Very good, first time I have used one after three house renovations but a must have now!
Perfetta va benissimo, gi usata parecchio in hobbistica e va sempre bene
First nail gun so not great knowledge on this. Thought Tacwise make nails so would know how to make a nail gun. It comes in a plastic carry case with oil and an Allen key. Works fine but you have to adjust pressure to limit the force. There is a fixed limit to the depth which puts the nail heads about 1mm below the surface – more expensive ones have an adjustable depth stop which would be nice if working with thinner material or wanting them deeper so you can sand/remove material afterwards. The nail feed is mostly steel but the exposed end part is plastic so could get broken if you drop it .. it has not so far. The air exhaust is at the top pointing forward and down – I thought this was OK until I got a full face of it when concentrating on a fiddly nail job; it sure made my eyes sting for 10-12 seconds. More expensive tools exhaust down the handle; I thought other reveiwers were being picky but it is a big blast of air right into your eyeballs when you get it wrong. Nice new toy and great for tacking fiddly things and hold parts while they glue.
Excellent nail gun used it a lot over the last few weeks no jams or misfire’s leaves a punch just the size of the nail can’t fault it one bit. Used two different brands of nails with same results
This tool seems to be a really great allrounder nailgun. Powerful, cheap nails, not very visible and with decent hold strength I tend to use this more and more.
Quality feel and light to use works really well with my small compressed and excellent for tacking joinery whilst glue sets
five stars. sinks nails in very well. useful to have depth adjustability. uses very little air. perfect as a starter tool for a air tool novice.
Great piece of tool. Saved me a loot of time fitting wall panels. Been using screws before but now this is my first choice.
Really good nailer not too heavy, works well on hard and soft wood
The Tacwise 50mm Brad Nailer is an excellent tool and I only wish I had got one sooner. Ad say it is Prime but mine took more than a day to arrive.
what a great piece of kit, good price, prompt delivery and great service.
Precisa rapida e leggera
,lo considero un buon acquisto.
Brilliant tool – so quick and easy to use I just wished I’d bought one years ago instead of messing about with panel pins and a hammer. I connected the gun to my Stanley compressor and set the pressure to the lowest suggested value (60psi) and 20 and 50 mm brads went in the wood perfectly. I used it to board out the stairs leading to our basement and it made the job much quicker and more enjoyable. Used all day and not a single jam.
Overall and excellent bit of kit.
I have an electric tacwise and it’s so temperamental I got this to use and just wheel my compressor out as and when needed. Does a great job and so far nothing like as temperamental as the electric
Love this nail gun so much I keep looking for work. Put my beading above our laminate floor in no time at all and with no marking. Not suffered one single jam. Would recommend to anyone.
Once I changed the stock fitting to the same one the rest of my air tools used, this nailer became a pleasure to use. Works every time, light and easy to use. Not much more to say really!
Legger e maneggevole.
Good bit of kit for the price, for the small time occasional diy,e
Ottima postola! Comunque oggetto ben costruito. Lo consiglio a tutti professionisti e non.
Wow! This brad nailer is simply amazing! I am a keen DIYer who likes the put my hand to many things and having this tool in my arsenal is making the world of difference. I did quite a bit of research before committing to buying a nail gun and this one came out on top every time. It comes in a bright orange plastic case with lubrication oil and an alan key. Everything in the storage box has its place so you don’t have anything floating around damaging things.
The nailer itself comes with the newer euro airline fittings which are shorter and fatter than the older style 1/4″ fittings. I only have the older 1/4″ fittings so it was a simple case of unscrewing the fitting it came with and screwing the older one in. I am running my compressor at 90psi which is below to maximum this nail gun can cope with and it works perfectly with good nail penetration into a variety of wood types.
Loading the gun can’t be simpler and there is a handy indicator to let you know when you’re out of nails. I’ve used 20-50mm nails and so far not had a single jam. If it does jam the handy quick release function allows the jam to be cleared easily.
Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase. I am currently contemplating adding the 64mm finish nailer to my collection too.
This is an impressive bit of kit. I have tried it with 32mm and 16mm brads and it performed well. Appears to be well made.
I’m amazed by this nailer.
Used it now for a week and have put 3000 nails through without a single jam.
This is my first air tool, it blows the old paslode out the water and this nailer was less than 50.
I ordered the item at around 7am and it arrived the same day before 5pm!
Sick tool, I might get another for my left hand.
I bought this as the one I purchased before was total rubbish, after using this to build 2 6×7 trellis panels I can really recommend it, it did not jam once. My old nailer only took 32mm brads but this one takes 50mm which means I can use thicker timber and know it will stay nailed together, the only problem I have got is that I cannot seem to undo the connector for the air pipe as I use Japanese air couplers, so I just made a coupler with Euro fitting on one end and Japanese on the other works a treat. If you buy this you will not be sorry.
