Downloading software and set up is a little challenging. Once set up, it works beautifully.
I am twice as effective with this document camera than I was before.
The picture quality is very crisp and clear. The software you can download for free is very simple to use and it has really improved what I can do in lessons. My only niggle is that the cable is wired in so if it ever went bad, you can’t replace it.
If you teach, this is a worthwhile investment!
This was such a valuable thing to have for distance learning…I wouldn’t have survived without it! It was plug and play and so easy to use!
I’ve never come across anything quite like this device, and immediately saw its value in how I work and operate day-to-day. Hats off to IPEVO for putting this product together, which I’m sure will develop and mature over time with further releases and models. As we all deal with the pandemic and adapt and grow in our ability to work remotely and collaborate with others across the world, I see a bright future for IPEVO and anything that helps us communicate visually!
It’s hard for me to know where to begin and how to define a list of pros and cons. I think this is true if you are purchasing this as a WebCam only, or, quite frankly, as a document scanner only. This product sits in between there and is designed as an overall adaptive-use imaging tool for the mobile professional (at least, in my opinion!). For your reference, I have used this as essentially a digital whiteboard as I collaborate with others (showing the papers on my desk as I write and scribble), as well as a more traditional WebCam focused on me as a speaker. It bridges that gap and bridges it beautifully.
Please keep in mind this comes from a person who is highly interested as an amateur in imaging of all kinds in the digital realm. I have multiple different kinds of imaging devices from a Nikon digital single lens reflex camera with half a dozen lenses, to various kinds of cameras designed for the computer. I am by no means an expert in some specific field, so take this with that grain of salt and hopefully my comments are helpful.
What I like:
* the overall fit and finish of the device is top-notch, high quality manufacturing with hinges, paint finish, cabling, lighting, and so forth that appears to be designed to last for the mobile professional polling it in and out of the briefcase on a regular basis. I love the feel, heft, and overall design
* from my perspective, the software is pretty good! I’m appreciate that we have a dedicated software suite that is both developed enough to be useful, but also simple enough to be quick to learn and use (as a side note, I always go straight to the website of any manufacturer to download software rather than using what comes bundled with the product – to that end I don’t even remember if this came with software in the packaging, because I immediately went to the website anyway!)
* As a camera, the quality is above average for a WebCam, clear, sharp, and easy to adjust with the software or even easy to adjust within the Windows “camera” app. It is also very responsive, a point that I think is critical for anyone to know when purchasing a WebCam. Additionally, it’s autofocus is quite good and easy to modify and work with
* At least in my experience, while using it primarily through Microsoft Teams, it has not been buggy, crashy, laggy, or just downright irritating. In other words, it has performed as expected to the point that I don’t even have to think about it which is exactly what makes it awesome.
Where I hope to see improvement in the future:
* Here’s the deal this is a difficult market and the difficult product to explain to people and justify the expense. That’s just my opinion considering how unique this product is. But if there’s one thing I would hope to see more improvement on, it’s the overall impact of the camera image quality. While claims can be made for “up to” some high resolution that sounds wonderful, when the image quality is generally no better than a high-quality WebCam costing half as much, it’s hard not to notice. Like I said previously, the quality of the camera is most definitely above average, but it is not going to blow you away. For comparison, if I utilize my cam link 4K USB 3.0 adapter and connect one of several high-quality digital cameras through HDMI, the quality is in a different league altogether. But I recognize the challenge IPEVO has, in that they can’t put hundreds of dollars into the imaging sensor and end up with a product costing so much they have nothing but difficulty finding buyers interested to take a chance. Still, I think it’s imperative that the quality of the image itself needs to stand on its own no matter how nice everything else about the whole experience is with the product.
* I think the software also needs to continue to improve so that it is one of the defining features and benefits of the overall package. While I’ve already mentioned that the software is a positive, and I believe that, I also see how much improvement can be made so that it continues to play nicely with the future camera versions and especially with how people decide to utilize it. This is a slippery slope I’m sure, as how do you make software work for the vast majority of people without making it overcomplicated, or bloated, or slow? For now, I think it’s great, but I do think multiple refinements will be beneficial in the future!
* As just a little side note of my own impressions of the product, I would appreciate a decent carrying case that is padded or at least made with the thick enough cloth material that it would act as a mark and scuff resistant barricade as a person moves this in and out of their briefcase. With my experience with it so far, I’m utilizing a little satchel that’s far too large for it at the moment.
I’m including photos of the product when I first took it out of the box and started using it. Please note that the photos were taken with a high-quality Nikon digital camera, but I think you can see the combination of image quality with the screenshot of the software versus the actual image taken with a dedicated camera. All in all, cheers and hats off to IPEVO. I look forward to tracking your progress in the future and greatly appreciate the wonderful opportunity to not only review your product, but to use it consistently moving forward!
