Very secure shredder for the business. Arrived very quickly. One little grip was a box was damaged and unpacking the unit had a crack in the top. Lucky this has not affected its ability to work so kept the uni

I’m so glad I bought the wolverine. All the cheaper shredders I’ve owned pale in comparison to this machine. Super quiet, powerful, cross cut action that produces P5 level shredding. I do not use a bag inside the bin. When full, I simply put a garbage bag over the bin and flip to dispose of the contents. I use a shop vac to clean any waste on the floor.

Prodotto veramente ottimo. Arrivato ben confezionato e nei tempi previsti. Lavora perfettamente.

It may be on the expensive side, but we’ll worth it, never hesitated when shredded multiple sheets and steady batches of paper and it is quiet. Lots of room in the bucket, and it lets you know when it’s full.

This is one of them purchases you just LOVE. It is big and bulky, but thats perfectly fine for me and my usage. PLUS, its a mirco-cut. I would hate to be the forensic investigator trying to put these pieces back together lol.

THIS IS A MUST BUY if you are serious about SECURITY

Funciona perfecta, buen espacio de almacenamiento, algo cara pero vale totalmente la pena cuando se tiene gran volumen.

SUMMARY: The biggest pluses are (1) it’s extremely quiet, (2) it shreds with ease – paper, staples, paper clips (not bulldog clips), haven’t tried CDs.

Cheaper than paying a shredding firm, so it’s good value at under 340 quid. Price fluctates, often by a lot.

Large. Heavy. The maximum number of sheets at a time actually varies more than the manufacturer’s simple “15 sheets” of 70 gsm paper (standard paper is 80 gsm), details below.

Your time’s valuable. Please don’t do false economy on small models that struggle with quantity/metal (I’ve done that), life’s too short. This Wolverine really does get its claws into your documents AND STAPLES, and is as Marvel-lous as the Marvel Comics character it’s named for.

    DETAILS:

Large, big footprint. I’m small, I’d say it’s “very heavy”; hubby described it as “heavy”.

The instructions say maximum per shred 15 sheets 70 gsm paper. Standard printer or photocopy paper is 80 gsm. Variables include thicker paper or card. No probs if you’re shredding paper of recent age. Otherwise it also depends on the age of a document and how dry it was/is: I often shred stuff decades old, back to 1899, and somehow old paper absorbed moisture even though it feels perfectly dry now. When you have old paper that was once pressed it has a certain consistency and can jam in the machine. Banks used to send you your processed cheques and paying-in slips. There’s no way my existing small shredder could cope.

Best to empty the bin before it’s totally full. If you put a bin liner fully over it and upend into it, there’s no mess at all, but the bin liner needs to be a decent thickness to hold its shape for the process.

15 mins continuous run-time; webpage says (turn off and allow) 30 mins cool-down time, but the instructions say 30-60 mins.

Bought to replace an under-the-desk P-4 shredder. This Wolverine is three times the price of that small machine, and although shredders get slower as the paper shreds get smaller, the Wolverine offers a level of security (P-5) which is way more than three times better than P-4. The technical details are that P-4 cross-cut shredders produce 160 mm particles and width = 6mm, and it’s hard or nearly impossible to reconstruct pages, but note the word “nearly”. P-5 offers a much smaller cross-cut, with shreds typically being only = 30 mm particles with width = 2 mm, and this P-5 Wolverine yields particles 2 mm x 10 mm. I also have four family generations’ worth of paper going back to 1899 to sort/shred, so even without the P-4/P-5 issue, the Wolverine has already saved me hours of effort.

This Wolverine shredder really gets its claws into your documents and staples.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersIn general, this is a great shredder that lives up to the specifications the manufacturer represents. I haven’t found anything that this shredder won’t accept and shred within its list of materials it can shred.

    What I like:
This shredder has shredded everything I have placed into it, which is almost 100% single sheets of paper.
As a test of its manganese steel blades, I shredded a sheet of labels to see if they would get stuck in the blades. Happily, no label adhesive was found after shredding the labels. I wouldn’t recommend making it a habit of shredding labels, but it’s nice to know that I can on occasion without worrying about fouling the shredder blades.
I like the 8 gallon bin. As another user has already noted, the bin is not really meant to accept plastic liners, but I have found that 8 gallon trash bags work well as a bin liner without the bags tearing or having to stretch them beyond the limits of the plastic bag material.
Power and bin sensor switches seem to be heavier duty that switches I have seen used on other products coming out of China. Kudos to the manufacturer for at least sticking to that level of quality.
I haven’t bought a SOHO shredder in quite some time, so it was very refreshing to have the ability to manually operate the shredder motor in both forward and reverse.
Compared to the other shredders I have owned in the past, this one is a clear winning in the noise department. It practically whispers when I do a side-by-side comparison with the older, cross-cut shredder I have.

    What I dislike:
The power switch cap is a little too small around its diameter, and I notice it sticks from time to time when powering the shredder on and off. Not a deal killer, but it starts the thinking that maybe corners were cut in other parts of the manufacturing process to compensate for the quality parts used to make this machine.
The plastic used for the bin is very thin. When using the handle to pull the bin from the shredder, or insert it back into the shredder, a lot of flex in the bin plastic is noticed. I am thinking that the bin will probably be the first point of failure on this shredder since the plastic will probably fracture or shatter if it is pulled out too many times.
On a related note to the thin plastic used for the bin, the rest of the plastic body parts are so light that the shredder is very top heavy. Trying to roll the shredder on its provided casters is not a good idea since the shredder wants to tip over. I found it easier to lift it off the floor to reposition it. Be sure to eat your Wheaties before lifting this shredder, though; it weighs over 40 pounds.
My biggest dislike is the cost. I will assume that the steel used for the blades, motor and their respective frames add to the cost of this shredder. I will also grant that P5 blades will cost more to manufacture. To have this cost over $300 when the rest of the shredder was clearly cost engineered to help lower the total cost to manufacture this shredder means that the manufacturer, all the supply chain in the middle and Amazon are making tidy profits. I hope this shredders lasts long enough to justify the cost to buy it.

