Very satisfied with this purchase. The RGB is really nice. There’s lots of different effects that can be stacked on the other. The keys did take some getting used to since the keystroke is closer to the top meaning it doesn’t push down as much as other mechanical keyboards I guess that’s why the switch has speed in it. Easy enough to adjust to it and since it’s only 60% it doesn’t take as much space though it has a lot of different functions available with Fn.
Is acctualy a good quality keyboard and for that price is good
Amazing keyboard I love it there’s loads of light colours to choose from and the box comes with extra switches and keys which let me customise my keyboard. The wireless feature is very good and lasts for a long time I’ve yet to charge it would recommend this
The colours look very good
They also sent me a extra key caps set and 4 brown switches
I recommend this produc
Product arrived earlier than expected and it is a very good quality Mechanical Keyboard it’s not high end but it doesn’t pretend to be.
If you’re in for a mechanical keyboard but you’re on a budget, this one is definitely for you.
The seller was also kind enough to sent additional instructions for use and it’s an appreciated addition.
it is what it says on the tin,, good keyboard
Really nice keyboard. Well made, works well and lighting effects are really cool
This keyboard feels good. I bought a blue axis, which is very good for playing games or typing. In addition, a set of keycaps of different colours is included in the package, which can be replaced. In a word, this keyboard is a very good product.
I’m really fond of this keyboards looks, especially at the price.
I’ve found it to be a great addition to my office, even if 60% life is hard to adapt to.
It is significantly quieter than my previous cheapo mechanical keyboard but pleasing to type on. I occasionally make use of the Bluetooth function if I’m moving about with my work laptop and that works well, though I usually leave it wired to the KVM, which will cause it switch to Bluetooth mode and confuse me once in a while but only when it’s been switched to the laptop port when it’s disconnected.
Battery life is fine for my usage but that’s been a rare day in the office so I can’t attest to using it like that all the time.
The software for control is ok, it’ll do but nothing to get excited about either.
To look at it’s a very pleasing article and feels more premium than a lot of keyboards in this price range.
Great little keyboard.
backlights can be changed with app (Newmen GM610)
Comes with a second set of keycaps so you can mix up the colours a bi
Great keyboard, build quality is amazing, RGB lights work well with lots of options, connectivity is very easy and the option to switch keys is great. However, even with brown switches it’s very very loud and a little bit squeaky when typing, for this reason I decided to return and go back to a membrane keyboard. If you’re not worried about the noise then this is a great choice!
I have never heard of the Newmen before so I was initially sceptical about the product.
I can safely say that this one was a risk worth taking.
For the price, it cannot be beat. The keyboard is very sturdy with no flex, has a nice weight to it and the keys are very easy to type with. It doesn’t feel cheap. It has a lot of features that are controlled with the function key and it’s a nice touch that it included an extra set of keycaps, extra switches and keycap pullers.
It worked right out of the box and I even paired it with my Samsung S20 which had no trouble connecting to it. Definitely recommend if you want a mini keyboard and don’t want to pay Razer or Ducky prices.
My first 60% keyboard experience, its been alright only sometimes I reach for the numpad that isn’t there. Not tried the Bluetooth option since my PC doesn’t have it, USB C wired has been responsive.
I should remove a star because those red keycaps as others have shown do bleed light. But I opted not to use them and went with the blue/white theme with the spare set of keycaps. What was also interesting is it comes with spare switches too! Pretty cool that the switches can also be modular, will be looking into testing some others with this board!
Lovely keyboard, well constructed comes with a full set of key caps.
I’ve used Bluetooth mode and wired mode with 0 issues with either. I’ve found that this keyboard has an incredibly long battery life and rarely have to charge it, even when it comes to charging it’s quick with the included USB-C cable. Side note is that it’s also got amazing build quality and pretty much 0 flex.
Good value for money and built very well. Very nice packaging too
Good keyboard for gaming and typing, been using it for a few months now and its only ran out of charge 3 times, i plug it in alot of the time but im impressed!
Its a shame that you cant turn off the RGB entirely.
