I was surprised how much I like these. They are super versatile providing you plenty of options. Great quality, but my only reservation is I feel the Microjig products are priced a little high which I have to admit inhibits me from buying more. I’m certain I would have picked up more clamps and accessories if they were more competitively priced.
Excelente producto claro la marca lo respaldada, sin bargo por lo mismo su precio es alto, pero lo vale
Ayuda a realizar operaciones con la sierra que no podra hacer seguramente de otra manera
This is a great system and saved me money on having to buy a bunch of specialty clamps. It is a complete clamping system that I am finding more and more uses for on a daily basis. If you don’t have one, get one. You won’t regret it.
I haven’t used this yet but based on You Tube videos I am sure this system will be a great benefit in my shop/garage.
This is an awesome product. It’s very easy to use and adds an awesome clamping system without having to buy a ton of t-track. I highly recommend the MATCHFIT Dovetail clamping system!
This clamping system is really amazing! – It makes clamping so much easier and is quickly build into a jig, no T-tracks, no hassle with moving screwheads. I am very satisfied with this system. I also would like to mention that the dovetail router-bit is of an optimal quality.
I like the clamping system, I wanted to make a jointer sled for my table saw and it worked well. It comes with a 1/2 shank router bit which works very well. Some have complained about the size of the bit but it shouldn’t be a concern for any full size router. If you are using a trim router plan on buying the 1/4 shank bit they have available.
A must have for any woodshop it is a game changer perfect for any beginner to pro woodworke
Great system. Replaces the use of t-tracks in many jigs with dovetail tracks. Quite versatile.
I got this after watching several YouTube videos.
It helps a lot to make the jig panels to be used on a table saw. Very flexible and has a good quality. However, it is a little pricy.
Make sure to router a first pass with a 3/8 inch straight bit. Be patient.
Good value for a kit that included mostly everything needed for a Matchfit jig system
These clamps are great to work with dovetail slots which you can put on crosscut sleds or diagonal cutting jigs but that’s about it.
clamps are very useful with the dovetail groove system. the rest of the kit dedicated to making a proper sled an easier projec
Gracias
handy clamps for difficult clamping situations and router bit works well, made several jigs, pictured is a jig to route a guitar saddle slot on a bridge, and routed dovetail tables for table saw, drill press and router table. Well built and versatile, haven’t used the included hardware variety stuff yet but I can see some future jigs using them. Although it’s a bit over priced, I think I will find more uses for them.
I used this to make a small workhorse suitable for a small wood working workshop since I have limited space. Awesome compact workbench tools
I should have gotten this product a long time ago
If you’re a professional Carpenter/Woodworker or just someone who likes to “build” from time to time, why not have a system that makes your work most effective & efficient? Make sure to make relief cut (I used a 1/4″ spiral bit) before sending the dovetail bit through.
5 stars deserving..

This is a very well-designed and super useful system for any woodworking shop. Completely versatile for easily making great jigs for just about any tool in the shop – table saw, drill press, bandsaw, router table, you name it. Watch some of the videos on YouTube. This system is limited only by your imagination!
Good starter kit. Open door to clever project! Quality product!
The only issue I had was my router wondering a bit through the intersections. With practice this will resolve itself.
The convenience of this system is simply unmatched, and the quality of the clamps, bit, and accessories matches the price.
These clamps are fantastic because they are so versatile. For example, you can make a super effective tapering jig in a couple of minutes that will handle 99% of needs for angled or exotic cuts. The same jig can then be used to extend a saw fence, or even be a surface for clamped glue ups.
At the same time, they are surprisingly strong and very well made.
These seem expensive, but quite honestly, I use them all the time.
unlimited uses but to be safe read the instructions and safety rules.
I am building out new workspaces and needed versatility in clamping options for cutting boards, flags, furniture, boxes, shelves, etc. Had originally wanted T-track but this was a much better option because it does the same jobs, and easily converts for new uses on the fly (rout new line and use clamps) instead of waiting to buy new t tracks. I think it looks better too. Watch the Matchfit videos and they will convince you too.
Like it so much I am going to by more matchfit products
Expensive product.
You must route out dovetail deeper than the instructions say. Clamping is not tight unless you do
Works great. Directions are a little hard to get the first time.
