But that’s not all: The intelligent night-economy mode automatically switches the light ‘OFF’ after a programmable time and back ‘ON’ again in the early hours between 4 and 5 o’clock. Guter Dmmerungsschalter der in der tiefen Nacht das Licht nochmal ausschaltet um Strom zu sparen, schaltet sich aber zum Morgen wieder ein. Besonders praktisch im Winter bei langen Nchten.
This is my second, the first lasted over 4 years. My only advise is when pushing in the wires to the push-fit fittings make sure they are pushed in as far as they go or you may not get a proper connection.
It does the job, it’s quite well built.
The only defect is that in order to adjust the sensitivity you have to remove the cover, which is not very practical.
Apart from that, everything is OK

Ottimo prodotto, dopo quasi 2 anni, non ho avuto nessun problema. Unica pecca da segnalare, la difficolt di intervento una volta installato all’esterno, la copertura molto fragile, dopo 2 volte che ho dovuto effettuare delle regolazioni, si rotta la plastica che mantiene una delle 2 viti di chiusura, ho dovuto mettere una fascetta di plastica per non farla aprire.
Mit dem Gerte wird, bei mir abhngig vom Umgebungslicht, im Hhnerstall das Licht eingeschaltet. Nach ein paar Stunden wird automatisch aus- (Eco-Mode) und vor Sonnenaufgang (optional) wieder eingeschaltet. Tagsber ist das Licht dann natrlich aus.
Fr die nderungen der Einstellungen muss man den Deckel abschrauben. Das ist eigentlich die einzige “Schwachstelle”. Das strt aber nur die erste Zeit, bis man die, fr den Einsatzzweck passende, Einstellung gefunden hat.

Good piece of kit; however the instructions are somewhat vague. Once set-up it works well although switch off time varies daily albeit by only a few minutes.

Easy to install. Easy to adjust. Comes on at dusk and goes off around 1am. Perfect for our needs.
Took some tinkering to get it in place in order to ensure that it will be safe.
Tip: if you buy this only put the cover back on as the last step. You will find yourself having to take it off several times during installation and setup and the cover screws are not that forgiving. I managed to damage one of the screw holes – as they are plastic – simply by taking the cover off about 4 times.
Haven’t tried the energy saving function yet as my main purpose is to illuminate the back garden all night – and it does that job perfectly.
Sensor als Erstattung fr einen STEINEL Bewegungsmelder gekauft. Bei letzterem bedauerlicherweise immer wieder die Erfahrung gemacht, dass diese nach 1-2 Jahren nicht mehr zuverlssig funktionieren. Und viele andere Rezensionen teilen diese Erfahrung.
Installation recht einfach. Gehuse ausreichend gro, um die Kabel ein wenig lnger zu lassen. Persnlich strt mich aber, dass die beiden Schutzleiter an einer Klemme zusammen gefhrt werden. Ich mag es lieber, wenn es pro Kabel eine eigene Klemme gibt.
Sensor lsst sich etwas individuell einstellen, z.b. Nachtsparmodus. Allerdings nicht von auen so dass jedesmal 4 Schrauben gelst bzw festgezogen werden mssen, um Einstellungen zu ndern. Bei den Bewegungsmeldern geht’s ja meistens von auen.
The one minor criticism I have is the time of switching back on again in the morning is not adjustable and mine comes on too early between about 0300-0400 rather than the 0400-0500 claimed. However, there is a setting to disable it switching back on again in the early morning and I will activate this once it gets lighter in the morning.
Of note, the question and answer referring to having to adjust the timer for change between standard and daylight saving should be ignored; this is irrelevant as the way it works out the time is based on times of morning and evening twilight and not clock based and is also why the unit should be left with power on and not switched on and off.
Artikelbeschreibung, Bestellvorgang, Lieferung und Zahlungsabwicklung waren vllig problemlos. Die Anschlsse waren einwandfrei beschriftet (quasi selbsterklrend) und die Montageanleitung verstndlich und ausreichend – mir sind allerdings die Druck-Klemmanschlsse zu fummelig und ich bevorzuge Schraub- oder Klappsysteme (z.B. von Wago) – da wei man auf Anhieb ob und wann eine Verbindung “safe” ist. Die Einstellung der gewnschten Funktionsweise (Schalt-Lichtstrke, “Zwischenpause”) war vllig problemlos und nach wenigen “Justiertagen” macht der NM3000 exakt das, was ich von ihm erwarte. Gehuse und “Innenleben” machen einen “sauberen” und stabilen Eindruck; d.h. der Schalter knnte bei mir alt werden.

