Got this to put in a position where I couldn’t run Ethernet cable easily. The Wi-Fi range is good and got the RTSP feed into Motion Eyes CCTV software on a raspberry pi running without too much trouble.

Only problem I seem to have is that the RTSP feed gets dropped when it flips from night mode to day mode which a daily camera restart seems to sort. I need to do more investigation as to over coming this issue.

We have various Wansview cameras and find them ideal for our needs.
They cover both the inside and outside of our property, including one pan & tilt.
They have proved reliable now for many months.
The set up and connection to the app is straight forward and SD picture quality is generally sufficient for our needs without having to use the FHD option.
As seen from the pics. night view is excellent.
It was really dark with no light other than provided from security camera, when the pic was taken (3:20am)
It’s possible to go back, via the app and check recordings over a period of time, as well as watch live view in real time.
We have a professionally installed cctv system, costing 100s and I can honestly say our Wansview cameras do just as good a job, with the added advantage that they are easily repositioned according to need.
One slight criticism, is that the motion detection and alert system can be over sensitive and need a lower setting, which is easily done via the app.
In all I am very impressed with Wansviews range of cameras and can recommend them.

    Good Value, Quality Product.

I have owned this Wansview W6 camera for a little over 1 year now, it was bought to replace another brand of camera that got water inside and stopped working.

The build quality is good, being metal construction and feels sturdy, the attachment bracket is strong and I have not had to adjust it all year.

WIFI connection is great, I had planned to use it over ethernet as my old camera could not maintain a good signal over WIFI in this location, this camera actually works fine over WIFI and maintains a good signal (I think you can see in the attached pic)

Setup using the Wansview app was very easy and I keep it on my phone for checking remotely. I mostly chose and use this camera for its range of functionality and the fact it works with Synology Surveillance Station. Something that a lot of cameras do not these days, especially at this sort of price point.

Picture quality is really good and it has a nice wide viewing angle, Night vision is also much much better than my old camera.

I don’t use the cloud features or the SD card recording features so cannot comment on those but if you are looking for something to use with a Synology NAS I can highly recommend it.

Good Value, Reliable and works without fuss

A great little camera, it took a couple of attempts to get it up and working and I had to manually add my router WiFi password. Once that was done the camera was working fine. The App is just about typical for IP camera Apps and works OK. I’m using it with Synology Surveillance Station and it was easy to integrate as Synology recognised the camera. So far it’s working well. The camera is about 40 feet from my house and is WiFi connected to an ethernet/WiFi extender and hence to my BT router. Based on three days use I’ve not had any connection problems.
A good alternative to more expensive cameras.

Excellent camera (W6 version). Support second to none. Had a request to allow switching off of IR illumination whilst still allowing normal day/night camera mode switching. (To prevent bugs and spiders being attracted.) Sudi sorted perfectly. Thank you.

Updated Review. At long last they listened to me and fixed it! Well done to them to actually listening to their customers

This WAS a great Camera. Until they updated the firmware in November. It stopped recording on the media card. Eventually they fixed the firmware but in doing so they made all of the recordings in low light black and white which at first view looks better but if you zoom in you completely lose the detail in the footage. I’ve supplied them examples photos of before and after but they now just ignore me and refuse to rectify the issue. If they had left the firmware alone and not updated in November it would have been fine.

I’ve had Wannsview for over a year now. 5 CAmera’s at two properties – subscribing to the cloud – all very easy to use and look back through should I need and download (Micro SD possible also). The support when required from Wannsview, also prompt – very good – no problems – highly recommend…..

The daytime operation is really good and the motion detector sensitivity can be adjusted between several levels. I have not applied the paid subscription service and will be looking into having a local cloud storage device. It also has a very short recording time for motion activated videos. Unfortunately the picture quality diminishes drastically when the camera goes into infra red mode. The camera is solidly made in metal! Not plastic, so should survive even the worst weather. Good value, but could be better.

I purchased one of these to compliment my 3 indoor units. They’re easy to set up and offer a great picture considering the low purchase price. On occasion when I’ve had to contact customer support for any issue the response has been rapid & helpful.
Very pleased with these little units

I haven’t tested the night vision or motion detection, but i gave them 5 stars anyway since other aspects of the device are good. Build quaulity and water-proofing are good as is image quality.

I wanted an RTSP device to use with MotionEyeOS on the raspi 3b+, having used ESP32-cams, raspi cam V2 plus some Python and CV to speed thing up, i was disappointed with the performance across all (i tried 4 different cam libraries and front-ends).

This costs less than a raspi 3b+ (plus cam and sd card) and performs superiorly.

    Well worth the money.

Id recommend this over any blink camera. It works better visually day or night at a third the cost. The motion detection actually works so again that’s a bonus. I wish the wansview range could send motion detection alerts to my alexa devices but all in all I wish I hadn’t wasted the money on the blink cameras that work less than half the time and bought more of these and I believe I will do in future.