Open box, insert router bit into router, route dovetails, done. You’ve got a jig. This thing is sweet and I look forward to finding different ways to use it.
I like the idea of the 14 degree dovetail ‘tracks’ and the clamps. With this kit and 4 or 5 total clamps, there isn’t much that you can’t do and do at light speed when it comes to building jigs. I made up a simple taper jig/true edge jig, cut all the necessary tracks and used it to trim some rough edges and create a true edge (or at least as true as my Incra fence can provide) in less than 30 minutes. The jig was for my son as was the wood. My next project is a 42 X 60 Assembly table with evenly spaced 3/4″ dog holes evenly separated by Match Fit tracks in both directions. Much cheaper than T-Track and equally as effective. Lots of plans in the works for these Match Fit parts. GREAT PRODUCT!
I really like the versatility that allows me to customize my jigs.
if ur a diy-woodworker all in, this clamp is a must have, the best clamp in the world,
easy to use, sturdy, build like a tank
Really love this system. I’ve been doing lots of research and watching lots of online videos. Really love the versatility of this system.
I’d been letting making my first jig with this wait behind other projects as I figured this would be a big undertaking. After having done it now though I wish I would have earlier. I started with a basic hold down jig that would just slide along the table saw fence and allow me to run things through at odd angles. Up to now I’ve been using a miter gauge and it never seems to work like I want. Getting this going was as simple as picking a piece of 3/4″ plywood, throwing the bit in a router with an edge guide, and you’re good to go. It took 10 minutes to get 5 slots cut. While pricey, Kreg makes some quality stuff and the bit cuts cleanly. They include a handy gauge so getting the perfect depth is easy as well. I used the cheap 3/4″ plywood and after sliding in the clamps I was able to hold down a piece of oak with no issue and I have to admit I was surprised how well the setup holds up to the stress. I’ve got a bunch of ideas in my head now and can’t wait to get more jigs going. If you find a good deal on this I’d say go for it.
I have four routers, none could handle the huge shank on that bit. Sending it all back and replacing it with the kit minus the router bit. I happened to have a bit that would do the work (but not as slick as this one). Other than that, the product is awesome.
This kit does not come with the wood, only the clamps (or whatever they are called). You have to purchase or make the wooden parts which is fine. Once you have the parts assembled and ready to go, it is difficult (at least for me as a novice) to figure out what I want to do next. I am a smart guy but new to the hobby and want anything that will help my projects be successful and beautiful. I know it is a learning curve so I will be patient. It works great as advertised but would be nice to have better instruction for projects that come after.
The Dovetail Clamp Pro is a revolutionary system that makes t-tracks obsolete.
This system is so flexible, that for each project I come up with ideas for jigs or fixtures that would help speed up or increase the accuracy of the job. I honestly struggle not to use these clamps and system for any woodworking job. We needed to drill the same size and position holes in eight 2x4s last weekend, so I quickly assembled a fixture using scrap pieces of wood and the dovetail hardware to make a jig so we could clamp the 2x4s in the same place under our drill press to make repeatable, precise holes. It’s fantastic and honestly the sky is the limit with this system. There’s a really great inspiration online with people who have made creative jigs, fixtures, sleds and more.
The kit includes a Matchfit dovetail router bit, 2 dovetail clamps, dovetail hardware variety pack and the setup gauge. The router bit is very HIGH QUALITY. The dovetails are super clean thanks to the great design of the bit that rounds the sharp angles of the dovetail cuts so everything slides very smoothly. The clamps are incredibly well built in the USA and glide along the dovetail tracks flawlessly.
If you work with wood at all, you’ve got to get this kit. It saves time, allows me to be more accurate with challenging cuts and drilling, and safer with more secure fences, clamps and fixtures around our table tools. It’s a great system and I’ve already bought it for my father-in-law too.
The Micro Jig Matchfit Dovetail Clamp Pro is perfect for all your wood fabrication needs. To use this kit to its highest potential you need a router. You use the router to make a guide and the clamps slide into the channels you create at customizable angles. Its perfect to use when cutting items on a table saw that are large and require specific angles. Overall this kit is very useful and an ideal for any carpenter or DIYer.
