Pet Gear PG9300DR Tri-fold Pet Ramp, Black/Grey, X-Large
Overview
There are many different types of ramps. The most common designs are bi-fold, tri-fold and free-standing. Ramps can also have different surface materials such as grip tape (with or without reflective markings) or carpet.
Why choose a free-standing
Free-standing ramps do not need to be attached to a vehicle and are an excellent choice for large dogs as they can support extra weight without excess wobbling or bending.
Why choose a carpeted ramp
Carpeting is great choice for pets with long nails, providing them with an extra gripping surface. It is gentle on your pet’s paws as well as the inside of your vehicle when the ramp is being stored. The carpet tread is removable and washable for easy cleaning.
Why choose a reflective ramp
Reflective ramps provide extra safety when loading and unloading your pet. The high contrast markings also aid in guiding your pet up and down the ramp.

I've traveled all over the country with this ramp, my pooch and my 4runner. it's a bit heavier than other ramps but much more reliable. I duct taped the bottom 2 together to make it easier for in and out. I'm convinced this is extending and improving the quality of my pups life & what's the value of that?

I drive for a wonderful trucking company that lets me bring my best buddy with me, not easy to pick up a 85 pound lab into a semi rig, so i looked at all the fold out ladder types and ran across this ramp, it folds up and stows right in front of the passenger seat in my 2019 international.

Perfect for dogs of all sizes
Excellent, if a little on the heavy side for more elderly people
Sturdy and strong but heavy and awkward
Overall I recommend this for bigger dogs. Our giant breed uses this to get in/out our car. It weighs over 10kg and is quite awkward to move about, the rough surface can also damage the car seats and gets dirty easily (hard to clean). It does the job well though so I think it is worth the money.
Very study, quite heavy but only good for rear of SUV entry. Does not fit if you want your pet to gain access to seat behind driver. 🙁

Good Ramp I would Definetaly buy again even with the negative reviews I read. The ramp is nice and wide and sturdy. When I say sturdy, I mean it does not bend down when my Cattle dog goes up it. She is 65 lbs and a little spooky at times. At first try the graphite coating she did not like and would not go near it again. When I folded it up the graphite was a bit rough on my hands also. I loved everything about this ramp except the graphite. So I got some Easy grip shelf/drawer liner and taped that on the ramp squares. The graphite helps to hold the liner onto the ramp and good on dry or wet days. No sliding or skidding of the paws. Little heavier to carry then the other ramps but I think the sturdiness is safety for my pup. GOOD RAMP ! WOOF!

Solid Pet Ramp
I would definitely recommend this ramp again. It is wide enough for me to walk up; the friction tape still holds up without catching too much dirt or detritus; finally it’s definitely lasted, over four years in the Phoenix sun and heat is amazing.
I’m a disabled vet with a 100 lb Lab/Pit mix as a service dog; I also drive a lifted 2017 Jeep Wrangler in Phoenix, AZ. This ramp has lasted for over four years in the Phoenix sun and heat with my service dog using the ramp from several times a week to several times daily! After four years of constant use it is finally wearing down, with cracks forming under the lower hinge and on one corner I tend to drag when I load/unload it.
Heavy to carry and attach to ca
I liked the ramp but it’s very heavy for me to carry in snd out of car and to assemble onto car. Also my dog refused to go up it. She insisted on jumping across it.
Works great, the dogs took to it right away. It's a little bulky as it tri folds which makes it take up a lot of room.

I would have preferred a more soft or porous material for the walking pad. Dog wants to put her nails down for traction and when she does her feet skips out from under her sometimes. The grit paper does not work as well as I would have liked it to work. Coming out of surgery her leg slipped off the ramp on the side of her surgery. I had to take her back in to be checked. It takes some training for her to be comfortable with going up and down the ramp. Even now three weeks after surgery, she is reluctant to go up and down without hesitation. Over all, it helps. I cannot lift 80 pounds of dog.

