Bought two G1S’s. They appear to be sturdy and well built, no overheating problems so far.
The rotator arm and shoes ensure flexibility when mouting and pointing.
Good brightness and a large range of color temperatures (for white light) as well as 300 settings of RGB colors.
Easy to use, all in all a great product for the price.
Very rarely do I get this impressed with a product. This is a meticulously built product from a block of aircraft aluminum. You can feel the quality. The light has great control over brightness and colour temperature. My Webcam videos jumped in improvement. And I even use it for portrait photography. This is an impressive “svelte” object.
I love this light! I use it for events and have it placed on top of my video camera. It Makes a huge difference on my video quality. Without it, footage would be grainy in dark environments once I lighten it in a video editing app, so that won’t be a problem anymore thanks to this light. I love how the dial can be adjusted to provide bright AF led light and warm light in the lower 2000k level. Definitely play with the light before going out to use it in big events like weddings and venues. The battery life is awesome ! if you have an event that is 6+ hours, then Definitely take the charger with you to be safe. I used it for 4 hours on and off and one bar of battery life was used. I love that the battery has a display of how much it’s charged.

Leider kann man die Lichtfarbe nicht in der magenta grn Achse verstellen, da die Modi sich nicht mischen lassen es geht nur blau/gelb oder bunt. Ist aber als Headlight und Augenlicht sehr ntzlich, zumal fr den Preis.
well made, works great. I have it attached to a small rig ball mount and clamp that I can attach to various stands. using for night photography and as a fill light has been perfect for both of these tasks. I also used it to do some car repair as the light fit perfectly in a narrow crevice that my 4xAAA flashlight would not fit.

These lights are amazing because they are super portable, bright, have a long battery life, and best of all have a lot of cool features. You can change the lights to any color. Adjust the hue and saturation. You can set the lights to lightning mode, candle light, police lights, etc. They are pretty affordable compared to other RGB lights. I recommend this if your starting out with filming or photography. I bought three and just messing with the different looks I can get for a shot was pretty fun. Definitely recommend.
A little lower in brightness than I would like, but the price more than makes up for it.
Superb build quality. Very sturdy, solid aluminum. Intuitive menu and the special functions are pretty good. Television simulation isn’t very good, candlelight is acceptable. Police light simulation is perfect – spot on, effect is even better with multiple lights.
Would recommend without reservation. Excellent product and superb value for the money.
Instead of a flash, I figured I could use this handy and portable user defined multi-color light for photography, on the camera and off the camera when needed. Its heavy stock aluminum with nice dual function option wheels with center pushbuttons within the wheels. Don’t do what I did though, at night I turned it onto its lowest setting, turned the room lights off and turned it to face me. Thankfully it was only a minute or so of dotted vision, hate to think if I had it at 100%. The CIA could use this to replace water boarding. It has a user facing small LED screen so you can monitor the settings you made and battery left, instead of guessing. Rechargeable with USB-C. Its rather heavy but its durable and has a cold shoe mount where you can mount, say, a microphone. Another great purchase.
For such a small package, it’s a superb light!
The different settings make it useful for everything – I’ve used it for macro product photography, videography as a backlight, setting ambience in a room at a party – I mean…it’s a light, so the uses are pretty normal…but there’s settings I haven’t seen before, like lightning, camera flashes, fire, and emergency vehicle!
The battery life isn’t too bad at lower brightness, but the main issue I’ve seen is recharging time – it seems to take forever!
But as long as you keep it topped up, it’s a fabulous little light, and is now a staple in my camera bag!
I got 2 of them and they are so worth it! I would of opted for the Aputure MC if they weren’t so weak, even though their app is really worth getting the MC. The Pixel G1s were a good choice, they are stronger and more affordable.
Habe mir dieses Produkt aufgrund der positiven Rezensionen bestellt und hatte dementsprechend auch erhhte Erwartungen. Spoiler: Meine Erwartungen wurden von der ersten Sekunde bertroffen!
Die Videolampe kommt in einer kompakten, hochwertigen Verpackung. Die Leuchte an sich ist transportfest in Schaumstoff eingesetzt und es liegen alle ntzlichen Zubehrteile bei, welche alle einen Sinn haben, z.B. weitere Schrauben fr den Gelenkarm, USB-C Ladekabel, Bedienungsanleitung und eine beige Schutztasche fr den eigenen Transport im Rucksack.
Die Bedienung der Leuchte ist intuitiv und die Leistung in den einzelnen Modi beeindruckt. Das Display auf der Rckseite ist deutlich lesbar und zeigt aufgerumt alle wichtigen Informationen. Beim Laden wird der aktuelle Akkustand angezeigt.
Es kam schnell das Gefhl auf, dass bei dem Produkt an alles gedacht wurde. Ein Beispiel: Die USB-C Ladebuchse befindet sich auf der Unterseite (wenn man die LED-Front als Vorderseite definiert) und dafr wurde speziell an eine Aussparung im Gelenkarm gedacht, so dass man die Leuchte laden kann, auch wenn der Gelenkarm nicht ausgefahren ist. Das nenne ich “tolles Design” und trgt zum positiven Gesamteindruck bei.
Fantastic light. It’s very well built, it’s mostly metal with the exception of the knobs. You can easily adjust brightness, color and warmth to meet your needs in various lighting conditions. It can be mounted on the top of your camera and has multiple areas where you can add additional accessories like a microphone.
It’s battery lasted me about 3-4hrs of continuous use under a full charge. Leaves something to be desired, but it’s not bad.
I loved that the power connection is USB-c.
My only complaint is that to register the product you have to do something via Facebook. I’d rather not share my life (or whatever secret data that Facebook shares with companies) to register the product. If you click the link on the card, you’re sent to a FB Chat not a registration. Not sure what they want me to do there. Since I’m not comfortable with that I guess my product isn’t going to be covered if it breaks, but it works fine now. Wish they would have used a more standard product registration process.

