Good quality well made earphones, work fine on the PS4.
Only issue is when you switch them into the mode to use the microphone the sound quality drops, which is a rubbish as my daughter mostly plays Fortnite.
Doesn’t bother my daughter as she loves the cat ears
Not Razors fault, mainly due to them being Bluetooth.
Good headset but not that loud and foots steps are very quite in many games
Disclaimer: bought as an Amazon return product, but listed as in perfect working condition.
The headphones are great, really clear audio and high quality. It’s plastic but.if.you are gentle and don’t go smashing it around it will last.
The microphone is useless. Every time I plug it in and test it, you can clearly hear all my audio from my PC being fed back in. I have tried multiple splitters, jacks, drivers and more to no avail. I believe its just bust, but I had a headset microphone available that I stuck to the side.of the headphones and they work fine.
Splitter is also quite flimsy, but it works and hasn’t broken with use for over a year now.
Buy for the headphones, not the mic. Recommended.
I like this headset. The cooling gel in the ear cushions is nice and still works even now that Iv had the set for a while. The sound quality is excellent and the mic is really good, my friends have told me I sound clear. The one and only criticism I have and it’s nothing major is that the set is slightly loose on my head so if I look down the set slowly slides and would likely slide off but being as they are for gaming you very rarely lower your head as your usually facing the screen ! I use these for the PS4.
Picked this up from Amazon Warehouse during one of their sale events and boy, what a buy
Arrived and could tell it had been opened but not used.
Set up was incredibly easy. Just plug into the Xbox controller and done.
Now, on the first few goes my teenage gamer complained the sound was very tiny, he could hear background noise and said it wasn’t good and needed to go back.
Didn’t really want to do that as there were none left in stock by this time so I checked online to see if anyone else has the same issue. People did! And there was a fix! Wooo
So, went into Xbox settings and changed ‘something’.
Sound was now brilliant and he could no longer hear any background noise & and he could hear footsteps in game to get that all important win.
Brilliant headset, looks great, comfortable etc
If I needed to get another headset, I’d happily get another one
Main thing I dislike is how sometimes the connection drops though I haven’t moved, the audio will be fuzzy for a about a minute, though I could’ve gotten a faulty pair I’m not sure.
Last thing is I feel like he mic picks up too much sometimes, I could be drinking or swallowing normally and my mates can hear the whole process, kind of uncomfortable but not the biggest issue, just thought it was important. (especially for people who eat on mic)
As an overall rating these are an 8/10 for me 🙂
I wear glasses now, so finding a good headset that doesn’t force my glasses arms into my skull is a hard one. This one does well to remove any pressure, however it doesn’t do a great job of passive noise cancellation. The package comes with a simply 3.5mm jack and then an extension cable for the PC which splits the audio and mic. The cable is braided with a nice soft material.
The headset is good quality and audio of the mic is great.
I think it’s about 60ohms as detected by my motherboard which after w bit of tweaking does well with sound, though this is not one for music listening. For 38 this is a steal so highly recommend.
I have been desperate to own a pair of razer headphones for about a year, since I began gaming frequently. So seeing these beauties on offer, think I got them for 44 I grabbed the chance and purchased. I had wanted the kitty ear ones but they were abit pricier. However, these ones are fantastic! I can be fully immersed in a gaming session and I can block out everything around me. The sound quality is amazing! I have only used the mic twice for testing as I use a blue snowball for microphone but my friends told me the quality was great so I’m happy to use that as an alternative if my blue snowball ever breaks! They are a beautiful shade of pink, which fits in with my aesthetic! They are comfy for long gaming sessions, comfy across the head and ears and feel light. I highly recommend this headset! You won’t regret the purchase.
I decided to treat myself as I have always bought cheap headsets as there isn’t really much catered to female gamers. But then I came across these and fell in love. Especially with the additional cat ears, which was a separate purchase I had to get the console headset so that I can use it on my xbox.
The sound is so nice and clear. Impressed with the bass. My friends are also nice and clear in party chat. They also said I sound a lot clearer as well. The ear bit is nice and big so to me it feels comfy as I don’t like it when it’s touching my ears. It’s also not heavy on my head and overall fits well.
I see the reviews change after a couple of months. So I will update if mine decide to start playing up but at the moment I’m extremely impressed with them and I absolutely love the look of them.
