Elden Ring Launch Edition (Xbox One)
The Golden Order has been broken. Rise, Tarnished, and be guided by grace to brandish the power of the Elden Ring and become an Elden Lord in the Lands Between.
ELDEN RING, developed by FromSoftware Inc. and produced by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc., is a fantasy action-RPG and FromSoftwareâs largest game to date, set within a world full of mystery and peril.
STORY OUTLINE
In the Lands Between ruled by Queen Marika the Eternal, the Elden Ring, the source of the Erdtree, has been shattered.
Marika’s offspring, demigods all, claimed the shards of the Elden Ring known as the Great Runes, and the mad taint of their newfound strength triggered a war: The Shattering. A war that meant abandonment by the Greater Will.
And now the guidance of grace will be brought to the Tarnished who were spurned by the grace of gold and exiled from the Lands Between.
Ye dead who yet live, your grace long lost, follow the path to the Lands Between beyond the foggy sea to stand before the Elden Ring.
And become the Elden Lord.

What a great deal. So much more with this package then the standard edition. And a great price too. My son was thrilled.
Hello FromSoftware provides Gamers with the best Lore and content Free of MTX Gamers have embraced this amazing game the culmination of 20 years of experience FS has remained true to its goals best Game Ever and you’re amenesiac so everything is Discovering it’s Magic but be ready to feel like an appetising meatball wondering amongst famished Wolves
Probably the best RPG ever made, far more fun than Skyrim. The game runs fine after you apply the 4 game patches. The game gets easier when you level up your player stats, amour, swords, summons and use multiple damage increasing Buffs at once. If you fund an area that is too hard for you just run away using your horse and come back later.
Easily the best game I’ve played in past couple of years
This is the most amazing game ever made. End of.
One of the best games I have ever played – would recommend to anyone, a must play!
Awesome game is very hard but that’s what to expect from a souls like game still amazing though! Would highly recommend in buying!!!!
Huge open world game and very frustrating! Once you get used to it it’s very addictive. You will die, A LOT, but once you get levelled up a bit you can start to make head way and revisit areas that kicked your arse!
Honestly, easily one of the best games that has been recently released.
Imagine Dark Souls, but with an open world that actually feels great to explore. The combat is great and the death is plentiful. Sure, there’s still some “how the feck did that even hit me”, but overall the game feels pretty… Rewarding?
I’m not sure it’s a game for everyone, but being able to pick your battles much more freely in this one makes it an excellent staring point for souls like games.
Beautiful presentation, wide variety of enemies and areas to explore. You’re thrown in and can play how you’d like to. Well over 100 hours for a single playthrough. It is a tough game that you will need to think about how to win each encounter. Death is a good learning tool
Game worked fine but game box card covering was squished and slightly damaged. This is because I ordered something else too and the person packing the two items together should have thought to pack them separately in this case
Great games , massive world , has issues with input lag but nothing any souls veteran won’t be able to deal with, some repetitiveness but overall an amazing game that pushes you to get better to beat i
I’m new to fromsoftware games and never played a game like this. I was intrigued with the hype and watched a couple of streamers play it and decided to cop. The game is hands down the best game I’ve ever played. Its only hard if you’re not willing to learn and don’t explore the world as intended. After 165 hours I finally beat the game. Its huge and theres still parts I missed. I don’t usually like replaying games but I will definitely replay this over and over again.
The art and detail, especially playing on the series X in 4K is incredible. Even the soundtrack is beautiful.
The special launch edition items are cool too, especially love the patch and the cards displaying only a fraction of the incredible detail and artistic effort that has gone into this game.
Truly deserves the 10/10 rating and game of the year status
Having only briefly played souls like games before, I thought I would give this a try…especially as the reviews were incredible.
This game will drag you in and beat you down with sadistic pleasure.
You have to “get gud”
If you spend time on exploring and building up your character ,you will soon find the enemies that made your life a misery at the start are getting easier.
There is an almighty grind to this game but I generally use the pattern of grind-explore-die-repeat.
Stunning vistas (the in game artwork outweighs the graphics fidelity)
Weird and wonderful weapons and bosses that can be stupidly hard (I’m looking at you fire giant)
Amount to a game you can put in 100’s of hours without realising it.
One of the best games in modern gaming times…
I love it!
From software have created a thing of beauty – deep, complex, involved and often challenging.
Sekiro alienated many players with its insane difficulty- Elden ring will attract a broad spectrum of players of all ages and skill sets.
Such a good game, the fact its not a spoon fed here you go game you can casually walk through, makes each epic boss fight success, a euphoric moment. Honestly if you haven’t got it, just buy the damn game, so so good. Just read guides etc and you’ll progress no problem!