I like very much the accessibility/usability of Pixel G1: it has separate wheels and buttons for each function, the other ones (RGB lights) in order to change their functions/adjustments, one has to navigate by pushing and switching the same wheel or button. For this reason, Pixel G1 is the only brand from which I purchased two units.
Another thing: the arm for attachment: it is remarkably well done, and it also comes with the rig adapter for the shoe of the camera; it is the only (RGB lights) brand that provides this adapter included in the package, the other brands (even more expensive) let you look for improvised solutions and buy additional adaptors. The conclusion is that this brand cares for customers: purchase Pixel G1.
Habe diese Videoleuchte kurz vor Weihnachten 2020 sehr spontan gekauft, um whrend der Bescherung bei wenig Licht zu filmen und genau das hat super geklappt. Musste dazu sogar die Helligkeit stark nach unten regeln, damit es nicht viel zu hell ist. Durch die einstellbare Lichtfarbe war es auch ein sehr schnes warmes Licht. Bin bis jetzt sehr zufrieden. Wenn sie jetzt auch noch lange hlt, ist alles top.
This light exceeded my expectations. It’s well made, bright and has well thought out controls, particularly the ability to be able to control the various functions from *either* side of the light. This eliminates the need to turn the light around for simple adjustments, such as warmth or brightness. The “light effects” are a neat feature, allowing for creative effects for video shooting.
I use my light for macro photography, videography and as a supplemental light for video conferencing. The battery lasts long and it’s great to see further adoptable of USB-C.
The only single thing I don’t like about this light is that the power switch feels mushy. It’s not a tactile “click” switch and almost requires a fingernail to slide it over. This light won’t accidentally turn on while stored, but it would be nice if the power switch were as robust as the other buttons and dials.
Overall, a solid purchase that I’d make again.
Love this little light. Built like a tank, controls easy, RGB, brightness adjustability by +/_ 1 degree, not 5 like others. Nice little metal swing arm underneath for some added versability, and good battery life. The only thing on the wish list would be for app control – but given that those that do – I’m looking at you Atomcube – are 2-3 times the price of this light, it’s a no brainer. We bought 2. Best little light on the market.
Habe die Leuchte heute erhalten und gleich ausprobiert und bin hellauf begeistert. Schon die Haptik berzeugt – sehr stabiles und dennoch leichtes Alu-Gehuse, wertige Knpfe, ein Arm der nicht wackelt oder knarzt – es wirkt wie ein deutlich hochpreisigeres Produkt. Die Lichtsteuerung lt keine Wnsche offen – sowohl Helligkeit als auch Lichtfarbe lassen sich sehr gut und przise steuern und die verschiedenen Farbmodi erlauben auch, die Leuchte als Akzentleuchte einzusetzen. Die Gre ist in meinen Augen ein weiterer Pluspunkt, da man so eine sehr mobile Leuchte hat (und der eingebaute und langlebige Akku erhhen noch mal die Mglichkeiten, eines mobilen Einsatzes). Was auch berzeugt, ist die Mglichkeit, das Ladekabel als Netzteil zu verwenden. Ein durch und durch zufriedenstellendes Produkt mit einem sehr guten Preis/Leistungs-Verhltnis.
I purchased this light to improve my appearance on zoom calls in court. (Due to pandemic, court hearings have gone to zoom and other video platforms.) Clamping this light to my desk above my camera and screen has helped a lot. The light temperature is adjustable. I can adjust the light intensity to fit with the ambient light, which varies day to day. The light lasts alll day. I have been very satisfied.
Great product works as advertised.. but some Quality control issues.. I got one and got another after a month then realised old one has issues.. the transition between colors is abrupt on the old one the new one has more smooth transition. New one front diffuser is much more diffused hence better light. The new one at brightness level one is much more brighter that the older one.. that I am not sure good or bad but the max brightness seems to be same.
It small and yet powerful. The swing stand is an added advantage to add additional items like a mike etc. The operating button are very easy and have a fast response, unlike the push buttons on other lights. The front panel has a fine diffuser which is good.
The only thing that is not available is the various lighting effects. It also does not have a magnetic back. The included accessories are very practical. Overall I am happy with this.

I expected a little extra light but this little guy gives a LOT more oomph than I expected.
I had purchased a much larger, MUCH more expensive LED light a few years ago that required BIG batteries and was a pain to lug around and mount. This is the opposite in all respects but almost gives off as much light as one 8 times its size and lasts just as long on a tiny built in battery I can charge with my usual USB cables and not some clunky external charge -and did I mention is CHEAP!? WOW, excellent value for what it is, so much so that I bought a second one after I used it – very impressed with the color and brightness options.
At the same time, the RGB mode wasn’t switching colours properly – it seems that if one mode worked, the other stopped working, and they’d randomly start and stop as I cycled through. It felt like something had gone wrong in switching between the two banks of light elements. Finally, the emergency light modes would either flash normally or slow down to a fraction of the speed each time.
Got in touch with the seller, so we’ll see what happens. If this worked it would be a brilliant product as the build quality, form factor and performance are exactly what you’d hope for.
EDIT: The distributor was great and got a replacement unit to me within days. This one appears to work perfectly so far, so I’ll test it a bit harder and update if I discover anything.
The fault with the original unit seems to be down to way it switches between the RGB and bi-colour elements. When the RGB mode is working correctly, the bi-colour elements won’t turn on in any mode that uses them, and the opposite seems to be true. I think this product may be prone to certain flaws, but when it works it’s excellent so I’ve updated my score.
Wow! Video lights have come a long way. I can’t believe how awesome this light is for the price. It’s light and compact and it’s so cool that it has the full array of colours. No need for gels!!

The level of customization with all the RGB colors are perfect. You can use as a background filling, direct light, head light and of course to be your light during that work meeting call.

I was a bit dubious about this product but having read the reviews I decided to take the plunge. I have been pleasantly surprised. Of course it isn’t as bright as a mains powered light but if you are able to position it reasonable close to the subject it does the job very well. I am impressed with the range of lighting options available, brightness, colour, warmth etc… I won’t be using the preset scene options but I guess some people may find them useful. I haven’t had this long enough to comment on the battery life. If you need a constant studio light for relatively close up work, I would recommend this product.
I foresee many use cases for these and I am quite happy with my purchase so far, they seem worth it for the price and definitely a good purchase if you are considering pricier panels but not sure if you really should.
The only real con I’ve found is the they have no way of mounting in landscape mode naturally.
Sehr gutes LED Licht. Helligkeit und Bedienung ist hervorragend. Die Bedienung erfolgt sehr intuitiv. Die flexible Montageschiene und das mitgelieferte Zubehr ist sehr wertig. Alles Metall. Die Regelung ber die stabilen Drehregler mit Tasten erfolgt przise und leichtgngig.
Alles in Allem sehr gutes Preis-Leisungsverhltnis und absolut empfehlenswert. Wesentlich teurere LED Leuchten sind nicht besser und die Materialanmutung ist hier absolut top.
I am thoroughly impressed by this light. Very, very solid build quality, the controls are simple (and I like the color guide on the back), the light is super bright and the color is vibrant and rich. The effect modes are pretty neat, too. I like the swing arm that it’s mounted on, also very solid with a nice cold shoe mount attached.
Just really really surprised and impressed by this light. Got it on discount on Black Friday, and absolutely will be buying a second at full price soon.

Zur Bedienung und den vielen Funktionen mchte ich nichts schreiben denn das haben andere schon sehr detailliert getan.

