I’ve now bought three of these panels for my Jackery batteries. The latest was on special offer, making it good value for money. The panels are not supposed to get wet, but they can cope with light rain. I always ensure that the rear of the panels are not exposed to water.
Dubious about buying but 100% recommend for free power works great with powering your jackery was drawing 68 to 70w on a mild day
Used this with the Hackery 240 box and it was giving me up to 96w of power on its first 4 day trip. We were never without mains voltage, great for all sorts of things and has USB in the back so can be used without the box which is sold separately.
I use this in conjunction with a Jackery 1000. Just wow! Camping is a breeze now with this and it’s keeps my Outwell chiller going pretty much indefinitely with decent sun. Video attached of my trying it out at home.
Just buy it and stop shopping around. I’ve even managed to charge my iPhone 13 and iPad Pro full for an entire week just using the solar! Will be buying another solar to doubly make sure I’m good on a week long camping trip!
Read reviews and didn’t know whether to get one or not, but glad I did, gives me 72 watts of output at best and charges my jackery, phone or power bank.
If you charge a Jackery battery off of the mains you get about 80w. In the UK during a blue sky day you get constant 100w of charge from this solar panel. Well worth the money and I am very happy with this product. I highly recommend you buy one of these if you own a Jackery battery.
Easy to use for a few days camping. Should come with a padded carry bag.
This is really handy piece of kit. Ive got the generator to go with it but as a stand alone product its great for charging smaller gadgets straight from the panel – it was charge our phones and ipads directly from the panels usb outlets. it does charge even when its part cloud, just not as much as full sun but enough for us to trickle charge while camping.
Very fast charge for the Jackery Explorer 240. Was even able to charge it through the tent window when we left for the day. Just unfortunate it’s not water proof which means you do need to keep an eye on it and the weathe
I bought this solar panel along with the Jackery Portable Power Station Explorer 240, 230V/200W – I am sure there are other alternatives out there but I researched and found this to be the best combination. Since the day I got it has supplied me with the ability to charge my phones, laptop, air pods, wireless lights, have lamp in living room in the evening, I use this for anything that I need charged. I am confident my electric usage will be considerably lower since purchasing this (I work from home so laptop is on all the time along with screens)
The solar panel in my opinion is excellent – once connected to the jackery battery it starts charging up instantly (when in the sun). with the predicted rise happening in October I will be using this as and when I possibly can. Obviously weather dependant and when winter hits that may change but any bit of sun the solar panel will be out creating energy to use around the home. The solar panel itself also has a USB port which I charge my phone into and it charges up very quickly (when in the sun)
Overall whilst the whole bundle cost me about 500 – over the next year I will have made this back if these energy prices are going to continue to rise stupidly as predicted. And if not it’s a huge addition to saving some money.
I’m extremely happy
Was a bit dubious after reading other reviews and the fact it states not waterproof but having used it on a couple of camping trips I’d say it’s pretty good tbh the times we have used it the weather has been glorious but even when the sun was not cracking the flags was still pulling some power and I left it to my teenager to set up it comes with all the cables that plugged directly into my jackery 240 explorer overall yeah good purchase but only if on a decent deal wouldn’t want to be paying full price for any jackery product if you can hold out until a Black Friday sale day I would
I had resisted buying jackery panels for the last year, instead using 120W folding panels instead. Problem was that the folding ones were not water resistant and even though they are rated 120W they only ever have about 90W is good light in August.
I was shocked to see the jackery 100W panel supplying upto 113W of power in solid sunshine when my 120W sitting directly next to it could only muster up about 90!
I ended up buying two of the jackery panels which can charge the Explorer 1000 in a full day in summer.. Just a real shame that both the Explorer 500 and 1000 have such awfully slow and limited charging potential. The 500 is limited to 85W and the 1000 to only 135W. So even though these two panels can produce 226W together, the maximum the batteries can be charged at is the limiting factor in good sunlight. In less than good sunlight, the panels still perform well..
Works great with jackery would be better with different attachments
This panel is so easy to use straight out of the box. Plugged it in and put out in hazy sunshine at 5pm last night and got 80watts. Charged the power unit up far quicker than I expected.