Good software and volumne. Gave 4 because mic is loose and not fixed can be annoying.
These headphones are really great! They have a sturdy build, a good microphone and are comfortable to wear. I play games like Minecraft a lot, where it is good to be able to hear where sounds are coming from to find things, and they work wonderfully for that. The sound is very nice, they aren’t crazy on the bass, so if you prefer lots of that, I’d probably choose other headphones, but I’m fine with this personally. It’s really nice that the microphone is retractable, because I find microphones annoying to have hanging around when they aren’t being used. They do decrease background noise a tiny, tiny bit, but they’re not supposed to be noise cancelling, so that’s ok. They come with a jack splitter, so you can separate mic and audio if you want, and the lead has a small mute/volume control thing on it. I opted for the Razer Kraken because I didn’t care for RGB as it won’t even be seen while wearing them, and I prefer the black as white could start looking dirty and green just looks quite out of place!
Build quality:
Good at this price point – there’s not much metal but they seem sturdy enough. Looks are great but I have concern about how long they’ll last as it’s mostly plastic and soft material, so don’t throw them around.
Sound:
No problems here, clear highs and lows with punchy bass. Mic is clean and my teammates can hear me well.
Comfort:
I can wear them for many hours with no discomfort and the cups are very nice and soft, and your ears stay nice and cool. They’re not too loose but could do with being a bit tighter but this is better than too tight!
The headset is great, I’ve had the kraken pro v2 before and it lasted for almost 5 years except it broke but it was my fault because I stepped on the pin. This headset is pretty much the same. It’s got lovely surround sound to immerse you into your game and will help you pin point the location of the sound.
The retractable mic is great when you want to play solo, the cooling pads on the earphones are a nice quality of life touch in the summer to keep your ears cooler. It’s a nice sturdy metal based frame with some sort of leather I think.
It also has a heavy duty reinforced cable to make sure no snaps happen!.
Overall I can’t think of anything bad about it except after a very very long time, about 3-4 years the wire tenses up just a tiny bit for some reason (does not effect audio), and is still rock solid.
I’d give this headset a 4.5 and please don’t listen to people who have had bad experiences remember those are mostly the odd faults and you can always send it back or swap it if that happens.
Sometimes you can find it half price too which is excellent for budget gamers.
I recommend this mic if you have a normal Xbox/ps/mic as this is a great step up for your skills.
– Excellent sound quality
– Very good Noise cancellation
– Long, sturdy cable
( use a separate mic, so cannot review the in-built one)
Cons:
Build quality is not the best, but decent for the price you pay. I bought mine in December (7 months ago) and it has been great. However, if you aren’t careful, then the plastic at the top of the headset can snap as it isn’t as flexible unlike other headsets. I will be buying the same one as a replacement because I feel that it was my fault that it broke.
The bottom line is, the SteelSeries 9x has not been designed or manufactured to any level of quality. That hurt because they were 160+.
Enter Razer Kraken…
Not wireless – no. A fraction of the cost – yes. Superior in every way – yes.
Razer have produced a way better headphone than I expected for its price point. I’m super pleased I’ve come over to them.
SteelSeries will never see a bean out of me every again.
But even without 7.1 surround sound for console the sound is great for what it is, still has a great 360 sound quality.
They are very light too and the padding around the ears and top of head are very comfortable for long periods of gaming.
Although these earphones don’t exactly have great airflow if that makes sense because your ears will get hot and sweaty sometimes and does get slightly uncomfortable but I then take breaks.
They completely cover your ears and there’s no sound leakage at all.
The cons that I have is the microphone with mediocre quality and non detachable or to hide away.
For long distances you have an extra cord to extend the length but the cord is also not very durable and seem very easy to damage especially if you have pets that chew.
Either way I recommend these headphones for the price they are near perfect, sound quality is very good too. You will still hear footsteps and the perfect amount of bass too.
For people wearing glasses these are perfect they will not be uncomfortable in anyway.
