Much easier set up for a technophobe with the added “ask” feature to do anything you don`t understand. Less things on homepage so much easier to find anything you want. Looks good too. Very pleased. Unlocked for your own choice of supplier.
I liked the easy way to learn about the mobile phone
Its cheap but isn’t as easy to use as it should be for an elderly person and I can’t get the alarm system working properly. It sends an alrm to the recipient phone but you wouldn’t know unless you happened to be looking at the phone at the time
Great phone second one purchased only problem you cannot make the volume louder on whats app so cannot hear the caller properly. The software was simpler to use in 2018 as it was a bit more basic, otherwise a good phone.
i like the smartphone very much so better than the old phone
Pleased so far. Arrived well on time. Needed only for occasional use as a senior so fits the bill.
This phone has everything you need in a phone but I did not find it easy to use. I have had a few Doro phones which were very simple. The 8050 the is much more complicated and I still can only use the basic things. However I did manage to put on the NHS app which is the main reason I bought this model.
My elderly mother in law has been struggling with an old flip phone and friends trying to contact her on WhatApp..
This phone is brilliantly easy for her to use and is really intuitive..
I would highly recommend this phone for the older non tech savvy person.
I am very pleased with this phone. It is easy to set up and use and is very well priced. I recommend i
ook a bit of getting used to but a fantastic phone
I like the phone and the basics are idiot proof, however there is much more to to decipher on this phone, maybe too much for elderly, non tech users. I’m 80 but have a young son to help. Well made product at a fair price.
This phone is an upgrade very simple to use just what I wanted easy to navigate with all the bells and whistles I need.
Bought this for my Mam. Product is fantastic upgrade for her from the flip phone. Excellent quality
My phone is advised as 128 memory ,that made me buy it. But its only 16 memory is this something wrong
with phone await a reply.
it does seem a good phone but runs out of storage with not many apps.
Good product. Bought this mobile for my mother in law.
Bought this for my wife who is a technophobe, and once she mastered the knack of how to tap the screen, and not try to press your finger through the phone(!!), it was plain sailing. I had to set it up for her with contacts etc and photos but she does not use the internet.
had to get my daughter to set it up,as not rechncal.coiuld have done with instructions on paper to use phone,as not had a few one for 7 yrs. phone easy to handle, and read screen, assistance button good feature but hope I will not use it.
Great phone, very easy for my mum to use even though she had never had a smartphone before!
Having had initial problems attempting to set this up, I spoke to the vendor who was extremely helpful. The issue was a dud sim. The phone is perfect for an elderly relative who has never had a smart phone before. Excellent product and service
changed sim from my old Doro clam phone successfully , it took quite a while to send a text and make a call.
but after a few tries, I now have no problem, the other things I do struggle with but keep trying.
The phone is fairly easy to use. However, set up takes time and I believe would be beyond what an elderly person with limited computer knowledge would manage. I haven’t tried the emergency button but it looks like a good feature
I bought this phone for my wife who has had difficulties using some aspects of a smartphone. The Doro seems to redress all the issues she had. It was incredibly easy to set up.
Great purchase worth every penny easy to use easy to set up . Dont use the yellow joy launcher in set up process use the green launcher. Then it makes everything you do so easy . Talking on the phone now is a dream
I bought this phone to update my old Doro and am very pleased with it so far. It takes excellent photographs even though I’m no photographer!
As I am very hard of hearing and have low vision and so the phone is very helpful in this regard.
As above, it is easy to use, but the letters are small and close together. When I want to press the comma I get the jmogy instead. I also get notified that updates are available , but no instructions how to download them.
Replaces an old DORO 8035 that expired! Easy transfer and very like the old one
This phone is a lovely phone, but Doro is advertised for seniors and the elderly
My Gma is 95 and has been coping with a button press phone and we thought we’d try her on a smartphone
She knows what to do and can use it
HOWEVER
I’ve had to install several apps (new launcher/home, dialler, calling system, contact system ect) and uninstall hundreds of apps no one wants, let alone an eldery person!
It is made as a normal smart phone! No accessable/easy to use softwares at all
Doro’s emergency button is the only thing that is good as Gma can’t sit on the button and set it off, however setting up the system for it was a pain
Overall, it is not a phone for seniors at all
The google assistant scared the life out of Gma (not literally o.o) and we’ve given up on her using it as her sole phone – it’s just for video calling (with help of the carers) and she continues to use her push button phone for calling!
I have tried these smart phones before and just could not use them but this one is so much easier to use.
Purchased this for my 87 year old mother in law who has had Doros for many years and cracked the screen on her clam phone. Decided to try the more modern version and like with many elderly folk could not get to grips with all the extra facilities but most of all how to touch the screen to move through the options. Decided to down grade to the most current clam phone
Phone perfect for mum, unfortunately delivery was poor & it was left outside all nigh
Absolutely impressed. It has so many great features. I had an iPhone before and this is far superior and not just for seniors.
Bought as a Christmas gift for my hard of hearing technologically challenged dad – he is able to use it and got connected to WhatsApp with a little help ,so I’m very impressed
This is a simplified interface but as far as I can tell fully functioning android smartphone. Anyone who has set up a smartphone will have no problem setting this up. Perfectly good looking mid range phone. It doesn’t scream “I’m old and incompetent” but has senior friendly features such as larger script, an uncluttered interface and hearing aid settings. You do need a Nano sim so another trip to my folks to stand outside to give front garden tech support in the cold as my dad’s card is properly old school.
This is the third Doro phone….the second Smart…. Like them for their simplicity in set up and use, with good volume for the hard of hearing.
Phone is ldeal for second unit just small and handy.
All round easy to access and use, very clear on screen apps to access relevant resources
Not as simple as it is made out to be.
This phone was bought for a severely sight impaired person who has poor grip and finger movement. The phone is not too large to pick up and carry. It has the facility for large text, voice activation and many other useful facilities for someone with physical disabilities.