Really nice packaging comes with post cards I really like the game 8.5 out of 10
I would happily pay double the RRP to play this game it just keeps on giving. Couldn’t recommend this game highly enough. The witcher 3 was my GOAT game until this masterpiece arrived.
What a game indeed. I love the soulsbourne series and this just tops it up. Love the freedom of movement the fact that you can skip some bosses if you struggle and come back later. I have 90 hours into the game and i still haven’t completed it. If you like the grind this game is for you.
Looking for a challenge you’ve found it.
Amazon must love selling this game as people are no doubt breaking Monitors and controllers in Rage.
The upsell
After been a souls fan for many many years I thought it was near impossible to top what had already been done but it would seem elden ring is the conclusion to what the dark souls series has done so far and its mind blowing, absolutely huuuuge and full to the brim with dark souls goodness. 100% game of the year. . . . For now and always.

Elden ring is the best value for money game you could buy.
Elden Ring is huge, beautiful, and immensely satisfying to play. It takes the old faithful Dark Souls formula and expands on it, with a few new additions to make things more convenient (a map with markers and beacons, fast travel), and more of what we loved from the previous games.
Elden Ring is maybe easier to get into than the older Souls games – running away is now a more valid tactic, thanks to your horse – but don’t let that fool you. The classic From difficulty is still here, and you’re just as likely to die from a handful of imps as you are facing off against a god.
The game’s world is massive, varied, and filled with content. There’s always a risk with open-world games of them feeling empty, but in Elden Ring there’s something worth looking at nearly everywhere you go. The characters you meet are interesting, the world is fascinating to explore, and the gameplay is fantastic. I haven’t even got to the first real boss yet – I’ve just been exploring.
The bonus goodies that came with the pre-order edition are great, some nice little bits and bobs to keep and look at.
This game is very good however if you have never played a souls game, it can be quite challenging and frustrating at first but take your time and just explore if you get stuck at a certain part of the game.
Where every other game fails, this excels – no micro transactions, no loot boxes, no pay to win, working at launch, amazing level design, art style is amazing, character design/enemy design is unbelievable – the game is difficult and the game is just monstrous in size – 70hrs in and I am not close to completing , just so much to explore and be amazed at. It’s a must buy, simple as that.
I was never a big Darksouls player but I really love Elden Ring. It is hard, but if you are really struggling in an area or with a boss, then chances are that you are not supposed to be there just yet. Go and explore, level up, get some good weapons, new spells and then try again.
The world is amazing, so imaginative, detailed, vast and beautiful to roam around. The sense of scale is impressive
Combat is easy to learn, but hard to master (dodge, parry, etc.). Once you do master it, the flow of battle is so much better. You are rewarded (with satisfaction) for putting in the effort to master combat. To finally kill that boss or mob of soldiers that have been kicking you down the road is sweet.
The game gives you plenty of ‘help’ in battle with skills that you can equip to your weapons, spirits you can summon, buffs you equip and even NPCs that you call upon.
I’m about 30 hours in and have not even tackled the main first boss. I’m too busy exploring and enjoying the world and monsters I’m coming across.
The story is not that forthcoming, but I think that has more to do with me exploring rather than following the main quest line.
I’ll be playing this for a while as have not enjoyed a game this much in a while. Give it a go, just know that you start weak and you’ll need to take your time to become the sword-wielding/spell-slinging badass you want to be, you will get there.
FYI – Playing on Series X and it runs great. Nothing of note that is affecting my enjoyment.
Dream mashup of Dark Souls, Metal Gear Solid and Zelda Breath of the Wild gameplay elements with deep Dark Souls like world style lore.
The players playing skill determine a lot of your success, this game has a great focus on exploration and tactical combat.
If you are easily frustrated this game is not for you but if you like a challenge then this is a happy haven.
I feel my initial review of elden ring may have been a bit harsh/hasty. Although I loved the setting and world, one of the best looking open world settings ive seen in a game.
I seemed to be having a bit of a boring time trudging through it. I couldnt understand all the 10/10 reviews I got to a point in the game where i was just like this is just boring.
I put the game down for a while but again seeing all the reviews coming in i was like surly this cant be the same game Ive just put 40 odd hours into.
In the end i got talking to some of the fromsoftware community they gave me a few bits of advice and pointers which could may be change my exspiriance. So i thought ill give it another try.
So relecutantly the first thing I did was re rolled my chareter from a sorcerer build to a melee build literaly straight away i felt an improvement in the game.
I usualy play supporting roles in Rpgs either the Tank/or ranged caster support. The truth is i feel on reflection. The way from software has built the sorcerer class was just not for me I was just to stubborn to change. My issue not the games.
A few other initial issues I had were once you found a quest giver/class trainer was it was sometimes hard to remember where you found them and their questlines could be very hard to follow.
