Best one I have found so far. It does leave a small gap of dust around the edges.
Overall good though. Picks up well. Looks like you do a lot of hoovering as opposed to sitting watching the hoover.

As yet has never failed to return to charge. Need one for upstairs really but, price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe mapping in this robo is amazing, it can map each individual area which gives it capabilities to navigate to these areas if you want to have just 1 room clean.

The suction is good so far, picks up almost everything.

The mopping is pretty decent, if you do it just once. I usually mops the entire floor twice(first with high water flow and then with lowest water flow) which makes it better.

Have been using this for a month now and fully satisfied.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersAs an 11 year old I used to love lazing in bed listening to my mum hoovering, the mixture of the white noise & the bliss of being one of 6 kids who was not on hoover duty that day, roll on 53 years later and that feeling is back. Except now it’s 3 cats instead of 5 siblings making the mess, it’s ‘Jeeves ‘ doing the hoovering instead of my mum ( now I don’t have to pretend to be asleep)
Jeeves arrived yesterday, he was easy to setup and the app worked fine, connected to Alexa with no problems. I let him do his own thing yesterday so he could find his bearings, I tried out the mopping option on the kitchen floor and was impressed, before I went to bed I popped things up out of the way, chairs on the table, cables off the floor, shoes in the rack.
I woke early today, nipped down & made a coffee, opened all the doors and gave Jeeves his orders, then went back to bed with my coffee & cats.
Jeeves did a full sweep of the downstairs this time & saved the map, it was easy to edit this and mark off a little section I didn’t want him popping his nose into.
And it was bliss lazing in bed, watching him on the app doing his thing. I’ve had 2 operations on my hand & shoulder, and more ops to follow, so I feel this is a justified expense;)
I just need a robot to feed the cats now.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis hoover has literally changed my life. No seriously! The suction on it is amazing, always collecting dust, and I have carpet! I’ve read some robot hoover has trouble with thresholds, but I have on between my kitchen and living room and it doesn’t have any issue at all! This hoover gets right into the corners with it’s sweeper arms. I love that it comes with a mini brush and cutter to help clean the rotar where hair can get caught. Honestly couldn’t live without this.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis was our first robot hoover and it’s been a brilliant purchase so far. Super easy to set up and use. No issues connecting to our Sky Wi-Fi. It’s been a revelation and not sure why we didn’t purchase one sooner. I’d thoroughly recommend. The virtual boundaries are a must to prevent her (we named her DeeDee) from hoovering up our cats and dog food bowls. Also I put up boundaries around a fragile light or areas she might get a bit stuck. Also against our french doors as the glass means it’s hard for her to detect a barrier. Noise wise it’s pretty quiet as we have her on most mornings before we get up. Definitely very impressed! I need to empty her everyday- but we do have two cats, two kids and a dog! Wish I had forked out more for the self emptying one now but maybe will get that next.. you can do two or more floors with this robot but I think we will end up with a robot For each floor in the end as it’s a hassle moving her around. Very impressed overall.

This machine is amazing. The vacuum part is strong and able for a family home. I had swept the floor a few times in anticipation as there was cereal and other bits on the floors from the kids. Check out my photo on how much it lifted after the fact. I have hair to my waste and I’d left some on the floor to see if it would get stuck. It didn’t. The mop version is very good but you only use water. I have added detol for a good safe clean. You do need to change out the reservoir thing but that fine for me. I set it to mop in the night.
The app is super and straight forward. Look all in all I love this thing my life and easier and it’s one less thing to worry about. I am tempted to but a second one for upstairs so I don’t have to lift it up and dow

Hoe did I love without it ❤️

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDoes the job really well. Vacuum only and mop function. Ground floor hard floor gets mopped, rinse out the mop mat afterwards to clean the dirt off. Negotiates round tables and chairs most effectively. I have the charging station on ground floor and this allows it to save a map to the app. Map shows the route it has covered. Vacuums carpets on first and second floors well. Map created and route displayed during vacuuming but not saved as charging station would need to be moved to relevant floor to give it a reference point. This is not a problem. Just put it on the first or second floor carpet and it figures it all out, negotiating coffee tables, under sofas, under beds. App easy to use. Set up instructions OK. Only issue is to make sure there is enough space either side of charging point, 0.5m. I had to move charging station away from a corner wall a little. It would not return to charging station until I made that adjustment. It stopped a short distance from the station and spun around. Once I moved station it found it OK and has always found it since. Have to recommended this product, does a good job.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was always sceptical of these but saw a great deal on this so gave it a go. It’s the best buy I could have imagined. Maps the house on the first run and then follows a linear route to clean the floors. When you add the mop it knows to avoid rugs. You can put this on and leave the house and everything is clean when you come home. Really clever and well designed. Occasionally gets confused when you move things around but all in all it’s really good. The mop won’t deep clean, it’s more of a soft wipe but if you do it every couple of days, the floors are sparkling.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis is absolutely EPIC. We have a new house cleaner and pet. Our new family addition is a clever little thing. 🙂 We have named him BOB haha. He worked out quickly after ‘mapping’ out the lounge etc exactly where he can and can’t go. He has a laser sensor so knows when obstacles are there so no bumping into stuff. We are pretty lazy tbh so don’t take the time to move chairs up on the table etc we just let him do his thing around all our stuff. Only thing we do move now is cables and wires. The set up is very efficient – step by step the app spelled out easily what to do next. The mapping showed an ingenious detailed diagram of our whole bungalow. You can set zones easily on the app so avoiding certain places and you can choose where you do or don’t mop. The large black plastic side part is the water holder and inside the lid is the dust collector. The mop attachments are easy to swop and clean. So Bob just does his magic now ! We have only had him a few weeks but we have grown very fond of him. He has very big bouncy all terrain wheels which move over our rigs without any issues and the only thing he didn’t like was we had a large thick mud trapper mat on the front door so just changed the app settings so that’s now off his course. I just bang it outside. The mopping is actually way better than I expected even though it’s only water inside the tank; because we mop every day now there is no build up of muck so tbh water is enough. Once a week I’ll get the wood burner floor wash and shine stuff and give it a quick flick but I’m so chuffed that the every day cleaning makes the house look so much better – absolutely in love with our little robot. He’s not loud at all and even on powerful hoover it’s not noisy like our normal hoover ! Always wanted one and as a Xmas gift to myself I got it at a good pre Xmas price. Oh mopping doesn’t leave the floor ‘wet ‘ it dries fast too. Really lovely gadget that actually does exactly what I hoped it would and I can come home to a clean house with zero effort. LOVE i

Enormous fun and useful we have a new pet!

