Got this as I needed a mixer urgently, not really happy with its mixing cause I have to keep scraping the sides initially when creaming my butter, but it works and not used to the sound yet a bit different from my old mixer. Great value for money

We like to try different foods and enjoy making fresh bread, discovered last week the my wrists are not as enthusiastic at kneeding dough in the breadmaking process as me “painful” hence buying the Tower Mixer, just the right size for me, respected name and very easy to operate and clean. Good suction on the feet, only criticism is its a bit noisy.

This is a decent mixer for the price, looks OK and does the job for small batches of dough etc (e.g dough for 6 pizza balls).

Problem at high speeds where the mixer rocks and moves quite alot.

This ticked all the boxes and as we got it through Amazon warehouse it was dirt cheap so easy to use easy to clean (just don’t use a dishwasher apparently) so you can stop searching this is well pukka

This food mixer looks fabulous on my worktop- has caught the eye of a few of my friends! It’s easy to use and easy to clean.. everything is put back together in one spot. I especially love the pouring spout which lets me pour my cake mixture into my baking tin, cleanly and evenly! I’m still experimenting with this wonderful food mixer but extremely happy with my results, so far!

Bought this mixer to replace an ancient and very noisy Kenwood, it is noisy to a degree but does an excellent job mixing bread dough. By managing the speed the bowl can most often be left almost clean.

I have chronic pain and two boys, who love to bake with me, so Tower’s standing mixer has made my life easier, I admit that.
The only complaint I have is that I have to keep scraping sides and bottom of the bowl. I wish Tower would add a new attachment to its mixer, beater with scraper, lol. (Yes, they exist!)
You think you’re done, but unfortunately there’s still a lot of butter on the sides, that didn’t mix properly and you’ve been unnecessarily running your mixer for the last two minutes. Yikes!
Also, it’s very noisy. Like, really, VERY noisy.

Overall, it’s a good appliance and I’m sure I’ll figure something out. For the reduced price (53) it was a great bargain and value. I wouldn’t buy it for 100 tho.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLots of bad reviews of this based on the fact that it isn’t dish washer safe; washed mine by hand and it’s no problem! Easy to use, and mixes very well. Only used the paddle attachment so far, but it’s brilliant. Even on full speed the suction feet hold it perfectly still. A little bit noisy, bur hardly enough to take any stars off; I expect any mixer to be noisy! The bowl is huge. Very impressed.

I like the look of it and the colour. It is easy to use and does what it says on the box. The only thing I am not too sure of is the fact that the motor pulsates. Is it supposed to pulsate I don’t know? However that doesn’t seem to detract from it working.

  61. AlfredFitzpatri says:

But I’ve had this for over a month now, and never had a bit of bother with it. I was disappointed when it arrived as it looked very like one I had seen in a local shop, which has sold my some tacky stuff in the past. But once I tried it out I was very pleased with it. I use it every couple of days to knead my bread dough, following the instructions in the book, and it gives a perfect mixture every time. I’m so glad I didn’t go for a more expensive model.
No I’m not some stooge paid to right this. In fact I think it’s only the 2nd time I’ve bothered writing a revue. I really do like my machine.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersIn The Mix

Cake was on the menu at the Duncurin household, courtesy of this super stand mixer from Tower and Vine.

It’s a handsome machine and the smooth black gloss finish together with the rose-gold trim band and controls makes for a nice ‘edgy’ combination that is perfect for today’s bold-coloured kitchens.

The Tower brand, of course, is a well-known tried and trusted brand and I see no reason to challenge this based on the results of our test. The instructions are simple, logical and easy to follow. I almost tried to put the small motor protection cover on the wrong way up but once I started to concentrate and look at the pictures, it was easy enough. There is a fairly decent cord length to the electrical cable but I remain of the view that a nice generous one can never be a wrong move. Three utensils are included, the whisk, the mixer and the dough hook. These are easy and logical to fit and snap in counter-clockwise onto the spring loaded bayonet fitting. Bowl is large, easy to clean and again snaps into the base securely with a bayonet type rotation. The bowl cover is clear, again easy to fit and I particularly liked the chute function so that you can drop in your eggs for instance without disturbing the mixing process or having to stop and raise the motorised head assembly. The machine is fairly light and I am thinking that for a stand mixer this is not ideal but in truth this meant that it was easy to unpack, position and also to use. The sucker feet provide a lot of suction on a clean flat surface and this makes up for lack of weight in the machine and also even at full pelt the whole thing remained stable and didn’t vibrate unduly nor ever move a mm from its position.

As the pictures show we tried a simple victoria sponge mix. We went over slightly the maximum quantities as recommended in the instructions but once again the machine rose beautifully to the challenge and although, as advised we started on the lower speed setting we were soon at a suitable mixing speed and the whole thing had the job done in no time. It never missed a beat and although a teeny bit noisy there seemed to be more than enough power without straining the motor and operated with its smooth planetary action that was complete without fuss or drama. Clean-up is easy and the large stainless steel bowl and the mixer paddles/utensils are easy to wash. The utensils felt a little light and insubstantial but again once we were up and running they didn’t sway, bend or break — and my favourite words again — just got on with it. There are just three utensil/attachments supplied and I would also have liked one of the gel-bladed type that seem to whizz round the stainless bowl effortlessly and cleanly but again in point of fact the supplied utensils were more than adequate with only teeny dead zones in the mix and these were soon scooped out by the plastic scoopy thing we used to transfer the mix to the cake tins.

