Purchased for our caravan, we needed a screen that was tough, portable and easy to put up and down. This ticks all of these boxes. The feet are easy to pull out, the screen height can be adjusted with ease and it’s sturdy enough to survive children under the age of seven attempting to use it as a touch screen. The picture quality is much better than we expected (although this will depend upon your projector) and the screen doesn’t move (it does when touched by little hands but soon settles!). Overall very pleased with the screen and really glad we paid the extra to have one with a stand.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis really has proven to be an excellent purchase. The quality of the screen is excellent, the way it opens and closes is really good. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 starts is that as the screen is so big, when you open it fully it feels like it’s going to tip over even with the feet out, I get round this by securing the top of it with some string velcro to the curtain pole (I set it up in a living room). It goes away well and so setting it up is pretty easy.

Had one of these before (maybe different manufacturer) and this is better quality.
Good looking and looks very professional. Very, very pleased with it (and the white and black matte finish)

Bought this screen for a portable home cinema set up with a projector for my sleepover party business. I had bought a 100″ from a different company but it was way too big for people’s homes and needed 2 people to put it up. When I saw this screen and how simple it looked to use I had to try it and i am not disappointed! The screen is super easy to use just by pulling it up/down. It is also very sturdy and the screen is lovely and thick for a perfect picture. It is a little heavy to carry but I think that’s acceptable when it is such good quality.

Update: can’t fault the supplier. They replied immediately, said they agree it seems faulty and will replace or refund. I think it says a lot about the item that I’d like a replacement rather than a refund.
Update 2: Replacement arrived today and the mechanism works perfectly.

The screen material is great, but the mechanism is poorly adjusted – maybe faulty. It doesn’t close properly: it shuts at an angle and rolls up unevenly so that the edges catch.
The frame on the top part of the screen is bowed.
In short, far from the simple pull up and push down demonstrated in the video, I have to carefully lower it, forcing one side down to make it retract evenly.

Love it. Quality of the screen is outstanding for the money. Pic quality with our Bomaker projector on the screen is outstanding. Love the fact it’s portable and easy to move around. Case keeps the screen well protected and very easy to set up. When something is this good normally it’s too good. Not here manufactures have done an outstanding job.

Great screen and pic quality outstanding

Second time lucky with this screen. We had ordered an earlier item but due to a couple of issues with the screen we returned it. However what we did like about the original purchase was the design and quality of this product so we gave the vendor another go and we couldn’t be more happier with our replacement. We found Duronics customer service and communication superb and would highly recommend this scree

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is an excellent piece of kit. No need to hang a fixed screen from the ceiling, this can be put up anywhere in seconds. Just swivel the feet out, unclip the box and pull the screen up and that’s it. Takes 10 seconds and the screen is ripple-free. I store it away under the sofa when I’m not using it. No need to have a huge LED TV dominating your room permanently, just get a projector, DTV box and this screen.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe purchased this screen for a ‘seniors’ Camera Club, hoping to be able to display our pictures and tutorials on a big screen for all to enjoy.

We opted for the largest size we could find and chose the Duronics model as it collapses and rises to any desired height with the absolute minimum of effort whilst protecting the screen when down.

Too many other screens looked fiddly to us and ran the risk of the screen getting creased or damaged whilst being stored.

Delivery? All we can say is WOW!!! Ordered at 3pm Monday and delivered the following morning all protectively packaged and tidy though, to be honest, we weren’t confident that something this big would arrive safely.

Want a big screen? Then go the extra mile and buy one of these … well worth the extra few pounds!!

There are only really a couple of things wrong with this screen. 1. It smells on arrival, my screen had a pungent scent of chemicals and plastic; which I will admit disappeared after a few days. 2. Any source of bright light behind the screen will cast a shadow of the arm mechanism into the presented image; it has to be quite a bright light to do so, reducing the amount of light behind by for examine dropping curtains is enough to counteract the shadow.
It is very portable, as long as both the catches are locked and the stands turned under the case. Overall, it is a lot better than some other screens I have used.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a second Duronic screen bought for use in a church meeting in a school hall. It needed to be easy to set up, portable and robust affording a good image in a shaded but not dark environment.
It fits the bill well. The mechanism makes it easy to erect and it is not too heavy for such a big item.
One word of warning. Our first screen needed a repair after regular use. I do not blame the manufacture as I believe that someone had not exercised sufficient care in lowering the screen into it’s case resulting in a damaged bracket which we repaired ourselves. The mechanism is fine if treated with respect, but us not foolproof.
Overall we are pleased with our purchase and consider it good value

We love how easy it is to use, that it’s solid from the bottom so it looks like a real cinema screen and works very well with an inexpensive projector – very happy. Haven’t scored durability as just bought it but the quality is good.