We have had the N8 since 14th Oct (10weeks) and generally we be like it. Would I buy one again yes

    Plus points
Our house is cleaner than it has ever been simply because with the robot we can set a schedule and it’s done daily. Which is masses better than me getting up at 6am on a Saturday clearing the rooms to mop and sweep then putting it all back again. Now I do this monthly instead of weekly.

It’s very sensitive to obstructions, it slows right down and just barely touches the obstruction to confirm it’s real them works around it.

    Set up was very easy.

    Very Quiet.

    Minor Minus points
Remove the tank empty and clean the mop plate every time.
Empty the hover box every 2/3 times
Doesn’t get into corners as well as I hoped it would

Naming of map area’s can’t be done all you can do is put a silly icon on the area which is to small to see

You can only edit the map that is in use, so to edit the upstairs map, you have to take N8 upstairs and have it start a cleaning cycle before you can start.

Using with Alexa is poor, you can tell it to clean the whole area and that’s it, maybe an Alexa app issue but whatever it needs work.

    Major minus points
The app is very poor, not intuitive at all. The basics clean the whole area no problem, but map management is not easy to find. Two and a half mints in I can find things mostly and it’s hard to remember specifically what I struggled with but I remember being very frustrated.

It gets stuck on our rug, and the door mats, they are only 2/3mm high but with the mopping plate installed it can’t cope.

    Over All not bad

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally good, I use mine daily, it’s amazing how much it actually picks up. The negatives are that it needs the docking station to be plugged into the mains for the machine to find it and return to it after cleaning has finished, this means if you want the upstairs doing you need to unplug and move it around. other than that I am thinking of getting a second one for the upstairs.

This vacuum is saving me a lot of time and energy. It is great on both hard floors and carpet and the little brushes flick out dirt from edges. I was surprised at how much dirt it picks up in the dustbin inside. It’s easy to empty and the brush is easy to clean. It cleans under beds and furniture that have enough height for the vacuum to fit. My house is quite large so I usually use the Custom setting as the battery doesn’t last long enough to just let it go do its own thing. I have only used the mopping setting a couple of times due to the battery not lasting long enough after it has vacuumed. This aside, I am very pleased I bought it and it has taken the chore out of floor cleaning for me. Wish there was a robot that dusts too!

This is a great cleaner. In my home it predominantly cleans hard flooring, but it does a great job on carpets too. The mop is pretty good, but I suggest you give your floors a really good manual mopping and then keep on top of it with this mop. The app is great, the control features for each room, such as suction speed and mopping saturation is excellent. My only gripe is it’s like a lot of robo vacs in that it can struggle to find its way back to charge. Seems like such a simple thing to correct. It does eventually find its way back but not in a very logical way.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have been eyeing up l a robot vacuum for a long while, however I could never justify the outlay. In particular, it was important for me to have one that mapped the room rather than randomly covered the room.

I bought the deebot N8 as I’d seen some excellent reviews for it online and the price hit my bighting point. I wish I had bought one sooner.

The vacuum was incredibly easy to setup after it was taken out of the good packaging. The hardest part was clicking in the side brushes and choosing where to put it. According to the manual it needs to be placed against a wall witb 0.5m clearance either side and 1.5 m behind it.

Multi floor mapping was enabled by default and the app was very easy to use. It is now part of the routine that I put the dining room chairs on the table before going out and tidyup any loose cables on the floor. I then set it off on its merry way to cleanup the Weetabix and debris from the kids’ breakfast.

It’s definitely better on tiles but we have been surprised at how good it has been on carpet. It initially picked up a lot of hair and I had to clean the roller, which was very easy – pops out and you use the supplied cutter. I have to do this less frequently now and I’m now hoovering a few times per week as it makes the process so simple.

The vacuum can be triggered using the app or by pressing the button on the machine. The main advantage of the app is that you can choose where to clean using preset areas, or custom areas.

It’s also been good not falling down stairs but to be sure I have since used the app’s virtual boundary feature to prevent it going to close to stairs.

It really isn’t good with cables or debris on the floor so you need to ensure it has a clear path. Otherwise it can get tangled and stuck. However if this does happen, you get a notification to fix the issue before it’ll continue.

We’ve only had it a short while but I love it. It will be interesting to see how it performs over time but so far so good. It’s not as good as my Henry but it’s so much more convenient and easy to use that I feel my house is cleaner.

Also a special mention to the deebot support. I could hear the radar tracking spinning after my first couple of cycles and contacted them for help. They were amazing responsive and helpful. In the end the issue resolved itself and I believe I introduced it when mucking around with the maps.

I love this machine .so easy to set up .I have only had this for 4 days and already I would not like to be without it . It does a great job of the carpets and wooden flooring in the kitchen and hall . Goes right up to the edges and collects dust and dirt etc. I did not think it could be so efficient but it has made my carpets etc look like new again . I know I have only had the machine for a short time so can only judge it on the last 4 days but I think it is great . I was very impressed on the amount of dust and dirt it gathers and did not realise there were so much dust in the carpets until I used this great product . I would highly recommend it to anyone if the last 4 days use is anything to go by on its performance.

I can’t believe it took me so long to buy one and I have to say it’s far excelled what I imagined! My home feels so much cleaner and tidier (kids have to pick things up off the floor every day!) I’ve barely used my normal vacuum since I bought it and it had drastically reduced my cleaning time. Hand down, without doubt one of the best things I’ve bought. I bought it at les than half price 239.99, but I would consider buying it at a higher price. Easy to use via the app and easy to maintain. I empty after every use which is no hardship.

