The cable is strong and amazing as its fast charging and easy to set up from oculus to pc im very happy with this purchase thank you Destek
Works great with the oculus quest. Some cables are really cheap and the elbow connection breaks off. This one is strong and you’ll only break it if you’re actively trying to.
1st class service good quality item. Purchased for PC and
Quest 2 does exactly what it says very happy thank you
It’s a good cable and it’s definitely better value than the official quest link cable. However after one accidental light yank the usb end is already bent (as seen in the photo). Thankfully it does work still and it can be bent back straight but it’s not as supported as before so after a 1-2 hour play session the usb end bends again. I’ve had no issue with the usb-c side of the cable however and the cable has had no issues bandwidth wise. it also will charge the quest slightly but it won’t stay 100% which i don’t mind cause the quest will still last longer than playing tether less. and by the time the battery is depleted i’ll need to take a break anyway overall, it’s a fantastic alternative to the official quest link cable I just wish the usb was a bit more durable but at least it’s not completely broken.
Great product, cable nice and sturdy and working well with my oculus 2
Bought this cable for use with a Quest 2 and PC. Air Link works perfectly and the cable charges the headset at the same time. No stutter so far. Good length and cable feels decent and not flimsy – on the heavier side I’d say. Comes with Velcro straps for cable management on the headset aswell. Definitely choose this cable over the 89 Oculus one!
My son was pestering us for ages about getting one of these, we finally gave in and ordered this one in the hope it would be good quality and we weren’t disappointed!
Not much more to say other than it works, and at this cost that was a suprise in itself, very high quality cable, great customer service.
Connected my Quest 2 to my PC, Oculus Transfer speed showing 2.2gbps – Connected into a USB 3.1 Gen2 port on the back of my B450M TUF Gaming Plus motherboard (Downstairs media PC)
Works well, no issues seen as of yet.
First impressions are of a robust cable that will easily shrug off multiple accidental run overs with an office chair and it sure does this, I have limited space and have on more than one occasion run the cable over while playing vr games. Given that the Quest 2 only has a 3 hour battery life, dependant on use, that is only worsened by its own bloatware and can’t be used as a pass through without going through their OculusLink software, the battery life lives out for 7 or so hours before draining the battery down when plugged into a USB 3.0 port. The 5M cable is great for medium floor length use giving you plenty of length to move around but if you wish to use an extension or ceiling mounted cable then I’d advise going for about a 10M or so cable. Overall I think this is a robust cable for the average Quest user and would recommend for small-medium sized rooms
The order was very well packaged and secured, the cable the security caps to prevent damage on the ports. Which is very nice since barely anyone does that to cover their cables. Would order from Destek again! Very nice, also arrived fast and the cable is in good conditions, isn’t lose and its long enough for more space in your room :).
I recommend!!
I really recommend this cable if your looking for a cheaper option for linking up your Quest 2.
Got it for my Quest 2. It’s very well made, great cable length, get one.
Works good so far. Was able to connect my VR headset to PC finally because of it. We will see if it hold up over time.
It does not charge the headset fast enough whilst playing so do not rely on this to do that.
Overall a great product!
Works as it should, quite a beefy cable so I can’t see it breaking anytime soo
First off save yourself 70 on the official cable and get this…it works. However when your setting it up with your Ocullus Quest 2 make sure that ‘Air Link’ is switched off, in all the guides I found on the web nobody mentioned that it had to be off before Link would work, so plug in and enjoy your PCVR games 🙂
It charges the headset while playing as well.
Working.. connected to laptop lenovo legion rtx2060, to USB 3.1-A port.. Oculus Quest 2 test show 2.1-2.2gbps , test PASS. In simracing games , windows working no issue. Cable bit big but not such much problem when was set on head.
Works with Oculus Rift 2 which is the primary reason I bought it, can’t complain at all.
Well so for oculus cable might be too thick not flexible enough
Very very happy with the quality of the cable. It’s quite thick and resistant to bending movements which will ensure the health of the cable remains for longer. This is a steal at just a fraction of the price of the normal one available on the oculus website. The length is plenty for free movement however the stiffer cable initially can feel a little resistive during play.