Good all round but when getting new switches they bend get stuck and even break
I’m new to mechanical keyboards and I wanted a keyboard for my home office. I have to say it is a pleasure to work with. I’m really liking the retro themed keycaps and the brown switches feel really nice. The Bluetooth is also really quick when switching devices and saves a whole lot of plugging out and in to laptops.
We bought two of these – both developed the same problem within days of one another after we had them for about 3 weeks, which rendered them useluss because the Fn key was locked on and we couldn’t find out how to switch it off. I posted a 1 star review.
We have now found that pressing Fn+right shift key will restore the factory settings, so we are back in business.
If you want a compact gaming keyboard with fancy lights, this is good value for money. Just beware that the manual isn’t very good!
BTW, the manufacturer was very responsive and helpful over this issue, and they have not requested that I revise my original 1 star review, I have done that of my own volition. Fair’s fair, after all!
I appreciate they give you a set of secondary key caps to layout whatever customs you want. I think this is a great choice for anyone starting out on 60% keyboards. The Bluetooth feature works fairly well and effortless.
It does the job well enough for gaming, low desk footprint, good selection of RGB options, extra set of keys is really nice to have, so the option to customise is there out if the box. Not a bad place to start if venturing into the rabbit hole that is mechanical keyboards. Happy with mine for the price I paid
Unfortunately with iOS works differently then I expected, but still is a very good keyboard.
its nice sound with red switches but sometimes it glitches out but its easy to fix
Although every key can be programmed, and you can record as many macros as you like, only 12 macros can actually be assigned to the keys. When I first got this keyboard, I drew up a dream list of macros and started recording them… I got as far as recording about 30 (things like “align object to top of slide” in PowerPoint for example). However, when I tried to save the macros to individual keys, the software started crashing. I contacted the manufacturer and they replied that only 12 macros can be saved to the keys. I would like to return it but I have customized the keys with spray paint and markers to identify the macros. There may be a work-around as you can save lots of profiles (I have got up to four so far). Each profile can have unique lighting for each individual key, unique programmable key strokes and (I hope) unique Macros (12 per profile?). This means that when using my Photoshop profile, I can have 12 macros, then swap to my PowerPoint profile with it’s 12 macros, and jump to my Premiere profile, with its 12 macros. Of course (facepalm) you have to launch the software to change profiles! On the up side, having 49 shortcuts and 12 macros per profile is not bad value for money, but why not allow more than 12? It’s not as if the keyboard has 12 *designated*macro keys! Any key can lauch a macro, so it would make sense to have up to 61 macros!!! Anyway, Newman should include this limitation in the description (I have asked them to)
This is a great keyboard, and really good value for the money. Really surprised me and found it very sturdy. Infact I rate it better than the premium 150 plus branded ones. Only issue is that curser keys can only be activated by pressing another button at the same time.
So, everything in the description holds up. I’m very happy with it, specially at the price. Some caveats though. I can hear a squeaky spring with every key press (i got the brown ones), I believe this is not a thing with this type of keyboards. You get grey and red on modifier and “major” side keys; white and dark blue on the others. The red keys keys bleed the light a bit too much, and on the blue ones, the light is less visible in the dark in comparison with the white keys, but still good. On day light, turn off the led lights of the white keys, so you can actually read them.
Major negative: the software. Don’t bother installing. You need to be wired and with Bluetooth off every time you turn your pc. And the keyboard won’t save settings you change on it. You need to apply them through the software at every windows startup. Having said that you can set every individual key to their own colour (no automatic use on program launch or anything like that though).
Another major one. The amount of silly light modes is absurd. I need to go through them all to cycle just between a solid colour and turn them off. And there’s a few modes that start with lights off
If anyone knows how to delete some light modes or make the keyboard remember custom ones, please comment/review.
I had the red swtitches,
Great keyboard the feel of typing is amazing I did not expect 4 extra switches and a extra keycaps set, switching bewtween bluetooth devices and wired mode is very simple great quality, The included braided cable is also great, all in all this is q great keyboard for the price did not expect as high quality as received. Thank you!
I HIGHLY recommend this product, I’m not a bot who is saying this for you to buy this product trust me, this keyboard is nice but beware it is American layout, I got a sharpe and wrote the extra symbols in, the rgb lighting is really good.
