Although pricey, I absolutely love this product. Effortlessly scoops away poop and keeps away smells. I do think the odour control is mainly due to the petsafe cat litter (best litter out there) but this is still brilliant. I’ve seen some negative reviews showing poop smeared all through the tray. As long as your cat is doing solid waste this product is great. However, if there is something runny, it really does make a mess. But that’s not the products fault. I use the reusable litter tray with liners and the bags of litter. Seems to work better than the disposable trays. One bag lasts 7 days for my 2 cats, and I give the litter a mix every few days so that clean litter isn’t scooped away all the time. If there is a mess on the rake it’s not the most pleasant thing to clean (would be good if rake was detachable) but it gets done with some anti bac spray and kitchen towel. Fab product, worth the investment if you hate cleaning litter trays. If this is too much money for you, definitely buy the litter, the best out there by far.
The best money spent! Absolutely changed my life and routine.
Before that I used clumping litter sand in a normal tray, and although it helps with odours still needs to be checked constantly every day more than once a day. And after little more than a week I was already smelling a bit of odours. Especially if I forgot to check it a day. Being very busy it was tough and annoying but since I bought this amazing scoop free litter tray everything is much easier. I don’t have to remember anything as it does everything on its own, I only move the crystals with a scoop every now and then. They absorb instantly and no smell at all. I manage to make it last for 20 days making a little effort, removing every 4/5 days the poo from the compartment, so I can use it for longer. Nobody can tell I have a cat until they see him! That’s absolutely amazing.
Super happy with purchase!! Recommend 100%.
This a surprisingly good! Doesn’t smell and cleans itself… it’s a no brainer if you work a lot and want to make sure your kitty’s litter tray doesn’t get dirty. They hate dirty litter trays and when I’d forget/didn’t have time to clean it, I’d feel awful. I now just set a reminder for every 3 to 4 weeks and change the tray after giving the body a quick wipe down. Super easy.
I’m so pleased with this. I didn’t think it would work so well based on some of the reviews. But it’s easy, smell-free and the cat loves it. The replacement trays are pricy but I’ve found I can get over 30 ‘goes’ in each tray so they last a while.
It’s easy to set up and works like a dream. No odour and no mess to see each time you walk past. My mate (cat)! Took to it right away and it’s so good not having to clean daily or weekly, I do personally clean solids! Out weekly but that’s it guys. Totally recommend this
So easy to put together. I have two kittens and I can go a week before changing the tray out. The rake does miss some smaller bits and now and again things get stuck to the rake itself…but this takes minimal effort to remove and the crystals really harden and dehydrate the poops which makes removing bits easy. I’ve tended to the tray twice in a whole week. My kittens are 3 months old and love the tray. They started using it straight away without any issues at all. I have purchased the reusable tray for 55 as it seemed morr cost effective. I also bought a cheaper crystal litter on amazon that is meant to be just as good or even better for a much lower cost. I’m very very happy with this tray and litter!!
I have 2 cats. So easy now. No more cleaning everyday.
Absolutely brilliant I wish i had brought this years ago. Amazing!!!
***(UPDATE)
The problem was the hood. As soon as I’ve removed it my cat was more than happy to go and she seems glad that no longer need to touch her stuff while going toilet. Now she can stares at the mechanism freely and is even playful with it, she’s no longer scared! SO MAKE SURE YOU ADAPT THE NEW LITTER LIKE THE ONE YOUR CAT WAS USED TO BEFORE***
The idea is great. However, if your cat get easily scared, don’t get it. My cat started from being curious to being horrified-I guess she’s afraid of become cat mince due to the mechanism-. Now she refuses to use it, luckily I left the old litter next to just in case. If your cat it’s confident, then I think can be a great purchase to made.
I was skeptical about claims the scoopfree litter would last a month but it really does (for a young female cat). I do clear out the poop area once a week, could probably leave it longer but it’s no bother. Great to be able to go away for a few days and know it’s taking care of itself so cat-sitters coming in don’t have to do anything to it. I got the reusable tray too which has cut down on costs. Can see how you could choose to use it with a clumping litter if you were happy to top up/empty more often. Overall very pleased for the price.