So There were definatly a lot of balance issues. One of my big issues with playing the sorceree was it didnt encourage you to use new spells as their damage tended to be inferior to a lot of the starting spells and cost a lot more fp meaning you were literaly stuck using glintstone pebble most of the game.
It looks like fromsoftware lisTened to the fans and in the new patch have adrressed a lot of these issues. So hats of to them.
I still dont feel Id put this in the bracket of masterpice. But I wouLod say it IS a very good game, Better than bloodbourne/Sekiro Im not sure Its closs
The advice id give. Is if your strugling, watch some on the you tube vidsa I found a lot of them very imformative, get involved in the elden ring community theirs a lot of decent people out their ready to welcome new players ro the from software franchise. It certainly helped change my exspirance of the game.
Also dont be frightented to try out multiple play styles to find the one you enjoy the most. This alone can vastly change your in game exspriance
Im know running around elden ring rocking 2 heavy colosal weapons in full heavy armour having a blast.
Do you like RPG’s? How about one where you’ll die lots?
This is FromSoftwares Elden Ring Launch Edition, includes poster, prints, stickers, patch and 1000pts to spend in the Bandai Store (won’t get you nada).
If you are a big fan of RPG’s then this is for you, it takes all the bad / good from Dark Souls, adds in some Elder Scrolls Online and then top off with some Kingdom Come Deliverance. You have a choice of character class who you will need to increase stats (one point per level) through playing and gaining experience (runes), the stats are much like D&D but a little dumbed down. Whether you want to tank or use magic, the choice us yours. But I do wish I’d chosen Samurai now, purely for the katana from start ha.
The runes can be spent as currency or put towards levelling up. So you can take a few paths levelling up, by playing n killing, dying n respawning loads. Or by farming materials and selling. Or you can just roam round the massive map, exploring. There are no rights and wrongs in this game.
One thing that is odd, is the lack of detailed tutorial, it more or less throws you in the deep end, which can be very frustrating but also satisfying when you find stuff out. I found myself asking mates or looking on YouTube for advice, just for menial stuff like crafting or even arming torches or bow or shield to quick menu.
After 20hrs I’m upto level 41, I’m in no way nails, I still die a lot and yes, I still run away.
This game is frustrating, sometimes madening, but overall it is sublime when something works out.
OK the graphics, animations and NPC AI are not that great when you’ve been playing ESO or KCD, but it’s early days and will only get better. But don’t get me wrong, they are still good.
Overall I’d definitely recommend this game if you want to throw your marriage, ignore yer kids and smash 20 controllers. But believe me, it’s worth it purely for the messages folk leave round the world, yes, we are all school children deep down.
Right off to ride Torrent and trying hard to not accidentally keep pressing dismount FFS.
Tagline says it all! (Only joking)
A sterling effort from the Fromsoft team once more. The incline of skill, the beautiful graphics, the plethora of character building options, as well as the deep dark lore.
In short; masterpiece.
GOT for me, I’m a causal RPG fan and the first few hours a hard going but stick with it and you won’t put it down. Never played a souls game before and I now regret it. Absolute masterpiece what modern gaming should be!!!
It’s a souls game. Enemies are tough.
You’ve got to watch them
Be quick.or be dead!
This game is a masterpiece through and through. Game of the decade.
It’s basically dark souls without being dark souls in a massive open world and I mean it’s massive.
What can I say about this game, the hype was real lemme say as much
one of the best games I have ever played. people who are complaining about difficulty need to git gud
Lives up to the hype. It is a hard game but it’s brilliant. Don’t listen to any of the one star reviews on here. Just buy it.
Going to be one of the all time greats. Accessible for newcomers and veterans alike.
First off, I wasn’t expecting all the bonus items: stickers, cards and posters. I had ordered this ages ago as soon as I’d read who was involved and didn’t really read the fine print. Opening it up, I got that same sense of joy I used to get from opening LP’s when I was a kid.
So far, it’s difficult to assess George R, Martin’s contribution except the dialogue doesn’t feel like poorly translated Japanese and the story isn’t quite as nonsensical. I’m sure the lore will get more interesting once I’m deeper in to the game.
As far as the fun factor goes, there’s still that element of masochism that fans of the franchise seem to enjoy, but a lot of the more boring and frustrating mechanics have been done away with. it just seems like a more streamlined version; the best of what’s come before. I haven’t been playing for long, so I just recently got the spectral steed and can’t see myself getting sick of galloping around on that thing anytime soon. It’s a beautifully rendered open world without any of the depressing claustrophobia I used to feel after a few hours of emerging myself in Dark Souls.
I’m a 51 year old father who doesn’t have a lot of time for video games, but I’ll make time for this. It’s that much fun.
Highly recommended.