Works good. Goes good to my back truck floorboard he walks up and jumps in the back seat. A little awkward and bends a little bit but he is 120 lbs and got used to it in minutes. So glad I went with the loner ramp the extra foot makes a huge difference.

I bought this to help me put my foldable mobility scooter into the back of my small SUV. the scooter weights 50 pounds, and it just a bit too heavy for me to lift. This ramp was a life-saver. I just put it up against the back of my car, and stand next to the ramp while I roll my scooter into the car. Most pet ramps are too narrow, but this one works perfectly. The cost was reasonable and the ramp is easy to manage.

Solid and takes the dogs weight extreamly well
Weighs an absolute ton but built like a brick wall doesn’t bow with 35kg dog on it .. The surface is great for maintaining the dogs nails but not so great for car interiors if you need to put it on the back seat like we have to due to the size of our dogs who fill the boot.. Also great at trapping fingers but sturdy.. Really needs a transport bag
I bought this for my lab who is nearly 14. I decided to get this longer version so that the slope wouldn’t be as steep as with shorter versions. However, because of its sturdiness, it’s very heavy for me to use on my own (I’m a retired woman). I find lifting it in and out of the car quite a strain, but not as bad as trying to lift my lab into the boot! The non-slip surface is like coarse sandpaper and it’s not very pleasant, but I put a towel over it and the dog willwalk up it and into the boot with a little encouragement and a firm hand on his collar or lead. I’m glad I didn’t go for a narrower version. For bigger dogs, this is definitely fit for purpose. I have a standard 5-door Fiesta and the lip of the ramp fits firmly on the bumper. I don’t need to use the strap.
This ramp is almost perfect. I bought it because it is wider than most ramps I saw on line. My 40 lb Finnish Spitz is 13 1/2 and I know his vision is not the greatest now. This way he has more width to negotiate the ramp. My only complaint, hence the 4 stars vs 5, is the sandpaper like surface. I tried the ramp at a friend’s house from the first step down from the landing to the ground. My dog started down the steepness and couldn’t grip it so he sort of hopped to the side at the bottom and fell over. (weak legs at this point). So that same day I went to Home Depot and just bought a section of the grey indoor outdoor carpet, cut 3 pieces and glued them down with Gorilla glue. Voila! MUCH better. I then tried the ramp back at my house on a very gentle front step, and he had no problem. So he is much more used to it now and I will once again try it at my friend’s house, since that is who cares for him when I am gone sometimes. So I would highly recommend the product but would also HIGHLY recommend covering the grit like surface. The dogs just can’t grip the ramp. And I am sure it doesn’t feel very good on their feet. And the carpet costs all of about $5 to $10.
I bought this because my dog had knee surgery and couldn’t use the stairs or jump in/out of the car. I chose this one because it was a tad wider and longer than most, providing extra security. The surface is kind of sandpapery but not too rough, it folds and stores easily, and it’s not too heavy. It was a Godsend for my dog’s recovery. She is 50 lbs and it bowed very slightly when she walked in the middle, so you might consider that if your dog is much heavier.

It is very sturdy and convenient to store. It is just a little bit heavy for an average person.

