Battery life is good but I don’t think it’ll be 180 days like advertised
The video quality is great, audio quality is ok
Motion detection is great, if anything it’s a bit too sensitive
    Installation is a bit fiddly

This security camera is perfect. Literally, no wiring is needed, and anyone can easily mount it. Takes a few minutes to mount and set up, and looks elegant. It uses a battery rather than live wiring, so no drilling holes into the house, or getting an electrician is needed. The battery lasts 180 days on a single charge! The setup was smooth and the app is very clean and well tidied up. A 32GB SD card is included to store video but can be swapped to a larger one. Very good night vision, very clear and you can identify faces. This camera is the perfect camera to place outside of a front door, and the quality is clear, and you can also set up motion detection. A bit pricey, but honestly worth it.

Had a dodgy neighbour for a while who constantly double parks over my space and I wanted some proof for the housing association. Great camera and alerts me any time there is movement outside. Easy to set up and great sense of security with it. Can set up and ask Alexa to show you it and if you buy a 128gb sandisk card on Amazon for 15 you don’t need a cloud subscription and you get 11 days recording before it starts recording over it agai

    Excellent camera

Really inpressed with this item. Good picture, including night vision. Very simple to set up and easy to work with.
The camera itself seems solidly built and connected easily to my wi-fi (if i can set it up anybody can!).
Overall great to have. Would recommend.
    Comes with all instruction needed.

This is a great inexpensive camera, good build quality and easy to install and set up. Picture quality is really good in daylight and night vision. Easy to navigate app buy a pain if you have on more than one device as you have to log in ect. It has Motion detection and records when motion is detected which is then saved to and sd card. All in all this is a good camera for the money, it does everything I want it to and I have piece of mind knowing its there

This camera has very clear videos (one of the best I’ve tried) and the motion detection works flawlessly so far without any real delay. Set up took minutes and having an SD card included certainly makes this set a great option to use directly outside the box without other costs. We’ve had ours installed for a couple of weeks and the battery is still going strong. I would like to purchase a second battery so we can switch one for one so we’re never without the protection but other than that I really can’t complain. I’d buy another without a doubt, much better on areas you just can’t get electricity to.

This is a really great CCTV camera to use especially if you don’t want wires or too much drilling into walls.
I was quite impressed by the quality of the image both in day and night time, the 2 way sound is quite loud and clear but it has a slight delay as well as the notification when someone triggers the sensor which I am used to from my previous wireless camera as well as wireless video door bell so I guess is a common thing for wireless video devices probably due to the signal going through the wifi router.
The motion detection works spot on every single time so I can rest assured that if someone gets close to our house I will get a notification, also good for a piece of mind if delivery drivers leave the packages in front of the door where everyone passing by can see them.
I really like and appreciate that the rechargeable battery can be easily removed just by unscrewing the bottom rather than having to remove the whole camera from the wall but this also means that anyone can do it just as easily so I’ve placed it out of reach.
It comes with a 32GB SD card included which I’ve replaced with a 64GB just to be sure that will be enough in case I want to replay a video from last week for example. Anyway, the recordings are overwritten so the oldest will be deleted to make space for the new.
The installation on the wall proces was easy and straightforward, although it comes with easy to follow instructions, I did struggle a bit to pair it with my phone due to some wifi issues apparently but I managed after restarting my router twice.
Overall I am quite pleased with it, it is definitely a great camera kit.

Looking for a single CCTV security camera which can do it all for under 100? Look no further than this one by IMOU!

This security camera is packed full of features from AI human detection to 2-way audio to ensure that your home is protected at all times and all angles are secure. I really like the design of this cctv camera. It is beautifully sleek and compact in design. It isn’t bulky and tacky, but rather has that modern look which I assume will deter criminals. The quality of the camera is good and is of a 2.5k quality. This means you can still see face details in various daylight conditions. As for night-time conditions this is where this camera falls short a little, it is still in colour but the resolution begins to drop to around 1080p. Still adequate, though not as good as premium competitors.

Very easy to setup with a handy video instructions on this listing. The battery lasts for a supposed 180 days which is great so only 1-2 charges will be required a year. Audio quality and feedback is also clear and consistent, with no lag or delay. Same applies with the video. No cloud storage subscription is required which is a huge pro compared to competitors who charge about 10 a month for storage. Rather, a 32gb SD card is provided which can later be used to upload important footage to a hard drive and then emptied to be reused constantly. A more cost effective CCTV camera solution.

Overall, a 5 star product, would recommend!

Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe price and reviews made this an attractive buy for me, the camera has been manufactured very well looks nice quality materials and sleek design. Very easy to set up and app actually works really well with it.
I purchased this purely to see what rodents are lurking in the corners of my loft (as I have no idea how there getting it so every night) so I have been putting it in different corners to help.
Before I catch Roland I need to find entry point and stop any others get in and this camera is helping me pinpoint where the activity is nicely! Saves spending a fortune pest control. The only downfall is the motion records the movement slightly after it has detected anything, not sure if it’s settings but I need to investigate. Overall very happy and would highly recommend!

Easy setup but instructions are not 100% clear, password for connecting to camera is not listed anywhere (it’s the “safety code” on camera)

video quality is good being 4mp but I found the AI human motion detection doesn’t seem to work as designed and detects any movement as seen in the video, received an alert for moving vehicle even though I had AI human detection turned on.
Overall good quality with 256Gb SD card storage a plus (since most support 128gb at this price), would’ve been even better with two way audio & spotlight /alarm for deterrence but this can be found on other Imou models.