This set while simple in concept provides an endless supply of idea for new jigs and clamping systems that can be used with a dovetail cut out. The set pieces are fairly pricey but made of quality material and provide great convenience over having to piece similar hardware together yourself. Both clamps work with the same dovetail system as well as other products by the same manufacturer. I would consider this set to be a great gift for any woodworker.

================
These are clamps — and is something that everyone who does work in the garage needs. They are adjustable so they can clamp down something extremely thin or something thick — and at the same time they are built very strong so they won’t buckle under pressure. This makes it easy to use and you can be confident when using it that they will help you get the job done.

Great product. Clamps are quite versatile even outside of the tracks
This set of clamps (MATCHFIT Dovetail Clamp Pro) helps take your woodworking to the next level, as it allows you to create your own custom jigs. It’s a comprehensive and quality set., with typical Micro Jig sturdiness and reliability. Although this clamp set comes with an instruction booklet, you might find it easier to log onto MicroJig’s website directly, where they have lots of great helpful information and even instructional videos. Micro Jig is a well-known woodworking brand, and we can see why here with this quality clamp set.
These versatile clamps look well made and include the router bit and guide to create your own gigs. They are easy to use, but you will need a router to use the bit and create the gigs. It also comes with a set of thumb screws designed to fit in the dove tail grooves you create, for versatility. It is a very nice set, and they feel very strong.
A great and versatile clamping system for woodworking. I’m even building some of the jigs I’ve seen online. Highly recommended.
These clamps, coupled with the included router bit allow for truly custom hold down/clamp areas on my work surface. I was able to lay out a pencil grid, temporarily clamp a bit of wood down as a guide and create dovetail channels that I can then slip the clamps into. Great for different glue ups you may come across, for for clamping a work piece down so you can cut/drill/chisel safely. Also good for clamping a flat panel down if you are into fine chisel detail work.
We are working on an outdoor project that these apparently are perfect for. My guy, the actual tool user, and I, the watcher of tools being used and general “helper”/”gofer”, are attempting to build rather simple yet rustic patio furniture. Nothing to fancy and these are a easy way to clap board together, for cutting, gluing etc. They have held up nicely. It’s winter here so the project is weather permitting (we have 1/2 of a chair done!) but it is going. These seem to be well made and work nicely. I didn’t see any instructions in the box but my guy said that most people somewhat know how to use these when they buy them. I will take his word for it. Overall, these are durable and pretty versatile. Well made and price point seem comparable to other kits this size.
We got this MATCHFIT Dovetail Clamp Pro mainly for woodworking, and it works well for our purposes. We’re only just now getting into woodworking seriously, but this set great for beginners like us, and provides enough variety for most of our basic needs. There’s a nice range in this set, and they’re fairly easy to use and very solid and durable. Everything about them is very well-constructed, and I don’t have any worries about their longevity thus far. Great quality set for basic woodworking – it gets two thumbs up from this household!
Worked great for clamping 1″ metal flat bars together to drill holes.
This set combines the awesome Micro Jig dovetail clamps with an assortment of the dovetail track hardware, a router bit and a setup gauge.
I’ve had a set of the dovetail clamps for a few years now and they have become one of my favorite things in my workshop. At first glance they don’t seem that different from other clamps but the thin profile of the head makes them useful in situations where other clamps are not. I have found many uses for them beyond woodworking such as making bearing and piston presses that fit in tight spaces when working on my bikes and car.
And you can watch the Matchfit promo video and see how useful they are for making all sorts of jigs, sleds, fences, etc. for woodworking. Yes, these clamps are pricey.. but in my experience they are worth it in terms of time and money saved since they make it super easy to create jigs to make repeatable accurate cuts in situations where I would have previously either wasted stock on sloppy cuts or spent way more time creating a jig.
Note that the clamps and hardware work with any 1/2″ dovetail router bit, so if you already have a router bit and don’t care about the depth gauge it probably makes more sense to buy the clamps and hardware kit separately to save a few bucks. But otherwise this set is a very nice starter kit that contains everything you need, also the perfect gift set for any woodworker.
My husband does a fair bit of woodworking each year and he is impressed with this kit. He says it’s easy to use, the router bit is included and it is well made.
Also the handles are comfy to grip. This is a solid kit and is solid.
