The lock works, just make sure the magnet is always at the bottom of cats neck because it mas to be very close to the locking mechanism for it to engage and unlock. It was easy to install and fits fine: always measure twice to make sure!
Dopo alcune perplessit, l’ho comprato ed installato.
Ho bloccato il magnete sul fondo con del nastro adesivo ed ho introdotto la ciotola del cibo in modo che il gatto seguisse la mano e l’ho fatto per circa una settimana.
Ad uscire il gatto non ha mai avuto problemi.
Dopo pochi giorni ho messo il cibo dietro la porta senza far vedere al gatto come facessi: stato sufficiente spingere il gatto verso la porticina (e poi indicargliela) e in quattro giorni ha capito che doveva spingere con la testa.
Al quinto giorno non ha avuto pi avuto bisogno di alcun suggerimento: all’orario si fiondato dentro senza problemi.
Il problema che adesso ha perso il collarino e, quindi, il magnete: consiglio di tenere almeno un collarino ed un paio di magneti di ricambio.

Had it for about a month and so far its been amazing and put a stop to other cats regularly coming in to my house, eating my wee cats food and making her nervous! It was easy to install too.

My 3rd one of these. Works well but one of our cats refuses to wear a collar, forces his way through so breaks it every couple of years. Good product overall.

I purchased this as the existing cat flap in our door was letting a draught in from outside. I didn’t want anything too expensive as we don’t have a cat but wanted to stop the draught.
Being able to pick this up for 5 was an absolute bargain and cheaper than boarding up the broken cat flap.

Va muy bien. Mi gato entendi como utilizarla muy rpido. El mecanismo es sencillo y fiable. No requiere pilas no electricidad y viene con todo lo necesario para la instalacin.
Works well. Bought to replace a same make non-magnetic model of the same size and fitted inside 5 mins as openings and fixings were in the same place and of the same size. Unfortunately the old flap was fitted the wrong way around. We figured it out eventually but the instructions could have made it clearer.

Mi gato la usa bastante tard un da en aprender a empujar la puerta, y puede entrar y salir sin problemas.
La usamos porque tenamos el arenero adentro y ya con la puerta podemos tenerlo afuera en el patio trasero y el gato sale a hacer sus necesidades y regresa cuando quiere. La puerta tambien funciona muy bien para no dejar entrar otros animales ya que ofrece muy buena resostencia si no traen el collar.
Very good. It took our cat less than a day to adjust to a new flap mechanism. It ended a problem of unwanted visitors kept all other cats and FOXES outside.

We have the microchip cat flap. It works perfectly for our 2 cats. If there is ever a problem with the flap not closing properly and other cats getting in the house then refer to ‘Lock Return Time – 5 Beeps’ on p17 of the manual. The factory setting for the cat’s microchip to be recognised is 4 seconds. However, if you have a particularly timid cat, or if your cat is frequently chased by other cats, the lock return time can be lengthened or shortened. We lengthened the lock return time and the problem was immediately solved.

Wir haben die Klappe nun 5 Tage in Gebrauch und erst dachte ich da passt unser Kater nie durch, aber er kommt gut durch.Mein Kater hat sich erst schwer getan,da die Klappe mit etwas Widerstand ffnet, aber der Drang nach drauen war gross, und er hat es dann kapiert. Ich muss dazu schreiben, wir haben die Klappe verkehrt herum eingebaut, da unser anderen Katzen nicht raus sollen.Das raus ging schon besser, das rein, damit hat er sich dann doch schwerer getan. Habe es dann mit Leckerlis probiert, da er aber stndig gesttigt war von den Futter der Nachbarn, hatte er kein Bedrfnis nach Hause zu kommen. Habe ihn immer rein geholt und rausgehen lassen. NACH 3 TAGEN Dann sa er eines Tages drin. Er hAtte es geschnallt. Heute dann, ging es schon mehrmals raus und rein. Er trgt den Magnet an einem Flohhalsband, da kein Halsband mitgeliefert wrde. am Flohhalsband ist es auch besser, das hat er noch nie verloren und im Notfall (falls er mal hngen bleibt) tut er Sich nichts, da es reissen wrde. BIN zufrieden und meine anderen Katzen schauen bld aus der Wsche.

