In my opinion the Razer Ornata is perfect for people who want to transition from laptop membrane keyboards to mechanical keyboards and i think there is alot of demand for this on the market at a reasonable price point and razer really delivered I would recommend highly.
Been trying to decide which keyboard to get for a while and finally pulled the trigger on this one when it was on sale. Extremely pleased with it, syncs with the death adder mouse nicely, comfortable to use and the padded wrist support is very comfortable. Key response is nice, colours are bright and keys clack with a medium level noise. Only downside is the lights stay on after turning off pc but this can be turned off manually.
I bought this keyboard for my fianc. He was so happy he got this for his birthday.

I purchased a Razer Naga mouse as well as this and the fact you can set them oth to the same lighting settings means they look perfect next to each other.

I have 2x verions of the Chroma ornata v1 for different offices. The clicky mecha membrane and and the quieter membrane one.
The mecha membrane is certainly much better as a typing experience if a lot noiser. So when typing on calls etc the membrane kb is much better.
The matt finish is very nice if a little easy to dirty.
The Linux support for the RGB is pretty good if a little buggy (doesn’t restore profile on resume from suspend or reboot) so might need a script to do that. Can’t seem to get macro support to work. Think it needs a code change to the software build to bind to any key.
Riser legs at the back could be a bit taller. Pity it doesn’t offer USB expansion also.
it has razor written on it and lots of bright lights that do all sorts of patterns. My daughter loves it.

Fantastic build quality. The lights are bright and the with the Razer Synapse software you can customize how the keyboard will react and the light pattern, brightness, etc.
The magnetic wrist rest is super comfortable and a welcome addition.
The Chroma integration will recognize all compatible games and change the lights accordingly or you can choose to download a preset from the website or create your own light setup.
All around a good purchase. Maybe lacking in media buttons and its not a true mechanical technology, but the hybrid buttons are superb and the feedback and clicks are satisfying.
so i bought a new Logitech keyboard a few months ago which was mechanical and found it was typing in letters twice or even just missing letters. this forced me to go back my old membrane keyboard i was using before it got that. was suggested that i go for another membrane keyboard with anti ghosting and i am proud to say this is exactly what i wanted.
Wanted this keyboard as I’m not a big fan of the mechanical sound. Very impressed with the materials and studyness of this keyboard
I got this keyboard to replace my ancient Razer Anansi. After almost a decade of gaming and uni use, the Anansi did not have any squeaks. A few keys just got tired… This one got a sqeaky space bar about two weeks into using it. According to dr Google it’s quite common for this keyboard. One should almost consider it a feature! Other than that it does what it says on the tin. Feels nice, not too loud and the lights are nice. Comfy for both gaming and typing essays. The built-in media controls are a nice touch too.
I have many good things to say about this Keyboard. First of all, the ergonomics are brilliant, the magnetic wrist rest that’s included is soft and plush, it’s a joy to put your wrist on and takes a lot of pressure and pain away unlike when you would normally use your Keyboard flat with your palms. The switches are great on this board, the actuation force is quite heavy which I like and the clicks are tactile and loud, making for a great gaming experience. Also the RGB lighting is very bright and there are many lighting features that can be customised to your preference within the Synapse software. The cable managing solution underneath is very useful for storing the cable out of sight and it’s very easy to route. For the price I paid I can’t fault it at all, it was a bargain in my eyes. A Keyboard of this caliber is a great choice for any Razer fan looking to add to their ecosystem of other Razer products so you can control all your products at once on the software.
This keyboard is amazing. Just upgraded from a cheap little bluetooth one so this was quite the step up. It’s comfortable to use, the keys aren’t too loud and it’s given me no issues. The customisation is absolutely phenomenal. Every key and the Razer logo on the bottom can be programmed individually which I absolutely love. I’m still getting to grips with the program but it’s simple enough once you get the hang of it. The wire is decently long but not so long that you’ll be left trying to figure out what to do with it all.