Die Kamera ist sehr stabil (Metall) und uerst handlich. Mit einer integrierten LED wre die Bildqualitt sicherlich besser. Plug and play (MacBook) einwandfrei.
Although this is a document camera, specifically made for taking photos of documents, etc I have been using it to take photos of my vinyl, LP and 7″ single sleeves. This is all part of cataloguing and documenting my vast vinyl collection – ten thousand plus items. I also use the photos to update online catalogues such as discogs.com.
I have had cameras in the past to do this and they haven’t been very satisfactory in use, but this do-cam really does do the job well, although it is important to place the camera in the right place to avoid “shine” from external light sources. Saying that, it does work well in low-light and the results are always clear.
Set-up was fairly easy and the provided software is simple to use and intuitive.
Expensive, but works really well, so no complaints.

I am a science teacher and bought this to help me make short videos as I solve problems and answer student questions. Compact and easy to use, and portable which is important to me as I move it back and forth from work.
Diese Kamera ist wohl hauptschlich dafr gedacht, Buchseiten oder Dokumente (oder Zeichnungen, Bilder etc.) in Videokonferenzen zu zeigen oder sie zu fotografieren (quasi zu scannen). In der Lehre eignet sich das mit Sicherheit sehr gut (Stichwort ‘home schooling’). Per Knopfdruck direkt am Kamerakopf wird das Bild um 180 gedreht – sehr praktisch!
Leider fehlt dem System jedoch eine Beleuchtung der Buchseiten, so dass man sptestens ab der Dmmerung mit einer separaten Beleuchtung arbeiten muss. Die Natur dieser Kamera mit dem Einstellfu bedingt jedoch, dass dieser (brigens auch bei Tageslicht) auch gerne Schatten wirft und die Positionierung einer Lampe erschwert. Eine (oder gerne auch mehrere) helle schwenkbare LED direkt unterhalb des Kopfs wrde alle diese Probleme beseitigen.
Der Autofokus funktioniert schnell und sauber. ABER: Mittlerweile muss doch jeder Entwickler gelernt haben, dass ein Autofokus zwar praktisch ist, aber durchaus auch strend sein kann. Wenn auf dem Dokument etwas markiert wird oder man mit dem Finger auf eine Stelle zeigt, fokussiert die Kamera neu und das Bild wird kurz unscharf. Das ist doch sehr strend und unpraktisch. Da wre es schn, knnte man den Autofokus nach Scharfstellung auf das Dokument per Tastendruck auch abschalten.
Auch als Webcam ist die Kamera sehr gut geeignet: einfach den Kopf hochschwenken. Das Bild dieser ‘Webcam’ ist berragend, es ist um Welten besser als jede andere ‘normale’ HD Webcam. Leider fehlt zum vollendeten Einsatz als Webcam allerdings eine Zutat: das Mikrofon. Ohne externes, also separates Mikrofon (nicht mitgeliefert) ist diese Kamera nicht als Webcam einsetzbar. Schade!
Die Grundzutaten dieses Systems sind gut: Leicht, klein und dnn, hervorragende Kamera. Leider wurde hier bei der Entwicklung nicht zu Ende gedacht. Um die 220 Euro (Dez. 2020) wirklich wert zu sein fehlen hier noch ein paar Zutaten. Dem Hersteller wrde ich auf den Weg geben, diese noch zu integrieren – dann gbe es absolut nichts zu meckern:

* Schwenk- und schaltbare Beleuchtung unterhalb des Kopfs
* Abschaltbarer Autofokus (also: automatisch scharfstellen lassen, dann abschalten)
* In den Fu integriertes Mikrofon
So ergibt sich leider nur das Bild eines nicht ausentwickelten Systems. Trotzdem gebe ich 4 Sterne. Die Kamera alleine ist 6 Sterne wert. Zum Scannen oder Zeigen von Dokumenten ist das System sehr gut geeignet. Zur Nutzung als Webcam muss noch ein Mikro gekauft werden. Die fehlenden Kleinigkeiten und der deshalb zu hohe Preis bedingen den Punktabzug.
