I use these in a couple of places around the house, they were easy to setup and use with HomeKit and have worked flawlessly
Easy and quick to install once you find out that it’s compatible with apple home hub. You don’t need a home hub as you can pair it with Apple TV.
It works well on the apple home app but it does get confused about sunrise/set timings. Still not sure what that’s supposed to be so I use actual timings instead. Otherwise it’s all good and makes my life easier!
Value for money
Definitely easy to use and looks the pa
Exactly as described. Easy to set up, works great with our Alexa hub
Value for money but the instructions not that clear. When I realised I was supposed to jump between the Alexa app & the plug app to set the plug upit was easy.
I really like these smart sockets makes life a lot easier working with Alexa.
I wish i got these years ago with Alexa two.
With the cost of electric going up, I am very conscientious about turning everything off at the wall. This plug allows that without me having to bend or stoop.
Does what it’s meant to do – I use it on a standard lamp at present. I had limited mobility for about 3 weeks and this prove very useful not having to stretch over to turn off the light.
I had a wall light that came with no mechanical on/off switch. Worse, the trailing socket that was fixed in place that it connected to, didn’t either. So to operate the light, I had to physically disconnect and reconnect the mains plug itself – which was far from ideal.
I purchased this meross device on the combination of it being relatively inexpensive and that it supported Apple’s HomeKit.
Once it arrived – I tried to do the usual wi-fi connection-to-device routine of using the router’s WPS function. That didn’t appear to work. I then read in the manual that this device specifically operates on the 2.4Ghz frequency and not 5Ghz. So, I temporarily disabled the 5Ghz channel and tried again – still no luck.
The above was attempted using the ‘Add device’ option with in the Home app on the iPhone itself. Each attempt, saw it time-out with no success by scanning the QR code on the side of the smart plug.
Ensuring that Bluetooth was switch on my iPhone – I did the following in order to get it to work…
Opened up the Home app.
Clicked on the small ‘+’ in the top right corner.
Clicked on the first option – Add Accessory
Ignored the ‘Scan a Setup Code’ and ‘Hold iPhone Near Accessory’ options and instead, clicked on the orange option that says ‘More options…’
Stood near the smart plug with Bluetooth enabled on the phone, the meross device appeared there.
You then have the option to type in the device number – printed on the side of the smart plug itself above the QR code. It should be an 8-digit number.
It then goes through the syncing process and asks you to give the smart plug a name to recognise it in the Home app.
The above worked fine for me – which personally I found to be a LOT more secure than using meross’s own app that requires a login to be created, access to your Bluetooth on your phone and network discovery of devices in your home. Thanks, but no thanks!
A good device that I’d have no issue in buying additional units of – should the need arise.
I hate that a smart appliance can be smarter than us and installing this took a while but I got there in the end. I wanted to use Alexa and this meant adding the device to three apps to get it to work. For the first half hour I had it working only through the iPhone home app not even its own brand’s app but after some persistent I had it set up and it works without fault. I use it to get to a hard to reach switch. Now I just ask Alexa to turn it on and off. No more stretching.
Shame it’s slightly over sized for a strip socket…just about fits next to other plugs
Have many of these throughout the house. Easy to setup and work great so fa
Was included in a deal I bought for two 4th gen Dots. Does as you’d expect without any connectivity issues.
Works with HomeKit once you find the 8 digit code. It’s on the plug itself, not the oackaging.
Absolutely no issues setting this up. Plugged in, scanned QR code into HomeKit and there it was.
Using this in a waterproof outdoor box alongside a much more expensive Eve plug. The eve will be replaced by another of these as the wifi range is much better.
Really pleased with it so far, and great value for money.
Bought a pack of two and had these just short of a month, and find them great for turning your appliances on & off, especially if the socket isn’t easy to get at. I’m only using for low wattage appliances, not sure if they’re suitable for high power gobbling appliances. I chose this brand as they’re compatible with Apple’s HomeKit (so you can use Siri), and the setting up with both the Meross app and HomeKit app is simple and quick.
They look and feel well made, and found them to work perfectly so far, but not really used the remote access away from home. If you want to use HomeKit you have to set up your iPad as a home hub and leave it at home and plugged in, so think I’ll be using the Meross app if I want a remote connection.