This item is good for a Chevy Tahoe, as it is longer than other ramps on the market, which makes it easier for larger dogs to use (we have a big and tall, 100 pound, 11 year old Lab). As with other reviews, I ended up peeling off the anti-slip contact paper and placing peal-and-stick indoor/outdoor carpeting on the ramp. Our Lab has long nails and it was hard for him to gain traction on the anti-slip contact paper. It took 2 days of training for him to use the ramp, but now he is a pro at using it. Training consisted of: First, walking on the ramp on the Livingroom floor – treats; 2nd using the ramp on the deck steps – treats; and then using it on the Tahoe – treats. He is motivated by treats….
Not had chance to use it yet but seems ideal.
Haven’t actually used it yet, but seems very robust and well constructed.
Beware of the non slip surface, will take skin off fingers in a heartbeat.
Not good for big dogs
For a big dog you need 2 people to steady them into the car as it’s very steep…. if I had realised this I would not have bought it … as I’m on my ow
Quality well buil
This ramp is quality built , the surface anti slip great as is well thought out like doesn’t have a sandpaper grip surface hasnridges for a dog to grip and hold. My only issue was because I am disabled it was too heavy for me.’an able bodied person I’m sure will manage easily and the product will last many years.
This is a chunk of a ramp.
It’s heavy, bulky and awkward to unfold, especially if it’s windy. If the ground was muddy you would still have to rest corners on the ground while opening it.
The grippy surface is sand paper like, so if you slide it out of the car with it rubbing on something it will sand the surface of that off, car interior, tent bag etc.
The rubber on the top end grip well enough on the car so it hasn’t slipped yet.
It still flexes, so having persuaded our 45kg Boxer to get on it he is still nervous because it moves under him.
But I think it is too big for the back of our Landcruiser if we need to carry anything else. Even cutting one third off and propping it on a folding stoll would work as well. Moulded plastic just ends up being bigger than something maybe made of aluminium but not as costly.
So if you can carry, manage and store it, it’s a good buy.
Works well for dogs
Works well for dogs , a bit too heavy for my liking but at least dogs don’t struggle to get to the car.
sturdy
its a little bigger than i thought, a little heavy but under-standable as it is very strong and sturdy
Wish I’d bought this years ago , I’ve half hearted looking for a ramp for my 12 st dog for awhile,
but the ones I’ve seen didn’t look that strong. My dog has always been athletic and jumped in and
Out of my van with no problems, but last week really struggling fast how quick things can change.
I can’t recommend this product enough, wish I’d found it years ago , anyone who got a big dog knows
The trouble finding anything suitable for them , this fits the bill highly recommended.
Sturdy Ramp for Larger Dogs
I struggled to find a robust simple to use ramp that would be suitable for my larger heavy dog. I ordered this ramp and it came and i was not disappointed. There was no assembly of parts and the build quality was good. I tired it on the car and the dog loved it.
I would say it is fairly bulky when folded which is not a problem for me however if you have a small car it may take up most of the room or need placing on the back seat.
Definitely for big dogs. I wouldn’t recommend for a small dog, unless you have more than one that like to walk down at the same time. 🙂
Liked:
1. Steady for my 10 year old 120 lb Chocolate Lab/Great Dane to walk up and down.
2. Non-skid surface allowed for something his nails to dig into to keep him from slipping off
3. Perfect length for our midsize SUV (Jeep Grand Cherokee)
4. Seems to be of very good quality (we’ve only used it once on a 20 hour road trip after we realized it was too hard for our old boy to get in and out of the SUV.)
Disliked:
1. When unfolding, nothing to stop it from pinching your fingers.
2. Heavy for me – not for my husband – I basically had to let it fall to keep from pinching my fingers – worth its weight and a few pinched fingers, however, for the ease it gives my old boy.
3. Very rough surface – think nail file – nonskid surface okay for my old boy’s nails? Someone suggested putting the stick-on outdoor carpet squares. I believe that would be perfect. (heading over to the search to HD to pick some up!)
4. I’m not sure why, but my husband felt the need to tie it down with straps. We had lots of stuff sliding around back in the cargo area so maybe it was a way to keep it from sliding into our boy who took up the entire back of the SUV with the luggage?
An excellent reliable ramp
It is sturdy and my ageing dog is not afraid to use it as it doesn’t wobble and the rough surface is easy
for him to grip. It has really helped his painful joints. However it is very big and takes up a lot of space in the boot and it is also heavy. Good value though.
Secure and safe for a German Shepherd
It’s wide enough for my elderly dog to feel safe climbing.
Brilliant for large breed dogs
We have a large breed dog and we looked at others but they didn’t seem strong enough, so glad we picked this one it’s very easy to assemble and very sturdy once in place.
Perfect size to make my dog feel confident to use i
This is a great ramp and at a good price. I’d tried other ramps before buying this one but all were too short and not wide enough to hive my dog the comfort he needed. I use this for my GSD who has arthritis to more safely get into my Discovery Sport. The length allows for a gradual slope and the width has meant he’s confident to use it. It is a chunky piece of equipment but does fold up to a reasonable size so it can be stored in the boot still giving him plenty of room (I bungee cord it to the chair rests so it sits upright against the back of the boot). The only down side is that it is a very scratchy material – basically sand paper and so could benefit from a cover to avoid scratching his paws and my hands.
Overall, I like my tri-fold ramp. I have a large 110 pound German Shepherd and a 80 pound Belgium Shepherd, and I trust this ramp to carry their weight. Even when they fly into my truck on the bounce. I also like the no slip surfacing. Originally I didn't think it was worth noting, but I've come to appreciate it being there. The reason I gave this ramp 4 out of 5 Stars is because it is slightly awkward and a twitch heavy. No heavier than stated in the specs, but it would be great if it was designed a little lighter and less awkward... but then that could just be me. The up shot is, I would definitely recommend this ramp to a fellow dog love