This is a great little camera and the motion detection at night is funny as it picks up every little motion like flys. Thought I had a bat flying back and forth and it turned out to be a spiders Web with a spider running back and forth. Recommend this product and it covers 3 of gates. Happy lady

Have had other cameras from wansview before they have great customer service and will try to sort our all issues as quick as possible.
The W6 camera I purchased was out the box and set up within 10 minutes on the wall well within 20mins. The WiFi range is very good, picture quality and sound quality are also great.
No issues at all I’d recommend this camera to anyone

  17. RamonitaMcGuirk says:

The camera is located above the front door and covers the complete front drive with very sharp picture.

I used a 32GB SD card to store the recordings and this works very well with great playback options. It records while movement is detected and overwrites the oldest clip when eventually out of space.

Sometimes the record does not quite seem to capture the start of the movement e.g. passings cars but on the whole very good playback.

On playback, the app always tries to ask you to start a cloud account (which is annoying) to upload recordings. Just click the SD card image to access the SD card. It you have multiple cameras then the cloud service would be cost effective, otherwise it is really too much.

In all honesty, the first camera I got had a fault with the IRCUT, so the daytime view had a a pink shade, but the wansview support was really superb and replaced the camera very quickly.

    Excellent camera

Hi Wansview, this camera works an absolute treat.
I use it for watching hedgehogs in the garden on a night & the
remote sensor actually picked up a couple foxes during the night that I wasn’t
aware visited my garden. The camera works fine and was very easy to set up.
It just does it’s magic 24/7 & all in a very neat little package.
I have already recommended to a few friends & wouldn’t hesitate to buy
    one again if needed.
    5 stars, no problem. *****

I found the camera very easy to set up and the picture quality day and night is fantastic. Only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that the motion sensor can sometimes miss some movement, causing there to be gaps in the recordings. However the aftersales team are amazing and very helpful, I would definitely recommend this camera for the price, can’t go wrong

This model W6 was my first Wansview camera purchase and after careful evaluation and help from Sophia at Wansview I have to admit being very pleased with it.
Set up was easy and the picture quality superb. Had some initial difficulty getting the camera to register the micro SD card but after reporting this a firmware update and a full format of the card fully resolved the issue and everything works perfectly.
The backup support provided is beyond reproach and really impressed me.
Also the replay facility to expand the timebase to one minute intervals makes locating an event recording very easy and I found this to be a particularly useful.
A good compact camera, wide focus range, easy to use app – but only take the cover off the SD card access in home! The two screws are tiny and easily lost. But they do include some spare ones…..
    I have bought another one….

A much better app and connection than my previous camera and a decent image, not like on a HD TV, though. When I got a bit confused about camera function, customer support was excellent (with a memory card, you can see full recordings through the review function – the alert function I had been using just gives a few seconds, which I thought was all you got).

I wanted an ONVIF wireless camera to connect to a local Hi-Watch NVR, and this does the job (you have to connect it to the Wansview cloud to get it set up on the Wifi and to get the local password, but once you’ve done that you can operate completely locally). Gives a nice picture. I am very pleased with it.

The camera may be waterproof, but the 12V 5.5mm DC socket/plug probably isn’t (and the attached RJ45 socket certainly isn’t). I am planning to use something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/B08LZN6XNV to protect the plug/socket joins. I hope I can cut off the RJ45 and seal the cut cable with sealant.

It also claims to be vandalproof, but clearly isn’t (except to the most feeble vandal). It’s OK for where I want to use it, but don’t buy it relying on this!

I’ve bought two of these and they are good value (especially if you take advantage of a lightning deal or a money off voucher), providing RTSP streams to my Synology Surveillance Station. The only minor issue – for which I subtracted a star – is that the first camera I bought was missing an item: a sealing cap for the Ethernet connector. I didn’t realise this until I received the 2nd camera and saw the cap in its box. So there might be a slight quality control problem at Wansview – check the box contents when your camera arrives!

Have used wansview security cameras for a few years now, and find them fantastic value for money.
This particular model fits easily outside.
Three easy ways to connect to wifi. Connected 2nd time of trying, so cant complain.
Fully viewable real time via the wansview app.
Alerts set up. You can zone off the area you want to be alerted by.
Added feature of this one, it has a micro sd slot to save alerts to – with a loop to over write the oldest clips when full.
Build quality is great as always. Really sturdy, and well put together.
Customer support has always been first class. Helpfull and always comes back to you well next working day at the latest.
Over all, another great product from wansview.

I already have a Wansview indoor camera (Q5) so I already had the app and was familiar with the functionality and set up.

This camera was almost as easy to set up (with some added complexity due to needing to find a route for getting the necessary power) although not sure if it was an omission in my pack but I didn’t have any set up manual other than a guide on how to connect to the app.

Found set up fairly self evident anyway and concluded that I needed to attach it to the back on my router using the (supplied) network cable to start the link to my app.

I had the option of searching for the camera on the WAN, or scanning a QR code from the app using the camera, or scanning a QR code on the camera itself using the app.
I scanned the QR from the app using the camera just as I’d done when setting up the indoor camera, and went just as smoothly.

With the camera connected to the app I then detached the cable and the camera stayed connected now using the wireless connection. I then relocated the camera to suit my needs.