Ich hatte eine kleine Photoleuchte gesucht, als Effektlicht oder auch z.Zt. um im Wald Pilze zu photographieren etc.
Die Leuchte ist erstaunlich gut verarbeitet, robust und die Haptik ist sehr gut.
Auch die Helligkeit ist erstaunlich, klar, man mchte immer mehr, aber es gibt da nichts zu meckern und ich betreibe sie meistens unterhalb der maximalen Leistung.
Die Betriebsmodi sind ntzlich, Farbtemperatur und auch RGB-Farben sind sehr komfortabel einstellbar. Das macht Spa und ist sinnvoll!
Was ich nicht brauche, sind die Farbeffekte, Blinklichter, Polizeileuchte etc., aber vielleicht ist das was fr Videologen, die solche Effekte verwenden mchten.
Fr die Anwendergruppe ist auch evtl. der “Schwenkbalken” hilfreich, kann man doch damit auf dem einzelnen Blitzschuh der Kamera die Leuchte und ein Mikro ber den Cold shoe des “Balkens” anschlieen. Clever gemacht.
In Summe: bin positiv berrascht und sie ist hufig im Einsatz. Jetzt steht die Langzeiterfahrung/Haltbarkeit an.
Da ich dabei bin mir ein kleines Foto/Video-Studio aufzubauen und auch ab und zu damit unterwegs bin, lege ich mir hierfr das ein oder andere Zubehr zu. Nun ist es die Pixel G1s Videoleuchte. Ich habe schon verschiedene Modelle von anderen Herstellern ausprobiert, die waren auch nicht schlecht, aber diese Leuchte begeistert mich.
Ich finde die Leuchte sieht sehr edel aus und hat eine tolle Leuchtkraft. Die RGB Farbwiedergabe ist saftig und hell. Der stabile Schwenkarm ist neben dem Blitzschuhadapter ein zustzliches Plus da so jede gewnschte Position montiert und eingestellt werden kann. Gut gelst wurde der Einschaltknopf. Versehentliches Einschalten ist kaum mglich da der Schalter flach verbaut wurde. Die Bedienung ist einfach und kann mittels den Drehrdchen und den Druckschaltern gut gewhlt werden.
So kann die Farbtemperatur oder die Leuchtkraft mit dem jeweiligen Drehrad fein eingestellt werden. Per Knopfdruck geht das bei der Leuchtstrke sogar in 20% schritten noch schneller.
Im Farbmodus kann auf den Punkt genau die gewnschte Farbe eingestellt werden. Auch sehr interessant sind die Szenen / Effekte. Das Display sieht nicht nur schick aus, sondern wird durch einen leichten Versatz ins Innere vor Kratzern gut geschtzt und zeigt alle eingestellten Werte klar und deutlich an.
Die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut. Das Gehuse aus Aluminium und die verwendeten Materialien machen einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck. Ales lsst sich gut bedienen und ablesen. Sie ist kein Leichtgewicht, aber dafr wertig und robust. Die Akkukapazitt ist ausreichen dimensioniert und ber den USB Type C Anschluss kann die Ladung zeitgem erfolgen. Eine beiliegende Tasche schtzt die Lampe beim Transport.
Insgesamt bin ich vom Design, Verarbeitung, Helligkeit, Farbraum, Bedienung und Akkuleistung fr diesen Preis sehr angetan. Es gibt bisher nichts negatives zu berichten, daher berlege ich mir von dieser Leuchte noch eine zweite zuzulegen.
The light arrived well packaged. The instruction manual is clear but you will want to have the unit to explore the features as you read the manual. I especially like the metal arm on the bottom and the second cold shoe. You can mount the light and use the arm to position the light off-axis to manage reflections. I like the display on the rear of the unit because it is easier to work with.
I had a problem with the unit after 6 months. I contacted Rikon SZ and they immediately replace the unit. I was impressed! They replaced the old unit with a new unit. It arrived the next day.
This is the first review I have ever posted to Amazon. I received the first light a couple of weeks ago, then seeing how perfect it was for my needs, took delivery of the second one yesterday. They feel beautifully well made, flexible, in both the colors and intensity, and not having to track down a socket near where I need t shoot is a huge plus.
The little feedback screen on the back is maybe a little too small and cryptic when it comes to reading off the current state, but that’s my only real “con” in this.
Price wise I think its totally worth it. Its built like a tank got some nifty features like imitating lightning, police/ambulance, it is bi colored along with RGB color option. Love it so fa
Sehr solide Gehusegestaltung aus Aluminium. Falls man einmal eine farbige Hintergrundbeleuchtung bentigen sollte, wre diese LED-Leuchte empfehlenswert.
Allerdings ist die Einstellung, ber verschiedene Knpfe und Drehregler, etwas gewhnungsbedrftig. Aber alles wird dann hell und bunt.

Das Panel ist etwas grer als ein iphone 6 mit sehr guter Verarbeitungsqualitt im Alu-Gehuse. Unter den integrierten Schwenkarm lsst sich ein im Zubehr enthaltener neigungsfhiger Hotshoe zur Montage an der Kamera anschrauben, so dass man ein flexibles Videolicht hat. Aufgrund der schwergngigen Beweglichkeit des Schwenkarmes ist die Verstellbarkeit in verschd. Richtungen allerdings mhsam.
Der On/Off Schalter liegt plan im Gehuse und ist nur mit dem Fingernagel bedienbar.
Die unterschiedlichen Szenemodi wie Sirene, Kerzenlicht, Flash haben leider nur 2-3Farb-und Frequenzfolgevarationen und lassen sich von der Helligkeit stufenlos regulieren. Die RGB Farben sind in Farbe und Helligkeit stufenlos mit den Drehreglern einstellbar. Die Szenemodi und das Farbprofil ruft man ber 3 verschiedene im seitlichen Gehuse eingelassene Tasten ab, mit fr mein Empfinden uneindeutigen Definitionen, so dass man die Funktionen erst mit etwas Praxis nachvollziehen kann.
Auf der Rckseite des Gehuses zeigt ein kleines LCD-Display die aktuellen Einstellungen an.
Schade ist, dass man Farbprofile und Szenemodi nicht kombinieren und Einstellungen nicht speichern kann.
Die LEDs sind extrem hell, die kleinste Stufe 1von100 eignet sich schon als leichtes Stimmungslicht.
Der Akku ist bei Anwendung geringer Lichtleistung selbst nach Nutzung mehrerer Stunden an 2Tagen noch nicht erschpft.
Exactly as described. I bought this to fill in shadows for webcam conferences. I really couldn’t be happier. I’ve used the light for extended periods of time, both on cable and on battery. No issues with heat at all, it’s stayed quite cool to the touch. The controls are easy to use. My only dislike is the power slide switch, but it’s not “bad enough” to knock me off of a 5 star rating.
Fr mein YT Studio bentigte ich schon lange eine RGB LED Leuchte, aber die meisten Leuchten waren mir offen gesagt einfach zu teuer. Durch Zufall bin ich auf diese Leuchte gestoen und habe sie “auf gut Glck” einfach mal bestellt. Schon allein die Verpackung hat mich dann doch direkt berrascht. Alles wirkte hochwertig und nicht wie manchmal blich im Hinterhof zusammengeklppelt.
Die Lampe selbst ist ebenfalls sehr hochwertig verarbeitet und bietet eine mehr als ausreichende Leuchtleistung. Die Bedienung ist recht simpel und nach 1-2x Verwendungen hat man sein “Wunschlicht” fr die Aufnahme schnell konfiguriert. Ich die ganzen “Effekte” htte ich fr meinen Teil verzichten knnen, aber es ist eben ein nettes Gimmick. Gewnscht htte ich mir ggf. noch eine Streuscheibe aus Gummi.
Unter dem Strich kann ich die Lampe absolut empfehlen! Ich selbst werde mir sicherlich schon bald noch 2 weitere dieser Lampen fr mein Studio gnnen.
As a teacher, teaching remotely, I needed a functional, reliable, portable LED light to eliminate graininess, and improve virtual class meetings. This light worked perfectly. Received byhis product today. Ill be honest that I dont know a great deal about professional lighting but this has exceeded my every expectation. I needed a light to help me make home made gopro vlogs and this light is fantastic. Wish I wasnt on a budget right now as I would buy another one to use as a background light. Im Rahmen meiner hier gestellten Frage wurde mir erklrt, dass die Helligkeit auf Stufe 1 (von 100 Stufen) immer noch 10% Lichthelligkeit abbildet. Aus meiner Sicht macht es wenig Sinn, 100 Helligkeitsstufen zu ermglichen und der niedrigsten Stufe 1 immer noch 10% Helligkeit zu spendieren. Dann htte man auch bei Stufe 10 enden knnen. In dunkleren Rumen bzw. in Situationen, in welchen ich ein diffuseres Licht erzeugen mchte, finde ich die Videoleuchte daher zu hell.
Im Ergebnis ist diese Videoleuchte aber super (Verarbeitung / Gre / Mglichkeiten), so dass ich diese behalten werde.

