However, when i received the product and tested it out, it blew me away completely, the quality was much better then what i was expecting, just check the videos and photos ive posted, although amazon compresses it, its still high HD quality, but when you record it yourself and check it on your computer the quality is so much better.
It was easy to install and setup. The front camera gives you full HD video and photos with good quality audio. The back camera gives you only 720p video and photos but its good enough for inside the car.
One thing you should be aware is that the front and back camera record videos in separate files, so you end up with two videos. Its highly customisable and you can switch the screen of the camera to front, back or both.
After you setup the device, you can also adjust the back camera vertically independently.
A really good product, trust me you won’t be disappointed with this purchase.
This product most important to uber Drivers, it’s video out put more quality than others product. We can see vehicle numbers tonight and also good audio recording. In side and out side both full HD recoding perfect . I used more products DVR but this Vantrue N2 is superb than past experience. I recommended this product to all of you

I needed a dashcam after recently buying a new car. When I took the cam out of the box, I was really impressed with how solid and well built it felt. After installing it in the car and tucking the cables away behind the trim it was really easy to setup. It was just a case of plugging it into the supplied cigarette lighter cable and it would automatically start recording when the engine starts. The video quality is great both inside and outside the car. The only small issue I had was that I had to buy an SD card before I could use the dashcam (went for a 64gb SanDisk for 10), which needed formatting inside the camera before use and I would recommend reading this in the instructions first (which I didn’t do!). Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase and that’s why I’m giving it 5 stars.
Bought after reading earlier reviews. The unit can be discreetly placed by the rear view mirror and after permanently wiring into the fuse box with the appropriate kit the lead was easily tucked under the head lining and pillar trim. Easily and quickly installed, it’s nice to have recording coverage to the front and to the rear for whenever an incident occurs. Not been needed yet but nice to know it’s always recording. The camera was easily mounted with the supplied suction cup and it holds nicely without modifying the vehicle so can be moved onto my next car.
Warmly recommended for Porsche and other sport car owners! Put it on rear window of your car, and the you can record yourself driving, cars behind and cars in front. Perfect for an open track day or similar!
Image quality – Having a camera is one thing, but if the quality isn’t good enough to pick up the smaller details, like number plates or people’s faces, it’s not very useful. This camera has no problems with image quality, recording in 1080p. I’ve attached a photo, one still frame of one of the video’s taken with this camera showing how clearly you can see the number plate of both the car in front and the car on the other side of the road passing by.
Build quality – Image quality is more important than build quality for me, for a camera that’s just going to sit on the dash-board, but this nails build-quality as well. The setup is quite unique and quirky, but in a great way. The power lead runs from the cigarette lighter into the mount that sticks to the windscreen and then the camera itself clips into the mount, this means you don’t have to unstick the camera from the windscreen to take the camera off to download the photos.
Accessing footage – You have a few options here – you can view the video on the screen, which is quite small so not usable if you want to see anything in detail. You can disconnect the whole camera from the windscreen mount and connect it to your laptop using the Mini USB cable provided, which allows you to access the files just like a USB stick, or you can leave the whole camera on your dashboard, taking just the Micro SD card, and put that into your laptop directly if you have a port, or using a usb-adapter, and access the files just like a USB stick.
Overall a great camera, the best I’ve had to date. I’ve been using one of Vantrue’s other cameras for over two years without issue, just upgrading to this one as it has both the front and cabin cameras. I’ve had to use the footage from my last camera twice, one for witnessing an accident and the other for a road rage incident, both times the footage has made the difference and definitely paid for itself.
I’ve seen so many good videos on YouTube about this dash cam and also here on amazon so I thought I give a go and buy it. I didn’t regret at all, the best quality dash cam I ever had, worth to pay a bit more for it.
It comes with everything to mount on the windscreen, all included in the box such like Suction Cup Mount and Mini USB Cable, Car Charger and user manual. Didn’t needed to much time for me to set it up but I knew what I’m doing because I had dash cams before. After the first week I can confirm for the future buyers, this is an amazing gadget. The most impressing is the video quality. I downloaded the movies onto my computer and so much fun to watch it back. I’m not really tech savvy so I’m not sure about the resolutions, but definitely Full HD. It has a front and rear camera, which means can record the road on front of the car in 170″ wild angle and also can record the river/inside the car. This feature is the best in my opinion I can watch how my wife reacts in a dangers situation :)). I’m using a 64GB SD card I think this is the max which is supported by the dash cam but It’s plenty. If the card get’s full, the camera will delete the oldest movie to have enough space fort the recent one. With this feature will never end up with a full SD card.
So far I didn’t find any downside of this camera. I’m thinking now to buy the GPS module or receiver for it. So Yes, I’m well impressed with this dash cam, I won’t buy a 20 dash cam again, pointless to spend less but end up with a low build and video quality. Probably the best purchase I’ve done. Would recommend.

