Technical support for F20-FAQ:
1. How to access the storage/SD card after connecting the F20 to the computer?
F20 uses the MTP protocol and couldn’t be properly recognized until the MTP driver installed. Please make sure F20 under USB mode, then connect F20 to computer to recognize it.
2. How can I use USB DAC function?
First switch the USB mode to USB DAC mode (Enter the setting menu to switch USB mode to select DAC). After that, connect the F20 to the computer via USB and use it as USB DAC. (Before using on Windows computers, you’ll also need to install the DAC driver, The 32GB memory card that comes with F20 has already stored the driver, need to copy and install it. )
Please note: In DAC mode, F20 can not display the disk name on computer. If need drag and drop file, please set up at USB mode.
3.Why my new F20 only getting sound one channel out of the corded earbuds？
The new player has a slightly tighter headphone jack, just plug it with pressure and it will be easier to plug in after few uses.
4. Why I cannot connect my Bluetooth headphone to the F20?
When using the Bluetooth headphone with the F20 for the first time, need pair the two devices. Please make sure that the Bluetooth headphone is in pairing mode (just like the very first time that you use the Bluetooth headphone with other devices). When the Bluetooth headphone is in pairing mode, turn on Bluetooth on the F20 and search for the headphone to connect.
5. Can this player work with iTunes? Is it compatible?
No, the player doesn’t compatible with iTunes. This functions more like an external hard drier. You simply plug it in, an option to open it as a folder pops up, and you simply drag and drop your music.

I love this thing. My phone just can’t allowed me to hold everything I want to tote around. This player is super useful and sounds great.
Hard button controls, none of the touch screen stuff. Was easy to set up and use almost immediately. It is heavier than many players, but I like its metal construction. It feels durable. So far I have nothing bad to say. I haven’t used the Bluetooth function yet, but hard wire to a little speaker works great. I would say worth the money.

Mit MP3 Dateien be ich Titel auf meinem Vincent E-Bass. Ich brauche keine Kabel mehr, um eine Verbindung zu meinen verschieden Verstrkern herzustellen. Selbst im bungsraum kann sofort eine sichere Verbindung herstellen. Nicht nur das Gehuse, sondern auch der Kopfhrerausgang scheinen sehr robust zu sein.

This is solid very well made mp3 player. It has enormous capacity depending upon the capacity of the micro SD card that is used. It handles folders within folders which is important to me since I have several different types of music, not just songs. The only feature that I miss is the ability to scroll through a long piece of music. Probably too much to ask of a player at the price of this player.

Like the boxy compact size. User interface is eazy sneezy. Sound kwality seemed to improve with use—electronics burn in maybe? Not perfect, but close enough.
I like this Mp3 very much, the appearance is very technical, the operation is simple, and the bluetooth device connection is also very easy. It comes with a 32G memory card, which is more than enough to store my favorite songs. There has been a technical issue in the process of use. After contacting the customer service, the problem was solved very smoothly, thank you very much!

This little player has great sound and excellent battery life.
Music I have listened to for years sounds fuller and I can hear details that I could not hear on my Home audio system.
Also I have to give props to their customer service. I have had my player for 1 year and seven months. I listen to it on my way to work in my car every day. I set it on shuffle and let it choose from the 3026 high quality flac files that I currently hav stored on it.
Just two weeks ago the bluetooth stopped transmitting audio (it would connect but no sound). I contacted customer support to see if I might be able to re-flash the firmware to fix it and Julie from their customer service department asked for my address and within a week sent me a brand new unit. I couldn’t be happier with the resolution of my issue and I would buy one of their products in the future feeling confident that if if something goes wrong they would make it right. I am just happy I have my little player with the big sound back for my daily commute!

Had this Surfans f20 for 5 months. ….sound is clear, crisp and decent….very good really. Every button and feature seems to work. Has some quirks as other reviewers have mention. Small fonts, The favorites file is a bit dodgy, Have to hit the top button first before you do anything. It fritzed out and lost all my songs once but I rebooted it and it went back to normal. What can you expect for a $ 125 bucks. , something that has a DAC chip and is light years ahead of any MP3 player I ever had. Put on a WAV file, Sony 7506 headphones and for cheap bucks, you are not residing in the rarified air of true audiophilia… but hey for bargain basement…..this f20 puts out great sound !
The F20 plays my Apple Lossless files with ease and can handle DSD files that you can purchase from several websites, has a very good sound especially for such a nice price. The player sounds best with wired headphones with bluetooth being acceptable, just be aware that some headphones will not pair such as my Hifiman Deva Pros or B&W PX. Finally I would say that the plusses far outweigh the minuses with the player and is a great purchase for someone looking for an inexpensive high resolution player.
Recently, I noticed battery charge time had degraded and only allowed 1 hour of playing time. I’ve been using my F20 now for 3 years which was under the old IRULU brand name. So I contacted Surfans support team to see if the problem could be resolved. They were open and very responsive to my issue and sent me a new Surfans F20 free of charge. Unlike some support teams, Surfans support appears to have great interest in satisfying their customers. I hope to have the Surfans F20 for a long time. The sound quality is unbelievable!

I bought this so I could listen to music while I work 12 hours a shift without running the battery on my phone down. Battery lasts longer than 12 hours and the quality of sound is excellent. Was a little tricky to figure out how to create playlists, but once figured out, isn’t difficult at all. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

DAC macht tatschlich den Unterschied, der sich besonders im Bereich Schlagzeug bemerkbar macht – als wenn man selbst hinter einem Drum-Kit se. Das Gert selbst verfgt ber eine Reihe ntzlicher Funktionen, wie z.B. Equalizer. Vor allem das Display ist sehr bersichtlich – im Gegensatz zu vorigen Playern. Ein Tipp: Die mitgelieferte SD-Karte sollte unbedingt gegen eine gute (z.B. Transcend 300 S) ausgetauscht werden. Dann steht auch einem auergewhnlichem Klangerlebnis nichts mehr im Wege!
Sounds good. A little hard to figure out how to create genres, enter artists or album photos. Ended up creating a folder for each type of music instead. My ONLY issue that could be a dealbreaker is the mp3 crashes quiet alot when flipping in between songs. Really annoying.
I was researching what mp3 to get for a while. Decided on Surfans f20. Even though i cannot compare it to other similar devices, i can say I am happy with this one.
Its easy to use. Needs no softwares or complex user manuals.
Its solid. Looks nice but also does not look more expensive than it is.
Mine came with the tiniest air bubble on screen. At first i thought it was the film covering it. Its not a big deal. Definitely not worth the hustle of returning the payer. It works just fine.
Bluetooth function needs patience from user side. It takes a minute to discover other devices but once connection is established, its ok.