This thing is so good that I’ve actually gotten rid of the wife. . I bought this at a price that I was comfortable paying considering my expectations weren’t that high. We have just had a extension and have put in like stone flooring. The wife told me we couldn’t use the dyson as it would stain the tiles. So with a fat pug in the house the floors became horrendous. Hence I started research and came upon this robovac. There were others that had no mapping facility so this is the reason why I looked at the deebot. But what a product. I have it scheduled everyday at midday and it whirls always for two hours. The amount of s%#^ it pics up is amazing. I would recommend this product. You need to see it to believe it.

Living in a bungalow using a Deebot cleaner is ideal. I can set it running through the app on my phone and off it goes, this leaves me free to get on with other elements of cleaning, but not hoovering Deebot cleans and moves seamlessly from hard surface to carpets and does a really thorough job. My carpets are certainly cleaner than using my upright cleaner, and all those ‘bits’ you miss on the hard floors are GONE. I totally recommend this product.

I think this is one of the best purchases ever made, I really did not expect such incredible cleaning right into nooks and crannies. The hard wood floors looks lovely, clean and shiny and without that film of dust which often appears a while later after either sweeping or hoovering as the Deebot N8 does not emit dust it just sucks everything from underneath. This machine is also quiet unlike a vacuum cleaner, its more like an electric remote control toy car sound, also none of that vacuum cleaner smell after cleaning. Just love it and I dont feel exhausted after cleaning through!

We’ve been using this for around 4 months in a large house – with young kids, dogs and a cat. I really can’t recommend this enough – it’s easy to setup and use and gives excellent results. It might seem like a luxury, which I initially thought, but it does such a thorough job that it’s better than using normal vacuums.

Pros: Gets into the nooks and crannies that you probably miss; doesn’t bash into furniture (the occasional light knock, but it avoids most things); great vacuuming results; wonderful to watch it find its way around; App is very easy to use and stores 2 floors with no problem.

Cons: The initial outlay (wait for the offers that regularly appear!); smallish bin (I didn’t consider the self-emptying version, but I would consider that too expensive for what it does).

We had one early problem where the roller needed replacing (a bit of plastic split), but that was done free of charge with no issue by Ecovacs UK.

Overall, very impressed and would recommend. The LIDAR navigation works really well.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersI was looking for a basic robo vacuum but bought this as it was on offer. I’m so glad I went for this one as the laser mapping makes it an outstanding product and really worth the extra bucks over a basic vacuum. The first mapping is crucial so please spend time in picking up things from floor except the furniture and stuff you will never move. This makes future cleanings a breeze. Suction power is very good especially considering my house is fully carpeted except for the kitchen. Emptying the dustbin is very easy and not messy at all.

Laser mapping is excellent and makes cleaning very efficient and quick, do not buy a robo vacuum without this feature. Absolutely love everything about the vacuum, especially considering the price.

The only problem I had was when I picked it up from its base for cleaning. When I was finished, it threw an error that it could not locate itself and kept on trying to re map, which was annoying. I found a solution in the internet, picked it and placed it in a different location and issued command to recharge. It then was able to locate itself and returned to its base, very relieved.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersI already own a couple of Ecovacs robot vacuums and can honestly put them in the top 5 purchases that I have ever made! They do a great job and they save so much time! So, why another? Well, we decided on another to operate solely as a robotic mop. We don’t have the luxury of space and with the kids being young and liking to interfere with things we therefore decided against the series which includes the self-emptying bin. So, we chose this one as there was a big offer on at the time and that it still has the same levels of intelligence (carpet detection, full mapping, virtual boundary) as our current ones do but with a size small enough that we can park it underneath the sofa in the dining room out of reach from the kids.

Once set up using the excellent app, it is ready to go and it will start by constructing a virtual map of the entire floor (I have it running on the ground floor of my house as it is the largest area) – it does this my making its way around the edges of the cleaning area and drawing up barriers and obstacles as it goes – it also cleans whilst doing this. We have a couple of thick rugs in our dining room and it makes it’s way across these slowly but effortessly. It really gets across the hardfloor quickly though. It also highlights the carpetted areas on the map as well as it will avoid those once it starts to mop the floor. It cleans and mops simultaneously and we have it set to just do the kitchen and the dining room hard floors.

The app works well as well. Allowing you to monitor it in real-time. You can also set virtual boundaries on the constucted map. I marked a barrier here to stop it getting stuck between the chair and the telescope in our dining area (area highlighted in orange on virtual map pic). The area covered and duration can be tracked in here as well as the battery life left on the robot mop. The battery life is impressive!

    Another great Ecovacs product.

    Fantastic quality

If this thing had a button for ‘do the washing up’ I would happily marry it lol.
I just set it to go every morning while I eat breakfast. I’ve only had it three days and the Karndean floors look so much better already – I’ve had it mop them once and it doesn’t leave the floor wet at all so would also be great for laminate floors. It knows to increase suction when it gets onto a rug and it even stops when it gets tangled in the fringes and backs up and untangles itself which is more than any manual vacuum can do! It hasn’t chewed up any cables it got into and it can climb quite a thick rug – it almost got over the step to my conservatory so I had to close that door.
Two points against it; first of all, you have to have a smartphone to enable it which is a shame when you think that it would be such a perfect gadget for elderly people who often don’t have the tech. It only needs a simple ‘on/off’ button on the machine itself. Secondly there is NO paper instruction included and while the setup is simple it doesn’t give instructions on how to get it to mop or how to empty the dustbox, you have to look at the videos of it working to find out. Again, it’s simple, but not if you don’t know where to start. All in all I think it’s one of the best gadgets I’ve bought in a very long time

My first robot vacuum and I’m very impressed. The mapping of rooms is really clever. The robot cleans both hardfloors and rugs really well automatically upping the suction power when it’s on a rug. Super simple to setup and get going. Just be careful of leaving things on the floor that can get tangled in the bot like shoelaces, cables, clothes etc. This is the best value robot vac with the latest mapping te chnology. Thoroughly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersThis is the first time I have bought a robot vacuum cleaner, and I have to say I’m impressed.

