So I bought this and a Razer tenkeyless. The razer is obviously a little prettier but this one works exactly the same. The keys are a little less clicky on this keyboard, which I actually prefer. So I ended up returning the razer because I just couldn’t justify the $80 price difference when this bad boy works exactly the same. If you are on the fence – GET IT

The blue switches are Outemu Blue, which I find to be great. A good clickiness and feel when pressed. The lighting is also great. There is no flickering, and the transitions are smooth. The keyboard had two feet – a high and low one, which is a good feature. Included in the box is a USB C to USB 3.0 adaptor, so you can plug it in to a USB c port etc. There’s just one thing which is bugging me. This might only be for me, but I noticed a slightly darker button when lit up, and when I look into the switch I saw some sort of plastic piece with two metal bits on it. I just shook the keyboard a few times and there you go, but I’m just worried about that. It’s been fine, just a small issue.

Hopefully that’ll come to nothing, and apart from that it’s a great keyboard

I am fairly new to the world of custom keyboards and this is my first purchase of something customizable. What drew me in was the keyboard’s simple design; no logos or branding. The size is just right for my big hands. For general use and gaming, I may need a wrist rest but for the moment it is quite comfortable without one. The keyboard is very responsive but quite loud. I will eventually change the keycaps and probably the switches to remedy that.
The lighting is bright by default and can be adjusted, and has many features; breathing a rainbow of colors; glowing just one color; being able to choose which keys to glow; how dim it can glow or how fast, and it can be turned off. I do wish the speed can be 1 or 2 more times slower at the lowest setting just so it can be perfect for some of its cycles of breathing.
Out of the box there is a keycap puller and a manual which is detailed enough to get the user to customize the lighting setup and explains what functions and shortcuts certain keys can do.
Other than how loud typing can sound there is not much to worry about.

This is a smaller keyboard, which is perfect for what we were looking for. My 10 yo son wanted to practice typing and he only has a tablet so we were able to connect this keyboard via the Type-C plug on his Samsung tablet. Works perfect! He loves the color options. The instructions were a little confusing but we figured it out. Recommended!

I was hunting around for a mouse and keyboard for my X box series X … Looked for reviews etc online and youtube . Came across an indepth review of this Keyboard and was highly recommended . Searched for the best price and Amazon had the lowest price so purchased straight away .
When it arrived , I thought I had someone else’s order as it was a heavy package . Upon opening the box It was indeed the Keyboard … Plugged it in the Series X and it worked straight away ( navigating menu etc) No problems with Halo .
Overall i am very happy with purchase . It is very well built and for the price I paid it is better built than some keyboards costing a lot more . I have not tried it on PC so cannot comment ( I see no reason why it shouldn’t give excellent results. It weighs more than my Corsair gaming KB . I would say the keys are “loudish” but that doesn’t bother me as I use headphones

Just right, not too light so it can get dragged my wires, not to heavy so it feels like a brick. Keys are just the right height, sounds beautiful loud enough to sound nice but not too loud that it’s on obnoxious. And the light and light options look epic

I have always wanted a mechanical keyboard. This one is very heavy. I would say around 2 pounds. My big issue is that there is no number pad. I knew that going in though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI really just wanted the lighted keys so I don’t have to turn on the overhead light when I type. Instructions are a bit weak and cryptic but with a little trial and error I got it to light up the way I wanted to. It’s a lot heavier than the old keyboard and it clicks when you type but that’s a mechanical keyboard for you. Also has no number pad which I seldom used anyway. Would buy it again.

Nice keyboard. Impressive for the money. I picked it up on a Black Friday sale for $13. At that price it was a steal. Even at $30 is still a great kb for the money. As good as a lot of kb’s in the $100+ range. Kb does not have software but instead uses onboard settings controlled by the FN key used in combos with other keys. There’s a surprising amount of options and no shifty software to deal with. Love it!

At the rime of this review this mechanical keyboard is 55.99. It is a very well made keyboard thats bigger and chunkier than my normal keyboards.
The backlights are quite bright but not distracting. The keys are comfortable to use and i find using them for gaming quite good. The noise is quite loud but you generally get used to it after a while. The spacing between the keys is enough so you dont bash 2 keys at once. Overall very good for gaming, it does seem expensive but it is well made.

I like the design of this HIWINGS TKL 87 Keys Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. It’s a bit taller/thicker, and broader than my other keyboards. I also like the slots on the back that allow me three ways to push the cable in for my preferred length, makes the desk looks tidy.
The space between the keys is perfect; you shouldn’t worry about pressing the two buttons simultaneously. In addition, the colours on the keys are bright and beautiful.

I received a US layout, there is no “” sign on the three, so you need to press shift+3 for the “” sign. For hashtag “|” ,for @ sign shift+” etc.You need to get used to it if you intend to use this for normal use of just typing.