This screen is large and would be unwieldy if it was a conventional ‘tripod’ design. However you just put it on the floor, swing out the stabilising feet, and then just lift the handle and the screen rises up to its full height on hydraulic struts. Easy. It’s made from good quality materials, is well constructed and I’m delighted with it. The manufacturer seems to be genuinely anxious to supply a quality product at a good value price. Highly recommended.

I wanted a screen that was portable and didn’t require any wall or ceiling fixing. This one suits my purpose very well. Although a little heavy it’s very easy to set up. Twist the two feet into position, undo two clips, open the lid and pull the screen up to the desired height. It takes less than a minute. It’s held quite taut so there are no wrinkles to spoil the image and it’s very white. To collapse it you simply push down on the top and it rolls back into the base.

The only downside, for me, is that it had a marked smell of fresh paint but keeping it open for a day or two in a well ventilated room reduced the smell significantly.

  17. Anonymous says:

The screen arrived well packaged (plastic, tape and straps) and therefore undamaged. It is simple to erect, easier in fact than many smaller screens I have used, and (almost as important) just as easy to put away again. Do follow the instructions — there aren’t many, but they are important. The case is sturdy and has two clip fasteners which operate positively. The feet allow floor mounting or (at a stretch) table mounting, and the screen was very stable. Our group will be using it a lot.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis screen is heavy and made of sturdy metal how ever that said if like me you want to watch movies it doesn’t fill all the screen but the main problem with it is room temperature I may be wrong I’m not a scientist but if the room is cold the screen is fine if its warm i.e 30 degrees outside the edges curl up a little that said I think for the price your getting a good screen it folds away easily and when standing locks nicely one word of warning though don’t point a fan in it direction when watching a movie.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersVery happy with this floor projection stand. The 80″ is big enough for most venues but small enough, at 182 cms long, to get into a largish (estate or SUV type) vehicle with half a back seat folded down.

In use it is simple to erect – just swivel out the feet, unclip the lid and pull up to the height you need. No locking required, it holds itself up and when you’ve done it just pushes down. No folds or creases in the screen either and it is a nice white colour for projection of presentations or video.

Unlike the tripod style of screen it shouldn’t give you a hernia or a slip disc when erecting it!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis is good – it just fits in a standard saloon car (as in just!). However, it is quite heavy – so if you’re walking some distance with it + it’s very long. I can just get it in a lift, but can be hard around staircases and if on the street you can knock people over with it if you’re going around a corner! I’ve always put it on a table so that people can see it – but you need a chair to stand on to pull the screen up. It’s very difficult to do this on the floor and then put it on a table (unless there’s two of you).

The case is made of metal, there are two clasps that open the lid and then simply pull the screen upwards. There’s a rear trellis type of device that holds the screen taut. You then simply lower it back into the case.

The only weakness that I’ve found is that both ends of the case have plastic covers (they protect the metal of the case). These seem to take the impact when trying to manouvre it in confined spaces. Probably best to tape them.

The screen opens flat and is sturdy. As I use it to give talks I just place the projector to fill the screen – the importance for me is the high luminosity of the screen as I show films / photos in a variety of rooms where sometimes I don’t have a great control of the light.

A good buy and I hope is durable!

Bought 3 years ago, initially for watching projected movies on, but now used as backdrop to business Skype calls (so I look like I’m in a meeting room rather than at home) and green screen (for my kids video homework).

PROs: Good quality build that has continued to work great for over 3 years. Quick to put up and down, so ideal for my short-term Skype call backdrop use. Rotating legs give stability. White area great for projecting onto, with black lower area. Sturdy enough to place green screen sheet over if required.

CONs: When stored it is quite large (about 1.85m long x 12 wide) )and heavy. While no problem for my home use (moving from garage to office), this is not something I’d want to travel around with.

Having struggled with my old heavy, old fashioned screen, this one is a dream! It unrolls upwards from its box, and has a structure on its back to keep itself stable. It has two feet, which rotate outwards on the side of the box, in an easy action. It does smell at first, as other reviewers point out, I had it outside in the sun for a full day before using it, and it was absolutely fine. It is an excellent, good quality product, well designed, and well worth the price.

