Great steam iron smooth and looks good, I had the previous generation and it has just given up after 10 years this is a better design hope it will last that long again.

Overall a good iron, maybe a little heavy, but badly delivered from Amazon as per photo in just a display box and no additional transportation protection. Very disrespectful to the customer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shame about the delivery

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe had one of these irons, all was good, then it went wrong after a few months, sent it back for repair but they had to send us a replacement, which was sorted very quickly. Now this one has done exactly the same. Don’t seem to be able to contact again about it not working. As had a replacement once already. Shame as I did like i

Bought to replace an older Philips Azur that was no longer able to steam. Good iron, smooth to use and not too heavy. As other reviews have said it is a little difficult to see the water level because the iron is black and I would have preferred a 3 metre cable instead of the 2.5 but overall a very good iron.

Iv always used philips iron. But I brought a different one when needed replacing and ended up sending it back and getting this one. So ladies amd gentleman stay with this. If your uncertain just buy it, you will never get a different brand after.

Bought this when the second steam generator packed in and saw the chance to revert to an iron that wouldn’t create annoying noise when using, a fraction of the price and although a heavier handset the finish is a much better iron.

The descaling cartridge is much easier to use than the steam generator too, only took a minute to clean and no mess.

Excellent iron you certainly get what you pay for. The water inlet has a rubber seal so no water can escape as you which the iron from side to side and a seriously long lead too.

Good steam iron does the job fine . could have a bigger opening for water intake but we are in our 70s. Seems rather expensive for what it is but only time will tell .

I like the shape of the sole plate, the pointed end is useful to iron between buttons. It irons very smoothly but is a little heavy when the water tank is full. It would be useful to have a clip for the very generous length of cord. I took one from my old iron.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIrons well at a lower temp than my old Phillips iron. And calc clean looks much easier.

Only downside so far is that the power cable is about 3ft shorter than the old azur model it is replacing now I will have to iron right up close to the plug socket or struggle to reach the other end of the ironing board ! Would be 5* if the cable was longer.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOverall I am really pleased with this iron. It works well. My only adverse criticism is that it is not easy to see the level of the water reservoir as the viewing window is tinted black.

I had a previous Azur which I loved but when it came to replace it I stupidly went for a Russell Hobbs which was dreadful. This iron is brilliant and I won’t be buying a different brand again.

Really nice looking iron very powerful. Does the job perfectly
steam is perfection so far has not left any substance on my clothes
. The only thing I would say if I had to be really picky is it is quite heavy, but I would forgo this problem for the other benefits that it offers.

What a great iron! No more going up and down several times to get the creases out of clothes, this iron gets the crinkles out straight away!

It drinks a lot of water, but I guess that’s due to all the steam coming out to straighten out the clothes

Overall I’m very happy with how well this iron works at tackling my huge laundry pile, the stem function works brilliantly at removing ceases. The only downside is that it appears heavier than irons I have previously used.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis was to replace the same model i’ve had for a while which i dropped which made the steam button faulty. Over the years i have tried them all but the Philips Azur has proved to be the best , its lightweight but solid, the removable calc bracket works great, to my knowledge the Azur is the only iron with this device.
It removes creases with just one slow motion slide, but i must admit using a reflective ironing board cover and deionized water makes using the iron even better.

Works well, lots of steam. The iron is heavy so avoid if you have weak or damaged wrists

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood iron… but no little plastic water jug… or even the cable clip one uses to hold the wound-up cord in place when storing between use.

Come on Philips…. don’t you think that sort of penny-pinching is just mean?

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe iron has a powerful steam output that can quickly remove wrinkles and creases from clothing, and the soleplate is designed to glide smoothly over fabrics for efficient ironing.
One potential drawback of the Philips Azur steam iron is its weight. The iron is quite heavy, which can make it tiring to use for extended periods of time. This may be a concern for individuals who have a lot of ironing to do or for those with mobility or strength limitations.

  28. Anonymous says:

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt works well but personally I would have liked it better if the cord was just 1 meter longer to save me using the extension lead.
I was surprised how heavy the iron was and my poor wrist felt that. It irons well in Eco mode and overall I would say it’s a decent iron but I would not recommend to anyone who has a wrist problem.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersInitially I was sent a previously returned one that was obviously very heavily used. However it was replaced immediately without issue and I had the new one within 24 hours.
I wear a thick cotton white uniform and the weight and steam iron it to perfection seamlessly! I have gone from 10 minutes to 2 minutes per uniform.
Great steam output and very fast heat up. Would have been 5 stars if it wasn’t for the first one.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI had been using the iron for 5 months and was perfectly happy as it did exactly what I had expected it to do. Then, the last time I went to use it, there was a very smell ‘pop’ sound and it didn’t heat up again. I switched off, left it for a minute or two, then turned back on and, although the activation light blinked twice, as it normally did, it would not heat up.
Given the relatively short time I had been using, I was disappointed but accepted that these things happen from time to time and so sent an e-mail message through the Amazon system, only to be advised that the company was no longer part of the Amazon Market place, but that I could apply for a refund directly through Amazon’s A-Z Guarantee (I believe it’s called) process.
This proved to be somewhat convoluted as the automated system was telling me to make contact as I had already done and I felt like I was going round in circles, getting nowhere. I did manage to find another e-mail address for Amazon customer service, sent of a message, explaining the situation in full. An acknowledgment message confirmed that consideration was being given to refunding me via the aforementioned process and within a few days time, the refunded sum was in my bank account allowing to purchase another iron promptly.
I was disappointed and then frustrated, but then delighted with Amazon’s Customer Service. I have since sent the iron off to be recycled.
    Well done Amazon!!