Amazing product maybe one of the best out there, simply to use it, amazing picture quality discrete and effective.
At first I was dubious about the quality of video from such a small unit. But my fears was unfounded when I played back and zoomed in much as practical. The detail is perfect for picking up reg numbers etc, and the sound is great too!
Excellent dash cam. Easy to use. Very clear footage. However for the rear camera, obviously you will see more of the interior of the car than the outside. The screen is quite small, the whole dash cam is quite small – about 10cm long and 4cm high.
The main attraction of the Vantrue Dual Dash Cam was the fact that with just one fitting you can see forward,back and most of the side of the vehicle.I had mine wired and fitted by a professional but it could be easier to just plug in to the cigarette lighter but i preferred not to see the wires,all in all very pleased with the equipment.
First, the N2 is a dual-channel camera. Its processor is a Novatek NT96655 and it supports HDMI and Mini USB 2.0. It only took me less than 10 minutes to unbox and have it installed and working straight out of the box.
I also was happy to see that the usb connections are the older Mini Usb and not the fragile Micro usb which are so easy to break and which makes this camera a vastly more robust choice. It is also removeable which makes it less of a target for thieves and allows you to take it indoors to view/download the footage on your pc or laptop and you could if you wanted use it as a normal camera as long as you power it with a power bank as it only lasts 15 mins on its internal battery.
The picture quality is sharp and clear; this dash cam uses 2 different sensors: NT99141 1/4″ CMOS for the front, and AR0330 1/3″ CMOS for the rear cam; you can read licence plates from a long way off which is the mark of a good lens and the field of view is very impressive with a full 310 degrees which is much larger than the standard 170 degrees used on budget dashcams and most of the pro ones; front at 170 degrees diagonal and 140 degrees diagonal in the rear.The apertures are f/2.0 for the front and back, respectively. It also features night mode and is by far the best I have seen in any dashcam so far. Power draw is 2.5watts measured at 0.5A at 5v I can confirm as the picture below shows.
I was fed up with useless dashcams so had started to use my Gopro but this has a much better field of view,clarity and the features outweigh anything else – I would also recommend installing the battery direct connection or use a powerbank so you can leave it to record while you are parked at the shops as most cars now as I found switch off their usb sockets and cigarette lighter power when the key is removed from the ignition.
All in all this is the best dashcam I have used – there is also a firmware upgrade available to give even better features and good aftersales support.
I would also recommend adding the GPS mount for speed and location info which I intend to do now I have this excellent system installed!

I thought it had working gps but you have to pay for new mount with GPS also the mount supplied is difficult to release to remove camera. Quality of video is very good. Because of the price I think it should come with GPS mount as some cheaper dashcam do.
Very pleased with this dash cam. Great quality video and easy to download to a PC. Bought the hardwire kit, so no trailing wires. Easy to clip and unclip from the housing so that I don’t have to leave it on display when the car is unattended. Would recommend.

