As expected but a little heavy to hold I should have gone for a small trimmer.

Didn’t realise how large it is. You need to belt it up to use it. Still struggling to belt it up firmly as the instructions are very poor. However, the trimmer is strong.

This machine should come with protected face glass. The strap is verry useful

This machine is verry powerful long lasting battery

It works well with brush cutting disc for clearing brambles etc. Each battery lasts about 20 mins on full power.

Excellent strimmer, two batteries. A little heavy but using the harness strap eases the weight.
But be advised that the instruction are not too clear you also need a screw driver as in the instructions but there is no mention of an alan key!!

Not particularly lightweight, not very easy to assemble. but it it a great piece of kit; very powerful. It does an excellent job. I’m very pleased with it.

Overall the strimmer/scythe is a nice piece of kit. It’s light to use and does a good job. At the moment I’m cutting down some very thick greenery which is taxing the batteries more than usual. I also have a Greenworks mower which does a grand job. Both machines came with two batteries and charger so I have four batteries to use at any time. Happy camper.

Easy to assemble and use. Battery lasted a surprisingly long time. So much better than a petrol one! Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is that I never do that!

Once your grass/bush is down to a manageable level, with less throttle it makes light work of the garden. Quiet and powerful, I’m really pleased with this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI already have a lawnmower with this range. So having the batteries was not an issue and I wanted to stay in the same ecosystem.
So the actual machine is brilliant. Easy to put together. I know some people have complained but it is straightforward. Just need to follow the diagramatic sheet WITH the written explanation in the manual. Also available online. Worth take a copy for the future.
Easy to get bush cutter head on. The strimmer is simple and effective. Bump feed works well.

The really benefit is the power and ease of use. There is hardly any vibration. This is really important after doing couple weeks of strimming. There is also a lot said for techniques – start at the top any long grass, take your time and shortening slowly from the top with 4-5 sweeps; don’t be tempted to go in at the bottom. The machine is nicely weighted and with the strap over the shoulder gives you good control and comfortable operation. The battery at the end balances the weight perfectly.

The downside – the batteries (2AH) will last about 15-20 mins on very tall grass about 1.5 foot high which is quite good. On shorter grass, feasible to a 10-15 metre square area easily on one battery. I have found that I have had to use about 4 batteries to cover about 250 square metre area with heavy growth. I have a rapid charger which takes about 30-45 minutes to charge the 2AH batteries – about an hour for the normal charger. So I use the batteries in rotation and charge as I am going along. Be aware that there is reduced charging if the battery is hot.

So overall a brilliant cutter especially if you a number of Gardenworks products ; less good if you have a large area to cover and will need to buy 2-3 batteries at 70-80 each. The 4AH batteries are good but can’t them these days.

Easy to assemble with just a screw driver, even though the instructions are poor. I use it on my allotment paths/wild areas. Cuts grass and nettles well, although tall ones can wrap around the motor. The 40v version with 2 2ah batteries is powerful enough to clear my patch without exhausting both batteries. The only down size it is quite heavy and can be tiring to use – the harness must be adjusted properly to avoid this.

Much nicer to use then my old petrol strimmer. All working well so far! Have a 1 acre garden and use it for the banks as well as some large weeds in a field.

Easy to assemble and use. It is a large and quite heavy machine but the balance is good and it is easy to handle. I used it to clear a large patch of high weeds and it performed admirably. When removing the spool to fit the blade the thread is left-handed so you e to turn it clockwise to unscrew it. The battery lasts a really long time so you easily clear a very large area without changing batteries. I tried using it for edging but as there is no way to support the head it is quite difficult to use it for that.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersFirstly it’s quite heavy and awkward but a simple tip I found from a guy on you tube, was to place head where battery fits underneath arm pit. It balances and holds some of weight. It’s a female thread on the screw you attach trimmer or brushcutter. Which just means it screws on and off in the opposite direction to what you think. Took me a few minutes to realise this. Once I did whole thing was easy. Mine came with neither attachment fitted. I fitted the brushcutter first which is by far the easiest of two to fit. The strimmer is a bit more of a challenge. Use gravity to your advantage. Position the part the strimmer goes onto pointing upwards. Then screw the syrimmer attachment in a downwards direction to fit it. Remember it screws on opposite as it’s a female thread. The annoying part? The screw which is built into the head of the strimmer, moves. It’s not fixed so ots a little awkward. But persevere and you have a fantastic tool.