This game is nothing short of a masterpiece. Amazing visuals, smooth combat (both melee and magic), beautiful world building and lore. It feels like the best parts of the Soulsborne games and then some put into one game
I am a big fan of the Dark Souls series, and could not wait for Elden Ring to be released. I am only a few hours in but … it’s great to be back. The world seems huge and the horse sorry spirit steed Torrent is a great enhancement over previous iterations. Why do I love it so much? I guess the atmosphere, the mystery (I am trying to avoid consulting any guides), the combat which rewards skill more than hit points or button mashing, the fact that it is genuinely exciting.
All that said, the game mechanics do seem to have a lot in common with Dark Souls. OK, the bonfires are now called Sites of Grace but it’s the same idea: when you rest at a Site of Grace, everything replenishes including your healing flasks, but the enemies also respawn. Further, when you die (and you will) you have one chance to get back where you were and retrieve your Runes (money) but if you fail all the cash in hand is lost. It is not entirely logical since you keep everything else but that’s how it works, just like in Dark Souls.
So it does feel to me very much like Dark Souls 4 which to be clear I am fine about, but do note, if you did not like Dark Souls you are unlikely to enjoy this either. There is no easy mode.
I am playing on an Xbox Series X with strict Nat and for the first day had network status failures but that has fixed itself. It was a bit frustrating waiting for a huge download before being able to fully start play. The launch package is nice though, with iron-on patch, poster, and cards. I think the value for money is excellent, though you will need a Live subscription if you want the online element to work.
The game itself would be amazing if it had been launched properly by bandai namco and From software,On Xbox you can’t play with online features at all and most people are saying the same thing,The frame rates can be really good at times and then judder if you turn quickly,If you have a vrr monitor this probably won’t happen but most won’t have one,If the game is ever fixed properly with a good update in the near future that fixes online for Xbox and smoothes the game to constant 60fps then it will be a 5 star game, this could happen but don’t hold your breath. The game world is wonderful to explore,it’s huge with tons of secrets,It’s not that hard,Play as the mage character,The astrologer, you can kill most monsters at a distance with powerful long range spells and run away or use your horse if they get too close, just run around the first area and level up your character to about 80,find some better armour, use spirit wolves to distract big monsters while you hammer them with spells, start with the golden seed, find other golden seeds and level up your mana flasks to keep shooting spells, easy peasy, try it and it becomes a lot easier,The game is not too hard,it’s about how you approach it.Its a shame it wasn’t launched in a better state although I would still give it 8 out of 10 as it is now and probably a 9.5 if they ever fix it.If you don’t want to play as a magician use the samurai he has a bow and arrow to kill things with and a sword and armour, next best choice for an easier game, avoid sword and shield only characters, you need to attack from a distance to survive and enjoy the game,if you still fail then look on YouTube for tips, there’s hundreds of videos on it already,It’s only hard if you don’t find things out to help you,I still highly recommend the game even offline,I hope they get it fixed soon,so we get what we should. If you want to play with the online features then wait to buy but definitely buy it once they fix Xbox online issue.
Online now fixed and working fine, frame rates holding up well now on series x.I would now say it’s a 5 star game and buy it now.
FromSoftware really know what they’re doing when making their games. Another fantastic souls-like, I’m really enjoying it so far! A real contender for GOTY I reckon.
If you love the Dark Souls series, you’ll definitely love this!
FromSoft may just be the best games company on the planet known for QUALITY AND COMPLETE games that do not base enjoyment from buying skins and showing off but rather from achievement through perseverance, patience and reassessment of your own skills and mistakes.
I come to you here having played and completed Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro. Each game got harder and I never spent so long on bosses (sometimes 2 sessions on 2 days getting mauled by a 3 phase Demon Of Hatred) on NG+3. These games will change who you are as a human being.
I have been playing this game so far for a week now. FromSoft is not going to hand any gamers the achievement of progress on a plate. You have to much like life, figure things out or head on over to see guides and videos which is not wrong. If you really run out of patience early then please grab a walkthrough. It is like going on holiday. You can grab a tour guide or discover it yourself. None are wrong. Depends on your lifestyle and time you have. It could take you a year to complete this.
The game centres on a not TOO complicated although complex story. You are there to become the Elden Lord and previously chaos was brought about to a land of strange monsters and powerful beings and many have died in these struggles.
The combat system here is one of levelling up, sometimes farming, discovering which places you can go to early and which you should avoid. You will learn the hard way in this game. It is not TOO hard, it simply requires a rethink and different direction. i REALLY recommend watching the video on YouTube. Check the photo I added.
I will update later but George R R Martin! Well done sir and thank for taking time to plough your efforts into something that we can relive for a long time without bricks falling on top of the main characters at the end!
Bandai Namco have even been nice enough to put a huge guide to the ENTIRE game and what to do which is really a first for any game. There are a lot of aspects to the game.