Purchased this recently because I was involved in a accident that wasn’t my fault but in the end had to settle 50/50 with the other party due to lack of evidence. Although these have been around for a while I never really thought of getting one, but I guess it one of those things you wish you would of purchased after your involved in an accident. I saw this particular dash cam and was impressed with the specs, had exactly what I was after. Great dual view front and back, I figure it’s not good if you just have a front view and someone decides to cash into your rear. The parking mode is impressive too, automatically starts recording when your parked and an object or persons comes near the car, so doubles as security as well as conventional dash cam. The video quality is what you would expect from a premium product, you get what you pay for. It took me around 35 minutes to install, you could possibly do it quicker but I like to hide all the wires so my install is very neat. Quality of build is exceptional and the interface is easy to get along with. Overall very happy.
Die Verarbeitung und Qualitt ist gut, sie fhlt sich hochwertig an. Der Akku ist ausbaufhig. Nicht angeschlossen hlt sie gerade einmal ca. 30 Minuten. Muss demnach dauerhaft angeschlossen sein.
Am Anfang war die Installation etwas knifflig, eine Anleitung in Deutsch ist nicht dabei, aber mit ein wenig rum probieren klappt es.
Die Anbringung ist einfach, mit dem Saugnapf an der Scheibe befestigt kann sie noch hoch und runter eingestellt werden.
Wie von Vorrezensenten erwhnt, kann man sie bei dunklen Lichtverhltnissen leider vergessen, dafr ist sie nicht ausgelegt.
Ich bin jedenfalls zufrieden. Man bekommt eine ganz gute Bildqualitt und kann sowohl den Innenraum, als auch die Front beim Fahren aufnehmen. Von der Preis-Leistung bekommt sie eine Kaufempfehlung von mir 🙂

This is the best Dash Cam I have purchased so far.
It provides footage recording both outside front drivers view aswell as inside the car at a very high 1080P quality even Night recording is clear and visible.
It produces video footages of wach camera as a individual footage file instead of joining both together and making it difficult to review the footage.
It does take up to 128GB SD Memory card than stated 64GB is the maximum. Which is required if used for taxi purposes.
The best thing I like about this product is the ability to attach and dettach the camera of its mount without having to dismantle everything and re-assembling for next use.
Also the option to connect the powercable into the mount as well as the dash cam itself.
I would strongly recommend this product for taxi drivers.
The Best Car Dash Cam i have bought from Vantrue which is sold on Amazon UK, it has got very nice Camera Lens which is from Sony Plc, and the images from the front and rear are Cystral Clear when a video or picture taken for evidence for your own car insurance claim or to local Police Force during any type of insurance claim due to car accidents which could also be evidence for fraud car insurance claim against the 3rd Party Driver and also for other things because gives the exact location on this Car Dash Cam.

This is my first experience of dashcams. It is excellent in all ways. Opened box and was pleasantly surprised by the feel and quality of the camera. It felt like a proper hand held camera not like some of the cheaper plastic car cams.Very impressed with the wide angle lens for the front camera,while 170 degree wide angel lens will reduce blind spots and obtain full 4 lane coverage, captures the license plates cars as well as road signs during the day and night. There’s no where to speak to the seller…can this be rectified?! The product keeps turning itself on and off after 2/3 months of use. I think there’s a faulty connection. Product has been great so far.
Great little dash cam for my sons car, easy to install, really clear playback and a small problem we had with a part that was missing was dealt with promptly. Polite and friendly communication from Vantrue, always answered my emails and I would not hesitate to use them again.
The camera looks and feels robust and has a quality feel to it. The styling looks right and is unobtrusive in the cabin, yet is effective in capturing external activity on the road, equally any intrusion into the car.

The angle is too low for my car i adjust as far as it will go and the camera films too much of my dash and not high enough. Bought a 256gb sd and find out 64gb is biggest.
The inside footage is excellent, it is almost as if it was designed more for inside than out. You can see the second photo