Did exactly what it says. Perfect.
Solidly built, comfortable to use.
Ottimo prodotto. Esattamente in linea con le mie aspettative. Robusto. Facile da usare. Non sbaglia un colpo. Professionale. Consigliato vivamente.
Considering this is about a third of the price of a bostitch, I can’t fault it. would be nice if it had come with a pivot-connector at the base though rather than a standard one.
I need DIY tools that are easy to use and do an effective job. And this meets both criteria. It does what it says on the label.
on ancora utilizzata a fondo (regolazioni di profondit etc).
Had my doubts but was I was wrong, worth every penny and saves so much time, never jammed once . Great bit of ki
Borrowed my neighbour’s compressor for a project building a simple set of garden furniture using treated pine. I’d previously used the electric and manual Tacwise nail guns/staplers and had been impressed by their build quality and simplicity of use. They are very intuitive, even for relative novices (though I would take care with this one if it is you first ever go!).
Once I was all connected up and had my ear-defenders to protect my lugholes from the frankly ludicrously noisy old air compressor, I had a few test runs on some scrap wood – and boy is there is a difference. You really feel like the nail isn’t ever coming out again! And most likely it isn’t, because it will be buried deep and with barely a head to grab should you decide to try and remove it. Therefore it certainly pays to be slow, deliberate and very careful in using this – wasting good wood with a badly placed brad is almost as bad as shooting a nail in to your foot!
I’m now looking in to getting my own compressor as I have quite a few jobs coming up over the summer that this excellent tool will help me with, such as boxing in an area under the stairs.
This is a mid level air brad nailer from Tacwise and appears to be a very well constructed machine which should survive the odd knock or drop around the workshop or job site. Do note, this is an air nailer, so it requires a separate air compressor which is not supplied of between 60 – 100 psi. I tried this with my 80 psi Clarke compressor and it certainly seems to pack a fair punch, not feeling under powered, and securing wood to wood and mortar with no issues, with the brad being shot home completely and without damage to either the brad or the material. I have probably shot about 100 brads so far and the machine has never complained and touch wood, I have not as yet experienced a jam so cannot comment on how easy it is to recover from. I also specifically like the fact that as well as largely being made from metal parts, including the head, the unit is supplied in it’s own carry case along with a bottle of oil for lubrication.
Overall, I have been very impressed with this air nailer, comfortable in the hand and heavy enough to give confidence in use, it feels like it will give long term service for a variety of roles.
If your in the market for a Nail Gun you might be under the mistaken impression that all Nailer’s are created even, this is usually not the case and normally if you want superior quality tools you have to pay a premier price.
However this Tacwise 50mm Brad Nailer while not being the cheapest I’ve came across is actually the best. It’s lightweight, comfortable to hold and use, comes with a depth control adjustment system, includes a heavy-duty carry case and can hold different lengths of nails. It’s pretty easy to load and to use, granted I did need a bit of practice before hand.
You will need to connect the nailer to a small compressor, if you already have one you shouldn’t have any issues, however if you need to buy one this will affect the cost but its well worth the outlay should this be a tool you wish to use time and time again. There is nothing really to fault here, it is a great tool that has been designed and developed to a high standard and should prove a welcome addition to anyone’s tool shed.
I had used an air nail-gun before but it was a big cast-metal monstrosity which took both hands to lift most of the time, so the Tacwise Brad Nailer seemed a bit diminutive to begin with – but it really punches above its weight. The nail-gun is small but perfectly formed and feels solid and strong while being quite lightweight, a real advantage if you’re using it over extended periods. It’s easy to load, just one lever and the nail-feed slides open and you drop in your choice of brad or nail and there’s a quick release nose too in case anything gets stuck, although we haven’t needed to use this yet. It doesn’t seem that using staples are an option with this nailer, which is a shame, but there’s a good selection of brads available with a maximum length of 50mm.
We hooked it up to a small compressor set at about 100psi (Tacwise recommend between 80 and 100psi) and were ready to go in a few seconds – you can add a few drops of oil into the air-line to keep the internal mechanism working smoothly and a small bottle of oil is included. We tried out 50mm brads in a variety of softwoods and hardwoods and found the gun drives them home time after time with little effort. There’s an adjustment wheel by the trigger you can use to vary the force and, in theory, control how deep the nails go but in practise we found that it made little difference and almost every nail was fully driven home. We tried reducing the air pressure and although it helped a bit the the nails were still hammered home in a single shot – so a little air pressure goes a long way with this nail gun and it would be worth experimenting with some scrap wood to get things setup the best way for your planned job. It takes standard 18 gauge brads and would be perfect for most kinds of finishing woodwork, like skirting and facings, although you might still have to manually countersink the nails afterwards, however this gun makes attaching and assembling things so quick and effortless it’s still a big advantage. We’ve got an electric Tacwise nailer too, a 16 gauge compared to this 18 gauge, and although both are great there’s no denying the punch this thing packs, very impressive (and useful!) for a nailer so neat and easy to handle.
