Ran it out from the summer house to replace some cat 5 I got from work (but was indoor cat 5) and worked straight away no problems what’s so eve
Bought the 50m cable to run down to the summer house at bottom of garden. There appears to be zero speed loss from the router to the end of the cable so speed is excellent, getting over 70Mbps. It’s only been installed a few weeks but so far no issues, hopefully it will stay that way 🙂
Struggle with WiFi in the garden and needed to connect a tv with fire stick in man cave. This is ideal and good signal
Quick and good quality product. Recommend seller. We used this to hard wire our guest house. So easy and durable.
Have used 4 of these cables outdoor for POE security cameras and POE wireless access points. Are standing the test of time – operating for over 12 months in all weather conditions at 1GB/s
I was able to replace an older cat5 cable and restore internet service to my annex with this cable. Routed through conduit, walls and around gutters without damage to cable. Very pleased with the result.
Looks as though it will do the job fine, though it is not as well protected as some.
I was hesitant purchasing this initially. I knew the reviews were good, but the length was too long.
I tested the full length initially and speed was great. I then decided to cut to the right length and reattach the connectors. It was really easy and my signal strength is brilliant. No drop outs at all. Really pleased.
Cable is good quality exterior cable
Is now buried in the garden, and my ring doorbell now has a decent signal. It looks like it will be a durable product but only time will tell. Overall decent bit of cable.
It’s good quality CAT6 cable, my only issue is that it holds a curl so it’s quite tough to straighten nicely on the side of the house. But that could be user erro
It’s a 15m cat6 ethernet cable. Not sure what else to say other than it’s a good quality cable. It bends well when running around a room, but doesn’t flex too much to worry about it splitting/breaking. I guess only time will tell how well the sheathing fares up, but overall I’m perfectly happy.
Good product. Cable was a bit stiff and difficult to unwind neatly, it was like wrestling with a spring at times, but it did the job.
Unable to say how it will do in the long term but working fine now on my roof attached to a Mikrotik dish antenna.
Good quality cable however the outer casing came slightly damaged. Did not affect the use ability of the cable, I am on a VM 500mbps and get speeds of 400 to 500 mbps 20m away from route
Excellent value for money. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Needed cable to run from wi fi hub in house to sheep shed for camera, during lambing.
Brilliant length and WiFi signal excellent.
Only got cable had to go and buy cable ties
It saved our marriage during lockdown when my husband was trying to work with three children in the house. He is now working on the conservatory at the end of the garden and we have buried the cable in the ground. No problem whatsoever with signal as it is an Ethernet.
Managed to run a cable from the router by the front door, around the house, down the garden to the office (shed). Now no shouting at the computer, swearing at the wifi… I can run Teams, Zoom, have three screens running and work is seamless.
OK people, forget all those negative reviews. I plugged this cable in and got a solid 980mps. In fact it that good that I have left the cable trailing across the living room floor to my pc. Now the wife is going mad!
The cable is very good, had to run this cable outside to my garage and is waterproof and ample length
Does as it says on the package. I have laid the cable outside without any other covering and it is functioning fine. I did think the Cat 6 had better inner cabling to a Cat 5 cable and it was tighter bound. Irrespective, the outer sheath seems strong and durable to withstand the weather and hopefully it will last for some time. I am happy with the purchase as it has sorted the internet issue to the outside building.
I bought this to hard wire to sons xbox to stop lagging made big difference he had no lag whatsoever very happy son = happy mum
So far, 1 week after installation, very good. I can’t comment on durability
I bought this cable as I was fed up with wifi boosters crashing in my garden office, I now have a steady 32mb. The only thing to be careful of is kinking while you’re rolling it out, good product though and better value than a booster.
quick delivery easy to install a fair Wi Fi signal
Item was able to reach second floor of my house and was able to get 388mbps but it’s capable of 1gbps via wired connection from hub, I was scared of buying due to price but it was worth my time and my money
Pleasantly surprised at quality. Used for installing a network to an outside cabin. Used length of 50m and speed check was excellent. Crimping tool is of good solid build and works well.
Network feed from house to outbuilding, across paving buried under joint, up through dutch wall flower bed then into outside building.
