Thunder coat for dogs
I bought this in the hope that it would calm my King Charles Cavalier. Often on walks he gets anxious when meeting some dogs, especially if there is more than one dog at a time. This item has had an amazing effect on him. I’m really pleased with this item.
Great for reducing anxiety, but sizing can be tricky
I bought an xxs version of this for my pup years ago and it worked really well. He outgrew it and I decided to get a small. It just about fits but is on the bigger side for my 5kg chug. Would have bought an xs but wasn’t available. Still works when needed though.

I recently rehomed a cocker spaniel with terrible separation anxiety. She would howl non stop when we weren’t in the house which caused my partner and I a lot of stress pulling our hair out for a solution. I read multiple articles and a few suggested the Thundershirt. I thought it was worth a go, and for the price it wasn’t too much of a loss if it didn’t work. I didn’t expect it to work miracles, but turns out I was wrong. She hasn’t made a peep since we’ve been using it, and can now comfortably leave her for a couple of hours knowing she won’t annoy the neighbours with any noise. She curls up quite happily with it on and with zero howling. I would definitely recommend giving it a try – if it works, it really works!
Made no impact on my dog
I’ve got a very nervous dog when travelling, tried all sorts so this was close to a last resort, it made no difference whatsoever. I tried it at home several times to get him used to it but he always seemed a bit subdued wearing it, like he wasn’t entirely comfortable. Didn’t work for me.
Fits well. Sturdy
The theory of these is that the snug fit has a calming effect. It’s the same principle as weighted blankets for children with Aspergers who have high anxiety levels. The product is well made, fits well and appears comfortable. We think it has had an additional calming effect on top of the other measures we’ve taken. We use on any evening when there are fireworks which is quite frequent!!!

Worked wonders
I was a bit dubious about buying this but seeing my dog so anxious from the noise of the fireworks I thought it was worth a try.
The shirt is so soft and adjustable that my dog didn’t mind wearing it at all. Once it was on the difference in her was amazing. Without the suit she was pacing round, trying to find somewhere to hide but with it on she happily laid in the room nice and relaxed.
I’ll be putting it on her as it nears midnight on New Years Eve, ready for the fireworks.

My dog doesn’t like wearing clothing even though she’s a staffy and needs it in the winter but she loves wearing this and it really helped with the fireworks and in the car usually nervous yawning constantly, she fell asleep wearing this shirt! Does the job!
I was very skeptical with this product but it makes my very energetic dog to calm down! Obviously the dog can still hear so during fireworks I had to stay close to him but the coat helped a lot. Using it and in other occasions when my dog is too excited and it works really well!
Good quality but didn't work
The thunder shirt is clearly a good quality product at a good price. The size guide meant that the I ordered the correct size shirt for my dog.
As the title suggests, it didn’t really help my dog in any way but it is a good product. It feels harsh to mark this review down because it didn’t help my pup, it clearly works for other dogs and is a quality product. It was worth a try!

Never ever, has our French Bulldog sat with us on the settee, let alone gone to sleep being stroked. We cannot believe what we are seeing. Totally recommend a Thunder Vest. This one, is soft, stretchy and well made and looks comfortable.