Very well built, fine adjustment of color temp and brightness. great fell and look, the mounting is good but not super amazing, go buy a good shoe or gimble for yourself to use this with. but I would definitely recommend it, and have to several folks. cheers
I’m still fairly new to photography. I recently got into toy/lego photography and this light is a game changer. I’ve been using cheap LED lights and strips that I found at Big Lots….they aren’t BAD but they only offer cool, harsh light that you have you manipulate. This light makes everything make sense. It’s extremely easy to use even though it has many features. Fits in your pocket for on the go use. Mine has the buzz that some people are complaining about but I normally don’t shoot in dead silent environments so it’s really not that big of a deal. I can’t wait to see what this thing can do in abandoned buildings come fall. I may even pick up a second one just because.

I love these lights! I have a lot of plans for using them for photography and video lighting. They are very easy to use and I love the versatility of the included arm. I’ll update my review with images after I have more use with them in photography. I do wish they had an app for remotely controlling them but that’s nitpicking and I can’t really complain with the price to performance ratio. The build quality is solid and I’d definitely recommend these to my friends.
This is actually a very good light. It is very controllable and very bright and I have already used it for a couple of projects and it has improved the end result. The only thing I would say is I really like the light effects but the police flashing light is very much aimed at the American market as it is not correct for the UK. (In the UK it’s just flashing blue not red and blue) otherwise I am really happy with it. The overall build quality is very solid, the main on/off switch is the only switch that feels a little vague, but I have had no problems with it turning on or off so that’s ok. I was looking for similar lights that were a lot more expensive and to be honest I will probably buy a couple more of these instead.
Die Videoleuchte ist wie beschrieben. 2 Akkuladungen benutzt. Gleichmiges, helles Licht. Blau drfte etwas intensiver sein. Laut Piktogramm ldt der Akku nicht ganz voll, obwohl 100% Kapazitt. Ok, kann ich mit leben. Wertigkeit hoch. Die Leuchte wird vielen etwas zu dick sein, aber ich persnlich mag das. Mir gefllt die angebaute Halterung mit Zubehr. So ist man recht flexibel und sie lsst sich bei Bedarf abschrauben. Fr den Preis gibt es nichts Besseres.
I have watched numerous Zoom sessions, in which the face of the speaker is often dark or in shadows; You can see your own image at the top of the screen, and I wanted it to be brighter. This light satisfies this requirement. Two slight disadvantages: I had seen similar lights which attach to the back of a laptop; that would be very convenient. This one doesn’t have that but has a screw mechanism; I discovered that with some manipulation it fit my camera tripod, and this is satisfactory. The battery lasts only about a half an hour before it shuts off for a few minutes. To use it for a Zoom session lasting longer, its charge cord has to remain connected to the computer. I had to get an extension cord for this (from Amazon) before this was successful.

Die Bedienung ist recht einfach. Ich bentige aber nur Intensitt und Farbtemperatur. Das Bedienkonzept finde ich gut durchdacht.
Die verarbeitung ist top! Macht einen wertigen Eindruck.
Einzig der beiliegende Kugelkopf hlt bei mir nicht wirklich still, auch, wenn er arretiert ist, aber der ist eben obendrein noch dabei und hat meine Kaufentscheidung nicht beeinflut.
Grundstzlich eine sehr empfehlenswerte Leuchte, die meine Erwartungen bei weitem bertroffen hat. Wirklich ein bemerkenswertes Gert.