    Good camera but motion detection…

When it comes to protecting your home, or work, one of the best things to get is some form of CCTV system, or just a camera, which this is. A simple camera which connects to the internet and lets you keep an eye on your home, or work, whilst you’re out and about.
This camera is basically a square(ish) box which has a lens near the top and a battery in the base there’s also many electrical bits and bobs inside too which make this work.
Anyway, this box camera is a mere 110mm tall by 60mm wide and about 55mm deep.
It can be attached to a wall, or ceiling, or fence, using the supplied stand and screws. Or, you can simply have this sitting on a shelf
Setting it up took a little effort I managed to get my phone connected eventually. You will have to make an account with IMOU and, if you want to have your footage stored in the cloud, you’ll have to pay a few quid a month for the privileged.
Or, just stick a 128GB micro SD card into the camera, where the battery goes, and store things on that. (You do get a 32GB microSD card
Once set up, connect to your phone, or tablet, and you’ll get some crystal clear footage of what the camera’s pointing at.
The camera has a motion sensor on it and, once motion is sensed, a message is sent to your device (phone/tablet) to let you know that someone’s there. You will be able to see the person detected on your phone and the camera will then record who ever’s there on the cloud.
The picture and sound quality are great, although there is a slight lag between movement and that movement showing on your phone. But with a good quality internet and phone this lag should be minimal.
The app, once downloaded, installed and subscribed to the cloud is easy to work around and self explanatory.
In all, a cracking little camera that does what it’s supposed to do. And it doesn’t look out of place sitting on a shelf but it can go on a wall using the bracket in the box.

Protect what's important to you by keep an eye on it 24/7

If you need a good security camera this is the one! We have had two other cameras (not this brand) in the past but did not record the best. We needed something for our front door that would get the whole angle and this was perfect. This camera also came with two mounts. We decided to use the magnetic one because we thought it would be easier to take down when we need to charge it. We haven’t had to charge it yet so we will see how long the battery last before we do. We are possibly going to get a second camera for our backyard because we really liked the bright light you can turn on. We don’t want to use it so much for the front door but in other spots the light would come in handy. We’ve had issues with people sneaking into our backyard so I think getting one for the backyard will help. The only negative thing i have to say about this but feel like any camera will have this issue is that at night time it picks up the bugs outside. So i do get a few notifications if it picks up a big moth or something. Other than that this is a great camera and definitely worth your money!

A very very good camera, with battery charger cable and remote UI app to check on it whilst you are away,

It is used indoors, and you have the option of wall mounting, as well as recharging from the back of the camera and running the cable down the wall mount too, to save unplugging and doing it manually, it tells you on the easy to use app what the battery level is, and has various settings to record, sound an alarm and has a torch led spot light that can be activated via the app too!

very customisable settings, safe zones and human alert notifications, very sharp image and has a 32GB card included, and branded as the same as the camera kit.
works on both 2.4 and 5Ghz networks.

Contains Digital zoom, and can support a higher card if needed, but does have options to use a subscription cloud service, but don’t have to if you don’t want to.

I found that build quality especially good, and will be very interested in other products from Imou, as they are, so far, reliable in its delivery.

Well produced, clear sharp image, rechargable, perfectly adequate UI too!

A very simple to set up security camera which is powered by a rechargeable battery. You download the app, connect your smart phone and scan the QR code, insert the battery and press the reset button to turn it on and then just follow the instructions on the app. You can then save images and videos on micro SD card and then back them up using the Imou encrypted cloud service. Data is secured under bank-level protection. The device has a built-in speaker and microphone which allows you to converse with people or pets and it has protection to avoid the occurrence of false alarms. All in all a very good piece of kit for the security conscious which looks very impressive and in my opinion is well made.

This is a fantastic little all in one system. It consists of a camera unit which includes a chunky rechargeable battery which can be removed. You can charge the battery through the camera case if you want to which means you can leave it constantly plugged in without having to recharge it.

You link the camera up to your home Wi-Fi system through the app which you need to download. This was painless and took no time at all. And with that, you’re good to go. The camera automatically records when it detects motion, defaulting to the supplied 32 GB microSD card. You can also record video to a proprietary cloud service that you have to subscribe to.

The picture quality is excellent and very clear. Additional features make this particularly useful and versatile: you can switch on a light to warn an approaching person, and you also have two-way conversation functionality through the inbuilt speaker and microphone, so you can talk to whoever is there from your phone wherever you might be, as well as see them.

In fact the only downside I can see with the system is that you can’t switch it off, either on the camera itself (fair enough) or through the app. So if you want to switch it off you need to take the battery out. Not the most elegant solution but there we are.

In any case, you get a lot of bang for your buck with this and it is highly adaptable to any number of situations where you want added security.

    Really great value.

    Excellent home system

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery impressed with this product which delivers maximum value for those on a budget.

Positioned correctly high above doorways, and in collaboration with the app, it can provide real peace of mind when you can’t be there.

Picture quality is good for both footage and individual photo captures and it comes with an SD card for storing images – though it’s compatible with bigger capacity cards too.

Not perhaps a security solution in itself, when teamed with other products, it can become part of a comprehensive audio/visual security system.

This camera and software is a good all rounder. I have no major issues with it really. Perhaps it’s my understanding of the quirks of technology. If you want a good no major thrills camera get it. As it does function well at the basics, However my experience so far…..

I’ve already had to reset it as it refused to reconnect to the software and network. Thankfully I was able to reach the reset button which was the last step after all else fails. However in general it is good and the image quality is also good. At night I actually found switching the flood light on detection and smart night vision off for plain old good infrared as the light exposure in my opinion reduced the coverage and detail in my situations, so be prepared to tinker around a little. I also have a bug bear with the “Human Detected” motion sensor. It is exactly that “motion” it is NOT anything close to AI or with differentiation of a human as it triggers with the weather such as rain or snow for example. I find I have to mute notification during bad weather as it triggers all the time and that is with the settings reduced. Even as I’m writing this. I just use record and overwrite constantly either way and the detection as an added step for when it does work as intended. So others that say it only records when detection occurs is not true.

I do not use the cloud service, it does everything you need if you use an SD card. It simply overwrites in time as you would with a standard set up. I’m not sure if there is any other value points with cloud other than storage.