Der Versand erfolgte schnell und die Zustellung ganz unkompliziert, so ist das eben auf Amazon. Die IPEVO kam in einer auffllig flachen und kleinen Verpackung an. Man htte darin auch eine Uhr vermuten knnen. 😉
Sie ist gut eingepackt und die Polsterung kann man auch fr den spteren Transport nutzen. Zusammengeklappt passt die Webcam in jede Laptoptasche mit rein. Die Form und Farbe finde ich super, das Design ist echt mal etwas anderes aber genial. Was mich jetzt jedoch etwas strt, ist das nicht abnehmbare USB-Kabel. Ich hoffe, dass es die ganzen Transporte sowie Auf- und Abbau die nchsten Jahre bersteht. Hier wre ein austauschbares USB-Kabel die bessere Wahl gewesen. Die Halterung fr das USB-Kabel hingegen ist jedoch wieder prima. 🙂
Die Kamera kann zwei Fix in eine Dokumenten Kamera aufgebaut werden. Der Vorteil hier drfte jedem klar sein. Eingescannte Dokumente mit dem Smartphone gehen zwar auch aber man muss die Ausrichtungen nachkorrigieren und auch sind diese hin und wieder verwackelt. Mit der Kamera geht das zwei fix. Der Abstand ist immer der gleiche, wenn ich hintereinander mehrere Dokumente fotografiere, um sie dann als PDF zu speichern. Klar ein Scanner wre die bessere Wahl aber mit ausreichend Licht ist auch diese Dokumentenkamera mehr als ausreichend.
Durch den sicheren Stand und der drehbaren Kamera kann man diese als Gamer auch fr Gamepad/Keyboard Webcams nutzen. Gamer die auf Twitch oder Youtube streamen oder sich Videos von anderen Zockern ansehen, wissen sicherlich was ich meine. Auch hier muss man seine Webcam nicht umstndlich irgendwo montieren, sondern klappt die IPEVO einfach auf und dreht die Kamera in die richtige Position. Perfekt aber auch hier muss man auf die Beleuchtung/Helligkeit achten. Denn das Bild verrauscht schnell.
Wo wir gerade beim Bild sind die 8MP und 3264 x 2448 klingen zwar sehr gut, bringen aber nicht viel, wenn der Sensor Chip winzig ist. Hier braucht es schon eine ordentliche Beleuchtung, damit die Bildqualitt gut ist. Auch wird nur mit FullHD aufgenommen. Fotos werden mit 8MP geknipst. Meine Logitech Brio leistet 4k Aufnahmen oder FullHD mit 60FPS. Die Qualitt der Bilder ist mit der Brio doch um einiges bessern. Die IPEVO kommt zudem nur auf 30FPS. Das soll nicht heien, dass die IPEVO ein schlechtes Bild hat, nein wirklich nicht. Aber man muss fr eine gute Beleuchtung sorgen.
Auch gebe ich hier gern 4 Sterne sogar mit +, weil mir A das Design sehr gut gefllt und B wegen der Nutzung als Webcam/Dokumentencam. Das mit dem USB-Kabel verzeihe ich in dem Fall, dass die Kamera hier nur FullHD Videos bietet anstatt 4k kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Der Preis ist sicherlich dem Design geschuldet, jedoch nicht alleinig der Bildqualitt. Dennoch fr Homeoffice mehr als brauchbar mit einer trotzdem klaren Kaufempfehlung fr alle die bisher Dokumente mit dem Handy eingescannt haben oder viel Unterwegs sind.
Gleich vorweg, diese Kamera ist fr professionelle Anwender gemacht, das merkt man auch am Preis.
Die IPEVO DO-CAM in der Creator’s Edition richtet sich mehr an kreative Professionals wie Knstler und Designer und das merkt man auch schon an der Gestaltung der Kamera selbst. Der eher industrielle futuristische Look sieht wirklich sehr gut aus und das Gelb sticht hervor und macht auf sich aufmerksam.
Die Kamera lsst sich zum Transport zusammenklappen und das Kabel lsst sich ebenfalls einfach eingeklappt verstauen. Insgesamt macht die Kamera einen sehr gut verarbeiteten und langlebigen Eindruck. Schade ist, dass es sich bei dem Kabel nur um ein USB-A Kabel handelt. Wenigstens einen Adapter von USB-A zu USB-C htte man bei dem Preis noch mit dazu legen knnen. Gerade neuere Gerte haben oft nur noch USB-C Anschlsse.
Sie hat kein eingebautes Mikrofon, was aber total okay ist. Das muss man sich aber klar machen. Also entweder ein externes extra Mikro nutzen oder das eingebaute im Laptop, wenn eins vorhanden ist.
Die mitgelieferte Tasche” ist aber ein Witz. Die Kamera ist auch fr den Transport gedacht, daher wre eine ordentliche Tasche schon gut gewesen und bei einem Preis von 219 finde ich, kann man das auch eigentlich erwarten. Stattdessen gibt es eine Moosgummimatte, in der man die Kamera einwickelt. Sorry, aber das ist lcherlich.