Great product for price and offers better sound quality than other budget headphones, issues are with design itself as after a week my headset been squeaking whenever I moved them but it doesn’t do that anymore I presume as its new, software that gives you extra virtual sound so you can hear more from different directions isn’t that great and didn’t helped at all and I will say you don’t even need it as headset by itself does amazing job and let me hear footsteps in games without the software and I knew where they been located even if they are quite, quality is great but sometimes had cracking noises whenever someone went high pitch but does not anymore as I presume it’s my machine fault not the headset and had troubles with connecting it to my machine as it has dual mic and audio jack cable and my laptop sometimes thought it is just a headphones so it’s not headset fault (headset comes with splitter in the box if needed) so great product and has little problematic things but it is still worth buying if you are fine with little hastle of updating drivers and your pc
The headphones themselves are very study and comfortable and look amazing with my new white gaming setup. The actual setup however, was very painful. I’ve had my fair share of gaming headphones and they’ve never been this difficult to activate, I don’t know what happed but for some reason my pc wasn’t recognising them, so I couldn’t hear any audio at all and the mic wasn’t working either. Luckily my friends are quite computer savvy and managed to help me after 2 days of inconsistent struggle.
The audio itself is pretty decent especially with the 7.1 surround sound add-on, I would recommend having it on as it does make your gaming experience so much more immersive and worth while.
The cooling pads do work, although they do get warm after so many hours, just like any other gaming headset out there.
The mic, from what my friends have told me is much better and crisper, which is what I was wanting.
I would recommend these, however, do be warned about the ridiculous set up, unless I just got the odd one out, then in that case, they’re pretty much worth the money.
Pity that the USB sound mixer thingy isn’t compatible with the Xbox One though.
The volume wheel doesn’t have a huge range of motion so it can be hard to fine tune how loud you want the sound coming through, but sound levels can be easily fine tuned in the Xbox Headphone settings.
Overall a pretty sweet deal when I got it on sale for around 30 quid!
Loads of bass gets a bit flappy if you have it turned up too much
The chat volume mixer is sick until your on a game it dosent work with
The headphones themselves feel quality just the mic feels like I will break in a few months but haven’t had an issue yet, time will tell
Overall I’m very happy with these. I’ve had some turtle beech headsets a few weeks back and the Razers sound isn’t as bass heavy. At first I was a bit disappointed with the sound but after using them for a while they grew on me and I actually prefer the softer bass. They are comfortable to wear and the cooling ear pads felt strange at first, but work well.
Microphone quality is also good and I’ve have some positive comments from others on how clear it is.
They also work well on my laptop for Teams calls. Find them more comfortable to wear for conference calls compared to my on ear headset I used to use for calls.
This is the only headset I’ve had that doesn’t fall to pieces on me due to being made of cheap plastic, the sound quality is totally fine for everyone except audiophiles, and I’ve never had trouble with the mic that couldn’t be immediately remediated via changing sensitivity or replugging the USB.
It’s looks quite bulky but that really isn’t an issue as the headset feels light and the earcups and headband are comfortable, the cable is long and you can get quite a bit of distance from your PC with it, the soundcard has controls for volume, bass etc, and the mute button on the sound card is very obvious as it glows red when its activated – more than can be said for many headphone/mic combo headsets on the market. The volume slider is halfway between the soundcard and the headset and is easy to use when needed.
All around a solid headset, if this one ever did stop working I’d buy another.
They’re very comfortable and I can wear them for hours on end without problems, although not when wearing my glasses. I do have to take my glasses off after a while.
I have run into the issue of volume control though, for some reason, possibly because of the software, the headset will randomly adjust the sound so everything is really quiet. I hate this and have spent ages trying to fix it. The only solution I’ve come across is to only adjust
sound using the controller box on the cable. This isn’t great as I have no idea what percentage my PC volume is at.
Other than that, it works well. It’s durable, the mic quality is quite good and the extra settings on the software are great to use. Have been using mine for about a year or so and they still work well.
The sound is definitely quite bassy in comparison to other headphones I use so keep that in mind if you want highest fidelity of sound it’s probably not it.
They have a lot of options to choose from and adjust the sound to your liking but i have not been playing with settings too much. Apparently whenever my partner is using them they are too quiet so definitely need to be adjusted to each person’s hearing.
They are fairly light on the head and do cancel outside noises well without ANC, but as all over the ear headphones they also make your ears warm after a long use. The earcups are mesh, not faux leather so perhaps they may have better longevity than my Sennheiser PXC550 but I have not had either long enough to tell.