This extends to other uses too because if it can transfer oculus data at that speed it definitely is up to scratch for many other tasks. Even if you don’t have an oculus then this will work in most situations.
Great cable and value for money!
As I received the product was not what I was expecting for 25 I was looking for a cheep alternative to the oculus link cable but I think I got better than that super thick making for less kinks but the only bad thing about this amazing cable is that its a little heavy so would recommend hanging it high if possible
Would recommend
This is a 3 metre long cable made from a nice thick rubber. The bit that goes into your phone is at a right angle, that makes using your phone whilst sitting or lying down, when its charging, easier.
Charges the phone quickly and also works well for transferring photos to a PC.
Once Oculus connect software was installed on my PC the headset was detected by connecting with this cable. The cable has a nice braid finish and appears to be very robust. The 5 m length allows for good movement in a game zone when connected to a desktop PC. The official Oculus cable is about 90 which is ludicrous so a cable for 27 that does the same thing represents good value. The only criticism is it’s weight – It does pull on the headset a bit. I used the velco tabs that came with the cable to secure it to the headset to help ease cable strain. Overall , it works well and does the job at a fraction of the cost of the official cable.
I had a little problem with my wire and connection issues but the customer service is so amazing I’m giving 5 stars. They replied super quick and offered to help try and fix it before offering alternative solutions, I’m extremely pleased wirh how it turns out and I will be ordering from the company again if I need anything they sell!
Full disclosure: I am definitely a bit of a noob when it comes to understanding the complexities of cables. In effect, I have had issues with at least 2 different brand new power banks leading me to decide to return one for a refund and have the other replaced under the impression that it was faulty when, really, I’ve since realised that the problem was likely just my having used a cable that wasn’t suitable for them, meaning that the batteries would charge or send their power to a connected device very, very slowly.
So, I still very much have a lot to learn as far as becoming even a little knowledgeable let alone fluent when it comes to observing and judging cables – especially what they are capable of, and with what devices. What I can say is that this cable arrived neatly coiled with a small velcro strap included and already attached, helping it to keep its shape within what is a kind of more durable plastic ziplock bag.
The initial impression that I got upon pulling it out and actually handling it, as others have implied, is that there’s some degree of quality here. It is a notably thick cable – I eventually noticed, actually, that it is even a very, very tiny bit thicker than even the cable of my (Dell) laptop charger – and of course it is considerably long. Very long. This makes it very convenient, useful for all sorts of devices and situations.
I don’t have any of the fancy gadgets that this cable is apparently meant for. My initial reason for having ordered this was to power a portable bluetooth speaker that I keep on the middle of my headboard which, annoyingly, has the charging port on the left-side of the device and not, say, on the back, hidden from view. I’ve since gotten a much bigger audio device that draws power instead via a UK plug, so I will likely be placing this on my headboard and then seek out a place for the previous one – a place where it is possibly less within view to hide the fact that it has this annoying charging port quirk, LOL. In this way, I can just use a regular cable for this since it will be hidden away anyway, and so keep this cable free for some other device in which using it would be more suited than the traditional kind.
So far, I have used this cable just a few times to charge my phone (S9) directly and, also, to power a wireless charger to, again, charge my phone. As I write this, I have it connected from my phone to one of those multi-plug towers with USB ports incorporated into it. Using this cable instead of a regular cable is more comfortable and better, I’d say, especially if you are in bed with your phone and trying to use it while it is charging. Unlike regular cables, this cable is forced to go either one way or the other (which you can decide for yourself which side, which is in itself convenient), while the traditional cable usually pokes out of the bottom, usually forced to bend, which I am certain is bad for the cable, but also potentially even the cable port if one is not careful.
Brilliant cable for using with my oculus quest 2, at 1/4th of the price of the official overpriced one.
Full oculus support, software detects the cable and gives nice green tick for support. Zero lag and great speeds. Good price
I am very pleased with this type C cable so far.