Only problem with it was the arm used to attach it to devices would unscrew itself and became loose when moved. However, a hex key soon tightened this up. The device should have been supplied with a hex key in my opinion but I happened to have one available.
Used it to light me during a Zoom meeting which worked well, was able to balance the light with the Kelvin adjustment.
Brighter than you think, very good quality and batter life, there is a very and I mean very small hiss to the light but nothing a microphone can hear.
The pictures in the reviews do not show the true potential of this light. Trust me, if your deciding on a pocket RGB at a decent price range, go with this one. You can thank me later. First off, hands down better than my Aputure MC in terms of brightness and color accuracy. However, it would be nice to have the magnetic feature like the Aputure, but that’s just personal preference. The color modes are cool, and the build quality is phenomenal. Diffusion is great for a led style panel which is rare and battery life is great.
I’ve been watching this style of RGBW light for awhile and was excited to see one at this price point. Well, I’ve used it a couple of times for video and once for a product shoot (all with an EOS R, RF 35 1.8, and EF 70-200 2.8 IS mk I) and I’m happy with it. I haven’t seen banding at any intensity (59.94 fps video, 320 – 1400 shutter on stills), it’s adequately bright (it’s not a 60W LED with a softbox, but come on, it’s tiny), and it’s reasonably easy to position. I do wish it had a little more versatility for propping it up with itself, as it were, rather than putting on a tripod/light stand/mic stand. But if feels well built and works very well for my purposes. I will eventually get one or two more.
Diese LED-Leuchte ist sehr leicht zu bedienen, weil sie dafr nicht vom Staiv abgebaut oder umgedreht werden muss. Die Bedienknpfe sind seitlich angebracht, so dass alle Vernderungen auf der Leuchtseite, also von vorne, erkennbar werden. Ich verwende sie als moblie Leuchte bei Makroaufnahmen, also auch im Wald, wenn kleine Objekte hinter- und durchtleuchtet werden sollen. Besonders rezivoll knnen dabei die Lichtfarben werden.
Die Richtungsverstellungen ergeben sich durch den Stativkopf und den Schwenkarm der Leuchte. Den kleinen beigefgten Kugelkopf und den Hotshoe brauche ich nicht, weil ich die Leuchte nicht auf die Kamera aufsetze. Das ergbe Schatten in Bereichen, in denen ich sie nicht haben mchte. Das Gehuse aus Aluminium macht einen sehr stabilen Eindruck, die Leuchte wird mit einem weichen Etui (im Umkarton) geliefert, was eine sichere Mitnahme vor Ort erlaubt und vor Kratzern schtzt. Als Portraitleuchte verwende ich sie nicht, dazu ist die Leuchtflche zu klein. Allenfalls als Schattenaufheller im Freien knnte ich mir sie noch vorstellen, habe das aber nicht getestet. Dazu wre der Schwenkarm zur seitlichen Montage neben der Kamera von Vorteil. Es gibt gnstigere Leuchten in Kunststoffgehusen mit externen Akkus, dafr aber mit greren Ausmaen besonders in der Strke und hheren Gewicht. Das muss nicht sein. Dann doch auf jeden Fall diese schlanke Pixel-LED-Leuchte. Die kauft man ein Mal und nicht erst nach einer Enttuschung mit einer fr 20 Euro.
This item came unexpectedly very nicely packaged. It also comes with a carrying bag. I haven’t used it a great deal since receiving but initially two white LED diodes were dead. I inquired about it through the email listed on the Q&A here on Amazon. The Seller was quick to respond. On top of that I received separate email checking on satisfaction, which I guess came from the Amazon sale. I explained what happened again and their response was pretty amazing. I received a replacement unit as soon they had new inventory.
The tiny attention to details and service already have me feeling good about putting my faith in this brand.
I purchased this because of it’s apparent compactness, sturdy build, color control and ability to dim from 0% to 100%. All criteria was met although the dimming percentage is not infinite because I wanted very dim lighting, it’s good enough.
Have used this for 2-3 weeks now and two things I immediately like about this is its amazing battery life and very controlled increments of light intensity.
Since the time it has arrived I have been very occasionally using it and haven’t changed it yet. Thanks to its great battery life. Moreover, the incremental increase of light is very evident, meaning I can remember the settings and have the same intensity, the color of the light always. The digital screen at the back is very useful.
The lantern mode is really useful and an additional bonus.
The only thing is that its a bit heavy and i worked around by mounting it on a rig cage rather than a camera body.
I love my Pixel G1s RGB Video Light. It is very bright and the battery life last for a long time, it also charges quick too. Item as described, even better that expected! A lot of options to play with. The material looks very resistant at touch. The box looks very professional. All the attachments are great. You will be very happy if you buy it. I had other lights and this one is definitely better. I recommend it 100%.
This is a very good, bright light. Versatile except the mounting to hot shoe base is not very firm. I tried to tighten up to the camera hot shoe but as you move around, the light kept swiveling regardless the position. Additionally if you using the mount with rotation head, the light moving around is more so and I’m afraid it might even falls off. May be the manufacture can improve their mounting design in future version?
Other than this, I’m happy with the purchase since I only use the light occasionally.
I’ve used this thing for only like 20-30 minutes and I absolutely love it. It’s small and feels solid and puts out incredible light… I am in love with the yellowish-orange hue on one end of the spectrum. Makes me want to get 4 of these and use them as lamps in the corners of my room (if you point them straight up at the ceiling it gives the whole room “warmth” that normal bulbs could not do). I haven’t had it on long enough to see how hot it gets so I’ll have to try that. Hopefully not too bad. I like how it fits in my back pocket of my jeans too… perfect fit so when I’m doing some random filmmaking and walking from A->B I can easily carry it around without tying up a hand.
I had read all the previous reviews of this product and that folks raved about it. However, until you get it in your hands, you don’t realize how well made this item actually is. The contruction is top notch and the lighting works really well. My only wish is that after power down, it would remember the last mode it was on and it doesn’t seem to work that way. It returns to the first mode…not a deal breaker since you can quickly just toggle into the alternate modes. Brightness is very decent for a device it’s size….overall a great little lighting rig.
I got this light to use for product shots for my YouTube channel. It has more than met my expectations for that job. It’s bright, easy to control, and very well built. I haven’t fully tested the battery life yet but it has been good so far. I can’t really think of any negatives so far. It also works well on top of a camera for vlog lighting and it’s more than bright enough for that.
I am pretty happy with this little light. It is quite bright, and charges quickly. Lately I’ve been using it as a light for videoconferences, which it is kinda overkill for. It does work well for photography though, which is why I got it. My only complaint is that the included ball-mount and cold shoe mount are not very good quality and not terribly stable, but those are pretty easy to replace. The light itself is terrific.

At first I was really impressed. The product is very well built and feels premium with its metal build.
But I must have received a defective unit as while the lights go on, the led remain off.
In their first outing, I had these lights running on battery and they started to go into overheat mode after about an hour. When in overheat, they will shut-down until they cool sufficiently and then power back on. This was pretty bad on a live stream. Fortunately, one useful feature of these lights is that they can run while plugged in/charging. I plugged them in and the overheating behavior only happened one more time. I can only assume therefore that the onboard battery causes a lot of heat when discharging and the form-factor just can’t deal with that plus the heat from the LEDs. Other than that, they worked quite well and did the job with good adjustability. I’d just recommend you keep them plugged in if you want to use them for any length of time.
I have been using this light for a couple weeks now and absolutely love everything about it.
The size is perfect. Fits easily in your bag or even a pocket.
Battery life is ample and USB-C charging is a nice feature.
Colors – Anywhere from options, scenes, to accuracy. No complains at all.

I’ve had a few of the little LED lights like this but this one is an a totally different level. The housing is made of metal, it has some weight to it and it feels very sturdy.
This little light is literally so bright (even not fully charged) that I can’t actually look directly at it when set to 100%.
The controls are nice and work great, the size is perfect and the effects and color temp changing is great.
Can’t say enough about how pleased I am with this purchase. I’ll probably be purchasing a few more of these in the future.
It is a good size with many lighting options (RGB and lighting effect for video). I am using this light for small product shoots so that I don’t have to setup the studio lighting. The swing arm is very useful to allow the light to be swiveled 360 , the arm also has a mount for a hot shoe and 1/4″ thread mounts to attach mic or to attach to a tripod or light stand.
I am quite satisfied with it and will be purchasing 2 more.

