So much to do after the story. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was being Mary Jane. But aside from that I loved the game I prefer it over the newest Spiderman game.
This game won game of the year and rightfully so. The graphics are amazing, and the gameplay great. The story is good too. Best game we’ve bought in years
One of the best PS4 games. Very fun to play and not too hard. Obviously it’s now a vouple of years old, but definitely a good experience regardless of the age of the player.

I actually dont play many video games but I gave this game a try. The story was interesting and the graphics were top-notch. Quite an immersive game too as when you play side missions it somewhat feels like everything is connected and as if you really are a hero lol.

One word to describe this game. AMAZING!! Cannot believe I help off from playing it for 2 years. I love story-driven games including Uncharted 4, TLOU, God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn. Spider-Man is right up there with these AAA titles, and may even be the best of the bunch. Terrific story, great character development, top gameplay and to top it off an incredibly fun combat system. This could easily be a Hollywood blockbuster. If you’re reading the reviews here considering buying this game, go for it!

For the product itself, the disc I got was the best. Sometimes the game flashed blue when playing and it was too bright at times, even after adjustment.
No, I’m not someone who loves comics or superheroes, but I’m someone who loves good games. This one is a good example of a really good game. I loved all “recent” Batman games and this one reminds me of them since it has a similar fighting mechanics, allows you to be stealthy and is quite long while not becoming boring. I even got the Platinum trophy without becoming tired of repetitive tasks. They can get quite repetitive, but never to the extent which makes you lower your overall score. What made this game especially cool for me is that you can’t kill anyone, so my 6 year old daughter wasn’t scared when she saw me playing it. And I played it every evening since I liked it too much. Once PS5 is out, I’m getting the next instalment.
For anyone who grew up in the 80s like me this is just jaw dropping. Swinging between buildings is just as you imagined it as a kid. Its really showing off the ps4.

Really good game. Good story. The game play gets a little repetitive though but it’s worth the play.
The item came next day with Prime and in mint condition. This game is an absolute joy to play. The controls are intuitive, but not easy to master which gives the game a nice learning curve. The story is a little short and at times shoeboxes villains in but feels fleshed out and thought through rather than being slapped together at the last minute.
You can expect to spend 15+ hours completing the main story and roughly 30 hours to get all the collectibles and finish up everything.
The DLC adds roughly 5 hours a piece on to the end, so you’re looking at an additional 15 hours in total. The DLC does not come with this edition, it is a separate purchase.
You can probably get this cheaper direct from the PSN store but even at around 20 this is an absolute bargain and a must play for all PS4 owners.
MUST have in your ps4 collection along with uncharted series and god of war.
This has high praises that are well deserved, this sets the benchmark of what other games should be striving for!

Amazing price for such a fantastic game. However, I was hoping it would have multiple language options but only seems to be playable in English.
One of the best games I’ve played in 2019. The graphics are really good and the game play is smooth. Unfortunately, with the speed of releases, some games are a bit “glitchy”, but I’ve not had any issues with this.
The scenery is beautiful, especially when you finish the main game and start to finish the side missions. Enjoy!!!
I have never been a big Marvel and bought simply for something new to play but my god it’s a awesome action game and so fun. The controls are easy to master and the story is good. The boss characters were fun to fight especially Dr Octopus. I got 100% on the main story and bought the DLC because I wanted more. The DLC was ok but I didn’t like how it was split up into 3 parts and some of the side missions you didn’t know what you suppose until you failed. Overall it’s a great game and has made want to check out the movies

This PS4 exclusive game is a must-have. New York is your playground as you become Spider-Man and take advantage of your awesome abilities, having great fun taking on the bad guys. Beautiful graphics and interesting gameplay. Another PlayStation treasure.
Pros: It’s polished, it’s slick, graphics are good, story is great.
Cons: It’s a button masher….your hands will ache. Side tasks with criminals etc are too repetitive. They could have wrote in more interesting ways and scenarios.

Terrific game. Decent storyline. Few games these days have good single player story modes. Nice sense of progression through upgrades and dozens of different outfits with different perks. Similarities to batman albeit swinging rather than gliding through the city. And the map is very true to actual NYC. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic game, I’ve played through it several times now including all the DLC. You can really tell Insomniac Games poured their heart and soul into it. 10/10 would buy again at full price. Can’t wait for the 2nd one (if they ever make one).