Firstly, you will need an air compressor to use this nail gun as it is not included.
This was far more powerful than I thought it would be, and very accurate. It’s also surprisingly lightweight compared to my last nail gun, and fairly quiet when in use. It comes in a very handy, sturdy carry case, and has pretty much nailed (sorry) Tacwise as my favourite DIY brand. I’ve used so many of their products in the past year; they have all felt very professional and not a single one has jammed or caused me any problems, and they’ve all given me excellent results on decking and hard plaster.
Fantastic!
Once I had got my air-compressor sorted, which I managed from my local B&Q, I was ready-to-roll with this.
I prefer this to the other types because it is so lightweight, and not relying on batteries does make it a lot easier to use. As seems to be common with Tacwise, the build-quality is excellent. I found that the lower-end of the pressure was fine for everything I tried this out on (shed, skirting-board, garden fence), and the end results were clean and exactly how I wanted it.
During operation there was little in the way of rebound or vibration, and so I felt entirely comfortable using it; something important for what is a potentially dangerous device.
The nails are very easy to load into the gun, and I had no jamming, the end result being that this was a straight-forward device to use.
The benefit of an Air nail gun is that it’s a lot lighter than the electric ones, but you need a compressor. Otherwise, in my experience, the electric ones are just as good.
I used this gun to help a friend assemble an area of decking – and what a brilliant tool it proved to be.
For an air-compressed gun – I imagined it would be of industrial size and weight – it was surprisingly small and easy to handle. I had to borrow a small 80psi compressor as these aren’t something most people have readily to hand.
The gun comes in a small orange case with a supply of nails and a small bottle of lubricating oil. Loading the nails and attaching the gun to the compressor was straight forward and without issue. Using the gun, again, is a doddle. Practice a few shots on some pieces of scrap wood just to familiarise yourself and you’re good to go. The gun has a safety mechanism that prevents it being fired unless it’s actually nose-to-nose with the surface you’re firing the nail into. When affixing the decking we had just the one mis-fire and the nail cartridge was easily removed and the offending nail taken out.
So, a great addition to any keen d.i.y-ers tool kit, a robust and very capable nail gun. Being air compressed, perhaps for the more serious of enthusiasts; my personal preference would be a mains powered gun, but that’s simply because I can’t justify the expense of buying myself a compressor.
This is a very light and versatile nail gun. It comes in a handy orange case, which includes S3 and S4 Allen keys, as well as air tool oil, and there is enough space for a pack of nails. You will need a small compressor to use it (it operates between 60-100 PSI), as well as the correct-sized hose to connect to it.
It is very easy to operate and the nail will not fire unless the nose of the gun is depressed against a solid object (which is plastic to avoid denting the wood). Ideal for use with wood and once the nail is in you will have trouble getting it out again without making a mess. It is reasonably quiet and will only make noise when firing a nail. Its lightness makes it easy to manoeuvre if you are working in an awkward area. It is very easy to load and use!
This is a great piece of kit. If you’ve never used a nail gun before, or if this is a step up in spec, you should test it on a block of scrap wood. My last gun packed some punch but I’d never used a compressor-powered one and was slightly staggered by the power of it. I tested it with my brother-in-law, we share all our kit, and we were both pretty surprised at the zero resistance offered while nailing 50mm in. There was no bounce either. Solid impact, and you can set the end depth of the nail head from -1mm to +1mm. Seemed accurate to me. It’s easy to see when the nails are running low and it indicates to you when it’s empty (although wouldn’t that be obvious?). I didn’t need to use the quick release mechanism because I never got any jammed nails, but it seems like it will clear any out with ease.
This is the first Tacwise product I’ve used and I’m very impressed.
This is a Great Nailer. Effortless, may be because it is powered by a Compressor. I also have the electric Tacwise 191ELS Nail Gun. I thought the 191ELS Nail Gun was fast until I got this one. It requires just a tap to fire nails. I was using it to repair a falling ceiling. The planks were detached from the main ceiling. It looks like the previous occupant tried to repair it using a hammer ands some nails as they were splitting. Using this Nailer, I had the sagging ceiling back in position. Because the nails are very small but strong, the problem of the small wooden planks (that hold the ceiling) splitting was no longer there. The results were also smart as the nails were barely visible.
I also used it to repair some drawers that are coming apart, and the results are impressive. I am using a small 5 in 1 tool as a Compressor costing about 80 (actually it also inflates my car tires and is also has an Inverter and Car Jump-Starter)
Highly recommended Pro Nailer.
Tacwise are a good brand and value for money – if you buy this you will need to invest in a compressor, but the full kit is robust and works well for thin ply wood, and also furniture and upholstering work. It’s accurate, easy to assemble and use, and recommended if you need a nail gun.