It’s useful there is a light on the plug so you can see at a glance whether it’s on or off without having to open the app, and it can be turned on or off using the switch on the plug rather than the app if you’re close by.
My only niggle is the size. They’re a bit wider than the standard UK plug, and so long as you have a single socket or double one/extension where the next socket isn’t being used, that’s fine. I have since purchased a pack of two of the Mini Meross Smart Plugs, which are the same width as the standard UK plug, and as with the larger model have an indicator light and switch, and do prefer these of the two models. Just for the large size, they lose a star for me, but do like them.
Bought primarily because it works with Siri aka apple home app also alexa costs a bit more than the others but worth i
Used this as part of a group to time my Christmas lights, perfect.
Easy to install with HomeKit. Used to schedule Christmas lights using automation.
I needed smart plug compatible with HomeKit and this looked good, especially when it was on a Black Friday deals.
Installation is simple and everyone will do it right, every automation which I set works well and that’s how should be done.
I didn’t check Alexa with it becayse I’m using an iPad to control my smart home devices.
The plugs need a dedicated IP otherwise they keep showing up as unresponsive which is extremely frustrating. Once I set this up on my router they work flawlessly. I use them for turning 1.5kw heaters on and off depending on the temperature. Don’t know why they say they can take 3kw and then say to not use with power hungry appliances. Suitably ignored and working like a dream.
Easy set up, works perfectly with Apple Homekit. All good.
Easy to set up and use when using Apple Home Kit, without having to add the Meross app.
This is very useful feature when there are multiple smart devices from multiple suppliers, and everything is done using Home Kit.
Using this on some outside lights (plug is covered) and works great with HomeKit so they only come on at sunse
just super easy to set up with both apple and android
Very good product works well slightly annoying place for the sticker that you used to Pair Bit Bigger The
Dead easy to install, had it working in less then 5 mins. Works really well with Apple HomeKit. Now I can put the kettle on from my home office and it has boiled by the time I get to the kitchen.
Excellent HomeKit compatible product. Easy set up with the QR code in the home app. Meross also has its own app which is limited but good for updates. No connection issues and works perfect in automations.
Easy to set up in HomeKit, even easier in the Meross App afterwards as per instructions, excellent feel to product, simple to use, would recommend.
This is a very affordable plug which does just what it says.
I had no problem linking this up to Alexa / Homekit and has fit in well with all of my scenes and automation’s.
If i had one “negative” thing to say, it would be that if at all possible it would be good if it was slightly thinner. However that’s me just being picky and the size has no way impacted the use of this product.
Planning to look into what other devices they have to offer.
Bought to be able to control the Christmas lights on and off. Worked a treat with Apple HomeKit automation. Ended up buying two more for the kettle and other things. Just hope the other half remembers to fill the kettle every night now.
It’s a very good value and easy to set up. HomeKit makes it easy to integrate…..
Hey Siri switch off the slow cooker….!
This is the first smart plug I’ve bought but I’ve since bought more. I’m interested in technology products like this and I hope this review will help others that are unsure or are less passionate about these kinds of products
I think this product is near perfect, it does exactly what I hoped it would. I can use my Google assistant to turn it on and off and I have linked it to Samsung smart things and have been able to establish a routine. I’ve set it so it switches on and off depending on some conditions – you can’t do this with Google, with Google you always must trigger it with a voice command and you cannot tell Google assistant to trigger the action at a certain time. I don’t use an Alexa, so I’ve not tried setting up a skill on that or used voice commands to switch it on/ off or set a routine.
You plug this in, scan the QR code, set up an account, link it to Google/ Samsung (and I assume Alexa) and set up is done. Very easy and exactly what I hoped for.
It’s pretty chunky, so you may not be able to use a neighbouring socket. That would really depend on the plugs, normal plugs fit fine but larger ones will probably struggle. That’s why I gave it 4 stars, which might be harsh but if you think about it you couldn’t use two of these next to each other in a normal wall socket. I note that Meross do smart socket strips, which I might try as I expand the collection, but ofc a strip is not always very convenient.
