Add the cheese to the pasta, mixing with the small amount of water remaining at the bottom of the mug. 4. Finally, wash and trim the asparagus, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes, then serve with the salmon and potatoes. |

About the RHFM2001BThe Russell Hobbs RHFM2001B microwave has a sleek and stylish contemporary design, boasting an attractive mirror door finish. As well as an appealing look, this appliance also includes impressive functionality, with 700 watts of microwave power providing quick and convenient cooking in your home. The RHFM2001B from Russell Hobbs has Flatbed technology; this removes the need for a turntable to offer a microwave with more usable space. Square plates and casserole dishes that would not fit in a conventional turntable microwave, can now be reheated or defrosted. The flatbed surface is easier to clean than a conventional microwave, so food debris and moisture can be easily wiped away. The diamond cavity structure provides improved microwave distribution by enhancing the reflection of the microwaves inside the cavity. This helps to cook your food more effectively, saving time and energy. | Cooking Functions and FeaturesPre-programmed auto cook menus, such as pizza (reheat), fish, and popcorn, allow you to cook all your favourite foods at the push of a button. What’s more, there’s automatic defrost settings meaning all you have to do is input the weight of the food, and the microwave selects the ideal defrost time, saving you time and effort. Moreover, 5 microwave power levels enable tailoring of your cooking experience. Additional features include a handy digital clock and count-down timer, and for added peace of mind, the RHFM2001B comes with a child safety lock option. Once the child lock is on, it locks the button control so the microwave cannot be activated. | Avoiding MishapsTo avoid any microwave mishaps it is recommended to take extra care with the following: Low moisture foods (eg. cereals, bagels, dried pasta, pulses and chocolate) – These must be cooked on a low power level for a very short length of time, or preferably not at all. High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups) – These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven. Foods containing alcohol – Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite. Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes) – Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape |

Very pleased it was quick delivery excellent microwave easy to use and easy to clea
What a difference from the turntable type, no wobbles in the oven, easier to clean-perfect.
Great flatbed microwave – I hate the ones with the turn plate! One small problem, the door is glass, which shows up every little mark, but that’s just me
I saw some negative reviews about uneven cooking in this oven but I took the chance anyway. Well for me it’s been brilliant.
I haven’t had a single instance of uneven cooking and the fact it doesn’t have the turntable is so much better, meaning you can get much bigger containers in there.
Flat bed all the way for me now.
Great appliance, looks nice no silly turntable cooks well all food types. Nice clear controls, idiot proof as I prove daily.
Perfect for us. Easy to use and so easy to clean as it’s a flat bed.
Having no turntable is so much easier! It still works at least as well. Bright interior light, easy to use, small but with good interior space.
A little more expensive than other microwaves, but the quality is high, it feels very well made & I expect it to last longer than other similar microwaves I’ve had previously.
Got this because I was sick to death of the turntable microwaves that always rust up, no matter how much you clean it up after every use. This is only a 700w microwave so takes that little bit longer to heat things up, but its not a deal breaker. Once you get used to the settings its easy to use, easy to clean and takes larger casserole dishes that would catch on the sides in a turntable one. The outside is shiny and easy to clean too. The dials are easy to use, and apart from it only being a 700 watt, the other downside is the handle. My previous microwave had a button that opened the door, this one you have to pull on the handle. I have the microwave on a shelf and worry that I will pull it off the shelf trying to open the door. Otherwise its a really good little microwave.
Had bad experience with microwaves. I was intrigued by flatbeds as I didn’t know about them so thought I’d give it a go.lived up to reviews I’ve seen so far delighted with it. Strange to see it operating with no turntable but now I’ll always look at flatbeds if I need to renew again. We done to Russel Hobbs. Certainly 19 litre big enough for two people and smaller capacity only means seconds difference to heating time. No complaints
This is great for me being a single guy living alone. It’s easy to clean and being flatbed with no collection of condensation under the turntable because there is no turntable. It is advisable to turn the food during cooking but it works great and I think it will last much longer than my previous models.
We have a very old house and most appliances rust in our none heated kitchen we haved a lot of microwave but never a flat bed so hopefully this solved the problem
I love the simplicity of the dials.
I use this to heat soups, make porridge and cook eggs.
Cleaning is a breeze. Wipe clean and leave the door open to dry and air.
Hi, didn’t receive first one, l was very upset, but lady on phone (Harris) helped me & was so nice told me not to worry. I received one afew days later . All is well now very happy now. Lovely microwave thank you
My first microwave in the 1980s was a flatbed but it had to be exchanged for a turntable model. So for forty years I have endured the stupidity of a multitude of turn table models.Flat bed is infinitely better.Never again a turntable! It is like the duel between Betamax and VHS when the inferior VHS won.
How have we the consumers put up with the lunatic design of the turntable type? When you consider it’s flaws it is amazing that we have.
