Beautiful, colourful and well made. Good price with attention to details, it van change the colour when put into water. It has nice clothes also nicely packed. My niece loves it so much, plays with it all the time. Good price for a good quality!

The doll is made by the same company that created Bratz dolls, so if your child or yourself, are a fan of these I am sure that will be a great addition to your collection.
Those mermaid dolls come in a very uniquely designed box, that all in all if you do plan to give the doll to someone as a gift, is in a good shape to be wrapped up.
The doll looks super beautiful and really cool at the same time with all the accessories that she comes with.
I really love her dark complexion, blue hair and the fashionista style
with perfume handbag, cool earrings, shiny tank top, fluffy coat and chain belt. The bottom of the tail moves back and forward but it’s a bit stuff so you have to be careful not to use it too much to avoid snapping, though it seems to be made pretty well so it shouldn’t be an easy thing to do.
The last but the best thing about this doll is the fact her tail colour changes when you pour water over it, so that is defiantly something that I have not seen before.
Overall I think it is a super cool doll to get for a gift or for yourself if you collect dolls, as she will decently look great in your collection.
I got her on sale and she was worth it! Came with a slightly wobbly head but other than that she is absolutely stunning. Details are amazing. Although you need ICE COLD water to change its colour not water from the tap. Would not pay full price of 37 myself as it is steep. Also the tail does not really work as functional stand unless balanced properly
This series of dolls come in beautifully designed boxes, which have a large V cut out of it with the bottom half of the tail sticking through into the gap created.
The boxes are approx 30.5cm x 30.5cm x 8.5cm & look designed for dolls to be kept & displayed in the box that way.
Each one of the Mermaidz is very pretty, although they all seem to have the exact same head mould, just with different skin tones, eye colour, make up & hair.
Shenelle is the stylist who gets front row seats to all the biggest fashion shows.