From start to finish I absolutely loved this game, the story is on point and the faithful recreation of the city is a joy just to swing around!
I have purchased this for my grandson for Xmas it was recommended by a friend so I am unable to comment on the game .
Only recently got a PS4, but this is far and away the best game we’ve seen to show off the console’s power (far more than FIFA20). You could spend hours swinging through the beautifully realised steel and glass canyons of its virtual Manhattan without even advancing the game itself. But then add a good and varied story, a mix of puzzles and fighting and unexpected shifts of character, and although at times it’s a bit too user friendly – giving hints as to what to do next before you’ve had time to work it our for yourself – and it’s a whole multiverse of fun…
Honestly, the entirety of playing this game brought back memories of both watching the cartoon from the 90s, and playing through the Spiderman Games on PS1 – both slammed together and brought up to date for the current generation of gaming. That does it absolutely no justice, but it’s just so freaking good. Buy it now and thank me later!

Looks great, the swinging-through-the-city is very well done, the storyline is interesting, stealth missions are lots of fun. I’d say the main game is well worth it, BUT don’t bother with the DLC unless you’re a completionist. The first DLC (with Black Cat) is okay, but it introduces a new set of enemies with frankly annoying abilities. The second DLC (Hammerhead) just gets worse. The combat goes from fun/challenging to annoying and no fun at all very quickly in the DLC. I got partway into the Hammerhead DLC and just gave up, because even on easy-mode you end up being constantly pummelled by mini-guns, rockets, grenades, flying-shield guys and when you die it’s back to the start of the fight all over again.
It’s like they realised that the DLC storylines weren’t all that long and decided to try to make it last longer by just ramping up the difficulty of the fights, but only succeeded in sucking all the fun out of it.
Probably one of the best games i’ve ever played period. the level of detail, easter eggs and openworld was incredible. props to insomniac for making this. 100% must get for marvel fans too
A good foray into the Spiderman universe, loads of fun to be had swinging through the streets and running up the side of buildings, the fighting style can take a little getting used to but overall a pretty good game.

Pre ordered this without reading reviews or watching any gameplay videos as I’m a huge Spider-man fan and I was not disappointed. What a great game, I love the Web-slinging and the fighting combos are easy to learn. Story is great so far, still not finished it yet and there are plenty of side quests to keep you busy. Graphics are lovely and I heard they reduced the quality between the beta and release versions but they are still great regardless. Plenty of updates to for new suits and there’s a nice array of weapons to use to keep gameplay fresh instead of button bashing all of the time. Love this game, highly recommend. Amazon service great again it arrived before release day!

This game is honestly amazing! It has me hooked! I had played it far too much and I’ve only had it for one week! This is the first game in a number of years I have wanted to 100% complete and I am considering buying the dlc too! If you’re considering buying this, then you definitely should!!
I brought this for my husband and he loves it. It is intense, and will take a bit of time to get use to the techniques and etc but will keep hooked on for a while!
What a FANTASTIC game. I do not usually play single player games, but I made an exception just this once and pre-ordered this game for release day delivery and BOY was I impressed. The reason I don’t play single player games is because gaming for me is about making friends and just meeting new people in general, so I tend to play online multiplayer games like GTA, COD, Red Dead, Dead By Daylight, etc.
This game is incredible. The physics, the gameplay, the storyline, the open world (they’ve recreated NYC and it looks stunning). This is probably one of the best, if not THE best single player game on PS4. It helps if you like the Spider-man movies and New York City. I only wish the game was longer, and I do not approve of the (not free) storyline expansion packs. Other than that, I cannot wait for the next game.
Fantastic game, I recently got a PS4 pro, and after a couple of huge updates, this game is a joy to play. Nice open world, crisp graphics, probably very long, lots of side-missions. Really suggest you get into this if you can!
This is a remarkable game. If you own a PS4 and haven’t played it yet grab it as soon as you have time to play. The combat is fun the story is good and web swinging is surprisingly therapeutic after a hard day’s work.
Hands down THE BEST Spider-Man game I’ve played. Very rarely did it feel repetitive. Great graphics and voice acting. The story is fantastic and has a few twists too. Spent over 25 hours on the main game, haven’t got around to doing its DLC yet. Plenty of suits to choose from too. One of the best exclusives on the PS4.
Had an absolute blast playing this game the combat once getting used to us very easy to control the boss battles can be challenging but fun to play and there are plenty of side missions to keep you happy plus unlockable costumes to find aswell. Highly recommended.

Bought this game because of the hype. I’m not a fan of Spider-Man but I thought I would give this a try. I don’t regret buying this it’s an absolutely amazing game!!! Everything about it is amazing!!
Good game. Best in marvel world so far. BUT, its not even nearly standing to new god of war. Its good, its one of the bests of 2018 definitely, but N1 goty is new GOW for sure 🙂 still if u own ps4, its must play.
I’m about 20% in to this game and loving it. It has the best web-slinging physics of any of the games, combat can seem like button mashing at first but once you get in to the flow of things it has a lot more to it. You will not survive long without the ability to dodge on time (a bit like Batman Arkham Asylum).
The map is massive, the upgrades are equally as expansive. There are many costumes with different attributes (quicker focus bar fill, or bullet proof etc), and many upgrades to your equipment. The over arching story line seems to be going somewhere interesting, however I can spend loads of time ignoring this and exploring the city and going for collectibles instead!
Boss battles have a puzzle and timing element to almost all of them so far, however once you’ve figured them out you’ve pretty much nailed it (so far). It’s not too difficult and my 8 yr old son can pick up and play it too… it’s no Dark Souls.
Overall I can see my self getting lost in this game for a good 30 hours, well worth the money paid.

