Works well but at even low mag I have to set it on the lowest resolution to focus using my computer screen since I don’t have a trinocular miscroscope, then change up resolution before taking the picture. It depends upon the brightness of you microscope lamp but at low mag the highest resolution I get is about 2-3 frame refreshes a second. Re the software – You have to initially calibrate each of your objective lenses for scale. Before taking a picture you have to make sure the correct mag is selected so that it can calculate the scale. If you forget, you can’t change it after taking the picture so you have to do it again. When stacking images (edf) to get a better depth of field, even though all of the component images are the same scale, you cannot add a measurement scale to the edf image – you have to put a scale on one of the component images and then select, copy and paste it onto the edf later using other image processing software. It takes some getting used to but as long as you check you scale bar carefully, it’s not bad.
