    I absolutely love these headphones.

    Pros:
    – comfort. I also own a pair of Bose Qc35’s and in terms of comfort these are on another level altogether. The only headphones I’ve found to date that I can wear all day long.

    – Connection reliability. No messing about with Bluetooth. You turn them on, they just work. No random disconnects.

    – Playback and recording quality is superb.

    – Button placement. I love having physical power / play / mute buttons. They are perfectly placed and work really well.

    Cons:

    – Buggy Software. My only con would be that the software is buggy (on mac anyhow). Running latest firmware and software versions when I click ‘save’, the headphones go crazy and keep stuttering. I have to power cycle them to get things back working. Pretty annoying, but for how often I make any configuration settings I can live with it.

I use this on PS4. It really is a fantastic headset, comfortable with perfectly good sound. Charges quickly and battery seems to last forever. The volume control is very handy to have.

They do work wired and wireless with a USB-C dongle.
The sound quality is great, the option to adjust the volume chat/game is great.
Software is a bit rubbish but the beta equaliser is great thing. I’ve played COD, Borderlands 3 and Tomb Raider and other games and the spatial sound was grea

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNow, I have been using the arctis 1s for a while now and I must say that from my experience, this is one of the best budget gaming headsets, sound and comfort are excellent, even if the build quality is not the best. And now for the 2 minor cons, cable is quite short, and there is no cable splitter included, but this is to be expected as it is a headset made for console’s

These headphones are amazing. I use them for work, where the switch to cut off the mic is super convenient and the mic quality is great, or so I’m told. The amazing audio quality is also great for gaming and music. Getting this was an excellent bit of consumerism.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBought this as I have always preferred wireless over wired, I know wired will always have superior sound quality etc but for personal preference I will take wireless any day. Anyhow, if you game for extended sessions I cannot recommend these enough. The battery life on them is insane and the comfort is unlike any other headset I’ve previously owned. I can’t say they’re the comfiest headset available as I haven’t tried all of them, but I previously owned a few, from Turtle Beach to Corsair to Sony and I can easily say these are the comfiest.
The only negative I can give these is the sound doesn’t quite have the punch when it comes to the deep bass’ that some other headsets have. Not to say the sound quality isn’t good because it really is, crisp when you need it and I’ve always preferred an analogue volume control to digital. Also the fact that you can fade up your own voice when needed is handy (more so than I had imagined tbh).
I picked these up on sale and would say they were a steal at 129.99 but I don’t think I could ever justify paying the full price for any headset (but that’s just me) so I would always advise to get them on sale. Which in fairness they are quite regularly.
Lastly, i would highly recommend this headset as for me it ticks every box, but if you are a true audiophile looking for the absolute best sound around, these may not be for you.

I ended up buying from amazon warehouse with “damaged” packaging. Came as brand new for 40 less!
Been really impressed with this gaming headset. I feel at full price its edging toward being a bit over priced.
Sound quality is great once you have played with your system settings.
Battery life is pretty good as well played for 2.5 hours with no issues after an initial charge and the power led remained green.
Overall I would definitely recommend this headset. Especially if you can get 40 off the amazon price!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI tried the Arctis 7 but found I had problems with connectivity and was not impressed by the sound on PS5, so returned it. The 7+ is a huge step up in terms of quality. Games sound clear, with very crisp in-game effects and nice separation for music. It makes games such as Destiny and Jedi: Fallen Order sound extremely immersive. Sound isolation is also great – it comes with sidetone so you can raise or lower the volume on the right cup to hear if someone is talking to you in the same room, which is nice and convenient. The mic is top quality and adjustable and retractable, and provides very clear communications. The adjustable headstrap is robust and the band can fit all head sizes without problems. The whole headset is very solidly constructed and probably could withstand being dropped (which I haven’t!). I highly recommend this if you own a PS5!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMahlzeit,

Empfehlung LinusTechTips Einstellung.
    Akku mit 30h optimal!

The Steelseries Arctis 7p+ are a awesome headset for gaming.

The design of these looks amazing, the colours go with the PS5.
They are so light, sometimes you forget they are on your head.
They are so comfortable to wear too, the ear cups are so soft.
The band that sits on your head is also good, you hardly notice it’s there at times,
The sound is phenomenal on these too, you hear stuff in the background and it’s so clear, loving the 3D sound from them too.
The microphone is great too, had no issues with other players hearing me, all have said they can hear me clearly,
These are clearly the best I’ve used on the PS5, and probably the best out there at this moment in time.
Would I recommend this? Hell yea I would, you certainly won’t be disappointed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWent through a number of cheaper options including two Xbox wireless headsets (painfully tight and had a buzzing noise in both on Xbox SX), in ear ear buds (too uncomfortable and buzzed on SX), Apple wired earbuds (buzzing and mic wouldn’t work on SX if I remember correctly) and got fed up.