So easy to use. Very happy
Fantastic! I love this, it is so easy for my dog to use, it is wide enough that his legs don’t slip off the sides. The textured surface ensures he doesn’t slip ( in all honesty I would have preferred a carpet type surface but he is happy enough to walk up it). It is easy to put into position and sturdy enough for my 40kg Rott/GS/Staffie X who has rheumatism and cancer. I still have to coax him on with a treat but he doesn’t seem scared of it like the last wooden one we had which smashed under his weight. Weight wise it is a teeny bit heavy for me getting it in and out of the car but hubby manages it perfectly well. Happy with the size it folds down to really manageable. Well worth the price I paid. Quick delivery as well. Would recommend 100 %
Solid Ramp
Bought for a boating holiday to ensure my Labrador could get on/off safely. Good sturdy ramp. Needed encouragement initially to use as wary but after a few goes with being forced to use it, was using it herself without hesitation. A little on the heavy side and bulky but that’s what probably makes it sturdy and did not give when she is on it. My lab is nearly 40 kg. Happy with purchase and looks like it will last.
Great and sturdy
Great ramp for my 2 x 45kg large breed retrievers, but it’s vey big and bulky so when both dogs are in the boot, no space to put the ramp i
Wide and sturdy.
I was a bit nervous about whether my elderly GSD would deign to use thus. Slight hesitation but then no problems. Sturdy enough for her to feel stable. Bit on the bulky and heavy side for handling and fitting in the car but the sturdiness is what you need for a 35kg dog.
Grea
Really pleased and great value. Bought for me 36KG GSD for info.
Very strong
Does the job but is a tad on the heavy side. Our dog soon got used to it.
Excellent item!
I bought this for my Rav 4 to help me get my 4 month old labrador in and out for road trips, it is brilliant! So easy to use and light enough to undo and put onto the back of the car. Hugo soon learnt how to use it. The surface is rough which means he does not slip. Would recommend to anyone looking for a dog ramp. :
Sturdy produc
Easy to use. Could not get my old dog in the car without i
Robust and dog feels safe
Bought this for elderly Belgian Malinois who has bad hips. it fits to my Range Rover perfectly and the dog is happy going up and down the ramp. Very sturdy and compact when folded. Very impressed and would recommend
Got this for a RV and two Great Danes. This attaches perfectly to the top stair step on the RV. The giant dogs test the limits of this ramp but no problems yet. Only issue was the non skid surface. After 4 years the dog nails have ripped the center of the ramp away. I repainted with truck bed liner. It was disappointingly easy to remove the old surface. Now it's better than new. Only negative with the bed liner is it gets hot in the sun. Should have used a lighter color.