This is my fourth Greenworks product. I share 2 batteries across them all and they all work well. I had an issue fitting the blade with this item but customer support were excellent and fully resolved the problem for me. Very happy with this and the range.

I bought this to replace my old petrol strimmer. One of the reasons was that I have a Greenworks battery twin blade lawnmower and the batteries are interchangeable so I can use my mower and strimmer with the same batteries and charger as the batteries alone cost over 100 each plus charger. I am looking at a chainsaw to work off the same batteries now!
Easy to use, major benfit is the self feed line which is very useful.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIt’s very effective as a strimmer. The brushless motor and 40V Lithium Ion battery endow it with some grunt. It’s reasonably sturdy and should stand up to some serious use.

But…..don’t make the mistake of thinking that, as a brushcutter, it’s a replacement for a petrol tool. It’s not. Even a small capacity 2-stroke model would be far more effective. Ok for patches of brambles and bracken though.

Ive only usted as a string cutter currently but its very good, i have no issue with the power and run time is enough for me as i have 2 batteries. It seems robust enough and its quiet and no petrol fumes.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersI am cutting down an area of about 50ft x 50ft of overgrown blackberry bushes and it’s doing a fantastic job so far. Like just about everyone else I found the instructions a waste of time. To remove the strummer part put the L shaped rod provided in the hole at the back of the strummer attachment and turn until the rod drops so that the strummer doesn’t turn anymore and then unscrew clockwise and the strummer will come off. You can then attach the bush cutter blade.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought this to go with the Cordless Lawn Mower, which my partner was very pleased with, which was great as he was used to a petrol mower/strimmer. He has now been singing the praises of this strimmer. He said it is very sturdy and well made and he loves that it charges quickly and is more powerful than expected and is easy to use. He wished he’d bought one earlier!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery good unit, a powerful brushless motor will go thro tall thick grass. If thinking of buying this unit, I would think of your area if you can strim your area in 10min a 2amps battery is fine. 20 minute for a 4amp. You may even need 2 battery for a bigger area. But at an 1hour charge it could be done. Overall very good unit strong and fairly lightweight. But if to heavy there is a loophole for a harness attachment. Detachable for storage, easy to use and some good safety features ie plug in and power on button. The unit has non use self turn off. Would still think of ear protection as unit is over 85db and is at at 96db so ear plugs would be fine to use. So overall very happy with greenworks digi pro brushless strimmer. I say an easy 4stars.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersWith the “lawn” having claimed a incontrovertible victory over the lawn mower, it was time to adopt sterner measures.

Not having had a strimmer before I didn’t really want to get a petrol one, so this seemed like a fairly powerful electric equivalent. The garden is too large to really work with cables so I liked that this strimmer comes with two batteries.

The device made short work of all of the knee high grass and was easy to maneuver over the very uneven terrain of the garden. Weeds, brambles, nettles, all succumbed to its cutting power. It is precise enough to remove everything covering the rocky outcrop without constantly trying to cut into the rocks themselves.

Each battery seems to last for between 20 – 30 minutes when using the strimmer on full power, they take an hour to re-charge which provides a nice window between strimming for raking and refreshing drinks before its time to jump back into the battle.

As I said, I haven’t ever used any other strimmers so have nothing to compare this against from experience . I am however very happy with its performance so far, I haven’t used the metal cutting tool yet, but will do because there some bastions of hard woody stuff that did not die when attacked with the strimming cable.

Noise wise its fine, it makes a noise but not an overly loud one. The neighbours will be so happy, which is good because they will also be extremely jealous of my fine lawn.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI only give 5 stars in exceptional circumstances and this was close, a great bit of kit. I needed a strimmer and brushcutter and already had a Greenworks battery so it was an easy choice. I have used it with both attachments and it works very well. It also comes with a shoulder strap which is a necessity, but appreciated.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersAfter much research, this was the Strimmer for me, bought it with two 4ah batteries to tackle the long grass and weeds my garden has become. Very good strong Strimmer, does the job and not noisy as the petrol equivalents. Was so good I also picked up the Polesaw and hedge trimmer.
Batteries last really well and charge within 50 mins.

2 years later and its still going strong. Batteries last the same duration as when new. Not had to replace the spool. Wish I had bought the lawn mower now as well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a first class replacement for a petrol strimmer. Much easier to use, the big battery – bought separately – gives more than one hour strimming. Not sure how much more because that is about as much as I do at a time. The cutting diameter is fine and the string dispenser works well.