Cable delivered quickly and appears good quality with robust connectors. Would order again if needed the same item agai
Seems like normal cable in an outer sheath but works ok
Pretty price but so worth it if your router is far away from your room, I connect it to a booster in my room and pull 350 mbps down when pull 370 beside the real router, just a bit expensive
Hard wired from my house BT master socket to temporary static caravan during building work. Excellent signal to router and PC. Robust and weather proof and very long, allowing circuitous route to be used
Second cable I have purchased and I’ve been happy with both of them. Good quality, durable and provide the speed that’s advertised. Happy with purchase!
I bought this product to help set up a second Wi-Fi router, and to extend Wi-Fi in our house. I set up all the different components including this cable, inside first to test and all work perfectly. I haven’t got it set up outside yet, but product feels durable and strong enough to withstand being run outside and up the side of the house.
Arrived ok, cable was difficult to straighten, but did what it was supposed to.
Arrived ok, cable was difficult to straighten, but did what it was supposed to.
Works fine. Not the most supple of cables but that just means I can’t kink it and break the wires inside. Been playing my console on-line with no problems (except my gaming skills).
Exactly the perfect fit for an external lead going from my lounge, outside up the walls to the loft.
We live in an old cottage and the WiFi signal couldn’t reach me in the loft! It can now, and such a simple solution – thank you very much indeed.
I use this to connect my sky wifi router directly to my computer, going through a wall and two sections of roof. Immense improvement to stability and speed compared to wifi. The cable is very strong, almost to a fault as I had some trouble turning the sheath to a 90 degree angle for insertion at either end, but it works perfectly and comes bundled with cable ties to help with management.
Really tough cable, enabled me to discreetly connect my home office in an outbuilding to provided wired internet from my home router.
Great for external use, it is not as pliable as normal cat5/6 but that is because it is for outdoor use. Seems good quality and takes 7mm clips for surface fixing. Had no issues with product and would use again.
Excellent high quality cable. The cable was terminated solidly into the clips with no risk of movement or loose connection. Using this cable and a 4 port ethernet switch I’ve been able to remove 3 devices from WiFi and reduce the overall strain on my network. I’d highly recommend this cable to anyone looking to run an outdoor cable or internally using trunking or clips
All received good and in time. I over estimated the length of cable but does what it says on the tin straight forward to install for someone rubbish at anything like that. You get cable ties as well but would of thought they would of been black not white to match but I used some cable holders black
Blue plastic tip covering the each end of cable were slightly loose but tiny bit of glue and was easy to fix, overall item arrived fast and I think is a good value for money. Was used to get internet into the garden area, wire feels very durable and they added tie clips helped a lot also. Thank you
This is being used to extend temporarily to an additional wireless router. Gets moved everyday. Very pleased.
Strong cable, best I have seen for price, would definitely buy again, delivery was a bit slower then expected but considering current time situation not a big deal.
Seems to do the job. I would have given 5 star had it not been for the cheap RJ plugs. Hoping that it will be durable in the winter months but generally pleased.
Seems sturdy enough, strong outer sheath wraps around a further layer of resiliant pvc below then a fairly thick foil shields the conductors. Signal quality good, not noticably better than wifi, but does the job of powering the POE equipment I need to work from home.
This cable came with a plug at each end so I cheated to run it through walls, cutting it about 2m from one end so it could be run through 9mm holes then reconnecting it using a krone block now hidden inside my desk, for someone who doesn’t run LAN cables every day far quicker and less fiddly than fitting a new plug!
The delivery was really fast, the price is honest for a 50m cable and works well outdoor. I’ve attached mine from my home to my garden studio shed and it works perfectly. The wifi signal is perfect. Thanks!
This is the second cable I have bought. I used it, like the first one, to run the cable from my smart TV along an outside wall, through my garage and up to my Virgin Super Hub 3 in my loft. Much faster signal and performance than trying to access apps via the Virgin Tivo box. Very pleased with the result.
as a streamer living the complete opposite end of the house this is a life saver!
I tried power lines and wifi boosters to no avail, this wire is long and so so strong! recommend it for anyone who needs the bet connection from their router possible!
