Not impressed with the delivery. Left in full view of people walking past at the front door. I live on a main street.
The product itself is good. Good quality.
I have had many ‘smart’ plugs, and used them with varying success. One of the big problems is that the plugs use generic apps. which can be hit and miss. Step forward Meross. The cost was favourable, they feel substantial, and importantly, very simple to set up and connect to Alexa. I’m very impressed and would highly recommend
Apple home plug:
Connected to sky router easily. Easy to setup on/off schedules, seems to be no limit on how many you can set but I’ve not tried more than 3 so far. Feels and looks well made. I don’t use it with Apple home, I use it with google home, no issues.
Non Apple home:
I bought 2 power monitor non-Apple home plugs and they work just as well as the above. I control them via the Meross app or Alexa or google home.
I purchased this to monitor some computer equipment & alter power settings accordingly while also seeing how my new hardware compared to the old.
The energy readings are as clear as real time as you could expect short of some professional equipment, I can clearly see power changes as CPU/GPUs ramp up under load.
And the /kwh etc is quite eye opening, little things you just use in day to day life that you assume cost nothing actually over time soon add up!
The Meeross app is always a winner, this is far from my first product and infact have become one of my preferred brands at this point and infact is more reliable & well built than some more premium (whatever brands come to mind reading that, ive probably tried them) smart products I’ve purchased in the past, never fails and always works remotely whether I’m on local WiFi or away from home.
I’ve also installed the meross app and hardware in multiple houses, multiple WiFi networks, multiple phones/tablets and never had any issues.
These smart plug sockets work really well, are well made and simple to set up. Once I’d downloaded the companion app, they were each set up and ready to go within a minute. The Alexa app also recognised them as new devices immediately after they had been setup too.
Generally I’m very happy with these plugs. Recommended.
This was one of the first smart home devices I had and now my home is full of them! It works well never fails to keep to my rountine I set, easy to ask Alexa to turn lamp on/off! Works every time!
I swapped out the TP Link smart plugs (that kept dropping off my network) for these. The QR code makes them so easy to set up with Apple and the Meross helps name your plugs. Having the plugs accessible on your smart device widget screen is a must. Very handy for my 3D printer to set the timer to turn off the printer when the print has finished. Even from outside my home network. I’m not too sure why they are so bulky.
We grabbed one of these about a year ago to control a lamp in the living room we are too lazy to walk the 4 or 5 metres to turn on manually and have since bought 3 MORE!
These effortlessly link to Apple Home and you can control them with a swipe and a tap. Scan the QR code in Apple Home, name it, and off you go.
Plug whatever you want into it, would recommend lights/decorations/stuff you turn on and off regularly.
For the price these are, they are so worth looking into, they are just as reliable, if not more, as their bulb counterparts (if using them to turn on lights) but arguably easier to set up
My only minor issue is the click they make when they turn on, but it’s no different from the sound of a light switch. Wouldnt mind a silent option.
Returned it as it’s a bit too large that I can’t put another plug beside it. I bought the mini one of the same brand then, which is excelle
It was easy to install to apple home. But needed another app to connect to alexa
Very noisy when turning on and off.
Also bulky that you cant use the plug next to it. I guess rhe mini series would be bette
I’ve used Meross plugs for a couple of years in our house to control lights when away, stop the tumble drier from doing its 5-minute turn-the-clothes-over-once-dry-but-everyone-is-asleep thing, etc. I’ve been very happy with them.
The Meross app is one of the better ones I have for smart control and they tie into Google Home well.
The energy monitoring on my latest batch of 4 plugs is a welcome addition. I have one attached to a small tube heater in my garden office and can sleep easy knowing that it costs ~25p per day to keep the chill off out there. It was shocking to find out that the xmas tree lights were 60p per day but ho-ho-ho we were really just using the plug to schedule their use.
I would love to see a better monitoring graph on the app. Currently you can see real time use, daily use by day in the week, daily use by day of the month and then monthly use across the year. I would love to see a graph across the day as well – maybe even just by hour.
Otherwise… great plugs.
easy to setup and to use, works great, you can set many schedules in the same day plus a week ahead, but my goodness they are massive so they can’t fit next to another usual plug which means you can’t use any other plug next to them, not even small ones.
they also make a loud clunk noise when the schedule turns them on.
I use it to control a 600W heater – seems fine to me
Used to power up multiple outdoor lights via indoor connection to power strip.