In the pictures you’ll see the Meross plug on the left and a tp-link one on the right. I blacked out the QR code. You can see there’s clearly room for a normal sized plug between vthen but not for two of these kinds of plugs together.
it took a reset of the plug for my iPhone to add it as a accessory (hence 1 star off) . otherwise perfect and great value for money compared to Philips hue .
Works well as HomeKit plug in my shed about 10m from router.
Great plug. By using Meross app you can set routines and having your device switched on and off as you please. Works great with Apple Home. The only advice: reset it before trying to connect to your device as it might give you headaches if you don’t. Also, install Meross app first and setup through it. I’ll get another one very soon. And it needs the Wi-Fi to work. There’s no Bluetooth connection whatsoever.
Had to disable 5ghz WiFi to connect but after that it works fine. Compatible with Apple HomeKit so I’m happy.
The plug itself is great, responsive, even makes a nice reassuring click noise when you turn it off. No delay from HomePod or phone and general great product for such a low price. Set up was annoying. Time consuming and requires patience. Persevere because it works great once it is connected.
Now works perfectly to control outside lights as a rare example of a HomeKit smart plug. Had some trouble with it taking to my wifi network at first. Then for other reasons I needed to restart and reconfigure the network. Since then, for three weeks, it has worked flawlessly. Will be buying more for additional Homekit automation.
Absolutely brilliant product connected very easily to HomeKit as advertised unlike previous purchase 100% recommend
Bought this when on offer. Cannot fault the performance especially with HomeKit and would buy this in preference to Zigbee versions in future
Easy to install product, have a number of these now integrated into my HomeKit. As you don’t need any additional hub to do this is was an easy process of setting up and works effortlessly.
Perfect. Linked to HomeKit 1st time and now all our lights are automatic
I now have six of these around the house and they work really well with Alexa Dots and Sonos Alexa activated speakers. Easy to set up and have worked every time without any glitches so far.
These work really well with Alexa routines in the Alexa app on your phone.
Works great, though had to download their app as couldn’t get it to talk with Apple
Easy to install, my phone already had the app. Need WiFi for connection to work. Handy to have!
Wow this plug is BIG. I’m sure the electronics could be made more compact. Anyway it works as it should but I doubt I’ll be getting any more of these plugs.
This is the 3rd smart plug I’ve ordered to try and make work. I’m not hugely technical, but I suspected the other 2 failed because I couldn’t make them connect to the 2.4Ghz network.
This one carries the same caution – connect to 2.4 to make it work etc. Nonetheless, Amazon delivered it 6 minutes ago. I plugged it in, scanned the code into the Apple Home app, and boom – all done. Worked immediately.
Spent the next 2 minutes adding a program to automatically turn it on and off in evenings.
And then a few minutes to write this! Didn’t need to mess with my WiFi at all, it just worked. Love it!
Having issues with a tv falling off my network and unable to be controlled remotely. Since turning this plug on and off does the same to the tv. It solved my issue. Perfect. If a bit big for what it is
Works really well, integrated into the apple hone really easily. Would buy agai
Easy to set up and works fine with Alexa. Also works well with thair own app
Really easy to set up with my Alexa. My Christmas tree lights are working perfectly.
Useful plug. I wanted it for a corner where I couldn’t get to easily to turn a plug on and off. Easy to set up. Worked well on my iPhone.
This works exactly how they say. It was simple and fast to set up and just works
Am very happy with this product so far and will likely buy many more at this rate. New to the smart home game but this works absolutely seemlessly with HomeKit. Couldn’t be more impressed. Initially purchased for my Christmas lights so I could switch them on remotely, have set up to come on at sunset and off at midnight. Like knowing no matter where I am I can switch the plug off or on. Will be using one for my winter heater as don’t have central heating so can turn it on as I leave work to warm the place up in time for getting home.
Works really well once set up – both Homekit and Amazon Alexa!
Item arrived this afternoon, and was really simple to set up. Unfortunately it only has a one year warranty, which is strange because my mums cups plug adapter is still working after 50 years
Great item quick and easy to install and great price
Works as advertised… make sure your device is connected to a 2.4 Wifi network before trying to pair the smart plug. You can add it on the Home app first and then bind the plug with the Meross app. With the Meross app, you can also update the firmware of the product so it might be useful to download the app too, but if you wish you could just control the plug with Homekit.