This is an excellent well-priced air nail gun for the serious hobbyist or professional. Ideal for jobs such as fitting skirting boards, tacking net/mesh onto wooden frames, or general repairs, this is very easy to use. The nails load easily, the gun is solidly built (metal, not plastic) and it comes in a solid plastic case with various little tools for ongoing maintenance.
The most important feature to be aware of is the fact that it’s an air gun so you will need a small compressor to use it.
I’m a fan of Tacwise for reasonably priced good quality products, and this is no exception.
The Tacwise 50mm Brad Air Nailer is a good quality piece of equipment that can be used for many areas of DIY. It arrives in a strong plastic case, which contains the nail gun itself, some nails, and some lubricant. The nail gun is surprisingly lightweight to use, and this makes it a great tool for lengthy DIY projects. It can be used for nails of between 20-50mm, and this makes it a fairly versatile tool to own.
The instructions detail how to safely use the nail gun. It is very easy to load the nails and, once it is attached to an air compressor, you position it against the wood and pull the trigger.
Overall, a good quality piece of DIY equipment. Do be warned, however, that you need to purchase/own a small air compressor in order to be able to use the nail gun.
This is my first Air Nail Gun so I have little to compare it against other than the old fashioned hammer that I have used for years. So my review will focus on a novices experience
The gun comes in a sturdy case of the type most powered hand tools do these days but one thing I like is there is space inside to hold the nails even still in their box/case meaning no searching around for nails just when you need them.
Loading was very easy to do by using the easy to follow instructions provided.
Then to the job which so far I’ve only done furniture building so I can’t comment on more experienced carpentry uses.
After a few attempts with questionable results I quickly learned the nack of placing the gun at the location, applying a slight amount of downward pressure then squeezing the trigger and I was away.
This gun has turned the usually mind numbing and fiddly job of nailing the back boards on flat pack into a quick, stress free task and the satisfying noise as the gun fires the tack pin into the wood makes this almost pleasurable.
As I understand this is a pretty low cost model for what’s out there but from my view it does its job excellently and I’m sure will continue to be very useful throughout my flat pack building lifetime … and who knows maybe I’ll do some more advanced carpentry just to make use off i
Mid budget they may be, but Tacwise nail guns – or at least all the ones I’ve used – have all been marked out by their simplicity and ease of use, and this 50mm nail air gun is no different.
Loading the gun is a cinch, the quick release nose plate means it’s a doddle to sort out any nail jams (not that I’ve ever had any) and the soft nose means that the gun won’t damage any soft wood when you press the gun against it (be aware that the brad nails this gun fires are designed to be fired through wood, not brick or stone). The depth control adjuster is a nice touch, and the gun also lets you know when it’s run out of nails.
All in all this is a quality air nail gun, and I can see why this is apparently one of Tacwise’s best selling nail guns.
Very easy to use. Been using this for a few weeks before writing the review and I have to say I’ve had no issues or problems. I’ve tried a variety of nail/staple type and the loading into the magazine is dead easy. The soft tip nose is great so no damage to soft woods. Reliable and versatile. I’ve used quite a few nail guns and the manual ones are rubbish, the electric ones are fine for small jobs but this is great. Don’t forget though you’ll need a small air compressor and attachment.
Nice fairly heavy duty nail gun, really good bit of kit for general DIY. You need a compressor to work this but a small one will do. Comes in a handy case. My fianc was impressed with it!
To use this nail gun you will need a compressor and a hose attachment. I already had a compressor and connected a 10m coiled hose to the gun. The hose connection on the gun is at the base of the handle so it does not hamper operations, unlike some electric versions where the lead can become tangled. The nail gun is very light — weighs only 1.2kg (2.7lb) – and is easy to manoeuvre in confined areas. The soft rubber nose protects the wood from impact damage and is small enough to access most internal spaces.
At a pressure of 60 PSI this tool works admirably for most medium/soft types of wood. When constructing a larger frame or carcass, a 50mm brad penetrates completely. A thin line of glue, a couple of clamps and the job is done quickly and securely.
Some harder types of material, such as better-class plywood or the “finished” side of thicker MDF needed a higher pressure, but increasing this to the recommended maximum of 100 PSI punched the brad well into the material. In fact, a bit TOO far and a reduction to around 85 PSI was about right for a 19mm sheet. Further proportionate reductions in pressure gave excellent results for shorter brads and thinner sheets.
One thing to note when first using, a puff of compressed air is released from the rear of the nailer. This can cause a bit of surprised blinking, but I then found out that the rear cover rotates — problem solved.
This is a really good bit of kit and I wish I’d had it years ago.