Decided to spend too much (160), but these are excellent. Brilliant sound and mic quality, no buzzing on wired or wireless on SX. Work with my IPad perfectly for pubg mobile, wired and wireless. Completely comfortable (although every so often they hurt my left ear if they’re in a certain position Edit: they no longer hurt at all a couple of months later).

There’s no sound cancellation (it does block out background sound a little), but I see that as a positive because I couldn’t get used to not being able to hear my own voice when talking online with sound cancellation sets.

    Brilliant headphones.

One of the most comfortable headsets I’ve worn, and I have Sony, Bose and Apple top of the range headphones.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have had mine for exactly 2 years today and I swear by them.
Everyday in COD SnD i call out posistions of the enemy team to people on my team and they thank me.
They ask how I knew and I say I heard them and they don’t believe me.
I have many online friends with a vast majority of the competitive gaming headsets and they’re hear 8/10 of the footsteps around corners that I hear.

This just proves they are unbeatable (especially for XBOX gamers)

I’m even looking around at a new gaming headset just because I have the odd loose part within the headset (general wear and tear) but I literally don’t want to buy anything else. I would literally buy this again so I am waiting until the day the headset officially dies on me so I can just buy it again!

In sostanza ottimo rapporto qualit prezzo (pagate in offerta 150).

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersGreat for gaming, but not great for listening to music. The sound quality is good but the bass does not go very low, no presence below 50hz. So for music not very good. But for gaming i find them very good for long duration gaming the do not fatigue your ears which is probably a possitive about the bass not being so strong. Mic seems good. Not had any complaints from friend, and the mute button is very useful for blocking sneezes etc. Range is reasonable and battery life is very good. Overall very happy with them

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat: Syncs with Series X effortlessly, Syncs with PC effortlessly (with Microsoft Dongle & Bluetooth), Really comfy even during long gaming sessions, The sound is great (way better than the official Microsoft headset), Great for knowing what direction an enemy is coming from, Pull out microphone is really useful when just playing SP games, being able to tune your mic monitoring through the headset is great. Also these look nice, not to gamer(y) so you won’t look like a nerd wearing on public transport etc.

Neutral: Can edit equaliser settings, though it has to be done through the PC app.

Bad: Sometimes pics up my breathing, even when mic isn’t close to mouth. Having to plug into PC and modifying equaliser with Steelseries Engine, Micro-USB.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHere is a list of headsets I have gone through before finding these and loving them.
    Logitech G Pro X Wireless
    Hyper X Cloud 2
Steel Series Arctris Pro and dac (wired)

After using all these headsets I always found something that I didn’t like from the sound to the comfort.
This headset for me has everything, the sound quality in game is very nice and seems very balanced.
This headset also comes with a USB C charging port and beta access to Sonar which is the new EQ software which is very good in my opinion although it can bug out sometimes.

If you are looking for a headset I would suggest trying out this one.

    Positives
    – Sound quality is very good
    – Very comfy compared to others I’ve tried
    – Sonar software is very good (comes with the headset and works with the Arctis Engine)
    – Better wireless length then others (I can go in the kitchen and still hear)
    – I don’t charge this headset as much as I did the g pro x wireless which is nice
    – USB C Charging port

    Cons
    – The Mic doesn’t sound the best but it’s passable (I don’t use the mic anyway)
    – Sonar software at first was buggy but it seems to have settled down for me

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI admit these are not exactly ‘cheap’ headphones, but I wanted a set of headphones that I could use on my XBOX as well as PC, and to be honest, 99% PC use is how it is.
Previously I owned a pair of TB Stealth 600’s which were good but unfortunately decided one day to just not power on ever again, and so thinking the Stealth 700’s would be a good upgrade, I got those – but they were too ‘tight’ on the head if that makes sense!
This review is about 3 months after purchase, so it’s given a bit of time to get used to them.

I went with these along with a Microsoft Windows dongle so I can bluetooth it to the PC, and have been impressed ever since! I haven’t tinkered with any settings, just tend to use it for COD:MW online custom games with friends, and the sound is fantastic, I keep looking over my shoulder to see if my partner is in the room, as the sounds just come from all angles!