I saw and online review of this particular model, and I decided to take the plunge straight away. Delivery took a few days. The machine was well packed, though heavier than I expected. Unpacking was simple, as were the instructions. After downloading the app, connection was a fairly simple matter.

First job was to map the area that was to be cleaned – as we live in a bungalow this was relatively easy. We do have a mixture of carpet and floor tiles, and it seemed to work well on both surfaces, even switching automatically between one and the other. You can have multiple maps stored, so if you have different levels in your house, you can set different maps for each level. NOTE: The downside to having different levels is that you will need to move the charger unit each time, though you may be able to purchase just the charging docks, so then you only have to move the vacuum itself. You can set a ‘no-go’ area, as well as ‘don’t mop here’ area, but, as far as I can tell, only one of each per map.

The app is not the most intuitive in all honesty, and for the first couple of times of use, we had to rescue the robot as it does have the habit of trying to go behind the doors, which inevitably swing closed, trapping the robot. You do get plenty of alerts though, so when cleaning is complete, you are always aware of it, as well as an error message like ‘Help, I’m stuck!’, which is good to know if you aren’t on the premises when it is cleaning. If you are in, the robot also speaks to you if it has a problem, which is sometimes disconcerting.

There is a warning message to tell you that the filter needs cleaning, though I tend to empty out the filter every time. You can buy an attachment which automatically empties the machine, which makes up for the relatively small dust holder, but I thought this was too expensive.

Although impressed with the cleaner’s abilities, I was less keen on the mopping function, which I felt really lets the experience down, but hey ho, everything else considered, I’m not too worried about that.

I haven’t used the scheduling options as our lifestyle means there aren’t any regular routines, so I prefer to start the robot off as and when needed.

Overall I’m impressed, and I wouldn’t be without it now. Maybe an improved app would help, but that’s about all.

I couldn’t belive how good this RoboVac as we call it is. It’s brilliant and every home should have one. I don’t think the Dyson has been out since we had it. The mopping is good too and only stubborn marks need our attention. The app is also really good. You wouldn’t believe they could be any good but see one in action and empty it and you’ll be amazed.

Had my first robotvac some 5 years. It was ok for light duties but didn’t have mapping obstacle detection etc. When I watched a review on Stu’s reviews YouTube saying about the N8 and Amazon was offering a great deal I took the bait.

Wow is all I can say. Maps your floor plan first then Hoover’s mops areas that are hard floors. This really is a great vaccum robot. Must be good as the Mrs was always complaining about the old one and since having the N8 she’s never hoovered downstairs.

If you can get a deal from Amazon snap one up.

I bought a cheaper Deebot, but it didn’t pick up black dog hair on my carpets so gave that to my Son who has a white dog. This one however is brilliant on carpet and flooring and picks up that black hair. The mopping function is really good as well although I do wet the cloth with hot soapy water and wring it out before I attach it to the machine. I really can’t fault this machine

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersHonestly did know what to expect, but this little bot has really changed things. It’s easy to set up, just unpack, set it on auto and watch it map your rooms. The app is great, but you need to take some time to get used to it. I would recommend starting simple and work things out as you go.

Love that it can map multiple floors. If moving upstairs, just set off on Auto so it knows you’ve moved it. It takes a couple of seconds to realise, change the map, and then you can ask it to dock. From there it will pick up any schedule you’ve set for the new floor it’s on.

You can custom a cleaning area by setting a box in the app. You can schedule different rooms on a map, you can group rooms based on your preferences. You can set it to clean a room in multiple passes to make sure you get a good clean and you can adjust how much power to use in each room.

No idea about the mop, we have mostly carpets. It fits under my sofa and under my coffee table, and given that it just goes about everyday, my home is much less dusty overall.

Would, and have , recommend to anyone who is interested. One more tip, it won’t find the dock unless it’s switched on. So you may need to remember if you go about turning stuff off at night. It will need to go back on or the bot will wander about aimlessly.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersDownloaded the app and renamed our vac ‘Chivers’ – just for fun!. It is Alexa enabled. From the app it will map out the contours of your downstairs layout and then the middle parts. You can have 2nd map for upstairs. When it is doing initial mapping put it on low suction as it takes a while to do the mapping and you don’t want it to run out of charge. After that the vacuuming is much quicker.

We have big hairy (retriever) dog so thought the vac would be good for hard floors as get lots of fur floating around. I can run the vac (aka Chivers) a couple of times a day and I no longer have to walk on dog fur. My floors have never been so clear. As I let Chivers vac twice daily I just empty him after each go. The first time he vacuumed I had to empty him during as well – I reckon he is better than the Dyson we have! Although use our Dyson on the thick rugs still. Occasionally I have to use the supplied tool to brush out the filter and give the sponge bit a rinse out. Also using supplied tool I occasionally cut some dog hairs from the rotary bit underneath but this is very easy.

I thought I would use occasionally on carpet but would still need to get my old vacuum out but as it turns out Chivers is great on carpets as well. I do have some thick rugs which it can’t get onto to clean but it manages the thinner mats. From the app you can increase or reduce suction power.

It also has a function to mop the hard floors. It hoovers at the front and mops from the back. I tried it but I prefer to get my proper mop out.

I am extremely impressed and so glad I made the purchase especially as it was greatly reduced to almost half price. I love this little robotic and it’s my best purchase this year.

I was sent this to replace a ecovacs ozmo 920 which failed within months of use. I was asked to review this model again soon after I received it, but I have waited to see if it lasted at least more than a few months. Safe to say, its been over 6 months and it has been brilliant.
App is very easy use and the bot seems to navigate most things my house can chuck at it. Suction is extremely good, I am impressed at just how much it picks up from half the house. I am tempted to say on carpet, it probably picks up more than my dyson.
It has been reliable. There has been the odd time, I have had to reset the map, for it to figure out what’s happening all over again.
This is essentially my first robovac and the experience has been brilliant, from dealing with ecovacs (although sometimes slow to respond, the resolution was perfect) to the the actual bot itself. Do I often use the mop function? No, but that has been useful at times, however, don’t expect a proper clean from it dragging a wet cloth around.
    Would I recommend it, totally!