Great! Brightness is perfect (can be adjusted), software is required to get different lighting effects though, really nice soft keys, not too noisy like mechanical keyboards, but the same feedback is still there. Feels durable!

Very nice feel to the keys. Great variety of light set up. My son prefers it when the lights respond to the game sounds. The symbols seem oddly laid out with the shift-enabled symbols more prominent then the standard symbol.
Absolutely love it, feels great and looks great, very loud clicks, I personally like that but if you want a silent keyboard this isn’t it, also the colour profiles you can choose are really nice.
I don’t do alot of gaming however I work from home alot due to this I wanted:
Something with a nice Wrist rest
Something which felt nice to type on
Something that had reasonable backlighting
And something that wasn’t to loud.
This keyboard hits every point. It is a dream to type on and the wrist rest is the best on any keyboard under 150 easily. They keys are quiet enough that someone in the next rooms can’t hear but have the “click” of a good keyboard. The backlighting it great but I leave it on a “fade effect”.
I would recommend this to anyone, gamers, IT people and people who write for a living. 10/10

It is my second keyboard from Razer and I am very impressed how well is build, lovely colour customisation. It makes “clicking” sound which might be irritating after using 8-10 hours per day. Does require system to start up if you connected via USB 3.0. If you need an access to the BIOS use USB 2.0 works like a charm.

I had a weird glitch when I first plugged it in that the keys were not matching but a restart fixed the issue.

The build of the keyboard is extremely well done and sturdy. I’ve used it extensively for the past year and I can say that it’s as good as when I took it out of the box in which was very well presented. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and if there was one thing that I would change it would be the groove for the cable as it’s quite difficult to press the wire into and I fear that I might damage the wire.
I’ve always been a big fan of razer products as they scream quality and it’s the same case here with the Ornata, the keyboard has an incredibly slick design that has made my setup look great. The lighting is incredible, responsiveness and feel of the keys is spot on. The mecha membrane feature impressed me as it feels exactly like a mechanical keyboard but without the extremely loud clicks, this one sounds just perfect.
The wrist rest feels like luxury, very comfortable and supportive.
A great keyboard for the price, fully recommended.

This keyboard is beaut. I have not yet used it for gaming, but plenty of test typing and cycling through each colour setting via Synapse. The colours are very accurate and nicely match my Razer Baslisk. If you want a ‘mechanical like’ keyboard and not a fully mechanical one due to the higher premium, this will not disappoint you.
The wrist rest is removal and you can also adjust it side to side as it’s only magnetic (definitely not a negative thing) – if you’re gaming for longer periods, the wrist rest is like a pile of clouds.

Best part is – the wrist support really helped my wrist. Keyboard is amazing, and easily customisable. It’s a pity that on windows theres more functions than there are on Mac, but otherwise amazing!

I bought the Razer cynosa chroma keyboard about 2 weeks ago from a local shop and for the price it is utterly amazing. The lighting effects are like no other and since buying this I just have to buy more Razer items. The lighting effects are pretty much endless but my favourite is the wave. You can also pair the keyboard with different devices to make the lighting look even more astonishingly good overall great keyboard. Very happy with my purchase

A really great keyboard as the brand suggests. It doesn’t feel that clacky which is great, especially since I live in a shared house. It’s not that noisy, and it’s not that tiring when you type. The only thing I’m concerned about is that the led notifications for the Num lock and caps lock is interchanged. Caps lock comes first before it. It just needs a little getting used to. But overall, it’s a really nice keyboard.

Overall really solid product, the RGB lighting and it’s software is really customisable, bright and easy to use. The mecha-membrane switches are really satisfying and nice to use. The leather feel wrist rest is really nice and plush, good for those long hours of gaming. The only downside is that some keys are less clicky than others, but that is easy to fix (search up on YouTube). Would recommend to anyone looking for a gaming keyboard which is extremely customisable and comfortable.