I broke my ducky so I got this for 31. You get 2 sets of keycaps. 4 extra switches, keycap and switch puller and a 1meter usb type c braided cable. The hotswap board is only compatible with OUTEMU switches. The tab button will always be red or blue (wired or wireless) and cannot be changed. The software allows for rgb config and your generic macro and keybind changes and thats about it. To unscrew the pcb from case you need a small HEX screwdriver. I saw some grease/lube in the switches so that’s a bonus.
My mods: I did a tape and foam mod with o-rings and a new set thick premium pbc of keycaps. Sounds great. I also got the brown switches; brown outemu>brown cherry.
verdict: for this price you cannot complain. if you spend another 30 on a better keycap and some of the follow mods you completely change and bring life to this board. good buy.
I am a sucker for a good keyboard, I currently have 7. Most were far more expensive h=than the GM610, (I’m looking at you Durgod Fusion)
You can either read to the bottom and then order this board or you can just order it now, its highly recommended.
I won’t lie, I bought the blue switch version expecting it to be not very good, but I was was wrong, in fact I’m very impressed. A bluetooth/wired mechanical keyboard, with RGB lighting and two sets of keycaps for this price? A massive bargain. Throw in the swappable switches too, at this price? And at this quality? Unbelievable.
I am a Mac user, and sadly there is no Mac software. But if you download and use https://karabiner-elements.pqrs.org it will remap the keys for you, so I now have Multimedia keys and all keys back where they should be for a UK Keyboard.
Pairing is easy, its a slight pain having to hit the combo (right FN Left Control )to get arrow keys & FN keys l then hit it again to get back to the normal keyboard layer, but you adapt.
The RGB lighting is good and providing you give the battery a good overnight charge before first use, you will be amazed how long it lasts, even with lighting on.
Tactile feel is good, blue is very clicky (as normal) brown is much quieter, I have placed O rings on the letter keys which damps them slightly.
Build quality is excellent and I suspect these GK/SK61 clones are all made in the same factory.
Overall, I am impressed and find myself using these keyboards a lot.
If only the manufacturers produced a Mac software app and included Command/Option Keycaps they would be onto a massive winner with Mac Owners.
This is a brilliantly built easy to use piece of kit. Everything you’d expect and more. The software is easy to install (it’s on the Newmen Website and you’ll need to open a .rar archive) but other than that the simple instructions are all you need. This is a quality budget keyboard. Perfect build quality and looks great too!
Bought this for my son so he can play Fortnite on his gaming PC. Haven’t seen him since so the keyboard must be very good?! But we can definatley hear him when he’s on his Mic to all his friends.
It’s really good for the price has it for a month and the Bluetooth still works great. The only thing that is a slight con is that the battery indicator is not accurate. When it says it’s at 100 percent, it isn’t. Charge for another 30 min after that.
Yes by definition it is hot swappable, but all of the left pin holes are too thin for most switches, they do work, but it bends all all of your left pins on the switch, but yes it works, just bends your replacement switches
I usually don’t bother with these sorts of keyboards or “gaming” keyboards as I have custom boards. But I was interesting to see how this performed.
Build is solid, plastic case to allow for the BT connection. But still felt solid. It also comes with another set of keycaps for a good level of customisation, which considering the price of this board is pretty respectable!
If you want to use this for gaming DO NOT use the BT connection as there is some latency input, which is to be expected with BT.
Sound (if you are interested in that). Horrible, very pingy due to the plate material, harsh bottom out of switches. Only saving grace is that the stabalisers seemed to be pre lubed which made them better than bare bones stock but still they could be made better.
Amazing keyboard , my son is more than happy with i
Purchased for my grandson who is thrilled to bits with this. He says it’s extremely good!
Couldn’t really ask for a better keyboard for the price, fully customisable macros and keystrokes as well as being able to assign whatever could you want to every individual key on the board. Set some of the Function keys to things like opening google, spotify, email etc and then gave one its own colour for added convenience. Just a great keyboard for the price.
If you’re a weirdo like me and like clicky-clacky keyboards, but also like a deal, this is the one for you.
Couple of things I’ve noticed are, the keys are very good except for the spacebar which occasionally double spaces.
