For a light hoovering. But need the booster on . The box when it came was in a disgraceful state ripped squashed. You can tell it had had rough treatment. And I had visions of it not working at all.Would I buy it again. Hmmmm. Debatable. Time will tell.
Absolutely brilliant. Lightweight long lasting battery; light great for under furniture and fabulous for cleaning under the bed due to its shape. Fabulous!
Bought this as reviews suggested it was good , however the suction is not great and it blocks up after a couple of uses , so very dissapointed
Like the booster suction; easy to assemble parts and the light weight design.
Bit top heavy but very pleased overall Lovely not to having a cord dragging around
It’s very lightweight and quiet. Even my cat isn’t bothered by the noise. It runs over the carpet so smoothly you don’t think it’s picking much up and then you realise it’s full. It comes with tools to make stair and corner cleaning really easy. The boost option is good for really dirty patches. Altogether, a good buy.
The light weight was good…the suction was great ,I was surprised…you have to clean the roller brush often as hair gets wrapped around it…but thats a simple job…the emptying of the dirt in the container is simple to do…this is a really good buy .
Habe ihn fr mein Caf im einsatz und verdammt ist der gut super zu reinigen und die saugleistung mit nix zu vergleichen top einfach nur zu empfehle
I looked at loads of vacuums. Decided on this one due to it reputable name. Glad I did. I got it discounted on Prime day. Very quiet compared to my last vacuum. Easy to manoeuvre and empty when done. I find it has great suction. You can either keep your finger on the trigger whilst hoovering or flick the switch to keep the trigger pressed in. I also tried it cleaning my car with the attachments. It works well. Highly recommended.
This cleaner doesn’t weigh much but its a really good rechargeable stick vacuum cleaner. It is also pretty quiet for a vacuum cleaner. It is half a kilo lighter than the more powerful version Krcher VC 6 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, 2 Suction Levels, Running Time: up to 50 min, Weight: 2.8 kg, 25.2 V Battery, Wall Mount with Charging Function, Floor and Crevice Nozzle, Dust Brush
The running time is only 30 minutes on low power which is considerably less than the 50 minutes from a VC6. 30 minutes is however adequate to vacuum a 2 bedroom flat, so unless you need the larger area, this VC4 is probably more economical.
It’s designed so that the wall stand provides storage for the attachments as well as acting as a charging station. If you can’t attach the charging stand to the wall, for example living in rented accommodation, the charging cable can be connected directly to the battery handle which has flashes to show when it’s charging.
The gloss black plastic pipe unlike the VC6’s metal one and assorted attachments clip in place and are much easier to remove than push fit connectors that so many other makes use. The pipe also runs an electrical connection to the main head, powering a light and motors for the brush.
At first, I thought the cleaner wasn’t particularly powerful, until I pressed the big boost button on the back. The On/Off trigger can be squeezed for short blasts with the cleaner, but for more normal usage, there is a clip that can be swung around to hold the trigger down.
It’s really easy to empty and the filter are easy to extract and replace for cleaning.
Love this, super handy to run round the house after my floofy Labrador! Great to have the smaller attachment to clean stairs, cars and hard to reach places. No issue with battery time, fine to run through the downstairs of a 4 bed house with the boost mode activated and no loss of suction. No real comparison as this is the first wireless vacuum I have owned but it doesn’t seem overly heavy for me and my 9 year old nephew was singing it’s praises as he was using it!!!

This is the 2nd Karcher cordless cleaner I have had the opportunity to use, the first being the VC 4, and this one is much better. It arrived well packaged in a retail box and inside you get the Cordless Vac, Long Metal Suction Pipe, Motorised Light Up Head, Crevice Nozzle, 2-in-1 Upholstery Nozzle, Wall Mounted Storage & Charging Bracket, Mains Adapter, and Instructions.
Operating it is very simple. You juts pull and hold the trigger or pull and lock the trigger on to operate. There is a boost button, that once pushed will turn on the boost function until the trigger is released.
The filter just pulls out from the top-rear of the vac and the battery has a dual release clip, left & right, and slides out from the bottom rear of the cleaner.
It can be used with or without the metal extension pole, depending on what you are intending to use it on.
I found it very easy to manoeuvre around furniture, particularly things like the dining room table and chairs and the pick-up was pretty good, bearing in mind the power rating. Obviously, it was more effective in the boost function, but this does reduce battery run time. There are some lights on the front of the motorised head unit, handy for darkened areas. It is not overly heavy and despite having a bad back, I did not have any issues with using it. I tried it on, tiled, laminate and carpeted floors and it did struggle a little with our carpet, as the pile is very thick. To be honest, I would normally use an upright vac for the carpets due to the thickness of the pile and use a cordless for our tiled and laminate floors for the convenience factor. On thinner piled carpets it would be fine.