The outfit Shellenelle is wearing is very similar to the one she wears on the show, as is her colour change tail.
She comes with a short sleeved blue faux fur jacket, mesh sleeves (up to the elbow & separate from the jacket), a choker, heart shaped earrings, short pink top, waist collar & a plastic metal look belt plus a large perfume bottle shaped bag.
Of all the Mermaidz, I think Shellenelle has my least favourite tail.
The bottom of it is open & hollow, so doesn’t look good if you point it towards you.
From the waist down, like all of them, her tail is hard, rigid, textured plastic with the jointed tail fin meant to work as a stand when folded.
None of these dolls stand all that well on their tails, as they are not very stable & their long hair seems to pull them over.
For display she is best either in the box or on a doll stand.
Her head is jointed to move side to side with a little movement up & down so poses nicely.
Her eyes, like all the dolls in this series are stunning – inset with individually rooted eyelashes.
Her make up is the same as on the show.
Her upper body is jointed at the waist & also just under her bust.
Shellenelles hands can come off to change clothes more easily (all 5 dolls can clothes swap) & pop back on without trouble (they are slightly squishy feeling plastic), they can be rotated at the wrist quite freely to pose.
She is also jointed at the elbows & shoulders.
If dipped in cold water, it colour changes quite dramatically & looks great as it turns a gorgeous shade of blue.
Although the box art shows her hair going to approx knee length, all the dolls in the series I have got have hair almost down to where her ankles would be.
The bow made from her hair is heavy with styling products, but the rest of her hair feels quite soft.
You are advised to remove their clothing (they have painted on bra style tops which can get wet, a different one for each doll) before playing with them in water.
Her entire tail is hollow (water can get in where her fin is jointed) so you need to stand her upright on a towel to make sure she is drained properly after putting her in the water.
She has easy to pull out earrings which I wouldn’t say are suitable for smaller kids.
Taking them out of the box pretty much destroys the box so if you want to display in the box, you can’t take her out.
I would say they are better quality than Barbie level but the clothes are not quite as well made as Rainbow High doll clothes.
The web series etc.. seems aimed at a younger age group, but the price & the look of the dolls seems more like it’s aimed at the collector market.
I love the look of these dolls & have all 5 of them so far, but I will be looking in the future to see if they get their tails jointed around the knee area as it’s a shame they can’t sit or really pose their tails much at all.
I am not entirely sure who they are aimed at but I love them all.
Riveria is still my favourite though.
This is a very pretty doll. I rate her my second favourite, that is after Riviera, Jordie and Kishiko, simply because this doll was suppose to be the outstanding one but, somehow, was made to look less distinguishable. Very strange. Look at the prototype picture – she is the most gorgeous doll in the series (I have included prototype pictures with all dolls), and yet, the doll in the box looks very much like them all. She is definitely very and very pretty but they changed her face and made a clone rather than kept her personality, so to speak. It saves a penny to the seller and kills the joy of the person buying the doll (they will be forced to buy the doll anyway, won’t they?). Dear sellers and manufacturers, we care. Start doing so, too.
The body moves within the tail (a bit), under the chest – like Barbies that are made to move) and hands are softer and revomable, like Darak bodies or Neo Blythe. So I assume the sets of swappable hands, like for Bratz, are to follow. The doll is, roughly, the size of Barbie, with slightly larger heads. You can, possibly, balance the doll on the tail if she leans against something (rather wobbly). The earrings come off and will work for Barbies and Hearts 4 Hearts Girls, and Rainbows and LOLs (larger dolls).
When I first saw these dolls, I was impressed by the quality (not the accessories/clothes, though, those are awful), the faces are great, what is not great is that imminent tail that is there as they are mermaids, but then it stays there all the time, despite them being dolls, too. The tail needs to go.
The tail is made wisely, there are creases in the ‘skirts’ as if following the line of the legs. But 1) there should be the legs and the tail should have been removable. And since these dolls are so obviously aimed at grown-up collectors, 2) they should have proper legs and hand-painted eyebrows (+ the price), limited editions (save the planet from all this unnecessary plastic), and 3) make what you can of plasticin, non-toxic vinyl (ibid.).
SO, yes, an impressive new doll, these would kick even the Disney Designer Collection (and those retail at 77-110 and are limited edition, and look at their faulty feet, noticeable in Jasmine’s profile especially since she has a short hem and an open shoe).
For a child, there are far better investments – despite the inset (at least partly) eyes and real eyelashes, these dolls have no educational value and will be abandoned immediately, that is unless your child is really keen on dolls. This is not a Barbie rewind, where the doll is a woman, with flexing knees and looking more or less like a real person, where an older child can engage in a role play. These are claimed to be for 4+, and how much time will a 4-year-old spend sitting with a doll with a tail? A week at best?
For a child, get something that will last a few god years, will become of sentimental value and will not lose in the fiscal value either – get a 35 cm artist doll, Minouche by PetitCollin (retailing at 60 in sales) or a Zwergnase (better from their website directly, and that is if you have a spare 200 to invest in a doll). These will be definitely non-toxic and, if it has to be a ‘plastic’ doll, this will be the healthiest option. Or go for a Rubens Barn, these are widely available on Amazon and come in different sizes, and if it has to be a doll dabbed in fashion, go for a Haba one, these are outrageously beautiful ragdolls available for the same price as Mermaze and your child will be safe and will have a snugly dolly.
Colour changing mermaid
This is an absolutely stunning mermaid, the bright pastel blue hair stands out beautifully, this reaches all down her body. Her eyelashes come off her face, so you can feel them, these are gorgeous.
You get a removable waist chain, waist collar, bralet, shawl, sleeves and heart shaped earrings. You also get a ‘Shellnelle’ handbag too. The end of the tail moves realistically when you go back and forth in the water, which I thought looked good. It’s well made, durable. This is bigger than expected at roughly 36cm long.
The tail is where the colour change happens, this goes from a pretty light pink, to an icy blue colour. Initially I wasn’t too impressed but then I realised after I made the video, the colder the water, the better this works.
This is lots of fun to play around with and the girls loved it, which was expected. I do think it’s very good quality, it’s not a dainty little mermaid, it seems well made and strong, just what’s needed for the little ones. I would recommend it. Slightly more than I thought it would be that’s all.

This is a very modern mermaid. The design and details have basically blinged up Ariel. The main USP is the colour changing tail that is very effective in cold water and changes back again. Our four year old is carrying it everywhere and thinks every night is bath night now!