I’ve been thinking about getting a robot vacuum for a while. I’m usually an early adopter of these devices but with the robot vacuum the early reviews tended to be that unless you spent thousands, the suction power wasn’t great and they didn’t do a good job. I’ve a dog who sheds alot, so I have to vacuum a few times a week, and I wanted something that could cope.
So I sat on the fence for years, kept looking at the market leader (iRobot Roomba) but never committed.
And then recently I saw quite a few reviews, including from people I trusted their opinion, about the Ecovacs Deebot N8. With the DToF laser sensor this vacuum is more accurate and with a decent amount of power it will pick up most dog hair. I’ve mostly hard floors but with some rugs. And then I saw it was on offer for 250 and I thought ‘well, I think it’s time…’
My first impressions are very positive. The vac does a good job. I’ve not used the mopping function yet. But I bought it mainly for the vacuuming function. It navigates it’s way round the downstairs, although it doesn’t like the thresholds between rooms – mine are only 15mm in height (tiled floor in kitchen and porch) but that is enough to trigger the front bumper bar and although the laser scanner finds the rooms it can’t get into them. I’ve put a doormat by the porch threshold now and it seems to lift the robot up just enough it can get into that area, but the kitchen is more of a challenge because it’s a curved threshold and it again struggles to get in. Annoyingly there is clearly a way it can lift itself up but there doesn’t seem to be any way in the software to tell it there is a threshold there and to lift itself up a few MM to get in.
But apart from that it finds the rugs no problem and automatically raises it’s power when on the rug to clean more effectively. I’ve also had to be more careful with a couple of cables that were running on the edge of the room as the vac also got a bit confused – and with curtains that are very low to the floor.
But where it cleans it’s clear – it makes a huge difference!
The app on the iphone is also excellent, and I’ve also managed to get the Amazon Echo integration working so I can ask Alexa to vacuum the house should I want it to run between scheduled cleans.
So if you’ve not jumped into Robot Vacuums yet, especially if they discount them again in the future, the N8 is a great entry point.

    This robot is incredible! why?

    – it feels like off-road robot goes through the carpet, uneven tiles, border strips and it feels like there is nothing to stop it.
    – after using it for 2months it did not get trapped in my super small cluttered flat even once. Just recently moved to the big house and this bad boy just gets job done.
    – it does on average 1 square meter per minute with mop attached
    – suction is great even on low settings and the fact that autosense feature changes the suction to max while on the carpet is great
    – mop works great as well and does not leave strikes, make sure to wet the mop before you use it just do t soak it. My lady asks me to send it to the tiled bathroom as she cannot clean gloss tiles without the marks 😉 yes it won’t replace heavy duty mop but if you run it 2-3 times a week normal mop is not needed.
    – navigation is amazing, mine never got stuck and done aroud 40 runs
    – emptying is easy enough and I use compressed air can to blast the HEPA filter for long life and clean it after each use.

Overall I don’t have any complaints about it at all which is rather strange looking at my review history. App is decent as well and as this is lidar model I can send the robot to clean specific area or part of say living room.

I love the fact that you can set the area, wetness of the mop per area and suction range so say hall will be cleaned with loats of water and highest suction settings while bedroom mid suction and least water on the wooden floor.

The only thing to remember is to clean the floor if you have any cables, papers documents etc as it will try to eat those 😉 5mon preparation and set it off when you are shopping or enjoying outdoor patio.

Would I recommend this brand? As I only have robot vaccum I will say yes to Robovac N8 cannot comment on other products but overall after 2 months I could not be happier. Top product for sure

Rather than wandering around cleaning generally, our Deebot cleans specific rooms on demand. The laser mapping is absolutely spot on and so far, early days I know, it has been faultless, with excellent cleaning outcomes. Works seamlessly with Alexa and Google. I haven’t tried the mopping function yet, so cannot comment on that.

This is my third robot vac having previously had a eufy 11c and a Xiaomi 1s. Both previous robots have served me well however the 11c being a dumb robot has its limitations and the 1s although excellent on hard floors, completely fails at carpets which became a problem when we added medium pile carpets throughout most of our home. The n8 handles hardfloors and carpets with ease and while I did not buy it for its mopping feature, this is an added benefit of the robot.

    I highly recommend this robot.

This is my third robot vacuum, and by far the best to date. It cleans in a logical manner, efficiently working it’s way round the rooms. Sunction and cleaning is great and is easy to empty and maintain. It cleans an entire floor in less than 39 minutes and rtunrs to the base. Bagged my unit at half price, so I’m really pleased with it.

I have ME, fibromyalgia, and back pain, so needless to say, I was struggling with keeping my floor clean (amongst other things!). I heard of these robot vacuums and thought it’s something I definitely need in my life. I was prepared to give it a go as weeks would go by and I couldn’t hoover up. With 2 kids as well, I needed to do something about it ASAP.

It was extremely easy to setup. I’m one of those people that wants to use something as soon as it arrives through the door, and I was really pleased that I could get going straight away.

I was able to check the quality of the vacuum with a floor covered in Pringles (see video). At first it seemed like the brushes were just throwing the crisp pieces around the floor, but this vacuum is intelligent enough to know what bits it has missed so, on a random cycle rather than a map of my home, it went over the same bits of flooring and picked up the bits that were thrown around.

In the video, the noise is probably louder than what it actually would have been as a receipt got stuck underneath not long after starting it. So you’ll need to pick up everything off the floor first. The way it glides around the floor and works around obstacles, like table legs, is amazing! The bin is easy enough to empty with a carry handle and no cloud of dust as with my Dyson.

