Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI don’t generally fly with my guitars but wanted something a little better than the usual drawbolt type closures. This seems up to the task and a bit more reliable than the other type.

Fender ships their EOB Strat in a gig bag…it’s a decent gig bag but I prefer cases for my guitars. I have several other hard cases but this is the first TSA style. It will NOT be my last. I also like that it doesn’t scream ‘BRAND NAME” on the side. Nobody needs to know if it’s a budget guitar or a multi-thousand dollar instrument.

I’ll be ordering more to replace some of my older cases…I just wish they made a longer (non-bass) version for longer guitars. (7-string, baritone, that sort of thing…longer but not full scale bass long.)

I really wanted this case for my Yamaha fg-150 but its a pretty small acoustic (000 or OM size). SKB makes a really nice hard case that is the perfect size for my guitar but the Gator case just looks more rugged so I took a chance and went with the Gator Classical case because it would have rattled around in the Gator Dreadnaught (how ever you spell it) case and the Classical case was the only other option. Well, the case showed up today and I love everything about it. It’s well built, nice and soft inside, and it just looks overbuilt. The only problem is. My guitar doesn’t fit in the case!
It’s my own fault though. I do have a crappy classical guitar that I love and I was planning to get a cheap case for it anyway so I decided to keep this one. Now I have a $200 case for a $100 guitar that I’ll always leave out on a stand anyway because I love playing it so much. So my cheap classical guitar is happy and now I just spent my small Christmas bonus buying the SKB case for the Yamaha that I should have bought in the first place. I wish I could say that this was an isolated incident but alas, this is typical for how my brain works : )
Anyway, the Gator case is a fantastic, well built case that I would feel confident chucking under an airplane for multiple flights. Even better if you can find a used one on Amazon for $150. I hope this was helpful : )

I bought this for my PRS Fiore. The fit is great and it is everything I needed. I wouldn’t use this for air travel as many have stated but just because a case as TSA locks on it doesn’t mean it is built to stand up to airline abuse. I would say this is comparable to the case my Fender Strat Pro cam with. The case looks great and protects my guitar for car travel and to humidify it during dry Canadian winters. I would definitely buy this case again.

I bought this guitar case to ship a left handed strat style guitar from Alberta to Nova Scotia. Everything was protected.

Good case. I put my guitar as checked baggage on a plane, and it was fine

I have several of these now and they’re just as good, if not better than the branded cases from Ibanez or other major brand. I will definitely buy these again.

This case is very hard and durable. We recently flew across country and had to check my daughter’s guitar. This case protected the guitar with no damage. We were so happy to find this on Amazon. Highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe case is very high quality and sturdy, latches close securely, and the guitar fits tightly into the padded, velvet lined interior. The internal storage space is large and easily fit extra strings, picks, string winder, tuner and capo. I could have fit my wire cutters in too, but didn’t because I wanted to use carry-on as much as possible. The case easily fit into an overhead baggage compartment, with room left for a couple backpacks or a small bag. No one seemed to mind. But if I had needed to gate check it, I would have felt comfortable that the case would protect the guitar from the handling. But not from the separation anxiety! haha The case is a little heavy, because it’s sturdy, so be prepared when lugging it through the airport. But the handle is comfortable, the case is well balanced for carrying, and it has feet and is well balanced to stand on it’s own, either on its side or upright. I’m very happy with the purchase.

I gave it a four stars only because of the latches. One slight wack with a hammer claw and they’ll pop right off. The front and back panels are pretty solid and the sides definitely hold their section. My main problem is that the storage compartment is to small!

Absolutely an awesome guitar case fits my Martin D-28 guitar perfectly, very tight fit which is good to help prevent damage

The case is very sturdy, no loose parts or hinges. Guitar fit perfectly, no sliding around like some other cases I’ve had. Great for throwing in the back seat and hitting the road.

Just received the case. Build quality seems good. Fits Fender Squier Short Scale Jaguar Bass. There is plenty of room to spare around the the body of the bass but it doesn’t move/shift while in the case b/c of how the neck is restricted from movement by the top bout and headstock (see pics). Nice design feature! Only complaint would be that the case handle is off center making the case dip when carrying.

    The case. Is simply. Gorgeous.

It’s very sturdy and definitely safe for flight.

However, it didn’t fit my guitar. I read somewhere the Gretsch 5420 fits in this case. Mine is left handed. It doesn’t fit.

I cannot take any stars from it based on that. It’s still a kickass bag and I was the one who made the mistake.

Fits my ES-335 perfectly. This is my fourth Gator TSA Case, for replacing old, broken cases, or just getting new instruments without a case as part of the deal. These are rock solid, and reasonably priced for what you get; what else can you say?

Squier classic Vibes Bass VI fits, but it’s a pretty tight around the ends of the body.

Bought this for a custom Taylor GA with cutaway, and it fits perfectly! The ONLY thing that could make this better is a tech/roadie to go along with it. Seriously, This is a great case and one of three that I have from Gator. Living in the tropics can be hard on handmade instruments and these have been awesome for their protection from the elements and constant interisland flights.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTraveling with a guitar is always an uncertain experience. Either the guitar won’t fit in the cabin or the case to check it is either too larger or heavy. Now I can check my guitar with confidence that it will always meet the requirements for checked baggage and still protect my guitar. The case is smaller and weighs 20 lbs less than my former flight case. No more breaking my back at the carousel. Looking forward to my next trip.

Gator Cases Molded Flight Case For Double Cut Away Guitars With TSA Approved Locking Latch is great, but the storage compartment isn’t that big. Doesn’t quite fit my guitar strap in there with the truss rod adjustment tool and a set of guitar strings. Still, the construction is great, closes perfectly, and latches are durable.

Gibson issued me a flimsy gig bag with my Les Paul Studio and I really wanted a hardcase for traveling. What I really liked about this case in reviews was that it supports the headstock, is made out of solid material, and has a dense foam behind the liner. My guitar is a very snug fit and I’m confident that this case gives my guitar more protection than if I had gone and bought an oem Gibson hard case for about $40 more. I love my Gibson guitar though so I slapped a Gibson sticker on the case. Cheers and rock on!

This case is probably one of the best I have ever purchased. Very solid and a perfectly snug fit for a J45 Gibson style acoustic. Definitely recommend this for the price. The locking clasps are also far better than expected.

We bought this to protect my daughter’s guitar when she was flying back to college. It is light enough for her to carry easily, but also very sturdy and the TSA lock was ideal. You will want to measure carefully to make sure it will fit your guitar snugly but not too tight. We are very happy with it so far, with the caveat that she has only made one airline trip so far. Will update if anythign changes as we use it more.