(1 star on wifi signal because this is Ethernet, no wifi duhhh)
I have tacked this cable to the underside of my 40 foot static caravan to allow me to hard wire from the 4Glte router at one end to the Smart TV in the Master bedroom at the other.
It was very easy to work with and provides an excellent signal.m
I used this to add a second wifi hub to an existing router for better wifi. Works great and reuses an otherwise redundant piece of tech. We now have great duel band wifi even in the garden!
Ran cable from front of house to back – should have done it years ago instead of fiddling around with powerline and WiFi extenders. Used 16mm to drill holes for rh45 (cut off the blue sheath). Burial option great – we’ve got old bricks/lime mortar and I don’t like hammering cable clips in.
Excellent quality item , I installed it to a iMac from a hallway located BT Home hub to a far away bedroom, great durability definitely recommend, would recommend taping up the plug ends with pvc tape to facilitate easier installation through wall holes
Great value. Gives good signal over 50m. I’ve cut it to get 20m and 30m Custom cables giving excellent speed around the house. Buried the cable in the french drain around the external walls. Cable seems to be normal cable with extra covering (giving two outer layers). Unable to assess durability at this early stage.
Great product. Very pliable and easy to work with. Hard wearing outer sheath for a Network cable. Easier than most network cables to re-terminate into a CAT5 crimp plug and a doddle into a CAT6. I have not buried this but clipped to an external wall so unsure yet on UV wear, if any.
LAN speed and connectivity appears to have improved against my old original internal CAT5 fitted outside.
This product was perfect for me because I added a security camera to my nvr The correct ends we’re already on the cable so it’s a simple diy job also the price is very good and I received it next day I would definitely recommend this produc
Perfect should of done this long ago always was struggling for Wifi signal.
Bought this to run straight from my router at the front of the house, up along the soffits and down to my shed 100ft down the garden. It works perfectly and now my ps4 is running decent internet, I can move in permanently and still see the wife and kids from the window. Quick delivery too..
Currently being used inside which kinda defeats the point of it being an outdoor cable. I will get around to putting it outside eventually. But for now it’s doing the job of getting Internet to my TV.
Currently being used inside which kinda defeats the point of it being an outdoor cable. I will get around to putting it outside eventually. But for now it’s doing the job of getting Internet to my TV.
Just what I needed. Seems well made and nice touch with the free pack of zip ties. Seems like great value and allowed me to get my full 360mbs internet in the garden office
Good quality cable. I buried mine in the garden using a plastic drain pipe as a conduit. Linked up the workshop about 150 ft away from router in house. No problems so far and a good connection speed.
I can now get that perfect headshot without having to go make a brew while i wait to see if the shot pulled off. Low ping and quick download speeds. Cable is nice and lightweight as well making it easy to take to the exterior of house.
although being used indoors I needed a more durable cable due to being routed through a commercial kitchen and therefore exposed to high/varying temperatures etc but has so far held up a whole lot better than previous cables have, the outer sheathing has plenty of room for the inner cables to shuffle about and settle themselves when routing around corners etc without them getting trapped or pinched and strained like with most cables, and all for the same price of lesser cables. good data speeds and reliable connectio
I was worried that it was too light when it arrived – I expected the metal inside the cable to be heavy.
However, it works well – so no complaints – however there have done it – it works!
Brilliant and great value. Ran this cable from my house to the office at the end of the garden which involved dragging it through brickwork, stapling it to a fence and after all that abuse, plugged it in and now have a reliable connection to the internet for gaming, err I mean work.
Bought 50m as needed 35m and 30m was the next size down. fitted a tp link extender to a garden building. put cable round to the other side of the garden room to use the full length as it comes with the ethernet ends fitted and moulded, and preferred to do this than have the spare cable wrapped. very good product as we got the same ethernet speeds when attached to an xbox outside, as we did inside the house when attaching a laptop directly to the router. garden area also picks up good internet (you can play you tube videos in the garden), although at a reduced signal strength, but this is as expected due to being wireless in the garden. when buying the length, remember to add extra measurements for attaching to all the walls. we needed a lot more cable than a direct measurement to the area. We also bought some 21mm plastic tubing in 2-3m lengths to thread the ethernet cable through when burying it underground in the garden to protect it. also taped the tube ends together to avoid anything getting inside. took the tubing up the wall slightly and sealed the holes. Did this in case someone kicks or knocks the wire at a low level e.g. with a lawnmower.