Finally, be careful when setting up and drilling using the template. I’d marry up the device to the direction you need as the bracket needs to be set up with the groove and drill holes to allow you to move up and down, left and right. If you put the screw holes in with just the template, you may find limitation in the desired angle. The central hole is what it is and you need it to get the cables through. Unless you do a surface job.

Bit long, but I hope this helps.

(The attached screenshot shows an example of the timeline and recording. The amber lines are where detections have occurred).

    Good Setup

It is a really good product, The app works well on Android it is almost perfect. They just need to work on the Detection as it seems too sensitive even when adjusted down, but it does work well. It allows you to easily review recordings remotely but the only irritation is that they don’t allow you to download footage. I would rate this much better than other products that force you to pay for cloud storage. A 64GB sd card takes weeks to fill up at HD resolution.

Good value for money, could have been better designed i.e. little thing but make a lot of difference in installation the power lead would be much better with plug into unit so that could be fed through holes from interior power points as is no way of disconnecting transformer plug from camera making installation a lot more difficult than needed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersArrived well packaged and protected

Good instructions and QR code for app installation

IMOU app is on APPLE and GOOGLE PLAY stores rather than direct download which offers some extra security.

3.6mm camera lens size – this determines the field of view and zoom level. 3.6mm provides about 78 field of view (although listed as 108 by IMOU) and is likely suitable for most CCTV type uses. Two rules of thumb are smaller the number is, the wider the viewing angle will be; but also images will appear smaller and further away.

You have three video storage options 1. interal Micro SD card; 2. NVR or 3. Imou Cloud storage. We prefer the local Micro SD card and will be looking into a NVR storage but as yet are resisting the option to store in the cloud.

Supports up to 256GB SD card – none provided sadly – obviously didnt expect 256Gb but these are cheap nowadays and was expecting a small card as a starter.

IP67 where the 6 = Protection from contact with harmful dust; and the 7 = Protected from immersion in water with a depth of up to 1 meter (or 3.3 feet) for up to 30 mins. Best to position this is an area out of the rain to prevent raindrops on the camera

If you are using the App you get near real time instant motion-activated alerts to your mobile phone App.

This is an outdoor camera and can withstand (though we have not tested) temperatures ranging from -86 F to 140 F which in Celsius is -65C and 60C which is more than suitable for UK weather conditions.

Built in microphone to pick up sounds

Human detection so your alerts aren’t birds flying past.

For the money, it’s a good camera. There is an app which you can download, which allows you to set the night vision, format the SD card from your phone (so you don’t need to take the SD card out of the camera), view the image from anywhere as long as the camera is connected to wifi and take snapshots. The night vision is particularly good. The camera can be set indoors or outdoors, and as long as you turn the light off the camera, the night vision works well through glass (with no obvious reflection). It’s well made, good quality and can be put almost anywhere. It is mains powered though, so bare this in mind if you are putting outside. It also can be wireless or connected to an ethernet cable. Downside is, it won’t connect to a 5G wifi connection, only 2.4G. The SD card can fill up quickly, but it does take different sizes and the resolution can be adjusted. All in all, this is a good security camera, works well and gives peace of mind.

I have been fortunate enough to review a lot of cctv cameras over the years, but I always enjoy picking up a new IMOU camera because they offer the best value for money and versatility of any home camera in my opinion.

The case is a strong plastic with a strong fixing point and easy adjustment. It’s not vandal resistant but it is built very well and goes well out of reach of anyone mischievous. The setup process is the easiest I have come across, just scan the qr code and it’s done. I can save it to the cloud for a small fee, or install and SD card or save it to my NAS, or all 3. I can view the camera from anywhere and get notifications to my phone and watch the motion detection.

The only thing it’s missing is power over Ethernet. Which professional cameras have, I have to install the included power which is only 3m. It does work over WiFi and Ethernet which is a bonus.

Overall this works perfectly and I haven’t had any issues to date!

    Big fa

Installed this in the conservatory rather than outside due to it needing plugging in, slight down side is it does not pick up movement out side the window even on the most sensitive setting but that’s not the end of the world, picture quality is great and took around 5 minutes to set up for the price no complaints, only thing I have not figured out yet, I can here all sounds but can’t speak to anyone, probably something I am not doing right.

    4.5* Wifi security camera.

I was sent this in return for my honest opinion on it.

This is quite a good little security camera for the price. I currently have blinks and wanted an additional camera at the front so we tested this one. This camera can be connected via ethernet or you can use it wirelessly, which is good.

The camera is a nice design, not too heavy, seems durable and it’s weather proof. The size is roughly 7cm long, 9cm wide and 14cm deep. There are two 8cm long antenna on either side of the camera. The camera has a small length of cable, which attaches to the power cable, giving you around 300cm in length, to work with, this has a UK plug on the end.

The camera works with an app called ‘Imou life’. This is relatively quick and easy to set up, connect and get going. You can have up to 4 cameras, which will all be linked together on the app.

The app screen gives you a small view, or you can expand this, to a full screen view. You can record and take pictures from the live view. You can hear through the camera but I don’t think you can talk through it, which is a shame.

You have human detection and motion detection, which works quite well, this will notify you, when you open it will take you to live view. You can set it up so that the date and time is on the screen also.

The image is clearer than expected for a 4mp camera. This did lag a couple of times, I think this could of actually been due to my internet connection though. When I gave a direct source through ethernet, this then worked perfectly.

The night vision works well, not incredible but definitely enough to see what’s going on.

For the price, I would recommend it. Definitely a cheap, easy and effective way to keep up security within your home or workspace.

    Good for the price

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI wanted a cctv camera and looked at lots. I wanted one that I could fit through the window without drilling holes ideally but also one with a good quality picture. I really did spend days and days looking at lot on Amazon and lots of youtube reviews.