What an amazing product. Our cat is an indoor cat and this has reduced smells dramatically. She took to this new cat litter quite quickly. Not having to clean the cat litter as often is another great feature it cleans itself quite often and we would recommend this to anybody.
Since i have bought this, it has made very easy for me. Sometimes poo gets stuck in between those grill thingy but little cleaning up and removing few hand full of gravel and all good to go. It does help with odour. I have ordered separate plastic tray and gravel bag so it works out cheaper for me. Those ready tray with gravel can be expensive. I have two cats so i need to changed once a week.
This stopped my cat from Shyting and pis*ing on my floor great buy
Is a bit pricey and tray needs replaced well before the blurb states so not sure if it’s worth buying
First of all, the item was easy to assemble, although the section in the cardboard box for the power source was empty, all the parts were in.
Once I set it up, I put a little bit of dirty cat litter in amongst the clean crystals, and placed my kittens inside the tray without the cover/lid on top so they became instantly familiar and recognised it as their toilet. Part of the week I have 3 kittens, but most of the time it’s just 2. As they are still young, they are eating often, and so they need to use the tray often. I’m very impressed by the machine overall, and I noticed that the kitties preferred to use the same spot on the litter tray. This area quickly became saturated, so I raked around, mixing up the very wet litter with the dry. Be careful if you do this, try to ensure you don’t puncture or heavily scratch the cardboard tray, as the plastic coating on the inside is what’s stopping the urine from soaking through. The manufacturer recommends using the cardboard cover (for when you dispose of the tray) underneath the tray with the cat litter in. This is an extra layer that prevents leakage. I put in a piece of aluminium foil in there as a precaution.
After reading other reviews I knew that a months usage for 1 cat was far too optimistic, so I was under no illusions. One of the kittens once had a bit of a loose poop, unfortunately I had the machine set to rake/scoop after 5 minutes, which was a problem. The rake passed through the slop, whereas if I had set it to 20 minutes, the silica cat litter would have dried out the mess, and effectively cleared it away. With gloves on I wiped the rake with a couple of disposable wipes, and we were back to normal. Some of the time I keep the plastic cover off the tray, this is so that it airs out, and gives the silica litter a chance to dry out. Every couple of days, I open the flap at the front, and remove the solid waste. I realise you might be thinking “well that defeats the object!” but I’ve gone from having to scoop out 4 to 6 times a day, to every 2 or 3 days. I used an old spatula to remove the heavily saturated litter, and popped a cup full back in to the area that I’d taken it out. I then stir up the cat litter. Imagine being able to leave your 2 cats in the house for a week? You can definitely do that if you have this machine. (If you have automatic feeders and a water fountain, or a person to pop in and feed them) Think of the freedom this machine could give you, or the money it will save you not having to take your cats to a kennel, while you pop away for a few days!
I’ve always been a bit obsessive about the cat litter tray – so for me, being able to leave the cleaning to once a week was totally worth spending the money. If you don’t let the cardboard tray become saturated, you can empty out the wet/soiled litter, wipe out the tray and replace it with fresh litter. This saves a considerable amount of money by not requiring a new tray each time. I’m currently searching for a ‘forever tray’, but until I find one, I’ll continue completely replacing the litter weekly as I am, checking the condition of the tray to ensure it’s not scratched or punctured. Don’t expect miracles and think this will last a month, but use your good/common sense and keep your eye on things, and this machine will be worth it’s weight in gold. Your cats will thank you, and you’ll be able to spend your valuable time instead with your cats on your knee. I love this machine, it’s a life changer. As I previously said, although I remove the solids every few days (my choice) I’d be happy to leave a clean fresh tray being used by 2 kittens unattended for a week. (To clarify, I mean the tray would be unattended, not the kittens!)