This microwave is as nice looking as you could expect and its operation is simple. If it lasts well that will make it perfect.
Bought this for my non tech savvy mother and she has confirmed is the best microwave she has ever owned. 10/10 Thanks for making her life simpler.
Upside: easy to clean, cooks evenly, simple to operate, easy to clean, and has an accurate digital timer.
Downsides: A minor one this: takes a little more time to cook being 700W, but the there’s less risk of splatter from soups, beans, etc.
I bought this to replace an older turntable microwave that wasn’t venting properly. The new unit is 700W, so it’s a slightly slower cook compared to the previous 900W unit.
However, this means less mess from soup or similar behind warmed too quickly and on reheating food, we’ve not finding any cold spots. If anything, this microwave heats did better than our last two turntable based cookers.
So far excellent. Would not have a revolving plate again.
The microwave is good to look out, solidly made and easy to use. It is a flat bed so no annoying glass plate in the oven compartment. I would recommend it.
Love this microwave. Looks nice, not having a turntable is brilliant. Its simple to use.
Present for daughter – said “oh thanks mum” and off it went. From the little I saw of it, it looked neat, well made, stylish and durable (and quite heavy !) I heard it ‘ping’ during a telephone conversation so I’m presuming she is using it and it works !
After a year of heavy use, the light doesn’t work or flickers. Now 18 months after purchase And just as much heavy use, it’s still cooking and doing everything it should with no complaints. When it does give up the ghost, I would replace with the same microwave. Best one I’ve ever had.
Bought one with no instructions. Which was much cheaper and downloaded the insurance. Perfect.
The lack of turn table makes no difference what so ever. A little under power, maybe.
The door handle and controls are excellent.
Really nice microwave. Easy to use. Smart looking with mirror door. It is only 700w so not the most powerfull but just means cooking for longer which is no issue.
Smart in appearance. Very easy to clean. No disappointments ye
Excellent microwave value for money and even heat. Modern design.
Product arrive earlier than anticipated, which a a double plus. The product itself looks very compact and smaller than thought. All in all I’m very happy with my purchase.
Good size fits into a small space, easy to use via digital touch button and really easy to clean as it has no turntable!
Really quiet, lose the rotating plate it makes a huge difference
Our old one had a spinning plate. Opted for flatbed and wouldn’t buy anything else. Easy to clean. Nice compact size. Fits big plates and bowls in there. Very easy to operate. Wife’s happy too. Would definitely recommend!
It is so much easier to use than one with a turntable, cooks perfectly and no more oops the turntable is coming out!
Can’t really comment as this was a gift specifically requested. I like the thought of not being restricted by a turntable though so will look forward to hearing how the recipient gets on when they move into their house.
The flatbed is lovely to use and seems to heat evenly enough. It is so easy to clean and can put any plate bowl or cups in.
The reheat function is excellent to be honest I didn’t think it was any good but it really does heat a container of one meal food perfectly. In fact any size because you simply adjust the weight of food.
It also looks lovely as the mirror finish gives high end quality.
I love it.
Sadly I eat ready meals quite a lot so I can accurately compare the performance of this microwave with one of comparable power that has a rotating table. This one has proven so good that it has knocked at least 20% off the cooking times without detrimental affect to the consistency of heating the food. In fact…. the consistency has improved. It still tends to heat food at the edges of the container more than the middle but all microwaves seem to do that. Taking the reasonable price into consideration I’m very pleased with my buy and confident I made the right decision. ……. and it really is nice not to have that fiddly rotating plate. It is much easier to clean and I never had to fiddle about with the plate holder that got out of place all too often. Well done Russell Hobbs.
Compact and easy to use. I didnt want a massive microwave so this is great for me. The wattage is less than my last microwave but it’s still quicker. Because it’s new maybe? I love the fact I can use rectangular dishes
Wanted smaller microwave to save space whilst still able to put dinner plates in. This is great. Unlikely to revert to a turn table one.
Good that it is a smaller footprint. Strange not seeing plates etc not rotating. All works ok.
Great microwave does what it says nice and small. The only minus for is that it doesn’t ring when it finishes to heat the food up in the end.
Other then that a great buy
This was an excellent choice – easy to use -clean – and reliability. Delivered promptly and would recommend.
After my last microwave went rusty under the turntable I decided to look at the flatbed design. This microwave is compact but still big enough for my lasagne dish to fit in. very easy to use and wipe clean after each use. Only 700w but I haven’t noticed any lack of power from my last 800w microwave. Looks good, a bit shiny especially on the dials which are a little difficult to see the selector mark but I’ve got used to that now. Would recommend to anyone wanting a compact, flatbed design microwave at a very competitive price.
Highly recommended, so much better without the nuisance turntable taking up space. Can use a much wider variety of dishes. The different shaped interior walls give even cooking. Much easier to clean.
I love this microwave. No turntable which makes it so easy to keep clean. Just a simple wipe round the a cloth after use – and that’s it. Absolutely love it. Highly recommended.
