Gardening is a labor of love, but it can also be a serious workout, especially when it comes to lugging around heavy hoses. That’s where the Hozelock Cart Plus 50m comes into play, offering a convenient and efficient solution to all your watering needs. This well-designed hose cart is packed with features that make it a must-have for any green-thumbed individual or professional gardener.

One of the standout aspects of this product is its ready-assembled state, allowing you to dive right into your gardening tasks without the hassle of complex setup procedures. The robust and durable construction ensures that this cart can withstand the rigors of regular use, rain or shine.

Included in the package is a 50-meter Hozelock braided starter hose, designed specifically for general-purpose use. This hose is neatly housed within the reel, protecting it from kinks, tangles, and unnecessary wear and tear. The reel’s small internal drum diameter and extra-long winding handle make rewinding a breeze, saving you valuable time and effort.

The cart itself is built to last, with a sturdy metal towing handle, oversized soft-patterned wheels, and a steel axle, ensuring smooth mobility even over rough terrain. The wide stance and low center of gravity provide excellent stability, preventing unwanted toppling or spills.

Furthermore, the adjustable towing handle collars allow you to customize the height to your preferences, while the ability to retract the handle fully makes storage a breeze, whether in a shed or garage.

While the Hozelock Cart Plus 50m excels in many areas, it’s worth noting that some users have reported issues with the hose quality over time, suggesting that replacements may be necessary after extended use. Additionally, the overall weight of the assembled cart may pose a challenge for those with mobility issues.

Overall, the Hozelock Cart Plus 50m is a well-designed and practical solution for gardeners seeking convenience, durability, and efficiency. With its ready-to-use state, robust construction, and user-friendly features, this hose cart is poised to become an indispensable ally in your quest for a lush and vibrant garden. Just be mindful of the potential drawbacks and take the necessary precautions to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Runs out easily, but awkward to rewind if you’re dragging the hose across drive or lawn, difficult to hold down as handle tends to retract.
Can be hard to tighten extension handle as the reel gets in the way.
Comes with extra connectors, but need to unwind fully to get to them, only need to do this once though.

Once you’ve dismantled it completely and rebuilt it correctly (mine was factory assembled by a blind person with no thumbs, clearly), then it works fantastically well, with great material quality.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI recently snagged an excellent deal on Amazon for the Hozelock 50M. The delivery was swift, arriving within 2 days, but unfortunately, some accessories were missing. I promptly reached out to Hozelock’s customer service, providing them with all the necessary order details. To my delight, they were incredibly helpful and quickly arranged to send the missing parts. As someone who has been using Hozelock products for years, I can vouch for their quality and durability

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality and sturdy Hozelock, happy with the purchase.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHad the hose for 3-4 months now, purchased in July 2023. I’m glad I spent the extra 20 to get this fully assembled hose reel. Also glad it’s light weight.

When I initially took it out of the box I couldn’t see the extra fittings, then realised the instructions were on the cardboard thing that you have to remove it.

The instructions are via diagrams that even I could follow. You have to initially unwind the hose to get to the fittings that’s inside the drum. That was a bit difficult to remove due to how it was taped in, but I managed to get it out.

As per the diagram you should cut 1.5m off the hose to put it on the tap/water supply, but I had a spare bit from my old hose for this, but the instructions show you need to cut 1.5m off the hose!

The extra connectors are of good quality. I like the long handle. The handle to lift is adjustable for height, and it’s easy to move around.

Only downside I’d say is the quality of the hose doesn’t feel great, but hopefully because of winding it up in the reel it will be OK.

It can sometimes get tangled up when winding it back, and sometimes is a bit difficult, but I can live with that, and get some exercise.

Overall for 70 you can’t complain imo

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic hose, value for money

I bought this cart reel and hose to replace an old hozelock hose which I’ve had for almost 10 years.

I eventually settled for the 50 metre hose with the cart. The hose is good quality and the cart reel helps to keep the hose tidy when not in use.

The package comes with all fittings for connecting to an outdoor tap. It also has a basic nozzle which can be adjusted between a jet and spray.