This is a very good fill, hair or practical effects light, and not a key (main) light. I’ve heard lots of complaints about brightness, and it’s bright enough for what it’s supposed to do. I got two of them, and I’ve only had it for a week or two now and it works. For the price I got it for, I thought it was a steal compared to similar products that are twice the price.
My first choice for an RGB light would be the Luxli Cello, but this will suffice till I can get the Cello.
Positiv:
– Ausdauernder Akku: der Akku hlt wirklich lang! Auf max. Helligkeit kommt man sehr nach an die 3 Stunden, die vom Hersteller angegeben sind ran.
– Geringe Bauhhe: dadurch, dass der Akku integriert ist, ist die Bauhhe sehr gering, weshalb man diese Leuchte an Pltzen montiert und hingestellt werden, die mit einem externen Akku nicht mglich sind.
– Quick Charge 3 Kompatible: die Ladezeit reduziert sich schon stark, wenn man ein QC3 kompatibles Aufladegert hat (bis zu 1 Stunde schnelleres Laden als mit einem normalen 1.5A Ladegert)
– USB Type C Anschluss: Deshalb muss ich keine zustzlichen Kabel mit mir herumschleppen und suchen, da bereits viele Gerte (Handy, Computer etc.) zu Hause bereits ein USB Type C Ladekabel haben.
– Mit Netzteil Betreiben: Man kann die Leuchte auch whrend des Ladevorganges in vollem Umfang benutzen. Wenn man diese an einer Powerbank frs Handy anschliet, kann sich die Laufzeit der Leuchte vervielfachen (je nach groe der Powerbank).
– Helligkeit: Das Licht ist wahnsinnig hell, dafr dass es nur eine kleine Leuchte ist. Klar kann es nicht mit einer LED COB Leuchte wie die Aputure 120d Mark 2 mithalten, aber dafr wurde sie auch nicht gemacht.
– Farbgenauigkeit: mit meinen anderen LED Leuchten, die jeweils einen CRI und TLCI von >97 konnte ich keine Farbverschiebungen oder Verflschungen bemerken, auch wenn die Farbtemperatur variiert wurde.
Die RGB Farbwiedergabe ist sehr gut und hell!
– Effekte: ich habe bisher keine LED Leuchte in diesem Preisrahmen gesehen, die mit eingebauten, sinnvollen Effekten ausgestattet ist und diese auch noch einstellbar sind.
– Befestigungsmglichkeiten: mit dem rotierenden Befestigungsarm, hat man nochmal deutlich mehr Flexibilitt was die Montage am Set angeht, als ein einfacher 1/4 Inch Gewindeloch.
Negativ:
– Eine Anbindung per Bluetooth oder Wifi fr das Handy oder Tablet wre wnschenswert gewesen, da die Montage manchmal an Orten sein muss, die danach nur schwer zugnglich ist, oder nur mit einem erheblichen Strung des Arbeitsablaufs stattfindet.
– Irgendeine Art von Barndoors oder hnliches direkt vom Hersteller, welche an diese Leuchte angepasst ist, wre wnschenswert, um die Lichtstreuung etwas besser kontrollieren zu knnen und somit noch mehr Kontrolle bei Aufbau und Dreh am Set. So muss man mit DIY Ideen Leben.
Ich benutze es als back light, hairlight, practicalight und als effectlight und in genau diesen Disziplinen kann die Leuchte auf ganzer Linie berzeugen. Klar gibt es noch Punkte, die Nice to have wren (siehe negative Punkte) aber das, was sie kann, macht sie richtig gut! Klare Kaufempfehlung!
Overall this is a great product. I will be using it to film my church pastor give weekly talks to the parish community. The lighting in the church does not do well enough for filming but this light works great. The level of hue adjustments really makes for excellent video recording. The sturdy housing assures me of its durability. I would have given it 5 stars all around if it weren’t for one thing; when charging, my battery level never shows fully charged when plugged in. I don’t know if that is intentional but I never know if I need to keep plugged when charging because the indicator never shows complete.
Except for that one thing I highly recommend this light. It is very easy to use and has many adjustable colors and brightness levels.
I ordered this light after shopping and reading for about a month. I was down to a choice of 3 with this one being one then the Falcon and a Boilin. The Falcon and the Boilin were both double the price but the features were almost identical. I went with this one for the price and boy did I make the best choice. Not to mention I went to a camera shop in my area that I was able to see the other 2 lights and see them function. I plugged it up and about 3 hours later, it was fully charged and ready to go. I do a few shots with it and they look amazing. If you’re an amateur or a professional, this light is a must have. The customer service is like none I’ve experienced. I 100% recommended this light and this company. They are the BEST.