My dad has been using this while building an extension on his upstairs bathroom. It’s been an absolute godsend for nailing down skirting boards etc. He already had an air compressor which is required for using this. It’s a sturdy piece of equipment and it doesn’t vibrate when in use and more importantly it doesn’t have a nasty kickback when it’s used. It’s well designed and easy to grip. I would think it highly unlikely that we will need to replace this any time soon because it looks like it was built to last. I think Danny Glover used one of these to “off” a few bad guys in Lethal Weapon 2 as well, so it’s handy to have just in case some burglars need dealing with. Great product.
This is a fantastic bit of kit and for a good price as well.
It comes in a high impact plastic case to protect the gun and is will packaged when you receive it. Unpacking the gun takes very little time and set up went without a hitch… well nearly. The compressor i use is probably a bit larger than what the hose supplied with this was designed for and would not fit onto my compressor. However i had a spare hose that did fit and allowed me to set up the gun. If you are purchasing this then it will be small compressor all though it does work with larger ones you will need a different hose to connect it than the one supplied.
Of course the real concern was that the compressor may be too powerful for the gun but that has not been the case and it works fine with these.
When trying the product i was very impressed with the depth control of the nails, you can set the gun to punch the nail to leave the head 1mm below the wood or even leave it a millimeter above the surface of the wood. This was useful when i was tacking some wood together for convenience while i screwed in some other parts and allowed me to remove the nails with no fuss later.
The loading of the guns is really simple and you have a good idea of how many nails are left in the gun. During the operation of the gun the recoil is minimal so did not affect the use of it, the exhaust can be adjusted so you can point it where you need it or point it away from where you dont need it blowing… in my case the plan i was following.
I found the recoil in fact to be better than an old mechanical gun i use for roofing, that gun though is more portable than this as you need the compressed air so this should only be used in a work shop environment or wherever you can get a small compressor to go.
I would highly recommend this as it has an excellent build quality and works very well… I have even used this to mount plastic to wood and did not have any issues with it.
Sturdy, easy to use and does the job for which it was designed really well. It comes in a sturdy plastic case with everything you need inside. The manual is easy to follow and you should be up and running in no time. As others have mentioned you do need an air compressor which is why it loses one star for me.
This lightweight, yet substantial, brad nailer comes at a nice price and from a reliable maker of quality tools.
It is easy to use and comes with a range of features – super quick reloading, large capacity magazine, depth control, its own carry case… and the performance is excellent – as good as you’d ever need. At this price, it can’t be faulted.
One caveat: you do require a separate air compressor to operate this.
I’ve used a smaller Tacwise nailgun in the recent past so I was interested to see how this “big brother” version would work. Increased size and capacity of nails obviously means a heavier, heftier product but not overly so and the nail gun was fie working in all aspects and angles, with (obviously) only confined spaces causing a bit of a problem. Reloading is straightforward and the gun seems to be quite reliable, at least I didn’t suffer any jams or indeed any problems at all. The design is functional yet comfortable, with a well shaped handle. I was quite pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone who has a semi serious DIY side to them.
Well, I did realise that would need a small air compressor for this and I have one. It’s a 12V job for inflating car tyres. Tried it with this, and it did work for a while, but the tool loses punching power very quickly. That may be the fault of my compressor, I’m going to borrow a more beefy compressor from a colleague at work to see if that makes a difference – I’m pretty sure it will because when this is (initially) fed full pressure from my small compressor, it works excellently well.
Yes, can confirm with a decent mains powered compressor works very well.
Build quality seems very good, the whole thing feels strong and competent. Comes with some try-out brads which is nice and I can see that, for someone doing lots of repetitive nailing (roofers, carpenters etc) this could be a godsend. I’ve only ever used a manual brad nailer before and that quickly gets tedious and tiring so maybe this would solve at least half of that problem. Having never used an electric brad nailer I’m not sure how this would compare.
Anyway, if as I expect, using a better compressor makes this work really well, I can highly recommend it. Will update this then.
This is the second piece of DIY kit that we have that needs an air compressor. We have a number of Tacwise products that proven themselves time and time again through excellent build quality, reliability and ease of use.
Firstly, you need an air compressor to make the nail gun work. There are plenty on the market and you can pick up a 8 bar one for around 90.
The manual is very helpful in getting your started. Load up the gun and then connect the nail gun to an air compressor and away you go. Performance is very good and rarely did I need to increase the PSI.
Two words of caution though – take care with using this nail gun. Used incorrectly you’ll pay a visit to A&E and keep it out of reach from youngsters.
Excellent air gun – heck of a lot cheaper than the competition but still does the job at a very competitive price. Highly recommended.
This tacwise 50mm brad air nailer seems to be very well built and robust. It is nice and light and is very comfortable in the hand even after prolonged use.
It is supplied in a strong plastic carry case with a small bottle of lubricating oil and allen keys. Loading the nails is simplicity itself and once attached to a suitable air compressor it’s ready to go. Being air powered it makes a very cool noise in use.