    Stinks for about 3 weeks!

After that the smell goes and it is ok

One major issue though is that if you have the screen quite low then there is no lock and therefore nothing to prevent it crashing down in to the base. This happens if you touch it sometimes. Its a SERIOUS CONCERN IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN.

I doubt any adult would hurt themselves with it but a small child could easily lose a finger on this.

When full up the top bar separates from the screen as it bends. May be a long term issue.

Quality is not great but price is low

  33. Lindsey Gain says:

This is an excellent screen. It is so easily set up and will stay in any position to which it is pulled up. One drawback are that it is very heavy, but this is probably unavoidable. The other drawback is that it has very flimsy latches. As other users have noticed, these are easily damaged by a slight knock. This happened with my screen so I bought a couple of straps to hold it shut. These straps are also useful in holding the feet parallel with the case while in transit so that these don’t slide open which would expose them to damage. A damaged catch can be dealt with but if the feet were damaged I don’t know how the screen could be made to stand up.
However, I have found the screen too big and bulky so have bought the eighty inch version which is perfect.

Really happy with this as it functions dual purpose – presentations/meetings and home cinema.
Set it down by its carry handle, swivelling each foot [late to 90 degress, flip two clasps, fold back the lid and pull up one handed with ease to full height.- For me thats less than 30 seconds. It should fit in a standard four door hatchback along the passenger seat to rear if the set back is fully reclined (Mine is only a Ford Focus and it fits)

I have watched films like Avatar and Matrix and been happy with the screens performance and the fact I can tote it off to meetings and courses is great.

Ok so it smells a bit, like the other reviews note, but I think it just smells new and isn’t that bad to be honest. I’ve got another screen from another company which smelt similar new so it’s not as bad as you may think.

I got the floor standing screen as I didn’t want to drill holes in the ceiling or wall, and to be honest it’s a good screen. It comes in a metal hold all and you just pull the screen out with a handle, and when done push it back in – easy!

My projector is a Optoma HD33 and the 3D and quality of blu rays is better than the cinema, so nothing wrong with the quality. If you want a hassle free good quality cheap screen that’s robust and does the job, that’s doesn’t require drilling holes, get one. If you want a more permanent setup get a wal mounted one.

Measurements of 60″: Max distance (i.e. fully extended) from ground to top of frame handle 198cm; to top of white screen 188cm and therefore to bottom of white screen 97cm. Width of screen including black border 128cm.
Seems to be well built and solid enough weighing in at 8kg. Slight bowing inwards along fabric edges when fully extended, but nothing too drastic. Others have covered its ease of use so I won’t go into that.
And it does pong a bit so probably a good idea to leave extended for a while to get rid of the smell.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI must admit, that while I certainly ordered the 2m length product, I was still surprised by just how big it was when it arrived.
If, like me, you are using this as a portable device for delivering training, then also know that you need a car with a ski hatch or folding seats, just to carry it around. I’ve got an Audi A6 estate, and even with the ski hatch, it still comes in over the drivers armrest.
If you don’t have a big car and you need a portable device; you’re probably better off getting one of the smaller ones. The 2m length isn’t something you want to carry about with you on the bus or train.

Once you get past the dimensions, this is an excellent piece of kit (in part simply due to its immense size!).
Super easy to set up. Takes seconds. Turn out the feet; unlock the case; raise to your preferred height.
I love the fact that I don’t have to raise to its full height – just raise it as high as is necessary; then it’s ready to use.

An excellent product chosen to replace a very cumbersome and elderly tripod screen for our local Historical Society. Very easy to raise to the height required – virtually only fingertip effort needed – and reasonably light enough for one person to move within the hall where we meet. It’s pretty large, and therefore gives a good picture which is easily viewable at the back of the hall. Very highly recommended.

I don’t often write reviews but I’m so impressed with this purchase, it would only be right to!!

After a fair bit of research in to different projector screens, as well as looking in to making my own, I finally opted for this one due to it’s small footprint and portability. Tripod screens take up a deceptively large amount of floor space due to their legs.

First off, lets talk about the delivery: I ordered this on a Sunday morning and it arrived Monday lunch-time. I didn’t even know that was possible!! Great stuff.

The screen itself is simple to operate and built in to its case, no assembly required! Just undo the latches, open the lid to the case and pull the screen up. The smooth hydraulic system that supports the screen allows it to hold itself at whatever height you want it. When you’re done, just lower the screen down back in to the case and hey presto! Everyone who has seen it has been impressed with the build quality and ease of use, especially for such a large screen (2m x 1.5m) – a couple of friends have actually gone and bought their own since.