At present the camera is set up where it can view the gate into my garden as the (long and thin) power cable can come through an upstairs roof window (which easily shut and locked without damaging the cable as it’s so thin) and to a plug socket inside but it’s not the best view and I’ll move it shortly to a better vantage point when I can face getting my drill out and routing the cable through the wall. The power for the camera is a normal plug at one end and a fairly small diameter connected at the other which (once you’ve got it through a wall) connects via a robust waterproof socket to a short lead at the back of the camera. I’m not anticipating any issues moving to a move permanent power solution than the cable through a window however.

Overall I’m really pleased with the quality of the image – and of the nighttime image – and the app is easy to use and full of functionality. I have a motion alert activated in the dead of the night and have spotted animals coming and going and even a swarm of insects buzzing by so am confident it’d pick up anyone nosing about if that happened. Which, thankfully, hasn’t as yet.
The motion alert is great too as I can narrow the area I’m interested in to chop out the neighbours garden if I want to, which is handy, and I can imagine would be useful if you want to eliminate false alarms but chopping out pavements or roads otherwise captured in the field of view.

Very pleased. Might get one for the front next to keep my empire protected!

A great addition to my home security set up

The camera itself wasn’t too difficult to set up, instructions were included but I have another Wansview camera and it was similar to the other ones set up so didn’t take long at all.

The picture is superbly crisp and reached quite a distance so picked up a lot of detail which is great.

The extra bonus is that more than one account can keep an eye on the stream at once, they just need to set up and account themselves and you can link to others too.

I find the night visions works very well, but the area is very lit by street lamps already, so when I turn off the night vision (at night of course) it still gives a good picture but I suppose that depends for others how well their area is lit, but for me it works well & gives a good picture even without it at night too.

I have had this camera for a while and it has stood up well to the local storms in Cornwall, seamless integration with the other wansview cameras that i have in my home. The only tiny problem I found this camera was when i had to change the SD card for a larger one while the camera is in position, unfortunately the stainless steel screws are not captive to the access plate, so i almost lost them a few times. Honestly though an amazing camera, took a 128gb SD card with no issues, many other cameras i have tried have only been able to take a 16gb card maximum.

I have had wired CCTV systems in the past and have struggled to be able to set up the on line viewing but these cameras are so easy. No more wiring. The set up was easy out of the box. So easy to download and set up the App. On line viewing is great both day and night vision. To have a notification come through on my phone and even be able to speak to the person at the door. The provision to be able to download save stills and video from the SD card to my phone is also easy. You dont have to be a techy person to install or use the cameras.

This is a great camera for the price and picture quality, both day and night vision. Easy to set up and to link to wifi. I initally wanted it for out the front of my house but have bought one for the back now as well. The motion detection is really spot on and the sound is a great quality too. For under 120 for the year ( camera were around 66 for two and a years cloud storage, around 52) I think it is a great investment for the safety of your home, pets, your valuables, car etc. Once the cameras are bought, then it is just the payment for the cloud each year. However, you do not have to pay for the cloud storage and can just buy a sim card. The company are very good at advising you of this and the options.

The camera itself is just fine. Good picture quality and a wide field of view. Very easy to set up, using a QR code on the phone screen to register the camera to the account. Motion-triggering seems to work well.
What I was especially impressed by was the quick response and helpfulness of the customer support team. I wanted to set up the camera first at home, to test it, before installing elsewhere, at my elderly parents–in-law’s who are far enough away that I wanted to get it done right first time. The support team replied to my emailed query about this very quickly, with illustrated instructions as to how to re-set the camera to another network (it turned out to be very easy), and followed up with a “did it go OK?” email a couple of days later.
Given the dire level of support I’ve had in the past from some electronics suppliers, the level of support from Wansview is a really big plus.

I don’t normally do reviews here but just wanted to post one about this as they really are brilliant for such a low price. I’ve just bought my third one, I have one set up in my business premises and the other 2 set up at home. All 3 cameras are viewable on an app where I get a notification to my phone any time there is a motion detected.

The quality is great at both day and night, very clear, and you can set the sensitivity of the motions. At full sensitivity it is so good it’ll pick up my tree blowing slightly in the wind, so it really will catch anything. Mine quite often catches birds in the garden too although I do use mine for security purposes.

It is very easy to set up, just point the camera at the qr code on your phone and away you go. you can also pay for a subscription to have longer recordings saved every time there’s a motion and you can have upto 3 cameras on one subscription.

I’d also like to say the customer support is very fast and brilliant, I had a query with how to view back the recordings on cloud storage to pinpoint an exact moment and they replied straight away with numerous pictures explaining what to do.

Overall absolutely delighted with them, brilliant quality for a very reasonable price.

This is the first time I’ve used this sort of camera. The camera arrived quickly was well packaged and came with all the information you need to get going. Follow the instructions and the camera is very easy to set up and install. The camera provides excellent day and night definition. The motion detection facility is maybe a little too sensitive – but that is a positive feature as you can adjust the sensitivity up or down so I have it set on the lowest level – and that still ensures that any movement other than insects triggers an alert. The App is also easy to navigate and works well. Well worth the money!

Very easy to set up and install

I already owned a Wansview W4 camera, but when I came to add another camera to my system I wanted to add the ability to record to a memory card and also to have a camera with a built in microphone. The W6 camera meets these needs perfectly and works with the app that I already have.