Easy to wire up, leave it for full 24hrs for it to adjust to lighting in area. Then adjust the setting for when you want it to switch off in the night. Simple product highly recommended

Sehr kreativ finde ich, wie die Nachtabschaltung berechnet wird. Funktioniert sehr gut. Auch die Anpassungen der Schaltschwelle finde ich gut gelst, so es denn funktioniert (habe es selbst noch nicht ausprobiert). Nicht so gut finde ich die Montage, es geht doch an der Klemmleiste sehr eng zu. Jetzt muss sich der Dmmerungsschalter nur noch im Dauerbetrieb bewhren.
We’ve had it a year now as a dusk till dawn sensor and it works perfectly. Our Electrician installed it but I don’t remember any issues. We used it for our lights either side of the front door and it means that they both come on and off in sync and we could tuck the box round the side of the porch on the black fascia below the gutter and you barely even notice it – obviously remember that the sensor itself cannot be covered or it wont work so it will need to be somewhere visible.
Dit product heb ik gekocht als schemerschakelaar voor de tuinverlichting. Gewoon heel simpel… als je kwaliteit wilt en dus waar voor je geld? Dan koop je Steinel, geen discussie verder.
UPDATE: May 2021. I still have this unit fitted to my garage and it’s still working perfectly well. Very happy.
Works a treat. Easy to set up if you read the manual first. Also remembers settings after power has been off for a while. Perhaps they all do that.

Der Steinel Dmmerungsschalter NM 3000 wei, arbeitet vom ersten Tag/Nacht an zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit. Wir brauchen uns endlich nicht mehr um Uhrzeiten oder Lichtverhltnisse zu kmmern. Wir sind sehr zufrieden mit dem Automaten.
Der Dmmerungsschalter lt sich einfach installieren und funktioniert einwandfrei.
Lediglich die Laufzeit abends lt sich nur umstndlich durch Aufschrauben des Gehuses und dann auch nur sehr ungenau einstellen.
Schn, dass der Dmmerungsschalter auch morgens schaltet, so dass die Leuchten auch morgens in der Dmmerung leuchten.
This unit has an adjustable lux level for switch on time, the only downside being you set it manually with a push button at the desired light level.
The other unique feature is an adjustable off time, so my garden lights go off about midnight.
The unit doesn’t have a clock but works out the time of the year by tracking light levels.
So far it’s been pretty accurate at turning off.
Only time will tell of how reliable it is, but Steinel is well established brand.
Prdoukt schaltet in der Dmmerung ein, dann luft eine Zeitschaltuhr ab. Genau wie gewnscht. Dmmerung individuell einstellbar. Zeit ebenso. Kann auch in den Morgenstunden als zweite Einschaltzeit benutzt werden. Fr uns ein Top Produkt zur Teichbeleuchtung. So richtet sich die Beleuchtung immer nach der Dmmerung und nie als Zeitschaltuhr was bei vernderten Tageslicht nicht gut ist, da stndig nachgestellt werden msste.
Im Winter gerne als Christbaumbeleuchtung fr den Auenbereich.
Verarbeitung von Steinel wie immer gut. Stellen super Produkte her.
Produkt macht was es soll und funktioniert seit 3 Monaten einwandfrei. Einrichtung ist weitgehend logisch.

Used it for a porch light, have used this many times always works well. and you can alter how long it is on for.
This is a great lighting control unit, very reliable – we have installed 5 over the last 4 years without any issues. They switch the lighting load on at dusk, we only use SELV which is considerably less that the capability of the unit, then turn off after approx 8 hours, then resume during the dawn period. I would recommend them as lighting controllers.
Diese Gerts ist leicht zu montieren und funktioniert einwandfrei.

Wir haben den Sensor/Schalter jetzt seit ber zwei Jahren im Einsatz. Auf der Wetterseite des Hauses. Alles funktioniert perfekt, wie am ersten Tag. Das Gert ist noch absolut dicht. Grundstzlich kann man sagen, dass es ohnehin einen sehr soliden und robusten Eindruck macht und, im Gegensatz zu Billigprodukten, schnell und einfach zu montieren war.
Der Steinel Dmmerungsschalter NM 3000 lsst sich etwas schwierig einstellen, man braucht Geduld. Aber wenn das Gert richtig eingestellt ist, arbeitet es zuverlssig!