You do need to cut about a metre and a half of hose to attach the water supply to the cart.

The long reach of the hose is great and it’s so handy being able to unwind the right length of hose I need. The reel keeps the hose tangle free and tidy. It’s much easier than wrapping the hose around my arm to coil it up.

The cart is an aluminium frame with a reel, and two plastic wheels. The cart is already assembled.

The frame serves as a handle, which makes it easy to manoeuvre cart. Attached to frame is a holster for the hose nozzle.

My favourite feature is the holster for holding the nozzle. It’s simple, but makes for a great way to keep it tidy.

I’m pleased with this long reach hose. It has made it easier for me to water plants, wash garden furniture and wash the car. No regrets about this purchase. Fantastic.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersTop brand and reliable product. Only downside is when hose has bed. Fully extended it does require a bit of effort to wind in and care it doesn’t jump off side of the reel and jamming . But tbf it does what it says on the tin and does it well . Tap attachments also included.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEasy to assemble and use, less straightforward to ‘rewind’ after use – but nothing most gardeners would find too onerous. I’m not most gardeners though, so a bit too difficult for me to rewind! The only other issue is the weakness of the grip holding the ‘handle’ upright. Even quite light weight (downward) on the handle causes it to slide down in the mechanism. Not easily tightened sufficiently to prevent this. Annoying!
Otherwise – meets my watering requirements.

It came ready to use – no assembly required complete with fittings. However we haven’t used it as yet but hope to do so going forward with summer on its way 🙂 It was purchased at a competitive price too so a very happy customer.

I have had this for a good few days now and have managed to finally be able to connect it to my outlet.
Instructions were not clear enough for me (79yrs young woman). Having to cut pieces off the hose to connect to the outlet didn’t seem a good idea. So I went on to the Amazon website and found the very thing I needed.
After all that palaver, I managed to connect without any further problems.
It’s a brilliant hose pipe, easy to maneuver, and sturdy.
Looking forward to using properly next spring

We got this to help in our new home which has a fairly large garden. It came really well packaged however one little gripe was that the hose was twisted in on itself so I spent almost an hour trying to untie it!

Exactly what it said it could do. Neat and tidy and makes an easy job of hosing. Only slight difficulty is winding hose back again. You need your foot on the bar and one hand to wind, the other to guide real. Easy when you know how. On the whole a great purchase and good value for money.

  29. Pretty in Pink says:

Bought to help clean out some guttering. Wasn’t expecting all the connections and a spray adapter which was a bonus. Hose is pliable and is easy to wind on/off the reel. Have good water pressure from the mains but no leaks or issues with using the hose. Actually better than I expected. My only negative is that I end up carrying it as much as rolling it on the wheels it as the handle for me is not quite long enough with out bending down.

  30. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

First off, it does what it needs to do, it conveniently stores 60m of hose, which is its whole purpose. But it is let down in some areas, the lock for the carrying handle is poor, it is fine when picking up or moving the reel, but when you are trying to wind the hose back in, you naturally try to grab the handle while winding, which causes it to collapse on you. Hose quality seems OK, I don’t use it too often, mainly for car washing, it’s not as kink resistant as I’d hoped, but it’s sufficient for my needs.

  31. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

This good quality item is let down by the lack of a hanging device. Also, the handle cannot be firmly locked in place and easily moves up and down in use.

  32. MarlonJSUI says:

Easy to assemble, not heavy, doesn’t kink easily. My only complaint is that the handle is too short. I’m 5 7″ and have to stoop to wheel it so it’s actually easier just to carry it!

You need to cut 1.5m pipe so you can get connected to tap. Sadly it kinks a lot. That is negative point and unfortunately very bad if you have corners around house or garden.

Bought this hosepipe after borrowing a friends. I need a very long one and this is perfect at 50M. However I am a bit disappointed, as there are a few kinks in it from day one – which stop the flow of water, not great when you’re having to keep straightening them out. To be honest I should have asked for a replacement – probably too late now. other than that great quality.