Unlike the VC 4 I tried, this one come with a proper wall mount come charging station. So, while it is being stored in the mount it is being charged at the same time. If for some reason you do not want or cannot use the wall mount, the mains adapter can be plugged directly into the vac.
You do get the usual crevice nozzle and upholstery nozzle, but you do not get one of those small, powered heads, which I find very useful for stairs and the carpets in my car.
Overall, I think this is a decent enough cordless vac at a reasonable price. Maybe more suited to a smaller house or as a second vac to an upright. The only thing I am unable to comment on is the medium to long-term reliability,
I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.
NB. For a sizing guide, squares in photos are 1cm.
This cordless handheld vacuum from Karcher has been very effective, proving especially useful for stairs and the laminate flooring in our kitchen and dining room. The suction power is better than I expected and it is lightweight and easy to operate. I like the switch to hold the trigger down, which saves finger ache when using for a while. It also has a boost button on the back which dramatically increases suction for stubborn messes, but use this sparingly as prolonged use will deplete the battery charge quickly.
Personally, I don’t think I would be happy to rely in this alone as my only vacuum, but in combination with my other vacuum (a conventional, wired, non handheld Shark bagless model) it has been great. The wireless aspect gives it the edge over the shark on areas like stairs and under the dining room table. It’s also much easier to grab and use for quick spills and urgent touch up jobs as opposed to getting the bigger heavier shark out every time. The main drawback is the limited charge time (30 mins) and three hours it takes to reach full charge. I can just about get round my whole house on a single charge, but it is tight and my 3 bed house isn’t very big!!
Overall this is a very good product and its effectiveness has changed my mind somewhat on cordless handheld models when previously I would have discounted trying them. The build quality is very good, as I would expect for a known brand like Karcher.
Nice bit of kit. Went with the name as I have one of their K 3 pressure washers.
Good value for money and a powerful, highly recommend.
I’ve been using this for a few weeks now. The thing I notice is that it is very light. And it’s very maneuverable. Of course, there’s no lead, so that’s convenient. There is only a small beater brush, so it doesn’t groom the carpet quite as well well as a traditional upright. Suction doesn’t equal a cylinder but it’s reasonable. This one comes with two tools, a brush and a crevice tool. It charges quickly. It’s easy enough to open the dust compartment. One thing I didn’t get on so well with was the pictogram instructions, and what filter you have to wash when, but I got the hang of it eventually. If you’re looking for something flexible and lightweight for a small area, than this does do a good job. I would say it’s a good choice for seniors.
This came well packaged in a bright yellow Kercher branded retail box and inside you get the Main Head Unit, Motorised Floor Nozzle, Power Extension Tube, Crevice Nozzle, Brush, Wall Mount, Mains Power Adapter for Charging and Instructions
It is pretty simple and easy enough to use, with the mains power adapter plugging into the light and a flashing screen light on the top while charging. This goes out when charged.
A pull trigger on the handle starts its and as soon as you let go, it switches off. There is then a boost button, which when you push it, it engages the extra power and this stays on as long as you continue to hold the trigger in. Let go and then pull the trigger again and it goes normal power. There is also a lever by the trigger, which enables you to switch on the vac without the need to constantly hold the trigger in.
The dust bin is quite small and can be emptied either still attached to the main head unit or taken off, depending on what you prefer. There is then a small button you push and the bottom pops open.
On the rear of the head unit, there is another button you push to enable you to remove the filter from the back of the head unit. Everything easy to get at and simple enough to take apart.
The whole thing is relatively light, and this is partly due to the lowish power, 143W and the fact that the motorized head is not that big, it is quite narrow width wise. This does affect it pick-up capability and it is noticeably better with the boost power working then without. It is certainly not a vac for a medium — large sized house. Being light, it is easy to manoeuvre around and get into smallish spaces. It does lack the powered small brush head of more expensive models, something I find very useful for stairs, car, etc.
Our carpet does have quite a thick pile and you can heart it struggle with it and I would say it is much better suited to thinner piles carpets, laminate, and tiled floors. Particularly as there is no brush height adjusted. Due to the power restrictions, it is not going to be best suited for things like pet hair.
