Superb quality ,too good for a beginner.
Delivery was swift and guitar came well packaged.
Out off the box ,guitar did not need initial tuning ,which pays testament to pre delivery set up along with in transit packaging.
The guitar stays in tune even after a number of lessons.
The frets are smooth, without any sharp bits that might injure your fingers and are comfortable for fretting.
Fantastic feel and tone from this very affordable guitar.
Having the star burst finish ,makes it very eye catching when placed on a stand.
Not only is this a treat for your eyes it is a joy to play too.
This is very affordable ,but with a build quality that encourages the beginner and looks good as main guitar in any collection. Due to my investment, I am committed to mastering this beautiful instrument and will keep this at all costs.

I am very pleased with this guitar as it feel very comfortable to play due to a well made nack and good fret work it has very good weight far from too heavy, it also sounds good too, not that it matters much it looks good as well.

Poor setup
Having bought a number of Ibanez guitars from Japan made signature models down to several Gio
models i know what to expect from them.
My heart sank when the guitar arrived with several dings and holes in the box, it wasn’t overboxed as it should have been or at least wrapped in bubblewrap.
Come on Amazon, this is not the way to deliver a guitar!
On inspection i found a number of scuff marks where the foam blocks had rubbed against the body.
the tip of the headstock and sharp edges of the bridge had worn through the protective cover.
Thankfully these marks came out with buffing compound and polish.
The action was my biggest shock, it was like a wedge of cheese, sky high at the 12th fret.
clearly the guitar had been only assembled and the strings fitted with no attempt to set it up.
The bridge saddle screws were at the maximum height, hence the high action.
So a full set up will be required togeather with new tuners, nut and pickups to make a medicore guitar worth keeping.
My advice is pay a bit more, more expensive Gio models are way better.

No esperaba que por ese precio recibiera un instrumento de esa calidad. no tiene nada de comparacion con otras guitarras de precios bajos. es agradable de tocar, acabado excelente y elegante forma, si le pusiera alguna pega seria que quizas es algo pesada. La recomiendo a los que empiezan a tocar y a los que ya tienen un cierto nivel.

Good enough
I had the EX series (1994-2021) with Floyd rose & the works, which is a pretty decent, although when I bough it, ‘cheap’ guitar. Comparing it with the newer expensive Ibanez guitars, it really held its own and now seems to be a really good guitar! I gave it to my son and I think it has many, many years of awesomeness left. This bit is why I went for another ‘cheap’ Ibanez.
The EX is a Thrash/Death/Black Metal guitar.
This one is a cheap guitar. The body feels light, the fret board just does not have that magic or pearl inlays; the tone control is ‘weak’; and it feels a bit ‘sensitive’ under the fingers. Whacking away on a thrash-metal riff will have the strings bang against the frets (not fret-buzz). That is the bad.
Now the Good: even though the board feels ‘sensitive’, it has a lovely smooth action. Your fingers can waddle over any arpeggio or lead solo or blues riff and it just feels good. The sound it produce is good, clear and lovely (Like a horny angel, or so Meatloaf would say!). The sustain is good.
Not really the best for thrash, but it has a wonderful voice when you do power-metal solos, or even deep dark and gloomy power-doom (Candlemass). Playing Maiden songs like Number of the Beast or Flight of Icarus is gorgeous! This guitar can rock.
Acoustically: fantastic! Play house of the rising sun, stairway or even Rod Steward ballads and the sound is perfect.
So, with the little offs and the good stuff: this guitar is good enough which means it can be used to jam, to practice and I would even take it on stage. Once tuned, and the strings settled: it keeps the tuning quite well, independent of my abusive thrash-metal attacks. The tonality is very good. You can play bar chords past 12th fret and it is what you would expect it to sound like).
I would not recommend it if you want to play only Death/Thrash Metal, but for everything else: lovely.
(I’m getting old, so blues/power-metal is more my jam now!)

As a beginner I appreciated how well it played straight out of the box. I had an issue with what looked like film on the back plate (scuffed and bubbled) which i removed but dont think i was meant to. None of that takes away from the asthetics or playability. I love this guitar.
I’m an absolute beginner when it comes to using a guitar, which plenty of practice and study will sort out. However, I have to say that this is a lovely guitar and well worth the money. The guitar was just about in tune when I got it and just had to make the odd tweaks (I tune it using Guitar Rig 6 by Native Instruments). Hooked up to my Scarlett 2i2 interface, it sounds warm and lush, a great guitar to get things started. Not sure if it’s my imagination, but I did have a fender copy (can’t remember the manufacturer name), but I had trouble as the strings seemed a bit close together, this one however seems to be spaced lovely, and feels easier to get the right strings etc.
I don’t think you could go wrong with this guitar, great value for money.

It is a great guitar for the money.
It came out of the box fully tuned up, no need to set up the tuning, comfortable to handle and the sound is way above any other make of guitar, Ibanez are a good firm, if you want to play anything from blues to heavy metal then this is a very versatile instrument.
I like style of it, but after classic guitar it like a baby guitar…
I supposed to shrink myself so much to put my hand an play. It is big challenge to actually learn while you thinking how to put your arm on it..
I dont think that it is for beginners, maybe for someone after 2 years of classic guitar, so when you want something else, also there is much less space between strings (I know that electric guitars have less space), but there is actually no space… so you need to learn how to play it from beginning…
What I really like that it is very easy to adjust strings.
Very important to change strings and oil it after purchase, also adjust length and level of strings, it is not hard even for someone who bought it for first time like me !!!

A Stunning Guitar, worth every penny.
This guitar is incredible for the money, tuned pefectly out of the box, the tremelo is just right and works really well, not too stiff or loose, the finish is superb and the tone is great.
It is a very well made and sensitive instrument with a great shape for learning.
Oh and it looks fantastic.

This is a fantastic guitar.
I love this guitar. Looks good, plays good and is now my go to guitar over my Tele. ( I love that too) I am an intermediate beginner or a beginner intermediate. Seriously though. This is one superb guitar. Sooo glad I bought it.