Installation is simple and the camera connected straight away to my WiFi (despite some distance between the camera and the WiFi router. The picture and sound quality are superb on both my phone and my Echo show devices.

I’m amazed by the quality of the camera, especially at such a low price point and will definitely be adding more to my CCTV system.

I bought this camera to monitor our backyard where video doorbell may not be able to view the entire area. Also, small and light enough so the camera can be mounted on a higher height.

Upon opening the package, I’m a bit impressed on the number of parts the small box contains which would be helpful to mount the camera outside and to start using it. The items are organized inside the box and ensured that the camera itself has sufficient cushion. The aluminum metal camera body and its monopod mount look ruggedized for the outdoor weather. After connecting all the parts together with the WiFi antenna, the camera is still weighing light for easy attachment to wall.

In terms of Image Quality, there is no doubt that the picture is very sharp and clear on a bright sunny day. In low light, it is good that it has the infrared light to still pick up recognizable image. I admit that the clarity of the image would really depend on how far the camera will be on the subject (such as a person’s face or a wild critter). So, I might probably buy a supporting flood light or lamp with motion-detection if I would become too suspicious in the future.

I still have not tried how reliable the WiFi antenna in terms of distance from the router and on a worse wintery or thundery weather. I might probably update my review once this camera has experienced such types of weather.

Just some things to watch out on this camera which still needs to be validated in the coming months,
    1) I know this camera is rated with IP66 so it should be able to have “Full protection against dust and other particulates” and “Protection against powerful jets (12.5 mm nozzle) of directed water from any direction”. Even though, I would still be hesitant to point a water jet cleaner on this camera especially on the bottom speaker and on the cable junctions.
    2) The ball head wall mount seems to be sufficient to hold the camera with its cables. It would be interesting to see how this mount would hold if the camera got a bit for snow fall, or if the heavy rains are pouring on to it, or if there are heavy winds blowing into the camera.
    3) The motion detection seems to be working very well on well lighted or sunny weather. I’d still need to see how the camera’s algorithm would be able to detect something moving in complete darkness, for example, some cats walking nearby the porch.

One thing I noticed is that removing the bottom speaker to access the microSD card slot is quite tricky because the cover does not have any notch on it and probably the rubber seal has a good grip on it. Perhaps, there is a good reason for it to make sure that the internal parts are really weather sealed.

For the affordable price when I bought this camera, so far, I’m happy on how it is performing for me. It just a matter of time to tell about its reliability which I’m hoping to be more positive.

Looks durable and a practical outdoor camera

It was very easy to setup from the app. I just had to click add camera, choose this model from the list, put in the WiFi password and then show the QR code to the camera. That’s it! That simple.
There are loads of settings including night vision, adjusting the sensitivity. I installed a micro SD card. The picture quality is fantastic. I have placed the camera on my shed at the bottom of my back garden. My WiFi router is at the front of the house but the signal is fine. The camera feels very solid. It has a strong aluminium case and looks like it should be waterproof. I’m really happy with this camera.

If I had to fault it, the only thing I can think of is that you can’t scroll around the area remotely like I can with my other one, but that’s not too much of an issue as it has a wide view.

I use an Annke DVR system and it supports ONVIF IP cams. I had previously used some internal wifi webcams and installed outside. Not unsurprisingly they did not last long in an external environment. I have spent some time seeking a compact external camera that uses wifi (negating requirement to hard wire), and can be viewed by the DVR and its iOS application (AnnkeVision). Many so called “cloud” cameras don’t link easily to DVR’s but this was easy to install and configure. You do have to ensure that “Main Stream” is selected. On the iOS application I struggled a little until I realised that as it only uses Main Stream I had to select UHD (as opposed to Basic) resolution. Now I have exactly what I was looking for! Very happy! I have not evaluated motion detection as I have not used yet).

Got two cameraS from this company. This one was for garden. Is nice small and cute looking.
You can set sensitivity for motion and area for detection.

Added an SD card, be patient it takes a while to register when you put it in. Shows as error first but works after.

Excellent and glad I have this for the back of my garden. Can view on my phone and kindle. Downloaded Aptoide for Kindle to download the app. You need to make an account for each device as it’ll log you off when you log into a different one. You can make up to 4 users. I can access both my cameras and click into each.

You can also speak in and hear out of it. As the builder was installing I spoke into it and told him where to move as I stayed inside warm and cosy while it was set up. Loved it and I plan to surprise guests when they visit after covid and impress them by speaking to them from a different location

The SD card that I got is Kingston technology 128 gig ff that helps anyone. It worked.

Great View. Sd Card good. Night vision grea

This is the second camera I have from this company I have an internal one and I bought this external one

The image quality is fantastic and it is very easy to setup and use.

With recording old times there is motion detected it is handy to know that anywhere in the world I can access this via the online storage making me know my home is secure at all times.

The image quality of the recordings is very good I’ve had other cameras where it is very jumpy but this is pretty seamless

Well worth the price for keeping your house safe

Well built metal casing makes it more durable than other plastic ones.