In the end, I settled on this because it had the promise of no cloud storage needed: it saves to micro SD card. It’s wifi, so I can ignore the supplied Power over Ethernet cable and just use the thin power cable to power it up and it gave a promise of great image quality.

I kid you not, from it arriving, it was installed and working in half an hour and it was a doddle.

In my case, I leaned out of the upstairs window and attached it to the underside of the eaves using the supplied template. I coiled up the ethernet lead as I’m not using it. I put some heat-shrink tubing on the power connector to waterproof it and used a hot glue gun to glue the white power cable down the side of the outside of the window and though the hinge and in to the inside.

You end up with a no-drill/no-hole installation which works a treat.

I’m so happy, I’m going to get another for the back!

Excellent quality much better than I expected. And a no-drill installation for me!

For the price this kit is excellent, however. the instructions are just pants, so much so the maker (& also seller) sends you an email with top tips to “easily” set it up which makes about as much sense as the supplied instruction booklet; after some re-reading & head scratching I did figure it out and it then worked well.

The camera has a really clear full colour HD picture with a good field of view, the night vision is equally good with a clear night time black & white image even in total darkness; it also comes with sound recording which was surprising for the price. The apps for smart phone and PC are quite good, however, they really push the paid cloud storage plan, which is irritating. The functionality of the software is generally good but there should be a continual record function rather than just record when motion is detected or when you push the record button which is then stopped if you access any other part of the app or it goes into sleep mode which it does quite often, which appears to be a sales device for cloud storage subscription. The other related issue is the motion sensor sensitivity which can be problematic with multiple activation due to wind movement of trees and plants etc; you can adjust the sensitivity level and you need some trial and error to get this right. The connectivity range of the WiFi is impressive as I have the camera at the bottom of my garden without any drop out.

All in all this is a very good value camera and with a little tweaking of the functionality could be really unbeatable, hence the 4 stars rather than 5; having said that and despite the issues previously mentioned, I would still recommend this camera as a good value option with the functionality of much more expensive models.

    UPDATE:
After contacting the maker/seller you can indeed do both motion activated recording and 24/7 continuous recording, however, again poor instructions cloud the issue.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLove this camera. Purchased it for a replacement of another WiFi outdoor security camera which kept constantly dropping off the network. I decided on this one due to the price and because I already have a couple of Imou indoor cameras which are very good quality.

This one has excellent build quality and seems as though it will be able to withstand the elements. Connectivity-wise, no drops at all and the picture quality is just fantastic, particularly when set to HD mode. At night time you can set to colour night mode rather than the standard IR night mode, which gives a great colour picture which doesn’t take away at all from the quality of the captured footage.

The app works very well. Easy to use and to extend to add more cameras – which I will do so soon. It gives nice timely alerts to when motion is detected, which it does in an intelligent way. I highly recommend.

    A fantastic picture!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product has proven to an excellent purchase. I’m no Tech head but the IMOU Bullet 2E gave me no headaches to set up. The build quality is superb and easy to follow set up guide was a breeze. The process of setting up and registration of the device was seamless and took no longer than 10 minutes!

Picture quality is excellent and view at night very clear. Motion sensor is excellent! With AI sensor it can distinguish between humans, dogs and other Animals so as not to set of false notifications. The spotlight and Voice function are an added bonus.

Price versus quality. Perfect worth the investment to secure the property and give peace of mind. As far as a SMART device goes, it does work with Alexa and very quick to use the Alexa App to connect.

    Excellent Camera

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersFirst Bullet 2c was a present from my daughter but following pretty simple installation & initial evaluation I purchased and fitted a second one. Both of these now give good coverage of the complete front of my house and driveway.
In my case I also opted to fit a high capacity Micro SD card (128 Gbs) into the slot of each camera, thus allowing local storage and /or iMou’s Cloud stage plan/s if desired. One further point worth mentioning, I think, is that it’s likely you’ll need to buy an extension cable with a male + female connector plugs – one or the other at each end. This permits the adapter cable supplied with the camera to be plugged in from outside the premises to a reasonably conveniently situated 240V mains socket inside the house and also being within good WiFi coverage of the router if using WiFi rather than Ethernet cabling.
I hope this review and my experiences with this product to date will be of help to someone somewhere.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHave installed this outside underneath the eaves pointing up the road. Great field of vision, quality feel to the camera, looks much more expensive than its price, crystal clear HD (remember to take the film off the front we didn’t!). Power cable over 3m helped with the installation up high outside plugged in inside. All the “detection” is configurable which is important depending on the location / use of the camera (inside / outside / cars / pets / kids / audio). Using micro SD and will look at the cloud storage option too. Great app, totally intuitive. This is my second Imou camera I have a Ranger2 inside pointing out when we are at home and in when we are not and they are on the same app and I have to say totally delighted with both. 5 stars and will buy 2 more at least.

The app is impressive allowing the completely control of the camera from it. The camera itself does a great job of detecting motion and it does so in an intelligent way, which ensures that you only get alerted to human detection. Alerts are then sent very quickly to mobile via the app.

The picture on the camera is great in the day but so very impressive at night. Very clear. Excellent for our peace of mind.

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersInstalling it at my garden shed is easy and straight forward. Just download the app and follow the onscreen instructions and it took me half an hour to have it all set up and ready to go. You get option to record to a SD card (no included) or have the footage sent to their cloud service.

There is a encryption option where you can have all the video footage are encrypted so no one can have access to your video even if they managed to get access to your footage.