I’ve tried this on a variety of materials including hardwood, softwood, ply and MDF and it makes light work of driving the brads into them all with little or no recoil
Tacwise have a reputation for making good quality products and the 50mm air nail gun is no exception. Unlike other nail guns it is nice and light, which makes it easy to handle. Now I am one of those people who is not good a DIY – Destroy It Yourself – would be more appropriate for me. But with this nail gun I have managed to repair a broken fence and a damaged door.
The instructions are also quite clear and fairly easy to follow. There is a useful section on safety which I would strongly advise reading before using the nail gun, especially if like me this is your first time using a nail gun. The nails can be brought sepparatey when you run out. You also get a small bottle of lubricant and again a replacement bottle can be purchased individually.
So all in all an excellent product which is light and easy to handle.
Some suggested uses:
`Handy Andy’ type up-cycling, makeovers, construction and securing of plywood and wood frameworks, pelmets, MDF features and fabrications, headboards, adjustments to and assembly of fitted furniture, craftwork, making boxed items, decorations out of wooden boxes, making tidy box planters, coving to plasterwork, layering wood lengths, skirtings, door frames, garden fencing adjustments, construction of bird houses, nest boxes… You can do rapid runs along a length, which is pretty useful. If it goes in wrong you may have to just leave it there.
What you get:
A robust, neat clip shut orange briefcase style box, the gun’s permanent home.
A book of instructions.
The nail gun itself, light to hold and use, easily loaded, like a giant stapler. It’s quiet in operations, just a burst of compressed air sending pin home, leaving no dents to fill afterwards.
The nails/pins can be bent/clipped off if required. The gun will fire them the full length of the nail. More nail supplies can be ordered from amazon. They are slim panel pins, various sizes can be loaded, we were supplied with a pack of Tacwise, which are held together in slabs, as staples are, lightly glued so you can break off the amount that you want to fit in.
Some correct hydraulic oil.
Allen keys.
You will need:
A small DIY compressor, 240 mains that matches the demand/flow of the nail gun, see the instructions. The kind you might use for blowing up tyres.
A hose, correct size, to fit onto the gun.
Safety:
The gun will not fire unless the end is depressed against the wood. Clearly it should be kept out of the way of children and only be used by competent adults.
These pins/nails will not support a great load, combined with adhesive they will do well making frameworks, but basically you will need an industrial nailer/ traditional fixings for weight bearing objects such as pallets.
This is a nail gun for the serious hobbyist or a professional who is looking for a lightweight but powerful nailgun and both of which have access to a compressor. I have to admit I’m unlikely to use this outside of my garage/workshop as I’m limited as to where my compressor will go, but for reasonably big framing jobs that can be done at my workbench I’ll be using this. As I’ve nothing to do at the minute I had to improvise to test this out. So I had a great deal of fun once I’d attached the compressor hose, nailing odd scraps of wood together; soft and hard woods and making some mini frames. This gun will take up to 50mm brads; they’re simple to install in the feeder and once in, with everything attached you’re good to go. Not one misfire in the happy hour I had using this gun, which also bears testimoney to the quality of the Tacwise brads I was supplied with. It’s lightweight as well, about 3/4’s the weight of my electric nailer so is easy on the forearms. I was also suprised at how little recoil I got and it sounds great in operation as well. The trigger does require a bit of pressure but that’s reassuring, in that it fires when I want it too and not accidently into my leg or the cat. Solidly built and feels very robust. A great addition to the toolbox.
I asked my colleague Don (a technology teacher)to give this item a test-drive. He said:
This is a nice piece of kit, it is robustly constructed and easy to use. The nail gun comes in a tough polypropylene case and comes with an instruction manual, oil, enough nails to get you started and a pneumatic connector. Pneumatic hose is heavier and less flexible than an electric cable would be on an electric version (Tacwise also do these) so the nail gun is probably better suited to a workshop environment rather than out on a construction site. The air hose connector was not of the sort I had standardised on, but was easily changed. In use it drives the brads flush with the surface in softwoods at least.
This is a lovely bit of kit! Mr msu has spnt a morning repairing storm damaged fences and the shed….which is now more nails than wood. He found this a joy to use (dare i say he had fun).
In this one big job it was realiable and easy to use. And luckily compatible with his air compressor.
This air nail gun needs a separate air compressor to work as it is not electrically powered – so you need to factor that into the overall value for money of the product. In terms of how it operates it is a sturdy piece of kit that works well and it easy to operate. It has a trigger mechanism which fires the nails easily and has an additional safety feature which is good. The carrying case is also very sturdy, making a safe place to store a powerful tool.
I’ve been using the nail gun in a variety of materials and have found it to be very versatile and easy to use. The gun is rated at 60-100 psi and I’ve found that the pressure only needs to be used at the higher end when nailing into particularly hard woods. The brads/nails that I’ve used are Tacwise and these provide a very clean finish.