I am so impressed with the positive impact the Thundershirt has had on my dog. He has suffered terribly from anxiety with fireworks. He is a young Doberman and his anxiety displays in barking and frantically wanting to charge outside to bark at noises and lights.
The moment after securing the Thundershirt on him he paused, almost in a trance and it was clear it was altering his feelings. He calmed and got through a massive local display very nearby without a sound. He settled on his bed and cuddled in to a sleep, no panting, whining or shaking!
We kept it on him for most of the evening and it is so incredible the instant impact and change this product has had in him handling fireworks.
Absolutely recommend to others as the technology of the pressure acts as a big hug which clearly the dog noticed and is positively affected by. Great purchase! So glad I got this for my dog!
We originally bought this for our 14.5-year-old Tibetan Spaniel who has gone mostly deaf and has a lot of anxiety any time my partner or I leave the house (even though there is always someone home with him anyway). Unfortunately, he did not take to the thundershirt and it didn’t help curb his barking/pacing/restlessness in the slightest. It might’ve even made it worse as he wasn’t happy about wearing it.
That being said… our 12-year-old Border Terrier/Pug rescue has always suffered with some degree of anxiety–particularly at night and also when we are out of the house (especially when I’m out apparently). We’ve started putting the thundershirt on her when we go out and our lodger said she doesn’t make a peep anymore while we’re away from the home. Last night was bonfire night and she didn’t even bark once.
So… as another reviewer said, I think it either just works or it doesn’t–we’ve seen it both ways!
Impressive
My dog has been so stressed with halloween door kmockers and firworks all week long i purchased a thunder shirt for our rottweiler she is 37 kg we went with XL
It fits perfectly and she was not even bothered about wearing it, i left it laying around for a day or 2 she sniffed at it and i put it in washing basket as suggested for our scent put it on her for the 1st time today and i am not kidding when i say she is different dog less stressed and currently snoring her head off! I have also been using calming tablets as suggested use along side thunder shirt.
It was an expensive product but money well spent. Update so fireworks have been non stop since 5pm and i can count on 1 hand how many times she has barked what would usually be hours of barking, crying and vomiting. Has been reduced massively to a few barks.

Within minutes of putting the jacket on my furbaby was laying in her bed falling asleep. She was very happy to wear it too. It actually works
I must admit i wasnt sure if this would actually calm our very nervous pouch but within minutes of putting it on we went for a walk. I could not believe how calm and steady she was and all due to a sweatshirt but it does work and we are all a lot happier now.
Calms my dog down immediately!
I have a highly active, yappy, indefatigable Jack Russell but when I put this on she yawns and falls asleep within a couple of minutes. It’s extraordinary. I don’t fully understand how or why this works but it really does.
What’s more, when I get it out she follows me around wagging her tail until I put it on her. She’s perfectly happy in the shirt at any time of day and, instead of going berserk like usual, barely raises an eyebrow when the postman knocks at the door.

Maybe it works!
Our 10 year old dog started panting and shaking every time we were in (or outside for that matter) pubs & cafes when we were on holiday in Devon. She was calm and relaxed for previous holidays, so we didn’t know what had suddenly caused her to become anxious. We thought maybe it was just a part of growing older and becoming more worried about things.
While looking for something which could help her we saw the thundershirt listing, read the comments from people who had used it and saw that some of their dogs’ problems sounded exactly like what our dog was going through and the thundershirt worked for them, so we decided to try it.
We tried the thundershirt on our dog three times when we went out and every time she was still very anxious and shaking. So the next time we took her out, we didn’t use the thundershirt and we were amazed to see that she was fine. And she was fine every time we went out to a pub or cafe during a two week holiday, each time without the thundershirt.
Did the thundershirt do something to cure her? We have no idea, but she looks to have dramatically improved after wearing it (but, strangely, not while she was wearing it!).
Don’t know if this review helps anyone very much! We don’t know what spooked our dog, or what helped her, but we’re very pleased that she appears to be over it.

This really helps my Castiel when it’s windy and rainy. He gets really stressed when the weather is like that, and it really does calm him down quite quickly. I was really surprised.

I’ve used thundershirts on a couple of dogs – one for anxiety and one for dementia and have found them to be really effective and helpful. Both dogs have been perfectly happy to wear them.

Fluffy suffers from anxiety as she has a phobia of flies, she shakes uncontrollably, panting ,sweating, shaking.
She was very excited when I first put on her thundershirt because she loves clothes, within 15 minutes she was calm and relaxed and is now fast asleep on the floor by my feet after spending the past 3 days hiding upstairs .