Overall, I personally think this is a decent enough entry level cordless vac but it does have its limitation. Karcher are a well-known brand, albeit in other areas. If I were a single, pet free person, living in a flat, then this could be decent, low-cost cleaning option.
I have two shark cordless vacuums with twin batteries which I purchased when they first came out and they are still going strong, albeit with a few new parts here and there. I also tried a cheaper cordless vacuum which I just found too weak to do the job. This Krcher VC 6 11986610, Cordless Vacuum Cleaner was something different than the norm I thought. I know the brand well, as I imagine do most people and I have one of their pressure washers. The livery of the vacuum is very similar to that of my pressure washer in its eye catching yellow and black. Out of the box it was simple to put together and it comes with a good range of tools. The first thing that struck me when I powered it up was just how quiet it is – it is easily the quietest cordless vacuum I have ever used. The second thing I noticed was how well the head picked up debris right up to the edges of skirting boards and kitchen plinths. Its performance in this regard outdoes my Shark which can leave debris close to the boards. A third big plus is its suction which is superb and if you have a carpet with any length of pile you will see the tram lines as I call them as you do with a powerful upright. The battery is also worthy of a mention. There is only one and for this price it would have been nice to have two. However, the battery lasts and lasts, again outdoing the Shark. So in summary I am delighted with this machine it is an excellent cordless vacuum – the quietest I have ever used and one of the most powerful.
My Dyson gave up the ghost so I was in the market for a new vacuum cleaner when this Krcher VC 6 cordless one appeared.
It arrived the next day in a box with the signature Krcher bright yellow. So bright that you could probably see it from space. Inside of this was the vacuum cleaner itself, and attachments. As the battery seemed to be already charged I was able to do a test run immediately.
This thing is light, very light, one hand use light, and it is quiet. I can actually hear the TV whilst I’m doing the vacuuming. Stairs are a doddle, as is carrying this thing up and down the stairs. I simply cannot believe that I’ve gone for so long using a full sized upright vacuum cleaner.
Krcher have gifted the cleaning world with a fantastic vacuum that is light, easy to maintain, simple to empty, and is quiet. One of the attachments even has headlights for seeing the dirt in your ground better. This is well worth the asking price.
Considering how little noise this vacuum makes, it has plenty of suction power. I really like that there is a switch over the power button that can be used to keep the power on without having to hold down the button.
It’s lightweight, feels comfortable to hold, simple to change accessories and rather surprisingly, it can manage thick mess, like straw. I wouldn’t normally use a vacuum to clear up such thick straw, but used it as an example in the video of what the Karcher can do. The boost button really makes a difference too, but it does eat into the battery, so be quick as it shortens the normal 30 minute battery life.
I’ve had a few cordless vacuums now. This one was easy to assemble, fairly easy to empty and most of all it was very effective at cleaning my floors. The charge seems to last a long time. That is, it lasts long enough for me to do my whole bungalow. It hasn’t run out on me yet. It’s very lightweight too which is a bonus because I have weak arms. All in all this is a very good cordless cleaner for carpets and hardwood floors.
It’s quiet and performs well. It is suitable for hard floors, and carpets, and the suction is very good. It is very light and comfortable to use and very easy to empty and clean. Cleaning of stairs is a breeze.
It comes with a power lock button, so there’s no need to hold down the power button all the time. It’s easy to set up and change from standing to handheld. Large universal floor nozzle, crevice nozzle, 2-in-1 dusting brush z wall mount with built-in charging function means that storing and charging the vacuum cleaner couldn’t be easier.
Well, this is surprising. It’s by some way the quietest vacuum I’ve ever used. I was a bit worried when I first switched this on and heard it that it was going to prove to be seriously underpowered as it’s so quiet, but the suction isn’t bad at all, and this is much less prone to blocking than our AEG cordless vacuum.
This is also astonishingly light. Even the motorised handle section is light and easy to use. Really easy to carry round between storeys in a house, and not at all tiring to have in the hand for the inbuilt battery’s run time. Much lighter than other cordless vacuums I’ve used where the motor is built in to a hand held section.
This comes in a compact box with the pieces held in place with cardboard packaging — it’s very small and neat. Inside the box were the vacuum and its components, including a general purpose nozzle and upholstery nozzle, the tube, a charger cable, a wall mount bracket (plus fixings), as well as a quick start guide and manual.
