The Emart C stand is good quality especially for the price. It is sturdy and looks good too. I bought it for independent film productions and it works perfectly for my needs. A good choice.

I needed something to hold lights and an iPad for recording video and doing live-streamed presentations. I’ve used some of the lighter weight stands and tripods out there, but I needed to have something that could extend overhead with light and the iPod camera facing straight down. This c-stand has worked perfectly for the past year!
I know some of the pro users have had some complaints, but I haven’t encountered any problem at all. The only thing I would have liked was a little smoother action on the teeth on the clamps. They’re a little stiff, but I imagine with normal wear they will smooth out.
I will definitely buy a second one when I need to expand my setup.

I’ve read over so many stand reviews and I thought this would be a gamble of a purchase. OMG was I wrong. The stand is heavy and solid aluminum. The turtles in many photos on different products show images with non ridged brackets…not the case. The turtles’ grip and hold.

For sure I’d recommend this product!

This c-stand is just what’s needed for lighting.

I use it for a Godox VL-200 and 38″ parabolic modifier and it is 100% stable, even at extended height.

It comes in three sections (feet, main shaft, boom arm) and has two grip heads, one of which has an spigot so you can mount other items .

Really pleased with this, a very safe produc

A little hesitant at first because you watch reviews they tend to over hype things however this was no hype perfect about to acquire 2 additional c-stands

A well made, value for money C stand. Sturdy but not lightweight. Seems to work well, time will tell.

Very well made. I regret not going with C-Stands sooner. Now I understand why the pros use them.

Don’t buy this if you’re looking for lightweight and compact. This is neither. I bought this to ensure my Godox SL60 with softbox and mic boom pole would be safe.

They are. It’s seriously heavy duty.

The first c stand I’ve used without sandbags too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo far so good, used it once and it handled well on a shoot.

What I will note is some people have complained about the arm not holding. There seems to be a plate in in middle of the teeth, I have removed this as seen in the picture so it allows the teeth to properly grip.

I have bought another arm like this from neewer and this did not have this plate. Hence why I removed it as it didn’t make sense as it wouldn’t allow for enough tension.

Great for the price, time will tell on reliability

Well constructed, sturdy and good delivery. The inclusion of the pin for the boom arm is a very welcome inclusion.

Got one of these as a test run to replace the black flimsy ones that often come with the lights or reflectors we need as photographers. I was honestly blown away. This is the first stand of my own that I purchased as an upgrade, and the difference is night and day. I don’t have access to the crazy expensive ones to compare, so I can’t comment on those c stands. But what I can say, is that I’ll be back for 2 more of these.

After reading the comments, some have actual gripes, but majority I think are reaching to justify why “such and such” cost $1000 a stand and why they paid it.

Long story less long, I’d recommend them to any photographer in the market for a stable boom stand. The shaft is thick and girthy, it’s extremely stable and I’ve found no issues with adjusting it. For reference, I put a godox600 with a 48″ deep parabolic on it just to see how it acts. And no issues whatsoever to report.

It may or may not lack some additions more expensive ones have and may not be as shiny or whatever, but for getting the job done? Buy 1 and see for yourself. Something wrong with it? We know amazon will make it right.

I’m impressed with this. It is made with real metal. Amazing quality.
A bag to carry it in would have been good but It is value for money.
Its heavy so there’s no need for a sand bag to weigh it down.

I don’t know how would I lose so much money buying other (Amazon Basics) stands before, but not anymore! This is strong, heavy, and perfect. I’m going to buy at least other 2 or 3 stands like this to replace all of my stands.

Purchased this stand to use outdoors with my flash but have not had a chance to use it.
I have used it indoors with the boom arm and I love it, I’ve done several shoots with it and placed the lights above the model and it held it in place like I wanted, this allowed me to remove shadows when shooting a model from above.

Great C-stand for the value for money. The only thing I noticed the the gobo does not have “teeth” to grip for prevention of rotating the arm. But overall, great c-stand that comes with baby pin.

OK I was skeptical that thisnwoukd be any good for the price.. Exceeded my expectations by a mile.. At the end of the day c stands are big metal pipes that have tension spots… I see no major difference between this and the high end stuff I have worked with… If you k ow how to grip properly you should have no issues here… The one down side is the grooves are smooth in the cross bar attachment.. So if not tighten well u could have some slipping. It is better to have rigid grooves. But these get nice and tight and again proper technique is key

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe build of this stand is very sturdy. And this is the reason why I needed to buy this. The unfortunate thing about the materials used for the stand is that it made the pivot points extra hard to tighten down. When you combine the weight of a softbox with the extension of the stand arm out, these factors create a lot of resistance when tighten down the butterfly wing-nut to keep the light at desired position.
When you properly adjust the feet-stands on the light, the lights work well. If you don’t tighten the pivot point just right, the light will come crashing down.

I ordered the ‘Emart Heavy Duty C Stand Max Height 10ft /300cm, Adjustable Photography Stand with 4.2ft/128cm Holding Arm 2 Pieces Grip Head and Baby Pin for Photography Reflector, Softbox, Monolight’ for review and would like to share some of my thoughts.