For the price, compared to other Homekit enabled smart plugs I think this is a no brainer. Will definitely purchase more.
I was tempted with the idea of making my home a bit smart and thought I would dip my toe in the water with the Meross Smart Plug which is Homekit compatible and works with my Apple gear. Installation was a doodle just scanning the QR code on the plug with my iPhone and I was away. It works faultlessly and switches almost instantly while at home. I was so impressed that I have just bought 3 more and have now sent up my old iPad as a home hub and this gives me control while away from home and lets me set up a schedule. I feel sure these won’t be my last Meross Smart devices.
Bought this to use with Siri and HomeKit, so easy to set with Apple’s HomeKit. Great value. Will be getting more.
Works as described. Easy to set up via HomeKit. No issues
Really nice smart plug easy to install, just a little bit too big, can’t used other plugs. Can’t used both Alexa and Siri togethe
Good all-round plug works well with both Meross and home app for Apple devices, Read the Instruction booklet that’s in the box or you will struggle, also check that your plug has not been used like mine was as the plug had scratches all over the face off the plug Obviously been used and then sent back and then sent back ou
Easy to set up, simple to use and works with HomeKit! Those were my criteria and this product matched! Sometimes it loses connection, but let’s be honest, what doesn’t these days, with everything connected to everything! It has only happened once, and after unplugging it worked straight away
Genuinely fantastic product. Worked perfectly with HomeKit, will be purchasing more. Better than my 50 one from another provider.
Need to use WIFI on 2.4GHz not 5GHz expected for HomeKit stuff but catches some people ou
Needed to replace some ageing Wemo plugs and found these. Don’t know why they as so much cheaper than the rest as they are great. Really quick and responsive and finally I can fit 2 next to each other in a double socket.
I found this very easy to setup and use, which is also linked to my Amazon Alexa account. I’ve used it for my garden lights but I am now using it to power on/off other devices in the house Via an extension lead so that they switch off completely and not stay in standby. It’s possible to add schedules etc if needed. The plug is a lot smaller than most other plugs which is an added bonus. It does not cover/foul the socket on/off switch
Fantastic product. Setup with my Homekit app really quick and the response time to commands is faster than the more expensive Eve plug.
This product is simple and as easy as plug-and-play. Simply plug it in and scan the QR code, follow the steps in Apple Home App, and its done. Great way to start your smart home.
Model MSS310. Attractive. Not HUGE… an ordinary plug can go next to one… but two side by side… not in an ordinary strip. Would the Wifi signals conflict, anyway?
Collects electricity usage stats, viewable via the app.
Only works on 2.4MHz Wifi.
Good LEDs. A manual “on/off” switch.
Great price! I was prepared for cheap to be merely cheerful, but found that the whole product, hardware and software, stands up well in comparison to more expensive plugs. (At least on initial acquaintance.)
Setup REQUIRES a tablet, etc, running the Meross app. Not possible from mere Windows + a browser, as far as I am aware.
(The Android app, 25 Aug 20, came up on Google Play Store as “Meross”, from “from Chengdu Meross Tech.)
“Do it once” (unless you reset the device by holding the button down until LED turns to a solid amber… about 5 seconds)…
Start app.
You must… of course!… establish an account with Meross. They only ask for a user name and email address… and don’t even take steps to ensure it is YOUR eddress… but you will be stuck if you need to go to your account for some reason.
Start “set up new” process.
Plug Smartplug in 2.4GHz Wifi only. Plug near router suggested.
Wait for Amber/Green, click next (or text if it is NOT doing what it should 🙁 )
Wait. App will let you know when all well.
App confirmed success. LED on plug was green.
Can system be used when LAN is up, but WAN is down??

MAC given on a label on the Smartplug.
eSet Internet security’s “Tools/ Connected home monitor” sees the device as “Network device”, “Unknown” (type), “Meross Smart Plug” (name) from Chengdu Meross Technology” “Unknown device” (category). (If you don’t know the Connected Home Monitor”, it is a great feature of the eSet suite. The type and name assigned by eSet to the device’s MAC can be edited for your future convenience.