Die Bildqualitt ist ihrem Preis entsprechend wirklich sehr gut. Sie lsst sich gut und einfach als Dokumentekamera und auch als Kamera fr Videoanrufe nutzen, was sie vielseitig macht. Hierfr wird auch der einzige Knopf an der Kamera genutzt, um das Bild dementsprechend zu drehen.
Insgesamt gebe ich 4/5 Sternen, einen Abzug gibt es, da ich zumindest einen USB-C Adapter erwartet htte und die Tasche einfach lcherlich ist fr ein Kamerasystem, das fr den Transport gedacht ist und einen entsprechenden Preis hat. Dennoch finde ich, dass die Kamera wirklich gut gelungen ist und mich auch vom Design anspricht.

Beim Auspacken fllt auf, dass hier auf eine einwandfreie, perfekte Verarbeitung viel Wert gelegt wurde und auch des Design-Faktor ein groe Rolle spielt.
Aus pulverbeschichteten, przise gefrsten Metallteilen gebaut, ganz in Gelb und grau gehalten, erscheint die Do-Cam in ausgeklapptem Zustand wie eine moderne Skulptur und macht sich auf dem heimischen Schreibtisch, welcher bei vielen wohl der Haupt-Einsatzort ist, besonders gut.
Als Dokumentenkamera, wie auch als hochwertige, Konferenz-Webcam, macht die Do-Cam von Ipevo vor allem eines, perfekte Bilder. Durch die drehbare Kamera, kann blitzschnell zwischen Dokumenten, welche beispielsweise in einem Online-Meeting vorgestellt werden, und auch sich selbst bei der Konferenz umgeschaltet werden. Dabei sind die Bilder, welche die Kamera aufzeichnet, gestochen scharf und das auf Wunsch bis zu einer Auflsung von 3264×2448 Pixeln. Sie besitzt einen Autofocus und schafft selbst Full-HD-Videos mit bis zu 30 Frames in der Sekunde.
Stufenlos verstellbar, steht sie in jeder Position satt auf ihrer Grundplatte und besitzt zur Seite hin, was etwaige, ungewnschte Bewegungen angeht, berhaupt kein Spiel. Sie wirkt und ist grundsolide und lsst sich dazu extrem kompakt zusammenklappen.
Hier stimmt alles, Verarbeitungsqualitt auf aller hchstem Niveau, dazu ein top Design und eine berragende Bildqualitt. Gbe es einen 6. Stern, so wrde ich ihn glatt vergeben. Auf alle Flle eine Kaufempfehlung und die verdiente Hchstwertung.

I’ve owned several webcams prior to this. I understand this is a webcam second, and a document cam first but if they claim it can also be for video calls, there should be an option to allow higher than 30FPS. The camera quality itself is not bad for documents at all. It works perfectly and as intended, but again I had also wanted to use it as a webcam but that is not possible for good quality. I love the adjustability, as well as the arm and flip camera button for webcam use. For the price, I do not think this is worth the 2-in-1 function as it states. If you are looking for a solid constructed document cam that has okay software, this is definitely for you!
Diese Cam ist meine erste Dokumentenkamera und ich bin soweit zufrieden. Ich nutze diese sowohl als normale Webcam, als auch zur Prsentation von Dokumenten oder gar Produkten bei Kunden in Webex Meetings.
Sie macht ihren Job recht gut, das Bild ist vergleichsweise sehr gut und die Kamera ist durch den Stand und das per Knopfdruck drehbare Bild uerst flexibel einsetzbar. Die Software ist aus meiner Sicht ein Schwachpunkt, trotz schnellem PC ruckelt das Bild sehr und auch die Visualizer-Software ist insgesamt berraschend behbig. Die Cam ist auf Kompaktheit und Mobilitt ausgelegt, dennoch ist das USB-Kabel fr meinen Geschmack ein wenig kurz geraten, ich empfehle hier jedem eine USB-Verlngerung gleich mit zu bestellen, je nach Einsatzort und Verwendung. Insgesamt fllt es mir schwer, hier ein objektives Urteil bzw Empfehlung zu geben. Aus meiner Sicht handelt es sich hier um ein Nischenprodukt, welches zwar ganz nett, aber mit ber 200 EUR deutlich zu teuer ist. Das mgen jedoch die Kreativen mit Ihrem persnlichen Anwendungsprofil anders sehen. Ich wrde Sie fr meinen Verwendungszweck allerdings nicht zu dem Preis kaufen.

A fantastic portable document camera/visualiser. Excellent build quality. Very well designed. Very good price.