Great product, strong and durable ideal for using outside. Good length and did the job. Fad delivery too.
Found this easy to clip to the outside walls of my house , I ran it from the router to a PS4 and the results were great as the WiFi I was using wasn’t a very strong signal so I’m well pleased with the purchase and would recommend
Seems like a very durable bit of cable – thicker than my other piece of external (cat5e) cable. It doesn’t tangle easily and thus should be quite easy to install. Nice quality terminations with moulded boots. I’ve used it to run from the router by the front door up the outside wall and into the loft where I have an additional wireless access point. I had to cut off one end to get it through the UPVC door frame and re-terminated with a Cat5e module. The quality of the wires is much better (thicker) than a similar external cat5e cable I have and it seems like there is more copper. Termination was no problem with a simple crimping tool and Excel module. Runs at full gigabit (or presumably 10Gbs if your switches can handle it).
Very happy with my purchase!
Excellent cable, well made, thick, very solid construction. Feels a lot more substantial than regular Ethernet cables. Using this to power POE IP cameras on a farm so it will get some heavy weathering. Purchased one of these 2 years ago and it is showing no signs of wear from the outdoors.
Can’t comment on durability etc as it’s not long been fitted, but it works great so fingers crossed! The only problem is that the RJ45s are prefitted – which is great as they’re pretty fiddly to fit yourself(!) but you do of course have to drill holes in walls etc big enough for the whole plug to go through! Still, that’s what filler and sealant was invented for 😉
This is a great cable.
So long as you never have to move it one set up. Because its outdoor rated cable it’s incredibly stiff and not easy to coil up (which you’ll probably want to do with a 20m length of it)
Only reason I didn’t give 5 for durability Is because it’s only been in for a few weeks.
So far everything is going well. Used it to extend a HDMI signal using a power of Ethernet device.
Cable seems well made and I think it will last well. Good job as it is outside.
Good purchase to run Ethernet to opposite end of the house, no downfalls and no loss of signal/data. Cable is semi-rigid and can be bent around corners easily. Found some issues clipping the wire down as it is quite a snug fit and if pinned all the way I found that the cable gets squished slightly.
A great quality cable!
After moving into a house which had previously extended, I was disappointed to find out my router signal would not reach the opposite end of the house or upstairs (due to the double-skinned wall between the extension and main part of the house).
I bought this cable to run a couple of lines from an Airport Extreme under the floor and out of the side of the house – one up to the loft and back into a first floor room, the other around the property to the office at the front (to two aiport base stations).
This now results in full wifi signal over the entire house and devices will automatically switch over to the nearest base station.
The cable is quite thick and much more rigid than typical indoor LAN cables. This can make it difficult to work with under floors (especially if you are only lifting a few boards and feeding it through long distances) as it just coils up.
However, once fed through, the cable has been great and one year later, it’s still performing as it should.
I cut one of the ends so I could feed it through a smaller hole in the wall and it can be a bit fiddly to refit a new connector (make sure you have the right tools and know what you are doing if you choose to fo this).
Overall, very happy with the quality, would definitely recommend and I will be purchasing more to run my connection down to my shed!
cable is outside right now, been using it for 3 weeks now and im still connected to the internet so i’m guessing it’s working and not breaking because of water =)
Not as cheap as other cat 5/6 cables, But for long runs and less loses
I would use all the time from now o
I used this outside, cut off the ends and terminated them to boxes. The wires inside are normal colour for cat6.
Super cheap price for what seems to be very decent cable and a decent crimp tool. All you need to cable up a house and avoid spending a bomb on fancy wifi adaptors and power line systems.
bought this for an Ex-Pro 60m AV-Pro T60LP Micro HDMI over CAT6 extender. Did have a few issues with this and not sure if its the cable or the device yet as the device and handle 60m and this cable was only 20m. Most likely it was the device but you never know. Cable is great quality though.