This Shellnelle Mermaze mermaid doll is so pretty! I like the soft and wavy periwinkle hair and dark complexion. She has this big bow on the head, styled and seems gelled, at the back of that bow is pony-tailed. It is just a shame that her scalp is quite visible. And, She has eyelashes on her upper lid only.
She has a big pink bow bikini top with a fur coat per her outfit and a chunky waist chain made from sturdy plastic. The only accessory she got was a little purse, like a perfume bottle with a pearl handle that matches the outfit.
Her arm goes 90 degrees, while her hand/wrist goes from left to right, and she can’t sit down and challenging to stand up. But what’s cool is her colour-changing mermaid tail feature. It turns blue from pink when you pour cold water on it.
I LOVE this doll!!! She is absolutely beautiful! My only real complaint, and I’m sure most people who have this doll will agree with me, is that she only has a tail and no legs, as opposed to other mermaid dolls that have a removable fabric tail with legs underneath! And because of that, it’s very difficult to get her to sit! Other than that, I love this doll, and think she’s stunning! Her hair is nice and silky! Her face is gorgeous, complete with inset eyes and rooted eyelashes! I love her outfit, especially her beautiful jacket! Her little perfume bottle purse is adorable! I think this doll would be a great gift for children and adult collectors alike! I would highly recommend her!
This mermaid makes a great gift for kids birthday parties. Can’t really speak to the durability since my daughter gave it as a gift to one of her friends. The little girl who received it was amazed by it and wanted to play immediately so there’s that. For the price this is a good thing to give for any reason.
It’s probably not a new concept but it can make playtime more fun, especially in the tub.

These are really pretty dolls, but they really are good for the bath. They are hard to play with because the color changing works best with water with ice in it, but usually don’t have ice water in the bath, so make sure you get some ready. We have mermaid barbies in the bath so this a nice addition to her mermaid doll collection. I don’t see playing with this outside of the bath because its doesn’t really stand and hard to play with other dolls sit it can’t really sit.
I love this doll so much, hair is very dense and beautiful, i didn’t like the bow in her hair so i took it off as well as the jacket. The tail is made out of thin plastic so keep that in mind but overall it’s a great doll.
It’s a definitely giftable toy. Glamorous and cute.
They are retail for $31.99 in target which is a little pricy. But this one seem to be more durable than others with paints on their tails. I like this one a lot. It’s a perfect birthday gift for a little girl.

Into Barbie’s but wanting something more glam
Mermaze’s Shellnelle doll comes in a very attractive packaging. It makes a lovely gift presentation, but there are so many plastic clips holding her hair in place that is frustrating to remove her from the packaging.
Once she’s out, she’s impressive. Her hair is voluminous, soft, and colorful. Her eyes are detailed and glass-like with soft eyelashes. The mermaid tail is large and eye catching and she can stand up on her folded mermaid tail if you position her weighty hair in front of her torso. The clothes and accessories are well made.
The color changing aspect of the tail works fine, but is a bit gimmicky.
All in all… a fine doll.
The doll is very cute. Her face is pretty with inset eyes and eyelashes. Her gaze is intense. The outfit is nice. She can stand on her fin, but it is tricky. She is kind of poseable, but the range of motion is not great. She cannot sit, only bend slightly forward and backward. Her hands are very pretty.
The hair is not as pretty as on the picture, sadly. it looks shiny cheap and was fuzzy even before we tried to free the doll from the box. The bow on top is crooked and looks awful. I think it would be better to see what you are buying in person
The doll is attached to the box with totally excessive amount of plastic ties. Make sure you have kitchen scissors and a knife to get the doll out of the packaging. The cherry on top is paper twine they tied the doll to the box. Lately, the use of the twine was a sign of the company getting away from using so much plastic in packaging, and it is a great sign. But only if you actually do it for this purpose. Here, I really cannot understand the logic. The twine goes inside the doll’s tail and comes out on both sides of the body. However hard I tried, I cannot figure out how to remove it. I am not sure what will happen if I cut it off – will it get stuck somewhere and impede the doll’s articulation even more? Does it have any actual function aside from showing how environmentally conscious the manufacturer is, despite all the plastic they used in packaging?