Product was as described and works well .Cat soon got used to the use of the item. Unfortunately on the same order I requested and paid for a a cats collar and magnets but these were not delivered with the cat flap. I wrote in complaints section but have not had a response.
Easy to install and also comes with a magnet for your cats collar. We’ve had not problems so far. Cat took a day or two to figure it out on her own but relieved I no long have to use an indoor litter box

Ace catflap. Cats love it now they’re used to it. Built into wall with expanding foam and some laminate flooring offcuts. Looks the part. Works a treat. Mechanical mechanism seperable and changeable without removing whole mortar bedded section should it ever need replacing. Recommend. No drafts, no bother.

Arrived promptly, had this one before only replaced as old one damaged over years of use, bought extra mice magnets as I have 3 cats, control quite stiff at first but overall happy, stops unwanted visitors.
Funktionales Top-Produkt fr wenig Geld. Bereits unsere zweite Klappe (eine fr den Kellereingang, eine fr den Wintergarten) nach jahrelanger guter Erfahrung mit Vorgngermodell. Einfacher Einbau mit guter Anleitung in fast alle Materialien mglich. Mit elektrischer Stichsge fr die ffnung und Akkuschrauber fr Bohrung bei mir in Holz und Alu (jeweils ca 40 mm stark) mit einfachen handwerklichen Kenntnissen mglich. Auen noch an den Fugen mit Silikon abgedichtet, fertig. Im Einzelfall trotzdem fremde Katze “eingestiegen” wenn sie unmitelbar vor Schlieung der Klappe unserem Tiger folgt!
This is a great product, easy to assemble and fit, sturdy and robust, our cat has not yet figured out how to go in, though leaving the house causes no problems, yes a piece of metal taped to the bottom causes the door to fully close, if you are looking for this type of product then for the price and service this rates a 10/10.

Does the job but training the cat was an uphill task. Sticking masking tape over the magnetic catch kept jamming it. What would be better would be a switch to turn the magnet activated lock on and off! Which want in place it would have been much easier to train the cat.

Love love love this!! I have a house cat and a cat who is very independent and like to come and go as he pleases. So I fitted mine back to front. This is perfect. No problems fitting or with him learning how it works. The only problem is when he looses is collar, but that’s just one of those things.
He loves it. My house cat is still bemused why it doesn’t work for her thoUgh. Very funny.

Good cat flat, but it’s so flimsy and the quality of the product is not great…so not entirely sure why it’s so expensive. Can’t imagine it will be lasting a very long time, so will try to buy a wooden one in the future.

Hab die Katzenklappe vor das Katzenklo befestigt, damit nur eine bestimmte Katze von dreien hinein kann.Da sie nicht gechipt ist und auch zu alt war das die beste Lsung. Das herauskommen ist nur etwas eingewhnungsbedrftig da der Kater mit den Pfoten und nicht wie gedacht mit dem Kopf voran raus will. Einzig der Magnet ist recht krftig und der Kater schleppt ab und an mal nen kleinen Lffel herum.
Habe die Klappe jetzt zum zweiten mal gekauft – diesmal fr eine Freundin. Wir sind sehr zufrieden. Die Klappe erfllt rundum ihren Zweck. Das mit dem Magnetverschluss funktioniert ebenfalls tadellos – nur muss man darauf achten, das die Katze die Magnette sehr gerne verliert. Aber auch das ist kein Problem, da man die Teile nachkaufen kann.
Ok a few cats other than mine get in and out as well – they’re either rather rotund moggies or cats with the same collar key. Overall, though, it’s cheap and keeps the majority of prowling pussycats from coming in. You can’t ask for more for the price.

I replaced the non magnetic that was letting in all the local cats, it was very easy to install as it fitted exactly, only needed a screwdriver. My cat would not use it at first as it was harder for her to push than the old one, and she wouldn’t put her head through to allow the magnet to open the door, so we tapped down the button just to let her get used to pushing a bit firmer, when she was happy we then released the catch and she is now happily using the cat flap. We are now hoping that we will no longer be feeding all the local cats.

So it’s been about three months since I installed the PetSafe Staywell door for my cat, and I have some updated comments on the product. My five star review remains in place, as I am still quite satisfied with how well the door works. Two times now I’ve had local raccoons attempt to get into my room through the door, and the lock has successfully prevented them from entering. The door fits snugly enough that the coons were unable to get their claws around the edge to pull it open, despite their repeated attempts.
I do think that, due to the relative light weight of the door, it needs additional weight to assure it closes properly. I attached a slight amount of weight to the inside of the door, and it has helped to ensure that it closes tightly and securely each time my cat passes through.
An excellent product that keeps unwanted and stray cats out of my kitchen.