Battery life has been fine, stability fine, I can’t say I use these constantly, they are used 2 or 3 times a week for a couple of hours at a time, but they have been solid.

    Would recommend!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMost comfortable headset I have ever owned, the soft ear cups and headband make it almost unnoticeable, even when I’m wearing my glasses which is a huge plus for me. Great sound quality and the 3D/Tempest sound is as immersive as I’d hoped for in the PS5. Battery life is amazing and I actually use these at work every day as well as for gaming, only had to charge them a handful of times since I bought them weeks ago! Worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is perhaps one of the most versatile headsets I have ever owned. Not only does it use lossless wireless, it also supports a bluetooth connection so you can connect directly to your phone or laptop without needing the transmitter base.

It is very comfortable thanks to the strap that at first I almost did not want to buy it due to the strap. However, strap was easy to adjust (far easier than I expected) and it only took me two attempts to get it just right. The strap also makes the headset feel a lot lighter on the head as you do not have anything hard pressing resting on the top of your head. The earpads bend all sorts of ways so you can get that perfect angle you want to have it on your ears to suit the shape of anyone’s head.

Comfort aside, the hot swap batteries work so well, shockingly I do get the advertised +-10 to 9 hours of usage per charge per battery. The batteries charge very fast in the transmitter base and tend to be fully charged long before your current charge is empty on the battery you are using (fun fact: the design of the batteries is pretty much identical to that of the much loved G7 Logitech gaming mouse, so if you have used that then this will feel all too familiar!)

In terms of sound quality this is far better than any headset I have ever owned and I think you actually will not be able to find a headset that can beat the sound quality on this device!

The reason I say that is that the drivers in this headset are clearly designed to perform well regardless what you toss at them – music, movies or games it just can take it and then some!

Using the official SteelSeries software you can get the most out of it though and can setup mutiple set sound profiles so if you prefer it one way for one game or for music and then another way for a different game or for movies for example you can just rightclick on the SteelSeries app and select the profile you have setup in advance.

The sound really changes drastically depending on the settings you put in the app but regardless of settings you can really hear how well these drivers perform. The output is just such a high fidelity regardless of what you are listening to that nothing can outperform this headset.

There is also a clear distinction when you enable and disable the surround sound not just in games but also even in music. If you are listening to any music that has an orchestral background for example the surround really helps you hear the depth of the orchestra versus the surround off it will sound a lot more bland.

This is also why this headset shines in that any audiophile headset a- will not have a built in microphone (which all my friends on Discord say sounds extremely clear) and b- will not perform equally good on all sound usage. Audiophile headsets tend to perform best at music but then if you give them a game or a movie their performance just is not as good as a gaming headset.

But where previous gaming headsets failed at music, this one really shines especially with the simulated surround sound using DTS X v2.0 it just somehow processes the stereo sound in such a way that your ears perceive it as being far deeper than a regular stereo headset.

I have used other surround headsets but DTS-X v2.0 just is a massive improvement in the technology over previous surround headsets.

The specs speak for themselves if you compare them to audiophile headsets you really see how great the drivers are in this headset added on to this what DTS X v2.0 can get out of them is why so many people rave about this product.

Amazing kit for competitive gaming and music!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBrilliant headset, so comfy on your head and doesnt give you sore ears like some headsets after prolonged use. The mic pulls out of the cup sort of like a wheel based mechanism which is just so cool. And the mic glows red when muted so you are aware, which is also pretty cool

The sound is that sharp I have had a few hacking accusations due to hearing one faint footstep, suddenly turning round and chasing the kill (honest!) Worth it.

The only 2 complaints I have however – The main one is if there is too much wifi interference your headset will keep connecting and disconnecting which is really frustrating.
Example being visiting my parents and my room has the house CCTV in, as well as my xbox, the headset kept periodically disconnecting due to all the wifi interference.
No issue in my living room however.
So not ideal if there is a lot of that or if you have a box room

2nd the volume wheels are located on the back of the headset. If you are leaning back and playing the wheel will move which can result in a nasty loud (or quiet) shock, having to re adjust the wheel mid game is also not ideal.