I haven’t yet used it upstairs on thick pile carpet, but on hard floor I will never be using my Dyson again! If you need something to help you from doing manual vacuuming, then buy this today!

Buy it if you're thinking about it!

I don’t like the white but it only came in white.
The vacuum itself is very good.
My old one was rubbish but they’ve come a long way in a few years but the price doesn’t reflect that.
I’ve a lot of furniture in small rooms but it seems to manage well tho it can’t get under some furniture but I can live with that.
It doesn’t really miss bits apart from the odd corner that it can’t get into.
It needs a clean at least every week.
The app is good but instructions on mapping is rubbish but once u figure it out its good.
    Would definitely recommend the brand.

I’ve had it for a few days and it’s absolutely changed the way I think about cleaning, similar to when I first got a dishwasher. Because it cleans daily, there is 0 chance for any kind of grime or dust or anything to accumulate, unlike when you clean every few days or if you’re busy forget to do it for a while. Now there is nothing to worry about, the house is perpetually clean.

In the first day it took a while for it to map everything and it got stuck a few times, but after that and after putting in just one blocker zone under my sofa, it’s been smooth.

Suction is better than my normal vacuum cleaner which was struggling to get stuff out of my thick carpet. The Deebot does it perfectly. What can I say, I can’t believe I didn’t get one earlier especially considering the price.

I like that you set it off and it goes and does it’s thing. it’s good that it alerts you if it needs assistance or emptied. it does a pretty good job, i use it a couple of times a week over the whole house then do a manual hoover run round at the weekend. I haven’t used the mop function yet so cannot comment on that. It is a bit pricy.

This is our first robot hoover, and it’s really good. We have hard floor and carpet, and it manages to hoover both extremely well.

We have dark grey floor tiles, and engineered wood and the mop function really doesn’t cut it. It’s more like damp dusting than cleaning. It leaves the wood streaky, as the mop doesn’t seem to get wet all over.

My only suggestion is that you check the price of the competitors accessories – as a second filter would be useful for when you’re washing the other. I’ve just spent over 50 on an ‘accessories pack’ in order to get a new filter. It seems pretty steep.

Love the hoover though, encourages us all to keep the floor clearer (apart from the dogs who strew toys everywhere) – and if we haven’t managed it copes with going around things. It has got caught on a couple of cables – but just calls out for help, and off it goes again.

Having previously owned a Eufy 30C which was fab as an entry model, I knew I wanted something with mapping and mopping capabilities for my next robovac. Having watched about a million reviews I went for the Deebot N8 based on performance but also price!

The LiDAR mapped my house with no issues on the first attempt (multi floor) and while the app isn’t the most intuitive, I had no issues setting up virtual boundaries, no mop zones etc. Alexa integration worked first time as well.

I’ve been using it for a few weeks and blown away by the difference compared to the cheaper Model I already own. It vacuums systematically, doing the edges first then the rest of the room and shows it’s route on the app. Big fan of being able to see it in real time.

Mopping feature works well but don’t expect it to be as good as a proper steam mop. Having read some advice online, I have found soaking/spraying the mop pad in detergent before use definitely makes it feel even cleaner after a mop. Just remember to take off the mop plate before the next use otherwise it will not go on to the carpet!

Overall, I am super happy with this machine and would recommend it to anyone! If you can stretch to the N8+ with bin attachment then that would be even better – my budget didn’t stretch that far!

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersI am blown away just like any dust in my house at how good this robot vacuum is. It is very quick and easy to set up and I couldn’t help but notice how good the build quality is.
It has two ways to operate, one as a vacuum cleaner and secondly as a mop too. It works just so well, the machine is just so intelligent. It uses laser tech to navigate its way around and it maps your own rooms so it knows just where to go. With the mop function it even knows if it is getting close to carpet or rugs and avoids trying to mop on your rug.
The suction power on this is outstanding and I’m amazed and just how much dirt it lifts. Another point to consider is that this machine operates very quietly for a vacuum cleaner, it just goes about its duties and doesn’t disturb everyone.
I’m very impressed with the technology that you get in this vacuum and at how good the machine works. Great looking machine, great build quality and great performance.

I have back pain so I bought this robot vacuum, I followed it when it built map first time and helped to move things and clean blind point, things goes easier after maps built. You can change the suction power depends how dirty your floor is, it can build two floor maps and can amend itself after each cleaning, it also cleans very well without the map, I just taking it to our loft room and press start, leave for it and rely on it. Also the moping function is good too. Remember don’t install the water tank if you vacuum carpet, it won’t go into the room with carpet when installed the water tank. I liked this little one so much. Helped me to clean house at least twice a week, free my hands and I don’t need to suffer back pain after each cleaning. Thanks ECOVACS. This is my second time to own your little robot, and you never let me down.

I had Ecovacs before & loved it but it failed within the first few months. Returned & bought a different make. Wasn’t nearly as good as the Ecovacs so when I got some Amazon vouchers, I replaced with another Ecovacs but a newer model – this N8. It’s great having Ecovacs again. I send it round the whole house every day & there is no need to do my manual hoover run each week except for places I have set up virtual boundaries for (where there’s likely to be trailing cables & such that I don’t want the bot approaching unsupervised…) Smart mapping is excellent & I have no complaints so far.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThe set-up was relatively straightforward, once I had copied the QR code properly, but I couldn’t get it to work with Alexa. But the App works really well, so that isn’t really an issue.
Once it has done its mapping of the areas you want cleaning, you can then fine tune exactly where you want it to go on future manoeuvres.
Was pleasantly surprised how well the vacuum part worked and it really is much more thorough than I thought it would be. It cleverly knows the difference in the surfaces and adjusts accordingly.
However, the mopping isn’t great. When you think that there is only clear cold water in the tank and minimum pressure on the mop part, it is little wonder that it isn’t really up to the task.
As you are not allowed to use any chemicals in the water tank, I now spray the dirty marks first with a floor cleaning spray and then let the machine loose after that. Seems to work a lot better, but I wouldn’t be confident that it removes really ground in stains.
Overall, I am really pleased with it and because of its height it gets into all the nooks and crannies, I cannot manage.