OK, that’s a bit overboard but this shredder has my genuine admiration because it so quietly destroys all of your paper and turns it in amazingly small grains of indecipherable “stuff.” Except that it just quit working 12/18/2021

Shreds quickly and quietly. Its easy to empty when it’s full. Easy to store in the closet.

This shredder is worth every penny. I bought it to shred several boxes of paper bank books. It worked quietly and consistently. Very strong motor.

The name is totally appropriate. This thing destroys stuff. Very quiet. I had three huge boxes of papers. Tiny pieces and it was like ten large trash bags. I’ve already got my money worth out if it. Better than the Office stores brand I have which is very good but this is great.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPleasantly discovered how strong, quiet, and efficient this unit is. In fact, the only objection I have is that the transfer of “chips” can be messy if you don’t take the time to insure 100% containment – not easy to do. Otherwise, you wind up with a million tiny pieces going everywhere, and they’re not easy to pick up, since you shouldn’t do it with a vacuum lest you quickly clog up your other machine. Amazing ability to shred multiple layers with equally amazing quiet. Highly recommend as an excellent product!

I was replacing another shredder which I have had for about 25 years. This is a very nice shredder and the material it produces is almost impossible for someone to try and recreate. It is much quieter than my old one and does not really bother people around when it is in use. I personally feel the bin/compartment for catching the material is a tad small, especially when the sensor says it is time to empty the bin when it is only about 2/3 full. Minor complaints on a pretty nice shredder.

I’m in LOVE! This purchase was better than anticipated. Super fast prime delivery. Setup was just removing packaging. Super satisfying noise when crunching the paper. No issues so far. Easy to use. Have not tried shredding a credit card or cd yet but I plan too!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this because the smaller shredders wouldnt last long enough without overheating. It ate through pretty much everything staples, cds, credit cards. It turned it all into confetti. Only thing i would gripe about is when it does stop for overheating after about a half hour it wont let you reverse it so that you can remove the last thing it was trying to shred so that it isnt sticking out the top till it cools.down again to shred it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersOnce you get a feel for the maximum number of sheets that will fit in the feed slot, you can quickly shred hundreds of sheets over a 15 minute period. I cleaned out 30 years (20 large storage boxes) of financial documents that had been stored in my attic. Instead of paying thousand to staples or iron mountain or ups, I bought those Wolverine and took care of it myself. The reverse function automatically sends paper back to you instead of jamming like my previous shredder use/d to do. I highly recommend this little beast!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIf you are willing to spend a little more for a quality shredder I highly recommend the Wolverine shredder model SD9520. The shredder does what it is supposed to and is very quite. I would also like to recommend the service I got from their customer service department. I normally will not do business with any vendor on Amazon who does not have a phone number to contact customer support. After placing the shredder in service I had a couple of questions that were not covered in the product manual. I emailed the address provided in the manual for support but did not receive a reply. A few days later I emailed again and included my home phone number in the email. Late the following afternoon I received a phone call from Allen with Wolverine’s customer service. He advised that they had tried to reply to my emails but for some reason they were being blocked. Allen was very professional and answered my questions about the shredder. He also said that they are working on setting up a phone number for customer support.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI love this shredder so far. Robust, large capacity for shreds, and can handle lots of pages at once. Be aware, it’s huge. I’ve tried smaller shredders for our mail and old documents and have donated them all because they jam even on a small envelope. The size is totally worth it in return for flawless shredding.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have no dislikes for the Wolverine paper shredder.
It is absolutely the best paper shredder that I’ve ever had. And it pulverizes the paper to the consistency of oatmeal or less. For any unwanted mail I leave the envelope intact. The only reason I will open an envelope of junk mail is if there is plastic or heavy cardboard cards inside… and you can tell that by flexing the envelope.
I feel like the Wolverine is worth every penny that I paid for it. It comes with wheels attached and rolls easily. Operational noise is very low.

The Wolverine security paper shredder get six stars from me

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Usersot only is it quite (my previous one must have been really really noisy), its amazing how quite it can be. in addition, it will just plain chew on what you give it. much like the others mentioned, the full sensor somehow senses capacity too early. just give it a good shake for the shreds to settle down and it is back to production. a wonderful device that i hope will last a long time.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersSuper micro cut is extremely fine and runs quiet for long periods of continuous use with huge 8 gallon basket. I did find the need to keep well below stated 15 sheet capacity if intending to run continously for more than 30+ minutes which I did on several occasions although kept to maximum of 60 minutes and rested to prevent overheating. I’ve had more than a few $200+ micro cut shredders for home office use in the past and this is the best I’ve ever owned.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWhen I set out to buy a shredder I was not planning to spend quite this much. But after reviewing many of the lower end models and seeing the difference between the P4 and the P5 level cut, I settled on this model. It’s even better than I expected. It’s quieter than expected, and the result is amazing. It’s like pulp. I’ve not had it for very long so I cannot speak to the longevity, but I’ve shredded enough to fill the bin 2 or 3 times over, and have has absolutely no issues at all. Highly recommend.