However after a few adaptations no problems whatsoever. Fantastic headphones for sound and comfort. Totally recommend them from a gamer myself. The bluetooth feature is also.cool as you can hook.your.phone up simultaneously and play music or take a phone call.
    But yeah I’m happy

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersHaving Bluetooth headphones is the most comfortable thing at a chair with arms and these certainly do not sacrifice in any departments, i use them 70% of my awake day if not more and they have never felt uncomfortable the range is also really good as i can walk around the house without issues battery life is absolutely amazing, they always last me a full day of usage (10-16 hours) and if i forget to charge them they can sometimes last me two, they sound just as good as my old arctis 5 wired (if not better) and are alot more snug and comfy on my head, had them for about 6 months now and the only thing i can complain about is sometomes out of no where (im talking about 10 times total) they will just bleep and disconnect, and you just have to turn them off and on again, another reason for not giving 5 stars is the steelseries gg software doesnt seem to like my headphones and doesnt work with them though i suppose this is a one time issue with me and most likely wont be the same for others, this doesnt bother me too much as i can use external software instead, in general id say they’re worth the price and would reccomend to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersJust bought the headphones and tested them out today (Phone only)

Mic: Not too good but not too bad neither. Literally sounds average lol.
    Pros:
    – Is decent for casual use
-Great for adjustment and comfort, it stays in place.

Cons: – When you breath it can be loud/definitely noticeable, just try not to breathe heavy lol.
    – Idk if this is a con but when the mic is close it becomes loud and basically inaudible (great for toxic players lmao)
    – Bending the mic it felt like there was a creak idk

    Headset:
    Pros:
    – Really comfortable, you’ll never ache wearing these
    – Buttons on the side for mic options are placed greatly

    Cons:
    – Headset material is plastic, feels kinda cheap but not too cheap.
    – Inside of the headphones is like some sort of silky material. Idk if all gaming headsets are like this but it just feels cheap lol

    Audio:
    Pros:
    – Pretty balanced, bass is there for music
    – Can hear people well through headset

    Cons:
    – Cant find anything, I guess if you like music with hard bass then youd find the bass 3/5

Overall: 4/5 Stars because it’s only 40 and the headset comfort is great + mic is decent. However, the headset felt kinda cheap in some parts and the mic is abit sensitive. The audio is balanced (as some people may like) but I like abit more pound to the bass although it ain’t bad so I cant complain. Maybe I’m picky but I’d pay about 30 for these not 40.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought these as a replacement for my Razer Nari Ultimate that had started to cut out intermittently on one ear. Compared to them the sound quality is like night and day, these sound like high end headphones, maybe not as good as the pro but up there with some of the best gaming headset. They’re also comfortable due the the ski goggle band type strap that rests on your head. My only niggles (and they small ones) are that the bass is a little underwhelming, but that could be because I’ve come over from a pair with haptic feedback that do exaggerate the bass a little, and I didn’t think much of the DTX Positional Audio. I ended up buying Razer’s THX Spatial Audio, which, in my opinion is worlds apart in terms accuracy and worth the 19.99 extra if you play a lot of games like Warzone or Black Ops Cold War. The mic is crystal clear and natural sounding and loud, unlike some of the mic’s you get on a cheaper headset. All in all though, it’s a cracking little headset and after a little tweaking it’s almost perfect for me. Definitely worth considering if you’re looking for a new headse

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI love this headset, and have been using it for my XBox Series S, Switch, PC and PS5. It comes with all the required components, and I have had zero latency on any of the devices. The Steelseries Engine app on PC also has some robust equaliser features. It’s not the cheapest headset on the market, nor the most expensive, but I can vouch for the build and audio quality. I also find the headband very comfortable and the cloth ear cups are great for a sweaty guy like me compared with the usual leatherette ones which get sticky or gross. My ears can breathe, whereas with my Pulse 3D set get very hot after a while. I will update this if I encounter any issues, but as of now I am very happy with the purchase.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersFirst thing is first, these are comfortable – straight up there’s no getting around it. To me this is almost the most important aspect of a gaming headset. I upgraded to these from a pair of cheap Razer Kraken X lite, these are on another level (as you would expect for the price hike) but to reiterate, these are so comfortable it’s almost worth the price already.

The sound quality is good out of the box, and very easily tuned in Steel Series engine to make it that bit better. While these do not claim to have a noise cancellation feature, because of the lovely air foam around your ear you can barely hear around you (much to the annoyance of my girlfriend having to shout in my ear)

As a wireless headset these are fantastic in that aspect, the signal has never cut out and I have never experienced issues while using these with my set up the range is impressively long and I can walk around my house without losing signal or experiencing any jittering while taking to my pals. I love the pass through you can use for external speakers as well so while your headset is turned off it will route the music/film to your speakers which means no more messing around in windows with the sound output – fantastic!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe sound and functionality of these is great. Everything works well and they are comfortable.

I’ve tried a pair of Razer Nari Ultimate (RNU) prior to these and overall the Arctis 9x are far superior.