I nailed through 6mm MDPE plastic into soft wood effortlessly – and most importantly the results were consecutive. The grip of the gun is very ergonomic and overall easy & light to hold even after extended periods of use. The gun is equipped with some great features like depth control of the finished nail head, this can be set to fire the nail below the surface by around 1mm, or above the surface by around 1mm (and anywhere in between). If for any reason you need the nail to only tack the materials together temporarily and leave a large amount of nail protruding, allowing it to be removed easily, then the air pressure can be decreased to allow this to happen.
Loading the gun is simple and also allows me to see when the nail cartridge starts to run low via a viewing window, and finally displays red indicators when it becomes empty. I didn’t suffer any jammed nails while using the gun, but I found that the nose plate is fitted with a quick release to aid in the unjamming of any caught-up nails should the situation arise. I also found the exhaust could be orientated to blow in any direction making user comfort easy.
While in use, the gun gives very little vibration and remains accurate with no ‘bounce’. I also found it can be fired in two different modes as per the user directions.
Overall this gun gave me really good results, firing the brads from 20mm-50mm, and is easy and accurate to use. User fatigue is very minimal and it’s very easy to set up & adjust depending on the materials being nailed into. If I could change anything I’d allow for an increased amount of adjustment on the nail depth for both below & above the surface, but nonetheless this is a very impressive piece of kit…
Proving to be a very reliable, professional tool with a positive, clean action and without [so far] any jams or misfirings. It’s also affective over a good ranges of wood from soft to hard, and is lightweight enough to be easy to handle but not in a flimsy way as the tool is well made and feels robust. I also find found the depth adjuster for nails really usefully and being an airgun, It’s a lot easier to use in awkward, one handed places than an electrically powered one.
The unit comes in a sturdy carry case with some lubricant too. Great, good value nailer all round.
This nailgun arrived at a good time, as I had some flooring to lay which required nailing down.
The first thing to say is that the Tacwise Air Nail Gun needs an air compressor to work, and is NOT electrically powered. I already had a 30 litre compressor so hooked this up in order to use the gun.
The nailgun comes in a nice orange case, which seems sturdy and can be used to store the nailgun when not in use. This also contains some lubricant, and the Allen keys required to fit the nails. The gun itself seems well-made, and is far lighter than other nailguns I have used – presumably as it is air-powered. It’s also much quieter and smoother than other nail-guns, and the 50mm nails I used for my flooring went in a treat. In case you’re worried about misuse, there is a safety trigger.
A good nailgun that is easy to use, and well-built. As long as you have an air-compressor, I’d recommend this over any other nailguns I have used.
This needs an air compressor. Lightweight and well made. Its light, easy to operate & quiet. A much quieter action than an electric gun. It works fine with a 25 ltr hobby compressor. The whole kit comes in a sturdy and robust carry case, with lubricant and Allen keys. If you don’t have a compressor and don’t want to buy one,Tacwise electric guns are equally good.
I already had the electric gun that uses smaller nails/staples and have been very impressed with it, but of course it’s no good for larger jobs, which is where this item comes in. Build wise, even though it’s fairly lightweight it still feels like it’s a good, solid, quality product and in use it’s great. The nails themselves are of a very high quality and nailed some fencing up with ease, as well as other size laths I tried on some spare timber. I couldn’t be any happier with it.
I wouldn’t think you’d need a very heavy duty air compressor to use this nail gun but then even the smaller sized ones aren’t cheap so unless you already possess one that’s 50psi or over then even thinking about this type of product could end up being quite expensive for you.
Nail gun with adjustable depth controls.
Unlike the electric guns, which just go ‘bang’ and smack a tack in, the pneumatic gun drives in with a continuous and quieter action.
The depth is also adjustable, so it’s possible to avoid head loss in the material, plus there’s no re-bound as in electric units, which usually means two hands are required to hold it in place to avoid partial insertion. Thats a real pain when working on a ladder, so the air gun has distinct advantages.
The supplied case is very useful, but as with ALL Tacwise cases, it should have a deep pocket to store spare nails within the case.
Note, they are not really nails, but pins. There is no decent head on the pins, so no good for overhead plaster board first fixing, sadly.
A small cheap compressor is needed, we find ours is also great for workshop dusting!!!
This is a well built and robust piece of professional kit, which makes light work of time consuming tacking jobs, and so far there have been no misfires or jamming of the mechanism. On using the Tacwise DGN50V it feels lighter when compared to a mechanical staple gun unit, which we have. It uses an airline so is not suitable unless you have a line or compressor — so you will need to invest in a compressor. The trigger mechanism enables easy firing, so the added safety feature trigger is good to have — that best to keep it safely away from ‘little hands’. It fires 20-50 mm and is relatively easy to reload from empty. The whole kit comes in sturdy and robust a handy carry case, with lubricant and Allen keys.