Fantastic Coa
My 8 months Cockapoo suffers with anxiety and car sickness. She will be drooling like mad (before jumping in the car), crying and being sick if the journey was more than 3 miles. I spent a lot of time reading the reviews of this coat and I decided to have a go at it. We went to the beach (14miles), I put her the coat an hour before the journey and as you can see in the photo…for the first time ever she slept both journeys, she didn’t drool almost nothing and lied down. I am over the moon and so pleased with this amazing product. Great quality and looks really smart.
Too early to say
It was obvious from the start that the coat is well made and the fixing are well thought out. My dog was very happy to have the coat put on and to wear it from the word go. It’s still a bit too early to comment on its effectiveness though.
Exceeded my expectations
I bought a thunder shirt for our juvenile Doberman dog who suffered from anxiety when we became his forever home in 2020. He had previously been moved from house to house with his previous owner and he was very anxious when anyone came to the house or left and was only happy if he was with me every minute of the day. I wanted to make him stay downstairs through the night but he really hated it and cried and paced until he fell asleep exhausted. SO… in desperation I bought this Thundershirt, not for one moment believing it would help. I was VERY sceptical indeed. I’m extremely pleased to say it exceeded my expectations and “Theo” loved it from the very first night. He sleeps better and knows when the shirt goes on it’s bed time and “alone time”.
I can’t guarantee this will work for every anxious dog out there but it has certainly worked for us. I would say, give it a go, you never know it might work as well for your dog as it did for mine

Purchased this for our miniature dachshund after the passing of our dog. She had never been left on her own during the day and we found she had very, very bad separation anxiety without her buddy for company while we were at work. A dog behaviourist recommended purchasing a thundershirt. It is amazing how it instantly made her calm and settled when we left the house. I can definitely say it works for her. She now sleeps during the day and is comfortable being left alone when wearing her thundershirt as opposed to her constantly howling and crying when being alone. I am so pleased that it provides her comfort!
I’m not sure if it made any difference to my girl who is petrified of the wind. She seemed somewhat less anxious but definitely it is was nowhere near as effective as the music for dogs you get on YouTube, which is like a sedative for my girl but get on our nerves something terrible lol! I followed all the recommendations such as giving her treats on the vest without her wearing it, only putting it on when she was settled. It was nearly a full week of doing all those things before I even put it on her. So I’m still on the hunt for a way to calm/soothe her that isn’t medication or drives us mad in the meantime!

Got this for my beagle who started displaying bad behaviours around the house like chewing excessive barking etc that she hadn’t ever displayed before, after ruling out any illnesses decided that it must be anxiety, got this shirt and she stopped all the behaviours when she is wearing it, she doesn’t love the noise of the Velcro but she doesn’t mind getting it on anymore, it’s the right thickness and has a good stretch! Might get more because it’s made her so much better behaved!

Well this shirt is magic.. Last night we popped it on and noticed instant calm in her so gave her an hour took it off waited for bed time popped it on and again calm.
Tried our luck put her in the crate downstairs and to our absolute amazement she slept the whole night downstairs no crying or barking we cannot believe it

Bought one originally for my old dog who got frightened of thunder in old age. Got another one for my dog that suffers from separation anxiety. Def worked well as lessening the reactions of both dogs to the thunder and stress.

This is a great product for my cocker spaniel. It fits her great, there is lots of space on the velcro straps for different sized medium dogs. It really helps to calm her down after fire works. She still reacts, but the time taken to calm down after is much reduced. She is happy to sleep in it as well.
This actually works!
I was very sceptical about this as I didn’t believe it would work. My 10 yr old lab was spooked by fireworks a couple of years ago and was a wreck whenever she heard one in the distance. My vet recommended we try this. What a difference. She loves it and settles really quickly when we put it on her. In retrospect I would have gone for a bigger size. She isn’t a big lab but I think the extra large would be a better fit. However it does the job even though she does have a bit of a ‘muffin top’ when wearing it. A much happier dog than she was before.

The thundershirt has definitely helped our dog, he is so much calmer and doesn’t snap, it’s almost as if he is a different dog. It’s something that is well worth a try, I just wish I had known about them for our previous dog as I’m sure this would have helped with fireworks which terrified him.

New Year’s Eve 2019 was extremely stressful as my 2yo border terrier had been traumatised by a firework that bonfire night, so he spent the entire night pacing, panting and hiding under the bed.
Bonfire night 2020 was equally upsetting, despite the desensitisation I had been doing with the dogs’ trust soundtracks (he can tell the difference between my phone and the outside world!), and valerian didn’t help much either. So in desperation I tried this, and though he is still not happy, he was relaxed enough to sit on my lap and spent the majority of NY Eve 2020 snoozing. Such a relief and definitely worth a try. The velcro is quite loud and it may take a couple of attempts to get the fit right, but he calms down straight away (he does like a hug, which might help).