Stand out feature of the Arctis 9x?

Being able to connect a 2nd device via Bluetooth like your phone and use it simultaneously whilst gaming. So you can listen to music or take a phone whilst you enjoy the sound coming through from your game. The buttons work well and they are comfortable. Battery life is good too.

The ear pads could be thicker for those of us with bigger ears – although these are easily replaced, the RNU was better here and the RNU has this immersive vibration option to make things feel more intense – most of the time this was good. But RNU has a terrible microphone which made talking to people in game/party chat an extremely frustrating experience. And it’s a know problem with the RNU so stay away from them. They also have connectivity issues with regular sound distortion affecting gameplay.

After much deliberation on spending so much money on a gaming headset for the Xbox, reading and watching countless reviews the Arctis 9x proved the winner and I wasn’t disappointed. The connectivity with the Xbox is easy to set up and stable.

Sound: This is clear and well balanced. You also have 4 EQ presets you can switch between or you can go further and customise these on a computer. This is a cool feature. You have the chat mix / game volume dial, master volume dial and mute switch. The dials are a little sensitive but are ok.

It’s easy to forget how good they sound until I go back to trying my friends 200 Bose headphones or JBL’s.

Comfort: The ski band is comfortable, no sweaty ears, the ear pads are comfortable, but with my big ears I do find I’m just touching the drivers with the tips of my ears. I’d prefer a little more space around my ears but this isn’t a big issue – and I can always get replacement pads that are bigger and thicker.

If you’re willing to pay this price for a gaming headset for your Xbox One / Series S/X then get these. They win awards for a reason and that reason is they are superb.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersMy first gaming headset.
Also my first over ear headset since I was a nugget.
    Not used the mic yet.

I got these because I needed a more versatile pair of headphones. I have unreasonable noisy neighbours, which is hell on my autism, so headphones became a necessity.
You can use them wired with any device, wireless with many devices, the mic can be detached, they last all day.
They really have all the things that I need.

Good sound. Good range too. When listening to stuff on my PC, I can go downstairs to the room below and I barely get any signal drop.

The downsides, after a year of use, are:

*They don’t grip my head as tightly as they used to. They slip off if I’m moving around too much. But I’m mostly sitting when I use them so that’s not a huge problem.
*The cushioning on the band is sort of unsticking a little. It won’t fall apart though. Unlike the outer coating on the leatherette material.
*The audio dial, which is extremely useful, is having a spot bother. At certain positions it doesn’t give even sound to both ears and I’m going to have to go to the manufacturer to have them repaired probably.

All in all though, if you need a gaming headset these are pretty worth the money. Unless you want to spend a teensy bit more on one of their better pairs. Look at the cost of the other sets that this company does.

I bought a 2nd pair a 18 months later so I have a spare pair while I see about getting the first pair serviced. Using a program called “VoiceMeeter” you can run 2 pairs of headphones simultaneously. You’ll need both dongles connected tho.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI’ve been researching headphones to use with gaming and Skype calls for a while. I read all the reviews on a number of different headphones and decided on the Arctis 9 wireless headphones. They cost more than I originally wanted to spend but I feel they were worth the money. The range doesn’t seem great but I just wanted some headphones without a cord so they do the job very well as I don’t need to roam the house when gaming or in meetings unless I pop to the fridge in a meeting but it cuts out :/

The build quality is great. They have a nice texture and feel comfortable on. They do not feel poor quality to hold. Maybe more on the large size than expected but they don’t feel to heavy when wearing them. The hideaway mic is brilliant as you can use them with your mobile phone and not look a wally. Again a tad big but worth it for the quality. If I had the money and knew the quality was better I would have probably gone for the top of the range but they cost around 250. The volume buttons on the earpieces can easily be knocked when putting them on and taking them off which can be a little annoying. Really cool that the mic lights up red to indicate it’s off. Really helpful when you need to tell the kids to shut up!! 😀

Battery life seems really good. You can use them with the USB cable plugged in.

I would recommend a soft case for storing when not in use. keeps dust off them and stops them from getting damaged.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersBought these as an Xmas gift for my other half, I’ve gotta say, I’m JEALOUS. Having semi-shunned the wireless Arctis headphones of the past (plus many other wireless HP brands), I’m really happy to report, these are a PHENOMENAL! Comfy, sturdy, light, great battery life, shall I go on? With the same drivers and readily admitted better connectivity then a pair of older Arctis 7s, these puppies sound top-notch and are highly usable to boot! I’m soo glad I chose them, my beautiful lady is going to have an absolute ball with this gem of a product!