The Matchfit Dovetail Clamp pro set won’t be for everyone. For example, if you use a mix of brands, it might not be right for you. But if you exclusively use Matchfit brand for your Dovetail Clamps, this is an indispensable and easy way to be able to route your own tracks for them. While I can use this on occasion thanks to a friend lending me a workspace, this is really better suited to advanced worksmen who build their own custom items. The ability to route and use custom tracks for your clamps can solve a myriad of problems when making something new.
This set comes with a setup gauge/guide to set the size, a custom router bit to make the tracks and they also include 2 clamps and some hardware to get you started.
I’ve used the Matchfit clamps before and they are great quality, the rest of this set has taken a bit of learning for me to be ready to use. One thing I fully recommend is the Matchfit website which has a ton of guides and things that will help you out here. It goes without saying that you’ll need a router for this router bit as well!
I’m pretty impressed with the clamp kit. Its perfect for finely detailed projects and larger projects. I like that the handles are on the softer side, its easy to get a good grip on them to tighten and loosen the clamps. The bottom of the clamps are flat so I’m not limited to always having to hang my projects at the end of the table. The router bit does a good job of helping to create the ideal work surface. Obviously, these clamps are not just limited to creating dovetails they’re extremely versatile. The kit as a whole is fantastic. There are lots of project ideas and plans on the website as well.
This set of clamps is sturdy and offers variety of options to be used. From DIY to professional shops, there is many ways this will work I got this for our personal use and my husband was thrilled to add to his tools. But most importantly, my father in law is construction professional and own a construction company, they build decks, patios and do a complete makeover of the houses, from bathrooms, cabinetry, roofing – big projects. I waited for him to stop by before submitting my review because I wanted his input on the overall quality. His comment was that it’s the great quality tool and appears to be durable but versatility is where it really shines. He also said Granpa would like a Christmas gift too.
My only complaint is that it comes with little to no instructions. I also conducted extensive research and the price seems to be above the average.
I love the stuff that Matchfit makes, and am all-in with the dovetail clamps.
I’ve only started using Micro jig products, but I am quickly becoming a fan. This is such a great kit that comes with everything, even down to a set up block for the router bit. That is worth alot for me right there. I can see many jigs and fixtures I can make with this set.
Surprisingly, this kit does not really come with instructions. One thing I really like about Microjig, how professional and detailed their instructions are. Well, it’s pretty simple and there is a quick start guide. plus a link to more information. Not really difficult to figure out. The pictures pretty much show it all.
I like the clamps and they are study so far. Sadly they don’t fit the dog holes on my assembly table, but that is because it is 1-1/4″ thick.
Some might say it’s pricey, and I agree it’s a little high, but you do get a good router bit, two clamps, knobs and the set up guide. Was also surprised the set up guide had magnets on it, nice tough.
I am very happy with this kit and will probably be buying another for more jigs.
I’ve taken several pieces of wood and made a few custom clamping surfaces for using with this clamping system. Everything I needed to do this, including the router bit, was included. This has already come in handy several times and I really enjoy using this system. One thing that I found out was that if I’m sanding or cutting something that is clamped, the routed grooves can become clogged with debris so I have to continuously brush or blow that out. But really, that’s not a big deal. I also like that I can use the clamp by itself as a regular low profile clamp. The clamps are well made and easy to use. Although this seems a bit pricey, it does include everything you need to get started so it’s a decent price for the “kit”.
This kit is quite impressive; really well designed and thought through. Perfect for woodworking. You can create your own jigs with these and reasonably easily! The handles are small but I have small hands so perfect for me, might be not so perfect for those with huge hands 😉
I can’t really tell where the components of this kit have been made, only one part seems to say Taiwan….
The kit is pretty pricey but it seems sturdy and really well made, and should last a while.
My father in law has upped his game after using these. They have a good build quality and are quire versatile. The rubber gripping is a nice touch. There’s a bit of a learning curve but don’t let that scare you away from giving them a go.
I’d say they’re priced quite fairly for what you get in the package and for the quality.
This is a specialized tool kit that’s well-built and will offer a sturdy clamp for a lifetime and beyond. Unique in its’ on way compare to traditional classic clamps. Comes with 2 clamps, multiple dovetail hardware, jigs to line the things in order and a router bit. Quality of the clamps justifies the price , sturdy and tight. The handles for the clamps are a bit on the smaller side, but it also have its benefits to make you manipulate objects easier. Good clamps, I recommend!