The hose! flexible but robust much easier to manage than the cheap dark green type.
Almost all assembled – only a little tweaking needed and I saved myself some effort by using some of the old hose for the reel to tap connection.
When all wound on it is far easier to manoeuvre 50m of hose on a cart.

The handle seems to always only just tight enough so it doesn’t pull out but does push in…
You end up having to guide the hose onto the reel to get it on evenly and untwisted – wear gloves.
I wish there was a firmer/better/more convenient place to put your foot to keep the reel stable when reeling in. 50m of garden hose isn’t light.

Sign up for the extra warranty!

All in all for a big garden this is well worth it for this amount of good quality hose and fixings let alone the preassembled cart.

It’s a nice item, but you have to take all the hose from the reel to find the hose connections hidden at the centre and the idea of buying this item because it was assembled did not work and at 83 I do not have the strength to tighten the ends. Plus the connection at the centre leaked, so I had to get somebody to tighten that up, or just let it drip,
Could have been better assembled at the factory.

We bought a hosereel, connectors and differing heads altogether as we were fed up with the cheaper ones we’d had previously that didn’t last, easily perforated or jumped off the tap. These items are great. Robust, long length and totally reliable. The hosereel was left out in the Winter, being subjected to frost several times and survived without any problems at all.

This hose cart is handy. The hose seems a really good quality (flexible) and doesn’t look like it will become easily brittle over time. It is heavy, but then it does have 50m of hose. The handle keeps falling down. I don’t seem to be screwing the locks tight enough. It says it does come assembled, however if you don’t have a length of hose from the tap that you are connecting it to then you do have to unreel the whole hose and create an extension to connect to the tap. I had watch a video, and if I’d have had to do this, the video was very easy to follow and it didn’t look like it would be difficult. It was also a little difficult to wind up the hose probably because it is heavy, so I would have bought the auto reel hose but wanted this extra length.

This is a great hose and very easy to use. Just to let you know that you don’t need to buy the hoselock attachment from the hose to the tap as it comes with all the attachments. What you have to do is to cut off 1.5 meters from your hose which will then make it 48.5 meters long. This will then save you 9. They need to actually state what parts come with the reel and hose to make it easier for customers to know.

This is a good strong hose which is easy to unroll/roll and it is quite compact when tied up. The hose is made of good sturdy material. There is plenty of length which allows for watering a fairly extensive space. A good buy.

I bought the 50m and underestimated how much hose that would give me. Not complaining though, the cart holds it all together nicely and the wheel means what I do use is easy to tidy away.

I wanted this because I didn’t want to drill a eyesore on the side of my house so wanted something that can be stored away in the garage which this certainly ticks that box.

Read the instructions when you get it, if you’re anything like my fella, he would of had us buying more hose to connect it to the tap. There is no need, you just cut off some of the length of the hose provided and all the attachments are there to allow you to connect the cart to the tap.

It’s sturdy, well built, and the wheels on it means it’s very easy to move around. It connects to my jetwash no problem too. Overall, great product and would recommend.

  64. MarieMetzger says:

     United Kingdom

Very long hose and sturdy enough cart but the wheels aren’t great. Being plastic they don’t offer much grip and slide rather than actually rotate.
It’s easier and quicker to just carry the cart.
The telescopic handle would benefit from a stronger lock to hold it in position, it easily moves even after tightening.
Hose itself is faultless and works perfectly.
Reluctant to cut a short length of hose as instructed by packaging to enable connection of cart to external water source, opted instead for the connection kit. For such a short length of hose I feel it’s penny pinching to not be provided to begin with

So easy to unwind and rewind those compared to the one I had before. I’m not sure how long it will last though as it doesn’t seem as robust as my old one. Will store in the shed though and hope that extends it’s life.

Ok, let’s start with the positives. Really well made bit of kit. Smooth action on winding and good quality hose. Pull up handle to make it small for storage.
Right, now a few negatives. States fully assembeld on the prod page. Yes…except that to get to the connectors supplied you have to unroll 60 damn meters of hose!! Surely they could have been taped to the side?? You also have to take apart the assembled head end to cut off 1.5m to make a feed line. Not a biggie but still not a lot of pint assembling in thebfirst place.
Finally one for Amazon …this is a hose reel. Not a big bit of equipment. So what do you put it in to ship it? A box that’s half a metre by half a metre by 800cm!!! It’s like a damn mining skip! It was chock full of paper wadding and I had to dig for the hose!! My recyc bin is stuffed with it so cheers whoever couldn’t find the next box down. First world problem I know, but this was farcical.