This screen is perfect for presentations or for event projections. When it’s not being used out and about, I use it at home for our home cinema. While it isn’t as good as some dedicated cinema screens, the matt finish still holds up well for HD projections. The screen itself is an off-white with a slightly textured surface – not ideal for close up viewing but looks great from a distance of 2m or more.

The only gripe, which many people have pointed out on here, is the strong plastic/vinyl smell from the screen when it’s up. It definitely pongs when you first get it and I can imagine it would give you a headache in a small, un-ventilated room from new. I left mine to air outside with the screen up during the day and the smell went in no time at all.

All in all, I’m really happy with this purchase. Best thing I’ve bought in a while and at 100, it’s a steal!

  49. bookreview says:

This was larger than I actually needed, but as it was sold as slightly marked and was not much more expensive than the 60″ version, I decided to buy it anyway. It did not disappoint – there was only a slight scuff mark on the outer case, the screen itself was pristine.
It’s simplicity itself to operate – turn the feet 90 degrees, flip the catches and open the lid, then pull up the screen by the central point. None of that faffing around with tripods and extending poles that you get with older style screens. And to pack it away, it simply pushes down into the case. Nothing could be simpler.

  50. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

I wanted a pull-up projector screen, the biggest I could get, so I could take it down and put it away when not in use, but I overcooked it with this one. It is l-o-o-o-n-g, and too unwieldy to be regularly moved.

But other than that, it’s as good as can be, and I now have the FPS80/43 which is just that critical bit more maneuverable.

But if I had the room and could leave it in place, but down, between viewing sessions, this is the one I would go for. Just check your eyes aren’t bigger than your floorspace 🙂

It did arrive with one catch broken, but the suppliers were very responsive to fixing this, and if it hadn’t been too big, I’m sure it would have been fixed, and I’d have kept it.

  51. Anonymous says:

Soooo easy to use, exactly what we needed. Multiple users resulted in our previous one being damaged – it was awkward with the supporting pole having to be extended, positioned, fixed into place. This one, unclip the hooks, pull up to desired height and hey presto! To dismantle, simple push gently from the top and it folds back into its carry box. Highly recommended!!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersDoes the job wonderfully well. The casing, which stands on the ground when the screen is open, encloses the rolled down screen helping to keep everything clean and dust free. Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPurchased this after buying the smaller 80″ version for Church. Use the new 100″ screen for U3A. Smooth Operation. Needs to be handled with care but that is to be expected.

The delivery was promised for Feb 11 but it arrived early on the 5th! Less than two days from ordering, excellent sevice. Also the screen satisfies our needs. It is very stable when in use, far more than our previous one on a tripod which was known to fall down and occasionally shut up on its own. It is also very convenient to carry around when shut up in its own case.
One thing I will report which has no bearing on the product. There was a hole in the cardboard box and when the screen was removed from it there was a small dent on the lid. Something had pierced the box in transit. This does not detract from its use and can hardly be seen but thought I would report it.

I would recommend this item because of it’s moderate price – it does the job. The pull-up mechanism works well, keeping the screen material stretched taut and giving flat images all over except for a slight curl at either edge – livable with. The screen surface is fine. However the case is not sturdily built, so if you buy one, before use check inside the case to see if the rotating feet are fixed securely. It is easy enough to rectify if a foot is loose and you could prevent a disastrous fall. Be aware of weak points, handle with care, and it’s worth the money.

Excellent quality screen, easy to use if a wee bit heavy to carry around but of course that’s needed to ensure stability. Good value for money too.

I bought this screen being aware of the strong chemical smell after having read numerous reviews about the product.

Having erected it in the shed for a few weeks hoping that the smell will have gone – it really is strong – it still smells (albeit not as strong any more)! I am glad to say that I have another 10 days before I am going to take it to my first talk.

As regards to mechanism, etc, it seems to be okay, possibly a bit delicate if handled very roughly, not the kind of equipment to be used by heavy handed people I feel.
When retracting the screen you have to be careful not to catch it on the casing.

Because I have not actually used it yet with the projector, I cannot give a review on the actual surface coating of the screen.

    Overall I would recommend it.

