I need a hip replacement so I need an assist in getting up from the toilet and this fits the bill perfectly! I highly recommend this for anyone needing that extra boost to stand up from the toilet.

I was expecting a very sturdy rail to lift my weight off the toilet seat. What I purchased did that but with using caution because the handles are not fixed to the floor and they raise up and down. If they had a way to anchor the legs to the floor permanently, the device would be perfect for disable people. I would have loved the option of stabilizing the safety bars to the floor.

The adjustment on the legs work wonderful so you have a good angle to lift yourself up. The arms adjust individually to create a custom width. Love these 2 features.

So easy and fast. When you consider the time needed to install a wall bar or other item this thing is a no brainer. It also really guides the dementia patient to sit more square on the toilet which was our main problem besides the stability arm assist to standing.

I needed something to get up from my toilet but didn’t have the room for grab bars. The Vive toilet rail takes up very little space while giving me needed rails to push up from. The rails must be on a dry floor in order to support.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAt first, my husband said it wouldn’t work because he didn’t have the strength to lift off toilet using hand rails. He is tall and I had set the legs on medium setting but I found that by lowering the legs to the lowest setting so that armrests actually sloped downward a bit, that he could lift off. I also like the fact that you can adjust the width. Our toilet is much closer on one side to wall. I was able to adjust one side to be as far open as possible and the other a little closer because of wall.

But it’s not the design fault. First of all, securing the pipe where the toilet seat screws in, can only be as stable as the laches which fit over and then screw in. Then if you have a high toilet height, the legs supporting the arms are only
going to work on the first buttons that attach. so you have the minimum of metal within metal for support. Let’s face it, nothing in this world is perfect, nothing. If you are a heavy person and tall needing that higher toilet then get a safety rail which has two more legs, perhaps extra braces across to accommodate your physical needs. I tried my bedside porta potty which I never used recuperating with a broken hip/arm (neighbor’s unleashed hideous pug wrapped the leash around my ankles causing me to fall and break the ball off the end of my leg bone)..back to porta potty, you would think that would work? didn’t Last thing you want to look at is more depressing orthopedic crap. So this support while not perfect is probably the least offensive LOL

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI installed two of these for a customer who has a wider body than most and was able to customize the fit for her perfectly. The unit assembles in a few minutes without tools and then requires only the momentary removal of the two toilet seat retaining bolts to mount the assembled rails which then need to be well tightened to a thoroughly cleaned mating surface. Any grunge or soapy residue on the hinge contact area may allow the assembly to move around a bit. (I cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol)

These are very nice grab bars for the toilet it’s very easy to assemble and seems pretty sturdy the only problem is the suction cups may not work on every floor I have smaller tiles which don’t allow the suction cups to grab onto very easily. It does pop off because of the tile gaps. I don’t use the suction anymore and it’s still decently stable.

I temporarily needed this after an operation, so I am younger than most people buying this.

In general it was easy to install and very helpful sitting and standing from the commode. One issue is that the legs are stabilized by suction cups to the floor. As I used the safety frame the suction cups tended to slowly creep back wards making the legs non-vertical and a little wobbly at times. Be careful.

Like the other Vive products I’ve purchased and installed recently, the toilet rail is easy to assemble and incredibly sturdy in place. I do, however, have one cautionary tale to share. The front of my toilet tank is just a little bit rounded and I ended up having to take the toilet rail to a friend who could grind it down a smidge so that it would fit. It wasn’t a big deal and it was easy fix, but had I thought of this earlier, I might have made a different choice in which toilet rail I purchased.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersSo here’s the review:
This item is SO great! I never realized just how much I could love a set of toilet rails. It’s my new favorite thing, replacing peanut butter cups.
Right now I’m doing gymnastics over my toilet, having realized that these are really just an extremely short set of paralell bars. I’m hanging mid-air in an inverted pike position. How great!
The people who made these really knew what they were doing. They managed to include a steam-punk sort of industrial design with actual functionality. So clever.
Ya gotta love the color, too. It’s somewhere between a gun metal grey, and a gun metal grey.
I’m still trying to figure out what the purpose of the suction cups on the base of the legs is, since they don’t adhere to my smooth, tile floor. If I had to guess, I would say these are dual-purpose, allowing the user to ascend the tallest of glass-clad skyscrapers.
One hint to new owners: If you detach one, or both legs you can place a roll of toilet paper on there. In that position it will act as a passive absorbent, sucking up random liquids on your bathroom floor. It will also lend an “interesting” look to the unit, and a great conversation starter.

As I’ve said, I simply wanted to give this five stars.