Both day and night video is clear and of high quality, I can watch the live feed or browse recorded video via my mobile phone anywhere in the world as long as I have internet access.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis item arrived safe and well packaged.
Included in the box was a very well built camera, with a USB lead and 3pin UK plug to power the device. A very well laid out instruction book is also included. This has all the details needed to connect and operate all aspects of this camera. It’s got plenty of pictures and screenshots included so it’s easy to know you’re doing the right thing.
It was very easy to find the app (there’s a QR code in the instructions or it’s easily searchable) and download it to my phone through Play Store. Once registered the camera connected within seconds. It was extremely straightforward.
The app is full of gadgets, and can fully control the camera from anywhere you’ve got internet signal.
You can record, change filters, change resolution, listen in, talk through etc etc. It’s packed with features as listed in the product spec.
This is one of the most advanced cameras that I’ve used. This is easier to connect and holds connection very well. It’s also got far more functionality! I wish it was around when I bought the first camera, as I would love to have a few more of these around the house.
These really do bring great peace of mind! And if the worst ever happens, fantastic evidence too!
    I highly recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a really good camera for the price. Good coverage but obviously in order to achieve this it is a fisheye style so clarity is sacrificed for the extra wide angle. There is no more IFTTT support. It was removed earlier in the year which is disappointing but it does support Alexa. You can turn on/off the light and siren as they appear as seperate devices in the app. Really nice!

If anyone is having issues with displaying the camera view in Alexa, you need to change the video encoding on the second channel to h264. There’s a couple ways of doing this but you can do this easily obtaining the Dahua SmartPSS application (I did this on my PC) and updating the camera config. As soon as I changed this setting, it worked perfectly.

Looked at this after an email from the vendor having bought their bullet camera. The LOOC uses motion detection PIR trigger as well as pixel movement, and seems reliable. Have contacted their support about difference on the app for event markers – left hand side of picture shows cloud option has event pics along timeline, but right hand side when viewing from the local SD card does not – so needs extra steps to view. They’re responsive to support messages, and have passed the request to the developers.

Impressed by the app, and cameras generally.

Versatile when standalone, as well as using cloud

A super outdoor camera. The picture quality is great both day and night and it has the advantage of being able to turn down the sensitivity for motion detections. You are also able to select areas of the camera’s vision to turn off motion detection which has been effective in stopping getting frequent alerts when my trees were moving in the recent windy weather. I did find the siren slightly disappointing. It isn’t very loud and you really wouldn’t want it keep going off at every motion alert either. So it has been turned off. The app is easy to navigate and it was very easy to set up. It also features Alexa integration. This enables you to show the camera on screen devices and also turn the light and siren on or off by voice command. Although it only alerts for motion it does record all the time on the sd card which you can access if necessary and you can also zoom in on stored videos. One downside I have found is that the light is going on and off all night long due to activation from moths and flies flying in front of the camera.

I was so impressed with my first order of these that I ordered 4 more. It’s a very good and smart security camera.

Setting it up was easy – it was effortless to set up using my iPhone to achieve the pairing. The app works very well with it as well. With us having so many IoT devices paired with Alexa, this was easy to set up. Unlike the previous system of cameras that I used, these ones have a much better viewing angle and overall a more clearer picture.

I like very much that it has built in deterrence. It works very well showing a spotlight and alerting a potential unwelcome visitor via a siren. The camera itself seems smart – only really picking up human movement – our previous one would pick up movement from one of our bushes – very frustrating – no such annoyance with this camera though.

Very happy with these. We have had them up for about a month now and they are still working well and we have that peace of mind when at home at night or away from the home.

I have replaced all my smart cameras with these

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this camera to replace a netvue vigil camera which broke. With the netvue camera, the motion detection was absolutely rubbish and would trigger every couple of minutes for seemingly no reason, so I wanted a camera which had a motion detection I could actually turn on and use. After a lot of research I decided to go for the imou looc and after a couple of days of use I am definitely impressed. Although I have only had it for 2 days and I just have the motion detection enabled at night, I’ve not had one false motion alert yet which is 100 times better than the previous netvue camera I had installed in the same place. I’ve tested the motion detection by walking into the activation zone I set up and it sent an alert notification to mine and my wife’s phone straight away, so it definitely seems to work accurately! I just installed a micro SD card in the camera so it will record continuously as well, which is a good feature to have and also set it up to work with Alexa, so I can view the live feed on my echo dot and also trigger the light or the siren through Alexa. The picture quality on the camera is excellent and the imou app works well and is fairly easy to use, although it did take me a few minutes of playing around on it to work out exactly what some of the settings on there are for. The light on the camera is quite bright and lights up a fairly decent sized area when in total darkness and even though the siren isn’t really loud, I think it’s still a good feature to have and would certainly draw attention to the camera if sounded. The one thing I would like to be able to do with the camera but cannot, is to enable the light to come on at any time when motion is detected, and not only when the camera is in night vision mode. The only reason for this is because the area where I have my camera installed is lit up at night by down lighters on my house. This means the camera never actually goes into night vision mode and so the light never comes on, unless I manually turn it on through the app. This is only due to where I have my camera installed and when I turn the downlights off and trigger the motion detection on the camera in night vision mode, the light does come on. It would just be good if I was able to set it to come on when not in night vision mode to work better for my particular setup.
Overall, this seems to be an excellent security camera and at a very good price.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought the camera for security monitoring around my home but also for use as a wildlife trail camera running from a battery.
This is a greate little camera! I have bought many IP cameras over the years and this one is fully featured and excellent value for money. It’s so good I have now bought 2 and I expect to buy more.
It has really good picture quality both daytime and night-time with the built-in infrared light, the smartphone app is not perfect but it’s perfectly adequate and provides nearly all the functionality that I need. There are also desktop apps you can download from the manufacturer which give access to much more detailed configuration and access from your computer such as the video stream bitrate, compression codec, audio parameters and resolution of picture.
The motion detection is reasonably good and you can configure parts of the image to be excluded it will then save video to an SD card that you put inside the camera
The videostream can be accessed remotely via any standard media player over rtsp this allows capture and storage on my local computer network.
The Wi-Fi on the camera is amazing it will pick up usable Wi-Fi signal in locations that my smartphone will not even when it looks like there’s no network at all.
The camera is USB powered and this is extremely useful because it means that I can easily just connect it to a USB battery pack and put the camera in any location I like. I have even managed to successfully set it up with a small solar panel and battery and have it running 24-hours a day outside. It uses approx 400mA at 5V even with the infra red on.

