With the DP-006 you’re ready wherever creativity strikes. With two condenser microphones directly in the front, this compact battery-powered multitrack recorder is optimally designed for on-the-spot recording. Record vocals or acoustic guitar anytime without the need for extra equipment or set-up time. There is also a tripod mount for versatile set-up and placement. With the analogue feel of dedicated control knobs, built-in chromatic tuner and metronome and an ultra lightweight design, this Pocketstudio is one of the simplest to use songwriting scratchpad on the market.
The DP-006 has two inputs by phone jack to connect an external microphone, an electric-acoustic guitar or a line-level device like a synthesizer. With an optional conversion cable a tablet device like an iPad will be able to connect. Recordings are written to widely available SD/SDHC card media (2GB card included).
All song ideas can be transferred via USB 2.0 or SD card readers to and from the unit at any point in the recording process. Basic editing functions are also available.

Je l’utilise comme un looper. Son correct. Fait le job.
Instructions a bit complicated I just used it by trial and error—did a very good job
I love it – complicated to use but once you understand the basics it is fabulous and works on mains or batteries – I love it!!
I had to replace the first as some of the control knobs were missing. New one arrived quickly and works fine.
Would have liked the displace to be backlit. Also the stored files are WAV only not MP3.
I liked the build, the fidelity of the microphone input. As a sight-impaired user, the screen is a little challenging, but, that is not a fault of the product. I bought this to capture, mix and transfer acoustic and amp guitar recordings to my PC. It is a capturing device and, as such, is excellent. Would I reccomend it? Yes.
It takes a little time and effort to master, but it does what it says on the tin. All I would suggest is that Tascam provides its own step by step tutorials on YouTube. That would add to the value of the device.

This is a fantastic recorder. Well made & a pleasure to use.
I still use my old Tascam Portastudio O2 and O3 tape machines for some recordings. Trouble is, they are, to all intents and purposes, mains only: what I needed was a small, battery powered recorder, smaller than my Boss- Roland BR800 eight track machines but man enough for the job.
The DP006 is ideal. It has all the features of the old tape Tascams plus a few more, like onboard microphones and mastering capability. It’s great for recording basic ideas at home or when I’m out and about, but as it records to an SD card like my BR800 machines do, it is capable of producing excellent quality trax that are CD quality.
This has to be about the best standalone machine still available; I wouldn’t be without mine.
Only one thing to say that is this piece of equipment is just brilliant and so easy to use it’s a must for anyone interested in music .
Great recording quality for size of machine, six tracks possible. I used it for recording and mixing some songs with a Synth and Drum machine.
Aber Vorsicht, beim Exportieren der Aufnahmen aus dem internen Format in das Exportformat! Das Gert kann schnell auf die SD-Speicherkarte lesen und schreiben. So schnell, dass sie kaputtgehen kann, wenn es eine Mikro-SD ist, die in einem Standard-SD-Adapter steckt. Bei einer solchen Mini-SD-Karte ist nach 15 Minuten Exportoperation der Siliziumkrmmel darin verreckt. Das Gert zeigt dann bei jedem Einschaltversuch “Mount Error”, Aber keine Angst, das Gert ist nicht kaputt, nur die SD-Karte ist hin und lst sich auch mit Linux nicht mehr partitionieren. Besser ist es, eine SD-Speicherkarte zu kaufen, welche ohne Adapter direkt in den SD-Slot passt. Die Wrmeabfuhr ist dann wegen der greren Bauform wohl besser und bersteht die Konvertierung einer 5-Stunden-Stereoaufnahme einwandfrei.
Ein Punkt Abzug, weil die eingelegten Akkus bei angeschlossenem 5V-Netzteil nicht aufgeladen werden.
Die beiden Eingnge rauschen in der Mikro-Betriebsart etwas, wenn man voll aufdreht. Wenn man Mikrophone mit eigenem rauscharmen Vorverstrker verwendet, dann bekommt man gute Ergebnisse.
All good. Only problem was that the screen doesn’t have a light. So you always struggle to see the menus on the scree
A very handy tool for recording .and fairly straightforward instructions
I had a 4 track cassette machine in the old days. Never managed before to switch to digital, but this is the nearest to an analogue layout I have found. Brilliant design and layout. The manual is superbly written too.
Bought as a present for my husband. He loves it more than me.
Un peu technique pour les dbutants et livr avec une notice assez partielle. Par contre quand on russi le prendre en main, c’est un trs bon outil pour enregistrer ses maquettes musicales. les micros internes sont de trs bonne qualit.
Fa quello che dice. Le tracce sono 6 solo considerandole mono, diversamente sono solo 4 anche se poi si possono unificare a 2 a 2.
Audio molto buono e non presenta disturbi o fruscii importanti.
Il display non retroilluminato quindi se non si sotto luce diretta non si vede.
Se il budget lo consente consiglio la versione 8 tracce
Does exactly as it states, really easy to set up and use. Really fast delivery. Great item.
I wanted to start wiritng and recording songs, but I only get in the mood for that when I am out camping in my van. This is perfect for capturing music and then I can easily import the tracks into Audacity.
Really couldn’t get to grips with it all. Probably worked fine but it was no use for me

Although the instructions for use are comprehensive, they are over complex and as a result are not exactly user friendly.
I suggest that they should be studied before attempting to use the recorder.
Il registratore digitale ottimo, richiede un po ti tempo la comprensione del funzionamento ma alla fine il risultato molto soddisfacente.