I have been using this C Stand for some time now and I would like to first say that this is my very first C Stand so I don’t have anything to compare it with but I can say that this thing is a beast and is very sturdy. It was very simple to set up and I appreciate the fact that it comes with the Baby Pin, which I use all the time with this stand. My only complaint is that adjusting the arms can be a bit of a pain as you really need to loosen them quite a bit, then pull them apart manually to separate the teeth to allow the arm to freely move. Not having had or used a C Stand before, I am not sure if this is a common issue with other brands or not, but I would think that there would be a spring in the arm mechanics that would push the teeth apart when loosening the clamps and make the adjustments a bit easier.
With that said, I still love this C Stand and would highly recommend it, as it is very well built aside from the clamps issue. It is as described, and very heavy duty indeed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my C Stand so I wouldn’t be able to put comparison. However, considering the quality, I wouldn’t try big names that cost much higher. It is well balanced and found no issue with setting it up. Love it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve needed a budget C Stand for a while now. I wanted to get one because this came with the boom arm. I should have got more, because the price went up since then.
The C Stand itself is sturdy. The materials seem cheap. The boom arm feels flimsy, like it might bend with too much weight. The Gobo heads feel cheap. There are no springs in them when you loosen to adjust and I’m afraid of stripping the threading. However, for the price I got it and the stand itself, it’s a steal! I am very happy with it despite my criticisms, but you get what you pay for. If the price drops again, I will definitely get a couple more. As long as you are careful and don’t abuse them, they should hold up. If you can afford better? Get better. If you can’t and need them, get these when they are on sale. It’s been worth it for me.

So I received this stand like a month ago and I’m pretty happy with it. The gauge of the riser wall tubing seems a little thinner than what I’m used to with other brands, but this is just an observation, I didn’t actually put calipers on it. The C arm seems a little thiner as well, and flexes a little more than I’m used to, but I don’t think it would bend under a normal load. Rather than a straight 5/8″ tube, the C arm terminates with 5/8″ pin on both ends. There are 1/4″ 20, and 3/8″ 16 threaded studs on the 5/8″ pins, like what you would find on a lesser expensive light stand.

The C arm also has a regular moveable grip head rather a normally fixed one at the end. Tightening up the 5/8″ receiver on the grip head, on either end of the C arm, doesn’t prevent the grip head from torquing around the axis of the 5/8″ receiver, THIS IS A FLAW. I think drilling a small detent for the locking knob on the end of the C arm 5/8″ studs would prevent this.

Using the C Stand with a flag/silk/net, as they are supposed to be used, will be fine and safe. You could also get away with a small light at the end of the C arm, like as a back light, and be just fine. I don’t think I would use this stand to support a 4′ x 4′ solid outdoors on a windy day. I’ve seen stands bend in a strong wind, and I would probably grab a junior stand anyway.

There are stronger C stands made other manufactures, but for the money this stand is a great value.

This C-stand from Emart is super sturdy. I use C-stands a lot for video production, and this is as sturdy as any I’ve used in any studio. The stand sections are spring loaded to give a cushion when you lower them into the section below. The grip heads are toothed with aggressive little teeth, so once they are tightened, they are not going anywhere! I have some C-stands that have a rubber grip instead of teeth, and those have the advantage that you can make slight adjustments without having to unscrew the grip very far, but they aren’t as secure. With toothed grips, you have to unscrew further (until the teeth disengage) to make adjustments.

This is probably best suited as a permanent studio C-stand just because it’s large and heavy. I have attached a picture of this one next to an Avenger 40″ C-stand and it’s quite a bit longer and heavier.

I think this is a great C-stand and would definitely recommend it for the money. This will last a very long time!

Very sturdy C-stand. Definitely worth the money.

Heavy and wonderfully stable. This stand has a load capacity of 44 lbs and supported my 16.5″x12.5″ LED light panel with ease at 13.25 lbs.

Not easily portable but great for a studio. I still wish it came with a case for storage. I’ll likely make a simple canvas one to keep all the parts together when disassembled as I won’t leave mine out when not in use.

I really like the foam rubber grip on the center support. It makes moving the stand easy, even with one girly arm, and is durable and doesn’t slip. The rubber feet protect my floor well and don’t slip either. The metal finish is like galvanized steel, no sign of corrosion anywhere.

The two grip heads are very secure. The posts are spring mounted inside each other so there is no slamming of metal on metal.

Heavy duty, industrial quality, excellent investment.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is my first C stand and is excellent. I use it mostly to hold my camera and make overhead shooting. I do reviews, unboxing and many contents that looks better with overhead angle and this c stand delivers. I do not need to extend this one but is higher than the ceiling of my apartment, and please note that I only extended partially one section. This is very sturdy, heavy and solid enough to be steady but not too much as to compromise easiness of transportation or handling. I attached a sand bang but as a caution only, I think that my camera (Canon Vixia HF G50 weights 1.91 lbs.) should be perfectly ok without sand bags. In order to attach my cameras (photo or video) I removed the ball head (which is 3/8″ female) from my tripod and attached to one of the ends of the horizontal bar that is 3/8″ male. I highly recommend this product.