It’s hard to use the buttons to navigate the modes. Getting it into parking mode is a bit of guesswork. It shouldn’t be so hard to do.
Seems to work well. So far have not had the need to use its evidence.
Things like not being able to go to the menus while recording is on and since there is no stop button you will need to find out it’s the ok button.
Happy to have it and I ordered the GPS mount for it. I am happy but I dropped it by 1* as you need to be a bit tech savvy to figure it out. Most will get it. Some will be frustrated.
I would buy it again unless there was one similar with better low light.
Bought this dashcam,as I have read good reviews about it. One of the best features is having a sharp recording image, and that was a must have on my list. So far the dashcam has performed really well and is easy to use. I would recommend getting a GPS mount, as well as a hardwire kit. I bought a 32gb memory card, but I think it can take 64gb ? Make sure you read the instructions fully, and update to the latest software version. I have recently had a few near misses from careless drivers on the road, and feel without this dash cam, I wouldn’t be able to show evidence.
Having been in a major car crash where liability is disputed, I decided to invest in a dashcam to protect myself.
When looking around the options, the N2 repeatedly came up as a good choice and I decided to take the plunge – especially liking the way the charger plugs into the mount rather than into the N2 itself – this helps to hide it.
Having tested for a couple of days, my initial thoughts are that the setup was very easy and quick. The front facing camera is clear (and I believe I can edit the parameters to make it even better – further testing will tell!). The internal camera is also very good though I have to find the best position around the rearview to get everything in whilst not hindering vision. Finally the audio is incredibly clear.
All in, I’m not disappointed and look forward to testing more.
Does the job. Slightly annoying intuit unlike a satinet with a rechargeable battery, it won’t work if not permanently plugged in to a power source
I have been using my Vantrue N2 dash cam and been viewing both types of videos (internal cam and external cam), and I can say I’m very satisfied with this product.
It’s a good build quality and videos are very clear (even the internal cam that records only in 720p, but that’s actually enough).
The front cam with 1080p is even clearer of course, even though a front cam with 1440p would be even better evidently, but you’ll find that all manufacturers as of today do not offer a dual dash cam with a front cam of 1440p (unless I have missed something but I believe what I say is true currently).
If you want to go for 1440p or higher resolution, then you can see license plates from even further away, but won(t have a vision for the rear direction. And having a view of what’s behind and on the side is, in my opinion, useful. Accidents do not necessarily occur at the front of your vehicle! It’s particularly useful to see vehicles potentially tailgating you, like I experienced yesterday, or people shaving your vehicle too close when crossing them on narrow UK roads…
Regarding the wiring inside the car, it’ll be a bit tricky to do this neatly without a special kind of tape. Especially if you have a luxury vehicle, it’s impossible to “tuck the cable in” as they suggest in the manual as there’s no gap whatsoever. So currently my cable is half dangling but I’ll find a solution to make it run neatly.
Setting up the camera is very easy, as well as viewing videos/photos.
Also the camera is quite small which means it really does not impede your view of the road.
I recommend this product.
Personally i think it’s very necessary to have a dash cam in Southern California as we basically drive anywhere and anytime. Obviously we are lack of public transportation systems and the traffic is known the worst in USA.I had a Papago GS520 in another car which i liked, except it doesn’t have rear camera and the front view angle is only 146 degree wide.
I was trying to buy one for my 2nd car and then attracted by the neat design of the Vantrue N2 when shopping around. The features it has ultimately helped me to make the final decision to purchase, and it turned out to be a good decision(Thanks to the detailed product description and comments/videos/pictures posted by verified purchasers).
The best part of this Vanture N2 I think after i used for over 2 weeks: It has 170 degree wide in the front and 140 degree in the rear camera, both are HD quality (BTW, i just found out i can turn the rear camera around too, nice!). The recording quality is so great that even if I was driving in the most right lane, it can clearly record the cars coming the other direction. The sound recording is also very clear, you may hear my little boy singing a Halloween song in the attached video, which is his favorite song while I actually didn’t know why 🙂
The installation was quite easy, it may take a little time to hide the cables, depending on what car you put it in. my Audi was much easier than Honda Oddessy.
Finally, tips for everyone: When you have to use some tool to push the cables inside, make sure to use soft tools or cover the tool with cottons or any soft materials, just to avoid scratching your car.
Front and back cams on the same device is nice solution, especially when you need to have inside view.
Ability to change the back camera angle – very smart solution.
Front and back camera resolutions: 1440×1080 @ 30fps and 1280×720 @ 30fps really enough, but having 1920×1080@30fps for the front camera in DUAL mode would be awesome.
User interface very clear and there is nothing superfluous.
Product support is fast.
I would prefer to see “Car Windshield Suction Cup Mount” which is able set not only to the up and down, but also to the left and right (that is needed when you sometimes want to capture the person who is staying near the driver or passenger door without unplugging device from the mount).
Also i would prefer to have possibility choose which mount to buy with dashcam (with GPS receiver or without).
Device is compact and have a lot of functionalities, such as: HDR, GPS, Parking mode, Event recording, Time lapse and Motion detection, Overall, i am happy with the purchase of VANTRUE N2.
Everything top notch but the screen a tad small to review on site. The 32gb sd limitation isn’t a problem but it’ll only keep a couple of days full driving before looping over. I would recommend the GPS mount and the software for it is available through Vantrue.
I bought this after being run off the road by the proverbial White Van Man with a deathwish. It got me thinking that idiots like that needed to be held account when they cause incidents, and at least Video footage might show who was actually at fault. Its a clever piece of kit. Simple to install, and the Power adaptor has a rotating cap with a second USB charger in it, so your Phone can also be charged on the journey. The Picture Quality is stunning at the front, and very good for the rear. I bought an integrated Dual camera so I would not have to send wires to the rear of the car, and although you see the occupants in the view- the rear window image is good enough if Magnified to identify Number Plates etc. Overall- VERY happy with my purchase, and now I have it in place, I’m still hoping I actually never need to rely on its files to prove guilt or innocence. Other have coplained about the files being .MOV I use VLC on a PC so I dont have any issue with this format.
I ordered the Vantrue N2 Dashcam for my own car having used the similar Oasser which is now unavailable. I got it for a great deal at 100 and wish I had ordered this for work too as it is very intuitive!
This is a sleek design that does not protrude or cause an obstruction from view.
It sits on the windscreen just under the mirror, and the cable is more than long enough to hide along the edge of the windscreen and reach to a power outlet. I particularly like how the power cable connects directly to the suction cup, meaning if you need to pull footage off, you just unclip the dash cam itself without having to touch the wiring. Another great feature is the power outlet comes with a hidden USB port on it, meaning you can still use the outlet to power a GPS or your phone at the same time.
The dashcam footage is also very high quality and has a far angle reach on both cameras. The front facing camera is excellent at night and the rear facing camera can have its angle adjusted to allow for its own positioning.
I have found this dashcam to be very reliable, and given the chance, recommend it to friends and would buy another one.