You’ll be aware that there are high profile machines that come at a very high price point. I am sure that if you have a mega big family and or you are always baking, making your own bread and beating up egg whites and cream and stuff then you might want to go for one that costs maybe four times as much. For 99 per cent of us however, and for it’s intended use then this machine will be more than adequate is easy to use, easy to clean, is suitable for a variety of uses, has a generous guarantee, gets the job done in an unpretentious way without a mega spend and delivers a wonderful bang per buck ratio. The 250 you’ll save can be spent elsewhere and you’ll still have wonderful baking etc within your grasp. I’d have to ask at this point — why pay more? Please see some photos of our Victoria Sponge which was mixed well and tasted delicious — with our thanks for asking us to review.

I really like Tower products, as they match quality with affordability, durability and ease of use. And they look attractive, especially their rose gold collection items. This mixer is really a quality kitchen applicance for any budding Master Chef, but it makes life easier even if you just have the time to make the occasional dessert or mix up dough for bread.

This is a quality item, with a 1000w motor, a 5-litre bowl, six different speed setting and a pulse button, so it’s powerful enough for some heavyweight baking, but it can also handle lighter mixes with its balloon whisk. It works brilliantly and it’s really impressive if you’ve had to do much of this by hand with manual or lesser powered appliances.

It may not be something you use everyday, but it’s compact enough to be easily stored away from one Christmas to the next. In reality though, I’ve found this so easy to use and useful that there are a lot more things I want to try out with it.

  80. Anonymous says:

First the bad. Cheap and nasty switches, plastic monstrosities. However, the machine itself is a work horse and thank God for the sucker pads! This would be dancing all over your counter top without them because it’s a very light machine. So if you’re doing a two pound loaf break into two halves (it handles one pound brilliantly). Other pluses. The whisk goes right to the bottom of the mixing bowl enabling you to do just one egg white if required. It’s also easy to clean, you get a beater, a whisk and a paddle- great, sturdy attachments. And though its lightweight construction is a drawback in some senses it also means you will actually use it more frequently because it’s so easy to move. I wouldn’t mess about with hot liquids with it, it’s not firm enough, so if you want to make sweets: forget it. But otherwise, it’s definitely worth the money and it looks really premium even though actually it’s quite cheap as mixers go. The one thing that did bother me was the instructions warn you about over heating. Top mixers don’t overheat, this one does. I tried it. It cuts out straight away but it can hinder your cooking, obviously.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis is a fabulous mixer! The mixing bowl is large and holds a lot of capacity and it comes with 3 different mixing implements. It’s 1000w and is very affective in its mixing. It’s fast and easy to use. It’s super easy to clean and with it being black you can see any flour left behind.
It’s great in black with rose gold accents and isn’t so large that it doesn’t fit into my smaller size kitchen.
It does exactly what it says on the box, it mixes well and I couldn’t be happier with this mixer. It’s a great value for money and I would absolutely buy it in the future. It’s currently available at 89.99 and so worth it!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersMy wife loves using this now that we have one.

She used to use the handheld mixers and slowly mix the flour.

Now with this mixer its saved so much time and effect with its 6 speed which you can easily adjust.

The mixing bowl is nice and big so we can make much more dough than before as we needed to do it in a few rounds as our family is quite big.

The mixer is powerful and is done really quick and really well.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersAn excellent small mixer that does everything you need it to do. Slightly smaller footprint than other mixers I have had and so takes up less space. Perhaps not so heavily built than more well-known brands and so perhaps best for slightly lighter more occasional use. If you make firm bread dough on a daily basis, I would invest in a heavier machine. That aside it is very good value indeed and will do the job nicely. It looks attractive and would sit well on most kitchen surfaces. No ports for adding extras such as food processors or mincers and if you need these extras, than this is not the machine for you. But for simple mixing and less to go wrong, it is very good value. As you would expect all the tools and bowl are dishwasher safe. The controls feel firm and positive.

  84. ChiquitMcLoud says:

This a full sized 1000 watt mixer. It comes in a rather handsome black with gold coloured highlights and there’s a whole set of other kitchen devices available in the same livery if you’ve got a big enough kitchen.

My wife is a cooking fanatic and she pretty much fell on this mixer with squeaks of joy as we’ve never had one of the big industrial style mixers before and she’s always said that one is necessary to make really good cakes.

The mixer performed exactly as promised. It’s powerful and does pretty much exactly what it says on the tin.

The implements go in the dish washer and because of the black finish it’s easy to clean as every speck of flour shows.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersReally good mixer that feels such good value for money, I was really surprised.

I thought I would put it through its paces with some dough, which can be tough on some mixers. I made some tea cakes which is not a really stiff dough but still a good test and it was fine.
The control on the side feels good and the control to lift the top back all feels smooth and well made. I loved the stainless steel bowl as it is something that washes well and can easily go in the dishwasher if needed.
The look of the mixer is very trendy with the rose gold trim and controls and would look very nice if being left out on the counter top.
The whisk, dough hook and beater as well as the bowl can all go in the dishwasher although all easy clean anyway.
    Good priced mixer. Recommended.

    Performance was good