There’s also a variety of options for colours, if that’s you’re thing.
I should say, I, and if you buy this you, miss the arrow keys. You can second function them, but I do miss having a solid up down left right key.
I love that the keycaps are customisable, I’ve set mine up with contrast WASD for gaming!
The keys are wonderful, definitely what you’d expect from proper red switches,
The keyboard is compact, relatively heavy and sturdy as all heck.
The colour customisations are a good way to keep yourself entertained at work on a long teams call, it has so many different settings,
The size is amazing! Really easy to take on the commute and set up on the desk at work, battery lasts over a week on the 9-5, wonderful value for money
This is a good introduction keyboard to modding, I personally went with brown switches and they feel nice, defo will upgrade in the future.
You can also go to the Newmen website and download the software for the GM610 and the software is easy to use but It did crash on me, it was also sketchy because the website was unsecure.
Problem I found with keyboard is that the key puller is not great and it scratched the keys when I pulled on them, also this might of been my mistake but I thought the main keys were white but they have more of a yellowish tint.
Fantastic gaming keyboard that’s responsive and super easy to set up.
I reviewed this keyboard with my daughter in mind, but actually, I am finding it great for me to type with, too. In fact, I am writing this review on it!
The backlighting is beautiful, and it really comes into its own in darker conditions.
The keyboard is responsive and perfect for gaming, but also great to type on – something I don’t usually find.
Overall, an exceptional experience for us.
This review is for the Mechanical Gaming Keyboard NEWMEN GM610 Wired & Wireless Mechanical Keyboard 60% Hotswap 61 Keys Anti-Ghosting with Extra Keycap Set,RGB Backlit,Programmable for Windows/Mac/Android(Blue Switch)
Big fan of this keyboard, I personally prefer the mechanical keyboard rather than the standard ones. This keyboard is well made and easy to connect up. It looks great, especially in the dark. Would defo recommend, product arrived well packaged and on time.
I love this keyboard it is so easy to type in and love the lights too.
Is is more for gaming than anything else
Looks good quality too and hopefully will last long
Wired & Wireless: NEWMEN GM610 support type C-USB and bluetooth 3.0 + bluetooth 5.0 interface. You have the ability to connect up to 3 different devices under wireless mode and switch among them easily.
RGB Backlit — There are a total of 20 chroma backlit effects. You can also customize your one- of-a-kind RGB effect, or just turn it off.
Compact Design Mechanical Keyboard:With all unnecessary keys
I wanted a compact keyboard and found this GM610 seemed ideal. I am using it with my android box running emulators and old games on the lounge TV, so the idea of a compact mechanical action keyboard seemed logical. The connectivity on the unit is awesome. All done through a USB-C port or Bluetooth it just worked and even catered for several different devices to be paired which can be a pain on some accessories. The keyboard was hugely configurable and included additional key caps so you could remove and customise with the included tool. Theres a huge amount of configurations on the LED side of things and some really eye catching and visually stunning.
This keyboard came well packaged and was delivered quickly. It looks quite different to other ones that I and my son have used since it’s white, and we have only tried black ones, it is also smaller. It has 61 keys and is wireless so it will be really easy to set up and start using. I was really excited to set it up and start using it.
This keyboard is quite compact, and all the keys are quite close together. It does have LED-backlit lights, but they don’t show that much since the keyboard is white. The keys are very clicky which I like, and they are sturdy and high quality. I love the fact you get a whole new set of keycaps which is really great so you can customize your keyboard to whatever you like.
Overall, this is a nice keyboard that is much cheaper than others, and the quality is good but if you are a professional gamer then I recommend you get a different one, however, if you just have gaming as a hobby then this is a good alternative at a high price of 49.99.
I do really like the look and feel of this keyboard. I personally got the white red and blue aesthetic and enjoyed changing the coloured keycaps to suit what I wanted out of it. I got the blue keycap version of the keyboard because it was the only one available at the time but I would definitely opt for the blacks or red. Although the click was really crisps and a nice addition at first, It became very irritating for those around me and silent nights gaming are just not possible. However it is hotswappable. I am planning on getting some gateron blacks or yellows for it and think it will add to the keyboard well and will also become less annoying and loud.