This is a very simple vacuum, with just two power settings — basic ‘on’ and a ‘boost’ button to add extra suction/power consumption. The power switch is a trigger button on the inside of the handle. This doesn’t automatically depress and stay on so that the vacuum is continuously operating until switched off. Instead, the power button is a light touch trigger that can be held so that the vacuum is powered on manually or locked with a little flick button. The pulsing function is good for conserving battery life.
It’s not all good news. Because this is a sealed unit vacuum with the battery built in, once it’s flat you have to wait for the battery to recharge. Which takes a not inconsiderable four and a half hours. The run time is probably fine for a smaller home, but isn’t sufficient to get round a larger property in one go and unlike systems with removable batteries you can’t buy a second battery to extend run time.
This isn’t height adjustable — you can use it with or without the tube, but that’s the extent to which it can be altered.
The colour may not necessarily be to everyone’s taste. This is the same classic Karcher yellow and black as their pressure washers and window vacs. The housing is made entirely from ultra-shiny plastic and the yellow and black combination is certainly noticeable.
Pros
– Lightweight
– Easy to use
– Power-saving features
– Extremely quiet in operation
– Decent suction
Cons
– Only 30 minutes continuous run time
– Takes four and a half hours to recharge
– Height isn’t adjustable
– Colour is (pretty literally!) a bit marmite
Early days, however I am pleased to be able to review the KARCHER VC 4 cordless plus bag less vacuum.
I know a fair few like to keep to a good brand name, and let’s face it KARCHER is everywhere at the moment.
I have this cordless vac downstairs and another cordless similar upstairs.
I have disabilities with metal plates, pins and screws holding my back together, so struggle in pain. I do have my sebo pet X7 which is the ultimate for me but on a bit of hair from my dogs and a quick vac, these are great.
Arrives in very safe packaging, important as no scratches on the machine
Extremely easy to put together, in fact easier than my other cordless.
Came with charge to test, there is a green bold light across the front.
USB charge required, to charge the point is right side of the handle.
Feels strong and solid
Even though I had vacuumed my lounge with my SEBO for pets, I went over with the KARCHER and still more hair entered this machine.
Comes with a full head, and a couple of attachments for different surfaces.
Comes with raw plugs and screws should you wish to hang off the floor.
Comes with a thick manual in different languages plus a detailed guide on quick start via a pamphlet. Because I already had a cordless version, they mainly work similar. I found it easier to click together myself, as not many parts to worry about.
English is on page 10 of the booklet.
It is important before use to charge fully as per instructions
The LED display is different from my other. Usually there are three windows all three lit, then two, then one, so I know when requires charging.
On the KARCHER slightly different, when charging flashes green until charged.
Full charge, no flashing, pure green line
Flashes green means 1 sec on and 1 sec off means 2 minutes running time left,
Flashes green means 125 ms on + 125 ms off, battery fault.
Flashes red means floor nozzle is blocked.
Every time used, needs cleaning out and I use a soft cloth or duster.
Once all attached, the start button can be used two ways
Hold handle and at the same time press the lever in, will start, remove finger will stop.
For continuous use, press in the start button, in front is a twist knob, turn it to lock as on all the time, until you release yourself. The boost button is good and decent power to pick most things up.
The KARCHER is a bit taller than my other cordless and I have to say more heavier. However when using, I do not notice.
Use for cleaning the home on carpets, hard floors, floorboards, cars, curtains, fabric furnishing, getting hairs off yourself, ie, clothes etc.
Not to bad when on in regards the sound, similar to most cordless
The price is on par with others of this design
Usually 30 minutes max in one full charge
Takes a good while to recharge, I do mine overnight, so ready if needed the next day.
A compact vacuum , does get surplus hairs up from my Alaskan Malamute dog who is blowing his winter coat currently.
All parts all intact work well, and well made. A good German make.
Used twice a day since receiving
Ensure anything that can damage the vac head is removed from the floor
Anyone can use, and good for in between days when not using the bigger vacuum
The head twists around and can get very low
Good for the elderly, the disabled, as easy to move around.
A little demo video, of moving around and the decibels.
I do recommend, I have one up and downstairs now
So quick to whizz around the home.
Thank you to the seller
I hope my review helps you
Despite the poor packaging from Amazon (see pics) the box was really neat and striking. Hard not to be being bright yellow!
My dyson packed up last week and I wasn’t interest in paying dyson prices for a stick vac immediately so went for this one from karcher. Got vacuuming straight away, they have lights on the front which is a step up from my current dyson but I was seriously impressed my how quiet it was. The floor tool was also great and you can see the suction performance by the lines on my carpet (we all love the lines!)
In summary, highly recommend, very impressed.