I //think// the plug will remember the state it was in across a power failure… but hasty tests turned up one inconclusive result. (It was ON when I started to unplug it. It came up OFF when plugged in again… but I may have accidentally turned it OFF during unplugging.)
================================
Usage…
The basic Meross app works fine. You get a display with your devices shown. I only have plugs so far. If the device is currently online, there’s a small “spot” of color to say that. Touch the icon for a given plug to turn it on or off. You can change the name shown
You can put your devices in to “scenes”, and thus, for instance, turn all of the sitting room lights on or off with one “button”.
You can create “routines”. For the plugs, you can cause a device, or group of devices (“scenes”) to go on/ off on a schedule. The “on” time can be a time, or “sunrise” or “sunset”. It can then be set… or not, as you like, to turn off automatically after x minutes. In a routine, the precise wording is “Whenever my (named plug) is on… turn off after (x) minutes)”, AND there’s a “… and repeat every 0-7 day(s) of the week.” (or not) option.
Very nicely done… if it works! I suspect this is one area where always-on WAN services are necessary.
The wording seems to say that the plug will be turned off after the specified time, regardless of how cam to be on, but I am probably being pedantic. You only reach that question after specifying an “on” time”.
====================
Alexa-
It was a very simple matter to enable Alexa to turn the plugs on or off with. I have two plugs, and have named them MeRossOne and MeRossTwo. I just say “Alexa, turn MeRossOne on” (or off), and it happens.
Inevitably, I suppose, I had to tell Alexa my Meross creds.
I enabled on my PC, using https://alexa.amazon.co.uk/ I added the “Meross” skill.
I look forward to exploring the IfTTT integration. On evidence so far, that will be a polished product, too.
Quiet bulky for a plug switch. However, easy to install and set up with Alexa.
Works great, and looks a lot better than expected. From previous pictures I thought it was massive, true it’s bigger than most plugs, but if on a wide extension lead with abit extra width allowance per plug, then works great. I have got it working with Alexa and Siri!
This little known company is one to try.
Great little switch and works lovely with Apple HomeKit as well as the others. But I got it for Apple and Google, works great.
Just bought a another 2 of these to expand to other rooms.
Probably the easiest smart plug set up ever.
1) Open HomeKit on an iPhone
2) Scan QR Code
3) Job Done!!!!!
Amazing piece of kit.
Highly recommended
I own a few smart plugs and by far this was the easiest one I have ever set up. So easy it was up and running in no time. Good usual features for timers etc.. I have set this o e up to control our garden lights to come on at sunset and off at a set time. Great device, thoroughly recommended.
This is an excellent smart plug , easy to set up with no issues with connectivity, i also have two meross smart switches that are flawless. Recommend
The meross homekit plug although not the slimmest (it’s also not massive like my old wemo plugs) works flawlessly with homekit, I’ve not had a single issue with it being unresponsive, i was that impressed by the price and the reliability i ordered 3 more, physical on/off button is nice and clicky and works as it should, i didn’t need to install the meross app which is a bonus, I just added straight to homekit, highly recommend
This plug is for a socket that is hard to reach, so bought it, so the socket can be controlled. Out the box and set up in seconds on my iPhone and now I don’t have to spend 5 minutes kneeling, bending and stretching to reach the socket to turn it off. Yes I had to move everything to fit it and now fitted works like a treat from my smart phone.
I’ve been using this Smart Plug for a few weeks now and it’s fantastic. The build quality is very sturdy and well built. Setting up is a breeze as you just simply open the Apple HomeKit App and scan the bar-code on the side of the product. If you want to use the Meross App (like me) you can add the Smart Plug with just 1 click after it’s added into HomeKit. One of the main reasons why I like Meross so much is because of their App. They bring out regular updates and Firmware so you know they take customer feedback very seriously. I recommend this Plug and all their other products to anyone.
big value for money. I bought a HomeKit socket before around 50 pound. This smart socket perfect running on Apple HomeKit system. Can control on your phone or use Siri.I hope it is helpful.
Had a faulty plug initially but replaced by seller and this works a treat with my kitchen lights.
A slightly larger plug but good build overall.
Thanks agai
Setting up on HomeKit was easy.