This feels like a portable keyboard as such because it’s so small however it performs adequately and has plenty of features to be expected from a gaming keyboard. I’m probably a bit late submitting this review however I did want to test this keyboard with a variety of games over a week to get the full feel of the thing and at 49.99, I’m happy to recommend it and here’s why:
Hot swappable
Anti-ghosting
Record & assign macros
Downloadable software interface
Customisable RGB
Wireless or wired
Recommended!
You don’t need any software or drivers to use this straight away, be it wireless using BT 5.0 or wired, using the enclosed USB-C cable. Set up is quick, just follow manual for BT connection.
In use it’s very good, I would say the key stroke it higher than say the Blackwidow V3, response and full on gaming is rather cool. This is comfortable to use, in fact very enjoyable when in gaming, the keys are tolerable however I do prefer very loud clicking keys and these sort of don’t do it for me, with the game blasting through the speakers I still like to hear the clicks!
The spare set of keys is good, allows you to customise where necessary, key tool is included.
Good RGB effects, more so with the blue keys. I would encourage you to download the software to enjoy further customisation, as stated in the bullet points above, this is macro friendly!!!!
In wireless mode, it performs well however I also prefer wired keyboards when gaming, every micro second counts in my opinion but that’s just a personal preference!
So overall, it’s a good gaming keyboard and also rather cool for general typing, note the initial US style keyboard layout, though you can change that.
If you are concerned about the battery level whilst gaming, the FN key changes colour giving you advance notice allowing you to connect up the USB lead.
Recommended!
This keyboard is simply a gamers dream, being a gamer on the pc you need something cool and efficient since spending a good amount of money on the pc you wouldn’t want to back out of a good keyboard. This particular keyboard has many different functions for example you can swap the keys to make it more of individual style, you can also preset the rgb colours so to your choice. I am simply in love with it you really have to own it to experience it.
My son gave this keyboard a good test as the resident gamer in the house. Its a good quality keyboard and is perfect for gaming, with all the relevant keys needed. You can swap and change the keys so its more suitable for gaming, and it comes with spare keys and a key remover tool. The keyboard is sturdy and makes the “click and clacking” sound that a mechanical keyboard does. It also lights up and you can customise how you want the lights set, if any at all. Its good value for money, having seen similar keyboards cost much more. My son is very happy with it.
Mechanical Gaming Keyboard NEWMEN GM610 60% Wireless Mechanical Keyboard
I ordered this for my daughter, who likes gaming. She finds it more tactile, durable, and faster than a member keyboard. However, she appreciates the smaller footprint, portability, and lower price of a membrane keyboard, so having a hybrid is still better.
This mechanical keyboard gives her accuracy and efficiency in typing and gaming. It is durable, ergonomic, and suitable to stand up even during marathon gaming. It’s compact as it is tkl, and wireless, so she finds it convenient to use.
This is a really versatile keyboard, being both wireless and wired, or for windows, mac or android, it’s really well made, at this price point it’s better than I was expecting, in use, it’s responsive with a nice positive keystroke with fast response, more than good enough for my fps gaming, easy to clean and even comes with a spare set of caps and full RGB control, all in all, a really good gaming or typing keyboard, highly recommended to all.
Whilst advertised as a gaming keyboard, I ordered this primarily as a device to turn my iPad (and to a lesser degree my smartphone) into a sort of laptop for significant amounts of word processing.
Well, I’m happy to report that with both my Andriod and iOS device, the Bluetooth pairing was effortless.
The action of the keys is very positive and so much easier than trying to use a virtual keyboard – especially with big fat fingers like mine.
I did notice a slight delay between hitting the key and the letter appearing but, unless you’re a super-fast touch-typist, that is unlikely to be much of a problem.
The keyboard is surprisingly heavy and the mechanism feels good.
I’m quite happy with the default retro grey and red appearance and probably won’t bother with the alternative keyset.
Overall, it certainly meets my expectations and the currently advertised price is not unreasonable.
I must admit I am not a habitual gamer, and the main reason I got this keyboard was because I needed a shorter-than-normal keyboard that could fit into my tiny desk space. So while I can’t comment on the usefulness of the keyboard for gaming, I can say that it has definitely met my needs!