his by far the most usable car cam. although the viewing angle is not as wide as the other product on the market. The relase mechanism on the sucker is not very sturdy, so be very careful when you take if off the windscreen.
The camera is functioning as I expected. What I liked most of all is that Vantrue themselves never gave up when I reported problems. They assisted through to a satisfactory conclusion. They left me feeling that they want me to be happy with using the camera.

Update: Vantrue’s customer service is exceptionally good. They have emailed me no less than a dozen times to help me remedy the playback issue. They have suggested that I update the firmware to facilitate playback. I have not done that because of discomfort with what is involved. Even if the firmware were updated, the .mov files would still not play on a computer running Windows 10 with the W10 defaults. One would still have to install another movie player such as Quick Play or a converter like I did. It may be that all dashcams have that issue; I don’t know. In the end, this is a good camera; does everything I want it to do, the profile is very small and virtually inconspicuous and it is easy to use–instructions are in clear English and the company support is extraordinary. I recommend this device with the provision that you know what will be required for playback. I have changed my rating from 3 stars to 4.
It’s one of the best dashboard camera but only has 2 disadvantages… One is it has no night vision for interior and one is after using it a few months then unfortunately the date every day when you turn it on gets 01/01/2016 reset automatically..

Bought this camera over a month ago and since I have put it up on my windscreen the suction cup has held it in place the whole time. The dashcam was easy to set up and install. The front camera for day and night driving is clear and good quality. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is that the rear view camera facing into the car at night time does not show anything in great detail as it does not have IR whereas the front camera does. I have not used the parking mode yet so cannot comment on that, but it is nice to have just in case. The dashcam can also record audio from within the car which sounds good when replaying any clips. Overall I am happy with this product as all the clips I have played back show everything that should be there.