The are huge though, i got some funny comments from people on zoom. I thin they look sleek but if your head is small, they will definitely make your head look wider 😀
So upon receiving this headset, I was very eager to try them out finally. Firstly comfort, I have worn this for a 12 hour long stream. Not once did I feel uncomfortable, or had to readjust the headset to to it slipping off my head. Secondly sound- now I bought this as the reviews were supposedly great for sound! I can not rate the sound highly enough. Picture the scenario, Apex legend- kings canyon- ranked- so I’m playing with randoms as the boys were busy! There’s 6 full squads surrounded me and my team, grenades exploding everywhere around me, gunshots flying passed, So crisp I actually ducked! Bangalore ults landing so close to my legands feet, I could feel it! Octane jumping right over my head, I felt the soaring wind of him fly by. If you want a gaming headset to fully emerge yourself look no further! This is the headset for you. After all the complete chaos, I clutch up for the boys and that sweet notification pops up on my screen- CHAMPIONS!!
So firstly, I am a die hard Razer fan. I have a Razer Naga Trinity and I’m still rocking the Razer Deathstalker. But with all the talk of the Razer Kraken being a good headset standalone, but as soon as you turn to the Kraken Tournament Edition, you get more buttons to press and more features that take time to setup and enable, oh and did someone say Razer Synapse software???? Well lucky Mac users, you’ll never be able to use the Razer TE to its full extent as Razer Synapse is only available on Windows and even better the 7.1 Surround Sound feature only works with Windows 10 so if anyone is still rocking Windows 7 or 8 then you better find a Windows 10 key to use this product. But once you get past this first additional barrier then well you have one of the best gaming headsets out there for a reasonable price. One thing that I would have liked was for my S/N and P/N not to be covered by the stickers on the box as this was annoying cause I spent 30 minutes trying to register the warranty incase this headset was a flop. But after testing this headset out for the past 4/5 hours I’ve experienced better gaming and honestly better communication on discord.
My husband bought these as a proper gaming headset and he’s very happy with the quality, sound and comfort. He said he would absolutely recommend them. I also use them to listen to my TV when he is playing games with his pals, and it blocks out noise well and the quality of sound is good! For me however, they do get a bit uncomfortable after a while, but not unbearable. I would still absolutely recommend these.
Really great! Perfect for PS5 as they replicate 3D audio brilliantly! Not as well defined sound wise compared to Astros, but it would be unreasonable to expect that on a 3.5mm 50 headset.
Works great on PS4 and 5 with zero set up required. Build quality is fantastic, it really puts my old turtle beaches to shame build and sound wise.
The best feature of the headset however is hands down the comfort. I guarantee this will be the most comfortable gaming headset you will ever wear for long long sessions. Seriously it doesn’t make sense how this is the first headset to not cause some sort of discomfort after 6+ hours.
Mic quality is fantastic and could never be called unclear or quiet.
Overall 9/10 – Razer have absolutely nailed it with this
I’ll start off by saying I’m not a Razer fan. In fact, I actively avoid their products usually due to previous bad experience with their products.
Coming from a HyperX Cloud 2 headset that I really wasn’t happy with the sound I have to say the Razer Kraken X had me pleasantly surprised. The overall sound profile is much better than the HyperX Cloud 2’s, particularly on the low end and bass but they aren’t overly heavy (aka Beats by Dre).
They are comfortable to wear and the microphone is decent (not as good as the HyperX here though).
I dislike Razers software though so I will not be using their weird unlock code for the 7.1 download. Honestly this seems like a huge gimmick anyway. By comparison, HyperX had a USB DAC to handle the 7.1 and it also works with this headset.
I will say the biggest reason I got this one was because it was white and I just changed my setup to mostly white stuff.
Honestly, these are one of the best headsets i’ve ever used and here’s why.
Pros –
> Comfy
> Fits Perfectly & can be adjusted.
> Mic is Extendable and can be hidden, very useful especially for people who find it distracting.
> Audio is crispy clear & i can hear footsteps and even breathing in some games!
> The Amplifier has a sticky side when you peel off the sticker for better cable management & easy access.
> Usb & a 3.5mm Jack support for both PC & consoles! and even older generation phones and i’m sure nintendo switch.
You can switch between the two, i use these for professional gaming on the playstation with the usb connection and they work perfectly.
Cons –
> The Amplifier/Control Box Mute button is quite buggy with the PS4/5, when you mute with the box you have to unplug it and plug it back in to unmute. For the conclusion to this is because you’re supposed to use the 3.5 mm jack for consoles but i prefer usb for free movement.