Thank you SteelSeries for smashing my skeptical expections, once again!

Edit: Here are some more thorough additions. Even considering their cheaper price, apparent downgrade from the lack of SS’s trademark adjustable ski band system, comfort isn’t an issue, if anything, they stay on your head a bit more securely, even with a mass of hair! The microphone is as clear as it has ever been, bonus for removability just, be careful not to lose it, it’s easily done… the arrival of a type-C dongle is something I thought was restricting, apart from taking up the charging slot on your phone or Switch for example, it keeps the connection steadier then I’ve even seen with other wireless gaming headsets, no latency at all (i.e. no laggy music/out of sync audio). The future is now guys n’ gals, affordable, reliable wireless gaming headphones/headsets are here, these in particular blast out fantastic, high fidelity sound that is just hard to beat at this price point. If you’re on the fence, don’t be, aslong as you have type-C devices, hop off that proverbial partition and it frolick through the golden, cascading fields of STEELSERIES products

Edit 2.0: I forgot to mention, easily tweaking these headphones with decent surround sound software on your computer is a MUST. The free, built-in ‘Windows Sonic’ is a great choice for games and movies. For music, is your lucky enough to be able to use a decent equaliser, please tweak to taste, you won’t regret it.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersIt’s a great headset that works great wirelessly like I hoped. The game sound quality is great, however, the sound quality for music isn’t great but if you are buying it for just gaming then that shouldn’t be a problem, just keep that in mind. The sound quality can be adjusted in Steelseries headset software, it works pretty well and it can be adjusted to different sound profiles based on what you are looking for. The mic quality itself is good for a wireless headset. The headset itself is really comfortable on, the cushions fit around your ear and don’t put much pressure on the side of your head. I’ve worn them mostly every day for a couple hours in the last two months and have no complaints about the comfort. Battery life seems to be good too, I don’t have to charge them all too often.

    *Pros*
    – Good gaming sound
    – Good wireless connectivity
    – Comfortable to wear
    – Looks good aesthetically
    – Steelseries software works well with it
    – Good battery life

    *Cons*
    – Music quality isn’t the best out of the box (due to a lack of bass)

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersI tried this headset and I liked quite a lot of the features.
    – The ChatMix dial is a brilliant feature, and combined with the connectivity options this headset provides really adds value.
    – Bluetooth, 2.4GHz and cable connections make this a really versatile headset, and as it’s not as brash as many of it’s competitors you can genuinely use it as just headphones without it being obvious they’re anything more.
    – The retractable mic is another feature that I wish more headset designers included, both to protect the mic when not in use and for when in use just as headphones as mentioned above.
    – The ski style headband really is very comfy and makes the headset feel very light, and I’m sure that it would remain comfortable over many hours of use. For me personally I like my headset to feel a bit more planted on my head though and this headset felt like it was going to move around on my head quite a bit, as it has very little pressure on the side of the head. For some people this will be what they are looking for, for me it’s not unfortunately.
    – The sound quality was good but not amazing, and I feel that for a headset that costs this much the sound really should be very good. Some of this is I’m sure is down to the use of 40mm speaker drivers where most competitor use 50mm drivers. This was to replace a Razer Man’O’War headset that I’ve had for some years where the plastic has broken on one of the ear cup connectors, and to me the sound from the Razer headset had more volume and was a bit more rounded.
    – One thing I was wary of is the earcup hinges as this is where my old headset failed and I found that there was more play around the hinge than I felt comfortable with. The ear cup itself rubbed against the hinge relatively easily which put me off too.

Ultimately I returned this headset as it just wasn’t as good as I wanted for the cost, which is a shame as I really like Steelseries ki

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThey might be the ‘budget’ option in the Steelseries range but these are still a great quality stereo headset!

I needed a headset with a mic for gaming and after a fair amount of online research reading reviews (both customer and professional editorial) I decided to go with these for their quality brand and ‘studio’ like sound reproduction … and by that I mean a flat and well balanced EQ (no bass heavy mess) all the frequencies seem to be well represented and come through crisp and clear to present a well rounded and balanced sound environment, both in-game and (surprisingly) for music/media too … needless to say I was refreshingly impressed and very happy with my purchase. (My previous non-gaming headphones were a ‘budget’ Sennheiser but these Steelseries sound better)

They are also very comfortable, even for long periods of use, with true over-the-ear cups. The headband adjusts easily and has plenty of range so should be good for most head shapes and sizes. I haven’t had these for long yet so I cannot comment on their longevity, but I can at least rest easy knowing that spares are (currently) readily available in the form of replacement ear pads, detachable mic and y-cable for PC.