This is pretty much plug and play. The only thing you need to know is that there is a button on the camera that flips the image 180 degrees. I spent about an hour trying to make Skype work as the image was upside down and the desktop version wouldn’t allow the image to be rotated. Reaching up to press the button did the job. There is only 4 bullet points on the included flyer. It would have paid if I had read them. For Zoom, you can push the button or rotate the image in the software.
On the box (not in the flyer/manual) is the statement of 354 x 266mm (14 x 10.5 inches) for the maximum capture area. I expect that is tied to the free software (Visualizer) available on the Ipevo website. As others have said, the USB cable is designed to attach to a nearby laptop. You’ll probably need an extension cable for most any other use.
Just for fun I ran a test on Octolapse (3D printing). It really slowed down the response time on a Raspberry Pi4. The images/timelapse though was nice and sharp using the generic USB webcam profile. Each reboot resulted in the camera image going upside down, and I had to go to the camera and push the flip button. Other than that inconvenience, it worked well, and most importantly, worked with that default profile, indicating to me that this camera plays nice with probably most other software.
I’m not sure about the money. It is very convenient, sets up fast and seems to be trouble free. If you are looking for a combined document scanner as well as a versatile web/document cam, then this may be just the ticket. There are plenty of other cameras out there, both cheaper and more expensive. It certainly gave me a killer 3D printing timelapse while being pretty expensive for that use, but no denying it set up practically instantly and even on a Pi was plug and play. I’m still going to take off a star due to its not remembering its rotation and the stupidly short USB cable. I’d say this camera is about form factor and ease of use, along with a pretty faultless image.
This camera oozes quality from the moment you take it out of the box. Inside the camera is packed with a in a wrap-around padding which is held together with an elasticated fabric band. The camera here is the creators edition, which differs from the standard edition by being a bright yellow colour. The camera is a small unit at the top which hinges to allow it to point downwards for high resolution (8MP) document scanning or forwards for use as a webcam. There is a button on the side of the camera housing to flip the image too. The camera housing is on a multi-part arm which allows adjustment of the height. The base (this is grey not yellow) is quite long to provide stability and underneath you can store the USB cable. Unfortunately the cable is quite short at around 80cm but you can use USB extensions if necessary too.
One of the most important aspects of the camera is the image quality and it is here that the Ipevo DO-CAM comes into its own as the high resolution allows for zooming in on the taken image to if required without any appreciable loss of fidelity to the end image. This is a bit of overkill for a webcam though.
Overall, this is predominantly a top down document/item scanner which can double as a webcam. It is not cheap but the quality is excellent and the images it produces are top notch too.
I was torn between four and five stars for the IPEVO DO-CAM Creator’s Edition Portable & Compact Ultra HD 8MP USB Camera. I finally decided on five stars because I think the areas that I found wanting are probably not as important to most people buying this camera. But there is ONE thing I was concerned with that made me struggle the most.
Someone please let me know if I am wrong about this – but the thing that bothered me is that there is no FLASH/LIGHT on this camera.
I will start with the great, then we will talk about the small problems…
1st – the camera is exceptional. Crisp and clear and focuses well.
2nd – the stand is very nice, it folds up and travels well and it works well – I LOVE the button that flips your image 180 vertically so when you see yourself upside down, you don’t have to go through hoops or software to get it right – you just press the button and you are right side up.
3rd – The setup is a breeze and it just WORKS.
4th – it travels very well.
This is a great document cam, creator cam if you are doing something where you want to aim down at the desktop. A great example is my son playing Fortnite for a Youtube channel and he can aim this down at his hands and it gives him a “hand cam” in addition to the usual face cam.
My daughter makes slime videos and she can use this to show what she is doing with the slime, easily.
Overall, it is a REALLY good Document/Creator Cam.
Here are the downsides…
No microphone…
No flash/light
Cord could be longer.
As another reviewer wrote, this may not be the webcam you are looking for – but for a doc cam it is promising. One of the big features to me is the VERY HIGH RES camera – which probably isn’t going to translate to high quality on your streaming, but it will look nice on your saved files and it will make for very good HOW-TO and artists presentations, etc…
Maybe a little pricey, especially considering the looks of the parts and camera inside – but they are paying for the Sony CMOS sensor and it is high res.
Ultimately, I would say this: It is expensive – at least to my mind. You can get a plain old webcam and rig something up and do the same thing for far less. But in situations where you want/need something professional looking and something that “just works” then this is what you are looking for.
I would recommend it as long as I could let the person know that they are not getting a microphone or light, then I think that it is an excellent product with a couple of small caveats that aren’t deal breakers for me or most situations I can imagine.
I also have to confess that Document Scanning is only a very small part of my daily life, so I have not fully tested it out for document scanning.

In der besonderen Situation sind die meisten Arbeiternehmer im Homeoffice unterwegs und bentigen gute Equipments zu Hause. Dazu gehrt auch eine ordentliche Webcam.