Prompt delivery of the screen and well packaged. It is fairly heavy to carry about but with a good handle and sturdy case. It is well balanced when at full height and very easy to put up, basically just what we need for projecting onto. Quite right about the smell, overpowering and so like others we left it up for a few days in an airy place and this has eradicated it pretty well. Have to mention the instructions which came with it -not written by a native English speaker! An example “the intermission in the middle of upper level is the normal phenomenon which can increase the resilience when extend or lessen it. Please avoid to folding the screen for fear that the pucker..” Well it gave us a laugh if not an explanation!

I am thrilled with this screen. I teach people to paint and use PowerPoint presentations to explain different aspects of painting and to show examples. This screen is perfect fo the job. It is easy to erect and take down and is very transportable – just put it in the back of the car. I have 18 students and I think the screen is ideal for an audience of around this size. Fantastic.

Very easy to use and portable so less time spent trying to mess about with tripods etc. Nice and secure in its case so no damage in transit/storage.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased this screen for use with a new 1080p projector and it works perfectly.

Arrived well packaged and the box itself has two metal clips to keep it locked up. Once opened and the feet turned outward (I forgot to do this initially and wondered why the screen kept wobbling) the screen simply pulls up and stops exactly where you stop pulling. Sturdy, gives a great background for the projection and folds away very easily too.

Overall you can’t go wrong with this screen!

Had the screen now for a couple of months, before I bought this I had the electric motor type attached to the wall,
didn’t like it attached to the wall, so bought the floor standing projector Screen.

When not in use, it’s behind the door, the screen it’s self is everything I need in a projector screen, the black box it is housed in
has a very strong feel to it, extending the screen from the box is a one finger operation,as is pushing it back in.
I am very pleased with is, a tiny gripe is the smell from it, however it does fade, leave it up in a well ventilated area for a week or so and
    the smell is vastly reduced.

You could do allot worse, picture is very good, good colour,
    Price is great, recommended.

The screen was bought for a friend, who is very pleased with the product.
In fact a group of us watched the closing ceremony of the Olympics on the screen.

Got there in the end. First screen was marked in a very visible area and Duronic agreed to replace it – eventually. Replacement screen is perfect however and really pleased with it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was delighted with this screen. It is very solidly engineered and retracts into its own attractive carrying case. Although more expensive than tripod screens, it’s worth paying the extra for the increased flexibility, ease of use and transportation, and convenience of the freestanding type (and it doesn’t make holes in the carpet!). Just put it down anywhere, rotate the feet and open the case, and the built-in pneumatic system almost raises the screen for you. Takes about 20 seconds. The maximum height, which places the centre of the screen about 4ft 6in (137cm) above floor level, is ideal for most purposes; alternatively place it on a table.
It smells a bit (they all do) but perhaps this disappears with use. The instruction sheet (computer-translated from the Chinese?), if you really need it, is hilarious: ‘Please mitigate the strength whenever you pull or repossess the screen and diminish the handling speed’ and ‘If there’re some blot in the surface of the screen, can wipe off by the soft cloth with less water’.

Sturdy, ingenious design. Quite light to carry, fits into the car. Good for presentations. Can put onto a desk for larger venues.

I purchased this screen to replace my old screen that had become stuck for good. This is a very different design but so easy to erect and use. I use this for quizes that I run at different venues and it’s is easy to transport but check that it will fit into your vehicle if you plan to use it out and about as it’s very long! Like others the initial smell of paint is off putting particularly in a small venue but it does go eventually. This really is a big screen but in a hall or club I still have to stand it on a table which I didn’t with the older and convential designed projector screen.

Overall this is a great product and is simplicity itself to erect.

I was looking for a screen that was large enough but easy to transport and operate and gave me a few options for set up ie floor standing or higher up by using stools or tables the style of this screen appeard too and does give me the flexibility I was looking for.Delivery was quick and the goods well packed, a small hole in the cardboard box packing was pointed out by the driver and he said he would wait until I had inspected the goods inside to see that they were not damaged. Kit exactly as descibed with easy operation.I purchased this screen for both home and lecture use, only home use as yet but I am happy with the results.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersI bought this on behalf of our local history society. We use it to view presentations & films and once for old fashion film slides.
It works extremely well and for the money is a bargain. Beware the actual size is huge and storage can be a problem but it is worth it. The whole thing unpacks and packs up with simplicity and the telescope bracing on the rear works very well. Having its own attached case is a bonus.
It would have been nice to have a mechanism so that the feet flip out automatically but hey, at this price it would be unlikely. You only forget to put them out once.
We use it in a hall and even placed towards the back of the stage, (to reduce light reflections from unmasked windows), anyone can see the large display.