I have had a pair of MicroJig Matchfit Dovetail Clamps for about a year and have used them frequently in certain shop situations. I have been using them somewhat unconventionally, angling them into the dog holes on my indispensable 20 year old B&D Workmate 550 bench, often needing to clamp something in the middle of the B&D 550. These have really helped in that regard, since it is not always feasible to use my Erwin Quickclamps which can only be clamped, out on the edges of the bench, and often get in the way of where I might be freehand pencil line rip cutting with my jig saw, or trim routing, or sanding. In the dog holes, they are totally away from the edges where the Erwins would have to be. So I know they work great in mid surface situations.
So, when this kit showed up as a free offering in my Amazon Vine Queue, in exchange for an honest review, I jumped at the opportunity to receive this kit. And I can say, from a years worth of frequent use of the MicroJig clamps themselves, I found them to be very utilitarian, quick, and easy to use. Getting this kit prompted me to investigate the MicroJig system more thoroughly on their website and on Youtube, which I had not done before since I bought the clamps, off the shelf retail, based on a need that was met by their height of throat and ability to slip into the Workmate’s dog holes. I had no idea that this system could be such a great companion for woodworking jigs.
And although I don’t build cabinet grade fine furniture, my head has been filled with ideas on how I can be more efficient and effective in my DIY shop, which includes a 30 year old Delta (heavy steel) chop saw, a 30 year old Delta contractor’s table saw, a Kobalt sliding dual compound angle miter saw, a Wen 10″ Bandsaw, an AMT Industrial Drill Press, bench grinders, bench sanders and a myriad of handheld power tools.
I am really excited now to use this kit as intended by routing clamping channels into a larger work surface on my permanent work bench, in grid patterns of my choosing. I will also fabricate a sled or two for use on my tablesaw as well as to route clamping channels into the solid oak fence on my tablesaw.
Bottom line is that I can attest to the durability and utility of the clamps themselves, making this kit a very sensible acquisition for those who don’t mind spending what this kit costs.
The package is very good, comes with two dovetail clamps (which are on the smaller side with rubber handles) and a set of accessories that may or not be useful depending on the situation.
Over all a good package but certainly quite expensive Great gift for a handy men who does fine woodworking as a hobby.
I love these clamps! They’re made well, and they’re easy to use. The handles have a soft rubber which makes it nice to sinch down the clamp tight. The router bit seems to be pretty good compared to the one I had already. It comes with a nice guage to get everything lined up with is perfect for a wood working beginner! Dovetail clamps are incredibly versatile! It’s nice to be able to clamp wherever you need to on larger pieces instead of being limited to clamping on the edges! Micro Jig makes high quality tools, you won’t be disappointed!
While you can use the clamps for general purpose clamping use in a pinch, they really don’t shine until you do your homework and use them for their specific purpose. This kit is aimed for more of an experienced woodworker, not so much for novices that just want to buy tools and go as it’s more of a tool set for creating your own jigs and t-tracks to help with getting other things done more than actually creating any kind of finished pieces. I’m only a novice, your typical homeowner that has a router table and other woodworking tools that only infrequently gets used but I’m absolutely fascinated by the possibilities this dovetail clamp kit opens up. At the bare minimum, to get any kind of real utility out of this kit you’ll need a router… a router table would be recommended though I suppose you could get passable results on simple tracks going freehand with a guide of some sort set up but it would take forever by comparison to set it all up.
All of the components in this kit work together. The set up tool helps you adjust your router table to the exactly right height required to route out dovetail slots in your workpiece that will accept the bottom of the clamps which rides in the slots, as well as the pieces in the included hardware kit which allows you to join pieces together that can be secured down to or ride across the dovetail slots. The slots themselves are made exactly as needed with the included router bit. While I haven’t had time to try to complete any full project and make something truly useful I did route a couple of tracks in a piece of scrap 3/4″ plywood I had in the garage, it definitely is not the best plywood in the world to work with and they recommend using MDF for obvious reasons but it allowed me to get an idea about how it works and I was impressed. Even with middling quality plywood I got fairly clean tracks using the included bit.