Other than that, the headset is brilliant and worth every penny, if correctly looked after it could last years.
hese are a good headset for what I paid 50 sound is very good on pc lots of bass for music as well as on the phone but some of the questions and answers on here say u can plug the USB sound card in to xbox one leading u believe it will be thx sound on xbox, well u can’t on the xbox one x nothing happens at all so left with just 3.5mm anolog sound and I was disappointed as I did look as the question’s and answers section first, but like I said as a pc headset for the price u won’t find any bette
the headset is so comfy too, the only way i can even tell it’s on my head is because of how good the bass is when i’m listening to music lol, it’s great. it makes you feel so immersed whilst in games too, 100% recommend as of now.
hey are great but whenever i plug in the usb port i hear a static noice, so i cant really use that feature
I bought these for PC gaming, and they are good, but not outstanding headphones for that.
There’s a few things that stop them getting top marks..
The ear cups do get hot after a couple of hours use.. but they are comfortable and feel like they will last a long time.
The 7.1 Surround (you redeem a code in the box for an app on the razer store that does it digitally), is.. underwhelming.. I’d say.. useless.
The hidden glasses channels are certainly hidden.. I don’t wear glasses but I tried these with some sunglasses just as a test.. and there’s no hidden channel in the foam cups.. you can freely rotate them for one thing so the hidden channel would never line up with he glasses.. but if you just feel round it it simply isn’t there. Its foam all the way round.
One final annoying design feature is the 2 part cable.. firstly… why is it 2 parts? It just adds weight to the cable and an extra failure point. And second the 2×3.5mm jacks that go into the PC, the rubber moulded plugs is too small on the end to make removing them without being tempted to pull on the wire tricky..
Other than those small issues they sound OK, feel well built and light, and for the price you cant complain too much.
This head set is amazing. The surround sound really immerses your in your game and the sound quality is amazing. Comfort is a huge plus for me too as I wear glasses, but I’ve games for many hours without any discomfort as other headsets in the past have become uncomfortable. So much worth out of this headset for the cost, I highly recommend this headset. Don’t go for your budget low end when you can get this for a bit more. The difference is huge.
Pros:
Great sound quality
Fit on smaller heads (probably not children’s though)
Comfortable for me
Cons:
The first headset mic broke within a year
The second headset mic came dodgy and has never picked my voice up properly. Might be due to it cutting out background noise, and I might be too quiet for it to pick my voice up. (So not good for quiet gamers I guess)
For some people its uncomfortable on the ears to wear for a long time (not for me)
–
I have a small head and most headsets fall off me, this one fits me well, which is why I’ll always get this one.
.
Bought for my son’s xbox one gaming. He’s broken many headsets in a short time. As they all had “stright” jack plug which goes to xbox controller. This one has got “angled” jack so this issue is solved. Even when he holds his controller on his belly the plug doesn’t twist all the time and then eventually break. They seems solid even they’re all plastic. My son is only nine so doesn’t have to adjust them too much. They’re comfortable and have enough padding as he plays many hours with no complains. Even though there were a bit expensive.
Bought these so r kid could play PS4 with the lads and have good sound quality and so he can’t hear me tell him to get off now because it’s been 5 hours. 6 hours later he can’t hear me, so the noise cancellation is a great feature for him. Has a little pull out mic on the side which is really good you can hear clearly what he’s saying but he’ll still shout very loudly while playing games… his friends must not have these great headphones. Worth the price. Very comfortable on ears, especially when using for long periods of time doesn’t cause any discomfo
One thing I don’t like though, is how much they have dug into the headphones and left deep marks meaning I can’t really wear my headphones without them on anymore as they have damaged the band. This is a bit frustrating as the Razer Kraken headphones aren’t cheap.
They’re also a little expensive for what they are, but I really wanted them so that wasn’t much of an issue, and since they’ve dented my headphone band I won’t be taking them off, so I am getting a lot of use out of them! I would recommend them if you’re planning to keep them on your headphones permanently.
The product is amazing and better than what i expected for the price i paid.
They’re alright for listening to music, however, I’ve noticed the left-hand speaker driver is rattling a bit, which isn’t great seeing as I’ve only owned them for about 2 months.