I’ve always been on the wall with these robot vacuums, but after some contemplation and hours of research I chose the Deebot N8.
On arrival it was very well packaged, and took minutes to set up via the app. After it’s initial scan of my flat, I was able to label my rooms and set a daily schedule. I have tiles in my kitchen, and the mopping feature really makes a difference keeping it looking clean and shiny.

As a full time working mother with 2 young children, cleaning was a huge problem for me. Keeping our house clean was an argument between me and my husband. Thanks to Deebot, there is peace in our home now.
It delivered very well in the package. There were also 10 disposable mopping pads in the box as well as a washable mopping pad. I thought it would be difficult to install but I was wrong 🙂 . I downloaded the app and the steps were very clear and easy.

I have both carpet and tile areas in my house. Debbot’s performance in both areas was great. The size of the dust bin is big enough for cleaning of my 3 bedroom house. It cleans the places that I can’t reach with vacuum cleaner very well. It sweeps the dirt on the corners with its two side brushes, Well done Deebot!

It is possible to schedule Deebot for cleaning. When it finishes cleaning, it returns to the charging unit and sends you a notification.
I can’t imagine my life without Deebot anymore. I can keep my house clean without getting tired and I have more time for my children and my work. I should have bought it before. It is a life-changing robot.

    I highly recommend it!

I chose Ecovacs DEEBOT N8 based on the test results and I’m very satisfied so far, I find the suction power to be amazing despite the relatively low wattage. I have both laminate and carpet and it works perfectly on all surfaces. In addition, it is pleasantly quiet, and the app works brilliantly.

The vacuum also emits particularly clean exhaust air, we often have our 10-month-old grandson round (who likes to explore the vacuum when it’s turned on), so this is very reassuring.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis is my first foray into robot vacuums and I’m not disappointed! The mapping isn’t great, I set it off to map and 3 days later it was still stumbling around the house, then after all that the house still isn’t mapped!

Alexa integration isn’t the best, after many attempts I finally got it to work, but prefer to use the Ecovacs app as I can just setup a custom area and get her (I call her Janice) to work.

The battery life isn’t the best, a full charge only seems t last around 40 minutes, pretty sure the description says it lasts much longer.

The custom setting works best for me, however I wish the Ecovacs app would allow you to save the custom areas, that way I could get Janice to clean the kitchen, or the sitting room etc if we could get that as Alexa commands then I would be very happy!

Haven’t tried to floor wash yet, I’m a bit nervous as my kitchen floor doesn’t like lots of water. I will get there!

Overall, this is a great product even with it’s minimal issues and I’m glad I bought it.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersComparing this to my previous model – the Deebot 920…
My old Deebot 920 gets confused by my kitchen units and keeps on getting lost as it travels through certain areas, resulting in it spoiling the map. The N8 does seem to do a much better job of the mapping, and can navigate its way around the kitchen just fine.
However, the other downfall of the 920 remains in the N8 – it can’t cope with sunlight on a hard floor. The optical sensors underneath get confused if sunlight is streaming in through the window onto my light grey floor. The robot stutters around aimlessly and gets completely lost. This means I have to wait for a cloudy day, close the curtains in the middle of the day, or wait until the evening before I set him going.
Not the end of the world, but it does get a bit annoying!

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersThis is my second Robot Mopping Vacuum, so my comparisons will be against the Mova L600 and this, the Ecovacs N8

The N8 robot vacuum cleaner is good, the pickup is better than I thought robot vacuums would be, so if you are looking for an easy(ish) robot vacuum, then I think you would be very happy with this.

There are some quirks with the Ecovacs App but there are some amazing features too. I have a large room and I want to split it in 4, as I say the Mova can do this… The Ecovacs N8 does not, I could only split the room in two, so not a total disaster, but not great. However, each room you can specify the vacuum speed, water dispensing flow and if you want to vacuum once or twice. So high traffic areas can have a deeper clean whereas light areas a lighter clean, this is a great feature, set it once and go. On the Mova I need to manually change the setting for each room… This feature setting each room should be something you should look for, I promise you will find it useful. There are no mopping zones and virtual walls both of which work well.

I have already mentioned about the quirks on splitting rooms, but I must say that the lidar mapping of the rooms on the Ecovacs is just better than the Mova, which was good also. So the N8 is a step up on over vacuums.

Planning routes and battery life is a bit of a let down, there seems to be some inefficiencies with the route planning, sometimes going over the same spot several times. This wastes battery life, so a modest size ground floor requires a charge on the middle of the cleaning program, but again this is not a disaster as it can remember where is paused and just continue from there. So I set it off and go shopping, work, whatever and when I am back it is all done.

Mopping is no worse or better than the other mopping robot vacuums iny opinion, it is just a damp rag being dragged around, that said I prefer the mopping fitment on the Ecovacs N8.

Overall, the cleaning is great, mapping great, battery life is OK, App has amazing features but is also equally frustrating.

I am very happy with it, but there are still improvements that could make it better but I would highly recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI can classify myself very traditional about cleaning. I used to apply pressure to vacuum cleaner while cleaning my home to ensure carpets are cleaned very well. For a long time, I had question marks about cleaning performance of robot vacuum cleaners, however Deboot helped me to turn all doubts to positive experience.
I can underline that; cleaning performance is highly satisfying. When Deboot complete cleaning, all carpets are perfectly clean, even without any remaining tangled string on.
Assembly, mapping, application and cleaning steps are easy and user friendly. I could easily introduce it to Alexa.
Two brushes in the front, helps cleaning corners. Deboot can reach pretty much area that I struggle. Before Deboot, I used to lie on the floor, try to find proper angle with vacuum cleaner stick for cleaning under the bed. Or I used to change the position of TV unit to clean under and behind it. Deboot can easily clean this kind of hardly reached areas better than I do with vacuum cleaner stick.
I always had hard times while cleaning a shaggy rug and I was not sure if its long yarns may cause trouble with the robot vacuum cleaner. I see that, it works perfectly well with long yarn carpets also. Deboot cleans the rug and does not have any problem with stepping up and down of the rug.
Its dust bin capacity is ideal for our 2-bed house. I remove and empty dust bin after completing the cleaning of whole house.
I highly recommend having one if you don’t want to spend so much time for vacuum cleaning. Deboot makes life easier with cleaning the house instead of you.