Few seconds after I opened the package I have realised that this is a good quality cable as it is very flexible, makes a nice and tight connection rather than being a bit lose like I’ve seen on some cables and upon checking I was also pleased to see that it has a fast data transfer speed and also it does support fast charging despite of being just over 3 meters long.
This cable is perfect for any device using a type C connection, is rather thick than thin so I believe that it will last a really long time if taken care of.
I was a little dubious as to whether this cable
Would actually connect a vr headset to the pc
My son has an occulus quest and has wanted to try one of these cables.
The oculus quest (official) cable I find to be over priced so I thought I would try an alternative cable.
After connecting the wire to the pc tower and plugging in the headset, a few applications and settings had to be changed to enable my son to use the VR and pc combined.
To my sons excitement he was soon playing his Steam vr compatabile games on his occulus quest , he also managed to use Minecraft in VR also.
This cable has exceeded my expectations, it is a strong cable and a good length, hopefully it will be hard wearing as I feel my son will be using it regularly.
Great does what needs to do, very happy and would recommend.
So if you are planning on using your Oculus for PC gaming, you get this.
If you are planning on paying for the official Oculus cable, you get this.
If you want a high quality thick cable that feels durable, you get this.
If you are even just after a really long USB-C cable for any use, you get this.
So as you can tell, my recommendation is that you should get this!
Being a bit more serious, yes this is a very good cable and the Oculus app does confirm its a high speed cable. Feels like it will survive alot of tugging whilst you play.
Great product.
Does the job just fine, no issues, fully compatible with Oculus Quest 2
I got this to test
I needed a cable so i can use my new pc and oculus quest 2 in VR for Microsoft flight sim 2020
The cable comes in a branded box, on opening your meet with a nice well made strong quality cable.
The cable is 5m (16.4) and braided, it’s nice and thick. I checked cable and could not find any defects anywhere, the ends are well made and seem really durable
I ran the VR test on oculus and was getting speeds around 2.1GBPS which is more than enough for playing my VR games.
This product is a great investment I would definitely recommend it.
Fast transmission & safe charging cable for sure, USB 3.1 supports data transfer speed up to 5Gbps this is really great.16 Feet Length and 90-Degree angle, enables long distance data transferring without losing the signal that what is most important for me.The quality of the cable is brilliant and very strong.Good value for money for sure.
Having recently required a new kindle as my old one broke I found I only had mini usb cables and no c cables. One came with the kindle of course but it’s too short as the socket is a bit far from my bed. This is a nice long cable with a Ben in the connector so it sits nicely and I can use it sitting on my bed. It charged my kindle quickly without the “this cable is not suitable” warning coming up on my screen.
Exactly the cable i needed and no issues with it, very long and robust.
Great build quality and well used already
Though this is primarily advertised as for the Occulus. I wanted a very long line keep my iPad charged whilst using it and I am pleased to say after testing it works for this purpose.
Using a USB to USBC connection this is great for any USBC device whether to just power or for high data transfer. The long line really stretches out a long way so should be able to keep an device attached in a ny room (unless you live in a mansion) It has a very thick weave around it, much thicker than most USBC cables which whilst loses a little flexibility makes up for an extra durable cable, and the length means the flexibility if less of a problem.
It seems to charge my iPad at a pretty standard pace so perfect for just keeping the power levels up or for charging overnight.
Overall happy with this.
Highly recommend this cable over the super over priced oculus version.
I’ve now used this for around 12h of vr time and can safely say it works amazingly well.
It’s such a shame my expensive oculus quest 2 didn’t come with a cable, i know the gimmick is that the headset can operate without a pc, however in my opinion it’s much better on a pc setup.
The official cable is not only hard to get, but also ridiculously expensive, i understand that the quality has to be there, if not the video connection will simply not work properly and you will have blackouts and black screens, i can safely say this cable is of great quality.
You can tell because of the thickness, not only are the wires themselves thick enough to pass through enough data and bandwidth, but they are also robust enough that you can drag it around and move around with it. It’s also a long cable so you can have a lot of mobility.
Overall, this is a great third party cable, which will now be my recommended vr cable.