I bought this as a present for my boyfriend. He is really into gaming and was so happy with it. It’s also very quiet which is perfect.
Despite the description saying there was damage to the box, it was not as damaged as expected. The item came in perfect condition.
I love this keyboard, clicking sound I wasn’t use to at first but grows on you, it’s so nice to type with and game. Once I have the time, I can’t wait to set up the macro keys to do some gaming justice and quick work.

Good cheap gaming keyboard, keys are fairly quiet when in use, lighting is excellent for the money and programmable in the razer software.
Not mechanical but nice light and key configuration options. I bought this for work as hate the ones in the office, I use a blackwidow 2 for gaming as I prefer the response time and feel of the mechanical keys.
Had this keyboard for over a year now but didn’t have a pc for over 9 months. now back into it I can honestly say I missed this keyboard. everything about it is just perfect for a starter. inexpensive, great quality, very durable and the keys are not too noisy like a lot of the keyboards out there
It Did initially arrive with a fault however I wasn’t mad (it happens sometimes). What I am pleased about was receiving a replacement the day after I sent back the faulty one. Super impressed and worth 5 stars for that.
The keyboard itself is a standard design and doesn’t have much in terms of features (no extra gaming keys or dials etc.) but the lighting is strong (unlike Logitech’s for example) and can be adjusted to your liking.
The keys are ‘clacky’ but satisfying. You can actually relive the clicky parts of each key if you like, something I’ve done for the up/down/l/r keys.
The spongy wrist rest is also pleasant and miles better than the alternatives.
Only change I’d make is to have the memory on the keyboard itself, rather than HAVING to log into the razer software.
This is an incredible keyboard and it feels almost exactly like a mechanical one. The wrist rest is very nice and fun of pillow. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a budget Razer keyboard. The lighting is also very bright and customisable.

2019:Best keyboard I’ve had which is membrane, I like that its not too big, this one is perfect for me, brightness is amazing, adjustable RGB with the razor app you can do 100 different things with the lighting. I’ll add some pictures of how it looks with my setup, happy so far.
2021: update! the keyboard broke in oct 2021, I got it 2019. so it lasted almost two years, I used it for uni work and also gaming so it is worn down. my advise would be to not get membrane keyboards because if something breaks its almost impossible to fix, the rgb is still good its just when I’m pressing certain letters other letters activate for example I pressed “l” and 3 arrows would activate i will press “a” and instead it will press “S”, I tried everything to fix it but nothing. so at the end of the day it was a good keyboard while it lasted but onto mechanical keyboards for me now. Membranes tend to have more faults in the long ru

Perfect keyboard, not too loud but still clicky enough and response enough for what I want. Matches my mouse and headset now so very happy, I’ve had absolutely no issues with it so far and it’s been used intensively for a while now, brilliant keyboard.
Purchased for my son and been using the keyboard for over six months without any issues. It is a quality product and looks good on a PC Desk. The wrist rest that comes with the keyboard is also made of good quality and looks nice alongside the keyboard.

Love the feel of this keyboard, a little noisy, especially the space bar, but I can live with this as other keyboards the space bar is a bit hit an miss. Colours are great, and the ability to define your own RGB layout is awesome. I also like the way it dims all lights except the function keys when you press the FN key!

I’ve been using this for a while now and still love it. Ive not been into PC gaming for as long as some friends and I managed to get this on offer when I first built my PC, they’re all jealous of it! Definitely recommend downloading the Corsair software and using some of the community created colour schemes for different games
This keyboard is very responsive and feels great. Definitely works great as a gaming keyboard and i’d recommend it. There are more expensive “better” keyboards but honestly i think i’d just get this again, its awesome!
Arrived quickly and well packed. My son was at insomnia gaming convention and said he wanted this is it was on offer. He had a razer black widow keyboard previously but this one is slightly bigger with numbers at the side which he prefers. I dont know much about gaming but he is very happy clippity clacking on the keyboard playing games and the colours are nice – good price too as 35 off it on offer just now
I’ve used a logitec keyboard in the past with this same form factor and it’s absolutely perfect for anyone else acustomed to it , very nice satisfying subtle clicking sensation durable and sleek all round probably the best keyboard i have ever owned.

