What does flavour mean Re kettle????
Love the RAF blue Art Deco. Appearance.
    Love the big spout.
Can’t easily see max min fill gauge as it’s tucked behind handle!
    Speedy boil too.

This kettle has replaced a previous version which lasted for years, hopefully this one will justify the high price point by lasting a long while too!
I particularly like the colour and the finish which means that the surface doesn’t get too hot. Other reviewers have complained that the base lifts with the kettle, but it hasn’t happened to me.

I had been looking everywhere for this particular colour and couldn’t even find it on the delonghi website. The kettle is beautiful. The only thing is the base does stick to the kettle a bit when lifting the kettle but hopefully this will stop with wear.

This was a housewarming gift and it was really well received. It’s modern, easy to use and looks fabulous. Now the couple are having problems with this kettle after such a short time. Please advise.

I bought this to replace a similar model from the same manufacturer. I love it (it lasted a good 6+ years and I never looked after it). Quick to boil, easy to use, very stylish. I don’t see how anyone can complain, unless on price. Not that cheap, but it does look very classy.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love the design of this kettle, is really fantastic and looks great in my kitchen. Its not very big which can have its positives in that it doesn’t take up too much space in a small kitchen but negative in that it doesn’t hold that much water. That being said the look and design are perfect for a modern kitchen. Just about the only negative I can think of is its a little heavy but thats just because of the materials its made of. Beautiful kettle cant recommend enough.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have to say when I saw the price of this my first thought was, why. It is a kettle!

However I am really pleasantly surprised by it. I think it looks really cool and very unique. It is an unusual design! It is much bigger than I expected, and it boils water quickly. It makes great hot drinks, which at the end of the day is the only real point of it. It cleans well and feels good to hold. Overall I love it, but the price again is the only part which would put me off.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt depends what you want from a kettle. I want it to boil water. And this does that. However it also looks sleek, modern and stylish so if you’re the kind of person who wants some pizzazz in your kitchen then you’ll like this. It’s a bit fiddly to refill when it’s still hot from a previous boil but as it has a decent capacity it’s not a huge issue. Is it worth the asking price? I’d probably say no but if you’re looking for a great looking range of kitchen appliances then this certainly fits the bill.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis kettle does exactly what it says it does, it boils water. Arriving well packaged and looking mighty fine it now adorns the blue work surface in my kitchen.

It is a beautiful looking item where kettles are concerned, has a larger footprint than my older one as it has wide base which I really like. It’s easy to wipe clean, the handle is sturdy and easy to grip making filling and pouring a breeze.

I give it five stars for boiling…..it boils hot really really hot….not like some kettles where hot feels more Luke warm….so makes immense cup of tea.

So how do I rate it….five stars yep most certainly I do…..until it comes to price point. How much is too much for a kettle. How much are you prepared to pay for said kettle…this is at present a considered purchase my last kettle did everything this one does but It’s not as pretty, it is tall and not as beautifully balanced, the handle is not as ergonomic nor does it feel as safe when lifting, its heavier by far, it doesn’t feel as though it boils as hot but are these all reasons to buy a kettle which is well over a hundred pounds?

Well made, in the world of kettles it is very beautiful and the quality/design is on point….yes I recommend if you have the need to buy a kettle, you love the brand, need the colour, the look, your a big fan of De’Longhi and are willing to put your hand very deeply into your pocket to pay for it. I have subtracted one star for price point, would I in all honesty pay this for a kettle….on my budget I couldn’t afford to!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDe’Longhi is a quality reputable brand and the Scolpito kettle is a good offering. It is very lightweight and aesthetic. The lid is easy to remove and replace for filling; the spout is quite narrow so hard to fill from the tap but a nice smooth pour. Seeing if the kettle is on caught me out at first as I expected the power switch to light up; it doesn’t. There’s a discreet red light on the front of the kettle and this illuminates instead.

It’s quiet and uses little energy. It’s efficient, easy to clean out, and quite easily recommended despite the high price point; you get what you pay for and this is made to last.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder And i love the look of this kettle so much.
It has artistic stylish good looks and comes expertly packaged to protect every cm of it.
The metallic grey colour is wonderful accentuated by the art deco ridges and shapes.
Nice enough to be a museum piece of art or an ornament.

De’Longhi is a well known Italian brand and is a quality build.
As a kettle it is practical and boils a full pot similar in time to my old one.
The water level gauge is not so easy to see but that is not a big problem, because the full lid comes off for filling, so you can see inside how much water there is.
The price is very high and hard to justify for something so essential, when, in my experience, kettle are replaced every 5 to 10years. However, I love it, i would not have bought it for myself but now that I have it I am so pleased to have it in my kitchen.

For me the main attraction of this kettle is its appearance — I love it! Mine is the Mineral Blue version and the styling is excellent, looking like a kettle version of Robby the Robot from the film 1956 sci-fi film Forbidden Planet. Never has a kettle attracted so much interest in my home — there have been a lot of visitors over Christmas and every one of them has commented very positively about it.

In practical terms it is well-made, with a sturdy feel to it although the plastic base does feel a little too light in weight. There is a flaw with the design of the kettle in that the water level indicator is placed behind the handle; I suspect that is to avoid spoiling the appearance. It doesn’t make it a bad design but it is difficult to see the indicator whilst filling it up.

I like that the kettle heats the water quickly, probably thanks to its wide base and the 1.5 litre capacity is plenty if you need a lot of water. The minimum is a mere 300ml, so just a cupful of water. It’s not a cheap kettle to buy and I suspect that most of the cost is due to the styling, but there is a matching 4-slice toaster available too and I’m seriously considering buying one.

Never has a kettle attracted so much interest...

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLooked good and was fairly quick to boil a full pot, I didn’t find it noisy at all, I did think that the fill level indicator is not in the best place to be seen easily being partly obscured by the handle. The on switch does feel a bit cheap and plasticky, but I like the flat base that is easy to lift off and put down, and the style and shape of it is different and attractive, the mineral blue colour is lovely, probably my favourite out of the colours available although the black is smart too. The lid is tight fitting and not the easiest to lift off when the kettle is hot, but it can be refilled easily enough via the spout so that is not an issue. If you read the instructions, it advises cleaning the filter and boiling the kettle 3 times before first use which is a bit of a palaver, not sure why a new filter needs cleaning.
This is an expensive item, more for those who care about the style than the price – several perfectly functional kettles could be bought for the price of this one, so although I am happy to have received this one and will continue to use it, when I need a new kettle I won’t be buying another DeLonghi at that price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis kettle ouses quality. I like the industrial look along with the grey/blue colour while the contrasting bands round the kettle add visual interest. It feels very robust and has a solid, tight fitting lid; this latter I especially like as it snaps in place most definitely and very securely – there’s no chance of steam escaping and scalding your fingers as you pour – as I find sometimes happens with hinged lids which don’t always close fully or tightly enough.

In use at boils a full kettle in about three minutes without too much noise. It pours very well with no drips or trickles down the spout. However if you boil a small amount of water you will need to tip the kettle quite considerably to get the water out, no doubt due to the wide base gourd shape of the kettle – on the other had that wide base does make the kettle very stable.

A very impressive looking kettle, but the best thing about it I think is the very secure lid which should avoid any more scalder fingers!