I had drifted away from video games for a couple of years, mainly using my PS4 for watching Netflix – just didn’t seem to be able to get into anything. I bought this mainly because of all the hype surrounding it, and was not dissapointed.
Great story and the gameplay is enjoyable and smooth (even if you’re not especially good at it…) What was refreshing in this was that the DLC and added stories were actually substantial, and felt like a real addition to the game and universe as opposed to just being tagged on for a cash grab.
Buy it.
This game took me a lot longer to finish than I was expecting. Partially because of the sheer amount of things to do in the game but also because I found my self, very often, just swinging around. Climbing to the top of Avengers tower and just jumping off, only to throw my web at the absolute last second. It’s exhilarating! There have been other Spider-Man games that accomplish this but to nowhere near the same degree.
Graphically this game is something special. Swinging around town you often can’t help but be taken a back by what you’re seeing. This is a game stunning, especially on PS4 Pro.
The game’s story is great and it’s refreshing to play as a more experienced Spider-Man in terms of what he’s seen and done. Finding clues of his past as well as his present and future are always interesting. This is far from the same origin story you’ve read / seen / played 100 times before!
I did enjoy the game, however too many repetitive missions and that music when you start to swing, sucked; it got so annoying that I would sometimes mute the sound.

Synopsis.

Timelord Thoughts.
I’ll sum up my experience playing Spider-Man very quickly, “amazing” the main storyline was simply brilliant & featured some great character arcs, plenty of drama & emotion along with some surprise twists which builds up to a heartbreaking climax which literally had me teary eyed, the voice acting is top notch & the music score which plays as you web sling across New York City gave me goosebumps.
The graphics are visually impressive, crisp, clear to the smallest of details & features a huge open world map of New York along with some very impressive side quests & missions, there’s backpacks to pick up, Black Cat cats to spot, crimes on the street to stop, Harry’s working stations to investigate plus a assortment of various other challenges which allow you to upgrade various skills, gadgets & unlock additional Spider-Man suits Avengers Armoured, The Tobey Maguire suit & Homecoming suits are all included).
The combat & web-swinging mechanics flow very smoothly & are very easy to control, within minutes you’ll be web slinging across New York performing various tricks while during combat you’ll jump, dodge, flip & use a variety of punches & kicks against your enemies along with various special moves & web gadgets to stick bad guys to walls, cars & sidewalks.
The game takes around 20-25 hours to complete but if like me you purchased the season pass there’s 3 additional DLC chapters that have been added making this game excellent value for money & there’s not a whiff of any of those money grabbing microtransactions, I loved playing this game so much that I’ve actually went & platinum it.
My only gripe & it’s just a small one is the occasional dull side missions like chasing pigeons, those annoying screwball missions or those sneaky stealth sections which break up the momentum of the action, I’ve never been a fan of these were if your spotted it’s game over, surely in this age of next generation gaming we’ve outgrown these type of side quests, however this is only a minor quibble for a over wise excellent game.
There are two post credit scenes which are obviously setting up a sequel (please) that spins a new twist on classic villain that hints of a darker threat to come which will put Spider-Man/Peter Parker to the test both physically & emotionally.
Overall, Marvel’s Spider-Man makes a impressive PS4 debut & Insomniac Games have pulled out all the stops & delivered a fantastic gaming experience that is a love letter to Spidey fans, the stunning graphics & challenging varied game play makes for a fun filled open world action adventure & is one of the best games I’ve played in years that I have no hesitation in highly recommending to Spidey fans.
The game is pretty good and long lasting. Varying challenges. Harder to start with when you have no gadgets etc but work and do challenges etc to build up gadgets and suit mods and skills and you’re well away. Story is quite good. Probably 30hrs of game play. Would need to be set to easy for children.
Incredibly well-made and well-acted game. The boss fights are challenging without being cheap, the web-swinging around an impressively-details facsimile of New York is outstanding, and the animations and character models are outstanding. Honestly one of the best depictions of the Spider-Universe I’ve ever seen, and it takes the time to give Peter Parker (remember him?) his own character arc independent of Spider-Man’s. If you have a PS4, you should own this game.