This microwave is brilliant looking and real easy to clean no messing about with the plate it’s so simple to use lam really impressed with it .
Heats very evenly. Big plus no more rotating plates that need cleaning all the time. Cleaning inside is easy as there is no rotating mechanism.
It doesn’t cook/heat any better than a turntable. The difference comes in cleaning, so much easier and larger on the inside.
A superb micro wave that will meet the needs of most families. It looks very stylish in the modern kitchen and somehow heats food faster than our old 900W one did. The flatbed design makes cleaning a breeze and because you don’t have a turntable, the small capacity is less of an issue because of the extra space.
Does exactly as it should. Most importantly its super easy to clean now.
microwave is very shiny, so much so, that I cant read the settings on the dials without a magnifying glass. Also, the electric cable is so short, it wont reach any of my sockets, as mine are all near the skirting boards, the cable will only just get past the edge of the shelf. there is nothing on the description about the length of cable. it needs to be at least 2 ft. longer. I have used the microwave twice, and it works fine, just cant read it.
Bought this to replace a bigger fancier microwave, which just took up too much kitchen space and had features we just didn’t need/use.
This microwave has a small foot print and is stylish and has a flatbed rather than a rotating plate. So its much easier to clean and can take quite large dishes despite its compact size. Looks great in our kitchen, works well and takes up much less space that our previous one.
Fed up with cheap microwaves that rust and look ugly, went for this unit. I’d seen the flatbed tech walking around a shop and love the idea of not having those annoying platters that always get filthy and fall off their spindle while rotating etc.
This one is brilliant – cooks well, quickly and evenly, looks and feels great and it’s a breeze to keep clean.
More practice than turntable model, it allows to put in and use rectangle dishes.
This microwave is the best one by far i have purchased, Always had a turntabled one, but chose a flatbed instead for a change, Heats up and cooks food brilliant. Easy to use and clean. I especially love the glass bottom inside, makes wiping any spills so much easier than lifting out the usual glass turntable. This microwave is great value for money and looks great, i would definately recommend this one.
Love this microwave. The flatbed means that I no longer have to contend with pouches of rice falling over. It is quite small but big enough to get a dinner plate in. There is only 2 of us so the size is fine. Looks good in the kitchen.
Smart looking, easy to use. Value for money. Very happy
Nice to not have that annoying plate that spins round in other microwaves, looks stylish, easy to clean and works a treat, I love i
Well pleased with this was a bit dubious about a flatbed microwave but there is plenty of room in it easy to use easy controls
Easy to use [at least me an wife think so ] made sponge pudding with it turned out good quick delivery as well recommend it good micowave would buy one again ! if needed i have only had it about 8 wks or so but it should last a few yrs!!
I like this product a lot , so easy to use and square plate fits perfectly . I would definitely reccommend this produc
Fabulous microwave, first time purchase for a flat bed microwave but I love it!
Neat and sleek looking … Recommended
Lovely in my kitchen. Not too big and not too small. Perfect!
and the black colour matches my new white and black kitchen perfectly. The flatbed version ensures no noisy spinning discs that get dirty, so easy to slide plates on and off easily. The flatbed means it is very easy to wipe and keep clean too. Thank you Amazon. Whatever I am looking for , I am guaranteed to find it here which comes with great service and swift delivery.
Bought this item for my daughter she likes it as it is easy to use and just what the seller discribed ….
Brilliant microwave compact in size so saves a small amount of space very easy to use
Very good it’s good not having to mess around with the plate which with me was always a problem.
Very nice, I like that it’s not too strong, haven’t overcooked anything ye
I love this microwave flatbeds are the future really are great i warmed my tea, a cup of coffee and a pepper sauce jug all together because your not restricted to the usual turntable and plate
Great basic microwave with a flat base so no annoying turntable!!! Also it means that you can fit larger plates or square dishes into the oven. Only really use for heating, which it does brilliantly. I bought on offer so it was a bargain and looks smart too.
Highly recommended:)
Perfect Microwave! It is so easy to use and the flatbed feature is great! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new stylish microwave!
Modern, clean finish and good size – slightly smaller which i like as it saves a little space on your worktop. Simple dials and really easy to use. Cooks food evenly through the flatbed rather than rotating and this also makes it much easier to clean. Highly recommend.
Very stylish looking microwave, fits in perfectly with my modern kitchen.
I bought it purely on the looks but the flatbed feature is amazing! can easily fit whatever I want inside without the problem of the ‘spinning plate’ failing off plus its easier to clean!
Will definitely be sticking to flatbed microwaves in the future and this Russell Hobbs model is superb!
Fab large microwave with flatbed meaning no rotating dish which gets stuck because your dish is square. Not only is this microwave far better than the standard microwave but it looks amazing aswell.
Fantastic microwave, great for families as you can get a good sized dish is for cottage pie .
Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a decent microwave