Nach kurzem Test der Funktionen bin ich zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis. Die abrufbaren Lichteffekte knnen bei einer Familienfeier Diskothek-Stimmung ins Video bringen oder bei Aufnahmen zum Valentinstag Schmusestimmung. An den blichen kleinen Camcordern montiert ist der Set gerade noch handlich weil der eingebaute Akku ordentlich Gewicht mitbringt. Trotz gummierter Flche des Befestigungsrades (“kalte Schuhmutter”) ist eine gewisse Lose am Camcorder vorhanden. Die Aufnahme am Alu-Haltearm (Hot shoe bracket) fr das externe Mikrofon passt nicht, whrend die mitgelieferten Adapter perfekt passen. Der eingelassene EIN/AUS Schalter ist schlecht zu bedienen. Die Anleitung ist fr mich z.T. nur mit Lupe lesbar (Beschriftung der Komponenten-Zeichnung) und schwer verstndlich. Schade, denn im brigen sind die Verarbeitung und die verwendeten Materialien akzeptabel. Beim Mode HSI vermutete ich einen Defekt. Es liegt jedoch an der Werte-Einstellung. Steht S auf 0 gibt es keine Lichtnderung mit H 0-356. Zum Test ist S auf 100 zu stellen.
50000 Stunden Lebensdauer fr die LED ist ok, doch was ist mit dem Akku? Gibt es dafr Ersatz? Die Zeit das Gert zu entsorgen wenn der Akku seine Lebensdauer erfllt hat ist vorbei.
The only small con with this mini RGB video light is that it gets a little hot to the touch if set at 8500K at a full 100% brightness. I didn’t test out any other light output settings at 100% but I can only assume that it will also get hot at that level of brightness, whether at 2500K or any of the RGB hue settings at 100% brightness.
Eigentlich wollte ich keinen, aber jetzt bin ich froh, da er dran ist. Verdrehsicher, Blitzschuh-Fassung, 2 weitere 1/4″-Gewinde, Durchfhrung fr das USB-C Kabel.
Betrieb bei gleichzeitigem Anschluss an das Ladegert funktioniert, bis etwa 60% Helligkeit, ohne Entladung, bei 80 % kommt irgendwann die berhitzungsanzeige.
Bezieht sich auf ein normales Ladegert ohne QC, mit 950mA gemessenem Ladestrom.
Also auch gut als Leuchte fr zuhause verwendbar, immer vollgeladen und jederzeit bereit fr Skype&Co 😉
Bei 100% und ohne Ladestrom ebenfalls die Warnung, nach 30 min. ohne Wind und bei mehr als 25 Umgebungstemperatur. Passiert bei 48 an der Rckseite, vorne knapp 10 mehr. Bei 50 hinten wird abgeschaltet, bei 45 wieder eingeschaltet. So soll es sein.
Bei 22 Grad Zimmertemperatur oder geringer Luftbewegung keine berhitzung.
Die letzte Einstellung wird gespeichert, allerdings die letzte Wei-Einstellung (CCT), zusammen mit der Farbtemperatur. Sehr praktisch, weil man die Effekte oder die Farb-LEDs wohl eher selten einsetzt.
Sofortiges Einschalten mit dem Schiebeschalter auf der Oberseite. Welcher sehr flach ist, erfordert etwas Druck oder den Fingernagel, aber versehentliches Bettigen ausgeschlossen. Leuchten, bei denen es 3 Sekunden zum Einschalten braucht, nerven !
Flotte Helligkeits-Einstellung, wahlweise in 1%-Schritten mit dem oberen Drehrad oder ber den Taster in der Mitte des Rades in 20%-Schritten.
Ich habe bewusst keine Leuchte ausgesucht, bei der es qulend lange in 1%-Schritten bis zur passenden Helligkeit braucht !
Das Display ist ein wenig nach innen versetzt, was Verkratzen entgegenwirkt, auer bei direkter Sonneneinstrahlung immer gut ablesbar.
Eigentlich wollte ich keine RGB-Leuchte, wei mit whlbarer Farbtemperatur htte gereicht.
Aber, nichts passendes gefunden mit einem leistungsstarken Akku und da die Farbtemperatur weiter reicht mit 2500-8500, war auch ein Kaufargument. Besonders der Bereich unter 3000 Kelvin war mir wichtig, als Einschlaf-Leuchte 😉
Fr meine Osmo-Action immer dann im Einsatz, wenn ich viel Licht brauche und das hohe Gewicht nicht strt, z.B. am Gimbal, zusammen mit externem Mikrofon.
Ob 12 Watt und CRI 97 zutreffen, kann ich nicht prfen, Helligkeit und Lichtgte sind subjektiv einwandfrei.
1580 Lux bei 50cm, 430 Lux bei 100cm Abstand, gemessen und zusammen mit der Akkulaufzeit knnte das passen.
Fr leichtere Flle habe ich mir noch eine 70g-Leuchte beschafft, 3 s bis zum Einschalten, vorher noch die Standby-Funktion berwinden 🙁
Schafft gemessene 580 Lux (50cm), 150 (100cm) und selbst das reicht der Osmo-Action in den meisten Fllen aus, noch ohne Rauschen aber mit etwas blasseren Farben wie mit der Pixel, 3-fache Helligkeit ist eben doch besser.
Die 4 Schrauben hinten lassen vermuten, da es irgendwie mglich sein sollte, den Akku zu tauschen.
Contra: Nichts 🙂
The G1s is compact, has a reasonable battery life, and is powerful in terms of build quality and performance.
The first thing I noticed about the G1s upon picking it up is the premium heft and finish it bears. It won’t need much babying. The 3 buttons, 2 rings, and power-on switch present okay quality. The maneuverable hinge is strong and has 4 precise cutouts- 3 for mounting and 1 for charging via USB Type C.
The display uses icons that are easy to understand and it has a good brightness balance. I’ve been using the G1s at 60% brightness and I’m finding that the battery lasts about 2 hours. Because the G1s is modest in size and is charged by Type C, the battery life is acceptable.
The LEDs are bona fide. I find myself not wanting to go past 60% brightness because of how dominating the light source is. The color temperatures and hues are all great- the lighting effects programmed into the G1s are cool.