Sono entusiasta di questo prodotto, lo consiglio a chi come me si cimenta per la prima volta alla registrazione di musica, comodo anche per concerti LIVE sia con microfoni esterni che con quelli incorporati, molto comoda la filettatura per fissarlo a un Trepiede!

Ich hoffe, da das OS hlt und ich viel bzw lange Spa damit haben werde.
this product though as good as it is does suffer a slight issue! and that is static! while you can barely hear any “noise” on the device there is still a bit of static present, I remedy this issue by ignoring what the instructions say about turning the gain knob all the way up, and instead simply keep it just above halfway. it may also be helpful to note that if you can get away with recording without “monitoring” the audio from the device this will also reduce any static. so I have all volume knobs down except for track + gain.
if you want a decent recorder, perhaps for youtube then this device alongside some editing software will get you far! i use the editing software to remove a layer of sound from the original file so it reduces the static noise.
so overall if you want a cheap semi professional device to record things on then this is your device!
i will also comment that the built in mics are great and can pick up from a distance but that is not a quality i was after!
anyway if you are using this device as its intended purpose as a editor then good luck to you! i haven’t quite figured it out yet, mainly because i hate instructions and like to figure things out for myself!
Aside from that, a very good little unit that does what it says. Record track, record second track etc then do final mix & export. Nice and easy.
One minor irritant: it doesn’t appear to playback via inbuilt speakers nornindeed even possess any such speakers. No problem really, but you will need headphones or portable speakers (non-wireless) to hear playback. I had assumed that as an audio device it would have them, but it seems not. I suppose headphones make more sense for adjusting stereo levels.
Nice piece of equipment, need to spend more time experimenting with the various aspects
Durch die Entwicklung der Computertechnik ist in der Hinsicht einige praktische Handhabungen verloren gegangen!
Nun hat Tascam mit DP 006 den Musikern die einfache Feinheiten von frher wieder geschenkt. Danke !
A first timer with Tascam, but a friend had one of the older models which was impressive. This one is very small by comparison, but does not disappoint!

Nach dem Einsetzen der mitgelieferten Batterien (ein im Vorfeld gekauftes Mehrzweck-Netzteil passte wg. fehlenden japanischem Hohlstecker erstmal nicht) und der vorgesehenen Kabel meines SetUps am Mischpult habe ich versucht testweise einen mehrspurigen Track aufzunehmen. Nach 3h intensiver Auseinandersetzung und einigen Blicken ins Handbuch hat sich mir das Konzept dieses Mini-Studios erschlossen. Aber fr jemanden der noch nie ein solch geartetes Gert verwendet hat erschliesst sich die Benutzung nicht sofort. Intuitiv geht anders. Mich strt ungemein, das bestimmte Einstellungen die man zu Beginn einer Aufnahme macht nicht global gespeichert werden knnen um nicht jedesmal beim Aufnehmen eines Songs von vorne anzufangen. Ausserdem ist das Lschen einer Spur nicht , zb. nachdem man sich verspielt hat, sofort verfgbar- da muss man erstmal tiefer ins Menue. Auch der Export eines Masters vor berspielung auf einen Computer ist aufgrund der geringen Rechenleistung des Gerts eine Geduldsprobe.
Trotzdem:
Am besten gefallen mir die Drehregler zum Abmischen. Das haptische beim Mischen der Masterspur ist ein wichtiges Detail fr mich.
FAZIT:
Ich finde dieses kleine Gert fr meine Zwecke sehr gut geeignet, es ist dank der Gre und Batteriebetrieb sehr mobil und bietet mir eine Funktionalitt welche ich auer vllt. am PC fr diesen Preis sonst nicht bekomme.
Evtl. spendiert Tascam ja bei guten Verkaufszahlen ein Software-Update und bgelt die eine oder andere Umstndlichkeit weg.

I assumed that it would be usable as a general digital recorder, without reading the spec too critically. Yes, it records WAV (CD quality) files… but it does not allow any other format, so there is no way of extending recording time at lower quality. And what IS that time? Well, the manual tells you that battery life (alkaline) is about 8 hours recording. And card capacity? Well, they provide a 2Gb card, and that gives you a recording time of…what??? NO information!! Fine if you know how many Mb per hour per track, but for the rest of us…
I rang up Tascam Technical Support – the answer, given with raised eyebrows at my ignorance, is about 6 hours; 6 x 1 hour tracks or 3 hours stereo. Not a lot – so save up for a much bigger card?