(Review from someone who’s played COD religiously since 2007)
Please don’t be fooled by the good reviews, if you’re serious about gaming DO NOT buy these.
S.
Sound quality: good but there are better options at this price point
Haven’t used the amp that came with the headphones but I’ve seen mostly positive reviews.
I have used some of the worst headsets and some basic headsets, I forked out a bit of money for hyperx and the dog got at the wires which led me to grabbing a cheaper model, I bought these because I lost the last hyper x, I do take care of my equiptment I swear but some are not built well, anyway, kraken!
Immediately I was greeted with the familiar comfort that other above basic heasets provide, lighter than I imagined and out of the box the sound is pretty solid, not movie cinematic booming but clear and a little flat, the free software they provide isn’t spectacular, it makes the bass stronger but not in the way I’d hoped as well as the directional audio, their paid software is much better, it makes bass stand on it’s own and amplifies the other sounds as well, I had a free trial period, all in all it’s a very versatile headset with some gimmicks, sounds pretty good but the only negative was the surround sound being a little lack lustre, I had some expectations going in I guess.
I bought this as a back up for my Turtle Beach wireless headset as I was experiencing issues with voice distortion.
The headset is for my PS4 and I have had many headsets prior to this, usually, my son put them to the test and destroyed them quickly. Including TB x 2, Sony etc.
If it wasn’t the headband, it would be the ear cushions or the charging socket. Also had my puppy chew through a cable whilst I was playing once. So I think I have had enough headsets to realize a good and a bad one.
Anyway, received quickly from Amazon and packaging was good.
Took them out of the box, plugged the headset into the THX USB amplifier, and then into the PS4. Not quite plug and play as mic level was really low for a start. To be honest I am concerned about the level of this as when testing at full mic gain it’s only reaching yellow. So this might be an issue going forward.
In-game volume is good though and quality of sound is pretty much as I had expected for a mid-price headset, not brilliant, but good.
The one thing I am happy with is the build and comfort of the headphones, they’re not too tight but fit well. They seem robust, but light enough for a few hours gaming. My glasses fit well with them and are not pressed into the side of my head.
So all in all, so far so good for these.
The microphone is a little annoying, but it is very adjustable and you can pretty much hide it from your eyesight when you’re watching movies or listening to music and it stays in place (unlike some cheaper ones that revert back to straight).
Microphone quality is pretty amazing to be honest, the volume isn’t the highest, you’d be better off getting a standalone mic if that’s what you’re going for (streaming or whatever) but if you’re playing with your buddies or doing general calls, the quality is amazingly clear and there is no feedback or anything.
I live in quite an urban area and there are constant sirens and cars, shouting and just general noise pollution, but the moment I put these on (even without playing any sound) I was impressed at how well they block sound. They fit very snugly on my ears and I’m told my ears aren’t the smallest. When playing games or listening to music or watching anything, I forget that I live in a busy area, so they’re pretty ace. (Unless you’re listening for the door, then you’re ——-.)
All in all I would recommend these definitely if you’re on a tight-ish budget, or even if you aren’t but just don’t overly care about the BEST of everything.
I have had trouble over the years finding comfortable gaming headphones, usually after some time I’m accepting an amount of pain to keep playing and I already suffer from a debilitating illness so even the better sets I have found didn’t cut it for me.
These however so far have yet to cause new any grievance due to the headset themselves, that’s quite incredible. Not only are they not uncomfortable, I find them pleasing to wear, my ears feel comfy. More comfortable than without them.
Moving onto the microphone, the next most important thing for new due to using it for most of my communication outside of my close family, it’s replaced my Blue Snowball Ice, it’s just not worth the space on my desk as these work just as well if not better for cutting out noise. Maybe if I was doing a podcast or something, I’d expect more but for chatting and gaming, I love it. I use it for VoiceAttack and it picks up everything clearly despite my thick Scottish accent, that’s impressive.
Sound quality is really good for the price, surround sound is added through Razer’s own app and it works well with most games I’ve been playing.
Looks wise, not something I choose my gaming equip on but I got the white set and it goes well with my white keyboard and white mouse, I can’t complain, it’s a bonus.
The wire is well protected and long, it has nice easy to use controls. All round it’s a great but of equipment for a decent price.
I think I’ve now created an issue for the rest of my family, as he now can’t hear anyone when they call him. I’ve definitely got him into more trouble than he used to get into.