I had my knee replaced and had been told that one of the hardest things would be getting off the toilet. In anticipation I ordered this product.
I didn’t do the installation myself but it didn’t look too difficult.
It was extremely helpful to use to get off the toilet. I was wishing for one in each bathroom of my house.
My only complaint was that it felt a bit shaky at first. Not enough that I thought I was going to fall down but enough to make me just a teeny nervous the first few times I used It. Once I learned that it wasn’t going to give way I didn’t worry about it again.
Solid enough for this 230 pound gimp to put significant pressure on it to stand up and also to help lower myself onto the toilet.
    I highly recommend!

My only criticism/suggestion would be that the handrails aren’t adjustable for height of the arm rests themselves. I’d prefer it if they were a couple of inches lower. I’m only 5’4″.

ordered the Vive Toilet Rail after initially ordering a free standing one from another vendor. this over the toilet model was much simpler and fit the space better so sent back the free standing model.
Only reason I gave it a 4 star rather than 5 is the difficulty in keeping the thing from loosening as it is used. Not a serious problem but I had to re-tighten to the toilet several times before it became solid. Otherwise, I would recommend very much.

The product works great, easy to install. However, the suction cup legs do not work with my non slip tile in the bathroom. My tile has grooves in them for a non slip and therefore does not make a tight suction to keep the legs sturdy. I recomend double sided tape or non slip furniture sliders at menards to attach to the bottom of the legs.

East to install & put together. The arms aren’t fixed so they do wobble but not enough to compromise safety. We have tried several different styles and this has been the best so far.
Two things to note, again the legs are NOT fixed so they do wobble, but are sturdy, 2) i installed this on a newer model toilet seat with easy removable lid and it took a bit to get the fit tight. Worked, but does have to be undone to really clean well with this type of lid.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI have purchased 4 of these units in the past 6 months or so. These units have had slightly different mixes of features. Depending on which set of features you get, the overall quality ranges from 3 stars to 5 stars. However, I have noticed that the more recent purchases had more of the better features so hopefully these are product improvements being worked in as production goes along, and that all future units have the best feature set.

The variable features are 1) the ends of the vertical legs, which may be round caps such as on the end of a crutch, or wide suction cups, and 2) the method of attaching the arms to the mounting plate under the toilet seat, which may be detent pegs or screw-in wing nuts. The 1st 2 units I purchased had the round cap leg ends and the detent balls. The 3rd has suction cup feet and detent balls, which was a bit better. The 4th and most recent had the suction cups and the wingnuts, which was the best.

The detent balls, especially with the round cap feet, allow the arms to wobble a fair amount, which is a problem for users who themselves are wobbly. This is the 3-star version. The suction cup feet limit arm wobble a lot even with the detent balls, but there’s still some wobble. This is the 4-star version. The wingnuts plus suction cups make the arms totally rigid. This is the 5-star version. Hopefully this will be the configuration from here on.

Regardless of version, all these units assemble and mount to the toilet very easily, like in about 5 minutes. Any difficulty with installation will be due to the existing toilet seat mounting hardware, not this unit. As the toilet seat has to be removed and then reattached, certain types of mounting hardware are easier than others. So your mileage will vary depending on your pre-existing toilet seat hardware.

I am handy so installing it took 10 minutes and half of that was getting my tools, Screw gun and pliers. I have read reports with people saying it is wobbly, Well it is. But you need to look at what you are getting. It clips together and only mounts to the two toilet bolts. If you want something that isnt going to move at all get something to screw into the wall and floor!
This is perfect for what we need it for. A little extra support for some who needs something in the proper position to help themselves up.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe have purchased three sets of rails. They do the job of helping someone who is unsteady get down and up from the toilet. However, the rails are wobble unless you secure them with something like a bungi cord to get them in place, as we have found that the suction cups on the legs do not stick well to tile floors and hold the rails in place.

I liked the adjustable toilet rail. It is very useful and my elderly Father liked it.
As for the bed rail/handle, that one was not useful as designed because the horizontal legs must slide in between mattresses in order for it to work. I dob’t have two matresses and the one matress that I have, the bottom sits below the side rails of the bed frame. So I had to modify it and only used the legs and hand rail of your product and I clamped it to the outside of the bed frame side rail. Now it works lerfect.

very easy to install. The idea of this product is great, it is a bit wobbly but it gives a good handle to stand up/sit down with. I do wish there was a way to stabilize the legs better, they do have large suction cups on the bottom, but it doesn’t stick to my tile due to my grout lines. Considering everything it is a good buy. As you use it, your weight does help stabilize it but not for someone who is very wobbly.

My parents had a hard time getting off and on their commode even though it is handicap height. We had a riser but then tried this instead. It fixed my parents problem using the commode but also gave them security about grabbing on to something if they were wobbly on their feet. It’s easy to put together & install; and we adjusted it both in height and width. The bottom of the posts had suction cups which would really add a lot more stability to it if you have an un-carpeted floor. It’s a wee bit wobbly for us because my parents (ages 94 and 90) have carpeting in their bathroom. We are very happy with the product.