At the core, everything is pretty self explanatory even for someone like me but actually putting it into use can be as simple as creating a simple router guide all the way to something as complicated as creating a whole workbench. Microjig provides a whole bunch of free plans for creating useful things with the Matchfit kit on their web site and I’ve already made it one of my life goals to create the “Ultimate Workbench” after looking through the plans.
Each of the components is well made, even the setup tool is extremely sturdy. Though I feel like the components are all of good quality and expect them to last forever if you typically look for tools that are made in the USA or Canada this does not appear to be one of those tools. The packaging doesn’t mention an origin of manufacturing and the clamps themselves don’t seem to have any markings on them either. The router bit says made in Taiwan. Given this, I think it’s safe to say that all of the contents are made in Asia which is kind of a shame considering how much it costs. Personally, while I would have preferred tools made here I think the quality speaks for itself regardless.
I think this kit might inspire me to do more with the tools I have, and I think that’s probably the best thing anybody can say about a tool.
This clamping system is unique and offers benefits over traditional clamping systems.
This package is a complete kit. You get two clamps, a MATCHFIT dovetail router bit, various dovetail hardware, and a jig to line things up.
The quality of the clamps is very good. The rubberized handles are on the small end but allow for easy manipulation and use. Once clamped, I don’t find that these losen on their own or wiggle.
The clamps are designed to fit inside of dovetail grooves, which you can cut yourself using the included router bit. The included hardware also fit inside the dovetails grooves.
Included is a 3-year warranty, but you have to register this product through the Microjig website, which is inconvenient.
Overall, this is a specialized tool kit that’s well-built and will offe
I am forever building jigs and sleighs for my table saw and router tables and this set was a welcome addition to my jig making collection. I like to build tables with tapered legs and built a jig for that. It clamps to my fence and requires a lot of setup and testing. I was able to create a sleigh to make my tapered legs quickly and a lot safer thanks to these. Mark out the location on the sleigh and clamp the bored down. They hold very well so I can focus on keeping my fingers away from the blade rather than making sure my leg didn’t slip away from the fence. The set is a little on the expensive side but so is reattaching a finger so I guess its all retaliative.
This a specialized ‘system’ requiring a considered review by an experienced cabinetmaker that I would have appreciated before buying
Problem: Having built “my ideal” cabinetry/furniture wood-work bench over 10 years and incorporating the Kreg universal clamp track system, 90% of my hardwood cabinet/furniture construction was solved.
Increasingly complex hardwood cabinetry demands increasingly complex clamping strategies. I need a more significant bench overlay to mount on the bench that incorporates flexible clamping strategies for size.
I’ve situationally drilled bench dog custom grids for typical everyday joinery fixturing but more larger and exotic joinery requires a bigger surface than the bench 3’5″ x 6′ bed.
Solution:
I searched for a basic z-axis strong expanded benchtop materiel solution. I chose a high $, hardwood, 4’x10′, 21mm thick, 17 layer plywood surface to quick mount securely atop my existing bench. The z-axis clamp pull strength in this plywood is only exceeded by an aluminum plate.
Expanding the use of the Kreg rail solution was possible but really expensive at Kreg prices.
The precision custom cut dovetail grid of your choice, and the use of the Matchfit Dovetail clamping system as my new ‘standard’ seemed to be the most cost-effective solution. With careful planning, experience, caution, precision routing fixturing and a steady router hand, it meets my expectations. If I need a more exacting grid in the future, routing more centers is easy.
The buyer has to decide if high end, high ply, plywood will withstand your applied clamp pressure. This is not an MDF routed solution IMHO as MDF is too fragile in the ‘z’ axis, and risks routed groove break out. Experience says ‘minimum but adequate’ pressure is the best solution to outstanding joinery results. MDF is right there on the edge.
I like the results so far. My next 3’x9′ complex cherry wood facia will be the test.
I’ll keep you posted.
I see positive and negative comments about these clamps all over the place, but for me, they really do work. They can be used in lots of different ways just by cutting a dovetail slot in a board. Vertical fence? Easy. I cut slots in the 2×4’s on the top of my sawhorses and now I can quickly clamp just about anything down instead of just holding things in place.
My only real criticism is the price, which I think is about twice as high as it should be.