I have to keep a torch by the ironing board .

When it comes to steam iron’s noone can beat Philips. Iron is very well made, feels premium, has all the functionality needed and more. The non drip technology really works, something Tefal people should reverse engineer to learn how to do it properly. Cord is gorgeously long but the latest model does not have the cable clip for tidy storage – luckily this is cheap as chips and easy to find in online shops.

This is my replacement for previous Philips calc clean iron. The temperature and steam elements are just as great as previously. You can use steam on delicate fabrics. You can get crisp creaseless shirts after a week of sitting in the basket. And now the calc clean system is excellent – removing the calc collector and rinsing out the chamber is really easy. No more limestone streaks on the sheets.
Not a lightweight iron but don’t expect that for a great iron.

  36. ashwin rajagopal says:

Great iron, only minor improvement would be for a tweak to the design to enable the cord to be securely stored when not in use. Cord not the longest, however is fine for my needs.

I have owned a very similar model of Philips iron for the past 10 years. The only complaint was that it stopped producing steam.
Not the lightest of irons, but does a fantastic job. Ironing has become enjoyable once again!

Happy with this iron for now, will see how it goes. The temperature control is ok although for some materials it seem to be either too hot or not hot enough. It also seems to be “eating” a lot of water! But it glides well and irons better than the previous iron of a different brand I had

I wanted a good iron , I don’t have much faith on irons, so I saw this one thought ok let’s see. Wow this is a great iron. Great for ironing great steam easy cleaning and cuts through the ironing quickly. Used with crease release spray you will do your ironing in no time. Brilliant .

Had Phillips iron before now being used by stepdaughter. 2 expensive generator irons later back to Phillips normal iron. Not the lightest iron, but I knew that plus don’t have to use too much pressure. So far I am pleased irons well, appears not much steam comes out like generator but removes creases better than old iron, haven’t used extra steam yet. Cord long enough for me and wraps around bottom of the iron. Can see level of water in the tank will need regular top ups but that’s not an issue. Pleased with purchase and price.

I was given two choices of tap water iron to choose from. I preferred the light weight one saying it will be easier on the wrist but was persuaded to buy this Phillips Iron with a little slide out mechanism at the back to empty and clean each time the iron is used to save limescale building up inside the iron.
Ironing shirts is so easy because the extra weight gives a better finish and yet it doesn’t weigh heavy in the hand whist in use. It glides as it irons. I am elderly and broke my wrist in a fall so I was cautious but I happily recommend this iro

Iron although on the heavy side is very good, steam works great, temperature range is brilliant , it actually makes the ironing sort of enjoyable for once. Creases are taken out with ease, even the most difficult ones. The upon is a little heavy although that seems to add to the pressure being being on the clothes. All in all a great item and well worth the outlay.

That steam iron is good quality and quite big iron than other. I think the steam is quite fast and notice when you fill water to iron you can see water inside iron but one thing don’t fill up with max and I can see overflow just in case. This is why I rated 5 stars and no one see any negative with star rate by below or comment at all. However I’m very happy with steam iron.

I bought this to replace my old Philips iron.
I can’t comment on the scale collector, as I am writing this after my first use.

    Pro’s
    Good temperature control
Decent steam even on setting 2
    Very smooth ironing action
Easy to see water fill line inside the filler cap
    Long cord length

    Con’s
It is slightly heavier than my previous iron
No ridge for wrapping the cable around it
No cable clip to keep the wrapped cable in place (i used the one from my old iron)

    Excellent Steam

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhen buying an iron, we all expect the same thing; something that’s going to serve us for years to come. It’s one of those things that we simply don’t buy very often. And after a few weeks with this Philips steam iron, I don’t think we’ll be buying another one any time soon!

I bought this because our trusty old previous iron had finally come to the end of its useful life. Bought in conjunction with a spanky new ironing board, the absolute joy of ironing has once again entered our house!

This does exactly what we would expect from a good quality iron. It’s light, easy to use, provides a good amount of steam (without having to refill the water too often), and breezes over even the toughest fabrics.

All in all, this is a superb iron and we look forward to many, many years of happy ironing to come (some irony intended!). Highly recommended.

Well it puts out lots of steam and takes the creases out my shirts. It seems great but when your old iron was struggling it’s hard to benchmark. I hate ironing and just wish it had robot feature like the little hoovers! Only used it twice but seems great.