Bis jetzt habe ich fr farbige Beleuchtung immer einen weien LED-Strahler und Farbfilterfolien verwendet. Diese Lsung ist aber etwas umstndlich und nicht mehr Zeitgem.
Darum habe ich mir diese RGB-LED-Lampe gekauft.
Die Lampe hat ein Aluminiumgehuse und ist sehr gut Verarbeitet.
Es ist ein Akku eingebaut welcher schnell geladen ist und etwa 2,5 bis 3 Stunden durchhlt.
Zum Zubehr gehrt ein kleiner Kugelkopf, ein USB Ladekabel sowie eine Stofftasche.
Das RGB Licht verfgt ber eine durchdachte Bedienung und hat viele Funktionen.
Dank des verbauten Display auf der Rckseite hat man alle Einstellungen immer im Blick.

This RGB Video Light Phenomal so far! It’s a very thin and low profile. It’s very versatile for my needs. It comes with the DSLR stand so you can connect it to your DSLR/mirrorless camera on the hot shoe mount. The 2500k-8500k it’s very great for your money. At 2500k it’s very Warm and 8500k its a very ICY COOL white. Using the RGB colors is amazing, it’s very easy to use with all the colors that you possibly need. I haven’t really messed around with the different settings it offered yet, but I wouldn’t doubt they would be impressive. I’m glad it’s able to charge by USB-C because with my MacBook they both charge USB-C. Also, this can stand as a portable charger for anything if you have the right cable.
There are 150 Individual LEDs, 40 of them are WHITE Lights, 40 of them are WARM lights, and 70 of them are RGB Lights. These lights at 100% shine at 1500 Lumens. At full brightness and charge, it can last to 2 1/2 – 3 hours. But if you have it at 50% brightness it can last 5+ hours! It does take 2 hours to charge the device from 0-100%.
I highly recommend this device for the money! Very easy to use and the battery is long-lasting with the build quilty is premium. Id like to get more of these before the price goes up!
Was mir ebenfalls sehr gut gefallen hat ist die flexiblere Befestigungsmglichkeit womit man das Licht flexibler an seinem RIG anbauen kann.
Zwar knnte das Licht ruhig noch etwas heller sein, aber fr die perfekt Bedienung nehme ich gerne etwas weniger Helligkeit in Kauf, da es eh nur ein Akzentlicht bzw. Practical Light fr den Hintergrund sein soll.
This light is just what I was hoping for! I could tell right out of the box the quality of this light due to its comfortable, yet sturdy weight. It is very user-friendly and adjustable up to the exact detail. I love the wide array of colors and the fact that you can choose a cool or warm tone, or make the light as dim or as bright as you want. It’s rechargeable, compact and convenient for making professional videos or photography. You could easily set this up on top of a table or on your camera. It even has a strobe light effect which is really cool. Overall, I am very happy with this product!
Ok so how do i start with this light! It’s Awesome let me just sum it up. I’m a Youtuber that uploads weekly so lighting is very important when it comes to video making and recording so this portable light is perfect for me. Not to mention all of the different features this has (Police Car Lights, Ambulance Lights, Fire Truck Lights, Candle Light/Flicker, Flash) Not to mention the incredible versatility with the amount of brightness it can give off and having different options for each of the things I just listed. And I didn’t even start talking about the fact that this can do every color in the RAINBOW so it will match any scene you send at it, and trust me I tested it. I really recommend getting this light box if you are looking for a Portable Light Box. Best one I had in my years of using a camera and recording and i have been recording for over 6 years
After doing tons of research on which RGB light on the market would fit my needs (hybrid photo/video) without breaking the bank, I came across this beauty. I was skeptical at first, considering it is almost half the price of the Boling equivalent.
However, after testing the light, I’m astounded. The build quality is solid. The user interface is incredibly intuitive, never once had to look at the manual to figure out how the thing works. As well, the light has so many more options than anything else out there for the price point, it’s kinda unbelievableable. Now Its one thing to have RGB, but to provide saturation control and 360 degrees of color is just unheard of for under $100. Additionally, the CRI it very accurate on this product, and adjusting the Kelvin value is as simple as turning the knob.
The G1s also came with additional hardware so i could attach the light In any configuration imaginable. The extra provided mini ball head is a nice touch, considering I purchased one last month for $15 on it’s own, and pixel just throws that in with the light, what a steal! And to top it off, the unit was already fully charged when I got It in the mail!
If I could find one thing I would change about the light (albeit a minuscule gripe) I would like it to turn on in the same mode it was powered off in, although this is by no means a deal breaker.
With all things considered, I’m highly satisfied with my purchase and very impressed. I will indeed be purchasing a 2nd G1s to add to my arsenal! Highly recommended!
This little piece is unbelievably convenient. I was looking for a small, quality RGB light to use to quickly add color backgrounds for videos and photos. Like any light, I knew this was only going to work if the background was dark, and then lit it with this light; Having to pull the subject away and light them with the typical lighting. It’s worked just as I’d hoped! For me since this mostly acting as a back drop color light, it’s plenty of power. I also use this as a hair or fill light.
The color at 5600k is amazing. All the RGB colors look great.
This thing is solid! It’s made of aluminum, dials and buttons feel great, just all around a solid build!
Seriously, pick one up, at this price, before they realize what they have! I plan to pick another one up soon!
I’d give them five stars but one of the first two arrived dead and had to be replaced. The battery wouldn’t charge at all.
Quick update – due to the seemingly constant windstorms and fires we’ve had in CA in 2020 my power has been out at least 8 times. I set these to 5% and put them in a few different rooms and they run all night. Just great!
Build quality is on par with what I would picture higher end video lights being. This thing is solidly built. Full metal, tight tolerances, the works. All of the knobs and buttons have a satisfying feel to them too. Nothing is loose, and the oled screen + usb-c is a nice touch that feels futureproof.
As far as features go this took me a little bit to get used to. The middle button/knob controls 3 different banks of settings. The first is a standard video light with warm/cool transition. The second is picking any rgb color, and the third is for special effects. Things such as simulated lightning or a fake candle, stuff like that. Those little effects may seem dumb to professionals but for me they seem like they’ll come in handy as I explore the world of video and creativity. Not an every day type of feature, but a good thing to have in your back pocket.
Maybe I’ve been quarantined for the coronavirus for too long, but I really am enjoying this impulse buy… it’s been a nice thing to have and feels like it’s unlocked some creativity in me 😀 I’ve even been using it as a warm dimmable light to read at night before I go to sleep.
After reading the reviews I decided to buy 4 units and they arrived in perfect order. The simple dial and push selectors are the best in my opinion, as I don’t need to look at each of the buttons to set the function that I wanted in the dark, I can dial to the exact angle of the color wheel. Not to mention it is very bright, I can put all 4 units to a job with my camera gears together without adding a noticeable weight. The battery last over 2+ hours which is more than I need. If Pixel can supply a hard shell zip case would be wonderful. By the way, it is a bargain!!!
I was actually very surprised to see how bright this little thing could really get! The colors look great and accurate and it’s convenient that it’s using USB-C . The controls are pretty intuitive once you play around with it for a few minutes.
The colors look great and something I didn’t realize was the reference chart for the colors right on the back of the panel hahaha.
The metal base for the hotshoe was actually such a great idea to add for both maneuverability as well as versatility allowing you to add another accessory.
This panel really does a lot in a little though. I think if you’re looking for a small light that’s still quite powerful, then get this light. I feel like it’d be a really versatile tool in anyone’s gear set. I can’t wait to start using it for creative portraits!
One of the important thing to notice which is missing in other RGB lights in this price range is that – you can control the brightness in RGB mode as well, i.e. when you don’t want a lot of bright color (while using this light as back light), you can control that, which you will surely require in certain shooting situations.
Two more unique things is this light (compare to other light sin similar price point) are –
– It has Rotate Arm Cold Shoe and also comes with w ball mount adapter, so you can control the angle of the light in all the 3 axis. Also on that rotate arm, you can attach other equipments like – shotgun mic, etc.
– It has type-C charging port, which is quite good thing to charge fast.
Things to improve:
They can include a small defuser as well.
But on the price point, it’s kind of the best on camera light with RGB colors and very good CRI value.
I teach a video course at a high school and need a light to sit on top of the camera and hold a microphone at the same time. I need a light that’s easy to use, fun, and fairly unbreakable. I need a light that’s portable yet bright, without batteries so I’m not constantly replacing those. THIS IS THAT LIGHT!!! And by the way, it’s only about $15 bucks more than a light that doesn’t change colors or have a swing out hinge for adding to the top of my camera! Can’t say enough good stuff about this light and the students I work with love it! I just bought 5 more!!!
This light the same lighting features or better of lights costing 25% -100% more so it certainly has value for its price. It’s not magnetic and the mounting points are more limited. It is much lighter than the last light I purchased so on a phone set-up it’s just the right balance of weight to features. The unit has 12 special effects vs 9 for most, the lightning and candle effect is not as randomized as my last light but I dont see myself using those so it’s not an deal breaker for me. I would recommend this light as the price point is low enough that you could by two for the same price of one of the more known brands.