Other PC gaming headsets I considered in similar price range (~50):
    – Corsair HS50 Pro
    – Razer Kraken
    – Hyper-X Cloud

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersIf you’re looking for a gaming headset I would absolutely recommend the SteelSeries Arctis 3 – the overall sound, mic and comfort are great and you won’t have any problems hearing and communicating during your sessions. That said outside of gaming the headset fairs differently for different occasions. For watching shows and films the headset again is great with a solid sound space, but music is where headset really struggles – the audio never reaches those highs and lows feel rather muffled, you eventually get frustrated by how much you’re missing out on. Those frustrations coupled with a lot of sound leakage when the volume is loud enough to hear the sound space makes you really wonder why you don’t just listen to the music without the headset on. Overall it’s a great headset for gaming, and consuming shows and films, however, if you’re looking to listen to music with these, be warned there’s a lot of sound leakage and the overall music experience isn’t great.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI had a set of Astro A50’s connected to my XBox One via optical audio, then it was announced that the XBox Series X would not have a optical audio port, requiring a bit of a rethink on my part.

I’ve tried several different manufacturers/models and for me, this is the best combination of price, features and general quality out there.

Unlike several competitors, these are the only XBox certified wireless I’ve found that work seamlessly with both the Xbox One and X Box Series X (obviously on that last one I’m taking SteelSeries and XBox word for it, as today is Halloween, and I’ve got 10 days to wait for shiny new Series X, though you tubers vids look promising).

Many that claim to be wireless still require you to run a 3.5mm cable to your controller for mic usage in games, this model does not – it pairs to the Xbox in exactly the same way as your controller – press button on headset, press ‘pair’ button on front of X console, ‘et voila!’ (you even receive an official message on screen at this point ‘ ‘headset assigned’).

    Further features –

    – Discord certified mic (very clear)
    – Dolby Atmos (just download the XBox Dolby Atmos app and set up for brilliant sound)
    – Allows Bluetooth connection, so you can listen to music / take phone calls at the same time as a gaming session)
    – ‘Ski Goggle’ style headband, which I’ve found very comfortable in long gaming sessions
    – Windows PC can be connected by purchasing a XBox wireless adaptor for your PC (similar to that used to connect an XBox controller to a W10 PC)

All in all, I highly recommend this product! – Happy gaming

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersMy mum bought these for my sons 8th birthday after I did a lot of research on wireless headsets. The reviews on this brand were fantastic. We’ve not been disappointed at all, he absolutely loves them. He says they are really comfortable (I’ve tried them on and agree!) The sound quality is great too apparently. I’ve added photos so you can see how they fit an average 8yo. He has them on the tightest setting, so plenty of growing room. Highly recommended this product.

    Fantastic product!

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersThese were bought to be used with my sons switch so that he could chat his friends were playing fortnight online.

They do the job well, he is very pleased with him and can be heard well and I’ll see is friends.

Features that we particularly like are the fact that you can turn voices down and gameplay up and vice versa, see you can get it to just the right level especially if you’ve got a particularly noisy friend playing!

I liked the fact that it came with the attachment you need to plug into the switch. This meant he was able to get going straight away with it and I didn’t have to pay out front thing else. It was an all in price. We also discovered that the attachment fits the bottom of an iPhone, and into the side about Mac book laptop. These are added bonuses and places where we can also use headphones.

Another handy feature is the fact that you can have it wired if you wanted to, and you can remove the microphone as it inserts like a headphone jack. This means that you can use them as Bluetooth headphones on listening to music et cetera.

I should’ve had a little at the price, but they are undoubtedly great quality, versatile and therefore definitely worth the outlay.

I read all the reviews before going ahead with the purchase, and you can get bogged down in the detail. At the end of the day they do what they meant to, sound quality is good, and the microphone quality is too. It says on the box that they are and microphone also used by long haul freight flights because of their excellent noise cancelling capabilities, I have no idea if this is indeed the case, however it made my son extremely excited!

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersBought this for my sons PlayStation and pc. Usb connection to ps4. there’s a seperate 3.5mm input on the headset he also plugs into his pc. Out of the box there’s no way of sending your own voice back to your headset for feedback but we figures out if you download the steel series software on your pc – plug your headset into your pc temporarily – then you can make a multitude of personalisations to the headset like voice feedback, graphic equaliser and even customizer the colours of the headset. He’s altered the colour cycling to match his led lighting. He’s very happy with these and says they are loads more comfortable than his previous turtle beach. I will buy a pair when my turtles eventually fail!