Love the per-key rgb. Gives off some great patterns which you can completely customise through the razer synapse app. Also even though it’s a membrane keyboard, it fits my needs and feels great, especially since it emulates the clicks of a mechanical keyboard, at about half the price! Also comes with a wrist rest too which is nice! Great keyboard!

This keyboard is great and has been very strong for the time I’ve had it for. The feel of the keys is nice and the lighting is amazing, the software is a bit confusing to get the hang of but once you understand it, it’s great.
It’s an amazing Keyboard the rgb is awesome, the only problem i have is razer synapse 3 has to be installed to use RGB as your chosen RGB profile doesn’t save onboard but your key setup is.

I was bought this as a gift since my old deathstalker was pretty old and worn in. I have had this now for just under 3 years and I have to say that it is an absolutely amazing keyboard. while there are much better keyboards for people who are just playing games, this performs amazingly when doing things like writing reports or just doing general work. The palm rest is always comfortable but does require a wipe down every so often.
And now to the actual reason I’m writing this, last night (as off writing) I spilt a pint of coke into this (stuff happens). And after panicking I decided that as it was out of warranty, I would just open it up and see if I could clean/fix it myself. And wow was not only it easy to take apart it was also easy to clean and put back together. Full disassembly, wipe down and hair dry of all of the PCB’s and for good measure all non-electrical parts got thrown into the shower and blasted and then dry it all off put back together and IT WORKS!!!!! Now I don’t recommend doing this if your warranty is valid but hey mine ran out and now, I have a fully working keyboard with only my right arrow key being a bit funny.
So, in the end I highly recommend this product.
This product is brlliant. The combination of all that makes Razer great, with mid height keys, making it easier to move quickly between keys. Looks great, sounds great, feels great. Only issue is that some colours could be richer, for example orange looks a bit pale and yellow, other than that, perfect!
Overall the keyboard is nice. It was my first Razer product and to be honest you pay for what you get. Its quiet due to the membrane keys compared to mechanical, yes not as responsive but still up there in regards to little delay.
The RGB lighting is bright and the software for customisation is really simple to use and has endless combinations.
My main dislike and probably the only dislike I have on this product is the cable isn’t braided like the rest of Razer products. Of course this keyboard is the budget keyboard out of the choices but for a gaming brand you would expect a braided cable to match the rest of the cable (if you use other Razer peripherals)
Overall, 4/5 stars, for a gaming keyboard it does the job. It is very bright with the RGB. Just the non-braided cable lets it down.
This is hands down the best keyboard I’ve bought. I’ve always been lead to believe that all Razer products are very easy to break and flimsy. This is not the case for this beautiful piece of booty. Every key comfortably cuddles your finger as you press them and once you’ve pressed them, you’ll need to visually check just to make sure that you’ve actually pressed a button. Why you ask? Because it’s so quiet that sometimes you might think you’ve missed the key completely. Oh no! There’s no music controls or audio controls! WRONG! FN + F1, F2, F3, F5, F6, F7. The keys even have icons on to show you which is which, how cute.
Jokes aside, the keyboard is very well built, very strong, the LED’s are bright and beautiful and customizable as hecc, useful audio & music controls, quiet and comfortable. I highly recommend this keyboard, I’ve not had it long however so it could break tomorrow for all I know but if it does I’ll make sure I update this with more info.
I wasnt too sure about this keyboard, as i did see some comments about the keys being a bit funky. Where i can see that one or two keys dont quite sound/feel the same, it doesnt really take away from the keyboard as a whole 🙂