The Tacwise 50mm Brad Nailer is a well specified, air nailer that will fire brads from 20 – 50mm.
The magazine is very easy to load, and holds enough to be useful without being over long.
The Pros are many, and (I can’t think of a con) and make this a very usable and feature rich tool. I particularly like the fact that you can position the exhaust vent 360 degrees … Very useful to avoid annoying blasts of air in the face & makes the gun easy to use in either hand. You can also adjust the depth of fire (for countersinking) and the nose plate can flip up if you get a misfire. The nose is also non marking.
I got this to replace an antiquated and very large air gun that I bought in combination with a small frame compressor. The Tacwise is great to use in comparison, much lighter, well constructed and reasonably slim.
In my experience, it is powerful enough for any softwood, ans will fire into some hardwoods too. I always try and do a test fire to see if I need to adjust the depth control.
It comes in a rigid plastic case with a small bottle of lube and a couple of allen keys, and if looked after should provide years of service.
This is a great little nailer, very light to handle. Easy to use, loading magazine is easy. Purchased
Via tacwise and very impressed with the service. Extremely happy with the product thinking now what else
I can buy from tacwise.
Excellent light duty nail gun.. not jammed once, easy to reload and nice and light in hand… runs great as well… What more can I say..!!
Great for stabling & nailing things together but tip repeatly comes off.
This is a brilliant tool! It has very low kickback, and it is precise. Besides, you can accurately adjust how deep you want the nails to go into the material. It’s very powerfull, and actually more powerfull than needed, but since it can be adjusted it’s not a problem. I have used it a lot – and I’ve had no jams at all 🙂 . Yes, I do love it! It’s one of my most used tools now. Even if you are going to use screws on a project, a nail or two can be great to hold things together until you can put the screws in. I have also learned, that this nailgun and a good wood glue is a match made in heaven! I am sure you won’t regret buying it.
I definitely recommend this to any serious DIY’er. A great gun with good safety features and remarkable performance. I had to lower the pressure supplied by my little compressor as at 100 psi it was putting 40mm nails over halfway through 50mm timber. Once I’d adjusted the regulator to a more appropriate pressure it worked like a dream. One of my better buys I think.
This is a goodun compared to the cheapo ones on the market which I previously got and regretted. Works well and ok on my small compressor. Also got 180 selection pack to use in here.
I also have a Tacwise 50mm air bradder which uses 18G Brads and these come in stainless steel as well as galvanised
Bit worried when I ordered this as the price was so low compared to the Makita one and I thought the quality might not be good but I’m pleased to say, same quality for less money – what more could you want! This 50mm brad nailer is very fast and well made and includes all the essential features such as the opening nail release clip at the front (avoid any air nailer tool that doesn’t have this) and the exhaust which can be rotated depending on the type of job you are doing (avoid blowing dust in your face for example.) Comes in a good strong carrying case
I decided to wall out my attick with tounge & groove timber. I hired a gas nailer to start with it was ok but misfires and the weight of it made it hard going. After talking to somone who had one of these I thought I would give it a go. Im now about 2500 40mm nails in & its absolutely faultless.
I cannot believe just how handy this tool is. Its light, easy to operate & quiet. Also it works fime with a 25 ltr hobby compressor so no worries on that score. In short its so handy, so easy & so reliable you, like me will be stunned you waited as long as you did to buy one. As a bonus the price of the brads is very competative. Get one you wont regret it. Tacwise 50mm Brad Nailer. Air Nail Gun. DGN50V
Works well as a nailer. The exhaust is on the back and the air either blows stuff in your face or you block it with your hand.
Useful tough Carry case makes it say to store when not in use.
I must amit not nowing about this type only ever used electric ones, ans someone else doing the job for me, im very pleased the way it opporates, like all items you by and espeshaly dangerous as this dont play unless you want to nail urself to the work. Would by same again if need arises.
have used this a few times and found it to be very good and gets the job done fast and outstanding and saves a lot of time
I already had a concrete nailer but needed something a bit lighter.
This nailer fitted the bill nicely. It is well made and has a depth adjuster to adjust the pressure put on the nails, thereby adjusting the depth they will sink into the wood…more pressure for harder wood, less for softer wood.
his nailer is fantastic, it is easy to use, not one jam from over half a pack of nails, its lightweight and very well made.
well done tacwise . this item has been a real winner for me . i will be buying one of the new electric tackers next and stainless staples to go with i
I bought this tool which was not expensive but well made and does all the smaller jobs that the bigger nailers can’t reach . I bought this one aftrer buying a cheaper air nail tool( Silverline ) which was totally useless .
i use a lot of brad and other nailers and really like this tool . excellent value as does the job of much more expensive tools i have bought before. i have several tacwise tools and swear by them ….all well made and you get a lot for your money.