Golden Review Award: 93 From Our UsersI’m very fussy about my audio set-up as I stream, game, love to watch movies, create music, and video edit. However, I’ve not just bought another 400 pair of headphones, so my review is based on the quality for value.

BAD: (Because it’s not that bad)
These ARE NOT actually 7.1 (which I knew) but simulated. However, at least in windows, they only show up as a 2 channel device, which means some software will downmix the audio to the headphones, losing detail. I’m hoping this is fixable in future software.

I can’t be certain if this is why the surround isn’t as good as other DTS headphones that do show as multi-channel but for this price and what I’m using them for (gaming, some music, some Netflix) there is an acceptable difference with simulated DTS on.

The microphone suffers a little from being a bit too happy at picking up high frequency ‘S’ sounds, whch is typical of most noise cancelling mics I have tested. I don’t know if this is tunable in the software but if it is, I promise to try and remember to update this review.

The software isn’t really helpful for set-up, perhaps there is a manual there somewhere but some tooltips would be nice!

    GOOD:
Let’s start with the EQ presets. I should hate them but coming back to price, and that EQ is hard (for some) the ‘out of the box’ software EQ settings are really rather good! The EQ is fully adjustable, even from a preset, so you can fine tune it.

The chat/voice game mixer is also fantastic in the way it works. In the operating system, you actually get two devices, one for the actual game/video/windows sound and a mono device that you can set discord/teamspeak/mumble/skype (etc) to use. After that, the dial on the headset is a fader which you can then put the bias from full game to full voice comms.

The microphone is very flexible and gives a good range of placement and the noise cancelling really does seem good. What’s also fantastic is the microphone mute is a proper on/off type pushbutton, rather than a press to toggle.

The extra band that suspends the frame is elastic and very comfortable, I don’t feel the weight of these headphones on the top of my head that much at all. Also, the foam of the ear pads isn’t too hard, so I don’t feel pressure on my ears (and I’ve not got small ears, and also wear glasses and I’m not feeling my ears pressed into the glasses but outside sound is nicely removed)

There is a ‘live preview’ feature available in the software itself, which is useful for setting up your levels, rather than having to do this in the operating system. However, this lets you know what your operating system hears, there is a small amount of latency. So there is a ‘party trick’ in the software. A feature called ‘Mic Sidetone’ routes the microphone directly inside the headphones, with 4 levels from off to high, meaning you can test, or always get to hear yourself, without needing to set this in the OS)

On the subject of controls, you can adjust the auto power off setting from the software from 5, 10, 30, 60, or 90 minutes and, of course, disable this function)

A quick final note, the software allows you to save multiple configurations, which means you can fine tune your audio environment for different usage (games/video/video conferencing) and recall these settings quickly, rather than needing to find a ‘one setting for all’ or having to tweak the settings every time!

GREAT, but how do they sound?
Well, they don’t sound like a 400 set of headphones and they have no right to at this price! However, even without all the extra utility and gaming features, the sound is better than some playback only headphones I have bought at this price and up to the 200 mark. If you’re happy (and able) to play around with the EQ settings I think you’ll find a sound that fits what you want, I certainly have and in a fairly short space of time. I’ve already done some gaming, movie play back (Star Wars Episode 2 sounded really good after a couple of minutes creating a movie profile) and made my brain light up with some Prodigy, Disturbed, and Beethoven (yes, I’m that nerd!)

    Final Notes:
The USB sound card is very clean, I’m not seeing any noise coming through that shouldn’t be there. The USB cable for this is about 1.5m so is long enough for anywhere I need it, without having too much cable to worry about. It also has a fairly effective anti-slip rubber ring on the base. There are line in and line out ports, which I have yet to test, so no idea if this just plays to/from the headphones, or if that sound goes in/out of the operating system as well.

You get an OK length USB charge cable, which is just long enough for me as I have my PC close to my chair but if you need something longer, go buy a good long Anker cable for it. You also get a ‘smart phone’ 3.5mm (if you’ve still got a phone with a 3.5mm) that connects stereo and mic to a usb input on the headphones, meaning you can go analogue if you need to (but again, I’ve not tested this as I don’t really need to)

    VERDICT
Well, when my wife finally gives up on her Logitech ‘real DTS’ headset, she’s already said she wanted a pair of these and while I’d happily let her pay more, or buy her something more expensive myself, I think we’ll be owning a second pair of these in the not too distant future, so yes, I’m very happy with them!