Lovely
Looks sturdy little heavy but not used yet dogs are sniffing it getting used to it firs
Sturdy ramp, but a bit cumbersome.
Folds up nicely, the surface has a great grip on it, feels very sturdy. The latch on the side is quite convenient as it is easy to lock up and keeps the ramp quite secure for lifting in and out of the car. It is quite heavy (less so than my Bernese mountain dog) so it is a bit difficult to manoeuvre. The most difficult part of this ramp is unfolding it and getting it in to place. It is not a quick and simple process and requires holding the door open to get it in to place which leaves a long window of time for the dog to try and jump out on his own.
Not the most convenient setup, but safer than having my dog jump in and out of my truck.
I like the size it folds down to and the non-skid surface. I have to put it up with one hand while holding my x-large dog with the other which is awkward but I am very happy with the product overall.

Helpful ramp
Brought to get disability scooter into boot of car
Very useful and avoids having to lift i
This has been a lifesaver. Our 30kg border collie is now very old and struggled with jumping into the boot and the constant lifting of her wasn’t good for her or us! This is easy to carry, fold and set up. Have used it with a land rover, volvo estate and seat leon, means we can easily use it on any car.
Excellent quality and value
Bought this for our 38kg Golden Retreiver. We have a large 4×4 and had not found a suitable long and sturdy ramp until we came across this one.
First time we took him out he was straight up the ramp and the same coming out of the car. Great piece of kit and worth spending the money o
pet ramp
it flexis a bit when my golden retriever walks up it, and the none slip surface has started to wear off already. But my dog is happy to walk up it .
Does the job for my 40kg dogs
It works pretty well but it does not fold up small and the outer surface when folded is the rough side so you need to buy a bag to protect your car interior.
Sturdy ramp for heavy dogs
Great ramp for my older large dogs. Easy to open possibly need room behind car.
Sandpaper treads very rough but good grip
Bought this to use in my slide-in truck camper to allow the dogs to reach the bed. Managed to get both dogs to use the ramp within the first couple days, as others have said it’s a matter of introducing this slowly. This holds my 100lb mix breed girl and my 130+lb Lab no problem (one at a time of course), and the width of the deck is great for the wider-framed dogs. The sandpaper-type material covering the ramp is effective, but I’m unsure of how well this will hold up over time. I’m sure it could be easily repaired if necessary. Plastic ramp frame folds up to approx 2’x3′, so is relatively easy to carry, but I will mention that even at a plastic frame, this thing still weighs in at almost 30 lbs. However, this is worth what we spent on it, and I would likely buy it again.
Strong and sturdy for our ageing Rottweile
As other reviewers have said, the sandpaper-like coating will quickly remove the skin from your knuckles. But I bought three carpet tiles and stuck one on each panel – problem solved, and it’s nicer for the dog too.
It’s also very steep when placed on the rear of our Honda CRV. So I use a two-step moulded horse mounting block too, with the ramp balanced (it’s secure) on the top step. This means it’s just a small step up into the boot, which our dog can manage just fine. Without the mounting block he struggles. So the rear seats of the car are filled with the mounting block and the ramp, but who cares, when the dog is happy?
It took a while to persuade our dog to use it – and you can’t make a Rottweiler do something he doesn’t want to do! So I set the ramp up flat in our hallway for a week, using bits of sausage to persuade him to walk along it. Once he was happy I raised one end with sturdy books, so he got a feel for the slight bouncing effect. And it worked very well – he’s delighted to go up the ramp now, as he knows he can join us on our outings.
Brilliant product, which has given our dog a new lease of life – he’s far too heavy to lift into the car, so this is the perfect solution!
Very good product but not suitable for my requirements.
Well made but far too heavy for me to assemble. And my car had no storage space for it. Ideal for 4×4 type cars. Purchased purely for dog who was recovering from operation but she wouldn’t use it.
Ramp
This product is a nice bit of kit, excellent for our doberman who weighs 50kg
It works! My 10 year old 100lb shepherd didn’t have any problems using this for the first time. He was a little hesitant at first and going down was easier than going up but overall it did what it is meant to do and helped get him in and our of my suv without jumping. (I just guided him by his collar up and down a few times to get him accustomed to it. It is not “compact”, it’s actually a little cumbersome but its also pretty sturdy and i bought extra wide knowing it would take up more room but allow for him to feel more comfortable walking on it...and he did... I would recommend it to other large dog owners