I needed a replacement door as my old one was worn out and the latch did not work as needed. I ordered one, but found it was slightly different and wanted us to screw some long screws thru the wall (19″ wall) to connect and no longer allowed us to screw the inner piect into the wall and then snap the outer piece over it. So I thought I probably needed the one with tunnel (even though we already had the tunnel extension) to do this, because that maybe was built more for screwing to thick walls. I ordered the one with tunnel and two collar magnets. It too was made the same, however, and the ‘two collar’ is two magnets with ONE collar – misleading.I am not sure why they changed the design or how they expect us to get a long screw thru the wall and into the hole in the plastic piece inside. Old design was much better. We adapated it ourselves to make it attach to the wall more easily and securely. The door seems to go one year or two and then need replacing. And we sometimes have to fiddle with the latch in between as it gets gummed up with cat hair and then doesn’t work – but can be cleaned and adjusted and works again for around two years and then just wears out and doesn’t work any more. We replaced this one because neighbor cat forced his way thru and broke it. When it does work, it’s great and keeps skunks and neighborhood cats out. I only wish there was a technology that married face recognition with this door so cat counldn’t bring mice in with him. That would be worth some extra money!

What did we do before magnetic catflaps? Fantastic invention to keep “whole” male cats out (unnutured and eager to leave their mark – very unpleasant.) the magnetic cat flap is a godsend and would not do without it.
Really pleased with the cat flap. It took a few attempts for the cats to master the art but once conquered there was no stopping them. The flap does exactly what it is supposed to do and stops next doors cat from robbing them of their food. Occasionally it does not close after use but have found this a rare occasion. I would recommend this product.
We are having problems getting the collar magnet to function but Puss is now delighted to go out under her own volition and will soon master re-entry, we are sure.

Easy to install (and I’m a woman), although a bit nervous cutting a hole in my UPVC door. My cat took a few pushes through it from both sides, bless him (he’d never used a cat flap before).. Wouldn’t be without it, he comes and goes as he pleases until I lock it to keep him in. It has 4 settings locked / unlocked / locked from going out and locked from coming in… although the lock is quite stiff to turn! Comes with 2 magnets so if like my cat you cat loses his collar you have a spare, although you can buy more spare magnets if required. I would recommend this if you want to make sure your neighbours cats cant get into your house 🙂

Unerwnscte Tiere -Katzen pp- knnen nicht rein, da nur der Magnetschlssel, den die Katze am Halse trgt, die Katzen-Tr ffnet.
Die Tr kann auch verschlossen werden, so dass die Katze nur rein oder nur raus kann. Alles sehr einfach zu handhaben.
Selbsteinbau in kurzer Zeit, wenn man eine Holztr hat. Beim Mauerwerk natrlich mehr Arbeitsaufwand. Bei einer Glastr gehts leider nicht. Da muss natrlich der Glaser kommen.
So gesehen einer gute Sache. Zumal auch schnell geliefert wurde und die Qualitt und das Preisverhltnis stimmt.

a good item for the price, but has a few niggles. works well most of the time, but occasionally fails to close properly. main problem is cat collects metal items on his collar which can be amusing or dangerous. stole other halfs car keys (funny) and brought home rusty blade from craft knife (not so funny).
INSTALLATION WILL BE SO MUCH EASIER TO NOT HAVE TO CUT A BIGGER

kein batteriefach, alle funktioniert rein magnetisch. und das absolut so wie es soll.
die klappe ist jedoch fr grosse katzen (> 5 kg) problematisch. mein “dicker” passt grad so durch und der ist bei knapp 5kg angelangt.
Purchased this flap to replace an old one of the same design – so it would fit the uPVC door and not require a new bottom panel – It is just a shame that the manufacturers of an otherwise superb product, dont make the outside parts uPVC too as the tunnel had become brittle and broken due to sun and weather exposure. As usual Amazon’s service was excellent and delivery very quick – just over 24 hours from start to finish!
I bought this cat flap as we were having replacement doors. It replaced a Ferplast cat flap, which although did the job well, sometimes didn’t shut behind the cat properly so needed to be weighted slightly in order to swing shut heavily enough to lock in place.
So far this Staywell flap has functioned perfectly and always lets the cat in and shuts it properly behind him. If you’re looking for a cheap way to stop other people’s cats coming into your house, this is it. Before we had a magnetic flap other cats would enter the house and my cat would fight them making a tremendous noise. This has stopped all that. It doesn’t take long for them to work out how to use it, and they’re much happier being able to come and go as they please.