Great range easy to set up got this on a deal for 5 with an Echo device will buy others later.
It’s a bit chunky and a bit of an eye sore but works very well with google home, no issues whatsoever and easy to install.
Works well but a bit on the chunky side so stops me using the plug next to it on my multigang extension lead. Now that I know they do a slim version I would get that next time! No issue with the Meross app or integration with Alexa once I’d set it up correctly! I can now control my Christmas lights via Alexa!!!
Very good smart plug works like a charm with all smart assistants including Alexa. I like it a lot.
The ap makes it really easy to turn on it off remotely, and set up routines so you can use it like a timer. More compact than my previous manual and digital timers. Only downside is it doesn’t integrate with Alexa as well as I would like, to ages to setup and soon stopped working again. That may be Alexa’s fault though.
Very easy to install and set upo, works very well with Alexa and Apple Home.
Bigger than I thought they would be but work well with the app.
I’ve used these for years as they are so easy to connect compared to other big brand.
The app now includes money so it’s actually useful.
It was useless disaster before.
They could do more buts a good start.
Set up was easy. However the integration from Alexa had a little trouble to do it from the Meross app but reverse integration from Alexa worked for me. So far good and getting connected to wife very fast and does the job as expected.
Purchased as part of a deal with an Echo. Easy to set up
Works well. Handy to turn the lights off. It is a wide plug so the socket next to it is unusable.
I bought this a part of a Black Friday deal with an DOT
It was easy to set up and link to Apple home and Alexa functions
It’s just a chunky plug with a socket and wizardry inside it
Simple to use
Great fun telling Alexa ~ “Christmas Lights On”
They are plugged into one extension lead and BINGO they all turn on together.
I shall be getting more
Rated up to 13amps ~ so it can turn almost anything off or on
BRILLIANT
Whilst quite chunky this is a great product. Really easy to set up and works really well with HomeKi
Bought for just a fiver as part of a bundle with and Echo 4th Gen. Used it to add to the other bulbs and plugs we already have.
Definitely recommend these plugs , makes life soooo much easier . I will be buying more for sure they work wonders .
Great smart product where you can monitor the output via an App and even turn on/off electrical equipment that is plugged in via this device remotely in your house.
Imagine starting the heating an hour before you come home or starting the boiler right on time to save costs!
Brilliant technology!
Looks substantial, but could be too big if on a multi plug extension. Easy to configure.
Had to install App first, but then shared with Alexander app and works without a hub.
Ideal for turning on reading lamp when out, people think you are in.
Took ages to set up – then I used apple home and took about 2 minutes. Works great with the Alexa now. Brought several more.
his is slightly hard to set but it work nicely as expected
This is my first smart gadget and will buy others of this type. Could be good for elderly relatives on entering a dark room if no light switch nearby. Actually bought it because the manual switch on a certain light is of the old-fashioned variety and quite stiff even for my fingers. Option to switch on and off via my phone and not just by Alexa when I am in the room is a bonus.
This is so far great and I really want more, but it’s kinda expensive so I will stick with one.
You have to download the Meross app to install it but once done it was easy. I use it for my bedroom lamp to save me negotiating a dark bedroom and the dreaded stubbed toes. Works well with Alexa, I can turn it on before entering the bedroom just with voice commands. Only downside is it can be sensitive to Wi-Fi drops of 40% or less but you can monitor this on the Meross app. Overall very impressed
I’m not a fan of directly connecting smart devices via wifi and lean towards the Zigbee / Bluetooth and smart hub way of getting things connected. While these smart systems work very well, you tend to be locked into one vendor per hub and limited to the devices they sell. This time I was looking for smart plugs that could monitor power use and the Meross MSS310’s jumped out at me with the good reviews and product reviews on Youtube. Happy to say they have been very easy to setup and add to my IOT wifi network using the Meross App. The app supports TFA if you need that and links to Amazon Alexa without issue. I will be buying more to monitor remote heaters and writing a routine to link these to the door opening and closing. These plugs are set up on 2.4GHz WIFI 4 which is currently fine.
I would like to see a future version of these plugs that supports 5GHz wifi as well as 2.4GHz and WIFI 5, WIFI 6. It would be nice to have access to power monitoring in Alexa but that’s only currently supported via the Meross App.
I love these, can control my home really easily from my phone when I’m miles away.