Purchased this GPS mount to go with Vantrue N2 so I could see GPS location and speed on video playback. Good quality product – Easy to install as the standard mount. Micro USB connects to power lead. A great addition to the N2 and good value too.
Exceptionally good value for money, customer service is second to none. I would recommend this to anyone to buy. There are many other dash cams which are far more expensive than this which are in fact significantly inferior to this, I have looked at several.
I bought this as a replacement for an EPrance model about 4 months ago. I don’t need the rear view camera so I only use it looking ahead, the camera sits nicely near the mirror which gives it a good view of the road without obstructing my vision. I have already had cause to save one of the video’s after an incident happening in front of me, I wasn’t directly involved but near enough to observe the cause. The video was easy to download to send to their insurance company, I particularly like the way the camera clips into its suction mount, its really easy to remove and replace even in the dark. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is that sometimes when it switches on it goes into stills mode rather than video but switching it off and back on again (also very easy with this model) resets the system quickly. I’ve found the picture quality excellent even at night, its easy to see what was happening on the download files, I would prefer it if it used quicktime format for storage but my mac converts the video within seconds so its not a big problem.
Purchased this dash cam because of the excellent reviews and the two cameras. Installation was relatively easy if you’re just putting it into the cigarette lighter socket, but you won’t get the parking mode working that way (usually because they are on the ignition circuit). Hence I’ve now ordered the vantrue hard wired kit from amazaon too.. but that comes from China and that takes some time. Nice touch with the power being delivered through the moutning plate too. I was hoping to put this on the passenger side (UK) of the car so it would not be directly in the line of sight for the driver, but due to the rear facing camera being on the right hand side of the unit really it has to go on the drivers side (otherwise the lens is behind the rear view mirror).. However, the unit is relatively small and not too distracting even when placed in that location. The rear facing LCD screen goes off within a minute or two of starting off, so its not that noticeable (even in the dark). The rear camera does manage to capture the rear quarter views and back view from the car, even if its probably not good enough to identify a number plate (I’ve yet to check that), but if someone hits you from the rear, I think you’ll see enough to convince them you weren’t reversing into them at the time (well thats my hope anyway!).
I think the video quality is reasonably decent in both front and rear. For what is basically a fixed-focus, fish-eye lens recording from a moving/vibrating platform, with incoming light varying from looking directly at the sun (while still being able to see almost everything in the frame around the sun – AMAZING) all the way to middle of the night darkness it is hugely impressive to me. NOTE: I have not tried the slightly higher resolution, front only recording setting yet.
I will say that the rear facing cam is basically useless at night though (might be the best time for that higher rez, front only setting…). Only the front cam seems to have the HDR (High Dynamic Range) feature enabled. So night time interior video is basically just black with vague headlights shining trough the rear and occasionally a side window. Daytime seems to work quite well for me though the factory tinted rear glass in my SUV may be helping with the glare others have reported from the rear window.
Also I’m SERIOUSLY impressed with how much the interior mike picks up… I didn’t realize just how much I talk/mumble to myself and/or grumble at other drivers (or even sing horribly off key…) while I’m in the car alone. 😉
My recorded video sometimes flickers and jumps a bit but I think it’s because I’m temporarily using an old class-4 micro SD card I had lying around wile waiting for the new, recommended class-10 32Gb card I ordered to arrive in the mail. Having played with a few other record-to-SD-card cams in the past, I think the issue is the write speed on the card I have is not quite keeping up with this cams high-volume HD output writing to the video files so it’s losing some data once in a while due to buffer overflows.
I have not had ANY of the reported issues others have reported like losing the clock time, parts falling off or other issies with the window mount, etc.
My last piece of advice: Ignore the massively downsized, low-rez videos attached to the any of the reviews on this site. Search YouTube for full HD examples and video reviews of the output from this cam. I did that and the cam I received produces video at pretty much exactly the quality I expected based on those reviews. There were NO surprises (either good or bad) for me when I got this cam…
I’m also still waiting on the GPS mount I ordered so I may add more to this review after that arrives as well.
All around, I’m quite happy with this cam so far.
I’ve been using the dual dash cam for 3 weeks and have found the images recorded to be perfectly clear and just what’s needed in the event of an accident. Using both together, the resolution of the front camera is 1440×1080 and the rear facing camera 1280×720. If only using the forward camera the resolution can be set to a higher 1920×1080 if preferred. The images at night are very good from the forward camera, but the rear facing camera struggles if there’s no light in the car. It’s intended to record the inside (useful for taxi drivers, for example) but I’ve found that it can also capture number plates of cars behind during the day or at dusk if they’re close enough, which is sufficient for me. The wide angle lenses (170 and 140 degrees respectively) capture a lot of the activity around the car. I don’t have the separate GPS mount that will record speed and coordinates on the images but will probably get one in the near future.
I’m using a 32GB microSD card (note that the 64GB card I already had didn’t work) but the smaller size isn’t a concern as the recording will loop and overwrite older files automatically. There’s a sensor that protects a recording in the event of an impact so evidence isn’t overwritten.
I use the parking function when I’m not in the car as I’ve had cars vandalised in the past, and there’s a choice of time-lapse images or recordings triggered by a motion sensor, which are captured by the front camera only.
Overall the N2 offers great value for money and I’m very pleased with my purchase given the overwhelming variety of cameras on the Market nowadays.
I looked about for some time investigating dashcams and trying to make up my mind about which one to choose. I had my sights set on several different ones and had virtually made up my mind on which one I was going to purchase, when I came upon this dual Dashcam by Vantrue. I read all the details about it and it seemed to tick all the boxes in what I wanted in a Dashcam, and on reading the reviews most of which were very positive I decided to take the plunge.
The dash cam came very well packed and was in pristine condition and had a comprehensive manual with it which made it very easy to set up the dashcam. I couldn’t wait to try it out and got it all connected up and went for a drive. It is pretty unobtrusive in use and the quality of the recording both front and rear are second to none. I have also used it at night and once again the quality of the recordings is first class. I have ordered a hard wiring kit and as soon as I receive it I will get it hard wired in my car. I have been using it now for nearly 2 weeks and I am completely satisfied and in future if I have a problem with some road hog, I will have the evidence at my disposal to prove who was at fault. If like me you are hesitating about which dashcam to buy I can only say that I am absolutely certain that I have made the correct decision.