Easy to connect to router, just follow steps on the instructions. Good Connection even mine was installed upstairs.

    Good quality HD view.

Night Vision a bit too sensitve, but once on, it is very clear. (I turn it off).

Motion detection can be adjusted to your desired level.

The App works fine with my Android phone.

Alerts usually take 4 minutes to notify my phone. I guess it may be faster if u pay for its cloud storage service (30 days free trial).

It took me a year to research on reviews before buying this as there are often wifi connection problems with security cameras, even they have 5 star comments on their features.

So, I always check for one star reviews. Only this model has no such problem complained!

Overall: Very good value for money with reliable wifi connection.

Durable Outdoor Security Camera, Good Value.

Bought 2 wansview w6 cameras for the front and back of the house. Cameras were small and of good quality from what I could tell. Easy to set up on my android phone and also to link in with my Alexa echo. Picture quality in day time clear and crisp. Likewise night time picture quality with infra red very good too as can be seen from pictures. Would have no hesitation in recommending these cameras as good value for money. I am a novice when it comes to CCTV cameras so for me to get them set up suggests the instructions and workings are very straightforward for all.

Excellent little camera and great value for money.

Haven’t set it up permanently outside yet, it’s only sitting inside on tbe upstairs bedroom window, day time motion sensor works brilliantly…. can’t wait to see how outside works, but am sure it will work fantasticaly
Will fully recommend this security camera.

Camera is excellent, great picture quality, when you record it saves to whatever device your recording from, so don’t even need an sd card. The motion detection is on point and you get an alert notification almost instantly.
You can invite friends a family to view the camera aswell. The night vision is also excellent, you can see everything at night with no issues. Overall an outstanding camera.

I was looking at replacing some older ZMODO 720P cameras and did try another brand but returned them as the wifi connectivity was really poor. I ordered two of these Wansview cameras and have to say I am impressed. Set up really easy, picture quality superb, motion detection ok but good enough for my needs, wifi connectivity really good, 32GB SD cards seem to be better but that’s the same for all of these cameras from my experience, so basically would definitely recommend these cameras.

Fantastic IP camera. Easy to set up and configure. Great picture quality 1920×1080 resolution. Connected to my router to setup using the Wansview Cloud app on my phone. Nice and easy. Tested it was connecting to my Wifi wirelessly which it was before installing outside. I’ve bought another one since to replace my expensive Arlo camera’s which have started to fail. It’s great to be able to connect to the camera all the time to watch the video without having to worry about batteries.

Alerts and config in the cloud app are easy to set up too.

I already own two other CCTV camera’s around the same price range, but i must say the Wansview is the best of them, good build quality, picture quality is more than adequate for the price and the build in mic is very sensitive and produces good sound. The initial camera setup using their Wansview app was a straight forward process and the camera works with the software I use the manage all my CCTV camera’s ( iSpy ). For the techies among us you know it can be a pain to find the right RTSP or ONVIF addresses for the IP camera’s, but the Wansview app provide them for you to use in 3th party programs! that saved me allot of time.
I am seriously considering to replace my other two cameras with a Wansview.

For basic security this is all you need. I was pleasantly surprised when opening the box (which is pretty small) it was jam packed with stuff – everything you need is in this box, the camera, psu (3m cable) long network cable, antenna – screws plugs templates, etc etc…It’s early days but so far so good, picture is ok – hd quality – on wifi it’s so so on LAN perfect. – wifi is good enough for my needs, which is keeping an eye on the dog in the garden. It does motion detection which works and you can hook it up to an sd card. I think I can get it to record to the network – like an ip camera but I’ve not got this working yet. All in all first impressions are good and for the price you can’t complain. Recommend.

This camera is absolutely brilliant. I am so pleased with everything that it offers. We actually bought it for outside, but haven’t got round to putting up. We have been using it to catch a cat intruder! The day and night vision is really clear. You can take photos etc. It shall be going up tomorrow outside and I’m 100% sure that we will have no problems and it will perform fine. This photo is blown up from the original. The camera was on top of my fridge freezer, so you can imagine how much i have enlarged it. I would definitely recommend!

    Fantastic little camera!

Just had 2 of these installed, amazed by clarity of picture, although I had been encouraged to go for higher resolution, really can’t see how it could be any better. App works very well, easy to navigate and personalise. Extremely sensitive to any movement, even although i have turned sensitivity to lowest, getting alerts every few minutes as I live on a very busy road. Written to Wansview to see if there is a solution, but overall a minor annoyance.
Quality and build of cameras excellent, how they do it for the price I don’t know. well worth every penny. Toying with the idea of getting another ….. just ‘cos they are so darned good
PS. CUSTOMER SUPPORT – sent a couple of queries for clarification, extremely helpful, i and even discovered couple of extra features!!

Pros- Really like this security camera. Easy to fit and set-up. The night vision and picture quality are excellent. You can also set the motion detection for certain times of your choice. All from your phone via the app.

Cons- I think the motion detection could be improved, because the slightest spec of dust/rain or insect can trigger it. Wether or not you adjust the sensitivity bar in the app.

Overall very good piece of kit.

