Silverline 951855 2400W Angle Grinder 230mm
The Silverline Angle Grinder 230mm has an impressive 2400W motor, which provides the power you need to cut through the materials of your choice. Used for grinding metal, cutting tile, stucco and pavers, and rout out mortar from brickwork, this handy and compact power tool can also be used with wire cup brushes and wheels for the rapid removal of rust and hard-to-shift corrosion. Sharpen, sand and polish edges and surfaces to restore materials effortlessly. Hone edges on hoes and shovels, notch and cut ceramic or stone tile to fit around angles and corners, and rapidly remove rust, flaking paint and stubborn deposits of grime.
Cement and dirt can be eradicated from power tools with the wire cup attachment, and quick cuts through metal such as bolts and industrial fencing can be made safely and effectively with this fantastic tool. The soft start motor ensures sudden rushes of power to the tool do not occur, eliminating ‘jumping’ and enabling the user to keep the tool steady and under control.
– Main handle rotates for easy control and handling of the tool
– Additional 2-position auxiliary handle enhances control and comfort whilst working
– Soft grip offers comfort and avoids fatigue, even during times of prolonged use.
– Easy access brush covers included for carbon brush replacement
– Grinding guard, cutting guard and pin spanner included

This item is good for the money but is not for the faint-hearted you have to be very careful using it” it is heavy. Moreover, there is a bit of movement in the main body but apart from that, it works fine.

Done cutting tarmac. Nice smooth start. Unbeatable price/performance. Excellent for separating bodies for easier dumping. The relatively quiet tool, so neighbors will not notice your hobby

Soft start gives you more control, powerful motor, value for money

Purchased this silver line grinder along with silver lines concrete and stone disc to cut some paving slabs.
Overall I am very happy with its performance, I’ve only ever used smaller cordless grinders before and never really liked the experience. With disc’s jamming up mid cut and the grinders pulling, but this didn’t give me any of that it just kept on going no matter how much pressure you apply to a cut.
With the disc I did 13 45cm at 35mm thick and 2 60cm cuts at 45mm thick and the disk still has life left in it.
The grinder felt really heavy but is actually very comfortable to use and stable while cutting. It has a nice quick release safety guard, which is solid but not obstructively chunky. It has three screw mounting points for the big standard handle. I really like the trigger grip/handle as it completely twists so the handle is in the correct position wether your cutting vertically or horizontally.
Only two negatives and one of them is more on the sellers side and that is that it was shipped in its retail box which has no packing in it to protect it and it wasn’t even taped up. The other and it’s only a small one is the trigger, it has a safety lock that you have to engage before you can press it in which is good but I also think it has another safety feature on it that makes the trigger unresponsive. When I release it to stop some times it won’t let me restart it till it’s come to a complete stop and had a few seconds and other times I can ease off and start it up before it stops. I just find it time wasting as it takes a while for the blade to stop, and not the best safety feature as I’m left unsure when it’s actually gonna start. I’m sure I will work out why and when the more I use.
So to summarize, really happy and glad I went for a 230mm grinder as it actually felt much safe and has got me over my dislike of grinders. Great value as always with silver line. A few nice features, is it the best out there, no but for the money and the domestic uses I will use it for it will last me a fair few years.

My ageing 9″ angle grinder finally passed away, and I needed a quick replacement. Amazon Prime time!
I already have a number of Silverline tools, so it wasn’t hard to find a replacement angle grinder at a great price.
I could have bought different brands, and paid more, but the Silverstone does everything that more expensive brands do so why would I? After all, it’s not a tool I’m going to use every day, or every month for that matter, so I’m expecting to be using it until I’m old(er) and grey(er)!

So far I’ve had no problems with the machine it appears to be very good