A good solid ramp that my dog feels safe on.
A little heavy but the ramp is solid and easy to put up/take down. My Lab was using it within minutes, with the help of lots of treats and praise. It seems bulky but actually sits in the boot secured by a bungy, plenty of room for the dog still. When we have his friends over, it goes behind the front seat but covered with a towel as the surface is quite rough against the upholstery.
E’ solida, robusta, rivestita in materiale antiscivolo e come gi detto bella larga.
A bit heavy
Sturdy fit for purpose although a bit heavy and awkward to store.
Does the job
Heavy duty ramp claims OK to 200lbs. Our Great Dane weighs in at 180 lb / 80 kilos & it takes his weight well. No problem training to use & has saved him jumping & impacting his shoulders. Non slip surface. Chunky device that takes up car space when folded but expected. Prompt delivery. Recommended.
I needed something to use at the caravan as my weimerana is starting to struggle on her back legs, so it was difficult for her on the steps. NO PROBLEMS for her ant more she took to it very fas
Sturdy, easy to use
We have a 50kilo Akita with arthritis, this ramp doesn’t give a fraction. Extremely sturdy, easy to use. Downside it is a bit cumbersome to carry round on the back seats. Could do with a bag for when not in use.
My 10 year old golden retriever tore her CCL so was on strict limited activity and is scheduled for surgery this week. Getting her back and forth to the vets was problematic as she’s 30kg and not a fan of being picked up. This has been a life saver. It took about five minutes for her to figure out how to use it (encouraged with some high value treats) but she now patiently waits for me to get it set up for her. It was a bit fiddly to fold and unfold but we have it down to a fine science. It’s pretty heavy but manageable and very sturdy. Wish we had bought this years ago.
It works but very big
It takes up a lot of room in the car when folded up. Also I can be a hassle to set up in public to get the dogs out. For me it not great but for others, it might be. Ive given it 4 starts because it is a good product and can hold a heavy dog. Mine is a Newfoundland.
Nice and sturdy, my lab weighs 40kg and its fine for him. Due to recent surgery needed alternative to him jumping in / out of estate car. Good grip on walking surface so he doesn’t slip. Trained him at first on flat to get used to walking on surface, is a bit like sandpaper. Accepted it well. Is quite heavy and has handle and clip to keep it closed. Would like a cover as putting it on rear seats when dog in rear “boot” area of car might mean scratching leather seats. Would like option to also buy cover. Has carabinar attached to strap to secure ramp to car, i hold my dog on harness to ensure he doesnt slip or jump off.
I really like this ramp! My Rottweiler is 8 years old, and has a hard time getting around. This ramp easily unfolds and attaches to the back of my Chevy Equinox. I have to lead my dog up and down the ramp by holding his collar, but he has never had a problem. I was worried after reading other reviews of the grip on the ramp, but It has worked fine for us. This is really a lifesaver for us as we can no longer lift our dog in and out of the car. I would purchase again! 4 Stars due to the size- It is bulky and hard to store in the vehicle on trips, but i'm not sure there is really a way around that .

A good buy for a heavy dog
I have an 11 month old Bernese Mountain Dog who took to using this immediately. Relatively easy to open and close but is a bit heavy and a lot bigger than I was expecting. I am not too impressed that on the first practise the dog’s claws scratched the ramp however.
Excellent for the larger dog
I had been looking for a ramp for a while and this one is just right for my 8 mth old Newfoundland who is 50kg at present with a lot more growing to do . It saves his joints and my back win win ! It’s very sturdy and wide enough that he feels confident on it . It is fairly heavy and obviously takes up room in the car but couldn’t be easier to unfold and put away .
