Easy to use if you’ve had resin printers before.
Good quality at an affordable price.

I have had a few printers over there last few months. This is easily the best.

The base is steel construction. It is solidly built. I had an issue with the screen which, when I contacted flash forge was very quickly and very effectively resolved. This is far better customer service than I have seen or experienced with other manufacturers. For the money, I think this is a very good printer.

It does exactly what you will buy it for but to use chitubox you will need to edit the program files to accept the .SVGX file type the printer will accept which with further reading negates the claimed anti-aliasing setting as .svgx isn’t rated for that would look to change the software on the machine to elagoo software but that’s out of my capability’s to do but a quick YouTube and you will be able to make chitubox save the sliced file as the .svgx file type

Reliable once levelled and produces very good quality prints without much hassle or tweaking.

When things do go wrong the tech support was very easy to deal with and sent the parts out to fix the problem right away.

    10/10 for customer satisfaction.

    Brilliant printe

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBuild quality is excellent. The printer is made of metal (including its white body).
The menu screen is small, dark, and uncomfortable overall. For some reason in 2022 they still install resistive touchscreens in devices like that. Z-drive is quiet however screen cooling is loud. I’d say it’s as loud as my old ender 5 or even more.

The printer has wifi in the menu however it doesn’t work. I think it’s a leftover from the misconfigured firmware rather than a hardware feature. Speaking about hardware, everything else is not bad at all! 6k screen and uv lamp work really well. Take a look at the attached calibration matrix. It’s printed with elegoo water washable resin and has 4 base layers at 20s exposure and all the other layers at 1.5 sec. And it still looks a bit on the overexposed side. (disregard little broken pieces – I didn’t handle them well during cleaning).

Chitubox doesn’t work out of the box with this printer yet. I had to create a custom profile based on Foto 8.9 with changed screen size. Then, edit foto’s 8.9 cfg file (C:Program FilesCHITUBOX V1.9.3resourcemachineFlashforge_Foto_8_9.cfg) to change “defaultSlicerExport:fdg(*.fdg)” to “defaultSlicerExport:SVGX(*.svgx)”. That made chitubox save files in a printer-friendly format. If you want to do the same – use lower case (“*.svgx”) or machine won’t see your files.

I was able to make it work over the ethernet. Connected my wifi extender which is switched into client mode to the printer. It reported successful connection. IP address and port are available in the status menu of the printer. Those parameters can be used in flashdlpprint (their slicer app) to print remotely. Models are uploaded to the local storage before the printing so network problems should not affect the printing process.

Generally, this slicer app is not bad but it’s missing the hollowing feature. This is why I use chitibox sometimes, but then import a file from it into the flashdlpprint and send it to printer.

As for the resins, elegoo water washable didn’t work well with big models. Supports were failing and overall the resin felt too brittle. But flashforge’s water washable grey performed way better. And there is a standard profile in the slicer for it. Just 2.3 sec of exposure per layer. And I feel that this value could be lowered. Because my fep sticks to the print even after ptfe lube.

Overall, so far so good and the biggest advantage is the price when it is on sale. It has no rivals in its price range.

    First impressions are good.

I have several printers and wanted a larger print bed. cant go wrong with this one. I am impressed with the quality of the prints. I didnt do any test prints went straight to the printing of the baby yoda. These were printed with Flashforge water washable resin and I can say the smell is minimal. for the money this is a great printer that from what i ahve heard are better than some of the higher end machines out there.

Great value fopr money would defiinetly recomend

    Value for money

Wish I brought one sooner, the print quality is really good, using chitubox I used the flashforge washable white settings in the settings, but found I needed to add 5 seconds on to the bottom timing then everything turned out grea

Purchased this printer as i borrowed one of my friends older ones and got the bug. This was on offer at the time and seemed good specs.

It was really well wrapped and packaged, so i was confident this was gonna work out the box

Word of warning, the manual that came with this printer advised me to slice to a format that this printer doesnt run. Be sure to slice to a svgx file.
Also, support material is…ropey. You would struggle with this printer if you were a total newbie starting from scratch. You can’t use Lychee to slice either. Their own FlashDLPrint or Chitubox is no where near as easy to use as Lychee.

Anyway i have printed a fair few things by now. Mainly miniatures for fantasy and some sci-fi and I have been pleased with the results.

One word of warning, the fan in this thing is LOUD! imagine a PC fan running at 100% all the time. So this thing lives in the garage 🙂

Set up was a little hard and it took a while to get printing. the USB drive it came with had to be formatted after getting the software off of it but after getting set up and figuring out the software it prints beautifully.