My son uses this for playing a game, and he found it’s very comfortable and quick in response while playing games. The non-slip rubber tags underneath do the job very well and don’t let the board move around on the desk.

Overall, this top-quality keyboard, perfect for game lovers, also offers good value for the quality. However, I don’t recommend this for everyday use for office work.

    Perfect for gaming

I always wanted to gift my brother a mechanical keyboard because he doesn’t have a sweet set up like me, I saw this keyboard wasn’t very expensive but it looked like it had good build quality so I bought it as a present. The product came well packaged and my brother was delighted when he received it, everything came safely with no damage at all. After he connected the keyboard it glowed in vibrant colours and you could it was top quality as it was so bright! The keys are genuine mechanical keys and make the clicky sound when pressed giving great feedback. Overall my brother was very happy with this!

    Great value

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersNice basic TKL mechanical keyboard for a very affordable price, making it a solid entry level option. The layout is extremely compact yet fully functional.

The blue switches on the keyboard I ordered are on par with name brand switches, and don’t produce a metallic “ping” sound as you type like many other generic switches and keyboards do. Compared to CherryMX Blue switches, these present with slightly less resistance required for actuation, which is typical for all generics. For generic switches, especially blues, these are stabilized better than most I’ve used.

The keyboard has a non-detachable USB-A cable, and comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter to provide maxium compatibiulity for laptop users.

The keycaps used are fantastic for the price – textured, ABS doubleshot for a good balance of cost to performance. The legend is pretty large, although very crisp and well suited for showcasing the RGB lighting effects.

    BOTTOM LINE:
This keyboard has a standard TKL layout, serving as functional alternative to a full size without the sacrifices taken in hyper-compact layouts. This, coupled with the fact that there is no ‘ping’ sound as you type, and the RGB effects, make this a terrific choice for anyone looking for a mechanical keyboard that won’t break the bank but still delivers good performance.

    Feels robust, durable and sturdy.
    Colours are very vibrant.
    Is responsive.
    Nice sized keys.
Manual isn’t the easiest to read.
    Keyboard is US layout.
Keyboard doesn’t have a number pad.

It is a funky looking keyboard with many different features, there are so many of these style keyboards on the market all at different prices, only time will tell if this keyboard is of good quality and matches the price tag.

This keyboard is blue switch so quite noisy in use, if you like that kind of thing. The key caps are a decent size and it is quite nice to use as a normal keyboard.

Configuring the key colours is a bit confusing due to the really poor manual which has some of the strangest phrases I’ve seen.

The key puller works well and the keyboard itself is heavy and has zero flex. The font on the keys is a little hard to read. It is a US layout keyboard.

Not a bad price but slightly on the pricy side.

Compact 87 key keyboard that feels well made. Manual is awful though

First thing to say is that this uses a US layout, so if you’re used to a GB keyboard, you’re going to have to adjust a little.
It’s very robustly built, attractive and, if you like clicky keyboards, this is likely to be right up your street. It’s very responsive, though I’ve found a couple of times one of the keys gets a little stuck. It frees itself up eventually and seems to be happening less and less as time goes on. The box even includes a spare key cap and a key removal tool
Overall, excellent keyboard for gamers and people like me who like clicky keyboards.

Im a gamer and have always used gaming keyboards, on arrival this looks the part with RGB lighting and very light press keys, excellent feel and without the keypad on the right it is quite compact leaving space on my desk for my padded mouse mat and gaming mouse.

I have in the past paid a lot for a mechanical keyboard which lasted as long as any other one I have used. This does feel like it will last me a while and Im already enjoying using it in games.

Golden Review Award: 52 From Our UsersI love this keyboard. It is about 12″ long. And no, it does NOT have “number keys” to the right side but I have gotten used to the numerical keys on the top row. It DOES “click” when key is punched but at a low volume. This is helpful so you know it did recognize your keystroke…but everyone in the house does NOT know you are “typing”/gaming.
INCREDIBLY pleased with the VALUE! I will NEVER BUY “STEEL SERIES” brand again because those two guys who operate/own Steel Series are very condescending. I DO recommend THIS keyboard!

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersBeautiful design and colors. I guess people can’t read because there are so many questions about the FN key and how to change lights. It’s right on the package. Very compact keyboard. Amazing price. Can easily sit on your lap. Remember this is a gamer’s board, so it makes a ton on noise. If I have to purchase another keyboard in the future, I would go for a silent one.