I have these bars and used a bolted on seat riser with it too.
even tightening them down they don’t stay “solid” and are a bit wobbly but unless you get the HARD CORE BOLT TO WALL AND FLOOR bars, you’re going to get WOBBLY.
this is metal and plastic there are rubber feet (suction cups) for the front though they keep coming unstuck (we have wooden floors) I don’t really need that I need her to be able to use them to guide, lift up, pull etc.

but so far doing nicely, and very easy to install. DOESN’T come with bolts. you bolt this on UNDER your toilet seat (in our case I have this UNDER the seat riser, and the toilet seat )
I get the feeling we are going to have to retighten these over and over.

the whole thing is EASY to put together, takes seconds,
then just a matter of getting under and putting bolts on (if you ever changed a toilet seat you know whta to do )

So many of these have tiny feet and are very wobbly which make them unsafe for unsteady people to use. This one has wide feet that allow the downward arms to stay firmly on the floor. Highly recommend. Just wish they would put a T where the back curve that goes up to the arms and put in another set of lets. That would give 4 points of contact with the floor and allow it to be even more sturdy. Think about it please.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this for my mother, who was having mobility issues. This stand was stable and provided support for her to sit and stand when using the toilet. My mother’s bathroom was very narrow, with a tub and toilet in one room and the sink outside of the room, so this was a tight fit, but it did work. This might not work for you if you have a toilet where the sink cabinet or bathtub is very close to the toilet. The rail is connected to the toilet by attaching it from under the toilet seat, so it sits securely around the toilet. Installation requires removal of the toilet seat, placement of the rail, and replacement of the toilet seat. The side rails are adjustable for height. My mother was about 5 feet tall, and we were able to adjust this low enough for her to use fairly comfortably, but she always had supervision when toileting so if she needed additional support to sit or stand, there was someone there to help.

You could also use Velcro strapping or something to put tension on the legs. Added a photo that I hope will be helpful. I think it is important to have stability, especially for elderly.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product has worked well for us. My husband, D. Cantrell is a quadriplegic and a very big man. I am his wife, caregiver and a small woman with a bad back. Duh, I wonder where the bad back came from. Currently D. has a C.diff infection so periodically the toilet needs to be completely dismantled and cleaned with bleach. God bless pop- off toilet seats. I was going to wait for help to install this but since I needed to “clean/bleach” the toilet and all surrounding parts, I thought what the heck go for it. It assembled easily. Since my walker fits just inside his custom bathroom, I was stable in my attempt. I was also pleased that the Toilet Rail also fit under and clear of the bidet that also uses the hinge screws for mounting. The frame of the bidet could also be extra stabilizing for the rails and explain why we have less of a wobble issue. I also planted the outside legs as far apart as I could — I didn’t just let them land where they wanted to.
About use: D. has rails on the walls around him his use this is more about once he gets his nose over his toes it gives him the extra oomph to get up and wall rail to safety. As I said this is a custom bathroom for a quad with limited function.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNice product. I was barely able to attach this to the toilet seat bolts because of tank design of my toilet is slightly rounded and the holes almost wouldn’t line up, but I was able to make it work. Be forewarned the handles are not rock solid because of the telescoping tubes sliding into one another design in order to achieve the correct height, but despite its’ slight wobbliness, it works, and is safe to use, The rubber feet prevent the legs from moving on the floor, therefore 5 stars especially considering the price. My father-in-law thinks it’s great.

Golden Review Award: 53 From Our UsersI have installed the rail but the true test will come after my upcoming knee replacement surgery. Seems a bit wobbly but should work.

Toilet Rail by Vive – Best Bathroom Safety Frame for Elderly, Handicap and Disabled – Toilet Safety Handrail Grab Bar – Adjustable Height – Lifetime Guarantee I like the product very much but, it can be improved. It needs another notch to make it narrower. The font legs lower to make it shorter but, again it needs to be lowered more. In line with this, the back support frame needs to have a notched lowering mechanism so that the front handles don’t slump forward. Is is rickety but, I see no easy fix for this. Still it provides adequate support.

Please let me know if you make these fixes. I would like to buy the improved mode.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersMy dad had knee replacement surgery and this is working out wonderfully for him. Because it is being used on a toilet that both of my parents use, it can be set to accommodate both safely. And even I, the most mechanically uninclined person in the world, was able to set it up with ease! It does wobble a bit but oh, that’s not an issue at all.

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersIt came on time and well packed.it went together simply and quickly.
It at last solved the problem. I am concerned that it is rather rickety although it says up to 300#.I am not near that and it is stable but wobbly.I also put cloth on side bars as cold bars on my legs was not good.Sure solved problem after several other tries with raised lids etc…go ahead and get one!

Golden Review Award: 51 From Our UsersPurchased this for my 90 year old Mother, she doesn’t think she needs it, but we are pleased with the product. It was easy to install and fit nicely in the area we had to work with. I would recommend this product.