There are only a few small downsides but the benefits outweigh them:
1 it does not appear possible to download saved videos from the camera that have been saved on the SD card directly You can play them back and record them to your smartphone but that seems to be the only way
2 the initial setup instructions for the camera and the method of configuring the Wi-Fi are rather flakey and you end up having to enter in the serial number manually in order to configure the camera, but this is just a minor inconvenience that you only have to do it once. it also seems that you can only set up the camera using a smartphone and using no other method.
3 you can configure multiple Wi-Fi networks on the camera but it will not automatically switch between them it seems. you need to connect to the camera and manually choose the alternative network in order to make it switch over.

**IMPORTANT** the QR code and safety code that’s needed to set this up is on the ‘CABLE’ not on the box. All the videos shows customers scanning the QR and safety code on the box. It is a tiny tag on the cable.
The camera is excellent. Two way speaker, security light, alarm and night vision. Can’t fault it. Very impressed, it does exactly what it says and for half the price of other security cameras I looked at. The company should definitely let people know where to find the codes, I almost sent this Great piece of kit back.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’m really impressed by this IOT (Internet Of Things) CCTV Camera. It feels very well built and there was clearly consideration put into the design especially with the waterproof SD Card slot, The mount being adjustable and very versatile for multiple angles and positions of installation. It’s impressive! The IMOU Life App is really easy to navigate and 24 A Year for 7 Days of Event based recording seems reasonable especially against competitors offering similar (although it would be cool if they had a package for full time recording too). I personally installed my camera by driving the provided screws into my soffit (plastic) with ease. Really impressed overall and I would highly recommend it for the price point especially if it’s just to focus on an entry point etc. I would love to see a dome versions of this camera or one with higher resolution (4mp/8mp) and slightly better night vision (don’t get me wrong – the night vision is great compared to most “smart cameras” I’ve tried but everything is a little blury past 13ft for me. I have and would recommend this product to friends and family who need a simple security solution.

It has a good frame rate and I never lose connection.

I started with 1 LOOC camera which is great as it has an acceptable floodlight and siren on it, this doesn’t but has better range and better night vision.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this camera to replace some Neos we had, main reason for was to be able to view the 24/7 recordings on the MicroSD card on the App!

3.5 days worth of recording with a 32GB card!

It was easy to set up and the picture quality is fantastic!

There’s a couple of negatives towards this camera though.

The USB cable is attached directly to the camera, so had to purchase a USB extension cable to reach desired area, without drilling through walls!

The App is good, but takes a long tome to load up footage via Wi-Fi! And can take a upto 30 seconds to view live mode!

I also bought this so I could set up a NVR recorder, however found out that this camera only produces a video resolution of 720480 via RSTP! So not Even 720p HD! So rather disappointed in this!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBefore i write a rave review of this product… please note that when you buy this item and try to connect it to your network. Pair the item using the serial number and NOT the “smart” app setting.
I drove myself loopy trying to set up this camera, but then i went back to the reviews and read one where another customer had the same issue….. i then tried to pair the camera using the serial number and in under a minute i was up and running!!

Anyway great camera, slightly bigger than i imagined, but not big by any means. Item seems very robust and well made and picture is very clear and crisp. I brought this version as it was for over my front door and im please to say the wide angle lense is very wide without causing destortion.
Will be using a 5m usb extension cable to power the camera on final install as the 3m cable doesnt reach to my power source. Brought 64gb sd card for recording function as didnt want to pay for the cloud storage…items says they support up to 128gb sd card thought i would see how i go with the smaller ones.
Great simple to use and access app. Light on front is very very bright and speaker and sound seems very clear. Not wanting to cheapen or dampen the appeal of this camera, but love how it looks like a little robots face too….. looks less industrial than other cameras on the market.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought this camera because I wanted a ‘ring’ brand video doorbell, but having a friend who has one I was worried I might suffer the same problems he has of connectivity issues. As someone who works in IT I recognised that a WiFi antenna can make all the difference, and knowing that IMOU are owned by ‘Dahua Tech’ who make truly exceptional products I thought this would be right for me. I wasn’t wrong.

The setup was exceptionally fast. I just downloaded the free App to my iPhone from the App Store, scanned a couple of barcodes, inputted my WiFi passcode (into the App on my iPhone), let the devices squeal at each other, and Bob was my uncle.

I plumped for a floor level installation, behind a front garden wall. Three screws and plugs were supplied, and I already had a power point waiting outside the front of the house (AAA batteries could also be used). The power cable is VERY long (3 meters, I think) and so I just wrapped up the excess. See picture 4. You might be able to make out the white device behind the wall, amongst the pebbles, top left of picture 5, circled in red.

After adjusting the sensitivity to 1/7 (it was even being triggered by the headlights of passing cars on level 3/7) and excluding certain areas from detection (I don’t want to know when my neighbours come and go!), all using the App, the device has now been installed for 36 hours and has saved me from missing 2 deliveries! One, a postman who was writing out a ‘red card’ to say I wasn’t home (see picture 4- and yes, I was home…) but an alert popped up on my phone and I caught him as he was heading away from my front door.

Overnight, it caught the culprit who has been digging my flowers up in the front garden (darned fox! Picture 3) and this afternoon a schoolboy who was taking stones from the same area to throw at his (supposedly even more annoying) mates. The definition is so good I could make out his school badge, even on the ‘standard definition’ setting (it also goes up to ‘HD’. See picture 1 for school badge and picture 2 for the handful of stones. Caught red-handed). The sound recording so excellent that I could hear them screech as he hit them with his well-aimed throws, even when they were half way down the street. By then, I was already out the front (which it also caught on camera.

Cons? I am yet to find any.

Unknowns: No idea what the battery life is like, or how good the cloud services are, as I am not using either. I am using a tiny 16GB Micro SD card, and so don’t need the cloud.