I have had the Dashcam now for over a year and I am still very impressed with it, I have never had a problem and the recordings are very clear both day and night. I had an incident last week when a lorry came round a bend on the wrong side of the road, struck and broke off my electric wing mirror and drove on without stopping. I chased him and caught him and the Vantrue N2 had recorded everything perfectly showing him to be completely in the wrong. I contacted his company and the Transport Manager accepted full liability for the incident and are paying for the repairs which are nearly 400. The recording clearly showed him rounding the bend hafway across the white line and the GPS module which I also purchased also shows the speed location and the route and is a great addition fro the Dashcam. The GPS module also doubles as a suction cup mount and is the same impressive build quality. So overall The Vantrue N2 has more than paid for itself and I can heartily recommend it as one of my best ever buys, and the Hard Wire Kit and the GPS Module and excellently priced additions and also fall into that category. Because of the above I have also bought my wife the Vantrue X1, and she feels much safer now knowing that the X1 is recording constantly while she is on the road.
As a frequent long distance traveller in Europe I have purchased as a Christmas prezzie for my partner along with recommended memory card. Having done background checks I believe it fits his requirements and looks relatively easy to set up. Packaged safely and securely. Arrived on right day as promised.
Firstly I shopped around for a dash cam that gave the best value for money and this Vantrue N2 dash cam certainly fit the bill for me so am absolutely delighted to have purchased. When opening the box which is extremely well packaged, I noted that the dash cam is smaller than I expected which is a great plus in order to neatly fit behind my dashboard mirror. I also noted that the suction mount was extra secure because it has a ‘switch’ fastening. Its a shame all dash cams do not have this feature as it will never lose its hold on the windscreen. The dual charger lead is 10ft long! Perfect to fit any size car and has a hidden USB easy click port which is perfect for charging your phone etc at the same time. Just simply plug into your 12v cigarette lighter and as soon as you start your engine the dash cam is recording immediately. You also have the option to switch off the back dash cam if you wish and film front facing footage only. Thats one of the great things about this dash cam – you get many options in the easy to follow menu.
Beautifully and solidly made with a classy octagonal design, the Vantrue N2 is a must buy dash cam for an incredible price when you consider that it not only has a 170 degree and 180p front facing camera which gives you greater and comprehensive footage for motorways journeys etc., but also a back facing 140 degree camera too with parking mode and optional GPS, purchased separately. I have only just purchased the optional GPS mount and am awaiting its arrival so will review the GPS mount in due course. You will not find a dash cam that has this many top class features for the price.
The front cam footage is crystal clear and that also goes the for the back camera. Also the sound quality of this dash cam has been tested against many dash cams on the market and comes out on top on all of the comparison reviews that I have viewed. Seriously crystal clear sound, not muffled and distorted as in other dash cams including some highly expensive ones.
Unlike many manuals the one included is comprehensive and very easy to follow showing simple basic set up and other easy to follow options. Thank heavens as you don’t have to download via a computer which is the norm these days. I cannot reiterate how easy this dash cam is to set up. The menu is a doddle to follow and has an expensive look and feel about it. You can not only view the front footage on the camera (full screen), but also what is going on in the rear (full screen) via A or B options. Also so easy to set up and view on your PC, Tablet or TV.
One extra thing to note is that Vantrue gave exceptional customer care (before and after sales). I had a few general queries and they could not have been more helpful. This for me is also a great comfort to get a quick response that was friendly, helpful and informative.
A no brainer for anybody considering buying a dash cam that is not only ‘all singing and dancing’ but is so easy to set up and use. For peace of mind which was my sole reason for buying in case of an accident it is just perfect.