After a bit of perseverance have got it working with both Siri and Alexa (Alexa initially insisting device was unresponsive)
Excellent option if you want to cover both Apple and Amazon devices
I have had Meross products for the past year when I was looking at alternatives to apples over priced echo system. I then bought this one as it now works with apples HomeKit which is brilliant and what I was looking for all along. That said, after using the Meross app (as the earlier models didn’t work with Apples HomeKit) even though I have the option to use HomeKit I have found myself going back to the Meross app. It works very well, is very easy to setup and let’s you apply shortcuts to your widgets screen on the iPhone. HomeKit worked very well with the now compatible version of Meross plugs but to be honest, I found Apple just didn’t pull me in with their UI for this.
This is brilliant value for money and honestly can’t see why you would pay Apple for their version. Thumbs up
I have been smarting my home up for a while now and have quite a few Meross devices dotted around. They are alway quick and easy to set up and very reliable
Updated review due to original problem being caused by my internet provider having connection issues.
Great plugs that for the moment seem to work fine. Have them connected to a UVC water filter so can turn off while away and others connected to fans.
Great integration with HomeKit and pressing on the icon when renaming gives you the option to change icon to UK socket or Fan etc.
This is my 4th Meross smart plug now. I’m really impressed by the reliability and build quality. Pairs perfectly automatically with Alexa. I use it with Alexa to make sure everything is switched off at night, my family often leave the TV, sky box, laptops, monitors, lamps on. I’ve set up a simple routine with Alexa to switch everything off even if I forget. Like this, these switches pay for themselves in no time. This one didn’t pair with my home wifi so easily as the other Meross smart plugs but 20 seconds on the troubleshoot option fixed it fine – probably my wifi set up as I have two networks in the house.
I bought this so that I could turn my 3D printer off remotely so that I can leave it running while I’m out and be able to turn it off if it goes wrong.
It works very well with Alexa on my Fitbit and Siri on my phone (admittedly Alexa is quicker).
I’m very happy with the product it turns on and off almost instantaneously.
2 bonus features are it’s WiFi extending and ability to monitor energy usage improving home connection and allowing me to see how much electricity the printer is using which is helpful.
It fits along size most plugs and some on extension leads however the size of it is a little off putting but I with what it packs in side I’m not surprised by the size.
Overall very happy with this.
Got a number of these plugs now, this one caught my eye as it has homekit support too which give it a lot more flexibility. 2 minute setup was a doddle and working really well. Probably the best plug I’ve got at the mome
– Overview –
I have been using Meross now for just over a year and I have to say I am mightily impressed with them. A wifi smart plug is much better than one that relies on a hub. I have 11 plugs and 5 cables dotted around my house and it is great to be able to turn them off within their app wherever I am.
Meross’ move to using Homekit is a gamechanger in my eyes. It makes this plug a standout product for people with a Homekit ecosystem. The extension cable isn’t available with Homekit (yet?) but the plug sockets now are! Here is my review of the plug.
– Purchase & Delivery –
Rest assured that even though this product is from a third-party seller, it is fulfilled by Amazon and swiftly arrives. The price of the Homekit plug is great, especially with the offers and coupons that are often available.
– Appearance –
I think the Meross plug is quite nice looking compare to other which seem to hang off a plug. It is small enough to easily allow two to be in a double socket and any appliance plug can fit with ease. The finish has changed over the last year from a shiny plastic look to a much better matte finish.
– Setup –
Setting up was always easy with the Meross app but now you can avoid that altogether if you’d like and just use the Homekit app itself. You can always add it to the Meross app later (which I would recommend for firmware updates). Meross do warn you that if you have any issues connecting, to switch your home wifi to 2.4GHz while you install.
– Use –
I have used Meross plugs over the last year and can say I have had zero issues with the product. Switching things off while your at work if you forgot is so helpful. I never worry about leaving the iron on anymore! With this Homekit device I can say that I still have had zero issues. It is so much easier having everything under one roof and response times are fantastic. I haven’t even started to talk about its safety features, which you can read up in the product listing.