Really impressed, lightweight good for storing in our Motorhome- had a week away off grid coupled with the Jackery 500, had 2x electric bikes, 1 x scooter, tvs phones, WiFi, all the usual Motorhome accessories- lowest the Jackery went was 30% ! Kept topped up by panel usually within two hours – Highly recommend
This review is from a UK perspective… firstly these solar panels do work well and are very good, in perfect sunny conditions you can get an input of 75/80w when paired with a jackery 500/1000 etc but the problem is a bit of cloud and it drops away dramatically to 25/30w and if totally overcast its a mere trickle.. hence realistically you can not rely on solar to charge your power station in the UK… solar of any type it seems is just about ok for weekend camping trips, days away but not a solution for any sort of prolonged off grid living… the panels themselves are light, easy to set up and simple to connect.. you soon get the knack of getting the angle with the sun right and moving them every couple of hours… the only negative is the price, they are quite expensive for what they are but then isn’t everything for after all only a fool would think that any sort of cheap / free energy would ever be given to the general public..
It does what it says on the tin – I even use it whilst I’m at home to save on my home energy bills for work – laptop, phones, etc. It’s currently sat on my front garden and wires right through to my living room – great cable length.
Buyer beware for the layman that my panel right now is facing the sun on a clear summer sky and it’s only pulling 51w – the 100w is laboratory conditions and you’ll likely never see it.
That said, my laptop is charging and in use and is consuming 41w so it’s net gain regardless.
Purchased this with the Jackery 240 – mostly for use when camping.
So far tested on a sunny day and got around 72 watts – I expect on perfect conditions it is possible to get the 100 watts but this was quick test in the garden. In extremely cloudy conditions it still produced 17-25 watts which is still reasonable.
The only downside it to remember this is not water proof – so do not leave unattended if the weather is unpredictable.
This is bigger than I expected and worked better too. I’m was apprehensive because of some of the reviews, but it works perfectly with my jackery 240 and managed to get about 70 watts which took about 6 hours to fully charge my jackery 240. So very happy.
All the leads were there to easily connect. You can use usb aswell to charge phones etc direct from the panel.
Could be easier, connect up, put in the sun and voila energy.
This solar panel is a very nice compact folding unit, it goes nicely with my Jackery 1000. I’ve had a charge rate of 60watts so far and that was on not so sunny days, so I’m hoping that on clear sunny days it will produce near to its max of 100watts. Crossed fingers .
Well made and ideal for camping and emergency use. Just one problem…. You can’t get it wet! In Britain that is difficult. I bought some plastic sheet (tube) to put over it in an emergency.
This is a wonderful bit of kit for those needing to have emergency power options during shortages, or when travelling.
However, if you’ve bought it with the intention of primarily using it to power the various Jackery power bank/generators, such as the Jackery Explorer 240, make sure you know which versions are compatible by first checking out their website. I asked here at Amazon and was told this would be compatible with all Jackery power bank / explorers. So I bought this and the Jackery 240 Explorer and found that the solar panel wasn’t compatible with the version of the solar panels.
Otherwise, alone, it does appear to change, but not very fast in the UK (the other reason I got the power bank / portable power station to use with it as it has a helpful display that the solar panels don’t).
Got two of these, however, even though the quality is outstanding, they are still very expensive compared to alternatives. Cracking kit though.
So easy to set up, a must for motorhome users
Great quality/but expensive for the size 100w
Extra charging options on the panel back,
But would be better with more standard end connectors like say Anderso
Hadn’t realised it’s not waterproof!
With the summer we’ve just had wasn’t able to use it much as it’s rained a lot!
Pulls in power even when the clouds roll in. A bit pricey, but do a good job and fast to set up. A great product but you will pay a premium for that.
Works great with my Jackery battery – great design and invention.
Ive only given it a quick try after receiving it at the weekend. The weather was cloudy, but I found it worked well, and it even worked from behind our glass windows in the house were previous solar panels have not worked very well from indoors. I tried it for when the weather like today is damp with sunny intervals.
Easy to set up and use. Gnrtes even in low light levels although obviously at lower watts.
A must purchase for the jacker, easy to use and store away.
another good piece of kit for when no electric on a site
Used on the 1 September in the UK gave it a try in the backgarden not expecting it to charge on a overcast day at 5pm I was wrong set it up and I was getting 15w to start with when the sun eventually got through a cloud gap I was getting up to 59w I am currently using an Anker powerhouse 400 2 but saving some pennies to get an jackery 1000
I have used this for a week on a UK camping trip recently. After a full day of intermittent sunshine it charged the 1000w Jackery by 40% whilst a laptop and mobile fast charge phone was plugged in. On an overcast day the wattage output ranged from 15 to 30 watts which, if nothing else is plugged in, is enough to give a good boost to the batteries. I laid it out on wet grass. There was moisture on the panels but the electrical port is protected in a zipped enclosure. Jackery do not recommend using it in the wet although it does have an IP65 rating for dust and water which convinced me that a little bit of moisture should be okay although I would only do this at your own risk. O erall I am really pleased with the Solar panel and it felt good to be using green energy. 100-130 watt output is the same as the output the wall plug in adapter provides.