Die Qualitt der Cam ist auerordentlich super. Angefangen von der Verpackung bis zur Verarbeitung ist es eine Augenweide. Mit seiner exklusiven Farbe Gelb ist etwas Besonderes auf dem Schreibtisch . Damit die Cam keine Kratzer beim Transport bekommt, gibt eine Gummi-Mantelung inkl. Gummiband, was man um die Webcam wickeln kann. Durch seine Metallplatte steht die Kamera zunchst auf dem Schreibtisch solide. Trotzdem wackelt es bei kleinster Berhrung. Zustzlich bietet die Kunststoffplatte das Wickeln des USB-Kabels, was sehr praktisch ist. An dem Kameragehuse befindet seitlich noch ein Knopf, mit dem man das Bild drehen kann. An drei Stellen lsst sich die Kamera einstellen:
– Die Hhe an zwei Stellen
– Webcam Kopf
Durch diese Einstellungsmglichkeiten wird die Webcam perfekt fr einen selbst eingestellt.
Das IPEVO Dokumentation-Cam funktioniert mit beliebigen Video Chat Anbieter, wie z.B.:

Mit seinem Sony CMOS Bildsensor (8MP) ist das Videobild immer scharf. Beim Prsentieren sollte man unter Kamera nicht schreiben, weil es anfngt, den Fokus entweder auf den Stift oder auf die Hand zu fokussieren. Dann hrt man den Fokus stndig > nicht strend. Die Cam funktioniert mit Windows 10 Bordmittteln. Mit der Software IPEVO Visualizer (kostenlos beim Hersteller herunterladbar) kommt die Kamera zu seiner wirklichen Geltung. Mit der Software ist folgendes machbar:
– Live-bertragung
– Aufnahmen
– Schnappschuss mglich
– Scannen oder Barcode Scan
– Einfaches OCR Scanner, was danach es vorlesen kann
– Beim Prsentieren kann man im Bild Malen (Farbauswahl ist vorhanden)
Ich bin von der Kamera bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten berzeugt und kann sie nur im professionellen Umfeld empfehlen. Bitte beachtet, dass die Kamera kein integriertes Mikro besitzt.
I’m a teacher and had an older model of this brand, which eventually stopped working. I bought this one and I am amazed at the quality of the camera, it is fully HD. My students have commented on how clear the image is and has really made a difference. It’s easy to use and folds away for easy storage. Highly recommend the product.
Die Do-Cam ist ein kleines, kompaktes und handliches Gert, zusammengefaltet etwas grer als eine Bleistiftschachtel. Damit passt sie immer in meine Laptop-Tasche. Das USB-Kabel ist fest installiert und im Gehuse aufgewickelt, ich muss also kein zustzliches Kabel mitschleppen. Ansonsten ich die technische Ausstattung schlicht. Es gibt nur einen Knopf, um das Bild zu drehen, wenn man die Kamera statt als Dokumentenkamera als Webcam einsetzt.
Und genau da steckte meine Sorge. In einer Bewertung der “normalen” DO-CAM (die sich nur in der Gehusefarbe unterscheidet) hatte ich gelesen, dass der AF nervs jeder Bewegung folgen wrde und man darunter nicht schreiben knnte. Da es keinen Bedienknopf gibt, um den AF zu fixieren, war ich da zunchst skeptisch. Allerdings hat Ipevo das Kunststck fertig gebracht, dass sich die Kamera einerseits als eine generische Kamera am Rechner anmeldet und man keine speziellen Treiber bentigt (sehr gut), andererseits ber die Ipevo-Visualizer-Software Zusatzfunktionen erreichbar sind, die ber eine generische Kamera hinausgehen. Dazu gehrt insbesondere die Funktion, den AF abzuschalten.
berhaupt begeistert mich diese Software wirklich. Es gibt einfach eine Menge praktischer Funktionen. Stufenloses rotieren des Bildes, Zoom, Spiegeln, Weiabgleich, Helligkeit, Kontrast, Videofilter, und Freeze sind die, die ich bei meiner bisherigen, deutlich teureren Kamera auch hatte. Screenshots konnte ich mit der Software auch machen, hier kann man auch Videos aufnehmen und das auch in Zeitlupe oder im Zeitraffer. Praktischerweise gibt es auch direkt eine Stiftfunktion, so dass man in der Kamerasoftware Kommentare an Bilder schreiben kann. Nimmt man also einen Gegenstand auf, kann man direkt die Beschriftung ergnzen, welcher Knopf was bewirkt.