If you can’t afford the disposable trays, you could use a reasonable quality NON CLUMPING cat litter, as long as you put in 1.5 to 2 inches deep. Just make sure it’s non clumping as the rake pushes all solid waste into the covered poop section.
You can see in the pictures that I’ve mixed silicate cat litter with non clumping (I had to use up remaining litter from before I got the machine) and it’s working beautifully so far.
I was nervous about spending so much money after reading very mixed reviews, but I love this machine, I just wish I’d bought one sooner!
Best buy I have made. So handy especially when I had to go into hospital
Really pleased with this product, easy to assemble with just one main unit plugged in and sits on top of tray with crystals – it cleverly scoops the poo after designated time (we choose 20mins setting). Poo is auto taken into it’s own hidden section which is great scent wise, but you do have to hold and open flap to get to it which can be tricky one-handed – but apart from that all round decent item.
I have had the product for two weeks and only had to clean out the tray once. What a great invention, easy to assemble (without reading the instructions !), my cat does his business daily in the tray on the crystals and the little automatic rake comes into action, pushing the poo and wet clumps into the little box at the end which miracuously opens and self closes by a magnet once the poo is inside the box. The box is sealed by the magnetic flap and seals the smells therein.
The only downside is when you empty the box. You put the lid on the box to dispose of, but when you place it in a plastic bag the lid comes off and the odour emenates from the open box with two weeks of poo!!! An addition to the box of a little catch to keep the box lid shut and to seal the poo and smell is needed.
I will use tape in future to save smelling the stench of two weeks of poos, it would be good for the manufacturer to incorporate a lock/catch for the lid included for the price of the boxes. One little tip, if the poo gets stuck on the rake (if the poos is loose) use a q-tip – easily removes it within seconds.
Overall a great product just needs a little refining, very happy with the product. Excellent invention, keeps the litter tray clean and tidy and lessens the smells and the daily chore of cleaning out the liter tray.
It arrived without litter bag, so I had to buy it separately. To start with electrical was not working, then sensor was not detecting cat and I had to activate it manually. Was going to return when it stat working ok. So far so good, although, cat worry about moving parts every time they go in they are nervous. Also, litter crystals making crinkling noise when cats do their business and get stuck to their paws – cats tend to jump out of this construction as soon as they can! I hopped they will used to it soon, but in the end had to return..
Cat maintenance isn’t always so easy. Some months back I made life easier for both me and my cat with automatic feeders. I wondered if I should take the “lazy” route here too. Litter’s messy. It can stink up your whole home if you’re not careful. I was dubious when I heard of this device. It sounded too good to be true.
But yet, it’s working great. It took my cat a couple of weeks to make the full switch but I encouraged him by keeping the old tray there with it and eventually taking it away. At first he was super-curious and kinda cautious about the moving parts but now it’s second nature to him.
This box cleans itself incredibly well. When the crap is pushed to the compartment it is completely out of view. The same can be said of the smell too. I’ll admit that initially you’ll smell the cat’s waste but once it’s cleaned that just disappears. You can gradually work towards having the cleaning take place five minutes or so after your kitty is done. By default it’ll take twenty or thirty (I forgot) minutes which really isn’t so bad. You will notice the colour of the blue crystals become tinted from urine but it’s not so bad and you don’t smell a thing. Maybe it’s slightly unsightly, but nowhere close to how bad a normal litter box can quickly look.
The disposable trays have so far lasted the advertised length of time. It varies from cat to cat. Obviously, there is the elephant in the room: the price. You get what you pay for. The convenience and peace of mind that’s come from this purchase has made it worth every penny. I don’t even have to think about cleaning his mess anymore until the tray switch after a month or so that doesn’t have me touch the litter at all and only takes a few minutes.
A really really small amount of the blue crystals can spill onto your carpet which can easily be vacuumed. Compare that with the last litter I tried. My little rascal was kicking that stuff everywhere.
Consider me converted because this is absolutely worth the price.