I really liked the looks and feel of the keys and overall performance. My wife, after using it for a week, also said she liked it as well. It has a good look and you can change the rGB with key commands (no software) so that’s nice. Overall this keyboard is a really nice value and I’d recommend it. So would my wife who will be using it for streaming this summer.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersI wanted to add some color to my workspace. I absolutely love the color changing affect that this displays all day long. Keyboard itself works very well. It does have a loud clicking sound as with most mechanical keyboards. Very easy to use and I find it very comfortable as well. I’ve had no issues with it so far. Like some of the smaller keyboards it does not have a keypad on the side. You can access the number keys across the top. (Or at a separate keypad as I did.) recommended.

I have been a mac/apple user forever, and one thing that i had to learn the hard way is that their keyboards suck. Before getting this i was using a stuck Logitech keyboard that some faded away and i had to memorize or some didn’t even work, I can already tell i will not have this problem with this keyboard. Compact so it doesnt take space in my messy work area. Great lighting to work in dark office setting and so responsive and clicky that i know they wont get stuck. Also it wont fad as the key itself its not written but instead the black around it in order to make a permanent key indicator. Super happy i bought this. Very affordable too.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersHe says it is just as nice as the metal one he had similar to this, but it’s alot lighter and more manueverable. He likes the mechanical keys and the color is nifty. He’s in there typing away on it now completely content. I’m happy too.

Take note: this keyboard doesn’t have a number pad, only the numbers at the top. But around here we don’t have that much of a call for a number pad and if we need a number we’ll just go to the top anyway…so that’s not a big deal to us.

  43. Anonymous says:

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersThis keyboard has some light effects that I’ve never seen before. It’s RGB so each key has all the colors. That means you can switch the entire keyboard to be one color. While they use “Rainbow” to describe this keyboard, that term is often used with keyboards that are fixed to the rainbow pattern and cannot be changed.

I like to type on this keyboard. I’ve recently switched back to mechanical keyboards after being a Logitech K350 user forever. I can type much faster on mechanical keyboards than I can on anything else.

The layout on this particular TKL keyboard is one that I prefer over some other TKL designs. I tend to use the DEL key a lot and having it in the right place is a must. I don’t miss the number pad at all.

I like that the function keys will work for things like Calculator and Volume but I’ve yet to make up little cheat labels for that stuff. It would have been nice if there were tiny pictures for those Fn combinations.

At the current price of $36 this is a nice buy. It’s a fine mechanical keyboard that handles the abusive pounding of my typing style and does incredible things for a light show.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersThis keyboard is very heavy for its size, this one isn’t going to be moving around during intense gaming sessions that’s for sure! The buttons are very tactile and have a good solid click that give good feedback when pressed. The keys do make that infamous “clacking” sound that mechanical keyboards always make, but these are not nearly as loud as most others. The keys have a rough texture to them and the letters are embedded in the keys so they aren’t going to scratch or wear off.

The backlight quality is outstanding, better then some led lights kits I have installed in my house! They dim up and down with a wide range of brightness, and the colors are really vivid, like a true orange and yellow along with the primary colors. Also, the lights that indicate caps lock, num-lock screen lock and windows lock are very well lit and easy to spot even in a bright room.

It has programable light modes and is very flexible, but programming the lights is a major pain. Its one of these, hold this key while pressing that key things. The Fn key must be held along with the +,-,left,right,up,down arrows. there are several other keys that are used for programming. I really would prefer a small app, but those are not in vogue right now…

I haven’t been using it for long, but I really like that tactile feel of the keys, the nice weight of the keyboard, and how quiet it is compared to other mechanical keyboards. This one is an easy 5 stars.

It includes a key removal tool, and a USB C converter so it can be plugged into a USB C port.

Its Heavy, Backlights are excellent, Keys are very tactile and quiet for a mechanical keyboard

Golden Review Award: 85 From Our UsersExceeds expectations. Keyboard has plenty of lighting effects. Some are animated, others are not. I really love the fact that you can define your own backlighting for each key. Very kewl. I use this keyboard with both my laptop and my samsung phone (with included adapter). The font used on the keys of the keyboard is really unique. The pics show a rainbow effect and a user defined layout i use for Mine*raft. Keyboard looks nicer than the pics show. There is no lag when using this keyboard. The keyboard does “click”, but i knew and wanted that. Sits well in the lap and feels real solid. I am going to order another one, these keyboards are just that good.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI’m mostly using this keyboard for writing and coding and, while the Blue switches require a bit more force and travel distance, this keyboard has improved my typing accuracy and the clack tells me when I’ve accidentally hit two keys. The keyboard appears to be well made and is weighted so it doesn’t move around while it’s being used. The lighting effects are nice, but I find the animated ones too distracting so I switched to a solid color for backlighting. Programming the color effects entails hitting a combination of FN and another key meaning you’ll want to make sure not to lose the instructions. Not sure how long this keyboard will last – one of my previous mechanical keyboards developed sticky keys and another lost the numeric key row – but, right now, it’s working perfectly.