Had an expandable hose that finally popped so decided to go back to a ‘normal’ hose. Tried all garden centers to no avail then ordered this one as needed length of hose. It clearly stated could be up to 3 weeks for delivery which being informed of we were fine about. However, it turned up in about 3 days! Excellent, fully complete set and nice grey colour. Does what it says basically.

Only negative is that the hose does tend to kink if you’re not careful. I’ve known far worse though. I would recommend that the hose connections internal to the the cart are tightened up before use. Very convenient to have one fully assembled but possibly assembled in a hurry in my case!

  70. Staceemedia says:

     United Kingdom

Excellent value. Handle not overly long so it’s not the easiest thing to move around but the length of hose and ease to put it together (cutting off a piece of hose to attach to tap) makes this a very good buy. Great that the cart holds a longer hose as it means as it winds in, if it goes to one side there is still plenty of room without it getting tangled.

    Versatile, moveable hose

  71. Nick Roman says:

     United Kingdom

Nice trolley, quite sturdy and well designed. Hose is very flexible and as such kinks very easily when maneuvering it around the garden. So far the hose has not become deformed where it has kinked and it’s easy to use and rewind. Perhaps making sure it is full of water first would help, but then there is extra weight in moving it around. I wouldn’t say ‘don’t buy’ but be aware.

  72. PollyCardwell says:

     United Kingdom

My sister has the same type and it’s lasted her years. The only thing I would say is you must buy the extra hose part that connects this to the tap because it’s thicker than this hose on the reel. My sister did as it said on here and cut some of the hose and used that as the attachment to the tap. Bad idea because it kinks all the time because the hose is thinner and kinks when you put it away. Buying the extra attachment is a solid extra purchase

I would buy this again but hope i don’t need too for a long time.
It has one draw back and that is when you reel it in you need to tread on the frame to keep it still as the frame is lightweight and the hose is heavy.
Its easy to move around on it wheels but to be honest when set up you don’t really need to.

Having owned and used one of these Hozelock carts for several years we bought another for someone else last Christmas, so the answer is yes we did buy another one despite the fact that there are some aspects of Hozelock products which are less than perfect. After a few years use the the external parts of the plastic connections get brittle and can break if dropped, nozzles can pop off when the internal plastic clips on the connectors or the shoulders on the male part of the coupling get worn, and water can leak if the ‘o’ rings get damaged. Some care needs to be taken to keep the hose even when winding back on the reel else it does fit, which I suspect is why they only provide 50m of hose on a reel which claims to have 60m capacity. To be fair these issue probably apply to most makes of hose reels and at least you know all Hozelock fittings are compatible but disproportionately expensive for a mass produced plastic product when you but the fittings separately. I changed some of the fittings with brass one which were actually cheaper than the Hozelockc ones and are much more robust.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA good quality reel with standard hose pipe. I wanted to mount this on the wall so I bought the Cleber wall brackets available on this site and also the Hozelock hose guide. The brackets allow for the reel to be easily removed from the wall when needed and the hose guide goes under the reel assembly making pulling out the hose and the recoiling it a doddle. This reel assembly isn’t really meant for wall mounting and I found that the way I had done it, the tubing pulled out of the hub section. I remedied this by drilling two small pilot holes and putting a self-tapping screw with a washer on to secure the tube.

