How does this Tefal pressure cooker cook so fast? The secret is pressurised steam. - Why does the error code E2 appear when I use the browning function?
- The error code E2 means that the lid is not in the right position for the function you are using. To resolve this issue, make sure the lid is in the closed position by turning the lid towards you (to the left). Make sure it is in this position for the whole of the browning process.
- Is cooking with an electric pressure cooker safe?
- Our appliance has numerous safety features to make pressure cooking easy and safe. Not only does the appliance have automatic shut-off and a hinged lid, the pressure release valve button keeps your hands away from the pressure release vent.
- Can I do my own recipes in this electric pressure cooker?

Life changing!!
No more standing by the stove, stirring or cooking for ages. The pot literally does it all for you, all you need to do is throw the ingredients in. Everything cooks in half the time it normally would take on the stove/oven. Just having the pot cook for you while you’re busy or away from home is an absolute game changer and worth all the money.
This is a good piece of kitchen equipment that covers most cooking needs and eliminates a lot of the need for an oven or hob. However, in a well-appointed kitchen, the main problem you will face is finding somewhere to store it as it is a beast and does not fit inside any of my cupboards (too high at around 15 inches).
It feels well made and is mostly dishwasher safe, except for the obvious main housing. You can use it to brown meat and veg, cook rice and even cakes, so it is very versatile, and a small recipe booklet included in the box will help if you are new to pressure cooking, as I am. The recipe book only has a couple of vegetarian options (soup or rice dishes) and mainly caters for meat and fish eaters, so I will need to get another book unless I use this to cook plum clafoutis, chocolate marble cake, chocolate cake or apple & yoghurt cake, tempting though that might be Actually, that is very tempting and might be worth keeping this out on the worktop for, albeit at the expense of the waistline.
Although large, it is suitable for even a small kitchen given its versatility — as long as you have sufficient space on a worktop and will use it frequently. It won’t fit in many cupboards (a larder-style cupboard or open shelf, perhaps), so I would avoid it for only occasional use.

This review is mostly to help people that don’t know that the lid comes off if you need to clean it.
There is a centre screw/nut that you can remove to pull lid out and then clean it.
When putting back together please make sure you put the securing nut back in the right way ( there is a seal that should fit againts the lid) otherwise you will loose pressure when cooking.

I love all options slow cooking, pressure cooking, and delayed timer and button to release steam. Also very easy to remove cover for washing when you are ready just unscrew on contrary to some reviews that it’s messy I disagree. Just loving it!

I use this everyday now for cooking rice, pressure cook berf, lamb and etc. I personally like the fact that the lid opens to the side. I used to have a different pressure cooker where I need to put down the lid to the sides. I love this tefal design better. Perfect device for what I intended it for. Looks really nice too!

I bought this for my wife and she absolutely loves it. It does what it’s supposed to do, is easy to use and easy to clean.

My daughter recommended the modern pressure cookers and now I use it 3 or 4 times a week and everything cooks well. I always check internet recipes for timing when trying something new. Much easier than the old one I had for years

Been using this for a year now. It’s great when you get to know how to use it. The user manual is useless. A bet hard to clean and feels not very sturdy although it is.
One obvious thing about cooking is you’d like to stir some onions or maybe stir fry the meat before you turn the pressure cooker on, the problem with tefal is there is no option for that, turning it on doesn’t give much heat. The only option to do so is to turn on the “brown” option but most of the time you get a peeping error which I recently found that you can switch off by turning the open led.

Had a an alternative PKP for about 3 years which was good but that lacked real quality.
The Tefal unit is much higher quality. Note! Even if you had a pressure cooker before read the instructions as the panel works differently!
The inner pot is the same diameter as my PKP was which means I’ll still be able to get the Turkey crown in at Christmas. Yes folks it’s the moistest Turkey you’ll ever have cooked in a Pressure cooker and then browned off in the oven and in a fraction of the time too.
Made a Chilli in this as the first meal. Rice cooked to perfection in four mins and the chilli with soft beans as opposed to often hard beans and tender mince in just ten mins pressure cooking! Nice!
The bad point! The lid. I would like to be able to unhinge it clean it.