For starters, I find myself taken with the retro look. The keyboard comes with an alternative set of darker-coloured keys and tools for changing them, but I am loving the grey colour scheme of the default keys. The keys also make an immensely satisfying sound when I type, although I am a lone worker and the sound could possibly be annoying for anyone working in the same room as the keyboard user. The keyboard also comes with a funky set of backlight modes, although I’ve opted for the simple “key glows red when hit” option.
You have the option of using the keyboard wire or Bluetooth to connect with your computer; I’ve opted for the wire (which has a nice silvery fabric sheath and is of reasonable length) because that’s what I’m used to. One thing that is annoying is the keyboard will often switch back to Bluetooth mode when the computer goes to sleep or turns off, and I have to switch it back to wired mode; this is quickly done by pressing/holding down two keys, but I wish there was a manual switch on the back that could be used to keep the keyboard in wired setting if preferred. The keyboard also clearly draws some power even after turning the computer off (as it displays different lights when switching to Bluetooth), although presumably a minimal amount of power.
The keyboard does take some getting used to if you’ve only used standard keyboards before; for example, there is no separate Delete key, only Backspace, and the arrow keys have been sacrificed for other default functions (e.g. the Up arrow is used for / or ?); I haven’t yet worked out how to make the actual arrow keys work… that aside, I very much recommend holding onto the little instruction booklet that comes with the keyboard, as this contains key commands such as switching between wired/Bluetooth mode.
On the whole, this keyboard is practical, and looks/feels awesome!
Since this arrived it has been given a good testing by my son who is a regular gamer and this review takes into account his comments as well as some of my observations as I give them a go as well. My first impression is it is has a nice solid sturdy feel to it and feels well made. It looks good and it is compact. Smaller than the usual keyboard so ideal if you don’t have a lot of room. The back lighting looks great. I liked the feel of it when using it. My son was impressed. He says it has a good feel to it and the pre-sets are good. He would though not swap it for his Logitech keyboards which are both bigger and more a lot more expensive which he says are better. He says it is maybe for the newer less experienced gamer or infrequent (which would include me!) but he would be more than happy to use it. It worked well. He tried it using Bluetooth and found it made no difference whether it was wired or on Bluetooth. It also easily lasted 2 gaming sessions and is still going strong so it lasts a good time on wireless. The pluses are it is well made. It is compact. It can be used wirelessly. It looks good and it is good value. A good value for money gaming keyboard.
This is a nicely made keyboard with effective illumination options and a pleasantly positive key feel.
The compact size is both an advantage and a disadvantage because it makes the keyboard very practical on a small surface but the lack of a numeric pad limits the keyboards potential for serious gaming. Nonetheless, for a dual wired/wireless keyboard this is a good choice.
This is a fabulous little keyboard, it is more compact than I am used to as there is no separate numeric pad to one side. The numbers are on the F keys.
The keyboard is weightier as well, this gives it a good balance while using. It is a Bluetooth board that can also be used as a wired board. I do like this feature as it means I can use and charge at my desk in wired mode, or detach and use the Bluetooth connection when sat further away.
The board is backlit and there are various other features that are explained in the instructions about when it is charged, swapping from wired to Bluetooth. The individual keys can be swapped out and there is a handy tool included to enable you to do this easier. Also, a couple of clips that the keys slot into incase you get a bit heavy-handed.
I am not up on the tech specs side so all I can do is explain why I like this board. The compact design means limited movement during gaming and it is not too cumbersome. I really like it and the features that it comes with. It was easy to set up and you can just plug and play. I would have preferred a little more detail with the instructions.
A good keyboard that I would recommend.
This keyboard built with compact size and fashion lights. Easy to set up and use. Works well with my gaming PC. Long use time with wireless. Happy with this purchase.
The keyboard is great quality and has amazing rgb presets
When I received the keyboard, I couldn’t wait to open the exquisite packaging. The keyboard shaft sounds delicate and pleasant, and it is not very miscellaneous. The keys feel good quality, balance and stability, no matter when playing games or entering documents, finger sensory enjoyment is an extreme experience. This is the one that cannot be missed