Excellent panel. One down side is way over priced even for its high build quality.
But a pleasure to use.
Easy to carry round and set up snaps back to getter with magnetic ends
Fantastic at charging power banks during a camping trip. Slightly bigger and heavier than expected but they do the job.
Am totally in love with this, it makes our trips an absolute breeze, no fighting to charge our phones as this has 3 usb sockets, a 9v cigarette socket plus a 3 pin UK plug socket.
We also opted for the portable solar panels and can’t believe how quick it juices up the Jackery whiles we just chill out around the van..
For anyone who is considering this for van life I couldn’t recommend this product moreit’s compact and very sturdy, has a great spotlight on it and a really sturdy handle for carrying so if you decide to pull over you can take it with you to that special spot and have electricity power anywhere at all
I purchased a Jackery Explorer 1000 power station via Amazon UK in April of this year and considered buying 2 x 100w Jackery Solar Saga panels at the same time, as an alternative to just charging the power station from the mains supply.
My decision not to buy the panels at that time was based partially on cost, but also because of doubts I had about the ability of the Jackery solar panels to cope with weather conditions in the Outer Hebrides, where I live.
We have some rain here on up to 300 days a year and strong winds on almost as many.
Jackery do make it clear in their advertising that the solar panels are not waterproof and looking at the foldable stands on the website pictures, I was also concerned that they might be too flimsy to remain standing in windy weather.
Nevertheless, I continued to be interested in the solar panels and eventually decided to buy a pair three or four weeks ago, when they were offered at 30% discount during Amazon’s most recent Prime Day.
So, how have they fared?
Generally, very well. I use the Jackery Explorer 1000 to provide lighting in the house during power cuts and for regular use in my polytunnel and shed, where I do not have mains electricity. It has become indispensable around the croft and house.
Having these solar panels increases the flexibility of the power station, which I was previously charging just from a wall socket.
The 2 solar panels arrived a couple of weeks ago and I have been getting to grips with them ever since.
Straight out of the box, the panels are impressive to look at. They are sturdily made and neatly finished. They look durable and and I am fairly confident that with care, they will last a long time.
The 2 solar panels connect easily to the Jackery 1000 with a dedicated connector that is supplied with the power station, not with the panels.
A useful feature is that devices can be charged by plugging them directly into the usb or usb-c socket on the rear of the solar panels without the need for them to be connected to a power station.
When connected to the Jackery 1000, the solar panels started to charge it immediately and it quickly became clear that the rate at which they charge is heavily affected by the intensity of light and the angle of the panels whilst charging.
My initial concerns about wind and rain turned out to be realistic and several times during the first few days, I had to pick the solar panels up from the ground where the wind blew them and on other occasions, rush out to retrieve them when it started to rain.
Life is too short to deal with these problems regularly, so I have now moved the panels into my polytunnel where they sit protected from the weather and where the light intensity is still sufficient to charge the Jackery power station with them at a rate only slightly slower than if they were outside in the open.
I have found these solar panels to be a useful addition to the Jackery 1000 and since owning them, have learnt that you need to take a little time to learn how to use them to best effect in your own situation.
They could be improved for UK use by making them completely waterproof and strengthening the leg stand, but overall, these panels greatly add to the versatility of the Jackery power station and are good bits of kit to have for stand by/ off grid/ camping use.
Go’s perfectly with my new Jackery 240 power station, both fantastic bit’s of kit!
I’m really happy with this. It’s expensive and so is the power pack but it is very well made ( get what you pay for? ) and it appears to work really well.
Early days but I’m getting 11w input with cloud ( output on my phone is about 7 ) so even with a cloud I appear to be making more than I lose by charging a mobile )
When I plugged it into the mains I was getting about 64w input and I’m getting so far best of 69w input from the sun…so it appears to load it with more power from the sun than I get from my mains electricity when charging..
Any shadow on any part of it does have a significant and immediate effect on the input which seems logical but worth avoiding even a shadow on one corner…
Would I buy it again if I had the choice to go back? YES I think it’s great and a great addition to a leisure battery on my camper van..
I decided to have this separate to adding solar to the van because it gives me more versatility and so if we just want to go camping with a tent we could still easily power a portable cool box and pump up Paddle boards with an electric pump.
