bit small, and I do not think the water filter does anything besides getting loose. In comparison to an earlier machine I used, this one needs about double the amount of coffee for the same strengths.

Really good home coffee machine for the price. We have the silver one and it is a nice quality/looking machine. Doesn’t take up much space in our kitchen with limited work surface and was pleasantly surprised that you can change the heat the water gets to and amount of water that comes through your espresso. It also has a cup heater but that heats up after you’ve made a coffee so for our house where we only use it twice a day we don’t get much use from this. It is a bit fiddly to change the settings but as long as you read the manual its alright and once you have it set how you want its straightforward. It’s also really easy to get a good froth for your latte or cappuccino if that’s something you’re inexperienced with. Good for a household where you’ll be making one or two cups at a time if you’re using the milk frother as when it gets hot you have to vent it (to cool the water so it doesn’t burn the next espresso) to go back and forth between that and making the next coffee, or let the coffee crema die on the earlier ones and do the milk in one go. But that’s to be expected. It’s just something to consider if you’ve not owned a machine before and want it for when you have a few guests. A pod machine might be more suitable for you. We’re pretty happy with it for the price. The size works well for our current household. Good delonghi quality.

This is a great little coffee maker. The end result is a coffee just like the ones at the coffee shops. It is very easy to use however a bit difficult to set up all the modes. I still haven’t managed to set up the coffee temperature to the hottest but I will keep trying. It gives great instructions however I still found it difficult.

The flavour of the coffee is amazing and I think you can really use any type of coffee and still get an amazing taste. I use Lavazza for mine and it is beautiful.

The milk frother function is a god send as I used to froth my milk in a french press and it was messy and took too much of my time. It literally takes me 2 min to make a proper caramel/ vanilla latte.

It doesn’t take up too much space either and it is really easy to clean.

    5 stars out of 5!!

    A GOD SEND!!!

This is a fantastic entry level espresso machine, with one caveat. The pannarelo steam wand. If you want to make micro-foam you’ll need to mod the machine with something like Racillio Silva wand which will void your warranty. But if you like a cappuccino this is perfect for you! I’ve done the mod and can say that this machine is capable of some incredible coffee. Well worth the money once you make this small change.

Use the Dedica with ESE pods to make late coffee. Heats milk and water very efficiently and produces good cappuccino frothy milk. Reference to handbook essential for set up and descaling. Light in weight, has to be held firmly when inserting and removing the filter holder. Overall a good product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe product had a faulty switch which was very quickly resolved by way of return and replace it took one day. The new machine is perfectly ok. It takes no time at all to heat up and makes perfect froth for the cappuccinos that we love.Easy to use and easy to clean, nice and slim so doesn’t take up too much space.I would definitely recommend this machine.