This camera is excellent value for money, the picture is great and the options for motion detect are super.
This does not record 24:7 constantly but this was easily solved by setting up specific times to detect motion which is a better option.

Wanted a camera to overlook driveway & send motion detection to phone. Works really well & far superior to another make I used previously. Represents excellent value for money. Difficult to criticise in any way except to say that I have it set to minimum sensitivity that is still a little over sensitive for my application but may not be so for others. When fitting I found it easiest to mount a junction box behind the camera as seen in photo to house the cable connection & other gubbins.

    Good camera at good price.

This is by far the best budget, outdoor IP cam that I have found to date.
Physically, its compact and the mount is robust and easy to fix. The instructions and setup process just work. I found the best way to setup was to install the app and then use the camera to scan the QR code on my phone – job done.
The English version of the app is excellent. It also provides all the info you would need to be able to stream on your local network using ONVIF or RTSP through a suitable player e.g. VLC.
You can also share the live stream with friends using the app to email them a link. They install the app and can share the video and audio.
All of the above can be done without having to subscribe to the optional cloud storage although this is a reasonably inexpensive option if you want to keep recordings in the cloud.
    All in all, very satisfied.

I’ve never left a review before but on this occasion I felt compelled to,
The camera comes with every thing you need to set up in less than 10 minutes.
The camera is very well made for the price and I suspect as good as a lot of cameras of twice the price.
Turn it on ,connect to WiFi, download the App, scan a code , place the camera, done.
The picture is very clear and zoomable, even the night pictures are clear, still can’t believe how cheap they were, my mate spent 500 on a 4 camera system that doesn’t look any different and certainly doesn’t have a better picture.
The only downside I suppose is that is doesn’t have human recognition so it’ll record ever thing and give you an alert.hopefully If I play with the settings I’ll sort it out.
You can use the cloud or fit a mini SD, no matter what you do the system is brilliant.

This is the third Wansview camera I have bought, but this is my first outdoor one. The camera and its fixings are well made and look like they will last well in the open air. Although the instruction leaflet did not say how to assemble its various components, it was simple enough to work it out and assembly was quick and easy. Connection to the wi-fi was simple (and the same as for my existing Q5 cameras). I did this indoors to ensure a good signal for the initial setup. Connection, once outside, was good however – probably thanks to the screw-on aerial. Picture quality is good, even in low light conditions. Overall, this is a good buy for anyone wanting an outside camera, either for security or – like me – to watch garden birds, foxes, etc.

I recently bought the Q5 internal camera and was so impressed, I ordered the external camera.

The quality of both cameras are fabulous. So easy to set up and use. Now with the two cameras, I’ve got everywhere covered!!!

I would have liked the external camera to be controlled by the app like the internal camera but once positioned correctly it covers the area I need.

Another great camera – would highly recommend.

I bought the W6 to replace a very old and failing IP camera, to use with Synology Surveillance Station. I had previously checked that the W6 was supported by Synology.
Setup is awkward – I struggled with the Wansview Cloud app while trying to pair with the camera, and it’s annoying that you have to register with their cloud to do so. Once there, I’d hoped and assumed that there would be a web interface to the camera, but as far as I can see there isn’t one – I just get 403 Forbidden.
I also struggled setting it up with Surveillance Station. Then I found out that you have to go into the camera settings, via the app, so Settings > Local application > ONVIF > Enable to set it to On. This also tells you the port (8899) to use. Having done that you can set up the camera in Synology using the IP address and port.
However once set up, the quality appears very good, with good image quality, good colour in daylight or artificial light and good night vision. It also seems fast. I haven’t yet tested its motion detection.
In summary, a great piece of hardware for the bargain price if you’re prepared to a) live with the supplied app, or b) put some effort into setting it up with your existing software.

Excellent product night vision is very good and daytime colour reproduction is excellent. I fitted 64 gig storage card only problem I encountered was camera would not format or recognise it. Placed it in laptop formated it and it worked perfectly. Record and playback very good and time-line saves trouble of scrolling through every thing. Wansview app is easy to use and control all camera functions. One niggle is my amazon portal recognises the camera but won’t playback video. Playback on android fone is very good all in all I would def recommend very good value for money.

Set up of this camera is super easy and takes only a couple of minutes. Once setup was complete I was amazed at the picture quality. Having used many different cameras, the picture quality is just as good if not better than cameras you would pay much more for.
It has all the features that allow it to integrate into all my home automation systems and works great with my facial recognition software even at night with the night vision activated.

I bought this W6 for a special purpose and it has performed admirably. Good picture and sound. The only gripe I have is that it does not record continuously on to the micro card as it only records the small period when the motion alarm triggers but even so it is a minor item. I have managed to share the camera view with another also which is what I wanted to do, All in all a good value for money compared to others I have read about.