No Hassle just plug in to your Jackory and let the sun do the res
I bought the Solar Saga on a whim when I saw that they now supplied in the UK through Amazon – I had two reasons to buy. First to look at renewable power solutions to make available at the foodbank I have worked at during COVID and also to extend a project with my kids where they can only charge their devices from renewable energy in an attempt to limit screen time and teach about the environment.
In the latter case, this product is a little too good. On a sunny day it easily charges their ipads as well as a couple of power-banks for later charging!… in other words… it provides so much power that it doesnt limit their screen time much!
The product itself looks smart, operates straight out the box and folds nicely into it’s own case-like form. The soft legs are robust enough to support the items without adding extra bulk and the eyelets in the corner offer the facility to more securely fix in place where necessary.
This panel is ideal for portable device charging and performs well even during overcast skys – Don’t expect miracle output if it isnt sunny, but the Solarsaga performs as efficiently as technology allows in dull conditions.
This is a great product which I would highly recommend to anyone – even if it is to teach youngsters about renewable energy and charging their devices or giving a topup to devices while picnicking in the park or on the beach. I can’t wait to explore further Jackery products as they hit the market.
So far after giving this piece of equipment multiple tests it has proved ideal for use in our motorhome and campervan. It has meant we can leave our solar panel running the equipment in the motorhome and everything else can be charged with the Jackery. So far proved to be a brilliant piece of kit.
I have the Jackery Explorer 1000 and bought 2 of these panels (200w total)
I use them every time we go away and have not been disappointed.
In full sun I managed Approx 128w input and under high cloud Approx 40/60w.
The panels look great and are fairly light, easy to Carry and love the way they snap shut with the magnets.
Definitely recommend .
Very easy to use and set up. You can connect to your Jackery power unit in seconds. My own was charging at almost 70 watts at one point. When finished you can simply disconnect, pack the lead in the pouch provided and store away. I keep mine in the box it arrived in for protection when stored in the motorhome. Excellent product, a tad expensive compared with fixed solar panels. You wonder why we can’t make these in the UK instead of importing them from the US.
Brought the jackery solar panels for the explorer 1000. Whilst charging the explorer 1000 I also plug my devices that are charged by USB straight into the solar panel it has 2 usb a and c. The only down side is that they are not rain proof so you can’t leave them out if your not around just in case it rains.
Not used out in the field yet only used in garden. It does exactly what I brought it for, cannot fault it.
The 100w Solar Panel is a perfect accompaniment to any Powerstation.
The ability to charge all my devices multiple times, and then recharge the powerstation for free using the Solar panel whilst out in the wilds is a game changer. No more managing calls or movie length.
For someone with limited electrical ability the ease of plug and play is paramount.
The addition of usb ports on the panel as well is a nice touch, meaning you can just charge your devices using the panel independently.
Fantastic bit of kit. It lives permanently in my van. I love that it fits on my dash board so it can be charging my power pack even when I’m away from the van. Managed to power a fridge on eco mode through my power pack even though it was on the dash.
Charges my battery well. So far in spring getting between 40-60w charge into the battery consistantly throughout the day whicg is perfect for my camping needs
Bigger and heavier than I was expecting, but feels well made. Comes with fitted bag for cable / adaptors. Tried it indoors on a slightly sunny day and found enough to charge my mobile phone, just. So outside and / or in bright sunlight should work as Jackery state.
Sturdy piece of kit. I can charge my phone and tablet directly from the solar panel.
Also, bought a Jackery portable power source, the solar panel will charge this up too
I bought this to use with PowerOak Powerbanks as I do not own a Jackery Powerbank . in use I was getting an easy 85 watts from this panel into my PowerOak , the panel was not angled towards the sun only hanging vertical on my garden fence , it might supply more if angled , just a pity it does not come with any adapter sockets or leads clamp that would allow it to be used to charge a lead acid battery etc even though the specs on the data sheet in the box said compatible for charging a lead acid battery .
product looks good but unable to use until i can get any 8mm dc adapter to fit uk standard fittings ie 5.5mm or anderson connections Jackery use to supply adapter with it but with newer version of solar panel they decided in there wisdom not to supply any more. so i cannot comment on the panel until i can get some adapters waiting for china and USA to deliver I can know see why Jackery where offering a 30 pound discount no problem if you buy all jackery equipement but nobody is using 8mm connections in the UK
update. bought jackery E240 solar panel works perfect Jackery gave 30 refund on solar panel and 20 off E240 and a free case for all of my troubles can’t fault there back up service still couldn’t get a 8mm fitting in this country