    Great hose reel and hose.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy dad needed a new hose and after reading reviews for this… Bad and good, I was worried about buying this for my parents.
My husband set it up for them and used a cutting of their old hose to join it to the outside tap so they wouldn’t lose the length. My husband said it was easy to set up (I don’t know what my dad would have made of it though it certainly seemed straight forward !)
My dad is delighted with it and asked me to write a brilliant review for it. It’s easy to use… So easy that my mum wonders if her plants really need so much watering (my dad assures us that they do, as they’re at the top of the bank and the water runs down) in fairness, I’ve never seen so many blooms so there could be something in that!
My dad is in his 80s and wheels it around their garden easily… Including the steep banks. It rolls itself back up again without any kinks or jambs.
So all in all… I’m now a great daughter!

A big decision whether or not to get this lower cost item compared with the more expensive, supposedly, better hoses but in the end decided to go with this and I’m glad I did.

The biggest complaint against any hose pipe is that it kinks or buckles. I’ve had numerous different hoses over the years and at some point or other they all did this. This one seems no worse or better. I keep it tight when pulling off the reel and when pressurised with water it’s fairly stiff. Also I find it better to wind back up when pressurised.

With 50m on the reel its heavy to move around. Ok, if you can wheel it but our garden doesn’t always allow for this.

Comes with a 5 year guarantee and ready assembled, except that the nozzles are inside and you have to unroll 50m of hose to get to them. Not a big deal as you only do this once.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe purchased this to make it easier to get the hose to the end of a long garden without the usual hose-knot issues. A pretty well-constructed product in mostly plastic with an alloy handle. The handle is secured to the rest of the unit by two plastic collars which despite tightening almost to destruction, the handle is not properly gripped so cannot be used to lift the reel. However it is perfectly okay to use as a pull along. Having had experience with Hozelock plastics deteriorating in the open air resulting in leaks and breakages, I hope that things have improved!

A very study cart with plenty of hose to water an average garden. It does however does have leaky problems. Unless the hose is fully unwoulnd and straight where there is not water resisttance, the unit performs well. If not fully unwound or there are curls oon the hose, then it does leak from the centre hub
Overall though it is a good investment and better than the expandible hoses you can buy. The hose is reinforced and does not rely on a rubber core which perishes if water is left inside the pipe. Yes the expandable hoses are neat and compact and this is bulky, but on the plus side this should lst longer than the rubber hoses.

    reinforced

Got a smaller one previously that wouldn’t quite reach the car up on the road from the kitchen tap, but this is much better with the 30M reel, easy to use and connects to my kitchen tap adapter perfectly and it’s on wheels, no carrying! Yay!
Only slight niggle was having to re-tighten the actual trolley pipe connectors as leaked onto pavement and instructions in b/w and tiny diagrams which didn’t explain which end the red connector fitted to. Oh and box delivered in by Amazon was very flimsy for its large size, lucky it wasn’t damaged. Otherwise fab product.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe hose I received had a manufacturing defect, but Amazon replaced it no problem.

After the initial disappointment and wait for replacement, the hose, the reel and the attachments seem very good value. The Reel and attachments are Hoselock and good quality. Separately the cost around 45, so that makes the 50m hose a deal.

I was a little concerned that others had complained that the hose kinks easily. It does, but I found that if you roll out just what you need, the hose doesn’t get a chance to kink. If you were to replace the hose with a kink proof hose, I doubt you’d get more than 20m of hose on the reel.

All in all, good quality components, but if you are unlucky enough to get a dud, Amazon replace it.

Had an issue, sorted, good, general purpose hose.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI was looking to buy a new hose to water our veg garden and new shrubs we are about to plant. I needed a 50 metre roll on a trolley and this seemed to fit the bill.
Just after placing the order, I started reading more of the reviews from purchasers, and started to get worried that I may have just bought a lemon.
It came on time, I unpacked the hose and reel and everything seemed fine. I cut a length of hose to make up a piece that fitted between the reel and tap and tightened all the fittings. Unrolled the hose and turned it on. No leaks, no bulges. Watered the garden and rolled it back up.
No kinks, no twists and easy enough to roll back up neatly with one foot on the metal bar at the back and one hand feeding the hose onto the drum while the other hand wound the reel.
    Perfect.
I can only assume people that left poor reviews were either ham fisted, or….. well, just ham fisted. If you can end up with a tangled mess of hose, then you aren’t unrolling and rolling up the hose properly and even the most expensive hose would end up the same.
Sure, it’s not the best quality hose on the market, but best quality hoses cost twice the price or more. The cart seems solid and the reel winds easily enabling you to make a neat job of putting it all away.
I would definitely recommend this to other buyers that know how to use a garden hose!

