I wanted to play FIFA on my surface pro 8 tablet, but as it can’t really play anything else I didn’t want to fork out a load for an official Xbox controller, so this one looked good but didn’t have my hopes up. My last xperience with 3rd party controllers was on the N64.

I can’t talk about how well it works with the PS4 stuff but in terms of PC gaming, it was picked up quickly and works as expected, no driver issues or wierd buttons.

Overall, very impressed and other than a ‘pro’ gamer, find it hard to imagine it wouldn’t be just fine

: Top Tip : Top Tip : The old school layout is a joy to use for old PlayStation fans.

: At 39.99, at the time of writing,

    This :

: Programmable Controller for scuf PS-4 PlayStation 4 with Turbo and Custom Mapping Paddles, Wireless Remote Joystick Pad for PS4 Pro with Rechargeable 1200mAh Battery, Memory Function with Mods, White

Looks to be a pretty cool, Wireless Game Controller.
    But…
    Is it any good?
    Is it good value?
Are there many more of these annoying questions?
    Well… to find out, let’s take a closer look… …

    Packaging :
It arrives in a professional looking, dark, and brooding cardboard box.
It makes an excellent first impression,

    Recycling :
Most of the packaging can be recycled, including the inner contents.

    Contents :
Out of the box, and the contents are easy to catalogue :
    1 x Controller for PS4
    1 x USB charge cable
    1 x Instructions
    Excellent.
Everything needed to get up and running, straight away.

Of course, with this, the best thing to do straight away, is to get it charging.
So plugging it in to a spare USB port, or plug, once it’s out of its box, makes sense.

    Build Quality :
This gives us a chance to take a bit of a closer look at it.
    It’s build quality is excellent.
It feels chunky, solid, and well-built.

    Features :
I used to love the PlayStation 2 controllers, so this controller, looking so similar to those old ones, is an absolute bonus, and makes me love the layout straight away.
It is laid out exactly the same as an official Sony controller, so there will be no adjustment in play style, or grip, needed.
The buttons are the perfect blend of solid feeling, sensitive, and easy to push.
The trigger buttons are satisfyingly cool to trigger.
The analogue controller joysticks are nice and sensitive, and easy to manoeuvre with.

It has a 1200mAh polymer lithium battery, which will give you roughly 8 to10 hours of non-stop gaming.
The included USB cable can be used to charge it, and also to connect it up for wired connectivity.
It’s good to have the wired option.

No onboard sound is offered, which is a bit of a compromise, and a missed opportunity.
However, crank up the TV, soundbar, or home cinema sound, and you will soon forget the lack of local audio.

    **A wee bit later**

    Set Up :
Now it’s charged up, it’s time to test it.
Plugging it in, to install it, and it takes less than a minute, with no downloads needed for driver, so installation is nice and quick.

    Performance :
Gaming with the pad, is excellent.
It is nice and sensitive, quick, and with zero lag.
It played almost exactly the same as an official Sony controller, and was a joy to use.

    Down Sides :
No downsides were noted during testing.

    Value :
Value wise, the controller is terrific.
At just under forty pounds, the controller is very competitively priced, and is very reasonable.
I would easily pay that, and be happy.

    Summary :
Overall, I really like this controller.
It is well-designed, looks brilliant, plays very well, and is priced to sell.

    Recommendation :
I am happy to recommend it, I love using it, and I enjoy owning it.

I hope you enjoyed our time together .
Thank you for reading my review .

I got this for my PlayStation, it is supposed to be great for advanced gaming with extra programmable buttons, programmable turbo and good for modifying. I’m sure it is great for that but I bought it just to use normally. It connected to my ps4 well and without any problems, and I found set up was easy. I like the feel in my hands, it’s a really comfortable pad with easy press buttons. It has a really good rechargeable battery, which lasts just as well as my other controllers and the joypad is quick to recharge. This controller feels well made and looks good. It comes with 2 skins for the directional buttons and I believe you can buy additional skins to customise it too. As a basic gamer, this pad works well for me and I wouldn’t hesitate to order another.

This third party PS4 controller is actually not too bad. It still feels a bit too loose to be mistaken for the official one and in the hands it’s certainly different but it still does the job well enough. Buttons feel responsive and the D-pad, while a little flimsy, does work ok.

I’m actually using this for an arcade console setup to play retro games and it works both wired (wire included, which can be used as a charger or cable to connect to PC etc) and via Bluetooth, though you do need to remember to use the Share button and PS button at the same time if connecting to anything other than a Playstation.

I’ve tested this on a PS5 as well and it works perfectly fine there, too, making it a good choice for a cheap second controller for Sony’s latest console.

This programmable controller for PS-4/PC etc., arrived boxed with user guide.

It looks and feels of a decent quality, well made from a good quality rigid plastic.

All buttons work well and are easy to press/use.
    Some buttons can be customised.

The controller has all the functionality of the original one with useful additional functions.
It has turbo with 4 sensitivity levels and customable mapping paddles, memory function with modes.

This wireless joystick has a big rechargeable battery – 1200mAh, which lasts long, of course depending on the usage.

It is comfortable to grip and hold however it is a bit bigger/longer than the original one, so need a bit wider movements to rich all the buttons.
It reacts well, but sometimes with slight delay.

I’ve connected it via USB to the console, then wirelesly via Bluetooth.
Connection is usually good and quite stable if not far from the PS4.

Great quality but not the easiest to program buttons, I have to get used to its shape/buttons.
It doesn’t support audio/headphones, so sound has to go directly from the console/PC.

Nice visually and well made, but doesn’t support sound and took me a while to adjust to it.

I tried this out on my PS4 with both GTA and red dead. The controller was responsive and i like the feel of the pads and sticks. The only way to get the console to recognize it, Is to use the USB cable and plug it directly into the console, Going into settings and searching for a new device.

This sets it up pretty quickly and Bluetooth can then be fully used. The controller is a lot taller than other controllers i have used in the past, But it still felt comfortable in my hand, Just a little more stretched out to reach the L1 and R1 side buttons.

So far, I would say this is a decent controller that can be programmed if you want to personalize the buttons for your own gaming needs.

Well made comfortable to hold PS4 controller that can also be programmed to use on a PC. Quick and easy to link to PS4 and once linked it stays linked unlike others I have tried. The included free covers are actually really comfortable to use and the texture/bobbles stop fingers from getting sweaty.

It does a lot more than we need it for but for playing games and viewing films it works exactly as expected. Nothing to fault at all.