– Conclusion –
Making my house as smart as possible, I have to say that I have not found a better product. Meross seem to have spotted a hole in the market and jumped in. I have now ordered 10 more Homekit plugs to replace my old ones and I hope Meross brings more Homekit compatibility to its products. (If you are reading this Meross – please can we have a smart 2 gang light switch released (Homekit compatible of course 😉 )
I was on the look out for a small format Apple HomeKit plug and this fit the bill perfectly. I have it set up in a waterproof box in the garden to control my decking lights from my phone and have automation set up so now I don’t even need to think about it etc. It responds to Siri and other voice products but I was mostly focused on Apple! It is a really a good size for UK plugs but unfortunately these types of products by their very nature are thick and stand out quite a bit from a socket (hence the 4/5 stars). Highly recommend!
Its a great value for money money product. I have also a light switch and they are both working great fast and efficient. The fact that you can even access the meross app to check the devices from outside your home wifi is just perfect if you have forgotten something turned on or you want to turn it on so you have it ready when you get home. It work great with Google Home as I have everything organized with routines and timers that are working on time. I highly recommend they products.
If you’re looking for an affordable, no nonsense HomeKit compatible UK plug, this is the one for you. It has a low profile look with its slim look – I have it in our kitchen to power our kettle and it works perfectly. Set up takes 2 minutes and the attached instructions make the process super easy. So easy to recommend this for the price.
5*
The plug is great very easy to setup and not as bulky as other brands.
Plus is very responsive and can turn it off and on from anywhere.
Minor dislike is the timezone format in the app but only need to use it once.
Easy to set up with the Apple Home app and works very well. Works much better than the only only other HomeKit plug available which is twice the price – but the other one does have energy monitoring which this one doesn’t so that’s probably accounts for the price difference.
This is by far the best smart plug I have used and I have used a lot of them. Super easy to setup, displays power usage and works exceptionally well. This is the plug you want, forget the rest of them.
Already got 2 meross smart plugs that I run through Alexa. This is a great addition to include support for Homekit. Really easy to set up and integrate into my house smart set up, took only a matter of minutes and I was able to set up my schedule and voice commands. All works perfectly and it’s nice and small, not interfering withe the adjacent plug socket like some can. Really impressed with Meross ecosystem, got 3 smart plugs, 4 smart bulbs and an outdoor multi socket. All work reliably and set up exactly as I want it to be.
Easy to set-up and extremely quick to respond to commands. Works perfectly with HomeKit, Siri and Shortcuts.
I have been using Meross Smart Products for the last six months, and the twin pack smart plug for the last week.
Meross provides a number of “smart devise for the home such as
* plugs
* light bulbs
* light switches
* Garage door openers
* Multi socket gang surge protector plugs
The Plug
The Plugs are well made in a white matt plastic and a feather touch button. I would point out that the plug is larger than traditional “dumb” plugs and may cause an issue if you are trying to plug several smart plugs into a 4 way gang socket for instance. The Meross plugs are no bigger than other smart plugs
Initial set up
The initial setup is straight forward plug the device connect your phone to the wireless network , click add new device it will scan and add the give it a name it couldn’t be easier , don’t forget to check if there is a firmware update which can also be run through the app
Smartphone App
The Meross application is available to free download from either the Android or Apple store. Simply install the app create a free Meross account.
The interface of the app is clean and uncluttered, separating the list of devices, scenes, routines and settings into different tabs
Devices — show a list of devices gives ability to turn on or off or rename each devices
Scenes — show a list of all “scenes”. Scenes are a method of grouping ta collection of similar device and set them to a particular state eg all lights on erm will turn all lights on
Routines — shows all configured routines. Ability to create, configure or toggle on/off any routine. Routines give the ability to turn a device or scene on/off at a particular time, for a particular amount or time or a handy feature at sunrise or sunset.
Alexa
The Meross smart device can be connected and operated through Alexa and Google Home. I configured mine for Alexa and it gave the ability to control individual devices or scenes (groups of devices) by voice.
Customer Services
There is no point having great products is customer services is awful this is not the case with Meross. I contact Meross customer services twice once for a technical issue and once to provide feedback for a new features I think should be added to the application. In both cases Meross were helpful and responded promptly.
Conclusion
Meross smart products are good value and well-built good easy to set up and use. The smartphone app is a great way to manage all your smart devise in one interface .
If you are fed up of having to have numerous different apps on your phone to use your smart devices bought from different vendors why not try the Meross range of smart devices