I’m a Network Engineer and used this to connect an outdoor PoE wireless Access Point (MikroTik wAP) in my backyard. Only been in service a few days, but so far so good. Can feel the quality; very durable and fit for purpose for a burial cable. By being able to bury the Ethernet cable, saved me all sorts of grief setting the AP up. Just be aware that it’s slightly thicker than a standard Ethernet cable. I was able to close the access panel on the AP, but only just. Highly recommend this product.
Great quality cable with connectors, crimp tool and zip ties thrown in. Great value at the ~50 I bought it at. As this cable is a bit stiffer than usual Ethernet it makes it loads easier to poke it through holes in walls. I didn’t find it hard to strip and crimp at all, in fact both ends were very easy to do and my installation worked first time. Be careful with the stripper on the crimp tool and don’t close it all the way otherwise you’ll damage the conductors inside, I started on one side, closed to just over half so the outer sleeve was cut, did the same directly opposite and then pulled both layers of insulation off.
I bought the 200m one from Amazon warehouse and used to wire a building. The cable is very durable and survives going through metal and plastic trunking. As others have said, terminating can be a pain as there are 2 layers of protection (the inner layer is more difficult to cut) and the plastic on the inside. The crimping tool came with a stripper which worked quite well and didn’t damage the copper in my experience. To cut the plastic on the inside, I stripped the cable I wanted to expose, brought the pairs down, pulled the plastic and cut it, then went on to crimping the cables. As this was my first time, it took me a few attempts to get right.
However, everything is installed and it’s working to power 5 Ubiquiti AP’s using 24v passive POE at full Gigabit speeds.
If you’re doing this regularly, you’d probably be better off getting something easier to work with, however, if you’re a beginner and want the tools, I’d happily recommend this.
+ Very thick cable – looks very well protected for the outside run where I’m using it (if you’re only doing inside a house – see below)
+ Providing a gigabit ethernet connection for me at 50m
– Nothing really. Note it is an outdoor cable – the protective sleeve and black colour means it isn’t low profile and doesn’t squeeze round corners and under carpets well (it isn’t designed for such).
Great cable and accessories, does “exactly what is said on the tin”.
used about 50m to run from one side of the house outside to another part of the house.
only downside is that the cable does kink a bit if not careful when unwinding from the box, but that aside the cable did not brake even though one section was extremely twisted due to not paying attention when unwinding. Works 100%. would defiantly recommend for anyone who wants a good outdoor CAT6 cable.
Perfect cable to go from the study to the log cabin. Very tough, and would go underground unprotected (although I did put mine in conduit that was already there.). Highly recommended! And at a very affordable price. Would be good if they could offer these lengths without plugs (cut mine off).
Used without the connectors, but it has been great otherwise, provides good signal quality with no issue. Used outside the house and inside walls.
Be warned, it is fairly thick so I wouldn’t recommend it unless you really need it to be waterproof.
I needed to run an ethernet connection from a router position to a room on the other side of the house. This would have involved me running cable up around doors, then through several walls and along skirting. It was far easier to just run 15M of cable through two outside walls and round the back wall of the house.
This is a very strong cable, and absolutely necessary if you’re running ethernet outside where it’ll be exposed to UV light. I believe it can be run underground (or under soil) but I chose to clamp it to the outside wall. Be aware that as it is such a thick cable it is not easy to bend, so you must make allowances for this when going round 90 degree bends and particularly when wiring into an RJ45 socket.
The above is not a criticism of a fine product, but just some advice before you buy.
When you get a BT box there are many restricted features which can only be accessed from a LAN connection. So no internet over mains or wifi extenders could do the job.
This kit was ideal. The cable is sturdy enough to keep straight when going through a hole in the wall. On this point, the cable is for external use and may not be as flexible as you need for short patch cables. Fitting the plugs was not the easiest of tasks for a beginner, but after a couple of tries it was spot on. There are plenty of extra plugs to keep you going while you learn. The crimper/cutter tool is great.