5.0 out of 5 stars satisfying cleaning, all positive experience

This a great robot cleaner. First it is going around at the borders and after cleaning the middle area. Increasing suction power when it is on the carpet. If has the mop attached it is not going on the carpet.
    Absolutely love it.

Golden Review Award: 40 From Our UsersWhen you switch to a robot vacuum you won’t want to switch back to a regular vacuum cleaner. When you hear about an added mopping feature… it’s difficult to resist the temptation to upgrade!!!

    Main benefits below:

    1) Saves a massive amount of time on cleaning. No more manual hoovering and mopping, this smart device does it all for you. It does hoovering and mopping simultaneously and leaves the floor nice and clean. When mopping it detects the surface and if it’s a carpet it hoovers it only and automatically increases power suction to max.

    2) Precise Navigation and Customised cleaning. The only thing you need to do is to remove objects that would interfere with the cleaning process. Other than that it’s pretty automated – it cleans the room from one end to the other and if it reaches a dead end, it will turn around. Compared to my old robot vacuum, it’s more precise with the dToF Laser Navigation technology and can detect objects much faster. If for example a toy gets stuck in it, then you get a notification to remove it so that’s also good.

Also if you want to insist on some portions because you know those need a deep clean, then you can draw the area on the map via the app and it will do it for you. If you want it to avoid an area because you have cables on the floor or you don’t want it clean, you can just select the zone from within the app and it ignores it for you.

    3) Compact, easy to store and nice design. It can fit under a TV stand or in the corner of a room. What I also like is that it looks pretty stylish too. The water tank capacity is 240ml so not bad at all considering how compact the device is.

All in all I’m really impressed with the technology and pleased that I can go for a walk whilst the cleaning is done in the background! Forgot to mention that it’s pretty quiet for a vacuum too!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersArrived very quickly and packaged securely. Really easy to connect and set up, with minimal fuss, the commands are simple and easy so anyone can do it. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for this style of hoover as it functions perfectly and its mopping leaves the floors looking brand new.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHad 2 dysons before this and we just thought the technology wasn’t there yet. But it appears dyson hasn’t got it right at all. The mapping is so much better and it gets around so quick! Suction is good although not dyson level. But still picks up an awful lot. We have a cat so mostly medium fur and doesn’t seem to have a problem with that at all. It is bigger than I imagined but still great. Yet to test the mop function.

Golden Review Award: 85 From Our UsersThe DEEBOT Ozmo N8 is a very intelligent robot vacuum that does a very impressive job. The robot looks great, takes very little time to setup and once setup can really be left to it’s own devices and does all the cleaning for you.

The device can be used as a vacuum or as a floor mop and it actually does a very impressive job. It’s very smart so it goes around and maps your house after which you can use the phone app to control it, tell it to go to certain locations and it’ll give you cleaning reports on it’s performance.

What I really love is that it detects objects and makes a note of them on the map so you can remove them at the end of the cleaning cycle after which it’ll go back and do the spots it missed.

It’s got edge protection, you can set off limit areas so that it leaves your phone charges alone but it really is very impressive, very effective and very intelligent. Love i

Golden Review Award: 87 From Our UsersAbout 4 years ago I bought our first robot vacuum cleaner with mapping (a Xiaomi Mi) and we’ve never looked back. The vacuum, affectionally known as “Terry” has worked tirelessly everyday to keep our floors and carpets clean, and been a real revelation that’s let to us buying several more as gifts for family. However, now after 4 years of service it’s finally time to let Terry go as time, and more importantly technology, has moved on and we needed one that was capable of mopping as well.

First thing is understanding that not all robot vacs are created equal, and it’s very much a case of getting what you pay for. Before we got Terry we briefly had one without mapping, and it just blindly bumped it’s way around a room without doing a great job at all. Then Terry arrived with his fancy laser mapping and it was like night and day. Now with the the Deebot and it’s TrueMapping laser mapping things have been turned up a notch as it’s incredibly accurate and efficient when plotting the best way to tackle cleaning.

Setting the vacuum up is easy enough. Unpack everything, clip the side brushes in and plug the charging station in. Download the app (there’s a QR code on the vacuum or just search the store for it) and then add the vacuum to the app (again via a code to sccan) and that’s pretty much it. The app itself is pretty decent, easy to understand and with a clear map display. It’s also easy to set no-go zones for the robot. There’s smart device integration too – I use it with Alexa but it also supports google home.

The Deebot is a lot more powerful when it comes to vacuuming – 2300Paof suction power compared to 1600-1800 on our previous one, and as a result it’s certainly no slouch when it comes to standard cleaning. Another improvement it dual sweeping brushes as opposed to the single one on a lot of models. It was the mopping we really got this for, and I’m happy to safe it’s briliant. It has carpet detection so won’t be getting your new carpets all wet, and you can set no-mopping zones etc in the app. The carpet detection allows it to boost power for cleaning carpets and drop it for hard floors etc, switching between 3 x power modes, and it works perfectly.

The mopping function switched between 4 levels, so the tank (despite looking a little small on first inspection) more than lasts enough for a number of cleans for us. In terms of running time you are looking at just shy of 2 hours in one go, which should be plenty unless you are lucky enough to live in an absolutely huge house (and in which case it’ll go back to charge mid-way then carry on anyway).

This was quite a big investment for us, but as I said at the beginning you do get what you pay for in terms of features and functionality. We wanted one of the best, with strong suction power, clever mapping and good mopping, and this delivers on all fronts. We’re sad to see Terry being retired but this replacement just beats him in every department. The king is dead, long live the king.

    Top notch cleaning and mopping!