Bei meinen Aufzeichnungen habe ich meistens neben der Dokumentenkamera noch eine zweite Kamera, eine “Face-Cam”, im Einsatz, so dass man auch meine Gestik sieht. Diese habe ich dann anfnglich in der Nachbearbeitung mhsam synchronisiert und hineingeschnitten, spter ber OBS-Profile zusammengefhrt, richtig zufriedenstellend war das aber nicht. Im Ipevo-Visualizer gibt es dafr direkt eine Bild-in-Bild-Funktion, mit der ich die Face-Cam direkt einblenden kann. Das spart mir gegenber der bisherigen Lsung massiv Zeit.
Und das ist immer noch nicht alles. Man kann Barcodes scannen, Dokumente erfassen, ja, sich Dokumente sogar vorlesen lassen. Die Software ist als Freeware auch mit anderen Kameras kompatibel, so dass ich sie schon an Kollegen weiter empfohlen habe. In Kombination mit der Kamera habe ich aber endlich eine herrliche Lsung, die ich immer dabei haben kann.
Es gibt nur eine Kleinigkeit, die mir weniger gefllt. Statt einer Tasche o.. legt Ipevo eine Moosgummi-Matte, in die man die Kamera einwickeln kann, und einen breiten Gummi bei. Um die Seiten zu schtzen gibt es auch noch kleine Moosgummi-Schnipsel, die man aber nicht immer hineinfummeln will. De facto wird man die Kamera meistens nur in der Moosgummi-matte transportieren. Da wre mir eine kleine Schutztasche lieber gewesen. Aber das ist unerheblich. Ich bin so zufrieden, dass ich meine alte Kamera jetzt in Rente schicken werde

When I plugged it in the USB port of my Asus laptop (Windows 10), my computer automatically downloaded and installed the device driver.
The only thing I had to do – was to install the software that can be downloaded from the official IPEVO website.
Once the camera software was installed, I opened my camera software on the laptop, chose the IPEVO camera, and the camera started working.
NOTE THAT:
This camera doesn’t have a built-in microphone – so consider before you buy this device.

Da ich im HomeOffice verstrkt auf den Austausch via Web Konferenz angewiesen bin, habe ich zu dem Thema recherchiert. Dabei bin ich dann schnell auf Produkte von IPEVO gestoen, de sich in den Bereich der Dokumentkameras spezialisert haben.
Da ich eine mobile Lsung zum Einsatz zusammen mit meinem Surface Book gesucht habe, habe ich mir dann mir die IPEVO DO-CAM Creator’s Edition bestellt. Dabei unterscheidet sich die Creator’s Edition von der normalen DO-CAM eigentlich nur durch die intensivere Farbe Signalgelb des Gehuses. Mir gefllt jedoch dieser stilvolle “Farbklecks”.
Die Lieferung erfolgte zgig und ich erhielt das Produkt in einem entsprechend kleinen Karton. Darin ist die Kamera, nochmal geschtzt durch eine schne Hlle.
Die Installation des Produkts ist problemlos ber USB in wenigen Minuten erledigt. Dann kann die Kamera bereits als Dokumentenkamera oder als WebCam (bei mir mit Zoom) verwendet werden.
Es empfiehlt sich jedoch, die zur Kamera gehrige Software (Visualizer) von der Webseite von IPEVO zu laden, um wirklich alles aus dem Produkt “herauszuholen”.
Die Einstellmglichkeiten der Kamera ber den ausklappbaren Armgengen meinen Anforderungen vollauf. Das Umschalten zwischen Dokumentmodus und WebCam-Modus erfolgt schnell und problemlos.
Dass die Kamera ber kein Mikrofon verfgt, finde ich nicht weiter schlimm. Ich habe dazu sowieso ein hochwertigeres Mikrofon meinem System installiert, das ich nutze, wenn ich entsprechende Aufnahmen machen will.
Ich kann die DO-CAM absolut empfehlen. Sowohl die Creator’s Edition, fr den, der es etwas bunter mag oder die sich farblich zurckhaltendere normale Edition in Graphitgrau.
The outer packaging from Amazon could be more protective than what it was delivered in – just a regular envelope and no padding!
I bought this product to shoot myself doing calligraphy videos. They turn out beautiful, worth a try!
This is a curious one. I am giving it 4 stars as I cannot fault it for the primary purpose as a document displaying webcam. The missing piece I will explain later
The triple joints design allows for a good range of fine-tuning and is extremely quick and easy to set up.
The joints themselves feel sturdy not too difficult and more importantly, not at all loose.
I like it the design and find the yellow to be a bright alternative to a more serious but boring plain design.
The instructions you see there are all you get but it’s plug and play and will most likely be issued with whichever webcam suited application you use, I have tested it in Teams and it works just fine. The only down side is that it starts up upside down, but a single click of a button and it is the right way up again.