It is a tiny outdoor camera I got today, smaller than I expected. The picture quality is quite good for this price. The night vision is also quite good. Very easy to install and view on my phone. A little pity the black paint has a scratch and waterproof seal is squeezed. I redo the seal to make sure it is IP66. As it is IP66, I have to open that speaker to insert my TF card. The IR LEDs are very bright but the filter is not good enough. I can clearly see the LEDs in the darkness, not like the Q6 (almost invisible LED in the darkness). Overall, this camera provides me all what I want. Let’s how it hold the weather……

This camera worked fine, I bought this after filling up my Poe NVR so I wanted WiFi one for the shed that worked with Alexa where the chickens are but the isn’t any power at the shed, although the power lead is long it wasn’t long enough for what I needed so I used an spare Ethernet cable and bought Poe to power it. Works great I just use the app you can speak into it, or view on Alexa. You can have up to 3 people on the app using it without subscription also.

This compact yet robust camera measures approx. 8cm long x 5cm square and has a 3D swivel mount. Image quality is very good, including at night-time, and the microphone can pick up normal conversation at 1.5 metres. (More than that and you might have to ask the visitor to speak louder!) The integral loudspeaker is perfectly adequate for its purpose and loudspeaker volume is adjustable via your smartphone.

Set-up using the mobile phone app is straightforward and offers three ways (scan QR code, via smartphone software and manual) to connect to wifi, which is accessible via the integral adjustable aerial or Ethernet connection. Power is provided from a combined plug/transformer and a 3 metre long low-voltage cable should get you access to a mains socket somewhere! As with other Wansview cameras, optional video recording is available via the cloud and Wansview offers a 30 day free trial of this service. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

So I think the beat features on the camera is defiantly the night vision and the fact you can hear the people outside and speak to them. You can clearly hear who’s speaking outside and they can clearly hear you, which I find useful for delivery drivers when I’m not home. The night vision is defiantly an improvement from previous models however I do hope they fix the issue with the motion detector setting. You can go into settings and change how sensitive you want your camera to be, however even though it gives you the option to have it low-mid or mid-high it never saves for me on the both models of camera I have. You can choose low, middle or high though without a problem which it is useful. I like the picture quality during the day and the night, and the mic is really sensitive I can hear noises from around 15 feet away. One of the downsides of the camera is I can’t quiet get it tight enough to stay in the position I want it to be in, however the position it will stay in is useful to me anyway. This camera can also ‘stand up’ so you could have it inside your home on a window ledge looking outside.

I wanted a Wi-Fi night vision camera for monitoring astronomical equipment at night.

This device is compact, runs off 12V, has excellent night vision, and was easy to set up. I had a small difficulty switching from an ethernet connection to Wi-Fi, but the customer help desk quickly put me on the right track and I now have access to the camera on all my computer devices.

I do not use and have not tested the more advanced facilities – motion detection, Alexa integration etc – but what I have used has worked very well.

The W6 is the second camera I have purchased from Wandsview (W4 is the other). I think the amazon product images make the W6 look larger than it actually is, whereas it is quite small and unimposing.

The unit comes with a wifi antenna, ethernet cable, and attachments to fix it to a wall. If I was going to criticise, I would say the lead from the camera could be a bit longer, but this is a minor point.

The build quality is great; it feel solid and sturdy. I was able to setup, configure and test the unit very easily within a short space of time.

The Wandsview mobile software was readily available on google play, which worked without any issues. I also downloaded VLC player and ONVIF device manager (sourceforge) to test the RTSP and ONVIF video feeds from the camera.
Both the ONVIF and rtsp video feeds worked well, providing the ability to integrate with other systems.

I purchased an additional 128Gb microSD card so that I could enable the recording to SD, rather than using cloud subscription option.

Motion detection is configurable to a schedule, or can be left on 24/7. See examples of the images in the attached pictures.

In summary, a super little unit which should satisfy any home secuity requirements.

I brought this camera after buying the w5 camera as this one was even more cheaper and had the same specifications as w5 and i wasn’t disappointed. The camera although quite small is very well built. the image quality and night vision is very good and found them to be as good as w5. Alexa integration was a breeze and the response time on my tele is same as the ring door camera. Adding the camera in the app was straightforward and i have used a 64gb memory card which allows me to store the recordings longer than 10 seconds. All the features are very easy to use and i would recommend this product for the quality and price.

I bought one of these to add to the four W4 units I already have installed around my rural property. Adding this unit was very easy via the Andoid Wansview Cloud App that I had already installed and configured for the existing cameras. All the cameras can be shared via the app to other Wansview equipped phones so that members of the family can also view what is happening on their own phones. It was also easy to add the new camera to my existing Wansview Cloud subscription thereby allowing recorded motion events to be made available for a rolling 15 days.
Picture quality is excellent both day and night with the built in infra-red floodlighting making night vision particularly impressive for such a reasonably priced camera.
The unit supports both wi-fi and Ethernet connectivity, athough in my case I used the wi-fi connection to an external wi-fi hot spot mounted some 25 metres away. The camera will accept an SD memory card although given my existing Cloud subscription I haven’t made use of this.
The field of vision is slightly wider than my existing W4 units which again is beneficial in my case.
I was hoping to make use of the inbuilt speaker and microphone to allow conversation with callers at our remote gateway. This has proved inpractical as the speaker volume and microphone sensitivity are inadequate in such an open environment. I have no doubt though that this feature would work well if the camera were mounted next to a front or back door, or in a covered porchway.
Overall this seems to be a very good little camera, it seems robustly built with no obvious shortcomings in the application I have for it. Only time will tell if these Wansview cameras are reliable especially given the exposed positions I am using them in.