Can’t complain, although family definitely will!
For the price of 54 which i had paid, You cannot go wrong. Coushining is tip top, noise cancelling in my opinion at a perfect level,
the only way you could hear anything in your house is if someone was to scream for their life and thats all you would need to hear am i right? everything else is blocked out, works really well in game with the thx spacial.. put a new meaning to 7.1 for me. They feel sturdy af, and got a lot of space to play with due to the headset hub, not chance of tight wires etc. Can make the cable/desk management look real nicely… I would definitely recommend
Value for money 11/10
Durability 10/10
Quality 10/10
Pros.
USB adapter is very useful.
Cooling gell feels nice.
Good sound quality.
Good mic quality.
Comfy.
Mute and volume controls on both the headset wire and the usb adapter.
Cons.
Loose fit.
Had to install some software to get good sound through PC.
Audio Bleed out because’ve the loose fit.
They’re good for me and what I need them for but theyre definitely not for pea heads. Fat head only lol.
I hadn’t realised the difference between the two headsets until I borrowed my brothers the other day. I wish I picked up on this sooner as I could have sent it back for an exchange. 🙁
The only negative thing I have to say is that the sound adjustment adapter is for PC use not console, I was disappointed in that.
Other than that I’m happy that I bought them
They’re not as comfortable as I’d hope but I’ve worn them for three hour sessions without any real issues.
The mic retracting is one of the mean reasons I got this. Excellent feature.
No complaints about my mic quality so I’m sure it’s fine.
Sound quality is good but not great. You can’t beat normal headphones at the same price for sound quality so if you want headphones for gaming but don’t need a mic then just use decent headphones.
Very comfortable headset, even when wearing glasses. I use them on both PC and Xbox. Works great with both. The added USB THX remote really makes the audio pop on PC but the sound is great on xbox too.
I wouldn’t call them noise cancelling but I have had my partner creep up on me a couple times without realizing.
The mic audio level in game is great and clear. But for some reason, when streaming, the audio is super quiet and I could not find a fix for this. From what I found this seems to be a problem with this model of headset from Razer.
The Razer software that comes with it works well, but you will need to use it to get the most out of your headset and it can be a little confusing to navigate, and which programs you need to use when and where.
But overall, super happy with this headset. Will be holding onto them for a while.
Purchased this headset to use on the PS4.
Was purchased as au upgrade from my turtle beach 600’s. At 1st try they sounded not as rich sound as my old headset but this can ge addressed by using the bass dial on the remote.
The remote (along with the thx) is meant for pc. You can still use the remote but do not press the mute mic button as this will crash the remote. The easy workaround I use is to mute the mic via the switch on the cord.
Although not as rich sound as turtle beach, i found it far easier to hear where opponents were coming from which I’m happy with the trade off.
I much prefer being able to adjust the volume and chat/game balance via the remote. Also the comfort is excellent.
Would recommend as long as you take the above into consideration so you won’t be disappointed.
If you’re looking for a quick fix for a broken headset, something for your friend, family etc, they’ll love this. Mine still work and I have no issues. Retractable mic, mute button and a wheel for the volume all on the headset.
I use mine on my PC for gaming, music etc and it’s great. You’ll also notice that if you have sound up high and music blaring, it’s great in the respect that nobody else around you would know. Great noise cancellation and retains sounds all for your ears.
If you’re looking for something with real sound power, you’ll need to spend a good 100-250 but this is fantastic and for the price you can’t really complain.
It does the job, perfect for a gift or just a replacement to an older headset.
-very comfortable, the most comfortable headset I’ve ever head. Although they seem big and heavy, they very light and you don’t feel them that much. You can wear them for as long as you want, it doesn’t hurt.
-sound quality is amazing, clear, powerful, even without the synapse driver. However, you really want to install the synapse driver, it improves it 3x.
-man, this gel-infused ear cushions feels awesome.
I don’t write reviews, but now I really have to.
Very comfortable, easily wear for hours without any discomfort.
Retractable mic is great, can hide it back in the can if not being used.
The wire is quite long, which is handy as between rounds or short breaks you can walk with your controller and wear the headset.
Sound quality is good for gaming, I play for online fps and you can really get a sense of where the opponent is.
For the price I’d highly recommend this headset.