Tip: If you try to watch a video as soon as you are alerted that it has been triggered, it will not let you- it will show a message saying that you don’t have a cloud subscription and so can’t watch it. HOWEVER: this message is misleading. It can’t show the video because it is in the process of recording it, it is not a ‘cloud subscription’ issue. The pop up was super annoying until I worked this out. If you are alerted to a new event, just click on ‘live feed’ first. You will later be able to go back to watching the video it was recording/recorded when triggered. By later, I mean within a minute or so.

Quite honestly, one of the best devices I have bought on Amazon, and the value for money is exceptional. Pretty sure I already have my money’s worth, and I look forward to setting up my garden office where I can’t hear the doorbell, but WILL be alerted thanks for IMOU if anyone comes to call.

Also, no false alerts due to rain or even hail which we had today. The only ‘false’ alert I had was when a security light came on because of a passer by, and the IMOU captured that. But if my security light was better configured it would never have set off the IMOU BULLET LITE.

    HIGHLY recommended.

Exactly what I was looking for- Motion activated camera

Bought this whilst on special offer as had been watching for a while. The market is full of these types of cameras, some very expensive, some cheap.

This is a good value camera for the features from a reputable brand with a core skill set in security cameras.

    Pros:
    Cheap
    Well built
    Good features
Can choose sd card or subscription

    Cons
Cable is only 2.8m with fixed usb end – had to cut the cable and splice a third party 5v powerline to extend to get to the nearest socket
Night vision is limited due to small IR light
Motion sensivity is difficult to get right even though adjustable

You could pay for a fully hardwired system costing hundreds or from a higher cost brand such as hive or nest, or get this- at the end of the day unless it’s a professional install the pictures won’t be helpful to police so it’s a deterrent and at least you can work out why your recycling bin went missing at 3am!

Easy install and set up but power lead woefully short as unit is specifically designed for outside the house, also why do they insist on using usb power, life would have been much simpler if it could just be wire into our existing outside lighting – hence only four stars overall rather the five the unit would deserve.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAfter looking around and doing a bit of homework on wireless CCTV cameras I kept coming back to this one due to the good reviews and its features and it didn’t let me down.
As other reviews the only gripe was that the wire was sealed at the camera end and it had a sealed USB plug on the other end which would require a large hole to feed the USB plug through. The wire was just short of 3 meters long and was slightly too short so I bought a male to female extension I then cut the extension which I could push through a smaller hole then soldered and heat shrunk the wires back together approx 300mm from the power supply. (I have the male to female extension connections in the soffit out of the weather and also taped up with electrical tape to avoid moisture entering the plug fittings) I also bought a 128GB microSD card to avoid monthly payments to use the cloud service.
I’d recommend pairing this camera to your phone or tablet device before fitting outside as it uses a high pitched frequency and wind and traffic may interfere with the camera pairing.
I live in a bunglow and have the camera close to the front door so it does everything most video door bells can do and more.

The only slight downside is that you need to drill a 22mm hole right through the wall in order to mount it as there is an ISDN plug to get through. If this plug were removable the hole size would be only a few mm and easier to fix.

I couldn’t be happier with this camera. Put it at the side of the house under the car port, where it covers anyone coming down the drive and sends an alert to my phone. Initially I was getting many false alerts but by adjustment of the camera angle, sensitivity and most importantly the area to be monitored for alarms, I now receive few. The quality of the picture is very good too. I can now check on the garden while away and peace of mind that I will be alerted when someone calls at the house. Setting it up was really straight forward too.

Excellent value camera – the only other camera with a built in security light is the Netatmo and that is three times the price!
Another bonus is ONVIF compatibility which is rare in a camera that can also connect via the cloud – I have yet to set this up but I expect it’ll be just as easy as the other Imou camera I have.
I don’t normally leave reviews but when I had a small problem Imou’s customer service was exceptional – thank you Catherine for all your help

For the price, this little camera is just amazing. We have brought 2 more to supplement our range of cameras from IMOU. Features include motion detection, siren and light amongst more of the more usual features. It can record 247 to memory card and it marks motion on the timeline playback. Easy to install. App is advanced again for the price.

We haven’t tested night vision after installing outside but this depends on many factors. Testing the night vision inside – it was perfect.

It can record clips to the cloud if needed but haven’t tested this.

I saw this reviewer on YouTube and took a punt and am glad I did. Replaced a Swann system which failed at the end of its warranty. Pros – good picture quality, nice to have the Micro SD storage, connectivity has been faultless so far. Cons – would have liked to be able to remove cable to install – with microwave plug instead of full USB requiring a larger hole. Tips – registration- you need to Scan the QR on the cable – do this before final install! I had a long run – used two male/female usb cables without issue. Check your Wi-Fi password carefully on entry – it requires a process of holding a chirping mobile up to the mix of the camera- tiresome if you’ve got it wrong and you’re up a ladder! Would prefer a process similar to Meross devices where they generate their own Wi-Fi for the app and you connect and send it your main Wi-Fi pwd. So far very pleased!

    Revised review,

i Had an issue with my nvr not working with this but i switched the camera to h264 and all is well, The imou support were very helpfull and responsive via email so great support.

Camera has one main issue for me though. It’s got a pir sensor but light at night from car headlights triggers the motion detection, would be nice if we could have just pir triggered recordings !!!!!!

Its a great design as its rounded at the front with no sunshade so you dont get spider webs all over the front, which is very good,

    great camera

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFor anyone adding the IMOU Look camera to Synology Surveillance Station, you may have a little trouble, I went though the ONVIF route but that failed to record anything, it added the camera but showed ‘dissconnected’ I decided to manually try adding another brands pre-configured settings hoping it would work with the IMOU, trying each camera manafacturer, by luck i found it works if you add it using brand Amcrest and model Generic_Amcrest on port 80. As far as i can see it all works properly, 1080P etc – hope this helps someone else.

