This is a great 18 volt battery powered router from Makita. Although the cost of accessories can push up the overall price it still represents great value. Accessories can be found cheaply online and you only but what you need. I strongly advise buying the plunge base for this as it gives greater control, but cheaper options or DIY bases could be used too. Battery life is good with it being a brushless motor when used with a 5A battery pack. Highly recommended router, especially compared to the cheaper Chinese copies. Buy the genuine router and accessories and you’ll have no regrets. If you can’t afford genuine stuff consider the Katsu brand instead.
Really powerful, good price, easy to use & good build quality! I’m a carpenter an it’s ideal for the type of work I do on a day to day basis! It’s got good power in its motor and it’s got easy controls to use an understand to!
I was unsure if if would use one of these, but how wrong was I. Awesome tool. So light and agile, if you are on the fence you won’t regret it!
Used for rounding over and Channel cuts good dust extractio
great tool, i always buy makita gear, but word of warning this comes with a Euro size 6mm collet, most of the stuff in the UK is 1/4” size, and they wont fit a 6mm collet, you will need to buy a separate collet, i got one for 8
I love this tool, genuinely can’t fault it. However Amazon dropped the price by 30 a week after I bought i
Exactly what I wanted in a router small enough to handle easily and powerful
Great little router… easy to use and versatile to the point of wondering where its been all my life.. buying naked tools is great way to save money not that it was expensive as its great value for money with a makpac..
Bought it for doweling and couldn’t be happier. There may be better and there may be worse but I’m happy with the Makita.
Good quality makita tool usual.
Disappointed you have to buy separately plunge bed and extra fence to make full use of route
Versatile and surprisingly tough. I’ve worked this thing hard. Burned out a good few bits. A must for light jobs like door hinges. So light and quick.
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!
THE COLLET IS 6MM AND A 1/4 BIT DO NOT FIT
WHAT DO I DO?
Great item. Makes jobs so much easier and the benefits of no leads is great.
Best buy yet, great for reassessing hinges on a doo
Great wee router use it for cutting out hinges or putting a mould on the edge of mdf get a lot of use out it with a 5 ah battery
Hi

I have bought a lot of Makita tools in the past but this has to be one of the best easy to userect a very well built quality produc
I am new to this but love it and hoping to get better at it 🙂
Great piece of kit, easy to change bits and very nice tool to use.
Used for cuting door hinges. Product helped to cut work load in half.
This router is the nuts !!!
Perfect for light use such as pencil rounds etc
After getting used to it I was using it one handed
So handy not to have to muck about with cables
Highly recommended
Amazing product, very handy especially for site work, best piece of kit I’ve ever bough
Unbelievable piece of kit, replaces my 110v router . Use it for hinges and locks, no problems with fire strips or plunging. Comes with a solid box and the price has increased 50%. Got it for 99 in October from Amazo
Brought for my son who is a carpenter great product had shopped around this was best price
I use this for rebates it doesn’t struggle at all I’m so surprised with the speed and powe
However, it’s a great little router. It’s as good as the corded versions (I have both 110v and 240v) for power but better because it has the dual lights. This makes it far easier to free hand router. It’s heavy but this is a good thing, it doesn’t vibrate, and has a great electronic brake. I use it for hinges, latches, locks and as a laminate trimmer for the most part, which it does effortlessly. It comes with a fence, dust extraction nozzle, 3/8 and 1/4 inch collets.
I’ve had this tool for a few months now, I’ve used it for jobs such a hinges, arris edges, small mouldings or for just having so get into small places. I haven’t looked into getting the extra attachments yet but will definitely be getting those in the future.
People have mentioned about the weight with a higher Ah battery but that’s really down to the user, I personally dont mind the extra weight as it helps with stability.
I bought this back when it was 100 pounds but I would still purchase at the price shown now as I really do think it’s worth it even just for hinges, as it saves time and money.
This like others have said is a fantastic bit of kit
Very pleased with Makita in general
Just as good as my 110v, absolutely perfect for hinges locks etc. Definitely recommend. Well worth the money.
Why would you want a mains router when you have this, great for trimming and hinges, easy to use and no cables to get in the way
Seems ok. Makita tend to be near the top for quality. It didn’t do what I needed. Shame really. I’d love to have kept it.
Love this router . The build quality is second to none and the performance is excellent. I purchased a Makita dual charger and two 6ah batteries for extended run time. The Makita looks like a part taken from a terminator .
I also have the corded version but since buying this amazing machine it’s vitually made the old one redundant. It’s so versatile and practical. Brilliant piece of kit.
Unbelievable machine a must have for anybody running 18v makita tools already
No more annoying lead’s. works a dream. so far so good.
Just wow it’s a game changer no lead its got alot of power doesn’t slow down when trimming would recommend
what a great little palm router. one of my favourite little tools
I like this product alot it’s very reliable and it is great for mortice locks on doors as well as latches. Very quick and easy to use. Worth every penny as saves so much time and depth adjustment is very easy to do and is spot on for any depth for example hinges and latches. Also comes with a guide that is very easy and simple to set up I have found no use to buy the plunge base with this router the trimmer base works fine and visibly in work piece is very good!
Great to have no cable !
Nice smooth motor, reasonable battery life on my old 3Ah batteries, a little top heavy with the 3Ah battery, I guess 4 & 5Ah batteries would be more top heavy, but the router body is a smallish diameter so you can get a good grip on it, experiment with the body rotation as cutting to help with the top heavy-ness.
Great bit of Makita kit !
cant put into words just how awesome this is, coupled with a 5amp battery its unstoppable