You might be asking why it’s not 5 stars then?
A couple of things. If you are intending to use this with a laptop or desk mounted PC and only for showing documents, add another star.
However, if, like me, you have a floor located desktop you may struggle with this, especially for standard webcam use (e.g. face to face) the USB cable which is very short at approx. 83 cm.
This meant I have to buy a USB extension cable just to use it for meetings. While the existing cable sits very prettily in the housing if transporting the device, it would have perhaps been thoughtful, especially at the asking price, for then to have included an extension cable.
The second issue is, if you want to position this at head height (as a regular clip on to the monitor webcam would be) you will need to put a few books or suchlike under it for the height. Because of the length of the base (19cm), resting it behind a monitor may prove tricky also. I ended up juggling with it and just gave up and accepted I would be shown on a bad angle.
Quite frankly, if you’re buying this as a webcam rather than something to display physical documents, I wouldn’t bother.
Picture quality, either way, is excellent (though not a massive departure from decent far cheaper cams).
If you are primarily just wanting a webcam, you’d be much better buying a regular clip-on device and saving yourself a lot of money.
Decent camera, which works well as a visualiser. Portable, and holds its position well. The only drawback on this visualiser over other IPEVO cameras (especially the V4K), is that the settings in the ipevo app are much more limited.
I must confess I had been expecting a little more from this given the price point. It may be that I haven’t yet used the apps designed to go with it – so far just using this with microsoft teams environment. As a visuliser it is very good. Simple to set up, and very neat when packed away too.
As a web cam I am underwhelmed if I am honest. The picture is ok, but a little dark if you are sat in front of a window. In some ways it is inferior to the integrated camera on my laptop and certainly no better than my 40 quid web cam.
Like a lot of people I’ve transitioned to WFH since the outbreak of COVID-19, as a project manager I spend a lot of my time on video conferences and sharing documents with colleagues and external clients. Having the versatility that the DO-CAM offers has been a great addition to my workflow and enabled me to complete activities which I was previously having to try and do via a mobile phone (as most of you will know this isn’t always ideal). The DO-CAM is of great quality and has a very modern design, it’s very simple to use and only takes moments to setup, several of my team members have also invested in these as they are a fantastic piece of kit and ideal for people who work within my industry (it also looks great on my desk!).
This is a versatile camera which can be used as a document reader as well as being a document reader in a lot of applications ,which I have not had time to explore . So far things are going well and I like this and will be well happy when I find all of its potential.
Sometimes you find a product you didn’t know you need and the Ipevo DO-Cam was one of those for me. My positive impressions started with unboxing the camera. The box undoes simply; and inside the camera is wrapped in simple neoprene style case.
The thoughtful design continues with the heavy metal base that keeps its footing; and plastic camera arms that allow you to adjust the camera to many positions – close up to paper or wider to get the whole page. The unit has cable wraps to store the usb cable inside as you travel; though one serious negative on the design front was the USB-A rather than USB-C connector.
An hour after the box arrived if found myself sketching into a notepad over teams with a colleague discussing solutions to a problem. This first call was not without its issues – the autofocus stepping in and out for example. The focus distance is quite impressive; you can focus down close – and colors are vibrant with good light on your desk. One thing the camera is missing is a microphone; so you will need a good microphone or headset to make the most of it.
After downloading the ipevo app from their website I found the camera supports zooming and control of the autofocus- you can lock the focus or switch to a single auto focus which stops the hunting. The app lets you set an orientation to straighten out pages if you are taking photos. You can also enable a picture in picture mode to zoom in on a section of what you are working on; whilst the wider image shows the whole page. The software has a surprising number of modes allowing you to take photos (8mp) or videos up to 4k of whatever the camera seeing before going through other modes such as a book scanner that steps through to create a pdf.
Outside sketching and doodling solutions to problems the documents I also found the Do-Cam to work as an good webcam thanks to the larger 4k sensor it seemed to handle lighting on a winter morning; and more importantly it has autofocus rather than fixed focus which results in a sharp picture – the height adjustable arm letting you get it into a better position also makes a big difference than the one on my laptop or monitor. There is a switch to help you flip the image when moving between webcam and document cam mode.
I work on a lot of software problems and have found myself working with teams around the world. The DO-Cam’s party piece though is it folds up to a compact 220 x 63 x 22mm box that you can slip into your backpack and take where every go. 4* because its not USB-C. Though it works just fine with a usb-a to c converter.

The design will be subjective, I rather like it and find the yellow to be a bright and attractive alternative to a more serious, but boring, black design.
The packaging is also very premium as I have shown in the photos.
