Absolute great unit. i purchased this as i have really thick brush in my garden and the tri-blade just cuts through it like butter.

the only issue i have had so far is when i left a bit of fuel in the tank for a week or so…. it took forever to get the thing started again.

This works really well, tears up just about anything. It puts my battery strimmer to shame.

This came with an an A5 manual with instructions in about 20 different languages with an almost unreadable print size. Fortunately after some searching of the Internet. I found an manual in English on a manuals site which I had to pay to download. Also when I tried to register the product with Ryobi the model wasn’t recognised! I contacted Ryobi but after 4 days I have had no response.

Once I had a decent manual the brush cutter was easy to assemble and use. Ryobi needs to up theire game on customer care.

This is a powerful and sturdy bit of kit. Get yourselves a mix bottle for oil and petrol (they don’t supply one). As it’s 2 stroke. But it will cut down a lot. I bought some additional attachments and it will run solidly for a good 40 minutes of back and slash. The straps could be more comfortable and better designed as it feels you are carrying it over it actually holding onto your shoulder. I would also say the starting mechanism is a bit fiddly. But heh, this thing is solid and it is a work horse. Just needs a bit of refinement to be 5 stars.

The bush cutter function on this is excellent. It did some really hard work for me and I was impressed by its power and its fuel consumption. I haven’t used it as a strimmer, so can’t comment.

Ryobi need to spend some decent money on creating clear instructions. I don’t want to have to read through lists of model types and their variations. I was really frustrated and annoyed by the instructions that came with this. They made what should have been a straightforward job, difficult.

We’ve been using it for months now and it’s holding up real good with our lawn. The engine is great, it can cut through tough grass ( our grass was 70cm tall ).

It comes in a nice box and the assembly is really simple. Make sure to mix the correct type of oil with petrol 1/10 before you start using it.

My only 2 criticisms would be the strap that goes over your shoulder, it keeps on getting loose and I don’t know how to attach the blade to the strimmer. The instructions seem to be very vague on that point.

This is easy to use nice and light fires up straight away, I think the shoulder strap seems a bit flimsy but only time will tell on this !!

I just used this to brush cut the lawn and it works great. It has replaced an earlier model (which lasted 20 years) and I have purchased this to use the ‘expand it’ attachments. It’s not in the same league as our professional Honda strimmer, then it only cost a 6th of the price.

Bought 2 strimmers/brush cutters from supposedly reputable manufacturers. Both had to be returned due to (known) defects! This one however really is the business. Really easy to start and get the harness on without assistance from another person. This has strimmed and brush cut a very large overgrown allotment without complaining. Totally recommended.

A little tricky on the line feed! Had to dis mantle to get it going after first use! Instructions a bit of a mess. Otherwise a nice bit of kit.

I had this delivered and it was faulty. Nobodies fault as these things happen. (It wouldn’t start)
Amazon were amazing and sorted out a return and replacement straight away. My new strimmer arrived before the old one was picked up and I can honestly say it was worth the wait. Great machine that does exactly what you need it to.
If I was forced into finding a fault it would be the way it’s held, its not the most comfortable but that’s just being picky.

Works well, provides a good cut.
It is quite heavy but will balanced when using the strap.
Have noticed when not used for a while (week) it can be tricky to manually start. Once running works well.

Like the machine, plenty of power. Love the design of the guard which stops a lot of stones/debris hitting you, but would always recommend a face guard/safety glasses with a machine of this strength. Able to be very neat and tidy with this around edges. Not used the brush cutter option yet, but the strimmer option very satisfied. Easy to start, hope that carries on.
Found it was much easier putting the thing together WITHOUT the instructions which due to global trade is just a series of unhelpful pictures that is best interpreted by leaving them in the box.
All in all though, well chuffed with the machine!

Quite a bit heavier than my first RYOBI not fussed with the supporting harness. But it does do a good job.

I’ve only had my brush cutter for a few weeks but so far it’s done an excellent job. The instructions are not easy to use so a fair bit of common sense/ guess work when putting together. Also wanted to change to the blade attachment but gave up after spending an hour working out how I get the cord back out that I’d accidentally wound into the head. All in all very good but early days

I got this for my hubbies birthday, he loves it and has now been buying different attachments for it so it’s a winner, however though I do think an option to this would be to make it possible to tilt the head or another part of the arm somehow as my hubby is tall and to get the cutting section level to the ground he has to stoop which isn’t very good to his already bad back, next model upgrade maybe? Overall very please with it.

Comes with all the tools to assemble. My husband is very handy and enjoyed putting it together. Not sure I would of had a clue. We love it! This is my first strimmer and I think it’s genius. Very happy with it. I didn’t realise you could pull the strings out, when they come off, which is great. It’s light weight and easy to use. I found it difficult to start at first, but after a lesson I could get it started easily. My husband got it started first time every time. Very happy with it. It is very fuel efficient.

I live in France and bought this on the Amazon FR site, where it was actually cheaper than the UK site. I’ve had a Stihl that’s given sturdy service for 25 years, but finally given up the ghost and needed something lighter and more manoeuverable to replace it now that I’m getting on a bit. I was a bit worried that this wouldn’t be up to the job but, so far, it’s been well up to the job. I had no problem with the assembly directions and found that starting and using the strimmer were easy. One niggling point was that the cord in the strimmer head was pretty naff quality and welded itself solid before it could run out. Replacing with a decent 2.4 mm line solved that. Another niggle was the strict instruction to use a totally synthetic 2 stroke oil – not easy to obtain and expensive when you can. I asked Ryobi in both France and UK if I could use a semi-synthetic but got zero response, but asked the question here and got a response that it would be OK. I opted for Stihl HP Super semi synthetic in the end and it seems to run well and smoke-free on that. So far, so very good………..

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersStarted efficiently, cuts wonderfully. However it does need to be assembled, and I am both non mechanical and ham fisted. Instructions are a melange of translated words, and to me, everything tightened in the opposite direction to the one I guessed. The need for a torque wrench was a challenge. But, once assembled, fired up and attacked brambles, grass and small saplings with gusto. hugely pleased with performance.

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersI bought this cutter for my overgrown top garden, I normally use a scythe as it keeps me fit at the same time, but I decided to give this little baby a go, it’s light and well balanced and fairly quiet compared to others that I have used in the past and it doesn’t hurt your hands which is a bonus. It’s fairly easy to assemble and operate and you get an interchangeable strimmer head with it.

I watched a video of it being used on you tube before I bought it and this convinced me to buy one, I’m glad that I did as it’s a great little thing and cuts through anything fairly easy and made an easy job of my top garden.