Great value, easy to understand and use. The prints are extreme fine quality and much better than those made with my previous 3D printer (ANYCUBIC) which constantly failed to produce coherent prints. Highly recommend this device.
One minor point, the instructions Manuel seems to be for a different version of the printer as the display and the quick start guide bear no relation.
    Apart from that it’s grea

Had to return and reorder the product as the first one didn’t work however this one is a pretty decent resin printer for beginners. Good product.

I will go with this over other printers in the same class (price and build volume) anytime.
It’s pretty heavy and looks like a washing machine (with that white colour).
Prints perfectly without any issues, easy to level, prints will stick every time on the build plate, but I think resin counts as well.
Packed good and delivered fine for me.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLet’s do the tldr first; this printer has excellent print quality, slightly spoiled by a poor app and some questionable design choices.

    1) Unboxing is simple, and the packaging is excellent. Even though the outside of your box may look a little rough, you’ll be happy when you see the inside as it’ll be in great condition.

    2) Setup was a breeze. The box includes the printer, the resin vat, print bed, small tool bag, scrapers, a flash drive (more on that in a moment), and a manual.

    3) I started trying to print one of the samples on the flash drive, but kept running into issues. The drive loaded, and it showed the sample prints, but not the previews of the print on the screen. I copied new prints to the drive, and had the same issue. At first, I thought the printer was having issues because the network port was incredibly slow when sending a file to the printer when the delivered flash drive was in it. Eventually I used my own flash drive and it worked right away. Network prints were fine and the screen shows the previews.

    4) The screen and the OS are a bit disappointing. There don’t appear to be any network settings, no firmware settings screen, no network information. You can see the print files on the drive, set print bed height and calibration and some other basic print settings, but that is about it. You’ll have to consult your router if your want the IP address, and you are stuck using DHCP apparently because there is no place to change the IP. If there is a way to do this, it is hidden away as it isn’t on their site or in the manual.

    5) Network prints are a tad misleading as it doesn’t actually PRINT from the network, it just sends a file to the flash drive where you can then print it yourself. You can’t change any settings over the network or check the printer status or the status of your print jobs. It is send and forget.

    6) Print quality is what you’d expect from a 4K printer – amazing. Using Anycubic resin, I’ve made a bunch of great quality prints, and gone through several bottles of resin already. After each bottle, I cleaned the resin vat and wiped down the FEP film. On the 4th bottle I started seeing failed prints. Keep in mind that I only use new resin, and a fully clean film. Of course, as with any resin printer, there is no way to see the print job when printing, so you either need to pause to check, or just gamble. After another full cleaning session, print jobs were back to normal.

Of course, the printer is a bit messy. The print bed picks up a lot of resin and it’ll drip down into the vat for a while. One annoying thing is that the mid-mounted frame that holds the bed to the gantry has a lot of nooks and crannies, and is a real pain to clean. I’ve gone through a ton of towels trying to get resin out of it. You’ll definitely need a drip tray if you remove the print bed to pull a print off of it as the whole print bed will be covered in resin.

    7) Annoyances: The printer is so new that it doesn’t even have a support section on the Flashforge site, so no way to read the manual before buying. It is also too new to have any spare parts available like a sore resin vat or original FEP film. Other printers like Elegoo have whole assortments of parts and accessories, so be aware what you are getting into. As with other printers, the resin evaporates a lot when the lid is on (as it should be) and it’ll need a good cleaning every couple of days. I’m a little worried about the seal around the 4K display as it appears to just be some electrical tape, and any drips of resin are bound to get into the printer. Make sure you order things like resin filters, paper towels, scrapers, spare FEP film, a silicone mat, and more gloves. Lots and lots of gloves.

And finally, I do recommend getting a curing station for the printer or building some kind of manual rig to wash and cure your prints. Without that, at least get yourself a bunch of isopropyl alcohol to clean things.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAbsolutely fantastic. I’ve wanted a 3d printer for year but always been nervous of the technology. This printer is so simple to work with noce easy step by step instructions. Best part they also have a youtube channel that shows you everything too. The prints them self are amazing quality. Super fine detail. To be honest its better than i was ever expecting. The only problem i had was downloading the software from the drive bit part of that would be my lack of computer skills. Ended up just downloading it from the website. They do have a help centre if you need. Can not recommend this enough. Fantastic.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFirst thing I noticed was how well packaged it was. There was a nice large hole in the side of the box, about 4 inches long. It had taken a decent impact but with a thick cardboard box and lots of dence foam around the printer, it has suffered no damage.

Machine is heavy, mostly metal construction and feels well built. Vat is metal and the screen already had some sort of screen protector on so no need to put another on. Vat also had bolts that act as feet so you are not placing the FEP directly into a surface when it is off the printer.

Very few menu options so it is easy to use. Leveling the bed was easy and I was printing within minutes.

Chitubox config file was included on the USB stick so no need to make my own profile.

Machine is also small in footprint compared to other machines with a similar build area size.

Print quality seems good, I can see finer details in small models.