Having had many different types of dash Cams over the years as a driving instructor I must say this is by far the best and most easiest to use. If you require high quality images of the front and inside/rear of the car for around best evidence in an accident or for tuitional purposes you can’t go wrong with this system, highly recommended.
Bought this after reading the reviews of others that had purchased this item. So far I am very pleased with this product, it gives a good quality video both front and rear, although I have it set only on the forward camera at the moment. The wide angle lens is really good and gives a wide field of view. It is very easy to download the video to my desktop and the quality of the recording is good. The unit sits nicely just below the rear view mirror and is not intrusive to the view through the windscreen, the only small negative point is the reflection of the dash and bonnet of the car in the windscreen, which is seen on the video, this said it is also largely due to the way the car is built and not a fault of the unit. Good product very satisfied with the results.

This a very good dash cam video quality is very good including night mode which very clear with very low noise. Park mode is also good idea but it needs to be powered via the car the onboard battery is not big. The build quality is top. Also very good packaging instructions and manual. The cable you get is also good length. Dual cam is also a bonus.

I have been looking for a dashcam for a while now. There are so many to choose from i had a budget in mind an did stick to it an got one, when i did come i was not to impressed with it. I decided to up my budget an found the vantrue n2 it had all i wanted front/rear camera full hd. When the n2 arrived it looked the part, manual very easy to read plenty of info to get you up an running. Menu easy to use. Pictures are both clear. I work with the public a lot an have seen a change in how i am spoken too as they can see everything that happening is recorded. Overall the vantrue is well worth its cost.
Easy to setup and use. Small enough that it can be pretty much hidden from view.
The first camera is your standard front facing camera to capture what is going on ahead of you. The second is a rear facing camera to capture what’s going on in the car.
There is a little screen on the back which is really useful for getting the camera positioned correctly and going through the various options available.
The camera comes with a brilliant windscreen mount which has a USB port for the power cable, meaning when you want to take the camera out of the car you don’t need to disconnect it from the USB cable.
The provided USB cable has also been smartly designed as it’s not just for powering the cameras, but also acts as a USB point if you want to charge you mobile on the go.
Setup is easy enough, you’ll want to spend a bit of time in the camera menus to set things like the time and date. There is also a GPS menu but that appears to be for if you purchase a GPS addon.
Footage is very good and the benefit of having two cameras becomes apparent when reviewing the files.
Rather than a single file featuring both videos (which would mean part of the front camera footage was obscured) you actually have two files that are named almost the same, but one is A and one is B.
Opening them you get to see a lot more than a single camera setup, the front camera captures the usual footage of what’s happening up ahead, the rear camera adds a wide angle shot that shows what is happening behind and to the side of you.
So if something were to happen you get a much better idea of how it has happened. In a single camera setup you’ve covered the front, but if something hits your side or rear you’re not going to see it happen, with this you will.
The camera also records sound. I did actually talk to the camera for the video review to demonstrate the mic pickup but realised on reviewing the footage that because two cameras are recording at the same time my footage had been lost.
I was using a 4GB card, but I’d recommend getting 32GB (the largest this supports) to ensure you have lots of room for both cameras footage.
It’s be good if a large memory card and GPS was included out the box, but this would drive the price up as this manages to deliver two good quality cameras for not much more than some single camera setups.