I wish I could give a 10 for flavour. O also wish I had bought one years ago. I love it, curry in 25 minutes that tastes like it’s been cooking for two days.
The best banana bread I have ever eaten. Perfectly cooked rice, stew, soup, cottage pie base. I’ve always sworn a risotto can’t be rushed it has to be cooked slowly and it’s hard work!, Well this machine makes a risotto in 20 minutes or so with only 5 minutes of stirring and you honestly can’t tell the difference between it and stove top cooked.
I’m going to try a lasagne soon.
And it anybody can figure out a way for me to do dumplings in it on a stew I’d be forever in your debt.

A bit tricky to learn, specially regarding functions that allow cooking with the open lead, and temperatures for each function… But not a rocket science either.
I have been cooking so many things, like bean stew with bacon and smoked sausage, rice with chopped grilled meat, lentils with minced beef , chilly con carne.
The best thing for me, is that it has the timer, and after the function is completed, it’ll go on a “keep warm” mode. So I can leave my beans cooking and go do my shopping.
Easy enough to clean, the lead comes off easily and so does the rubber on it.
The inside recipient is very good and doesn’t allow the food to stick much.

Really worth to buy – fantastic rice cook, stew and other bits what you like – is very good kitchen helper – just chop, put, in press the button and rest in “his” hand. “He” will made some funny noise when finish. Really I love this idea and how smart this applience is – recommended everyone who like cooking but time is to precius to spend hours. Never will regret – Over many years I brought many kitchen helpers but this one bit them in seconds. Is my number ONE.Massive thank you for engineer who find and developed this one.

Very efficient, easy to use. Does take a bit of getting used to at first as there is no manual provided in the box, but you just need to follow the recipes in the given recipe book. The manual is available online, and is very helpful.

I’ve had one of these before (another brand) and it started playing up; I’d had it years and knew how wonderful they were and wanted to replace it. I got this one, and although I’ve not really looked into all the features, I love it. The only downside to it is the hinged lid – you need a bit of clearance room to lift up the lid, which is a bit of a pain, as I don’t have much counter space. However, they are a Godsend in this miserable weather.

I have been using this for 2 months now and I love it. It’s really easy to clean and it cooks everything down beautifully. I have made beef stews, curry goat, BBQ pulled pork, rice pudding… And so many other things in this.
I use it a few times a week as a rice cooker as well. We don’t have a microwave but this has a lovely reheat function. It’s very good and really high quality. The build is very solid and it’s the great quality that you expect from Tefal.

I bought it as a gift for a friend and he loved it so much that I bought one myself. It is so silent and with no steam while cooking! It blows a lot of steam once finish, but it is only a small disadvantage in my opinion.
Its about 3 weeks that I’ve recieved my Tefal multicooker and I am really happy about it. Its has a perfect combination of options that makes cooking really easy. It keep your food warm. The Brown option is so good you can easily roast ingerdinent of the stew before using the Stew option. The Rice option is not very suitable for cooking rice with Irainians method, but the combination of rice with brwon is fine. The pressure option is perfect as well. In general I highly recommend it.

Love it! Had an old high dome prestige for fourty years. But prestige was taken over from a terrible company that supplies low standard valves and rings. So thought I’d upgrade to a more modern one. Not nervous at first as i m in my 70’s but got over it. just cooked a half shoulder of lamb in 25 mins!
A pressure Cooker and much much more - just buy one!
Found this while looking for a pressure cooker for my magnetic induction hob. The one I wanted was over a hundred pounds so I thought I’d take a punt on this (it had over 4000 positive reviews).
A week on and I haven’t done any main meal cooking on the hob because this thing is so efficient, convenient and a pleasure to use. As a pressure cooker it is large and reassuringly well built and fitted with solid safety features but in addition it will do basic things like maintain constant temperatures for scorch-free idiot-proof browning, sauteing, simmering etc. as well as baking and steaming And with its easy-to-use on/off timers I suspect it will prove to be quite life-changing – its a pressure cooker and oven with all the advantages of the old skool slow cooker.
I’m struggling to think of negatives, but it certainly has one downside and that is that it is big. Imposingly big in fact – with a footprint similar to that of a medium-sized microwave oven. But its not heavy so if you’ve the space I would just say ‘get one now’.

Having tried all sorts of recipes, from soups to cakes to Briani and lentils, it’s really good value for money, lots of cooking functions(25 in total), well built -not the cheap plastic and easy to clean.