This little camera arrived in minimal but sufficient packaging with everything required to set it up and mount it on the wall. The first impression was its compact size and the quality feel. As with other Wansview products, the setup was simple. Highly recommended.
The only downside is that the lead bundle is not detachable from the camera so you need a large hole to pass the cable through a wall.

Compact, sturdy camera with an excellent picture quality.

I purchased this (W6 IP camera) as an addition to my current setup of x5 Wansview IP cameras (W4). Compared with the W4 the W6 has the following improvements:

    (1) Explicit ONVIF support which can be enabled and disabled.
    (2) Speaker on-board which enables two way audio comms and audio feedback from the camera during setup and reset of camera.
    (3) Micro-SD card support.

The camera and accessories came in a small box with everything you need – including a screwdriver, a template for the screw mount positions, screws and wall plugs.

Installation is straight-forward. You will need the Wansview cloud app and setup your account first. Before actually mounting your camera, I suggest setting this up indoors first, preferably near your router – You can setup using a wired connection (which I did) or via wireless using a QR code.

Once connected to your network and viewable on the Wansview app, you can then proceed to setup for your DVR and Alexa. For Alexa, just connect the Wansview skill. For your local DVR, the setup info is in the “Local Application” menu in the settings for the camera. Setup your username and password and check the RTSP settings and enable ONVIF. On your DVR (I use Blueiris), add the camera and examine it for the RTSP stream and path – the defaults worked fine for me.

With regards to micro-SD card support, the card slot is accessed by removing the plate under the camera. The plate holds the speaker, so be careful when undoing the 2 screws. I used a 32Gb card – after inserting it and closing the plate, the app did not recognise the card – on checking – I found that the card had been ejected – by the speaker/speaker cable when I replaced the bottom plate. By carefully pushing in the speaker wire into the compartment and gently closing the plate, I was able to ensure that the card stayed in the slot. This is a specific design issue that should be looked at in future generations of this camera.

All in all, a good and simple upgrade – especially if you already use Wansview cameras.

Works with Blueiris DVR as well as Alexa

OK,,, we had previous brought the indoor Q5 Wansview camera to which we were very pleased…. decided to try this one for our back garden, mainly to keep an eye on our new dog and two rabbits .

Connecting to the WiFi was straight forward,,, as we already had a Wansview camera we just added the second one to the App,,, on saying this if it is your first time the installation / instructions are straight forward and simple.

Once connected we firstly used an extension lead and played around with the correct location,, to be honest the coverage is very good .
Three screws to mount the bracket (raw plugs and screws provided) and before I could blink the camera was mounted.
This is s mains supply camera so obviously you need to run the mains cable to an inside plug .

Overall for the price this is a great little camera,, there are a lot on the market and some at a greater cost…. this is perfect for what we need.

Now both of our cameras are connected to the same App,,, you can name each camera to whatever you want.

Will be buying another one for the front of our house .

I bought the Wansview security camera about 6 weeks ago. Pretty straightforward to set up although it took a few attempts for it to read the QR code, which is part of the set up procedure, but once it did everything worked as expected. I’ve located it looking onto my back gate and the car park beyond. I must say I’m pretty impressed with everything about this camera. The picture and sound quality is very good in day light and at night. The motion detection option is fantastic as you can select a specific area Within the cameras vision, for the motion detection to trigger. You can also adjust the speed in which the motion detection will be triggered (a fast or slow moving object) and you can also set up when you want the motion detection to start monitoring from and until to. All in all I’m pretty pleased with my purchase and plan to buy a second one to cover the driveway at the front of my property.
I know there’s an option to add an SD card or record onto a cloud but as yet I’ve not set this up.

This is a great camera for the price. The image quality is better than my Hikvision dome camera which costs 3 times the price and has worked perfectly despite the recent cold weather, wind and rain.

It was simple to set up – just bear in mind it has to connect to 2.4Ghz wifi so if you have combined 2.4 and 5GHz SSIDs you will need to separate them in your router settings, or create a separate 2.4 only SSID if you have more advanced wifi kit.

I have mine hooked up to my CCTV recorder but can also just open the app on my phone if I want to just quickly check on the camera while I’m out.

At this price there’s no reason not to get a couple to help secure your home.

Ordered a security camera to keep an eye on the front of our house as there has been some vandalism in our local area recently. Arrived quickly. All components needed included in the box with bracket, screws, template, Ethernet cable, power adapter and instructions….. even a screwdriver. Seems a solid compact camera, looks quite neat and tidy.

Easy to set up via the app, took 2 minutes…. and discovered by Alexa in 30 seconds. Good image onto the phone app and Echo Show. Installed a 32Gb micro SD card to record motion detection clips.

Installed high on side of house near outside plug point (you would need to have one within about 2.5m), pointing to gate and path. Night vision seemed pretty good. Not had any visitors yet to test motion detection properly. Also has two way audio which may be handy to speak to couriers. I may buy another for the back of the house…. the app can show up to 4 camera images together.