Amazing headset, the volume control is amazing and makes listening to your raid leader yelling at you very easy. Can easily toggle the volume up and down until you’ve got your rage levels and music balance juuuuuuuust right.
Overall I would recommend this headset to anyone who needs and upgrade, also if you suffer from horrific eyesight, like myself, the padding in the headset comes with a small area where your glasses would theoretically sit. This is appreciated and makes the yelling so much sweeter to my ears.
The extra THX (DUUUUUUUUUN) box is a welcome addition to my already overflowing Razer Synapse app.
10/10 would buy for my whole guild
For xbox players works jack into the controller but stereo only. USB into xbox does NOT work so dont bother trying then complaining.
Now comfort wise great for extended play but if you wear glasses does become painfull after few hours.
Sound quality is superb went through tons of headsets over the years this one is in my top 3.
Build quality is fairly robust dropped a few times nothing’s broken or scratched.
Mic is honestly one of the best headset mics I have ever used, (not including standalone mics) clarity is superb and omni directional so doesn’t have to be right next to ur face to get an input.
In the Razer Syanpses you can also edit ur EQ for ur ideal perfect sound, and mic setting to boost voice clarity, noise gate to stop picking up unwanted breathing or ambient noise.
Would Recommend

Overall very satisfied by this upgrade from Logitech. 5/5
It is well built, sounds fine, Load enough, the controls on the lead are a lot easier to find that those on headsets that put the controls on the ear cups. No need to charge it like some, and it is comfortable to wear. It’s not absolutely amazing, but works well for the price and seems robust.
Only issue is that the lead end that plugs into the controller (if using on console) is a right angled plug. This gets in the way of you use a controller with paddles underneath (like Scuf or Xbox Elite etc) and you can catch it with your fingers when the game gets frantic. My suggestion to Razer is to put a straight connector on the lead as never had this issue with straight connectors.
I bought a set of these to use with the XBox One X. Audio quality is fantastic, and they are really comfortable to wear for long periods as they go over the ear. They have cutouts in the foam as well so you can comfortably wear glasses with them too. Very neat.
Unfortunately though, they don’t work with the THX spatial audio extension. That’s only for PC, and a shame because I do feel that it does sound a little better than the Atoms plugin you can pay for on Xbox One. Could just be me and a bit of confirmation bias, but either way, these sound fantastic and don’t look goofy like the green gamer-oriented ones do (personal opinion of course!)
My son wanted these so I took the plunge and got them for him. When they arrived they did feel like a higher quality product and you did feel like you had bought a superior product, apart from the fact that these are the only ones I could actually find for sale!
We bought these for a PS4 gold headset and they fit ok
They are incedibly comfortable, most headphones/headsets i have tried hurt your head after long periods of wearing them and must be broken in slowly, however these are perfectly comfable for hours of gaming right out the box.
Pros:
– Very good sound quality (with dolby atmos drivers)
– Extremely comoftable
– Lots of controls
– High quality and great build (mostly metal)
– Easy setup
Cons:
– Short cable between usb sound card/control hub (bad for cable management)
– Out of the bos drivers (synapse THX spatial sound) is not very good (reccomend using dolby atmos for headphones)
– Microphone is a bit wobbly (however it does retract)
Kraken Tournament Edition
Xbox one ps4 wii u and pc tested.
Nice clear speech bothways
Good volumes nice and loud.
No distortion when you crank up your fav shooter and nice quality on adventure games.
The THX dongle for pc (does work on ps4 as a amped headphone) so a little louder than just plugging in the controller, although that’s loud anyway.
Good all rounder tested with dolby atmos and worked a treat on xbox and Netflix atmos supported movies.
Many times in online multiplayer shooters I have spun round and killed players because this headset allowed me to hear them coming. Always a plus.
Comfort.
Light, comfy cool gel earphones, glasses wearers these are excellent to, over head band you forget is there no over sweat issues either.
Durability these will last as long as you look after them, a lot of metals in the build quality, shame the cable isn’t removable incase the wire was ever damaged but not an issue here.
On pc you may find the mic doesn’t work when you plug in your USB THX dongle,
Please install razers synapse software to control the headsets volumes and features and all is perfect.
Hope that’s helps, anyone that reads my reviews know I’m harsh on items and know what I’m on about, I’ve been in the electronics game years and know quality wise what’s good.
These are good. I give overall 8/10 as always room for improvement. A good solid buy.