Golden Review Award: 88 From Our UsersThis has some mixed reviews. I bought it as a lightning deal to replace an older Hozelock cart and hose which was damaged in a recent storm. The plastic reel cracked badly. The hose quality on this cart is not quite so good; it’s lighter weight but so far I’ve had no problem with kinking. I find you need to support the base with your foot when winding in, but that’s not a problem. The hanle is convenient and the clip fitment holds the heavy duty multi spray head I’ve used to replace the fitting supplied.

This really is pre assembled and ready to use. I pulled up the handle and tightened the fitment on one side so it’s secure in the upright position. The hose has to unwound to access the supplied fitments for a connector pipe. I already have a connector pipe, so now have a few useful additional connectors. If you don’t have connector pipe, you just cut approx 1.5m off the supplied hose and fit the connectors to each end. The third connector goes on the tap, so it’s complete and good to go in a few minutes. I’m pleased with this and with care, it should last for some years.

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersManaged to blag this on Prime day and would still pay full price. Perfect if you have a larger garden or tap only on one side of the house.

I only reduce one star as it does leak quite heavily from the middle part (hub? / spindle? / Dunno…). I imagine this is because it still needs to be loose enough to turn as the hose is unwound. I would say this is more for moderate garden use like watering plants, etc… I wouldn’t use it to connect up a pressure washer or anything like that as I suspect the stopping/starting would soon lead to failure.

You will need to buy (or make up) a feed hose with female connectors at either end in order to connect the cart to the tap.

Cart came with two female connectors and a standard spray nozzle.

I got this to replace a green hose lock reel I had. This has several new additions over the older one including:
A long handle so you can easily move it around, ideal if it’s for someone elderly that doesn’t want to have to bend down to pick it up.
A connector at the top the handle allows you to attach a hose to hold it and also to attach the nozzle (not provided), once again useful addition for the anyone struggling to bend.
Rubber covered section on the top of the handle for a more luxuries feel
    Easer to reel in

The ultimate winner for this though is the none kink hose, I’ve been using it a few months and it’s certainly not kinked and has a feel of using a high end hose. I think I’ll be using this hose for a long time to come.

Arrived quickly and a Great product but the cart, for me, makes winding and unwinding the hose a bit of a chore.

Unwinding – The cart is supposed to move (obviously) but when I go to unwind it, I want to just walk and pull the hose out from the end. If you try doing that you just drag the cart behind you. No… you don’t say hey! But, it’s a pain and I never thought of that on purchase.

Winding – There’s no guide for the hose to pass through on winding so I often find myself coiling it up on one side of the spindle, then it goes slack or gets slightly kinked or knotted.

So, in hindsight, I should have bought the wall mounted version but that’s all my fault.

Arrived the following day and I was very happy with the packaging and quality of the item. No assembly required, just a little height adjustment on the easy turn knobs – great for us arthritics 😉 AND… the hose stays firmly connected even when fully loaded, no need to unreel due to pressure issues. The nozzle/spray attachment is fantastic too varying between a power shower and light drizzle.
Cannot fault this… Thank you all for your reviews 😉 I read many of them before purchasing this and it reminded me that a 30m hose is all I need, once the water is turned off and the hose is full of water, 60m might be a bit of a drag for an old bird back up the garden to the shed.

The Cart is great hence the 4 stars.

The Hose like other reviews state is very dissapointing, cheap and kinks like you would never believe. I know the hose will be replaced quite quickly, as I am sure I am going to get sick to the teeth with the kinking and I have no doubt that it will wear out due to the kinking in no time. I give the Hose a Rating of 0. My advice, is to certainly look at one in a store before purchasing, and bear in mind that if its in the sun the hose will become a whole lot softer. If I had of paid full price then it would have been returned!

Arrived in super quick time, so 5 stars to the Amazon team.