Das Gert ist wirklich super. Die neue Einstellmglichkeit, ab wann er aus / einschalten soll ist jetzt genial gelst. Das geht so einfach und funktioniert. Da hat sich der Hersteller etwas sehr gutes ausgedacht.
Gutes Produkt. Macht was es soll. Die Eco Funktion ist gut, so da das Licht nicht die ganze Nacht durch leuchtet. Verarbeitung und Qualitt sind gut.
TIP: Please pay attention to one thing … you must have power going into the switch so that the switch works. The switch is the one that distributes the power to your lights. So if you add it in the middle of your circuit it will not work. This switch does not have batteries.
The product works great and as expected so far. Would be nice if the edjusments could be done withouth a need to remove and then screw back the screws and the first installation was a bit hard with 2.5mm wires
This unit was bought to replace an older malfunctioning item. Installation was straightforward as it was basically a like-for-like replacement, the only fiddly bit was inserting the wires into the non-screw/spring clip type connectors – I’d prefer to screw them in place. So I was worried that the connections weren’t firm when switched on but it worked so obviously that wasn’t the case. The unit went through its self-learning to workout the dawn/dusk times and came on automatically in the evening/switched off in the morning. Has been working perfectly for a couple of weeks now. Really pleased with this.
Steinel ist nicht ganz billig aber dafr bekommt man auch Qualitt. Das zeigt sich auch an diesem Dmmerungsschalter. Ich finde die Einstellmglichkeit gut, er schaltet sauber ein und aus. Ich habe keine ohmsche Last dran sondern eine LED-Leuchte mit 9 W und es gibt berhaupt keine Probleme.
Besonders intelligent finde ich die Nachtpause, die Leuchte geht nach einiger Zeit aus und dann automatisch am nchsten Morgen wieder an, ein Feature das ich bei keinem anderen Dmmerungsschalter gesehen habe.

Leider hat das Gert jetzt seinen Geist aufgegeben. Ziemlich frh, finde ich. Ich habe darauf verzichtet, es zu erneuern und stattdessen LED-Lampen mit integriertem Dmmerungsschalter plus Zeitschaltuhr eingesetzt. Funktioniert im Moment sehr gut. Mal sehen, wie lange es diesmal hlt …
Funktioniert wirklich sehr gut. Einen Stern gibt es Abzug, weil sich die Nachtzeit sehr schlecht regeln lsst. Hier ist es ntig, an mehreren Abenden noch einmal nachzustelle
Nur die Dmmerungseinstellung ist schwierig da keine Zeitangabe vorgegeben wird, muss man halt mehrfach leicht nachregulieren bis es pass
Trs bon produit c’est le deuxime que j’utilise celui-l est plus sophistiqu sur le plan des rglages.
Es ist einstellbar, ob nach Erreichen der Dmmerungsschwelle (Abends) UND vor Erreichen (also Frh) eine das Licht brennen soll, oder nur Abends.
Ebenso lsst sich die Lnge der Abschaltung in einem gewissen Bereich einstellen.
Durch die breite Einstellmglichkeit der gewnschten Schalthelligkeit sollte jeder mit einem normalen Montageort gut damit zurecht kommen.
Der gewnschte Schaltpunkt kann ganz einfach durch Drcken eines Tasters im Inneren zum passenden Helligkeitspunkt eingestellt werden.
Der Dmmerungsschalter bentigt ein paar Zyklen um die Dauer der Dunkelheit abzuspeichern.
Er lernt danach praktisch dauernd und passt sich so Sommer oder Winter an.

Lcher fr die Leitungen mssen erst noch durchbrochen werden. Da kann auch schnell etwas kaputtgehen wenn man nicht aufpasst.
Ist im Prei unschlagbar,die Qualitt ist hervorrageng,Steinel ist eine sehr gute Marke.Mann kann beim Kauf nichts verkehrt machen.Ich bleibe bei der Firma.

Wenn die Gartenbeleuchtung in der Dmmerung an gehen soll und nicht die ganze Nacht durch leuchten soll.
Lsst sich einfach einstellen und macht was es soll.

Be very careful where you put it. Instructions say it can be placed right next to a light as it can distinguish between lamp light and ambient light. We have frosted glass in our porch and if we have our hall light on as it gets dark, it fools the sensor into thinking it’s still daylight. Spoke to the technical department at Steinel and they suggested moving it up the outside wall to above the level of our porch guttering. This isn’t possible due to new rendering. Other than this annoyance, it seems to work well when the porch light isn’t on as it gets dusk. Steinel suggested most are placed up high near the soffit but it doesn’t say this in the instructions.

Great device works well. A pain to make fine adjsutments (ie when to turn off at night) because it is trial and error, but if you just leave it at standard settings, it is easy.
(Last time I was looking for a porch light control (67-8 years ago) I could not find anything similar, and designed my own. This is very close to that which I designed!)