Great camera. I mainly use it to check who is knocking at the door before opening it and now I feel much safer. It works great in the night too. Recommend it !

Camera works well, I recommend to buy the 5 mp version, much clearer picture, cannot turn off ir lights tho at night ,I have adequate PIR (motion detection)led lights so ir lights not needed which attracts spiders anyway

Golden Review Award: 52 From Our UsersI love this camera so why 4 stars? The Setup is awful. Should be simple with a scan of the QR code but this doesn’t work. I literally performed this procedure in excess of 20 times. I was ready to return the camera as faulty then tried to install manually via the serial number and thankfully this worked. Installation aside the camera is great, slight delay with Alexa voice activation but it’s acceptable and is very handy to just ask her to “show me the Front Door” The LED light is cool and I love the voice functionality too. It’s quite expensive but at least it works (once you manage to install!) unlike cheaper other ones that’s say they use Alexa but the Alexa skill doesn’t work. I also like the compact size. Sort out the installation and it’s a definite 5 start camera.

I wanted the camera in Black so bought the silicone black cover but oddly the fitting is still in white. So I bought an outdoor plastic black paint to make it all black. I’ve added a few photos. I also painted the cable black and now it is much less noticeable which is how you’d want it. The actual camera is brilliant. A week in and I’m loving it, the led at night is great and the voice function also works well.

I’ve just bought a second one of these for the back of my house and it setup without any issue. They are a great camera and the app is great too. But please make the black one completely black ie The the bit that screws to the wall and the cable.

REVISION : *** This is a really important thing to know ***, if you change your wifi and should you accidentally delete a LOOC camera, it initially seems like you won’t have a QR code or the serial number as you will most likely will have thrown out the box that the camera came in and the box is the only place that the QR code and serial number exists (for the LOOC model) So after a few emails with IMOU support, we discovered that within the app at the bottom middle of the screen there is a “Message” “bell” tab. when you go in there, at the top of the screen there is a green button called “personal push,” tap on it. In personal push it records when you deleted a previously installed camera and thankfully it has recorded the serial number too so you CAN recover and reinstall your camera. That said I would recommend going into the device details on your camera, click on the name of it, it then brings up the details including the serial number “S/N” I recommend you take a screen shot of this information and keep it safe!

Great camera but poor setup process REVISED SHOULD YOU ACCIDENTIALLY DELETE A CAMERA PLEASE READ

After playing around with the setup of the camera I am very pleased with the results. My camera is mounted in a none reflective perspex dome but I had to disable the light for night vision as it caused a lot of glare. Not the cameras fault. Only downside for me is that the software only allows 1 email address to be associated with the camera. If 2 people try and login using the mobile app 1 gets logged out (even using same credentials). Would be nice if multiple users could login at the same time.

This camera was brilliantly easy to setup and has a great picture day and night. I use the App on my phones and PC to view which works perfectly, a little disappointed there isn’t a proper iPad app yet. The extra features of the two way communication means i can talk to the kids when they are playing out front or back and the siren and light to alert unwanted visitors are handy. Power the camera, connect to wi-fi and you’re away. Having the cable from the camera as a usb helps push the line through window vents instead of drilling any holes to install them.Overall a great camera for the price.

Golden Review Award: 55 From Our UsersThe pairing process is very easy and quick. I have a couple of these devices now and I’m very happy with them. I have recently learnt that the siren and the white light shows on the Amazon Alexa APP as a actually device. Yesterday I said “Alexa turn Garden light on” When I checked the cameras white light was fixed on until I told Alexa to turn it off. Since we have a couple of these I created a routine which my girlfriend likes so if we say “Alexa Emergency” all of the sirens on the IMOU camera go off at the same time. I have found that when installing the device through a wall if you use 22mm drill bit and then 22mm conduit which you can get anywhere if you just carefully file to the rubber on either side of the USB connector a little it will go through the 22mm with ease and you dont need to worry about it failling down into the wall cavity. Highly Recommend

    This devide is excellent.

Golden Review Award: 112 From Our UsersGood
    – Good viewing angle, wider than the Yi outdoor camera
    – Good quality picture
    – Good app
    – Easy to setup (couldn’t do it on my android though, had to use iphone)

    Bad
    – SD card doesn’t record permanently, only records when there is motion. This means you are totally reliant on the motion detection being spot on else you may miss something.
    – Cant view motion detection alerts unless you sign up to the cloud service or wait for 10 minutes
    – Cant view on more than one device without logging out and in again each time

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBrought this to go inside our indoor camera. Picture quality is amazing on both day and night time watching.

If anything it’s a little to over sensitive so many bugs have set it off.

Easy to use and app pretty straight forward. Def worth the price.

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersWhere do I start. I had a few problems connecting the camera to my router but eventually got there. And for some reason the camera software keeps shutting down on its own saying. Imou as stopped working. I managed to get the software to work on my tablet but I cannot get it to work on my mobile phone soon as I install it on my mobile phone putting all my details it says check network no internet which I have got on my phone and to be honest with you that’s the main reason why I wanted this camera so I can be out round the shops and still keep an eye on my sick wife so really it doesn’t do the job I was expecting. I don’t normally do a review on things but I think people should know it’s a good camera but the software seems to let it down a lot. Would just like to say I’ve been in touch with the company that makes this camera and they have been very helpful sorting my problems out. As I’m not technically minded and a old man lol I would just like to say I run a very old Android phone which is not compatible with this camera but modern Android phones will be compatible and you will not have any problems if you do have problems please contact customer support they are very very helpful I’ve increase the Star level on this review purely because of the customer support is first-rate.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersI finally got time to put in my garden this weekend. It looks like so cute and easy to set up on the wall. You can download the app and watch the live view wherever you are. I captured this picture at a rainy day, but it is still very clear. Really amazing products!

Lovely product I would definitely recommend!