If you are looking at this to get your internet connection extended then get a cheap signal tester to make sure all the wires are conducting.
good strong cable. very good connection. Im speed at the router is 78Mbs and the speed at the end of the cable is 78Mbs so nothing lost over the 50m of cable. I read something about CCA not being as good at Copper, but truth is that if you are using this on a home network its just fine and very cost effective.
This cable is copper-covered aluminium. CCA gets a bad press in relation to solid copper wire. People say conductivity is not so good and so on. I have wired a large site with these cables from a switch to various access points. Everything is working fine, there is no signal loss, a couple of cables are PoE also and that works fine. This cable is great value although I am starting to build up a collection of crimping tools now! (Hint to the seller – how about just selling cable and nothing else?)
Cable is excellent quality, I have used it to connect a HDMI extender from the lounge to the bedroom.Pity about the RJ45 connectors which came with it. I thought they were poor quality and had difficulty getting a signal when using a network tester. After several attempts, I gave up and went and bought some better quality ones from Maplin. Once I crimped these new ones on, the network sprung to life.
I was skeptical about this cable due to some poor reviews however the cable worked fine for me.
this cable was being installed under a floor without ducting, I have had problems before with cables being damaged during the build process so ordered this. It is basically a standard, flexible red cat6 cable coated in an extra, less flexible sheath. I am confident that it will provide adequate protection.
it was tested before and after installation with both 100mbps internet connection and with a HDBaseT link that requires a very high bandwidth and is affected by defects in the cable. the cable worked perfectly for both.
the crimp tool and cable ties were useful, however the rj45 connectors are the type with no load bars. (when fitting 10+ connectors these are very time consuming to connect up).
overall very happy
Cable Contruction
Overall cable diameter is approx 6-7mm. A single run sits neatly in single 6mm round cable clips. A run of two cables fit perfectly side-by-side in a 6mm twin & earth cable clip.
There is the visible, exterior, sturdy black sheath which causes some stiffness in the cable but is also very tough. This makes it a little difficult to bend in a tight radius but also helps when passing a cable through drilled holes in a wall. Removing the black, outer sheath (carefully) there is a second overall sheath which is more like a traditional UTP cable in thickness and flexibility. When routing the cable into a back-box or to a patch panel for subsequent termination I would reccomend removing the outer protective sheath as far back as possible without sacrificing the protection and then routing the more flexible cable, covered by the interior sheath that remains otherwise you *will* struggle to bend cables back into place when screwing the faceplate onto the box (and potentially cause a breakage) or might suffer from space issues at the back of a patch-panel as those extra couple of mm in diameter really do make a difference.
The interior is the standard 4x tightly twisted Cat6 pairs and a central plastic ‘former’ that aids in the individual pairs’ separation within the cable.
Both exterior and interior sheaths are marked with cable type / certification and also length marks each meter.
Given the price of less than 80 inc VAT and delivery when purchasing and the fact that I recieved 50 RJ45 plugs, a crimp tool and some coloured cable ties I am very impressed with the value. Many other sellers and sites are selling cable of this quality for more than this and then add VAT and shipping on top making it in excess of 100
Good quality product, great if you need some reliable speedy networking around your home or between buildings when powerline ethernet or wireless just doesn’t cut it.
I needed to get network/internet access to a summer house I built down the end of my garden. Wireless not an option as I wanted to stream 1080p content from a server. So after some investigation I purchased this reel based on price really. I dug a trench from the house to the summer house approx 30cm’s deep and buried the cable (I did not bury until I had tested the cable first !!) I ran two lengths one as a redundant back up should one fail.
The cable quality is good, it is tough and quite difficult to fit the plugs to the end due to the thickness of the cable, the cable is also quite difficult to route due to its rigid build.
Just as reference I transferred a 1080p mkv file from my server to the desktop in the summer house and the transfer speed was 75MB Per Sec. The length of the cable is around 50 meters.. So I am very impressed with the speed.
Overall this is great product which I highly recommend.
Great quality cabling just this weekend ran about 50m from a room into the loft down the side of the house and in through a hole I drilled into the garage, works at full speed with an increase of only 1ms, very sturdy and the 2 layers of protection from outdoor weather and rmi shielding is brilliant very hard wearing cabling, am expecting a lot from it!
